To date, Unidentified History has covered some truly interesting, curious, and fascinating events. But we now journey back to what might truly be the most important period in the history of Ufology… the summer of 1947. On this episode, we cover the first of two massive events that would reshape everything everyone knew, or thought they knew, about UFOs. This episode explores the origins of the UFO phenomenon by focusing on the pivotal 1947 Kenneth Arnold sighting that introduced the term ‘flying saucer.’ Join us for a detailed analysis of this historical sighting and the possibility of extraterrestrial contact. As critical as the Kenneth Arnold sighting was, and still is, it was one of many curious events that transpired over the period of a few weeks in June and July of 1947. On this episode, we also take a look at the United Airlines Flight 105 incident, and the very controversial Maury Island event. How are these three events inextricably intertwined with each other? Once thought to be solely the stuff of science fiction, UAPs (UFOs) are very real to thousands around the world. In 2021, the US Government confirmed that leaked UAP video was legitimate. Ever since, there has been an explosion of interest in the topic. Yet, we are no closer to understanding UAPs, where they come from, or who/what is behind the phenomenon. In this series, we look to bridge the gap between the past and present by looking at some of the most important UAP sightings in history and determining whether the question of “are we alone in the universe?” might have already been answered.
