Sami Zayn Crashes Gingerbread Man Funeral on SmackDown, Laid Out by Lil Yachty and Trick Williams
Following last week’s storyline in which Sami Zayn seemingly killed The Gingerbread Man, Trick Williams agreed to put his United States Title on the line against Zayn at WWE Backlash. The angle has continued to escalate, turning a personal grudge into a high-stakes title match for Backlash.
On the May 8 episode of SmackDown, a funeral was held for The Gingerbread Man with numerous Superstars in attendance to pay their respects. The proceedings were interrupted when Zayn crashed the ceremony and was subsequently laid out by rapper Lil Yachty and reigning U.S. Champion Trick Williams, further fuelling the animosity ahead of their Backlash showdown.
