Eric Bischoff Slams Three-Hour Weekly Wrestling Shows
Former WWE and WCW executive Eric Bischoff has criticized the growing trend of three-hour weekly television in wrestling, arguing that the extended runtime creates serious programming problems for promotions. Bischoff warned that stretching content to fill 180 minutes can dilute the quality of storytelling and make it harder to keep viewers engaged.
He said the format complicates pacing, segment variety and overall show structure, suggesting that shorter, more tightly produced broadcasts could better serve both talent and audiences. Bischoff’s comments add to an ongoing debate about the sustainability and creative impact of longer weekly wrestling shows.
