But threat after threat, attack after attack, I have made it my mission to prove Tate Wilder is not one to lay down.” Kam says Tate keeps getting back up like he loves punishment. But if that’s the case, then Tate’s in for a good night, because Kam’s gonna put an end to Tate for good.

Tate says tonight, this dance they’ve been doing, it comes to an end on Tate’s terms cuz he’ll put Kam down. Get ready for a wild ride! Kam says buckle up, buddy, cuz it’s Showtime! This grudge has evolved, but who will survive to see the end?

Anya Rune VS Layla Diggs w/ Masyn Holiday!

It was three weeks ago that The Main Character took a loss in a tag match, and then her tag partner, Gianna Capri, heaped on the blame. Anya wants to prove herself, but can she win now that it’s 1v1? Or will Layla prove she’s “The Total Package?”

The bell rings and the fans rally. The two tie up, Layla powers Anya back, but Anya arm-drags her away. Anya headlocks, hits a takeover, and shouts, “Uwu~!” Layla rolls to a cover, ONE! Anya holds onto the headlock, and we see Gianna Capri and Veronica Haven are watching from the VIP Lounge. Haven is cheering Anya on, Capri seems a bit more judgmental while wearing a very big mink coat. Layla powers up and out, but Anya ducks ‘n’ dodges to roll Layla up, ONE! Anya arm-drags again, and she clamps onto the armlock. The fans rally as Layla fights up, and she arm-drags Anya away. The fans cheer, Layla runs up, LEG LARIAT! Cover, TWO!

The fans cheer, but Layla clamps onto Anya with a full nelson. The fans rally up and Anya rises. Anya slips around to watch the nelson onto Layla, but Layla breaks free to switch it back. Anya endures, drops down, and she victory rolls Layla, ONE! Layla runs up but into an UP KICK! Anya then slips around, backslides, TWO! Layla SOBATS, front kicks, and ENZIGIRIS! Down goes Anya, but Layla adds a Regal Knee Drop, a Leg Drop, and an ELBOW DROP! Cover, TWO! Anya survives that hat trick but Layla brings her around to whip. Layla runs in at the corner, SHINING WIZARD! Layla shoves Anya down, covers, TWO!

Layla stays on Anya with another full nelson. Anya endures, the fans rally, and Anya fights up. Anya drops, but Layla rolls Anya first! Layla runs up in the corner, but Anya dodges the knee to kick the knee out! Then she ROCKS Layla with forearm after forearm, and a ROLLING CHOP! Then she DECKS Layla with a forearm! Layla goes to a corner, Anya takes the gauntlets off, UPPERCUT! ROUNDHOUSE! Anya fires up, she wrenches and NECKBREAKER DROPS! Cover, TWO! Layla toughs it out but Anya brings her up. Anya fireman’s carries, Layla slips free and shoves, then she ducks the backhand! Layla handsprings to dodge and PELE!

The fans fire up as Layla hurries to cover, TWO! Anya survives, Layla & Masyn are both frustrated, but then Layla drags Anya over to STANDING MOONSAULT! Layla then goes up, up, and MOONSAULTS! Cover, Layla wins!

Layla dug deep and flew high to get another big win! Will Layla soon go for that Evolve Women’s Championship? Wait, Capri storms into the ring to say Anya failed again! Capri keeps harping on Anya for being a loser, but then Masyn tells Capri to shut up! She has gone and pissed Masyn off now. No one wants to hear all that. Capri says yeah, yeah, whatever. Haven is stunned that The Sauce just got sassed! Will Masyn make sure to humble Capri and her bad attitude?

Evolve hears from Foreman Timothy Thatcher.

He’s checking his pencil holder, and apparently there’s a fork in there? Thatcher says, “I wear a lot of different hats around here. I am the Foreman of WWE Evolve, but I’m also still active on the independent wrestling scene, as well as working for WWE ID as a ‘Player Coach.’ Now, those ID talents that you see here on Evolve, they’re available to wrestle for you at your local independent. We’ve even seen Evolve Champion, Aaron Rourke, defend the title in ID Showcases hosted by Future Stars of Wrestling and Beyond Wrestling.

“There’s a lot of exciting independents about. There’s Reality of Wrestling, there’s Rocky Mountain Pro, there’s Freelance Wrestling, and there’s Memphis Wrestling, and that’s just to name a few. When I come to your town, not only am I there to test my opponent, I’m also there to scout, because you never know when a new prospect is gonna be ID’d. Alright, then, haul away! Let’s get back to work!” When and where will The Foreman go, and who will he find worthy of the program?

“Starboy” Chazz Hall VS CJ Valor w/ The Mog Squad!

Speaking of WWE ID, the WWE ID Champion refused to join “Main Man Energy” Max Abrams and his goons, and then got beat up for it. The Squad is backstage feeling good, and Max asks them, “You know who’s completely mogging the 1.0’s? The Mog Squad!” Santi Rivera says y’know who is all chalked up with no aura? It’s Gal! HAH! Where he even at? Not even booked! Well, Aaron Rourke is booked, so… But y’know what? It’s time to handle Starboy! Go make light work of him, CJ, so they can hit the town and mog all these Chad Lites! CJ says he’s got this, the boys can hit the tanning beds. He’ll catch up to them later.

CJ makes his entrance, but will he prove he’s a true alpha? Or will he feel like a beta after losing to The Denim Dragon?

The bell rings and the fans cheer Starboy on. They circle, tie up, and CJ THROWS Starboy down! CJ taunts Starboy while he flexes, and the two reset. They tie up, Starboy waistlocks then headlocks, but CJ powers up and out. CJ RUNS Starboy over, and he grins as he paces around Starboy. CJ deadlift gut wrenches, but Starboy slips free, runs, but into a military press. Starboy slips free again, CJ bucks the O’Conner but Starboy handsprings through! Starboy hurdles then JUMP SOBATS! CJ goes to a corner while the fans fire up, and Starboy climbs up to rain down fists! The fans count along, but CJ SHOVES Starboy away at 5 of 10.

CJ runs up, but Starboy WHEEL KICKS him down, then air guitars! The fans rally as Starboy brings CJ up. Starboy cravats, CJ shoves him away, and Starboy goes up and out to the apron. CJ runs up, Starboy RAMS low, then he slingshots up and over! Starboy mule kicks, cravats, and SLICED- NO, CJ stops the bread to SNAKE EYES! CJ runs and CLOBBERS Starboy! Starboy flounders around, shakes out the stars, but CJ stalks him like prey. CJ ROCKS Starboy, stomps him, then ROCKS him again. The fans boo but CJ whips corner to corner. Starboy hits buckles hard, then CJ SNAP POWERSLAMS! Cover, TWO!

The fans boo CJ but he stalks Starboy. CJ CLUBS Starboy, ROCKS him, then has him in a corner. CJ LARIATS, then talks trash. CJ slaps Starboy around, eggs him on, but Starboy SLAPS back! Starboy fires hands, but CJ ROCKS him with just one! The fans rally for Starboy as CJ whips him, then military presses! CJ DROPS Starboy, then grins as he struts around. The fans boo as CJ air guitars rather poorly, but he stomps Starboy and covers, TWO! CJ clamps onto Starboy with a chinlock but the fans rally up. Starboy fights up, fires body shots, but CJ THROWS him down for an ELBOW DROP! CJ clamps on with a neck wrench but the fans rally as Starboy endures.

Starboy fights up, fires body shots, then ROCKS him! CJ KNEES Starboy low, UPPERCUTS, then HEADBUTTS! CJ runs, but Starboy avoids the elbow drop! Then Starboy KICKS, SOBATS, but CJ reverses the whip. Starboy ducks ‘n’ dodges, tries a sunset flip, but CJ stays up! Starboy avoids stomp after stomp, but CJ YANKS him up! Starboy wheelbarrows to JAWBREAKER! And ROUNDHOUSE! Starboy whips, CJ reverses, but Starboy dodges in the corner! CJ hits buckles, Starboy goes up, springboard tilt-o-whirl RANA! Starboy keeps moving, he ducks ‘n’ dodges to ROUNDHOUSE again! ASAI DDT! And the straps come down!

The fans cheer as Starboy lines up a shot, ASAI MOONSAULT! The fans fire up as Starboy hurries to put CJ in the ring! CJ flounders, Starboy goes up, CROSSBODY caught! Fireman’s carry, pop-up, but Starboy fires hands! then a flips to DDT and cradle! TWO!! CJ survives that wild move, but Starboy hits a DREAMCAST KICK! Laynie Luck talks with Wendy Choo.

The ID Women’s Champion tells the Evolve Women’s Champion that two weeks ago, it was supposed to be their moment: Wendy’s first title defense, and Laynie’s biggest title opportunity yet. Wendy agrees there. Laynie appreciates what Wendy was trying to do, but obviously how it went down was not what either of them wanted. Wendy agrees again, but Sloane & Nikkita have tried to ruin every single moment since Wendy’s been champ. Wendy gets it is hard to get opportunities, but damn, they didn’t have to do all that. Laynie says agreed! If those two want an opportunity, and Laynie wants revenge, so…

Wendy says she sees where Laynie is going. Nikkita, Sloane, everyone is sick of your sneak attacks. Since Nikkita & Sloane are “vibing” so well together, how about we settle it in the ring with a tag team match? Laynie loves it! The champs are united, but will they be able to humble their would-be challengers? Or will someone earn a golden ticket to the top?

Chuey Martinez is in the ring.

Chuey has the fans make some noise, because who is ready for a contract signing? Let’s bring out first, the #1 contender, Tristan Angels! The fans boo as the arrogant Mr. England makes his entrance. Tristan shakes Chuey’s hand, then Chuey introduces the champion, Aaron Rourke! The fans cheer as The Dime Piece struts his stuff out to the ring. They join Chuey at the table, and Chuey points out Tristan won the Fatal 4 Way to give him this chance against the champion. He did earn it, but now let’s make it official by signing the contract. Tristan takes a mic, the fans say, “Order! Order!” Tristan says he says that, not them!

Tristan continues by saying there are some people here in Evolve who believe Aaron Rourke’s work with the Evolve Championship is commendable. The fans cheer, they’re some of those people. But Tristan says listen to him when he’s talking. It is true, Aaron became an overnight success when he dethroned the inaugural champion. And somehow, someway, he has blinded the IDIOTS with his sparkles and sequins! Aaron has convinced them all the “clock in,” whatever that means. But he has not convinced Tristan. Tristan does not think Aaron’s work is commendable, he’s just a very lucky man, lucky that Tristan hadn’t debuted sooner!

Because if he had, none of whatever this is would have ever happened! The fans boo but Tristan calls for order. But like Chuey just said, Tristan earned this opportunity to take the title from Aaron, and that is exactly what he’ll do. And whilst he is out it, he will BURN Sparkle City to the ground! Tristan signs his part, then slides the contract over. Tristan tells Aaron to sign his belt away. Aaron signs his part first, then says he just wants to check: Is Tristan done? Did he get it all out? Because everyone is tired of hearing Tristan speak. The fans cheer that! Aaron is pretty sure they wanna hear him speak. The fans also cheer that!

Aaron says Tristan the most beautiful man in England. Really? That’s cute. But hey, blondie, pay attention. Aaron loves nicknames, they’re fun. From now on, call Aaron, “Mr. Evolve.” The fans cheer that! Aaron likes that, that’s fun. Tristan mockingly asks if he wants a scarf and Aaron says no, thanks. But he does wanna know, how much is it costing WWE in mirrors when Tristan’s face breaks each and every one as he walks by one? Just curious. The fans chant “UGLY! UGLY!” Tristan says just get on with it! Aaron says well, everyone here has #ClockedIt that their beauty standards are different.

For Aaron, beauty is the inner beauty, how you treat people, uplift them. Not surprising, Tristan has done none of that. Truthfully, Tristan is and will always be nothing than an ugly narcissist! Tristan is furious, he and Aaron step up but Chuey calls for security. The special security Thatcher got is here, and while they stand between champion and challenger, Tristan gets on their nerves by being shoulder to shoulder with them. Special security SHOVES Tristan down! The fans like that! Tristan bails out of the ring in a huff, and now Harlem Lewis is here! Chuey says if Harlem is here to challenge the champion, too late, Aaron has a title match set.

No, this isn’t about Aaron. Their time will come, wait patiently. But Harlem is here because he just talked with Thatcher. It is official: Harlem VS Braxton 1v1! And Brax, you better get the best cosmetic surgeon money can buy because Harlem is gonna bust your face up! Oh, well now ELIJAH HOLYFIELD is here! He says he’s gonna knock some fools out, but for now, he’s checkin’ the scene. Chuey likes it! Evolve is only growing bigger, meaner, and stronger, but who proves they’re the real alpha male?

Nikkita Lyons and Sloane Jacobs talk backstage.

#BigKatKita asks Notorious J what she’s doing on her phone, Wendy & Laynie are literally throwing out opportunities and yet she’s glued to her screen? Sloane says relax, she’s ordering boxes of tissues so Wendy & Laynie have something to cry into. Lyons says they ruined Wendy’s first title defense, boohoo~! Sloane does her best to harmonize, doesn’t really hit the right note. But she says it doesn’t matter, she’s faced Laynie Luck all over the US on the independents, and nothing brings her more joy than watching Laynie’s big moment be ruined. Then it’ll be back to Yeehaw, Illinois for Laynie!

Anyways, more importantly, Lyons knocked out three of the toughest women in that Eliminator Gauntlet, and Wendy just got lucky. So ridiculous! Sloane agrees, and Lyons deserves to be Evolve Women’s Champion. they’re gonna accept this challenge and get Lyons right back in contention. And Wendy, once Lyons pins you, she gets that title match! Will Kita Multimedia go viral as she grabs herself a golden ticket? Or will she need more than luck and a sidekick to defeat Wendy & Laynie?

Tate Wilder VS Kam Hendrix!

Both men already spoke their minds, so now it’s time to put up or shut up! Will the Modern Day Cowboy finally humble Kam and ride off into the sunset? Or will Evolve be all about Lights, Kam, Action?

The introductions are made for this main even grudge match, and we see who’s ready to get wild!

The bell rings and the fans cheer Tate on as he stares Kam down. Tate and Kam then run up and DOUBLE CROSSBODIES collide! Then they get up, Tate blocks a shot to fire haymakers and kicks! Tate UPPERCUTS Kam, Kam puts Tate in the corner, but Tate dodges to fire haymakers again. Tate whips, Kam reverses, but Tate goes up and over. Tate ducks ‘n’ dodges to RUN Kam over! The fans fire up as Tate runs up, but Kam puts him on the apron. Tate ROCKS Kam, slingshots, but Kam catches him and CLUBS him down! Kam stomps Tate out of the ring, drags him up through the ropes, and hits a DRAPING KNEE SMASH!

Tate tumbles out of the ring but Kam pursues. Kam brings Tate around, CLUBS him, and the fans rally up. Kam stands Tate up but Tate fires hands! Kam KNEES Tate low, then hauls him up to APRON SUPLEX! Tate flops back to the floor, Kam refreshes the ring count, and Kam scuffs Tate. The fans rally, the count starts again, but Kam THROWS Tate over railing! Tate tumbles near the VIP Lounge, Elijah checks on him, but Kam refreshes the count again. Kam drags Tate up, talks some trash, and makes Tate look in the camera. But Tate HOTSHOTS Kam off railing! They stumble into the VIP Lounge as they throw hands!

Kam tumbles into the VIP Lounge camera mounted there, but they keep throwing hands! The fans fire up as Tate then DUMPS Kam back to ringside! Tam goes up onto the couch, takes aim, and CROSSBODIES! Down goes Kam and the fans fire up! Tate refreshes the ring count, then drags Kam up to the apron. Kam ELBOWS Tate away, so Tate runs up, but Kam BACKDROPS him onto the apron! Tate flops back down and Kam roars, but the fans boo as Evolve goes to break.

Evolve returns once more and Kam stomps Tate around. The fans boo more but Kam just brings Tate up to reel him in. Kam suplexes for a BROKEN ARROW! Cover, TWO! Tate is tougher than that, but Kam smothers him into the mat! The fans rally, but Kam CLUBS Tate and clamps on a COBRA CLUTCH! Tate fights up, up, and around, but Kam THROWS him down by his hair! Cover, TWO! Tate toughs it out but Kam covers again, TWO! Another cover, ONE! Kam is frustrated with Tate’s toughness, and he pie faces Tate around. Tate huffs ‘n’ puffs but Kam CLUBS him again and again. Kam puts Tate in a corner, BODY BLOWS, but Tate shoves back.

Kam runs up, Tate BOOTS him, then ELBOWS! Tate fires haymakers, then whips, but Kam reverses. Tate CLOBBERS Kam, CLOBBERS him again, then dodges to FLYING FOREARM! The fans fire up for the turn and NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Kam survives but the fans rally for Tate. Tate brings Kam up, whips him, but Kam reverses to SPINEBUSTER! Kam rolls Tate, reels him in, and lifts again, SIT-DOWN POWERBOMB! Cover, TWO! The fans are fired up as Tate survives! Tate and Kam stir as the fans rally up, and they meet at center. They go forehead to forehead, but then they both fall back down!

The fans rally as Tate and Kam sit up again, and Tate fires a forearm! Kam ROCKS Tate with a haymaker! Tate shakes that off to ROCK Kam! Kam ROCKS Tate! They stand, Tate ROCKS Kam! Kam mule kicks, jump punches, but Tate mule kicks, ROCKS, and UPPERCUTS! Kam shoves Tate, then catches him for- NO, Tate slips free to then back suplex! Tate goes up, up, and WILD RIDE MOONSAULT! Cover, TWO!! Kam survives and Tate is shocked! The fans rally for Tate as he drags Kam over, but then Harley Riggins appears! Gnarly Harley is here after all, and the distraction lets Kam RAM Tate into the buckles!

Kam reels Tate in, but then someone DROPKICKS Harley outta nowhere! That’s Romeo Moreno! Tate fights free of Kam to suplex! Kam is down, Tate goes up, and from a long way away, Tate hits a TWISTING SPLASH! Cover, Tate wins!

Winner: Tate Wilder, by pinfall

Tate finally gets revenge with a win in the main event! Will Tate finally be able to move on from these bullies towards a title opportunity?

Oh, hold on, Thatcher is ringside now, talking with Elijah Holyfield. Chuey hurries over and asks what this means, and The Foreman says he’ll address it next week. See you then! #TubiContinued for Evolve, what changes could be coming with the changing of the seasons?

My Thoughts:

A very good Evolve, some intriguing moves story wise. Great for Layla to get another win, and Capri is adding Heel Heat by hating on Anya. Masyn stepping up makes me think Masyn VS Capri happens as a match, and we’ll ultimately get Capri VS Anya to settle their issue. Good promos from Laynie, Wendy, Nikkita and Sloane to set up their tag match, though we knew it was coming. The obvious move would be for Lyons to win, cheating or otherwise, and Lyons VS Wendy is the match, but I wonder if Sloane snipes the win from her to take that match instead. There are no Evolve Women’s Tag titles, so Heel tag teams don’t really have reasons to stick together.

Well, I suppose that logic is undercut by having factions like Mog Squad. Decent promo from them before CJ VS Starboy, but a great match from CJ and Starboy. Great win for Starboy, and I still think we get Mog Squad VS Starboy, Romeo Moreno, It’s Gal, and Lince Dorado for a great 8 Man Tag. That’s probably best case scenario, though, it feels like maybe just a Six Man Tag if Romeo is moving over to the story Tate has going with Kam & Harley. This uncertain/inconsistent booking is what happens when someone up the chain lets go of Evolve people like Luca Crusifino without checking if they’re in story or not.

But speaking of Tate, at least we got a great match from him and Kam that included Harley and now Romeo on the outside. Maybe they should count this as a blowoff so that Kam can move away from Evolve since he’s already doing things on NXT. Though, same goes for Tate and Romeo. Again, a lot of people were let go, that means others have to move up outta nowhere. Very good promo from Thatcher to plug WWE ID and their participating indies, but also really interesting seeing Elijah Holyfield make his Evolve debut. He was on LFG, and he clearly did very well if he’s still here. He’ll be quite the addition to the roster here.

And very good contract signing segment, with good promos from both Tristan and Aaron, and then the surprise appearances of Harlem and Elijah. I did like Aaron saying he’s “Mr. Evolve,” I wonder if this predates them coming up with the idea of “Shiloh Hill is Mr. NXT.” Tristan is already involved on NXT, maybe that’s because they knew he wasn’t going to beat Aaron for the Evolve title…? Harlem VS Braxton will also be good stuff, not sure who wins it, but maybe that winner could be poised for a 1v1 rematch with Aaron.
