Andrew’s MLW Fusion Results & Match Ratings: 6.6.2026

When my biggest complaint with last week was that the tapings were done four months ago, I think that’s a pretty good indicator the product was damn good. Fusion always had good production and it still looks great, with more of an 80s Synthwave musical theme gimmick.

I suppose my only other complaint was how most of the show feels more like 2010 TNA with all the “WWE leftovers” on the show. But 2010 TNA was peak, and you need more established talent to bring in eyes, so it’s forgivable for a while.

Let’s see what we get out of the title matches!

Results:

Killer Kross and Scarlett walk out to open the show. We know front last week that Matt Riddle signed his name for a shot at the Champ. People have been calling him the Blood King of the Battle Riot, he’s even wearing his own Blood King shirt. Kind of a neat moniker, I’m okay with that. The babyface promo from Kross is interesting, talking about never giving up when you feel like the world has moved on, puts over the fans who make sacrifices to support wrestling. A saliant and surprisingly sweet promo, punctuated with a little more grit with the “Welcome to the New Beginning”. 

MLW Women’s World Featherweight Championship: Shoko Nakajima (c) vs Shotzi Blackheart

I remember watching Shoko beat Delmi Exo for the title about a year prior at Battle Riot VII. Shoko has been a great champion, but Shotzi is Shotzi..so let’s take care of business!

Early on it’s feeling out, Standing switches, Headlocks, Arm Wringers, nothing flashy. They both show interesting flexibility getting out of Headlocks, but Soko takes an Arm Bar into a Hurricanrana for a near fall. He gymnastics split into the Middle Rope Springboard Frankensteiner has Shoko rolling. Shotzi manages to stall Shoko in the corner, hits the Tiger Feint, then Shoko slides between Shotzi’s legs and begs off. Shotzi pauses and then Shoko lands a good kick and Snapmare into a Senton for two. Shoko hits the Green Killer! Ironic to hit it on Shotzi who’s…well…green. Shotzi kicks out at 1, so Shoko keeps with Axe Handles and Kicks. Shoko takes a Sunset Flip and transitions it into a Half Crab. Shotzi grabs the bottom rope but then Shoko Rocket Launcher’s Shotzi’s throat into the rope.

Shotzi with a powerful kick out sends Shoko flying to the outside. Shotzi tries to keep things going, but Shoko hits her own Tiger Feint, into a Dive. When Shoko plays to the crowd Shotzi fires into her own dive. Shotzi hits a German Suplex into a weird variation of the Tiger Suplex Hold when Shoko tries to fight the next on off. A rope run confuses Shotzi as Shoko uses the ropes to avoid things and sweep the legs. Shoko tries another Tiger Feint, but Shotzi grabs the legs! Shotzi goes for a Boston Crad, but Shoko goes to the ropes. Shotzi and Shoko showing their movesets are as similar as their names. Shotzi wants the Diving Senton, but Shoko cuts her off, Avalanche Frankensteiner! Shoko goes up for her own Diving Senton, but now Shotzi cuts off Shoko! Superplex from Shotzi! They get to their knees and do Fighting Spirit from kneeling.

Shotzi tries the Question Mark Kick but misses, Shoko rocks Shotzi. Shoko goes for the Middle Rope Tiger Feint, but Shotzi ducks! So Shoko continues the momentum and goes for the low rope Tiger Feint in the same motion! Northern Lights Suplex Hold is only a two count! Double Arm DDT, into Diving Senton, but Shoko misses! Question Mark Kick hits! TKO Facebuster from Shotzi! SHOTZI SENTON! Shotzi is your new champion!

Diego Hill w/ Blue Panther vs Mistico

While El Grande Americano is the hottest Luchador right now, Mistico is still the biggest active name. If you only remember he’s terrible WWE Sin Cara run, you’re doing yourself a disservice. 

They shake hands, so that let’s us understand that it’s a double babyface situation. A Collar and Elbow tie up goes nowhere, Mistco kicks things off with a rope run spot that is a little sloppy from Diego. A Frankensteiner spot sends Mistico to powder, Diego hits a Sasuke Special, and the crowd responds well. Only a two count of course because he spend too much time hyping himself up. Mistico starts with a few kicks to ground Diego, and then a quick near fall, into a few more strikes and kicks. Mistco goes for a Head and Arm Cradle for only two, as Diego fires, a punch of chops drops Mistico. Diego throws Mistico into the ropes but Mistico hits a Back Handspring Elbow, into a Flying Crossbody! Frankensteiner from Mistico sends Diego to powder and then hits his own Dive.

Mistico with a simple Scoop Slam, Senton Atomico for only two. Mistico sets up Diego, plays to the crowd and hits a Gamengiri that takes too long, an Enzuigiri and tries to follow it up with a Stinger Splash but misses! Diego hits the Phoenix Splash for only two! The whole sequence looks weird with their strikes, it’s slow, awkward and their chemistry is not good. Too long setting up from both of them, Diego stands up Mistico hits an Enzuigiri. Mistico fires, hits a few Gamengiris and then a sloppy Spanish Fly. Canadian Destroyer after the fact, Mistico goes up, a weird looking Frog Splash…and that’s the match.

This was more of a bad Sin Cara match than a legendary Mistico match. Even though Mistico puts over Diego and Blue Panther after the match, objectively, it’s just another example of what’s wrong with modern wrestling. Diego can’t utilize psychology, so when the gymnastics routine doesn’t work out right, it becomes a chore to watch.

Kushida and Okumura are seen beating down Alan Angels in the back. This was to show that Okumura has joined Contra, the same as Kushida did. 

MLW World Tag Team Titles Double Tables Match: The Skyscrapers (c) vs The Good Brothers

The Good Brothers attack the Skyscrapers during their entrance. The bell rings and the match starts off with a brawl. LG is Headlock walking Dyer through the crowd, we see Karl lighting up Dijak with chairs. The shots jump back and forth, Dyer turns things around on LG for a moment, before a few fan assisted beer cups help him out. Karl takes out the trash over Dijak’s head, and we’ve seen zero offense from Dijak. Dyer throws LG into the merch table and finally has a moment to breathe. Karl hits a few “Too Sweets” before Uppercutting Dijak back into the crowd. LG comes up from the merch table with color, and he starts taking a chair to Dyer. The crowd is very hot for the Good Brothers.

LG and Karl both slide in a table from different sides, LG and Karl grab even more tables, so Dijak finally starts to throw some strikes and remember he’s allowed to get in offense. As Karl is taunting his advantage over Dyer, Dijak hits Karl with a Superkick. Skyscrapers are in charge as we head to the commercial break. Two tables get placed in the corners, Dyer Sabu’s a Chair at LG’s head and it ricochet’s towards commentary and Filthy Tom Lawlor catches the chair. Cool spot for Tom, and obviously just freakish happenstance.

Dyer drops Karl across the guardrail, while Dijak smashes a bottle into LG’s face. Double goozle, Karl goes up, but he fights them off. Karl making a valiant effort but eats a Big Boot from Dijak. LG slides in enraged and still bleeding. LG wants to Double Chokeslam the Skyscrapers, but they counter it and the Skyscrapers put LG through the first table! Skyscrapers are up 1-0

Karl flips them off from the outside, manages to crotch Dijak, Shotgun kick Dyer. Dyer tries a Spear, but Karl side steps him and sends Dyer through the table! Tables Tied 1-1

Dijak and Karl stand off, strike exchange, Dijak wants a quick goozle but Karl stops him, Chops and a Pump Kick. Karl looking for the Killshot, but Dyer grabs Karl’s ankle! The delay allows Dijak to grab Karl and throw him through a corner propped table! Skyscrapers retain!

They keep brawling after the match, so their war may not be over!

Overall Score: 7/10

While the Mistico match fell a bit flat, the show is still a very easy watch for being a little more than an hour. Shotzi and Shoko had a great match and the tag match was a solid brawling hardcore tornado match. Shotzi being the champion is great for MLW since she was an Indie darling before her time in WWE, and then even if she was underutilized, people still loved Shotzi’s ballsy cosplay gimmick. Not like Shoko was bad, she’s fun and really solid, but her particular style doesn’t always correlate to a larger market. Plus we know that MLW has a working relationship with Stardom now, so maybe that means we won’t see any more TJP girls until the cross promotion ends.

Either way, great production, decent to really good matches. Aries had a great promo bringing back the Jeff Jarrett drunken tortilla toss just to add insult to Blue Panther. Kushida being a heel is something I’m not sure how I feel about, but Contra is not only a great video game, I always liked the Wrestling Terrorists idea.

It’s nice that MLW is back with some momentum and things for returning fans to have some nostalgia for.
