John Cena Compares OVW Four to WWE’s New Young Talent
John Cena has drawn parallels between the OVW Four — himself, Randy Orton, Batista and Brock Lesnar — and the current generation of WWE performers, telling CBS Sports and SHAK Wrestling that the original group’s unusual longevity occupied opportunities that will now open as veterans step back. Cena called that class “an anomaly of longevity and success,” noting that new spots will go to the most seasoned performers who connect with fans while also leaving room for younger champions because WWE is “loaded with youth, speed, and talent.”
Cena also expressed enthusiasm for NXT newcomer Mason Rook, admitting he’s a fan and even joining in the chant, “He’s big. He’s bad. He’ll bodyslam your dad.” Rook, who recently arrived from the British independent scene, has already become a talking point among the NXT roster as he begins his WWE run.
