At an NXT live event this week Zaria ambushed Bayley and struck her with a steel chair, prompting Bayley to publicly demand retribution and call on Shawn Michaels to take action. Zaria showed no remorse, tweeting “AND I’LL DO IT AGAIN,” as Bayley — who has been open to cross-brand matches and teased feuds with Indi Hartwell on TNA and Tatum Paxley for the John Cena Classic — refocuses on her pursuit of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles with Lyra Valkyria.

Zaria has built momentum on NXT following her Last Woman Standing program with Sol Ruca and has made moves onto the main roster, setting her sights on gold and higher-profile singles work after previously competing on the main roster only as a tag partner with Ruca. The cross-brand expansion of talent makes a Bayley–Zaria rivalry a viable storyline as both women look to elevate their positions heading into the summer.
