Company leaders showed clips of the character and noted Danhausen has become WWE’s No. 2 merchandise seller, with three of his shirt designs ranking among the top five current best-sellers, plus notable mainstream exposure including ESPN appearances and the viral “uncursing” of the New York Knicks.

The praise comes amid a minor controversy over a recent shirt design that critics say may have been created with AI, drawing attention because of Danhausen’s prior anti-AI comments from March 2025. The performer’s crossover appeal was on display again during the NBA Conference Finals when his “uncursing” of the Knicks and subsequent cursing of the Cavaliers coincided with New York’s dramatic 22-point fourth-quarter comeback and overtime win.
