Matt Hardy Reveals Details on Dark Side of the Ring Season 7 TNA/Jeff Jarrett Documentary

On his podcast, Matt Hardy shared new information about the season seven premiere of Dark Side of the Ring, which returns to Vice TV July 7 with a three-part documentary focused on TNA Wrestling and founder Jeff Jarrett. Hardy said he and his brother Jeff recorded long-form, two-plus hour interviews in Las Vegas discussing Jarrett’s personal tragedies — including the loss of his first wife Jill and friend Owen Hart — as well as his battle with addiction and the series’ redemptive framing.

Hardy also suggested the project could be the “biggest star power” episode the series has produced and spoke positively about TNA’s present condition, calling the promotion “thriving” on AMC and noting its storyline arcs up through WrestleMania 33. The first two parts air July 7 with the third following the next week; season seven will also feature episodes on Paul Orndorff, Big Boss Man, Missy Hyatt, the Samoa Joe vs. Necro Butcher match, Zach Gowen and The Renegade.
