Time to make it official! Wendy Choo VS Nikkita Lyons for Succession 3. Wendy signs her part, and Thatcher says wonderful. Wendy says Nikkita is a lion Wendy has not tamed and she is sick of it. But tonight, she also has her eye on Anya VS Zena, cuz you never know who your next contender gonna be, y’know? Thatcher does, he does. By the way, who does she think wins tonight? The debut was a huge success, but Elijah is hungry for more. Will he knock out the Bad Man from Ala-Bam-Bam-Bama? Or will the Lost Cause end Elijah’s win streak at one?

The bell rings and the two circle. They tie up, break, and Jensen is already wary. The fans cheer on “HOLYFIELD~! Knock him out!” The two tie up again, Jensen puts Elijah on ropes, but the ref counts. Jensen pie faces Elijah as he backs off, but Elijah BODY BLOWS! Jensen falls back and Elijah dares him to get up. The fans cheer as Jensen stands in the corner, then comes back. Jensen slips around, but Elijah still BODY BLOWS! Jensen sputters, the fans rally up, but Jensen headlocks. Elijah powers up and out, but Jensen runs him over! Things keep moving, Elijah hurdles, but Jensen KNEES low! Jensen CLUBS Elijah, then ROCKS him with a forearm.

The fans boo but Jensen whips Elijah to a corner. Elijah goes up and over, then JABS! JABS! Jensen staggers, into another JAB! The fans fire up as Jensen falls over! Mr. England insists that, despite the fan vote being NOT in his favor, he is still Mr. NXT all because he took Shiloh Hill out of action. And at the same time, he claims Evolve needs a man to lead it, not a Starboy. But will Tristan fail to slay the Denim Dragon? Or will Chazz Hall humble the would-be pageant king?

Evolve returns as Tristan makes his entrance, Starboy already waiting in the ring. The bell rings, the two circle, and they tie up. Tristan KNEES low, mocks the “child,” then snapmares, but Starboy handsprings through! Starboy runs to wheelbarrow and arm-drag! Tristan is mad, but Starboy blocks the lariat, knuckle locks and CHOPS! Starboy KICKS, CHOPS, and goes up, up, and FLYING ARM-DRAGS! The fans fire up as Starboy DROPKICKS Tristan! The fans fire up as Starboy runs up to CHOP! Starboy whips, Tristan reverses, then Tristan runs up! “Watch this!” MONKEY FLIP, but Starboy lands out! At least the fans cheer!

Tristan runs up, Starboy dodges and KICKS! And ROCKS! And KICKS! But Tristan throat chops! Tristan whips Starboy, then runs up, but Starboy dodges! The Anime Girl has been trying to get her footing in Evolve, but it’s a little hard when Gianna Capri is always harping on her losses. But the Ukrainian Paradox says she’s so excited to be back in Evolve. It’s been a long journey, from LFG to injuries to missed opportunities, but she promises that we’ll see the best of her. Zena smiles and skips her way to the ring, but will she finally be ready to Evolve? Or will Anya finally unlock her main character secret power?

The VIP Lounge has its first guest of the night, it’s KevOnStage! Is he an anime fan? The bell rings and the two tie up. The fans duel as the two go around, and Anya wrenches to a wristlock. Zena wrenches through, breaks free, then trips Anya and covers, ONE! Zena clamps onto an arm but Anya headscissors. Zena kips free, Anya trips her to cover, ONE! Anya wrenches and WRINGS Zena out! Anya keeps moving, and she BASEMENT UPPERCUTS! The fans fire up for “UWU~!” Kevin applauds as Anya goes to a corner. Zena runs up, Anya ELBOWS her away. Anya goes up, BOOTS Zena, but Zena ROCKS Anya!

Zena fires shots, then climbs up. Anya fires body shots, Zena falls back, and Anya climbs to the very top. Anya says in the name of uwu, this anime girl is gonna fly! But then she SLIPS!? Zena yanks her leg, stomps away on her, then ELBOW DROPS! Cover, TWO! Anya survives but Zena snap suplexes. Zena wants another, Anya cradle counters, TWO! DOUBLE LARIATS take them both down! The fans continue to duel, Kev chooses Team Zena, but Anya fires a forearm first. Zena fires back, the two stand as they brawl, and Zena whips. The fans fire up as Zena staggers around. Anya runs up, UPPERCUTS, then GAMANGIRIS! Anya whips, Zena reverses, but Anya blocks to wrench and NECKBREAKER DROP! The fans fire up with Anya as she goes to a corner. Anya goes up, up, and wonders if she can do this. The fans cheer her on, and Anya goes to the second rope. Anya aims as Zena rises, and Anya just hops down. CROSSBODY! Both women scramble to corners, and then Zena sees the bare buckle from what Jensen did earlier tonight! Anya runs up, but Zena sends her into the buckles! Zena fireman’s carries, and swings for the SIDEWALK SLAM! Cover, Zena wins!

Hmm, a bit of a controversial win, but Zena doesn’t seem to mind. Is “the best” of Zena going to win by any means necessary? Oh no, as if losing isn’t bad enough, Gianna Capri comes out to add insult to injury! Anya doesn’t belong here! She can’t hang in the big leagues of WWE! Anya shouldn’t even be WWE ID! But wait, Layla & Masyn storm out here! They will not let Sauce Boss Gianna bully anyone on their watch! Gianna takes a step but then they both stare her down. Gianna bails out but talks trash the whole time. Will anyone ever cool off her sauce? Will Anya ever figure out what she needs to win?

Blake Howard interviews Harlem Lewis.

Blake finds the New York Jackhammer in the gym, and sees he’s working the heavy bag. Harlem says some of his best times have come from hitting one of these. His coaches even said he could go pro boxer. Yes, Blake can see that. But all that can end in just a second. Braxton Cole sure tried that when he went after his arm with that chair. Harlem says yeah, but he feels good. He’s a week out from being cleared. That’s great! But where is he mentally? We’ve already seen that Harlem’s practically bursting at the seams with pent up aggression. After things with Braxton- Harlem says that’s a minefield, Blake.

Harlem hates to admit it, but he was afraid. He was scared that WWE would be over for him. This was the dream. What else was he gonna do? Go back to football? To boxing? Blake knows Braxton mocked Harlem with a janitorial position at his dad’s company, and that he’d even have a mop with a sling for him. Yeah, Harlem had to support his brothers by mopping floors, and Braxton thinks that’s funny. To Braxton, his life was situated. Harlem HAS to make it in the WWE, for his mom, his brothers, and himself. Is that why the Evolve Championship is so important to him? Yes, exactly! Look at Jackson Drake, now on NXT. Look at both Kendal Grey and Kali Armstrong!

Harlem needs the title to make it to NXT, and then one day to Raw & SmackDown, and then… WrestleMania. And Braxton is just in the way. A smug little trust fund baby. Harlem’s channeling his anger, waiting to get cleared. And when he does, he wants Braxton in No Disqualifications. That is a huge challenge to put out, and Blake promises to take that to Foreman Thatcher. Blake felt the power just from the pat on the shoulder, now tell us some boxing stories. Harlem says sure. His first ever match was against his best friend, his next door neighbor.

Evolve cuts away as Harlem continues, but the idea is, if Harlem can hit his best friend with everything he’s got, how much harder will he hit someone he can’t even stand?

Thatcher meets with Nikkita Lyons & Sloane Jacobs.

The Foreman says time waits for no one, and since Miss Choo already signed, it’s now Miss Lyons’ turn. Lyons puts her name down and says you don’t have to ask her twice. Sloane says Nikkita Lyons as the NEW Evolve Women’s Champion just sounds right. Lyons says Wendy is just really “inspiring” so that Lyons is nothing like her. But now, it is written in the stars for the Divine Feline to be the most whimsically gifted Evolve Women’s Champion there ever was, and the entire Universe will hear her roar. KevOnStage then steps in and says hey to Thatcher! Thatcher is excited to see Kev, and Kev brings up Thatcher being the OG Evolve Champion! He was that guy!

Thatcher says Kev is very kind, and he really likes Safe Space on Tubi. Kev asks if the others watch and Lyons says yes, of course. It is such an honor for him to meet her! They’re big fans of his bald- uh, no, big following. It’s nothing compared to when Lyons goes viral, though. Maybe he can get a few tips from her. Uh, no, here’s the tip for her: Focus on beating Wendy Choo. And don’t cheat like Zena or Jensen, we don’t need that from Lyons. Sloane says how dare he! Lyons doesn’t need advice from Kev! And second, whether or not Lyons manifests a little “divine intervention” is none of his concern!

Lyons & Sloane hair toss on their way out and Kev says that was on purpose cuz he’s bald. Thatcher apologizes for them, but he does like Kev’s wrestling knowledge. Very impressive. But here’s a question: Thatcher has a scouting trip coming up, would Kev consider being Guest GM? Kev says of course! All his dreams are coming true! But first, great idea: No Disqualifications, Harlem VS Braxton. Yes, fantastic! It’ll work out great! They shake hands on it, Kev say she won’t let Thatcher down. Thatcher says good fella. Now, pen and paper, let’s get at ‘er!

Romeo Moreno & Noam Dar VS Kam Hendrix & Harley Riggins!

El Freestyler helped Tate Wilder with Mr. Showtime & #GnarlyHarley, but that’s only made him their new target! Luckily, Romeo’s new tag partner is willing to help out. Will #Daromeo (or is it #Noamoreno?) prove they can be just like Fraxiom? Or will Kam & Harley turn up their egos to 11?

The teams sort out and Harley doesn’t want Dar, he wants Romeo! Dar looks to Romeo, Romeo is ready, and Dar tags him in. The fans cheer as the two circle, and Romeo avoids Harley going for the leg. They circle again, and Harley fakes going for the leg so Romeo will drop down! Harley headlocks, but Romeo powers up and out, only for Harley to BOOT Romeo down! Riggins whips Romeo but Romeo boots back. Riggins blocks, throws it back, but Romeo ROUNDHOUSES! Romeo runs, slides, then cartwheels to RANA Riggins into ropes! Romeo DROPKICKS and the fans fire up! Kam tags in and cools things off.

Romeo tags Dar and the fans cheer as he circles with Kam. Kam mocks Dar’s height by asking for the knuckle locks. Dar KICKS Kam instead! Dar wrenches, hammerlocks, but Kam powers Dar to the corner. Kam ELBOWS Dar, then whips, but Dar goes up, under, and headlocks. Kam powers up and out to RUN Dar over! Kam talks trash, pushes Dar around, then stands him up. Kam reels Dar in, but Dar wrenches to KICK the leg! And KICK, KICK, feint, and SUPER PUNCH! Kam falls, Dar covers, TWO! Kam toughs it out but Dar has the ARMBAR! Kam scrambles up, scoops Dar, and SIDEWALK SLAMS! Cover, ONE!

The fans rally for “SUPERNOVA!” but Kam tags Riggins. They mug Dar, then CHOP! Dar sputters but Riggins whips Dar. Romeo tags in, Dar tabletops Riggins, and Romeo shoots in for the NORTHERN LIGHTS! Riggins bails out but Romeo goes up, out, only to dodge Kam! Dar BOOTS Kam down, then Romeo builds speed! Romeo ESCALARAS! Down go Riggins & Kam, Dar has Romeo hurry to fetch one. Riggins is put in, Romeo runs up, but Riggins dodges the chop. Romeo BOOTS Riggins, but his bad leg jams. Riggins takes a swipe at Dar, but that’s just to distract the ref! Kam trips Romeo, YANKS him into the post, then he anchors Romeo!

Riggins puts the bad leg on the ropes and he STOMPS it down! Romeo writhes but Riggins says boom boom, just that easy! The fans boo but Riggins & Hendrix soak it up while Evolve goes to break.

Evolve returns as Kam CLUBS Romeo’s bad leg, then reels him in. Kam hooks a leg, SHIN BREAKERS, then he runs corner to corner to somersault and LARIAT! Cover, TWO! Romeo toughs it out but Kam stomps him around. Kam grabs the bad leg for an ANKLE LOCK! Romeo endures, rolls over, and he BOOTS Kam away! Riggins tags in, he anchors Romeo, but Romeo hops up. Riggins trips Romeo, then stands him up to shove into the ropes. Romeo rebounds into the BIG forearm! Romeo falls while Riggins says it’s too easy! Riggins brings Romeo up from the apron, has the leg in the ropes, and he tags Kam.

Kam goes up, leaps, but Romeo slips free so the AX HANDLE hits Riggins! Kam panics but Romeo slingshots up and over! Hot tag to Dar! Dar ducks ‘n’ dodges Kam to LARIAT! FOREARM! And ROUNDHOUSE! The fans fire up with Dar as he fires forearms, then whips. Kam reverses, runs up, and LARIATS in the corner! Kam keeps moving, somersault- SHOTGUN from Dar! Dar BLASTS Riggins, too, then dodges Kam to SNAP GERMAN! The fans fire up for Dar as he hurries to bring Kam up. Kam wrenches, breaks the lariat, but Dar catches the dropkick into an ANKLE LOCK! Riggins is in, Dar ducks, then hands the foot to Riggins so he can DECK Riggins!

Romeo slides in, he gets Riggins for an ANKLE LOCK! The fans are fired up, but Riggins rolls to send Romeo out! Dar keeps the pressure on Kam, but Kam BOOTS Dar away! Romeo sneaks a tag, Kam hobbles away to tag Riggins. Romeo SMACKS Riggins, SMACKS him again, but Riggins kicks the leg out! Riggins kicks Dar for good measure, then tags Kam back in. TATE WILDER is back, and he takes the trash can from Riggins! Riggins snarls, but he goes back to Romeo, only to get caught in an inside cradle! TWO! Romeo GAMANGIRIS Kam, but Riggins scoops! The Modern Day Cowboy made sure to settle scores one last time, and now Romeo & Dar stand tall! Will this be the beginning of a win streak for El Freestyler & The Supernova?

It’s time for a face-off!

Chuey Martinez welcomes us backstage as he is joined by Aaron Rourke and Max Abrams. The contract is signed, the match is set for Succession 3! The underlining story here is what this means to the WWE ID Program. The Evolve Champion, Aaron Rourke, represents the first class of WWE ID, while the Main Man and the Mog Squad are the newest class. Champ gets the floor first. Rourke says he wants to talk about what WWE ID means. WWE created this program to give independent wrestlers like themselves the tools and resources to succeed, truly unprecedented. Rourke is honored to have been part of the first class.

And using those resources and tools, Rourke has become a great wrestler, gotten in the best shape of his life, put in the work, and even became THE Evolve Champion. It was a great moment for him to win it, but it was an even bigger moment for WWE ID. That solidarity they had in the ring that night, it was priceless. And then Max, you went and knocked the title out of Rourke’s hand, and honestly, we should’ve seen Max for who he really was right then and there. Max says yeah, they should’ve. Everything he does is calculated. Remember the night the so-called leader of WWE ID, Sean Legacy, gave that little speech and then snubbed Max?

Rourke says vividly, actually, and it was hilarious. Well Max took that very personally, because in no world does someone that looks like Rourke mogs someone that looks like Max! Max mogs you! There is nobody in his league! The only ones that are were The Vanity Project, and they’ve already moved on to NXT. So for guys like Rourke, at this point, this is charity by WWE. Rourke sums it up: Max thinks he’s on the Vanity Project’s level while he sees Rourke, Cappuccino, and everyone else as “leftovers.” But no, everyone, from Rourke’s team to the rest of WWE ID to even the fans, they’re all working to achieve an ultimate goal with the love and support of friends and family.

That is how success comes, and it came for him. Now it is about making history! Something Max knows nothing about. Max says the most notable thing in Rourke’s title reign will be becoming a trivia question: Who did Max Abrams defeat to become WWE Evolve Champion? Rourke says good one, so clever. But Max says that surely, while Rourke’s family says they’re proud of him, deep down, they know what Max knows: Rourke is a joke. Rourke says bring up the family, he will slap the taste out of his mouth! Rourke and Max stand up and get in each other’s face, only for Special Security, Shido Ash & Viktor Zanov, to step in.

They face Max as they keep the two apart, but Rourke tries to get through them, so they grab Rourke! Max gets a cheap shot in because of it! Max says HE is gonna be the champ! Rourke still tries to fight, but Evolve has to go off the air. Succession 3 is a week away, who will prove they are THE main man of Evolve?

My Thoughts:

A very good Evolve as the go-home to Succession 3, and I actually don’t mind that we got a different kind of contract signing for both titles. Wendy and Lyons signed separately to have two different promos with Thatcher, and even Kevin Fredericks, so the go-home math is null. Maybe Wendy wins to keep her reign going, maybe Sloane helps Lyons cheat the title off Wendy, or maybe Sloane screws Lyons over because Lyons didn’t help her more during her match. Either way, we’ll have a very good match from Lyons VS Choo.

Then the men having their sit-down interview style face-to-face was good, and once again, Ash & Zanov continue to be a rather forceful security presence. Rourke is already showing up on NXT, still feuding with Tristan, maybe Succession is where Rourke loses to then free himself to go up to NXT? Max having the Mog Squad would help that, even with Rourke having Cappuccino, Mathers and Holloway. Very good match from Tristan VS Starboy, too, but with Tristan also on NXT already, it’s a bit moot, he’s building momentum for something that’s not happening on Evolve. Elijah Holyfield losing to Jensen here was surprising, and maybe even disappointing. Elijah should’ve at least had two wins before losing but whatever. They at least used it for continuity, where the buckle pad trick was also used by Zena to cheat Anya. Gianna is getting good Heel Heat constantly harping on Anya, and it gives Masyn & Layla a chance to be heroes. At the same time, Anya needs to just stand up for herself and slap Gianna down.

Very good promo from Harlem to respond to Braxton, and I guess they want to make Harlem an underdog with the bad arm. No Disqualifications for after Succession is going to be a great match, and I would think Harlem wins that. And great tag team main event, with Tate rightfully returning to help out. It looked like he had stitches on his eye (at the time of filming this) so that would explain handing off the story with Kam & Riggins to Romeo & Dar as Tate really couldn’t compete with the bad eye. Hopefully this is kinda the end of the story of Tate against Kam & Riggins, since Tate and Kam are already on NXT, as well.
