Brock Lesnar Still Listed as Active, WWE Treating WrestleMania Exit as an Angle

WWE.com recently moved Brock Lesnar to its alumni section after his WrestleMania 42 loss to Oba Femi, where he left his gloves and boots in the ring and appeared to retire. PWInsider reports that internally Lesnar is still listed as an active performer and considered a “free agent” because he is not assigned to a brand, leading to questions about why he appears on the alumni page rather than WWE’s public free agent roster.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer wrote that company sources have been told to treat Lesnar’s retirement as an angle, with most in WWE believing the exit is not permanent. Meltzer noted Lesnar’s departure was staged to be convincing and suggested many expect a more definitive send-off at this summer’s SummerSlam in Minneapolis.
