8 Man Tag: Adam Priest, Dalton Castle & The Outrunners VS Dralistico & The Lethal Twist!

#AllGenresAdam is ready to jam with some 1980s retro as he teams with the NEW ROH World Six Man Tag Team Champions, going against the Prince of Silver & Gold, who teams with Vanilla Baby, Big Shotty & The Franchise Player! Will Priest, The Peacock, Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd go break some hearts? Or will Dralistico help Blake Christian, Lee Johnson & Jay Lethal keep it tranquilo?

The teams sort out and Castle steps up to Lethal. The Code of Honor is kept, the bell rings, and the fans cheer as the two icons of honor circle. They feel things out, tie up, and are in a deadlock. Lethal powers Castle back but Castle headlocks. Lethal puts Castle in a corner, Castle turns things around, and the ref counts. Castle backs off, but Lethal shoves him! Castle runs up but Lethal dodges! Lethal runs up but Castle dodges! And then Lethal dodges Castle again, only for Castle to dodge Lethal again, and repeat! And repeat! And repeat! The fans cheer as the dodges keep going and going, then Castle SOUTHPAW LARIATS!

The fans cheer while Castle struts, shimmies and shakes! Castle then brings Lethal up, but Lethal KNEES low! Tag to Blake and he storms up, but into a waistlock and SLAM! Castle then drags Blake up, tags Truth, and the fans cheer as Truth takes the handoff to wrench an arm. Blake pulls Truth’s hair, puts him in a corner, then stomps Truth as the ref counts. Blake CHOPS Truth, whips corner to corner, but Truth reverses. Blake goes up and over, handsprings, then arm-drags! Truth arm-drags back! Truth DROPKICKS Blake to ropes, then whips. Blake reverses, hurdles, then drops down to DROPKICK! Truth falls but Blake kips up, and Blake mocks the spin!

The fans boo but Blake taunts Turbo with a middle finger. Blake flips Truth off, too! Truth shoves Blake, dodges, and he CHOPS! The fans cheer as Truth whips Blake. Blake reverses and BOOTS Truth! Blake headlocks but Truth powers up and out. Turbo tags in, BODY BLOW! KNEE LIFT! And BIG back suplex! The fans cheer as Turbo flexes, and he still wears the title belt! The fans chant “Belt Stays On! Belt Stays On!” while Turbo brings Blake up, but Blake SLAPS Turbo! Turbo frowns, Blake is worried, and Turbo scoops Blake! Blake slips free, shoves Turbo away, tags to Lee and Priest! The fans cheer but Blake dodges Priest, and Lee SUPERKICKS!

Blake mule kicks, Lee front kicks, Blake KNEES, and Lee suplexes for the GOURD BUSTER! Oklahoma Roll with a rewind for the SLIDING FOREARM! Castle protests and the fans boo but the damage is done. Lee kicks Priest to a corner, CHOPS him, then whips corner to corner. But Priest comes right back to LARIAT! The fans fire up as Priest UPPERCUTS Lee, then whips him to the corner. Priest CHOPS Lee, whips corner to corner, then CHOPS again! The fans “WOO~” for Priest, and he climbs up the corner. Priest rains down fists, and the fans count along, but Dralistico runs up at 7! Priest stops Dralistico, and rains fists down on him!

The fans cheer and count along as Priest alternates between Lee and Dralistico, and he still gets to TEN! Then a meeting of the minds for good measure! Priest shouts “ROLL TIDE!” and the fans cheer that! Priest CLAWS Lee’s back, then brings him up for a BIG back suplex! But Lee lands out, and wait, Lee YANKS Truth from the apron! The fans boo but in the distraction, Lethal uses one of the other title belts to CHOP BLOCK Castle! Blake runs, basement 619 on Priest! Lee DROPKICKS Priest outta the Tree while Blake ASAI MOONSAULTS Turbo! The fans boo but Blake mockingly says yeehaw. Lee brings Priest up, bumps him off buckles, then tags Dralistico. They mug Priest, then Dralistico puts Priest in a corner. Dralistico hushes the fans so they can hear the CHOP! Priest is stinging but he HEADBUTTS back! Dralistico KICKS, KICKS, KICKS, then stomps, stomps, stomps! The fans boo but Dralistico soaks up the heat. The fans fire up again and Turbo joins in. Truth steps in, then Castle points to Priest! Tag to Priest, the fans fire up, and all four wind it up! But The Twist goes after them! The fans boo as The Twist throws out Castle & The Outrunners! Those trios brawl outside, leaving Priest and Dralistico behind!

Dralistico snatches Priest to a roll-up! TWO, and Dralistico CHOPS! Priest CHOPS! Dralistico CHOPS again, but Priest fires a forearm! The shots go back and forth until Dralistico SOBATS! Priest fires an elbow, then UPPERCUT after UPPERCUT! The fans fire up as Priest runs, but Dralistico runs and CRUCIFIX DRIVER! Cover, TWO!! Priest survives and the fans fire up! Winners: Adam Priest, Dalton Castle & The Outrunners, by pinfall

A huge home state victory for the Alabama boy! But will this lead Priest to some golden opportunities here in ROH? Are The Twist and #Castlerunners gonna brawl all the way until their own title showdown?

Caprice Coleman and AR Fox #ChopItUp.

Caprice welcomes us as he sits down with the highest flyer, the hardest worker, THE ROH World Television Champion, AR Fox! Coleman thanks Fox for being here, Fox thanks Coleman for having him. Coleman notes they’ve known each other a long time, and he wants to really have a serious conversation. Fox is one who has had the “slow burn” career. Fox has been in this business for 20 years, and finally, he has a major championship. Coleman wants to walk through the process, if that’s okay. When Fox got the call that he’d be facing Nick Wayne for this title, did it feel different? Or was it just another day?

Fox says it did feel different. There was more hype in this one. There was a bigger vibe to it because he had something to look forward to. So it felt different for sure. Was there a point in the match where Fox thought, “Y’know what? I could win this thing.” Fox says yeah, when the employees of SoFi Arena, maybe not even serious wrestling fans, when Fox saw a group of them huddled up and cheering Fox on, people not even into ROH, that’s when he felt it coming. Coleman says when someone is pouring their heart out, you can feel that, you can see it, you can be inspired by it. Coleman knows Fox won’t say it, but he will: AR Fox is extremely underrated.

And finally, Fox is finally being seen by people and they see who he always was. But how did Fox keep that going when people weren’t seeing it? Fox says he got so obsessed with that at one point that he got stuck. This is his whole world. What else is there for him? He owns a school, so whether he was making it or not, he’d be wrestling no matter what. It’s all he knows. Coleman says Fox is certainly like a father figure or mentor to a lot of people, he’s gotta give him his flowers. Fox appreciates that, a lot of people have been. Fox says he’s trying not to be emotional right now, but Coleman says it’s all good.

That’s what Chop It Up is about, we get to hear these real things. And Fox is someone Coleman has seen work hard for so long, and so many others would’ve given up by now. Fox stayed in the game, Coleman gives Fox his flowers. Coleman knows so many people were watching Fox on the indies, and then someone does something that Fox does, but on the bigger platform, the mainstream, so people think Fox is copying them. How does that feel? Fox says it is indescribable. So many times he’d be home on the couch, and sometimes, as crazy and unbelievable as it sounds, Fox feels it before he sees it. People he’s wrestled on the indies, who have made it to TV or PPV, it’s not just some of Fox’s moves. The longest was about a 45 second sequence Fox has done.

Coleman brings us back to the championship match with Nick Wayne. Fox won, 1-2-3, what’d that feel like? Fox was just excited. He didn’t even know, he thought he was gonna break down or something. But when it happened, he was just lit. Coleman says it was certainly the fruition of everything he’s been through, that this is just the genesis, the start of something he’s deserved for a long time. Fox admits he can’t believe he’s crying right now, but at the same time, it’s because he’s never been able to talk about this stuff with anybody. Fox has people, 100 wrestlers in his DMs, talking about what he did for them, how much they love him, and he never even met some of them!

But in the end, they’re all coming out cuz Fox won the belt. Fox has been here, but the belt did so much for him. He can finally get it off his chest about that, and how people were stealing his stuff. He wasn’t salty about it, he just came up with more stuff, that’s wrestling. Coleman asks who his first call was the night he won, and Fox says it was mom, of course. Mom knows everything up to date, from where he is to who he’s wrestling. Then tell us this: As ROH World TV Champion, what can we expect out of his reign? His goal is to make this THE title, period! That’s it. Coleman feels that. Fox took this long to get it, it’ll take hell to take it from him.

Coleman says he appreciates Fox taking this time, wishes him the best, love ’em. They shake on it, CHYAH! Well, Fox is going hard later tonight with that Fatal 4 Way, will it truly take all three men to stop the Whole Fox’n Show?

Lio Rush speaks.

With his rainbow umbrella, and a light glowing underneath, The Problem Child says, “No, no, no, no, no, no, no, it’s fiiine~! It’s fine! He wants them to know. Yeah! Because he knows. It’s always been him. It’s always been me! The light… in a dark, dark place! A heart… for the one who isn’t whole. Can’t you see? The rain! It’s coming! And it cuts deep. Cuts! Cuts! Cuts! Cuts! No, no, no, cuts! Cuts!” Lio laughs maniacally, but who could he be talking about?

Dalton Castle & The Outrunners debut a new music video?

The Peacock tells his flamingo amigos, “I have… the WANDERLUST!” And so do they! That’s how they got the Six Man Tag Team Championships! They’ll take them around the world, on a trip that will never end! They gotta find their formation! They shake hands for “Shortage of Love,” in 1980s standard definition!

Backstage interview with Viva Van.

Sam Leterna is with the Hellbent Vixen and congratulates her on her latest win, gaining her momentum towards this Women’s Pure Championship. The floor is hers. Viva thanks Sam, and tells Deonna Purrazzo that they’ve met in the ring twice before Deonna was the Pure Champion, and twice before, Viva wasn’t ready. But she’s not the same wrestler anymore. Ever since then, Viva has worked harder, and every time she gets in the ring, she gets better. Deonna is one of the most technical wrestlers in the world, and that’s what makes her lethal. But technical wrestler isn’t new to Viva. She trained at the LA Dojo, she studies the craft, she’s bled for it.

People know her as “The Hellbent Vixen,” but after getting int he ring tonight, they will call her the Hellbent Technician. This isn’t just about having heart anymore. Viva has the skills to back it up. Deonna, Viva respects what you’ve built, but this Women’s Division is changing, and so is Viva. Her match is up next, will Viva prove even a vixen can be Pure? Or will she learn what it is to be a Virtuosa?

ROH Women’s Pure Championship: Deonna Purrazzo VS Viva Van!

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see if the third time’s the charm!

The Code of Honor is kept, the bell rings, and we’re on the clock. Viva and Deonna circle, tie up, and go around. Deonna wrenches, Viva wrenches back, then hammerlocks. Deonna slips through to hammerlock then wristlock. The fans applaud this opening exchange as Viva rolls, wrenches and wristlocks. Deonna rolls, fights up, and slips under to wrench and wristlock back. Deonna puts on the pressure but Viva breaks free, then steps over and hooks Deonna to wrangle her down! Viva has the ARMBAR! Deonna clasps hands, fights up, stacks Viva back, ONE! The fans cheer as the two reset, and the two circle again.

They feel things out, knuckle lock, and Deonna kicks one to wrench the other. Deonna wrangles Viva but Viva keeps her shoulders up. Viva rolls, stands, and uses the ropes to flip through! Viva wrenches back, but Deonna spins through to arm-drag! Deonna has the armlock but Viva endures. We’re just two minutes in as Viva fights up and puts Deonna in a corner. The ref calls the neutral break, Viva whips corner to corner. Deonna goes up, around, then rolls Viva, to then get the arm! FUJIWARA! Viva endures, fights her way forward, and kicks her way to the ROPEBREAK! That is just Viva’s first but the fans applaud as Deonna lets go.

Deonna storms over to Viva as she’s on the apron, but Viva ROCKS Deonna, RAMS low, then slingshots up and over! Viva keeps moving and WHEEL KICKS Deonna down! The fans fire up as Viva hurries to GROUND DRAGON SCREW! Deonna clutches that knee, but Viva is after the leg. Viva twists it in a toehold while standing on the other foot. Deonna kicks free, goes to a corner, but Viva runs up. Viva blocks a boot to DRAGON SCREW! Viva keeps on the toehold, then turns Deonna over to tie up the legs! The fans applaud as Viva pulls on the legs, and she vows the title will be hers! But Deonna reaches back and pulls Viva down! The fans rally as Deonna covers, ONE!

Deonna wrenches, UPPERCUTS the arm, then UPPERCUTS again! And again! Deonna wrenches but Viva ROCKS Deonna! And ELBOWS! And CHOPS! Viva kicks, Deonna blocks, but Viva uses the throw to ROLLING LIGER KICK! Down goes Deonna and Viva hurries to cover, TWO! The fans applaud while Viva goes to a corner. Viva aims, springboards, and FLYING FOREARMS! Cover, TWO! Deonna survives but Viva stays focused. Viva grabs a leg, and she has the STRETCH MUFFLER! Deonna endures, hops up, and rolls, but Viva holds on for a KNEE JAMMER! Then Viva drags Deonna by the leg, rolls, and it’s back tot he STRETCH MUFFLER!

The fans rally as Deonna reaches out! Deonna fights to the ROPEBREAK! That is Deonna’s first as we approach six minutes. Viva refocuses, runs up, but Deonna ELBOWS her away! Viva runs back up, but into a BOOT! Deonna whips, Viva reverses, but Deonna blocks the lariat to LARIAT back! Both women stagger, and DOUBLE BOOTS take them both down! The fans fire up again, and a standing count begins. Deonna slaps her leg while she sits up at 4 of 10, then uses ropes to stand at 7. Viva rises at 8, then she runs up, but into a BOOT! Deonna then FLYING KNEES the arm! Deonna wrenches, clinches, and RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP!

Deonna rolls Viva for the FUJIWARA! Viva endures, rolls, cover, TWO! Deonna KICKS Viva in the side! Deonna revels in the cheers, then she brings Viva up. Deonna reels Viva in, but Viva RAMS her into a corner! Viva RAMS Deonna again and again, stops as the ref counts, and runs back in. Deonna dodges, runs up, but Viva goes up and over to UP KICK! Deonna sputters as Viva puts her back in the corner. Electric Chair Lift, but Deonna fires elbows! Deonna slips down, reels Viva in, but Viva fights the lift! Deonna still powers Viva up, POWERBOMB! And then VENUS DE MILO!!! Viva pops one arm free, but not for long! VIVA TAPS, DEONNA WINS!

Winner: Deonna Purrazzo, by submission (still ROH Women’s Pure Champion)

At just short of nine minutes, The Virtuosa puts this one away! Will Deonna continue to educate ROH on how to be Pure-razzo?

ROH World Television Championship Fatal 4 Way: AR Fox VS Ace Austin VS Angelico VS Sammy Guevara!

As we heard from the champ, he wants to make this title THE title in ROH, and perhaps wrestling as a whole. And what better way than to up the ante? But will facing The Inevitable, The South African Stud, and Everybody’s Favorite Pillar be too much at once? Or will even ROH on YouTube be The Whole Fox’n Show?

The introductions are made, the belt actually just tossed to the ref, and Fox CANNONBALLS onto all his challengers! The fans fire up as the bell rings, and Fox is alone with Sammy. Sammy runs up, Fox puts him on the apron, but Sammy RAMS low! Sammy slingshots but Fox jumps outside! Sammy flops, Fox slingshots back in and SENTONS! Fox then DIVES onto Angelico! Fox hurries to then FLY onto Sammy and Ace! The fans fire up as Fox stands tall on the barriers. They pump it up, “HEY! HEY! HEY!” Fox and Angelico meet in the ring, but Fox DUMPS Angelico out and sweeps the legs! Fox basement SUPERKICKS Angelico down!

The fans fire up as Fox hurries to BLACK HOLE STOMP Angelico, but then Sammy YANKS Fox down! Fox ends up giving an apron senton to Angelico that way, but both men are down while Sammy gloats. The fans boo but Sammy soaks that up, until Ace mule kicks! Ace ROCKS and CHOPS Sammy, Sammy hits back, but Ace ROCKS Sammy again! Ace SMACKS Sammy off the apron, KICKS him, then whips Sammy, only for Sammy to reverse! Ace hits the chair sitting against the railing, then he flops to the floor! The fans boo again but Sammy puts the chair over Ace’s head so he can sit on Ace! Sammy then stands tall for the fans to boo.

Sammy drags Ace up, makes him take a seat, then CHOPS! Sammy builds speed as he goes around the ring, but he has to dodge Angelico first! Sammy pokes Angelico in the eyes, then builds speed again, but Fox CANNONBALLS onto him again! Then Fox finishes it with a CANNONBALL into Ace! The fans fire up and Fox hurries to put Sammy in the ring. Fox goes up, up, SWANTON BOMB, onto KNEES! Angelico is back to BOOT Fox down! Sammy JUMP KNEES Angelico! Ace FLYING CHUCKS Sammy down! The fans fire up and hope these four “FIGHT FOREVER!” Ace hurries to a corner, and he waits on someone to get up.

Fox runs up, Ace BOOTS him away, then SOBATS! Ace pommels to ROUNDHOUSE Sammy, then he dodges to LARIAT Fox! Ace catches Angelico to KNEE and KNEE LIFT! Fox is up but Ace ducks him to hit a BIG back suplex! The fans fire up for the “CLICK CLICK!” BOOM DROP! Cover, but Sammy breaks it! Ace fires body shots and a forearm. Sammy goes to ropes, Ace runs up, but Sammy dodges! Sammy blocks a kick, FLIPS Ace to the apron, and JUMP KNEES Ace down! Sammy builds speed, and he slides, to then poke Ace in the eyes! The fans boo but Sammy soaks that up. Sammy hurries into the ring and SUPERKICKS Fox down!

Sammy drags Fox into a drop zone, goes up the corner, then hops down to poke Fox in the eyes! The fans boo but Sammy winds up. Angelico blocks to FLATLINER! The fans cheer, and Angelico trips Ace! Angelico ties up the legs in a STANDING FIGURE FOUR! Fox runs up but Angelico catches him, turns him, STANDING CROSSFACE! The fans cheer as Angelico has two men trapped, but Sammy SUPERKICKS him down! Sammy soaks up the heat again, then grins as he brings Ace up. Fireman’s carry, and Sammy does squats to mock Ace. Ace fights free, shoves Sammy, then runs up. Sammy UPPERCUTS, goes up, but Ace GAMANGIRIS!

Ace sees Angelico, fireman’s carries him, and he adds Sammy to it! The fans fire up for Quadzilla’s squats! Then the DOUBLE SAMOAN DROP! Ace flexes, but then he and Fox fire off forearms! The fans rally as the shots keep going, Fox fires a flurry, but Ace ducks to waistlock. Fox switches, Ace switches, repeat! Ace goes to ropes to DUMP Fox out, but Sammy is back! JUMP KNEE! Ace is down, Sammy runs at Angelico! Angelico blocks a kick, spins Sammy, then slides under to trip Sammy and tie him up! NAVARRO DEATH ROLL!! Sammy endures but Fox hurries to the apron! Lio chases Sammy into the crowd, Fox and Angelico are in the ring. Fox kicks, KICKS, but Angelico ROCKS Fox! Fox BOOTS back! Angelico ducks a kick, Fox jumps the sweep, but not the EDDY GORDO! Angelico swings, but into Fox’s crucifix to sunset flip! TWO, Angelico has it, TWO! Fox has it back, TWO! Angelico bridges, Fox rolls it into a cradle! Fox wins!

Winner: AR Fox, by pinfall (still ROH World Television Champion)

There were some wild developments at the end there, but Fox stayed calm and he stays in control! But he’s got only a week to prepare because BREAKING NEWS for Global Wars: Cincinnati! Fox will defend this title in a Triple Threat against Lio Rush and Action Andretti! Will The Problem Child or The Sight to See snatch this title away? Or will the Whole Fox’n Show survive a night in The Nati?

My Thoughts:

A very good ROH that they magically announced today, just hours before it went up on YouTube. Not sure who is in charge of advertising but they gotta be better about it. They had this while they were in Alabama, they should’ve known to advertise it like Friday or something. And especially considering they’re counterprogramming NXT… Anyway, good stuff, even in the matches I skipped and skimmed through. Anyway, great 8 Man Tag to open, great win for Adam Priest in Alabama. Very good bookending where Dralistico got involved with the main event to help Sammy, and only for it to backfire.

Lio Rush also getting involved was probably more for popping the crowd, this new persona is getting over really well. Good promo from Lio to imply there could be a mastermind behind all this, but who knows. Great music video from Castle & The Outrunners, as random as it was to just have a new music video. Very good promo and very good match for Viva Van against Deonna Purrazzo, but again, what’s the point of a one hour time limit when we don’t even get close to 30 minutes? Nine minutes doesn’t even make for a Proving Ground match. Maybe Global Wars will give Deonna someone capable of pushing the time limit even just a little.

And great stuff for AR Fox tonight. Not just his fast ‘n’ furious Fatal 4 Way main event, but him getting to “Chop It Up” with Coleman and talk about a few things in that half-shoot, half-kayfabe way they’ve been doing for these promos. As someone who hadn’t really gotten to know Fox outside of ROH and AEW, seeing him just the last six years, it is clear he’s as talented as anyone else, as innovative as anyone else, as dedicated, loyal, and determined as anyone else, and he really should’ve had the ROH World TV title much sooner than this. Again I say, we should’ve had an Interim ROH World TV Champion instead of Nick Wayne holding onto it while injured, and that role should’ve been Fox’s. Fox has the belt now, I really do hope he goes a long time with it.

My Score: 8.7/10
