Teddy Long Denies Rumor About Returning as WWE SmackDown General Manager
A recent rumor suggested Teddy Long would return as general manager of SmackDown once the show expands back to a two-hour format this summer, but Long addressed and denied those claims on his Road Trippin podcast. The longtime WWE personality said he has no information about such a return and pushed back on the circulating reports.
“I have no idea. I know nothing about it. WWE has not contacted me, called me, or anything,” Long said, making it clear he hasn’t been approached about a SmackDown role and distancing himself from the originators of the rumor.

WWE Announces 2026 Summer House Shows; Tickets Expected to Be More Affordable
WWE has announced a 10-date Summer Tour for July and August 2026, with main roster house shows scheduled in Las Cruces, Albuquerque, Allentown, Stockton, Bakersfield, Springfield, Fairfax, Manchester, Savannah and North Charleston. Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer reports the company intends to price these non-televised events “far more affordable” than televised shows, offering a potentially family-friendly alternative to pricier Raw and premium events.
Alvarez also noted the value of house shows for talent development, saying they provide important live-ring experience and should remain a staple of professional wrestling. Fans should monitor local venues and WWE’s official channels for exact on-sale information and ticket details as the tour approaches.

WWE To Push Fatal Influence After Impressing Creative Team
According to a new report, WWE’s creative team has been impressed by the faction Fatal Influence and plans to feature the group more prominently on programming. The change in creative direction suggests the group’s recent work and crowd reactions have caught the attention of decision-makers backstage.
The reported shift could lead to increased television time, stronger storyline placement, and potential roles on upcoming pay-per-views as WWE looks to capitalize on the momentum. Fans can likely expect to see Fatal Influence elevated in the coming weeks as creative tests how far to push the act.
