Backstage Report: Alternate WrestleMania 42 Plans Blamed for Mixed Reception
A new backstage report outlines the alternate creative plans WWE explored for WrestleMania 42, noting that proposed changes involving talents such as CM Punk, Bron Breakker, Roman Reigns, and Cody Rhodes were in play throughout the buildup. Sources say the continual reshuffling and last-minute pivots contributed to an inconsistent card and a final product that divided fans and critics alike.
Insiders suggest the shifting creative direction affected match pacing and storyline payoffs, leaving several marquee moments feeling undercooked or contradictory to earlier plans. The report frames those alternate plans and indecision as a significant factor in why WrestleMania 42 drew a mixed reaction rather than the universal acclaim WWE hoped for.
