Marty Jannetty’s Family Confirms Below‑the‑Knee Amputation, Requests Privacy
Marty Jannetty’s family issued a statement addressing the recent circulation of medical photos and speculation, confirming that Jannetty underwent a below‑the‑knee amputation on April 1, 2026. The family said the photo circulating online is authentic and was taken by his wife to document his medical journey; Dr. Leland McCluskey removed infected bone, the surgery went as expected, and Marty is now focused on recovery, pain management and long‑term healing while the family requests privacy.
The statement thanked supporters for their concern and said a more detailed update will be provided when the family is ready. Separately, commentator Eddy Mansfield has argued Jannetty — known for his early‑1990s run and tag team with Shawn Michaels — deserves induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, with Michaels serving as his introducer.
