Evolve recaps the end of last week.
The Mog Squad was about to mug Aaron Rourke, but Cappuccino Jones, Marcus Mathers, and Sam Holloway rushed out there to help the champ! However, in the chaos, Max was able to hit the Main Objective Famouser on Rourke! Max said he was the man, but he still ran from the rest of the WWE ID OGs. Will Cappuccino Jones power down that Main Man Energy? Or is Evolve about to go to the Max?
Sloane Jacobs & Nikkita Lyons speak.
They vibe and get loose as Kita Multimedia says she is feeling it! Evolve is on fire! Now, there’s Elijah Holyfield’s in-ring debut, Mog Squad mogging ID 1.0, and even the 2.0 girlies taking it to Masyn Holiday & Layla Diggs. And of course, we can’t forget Sloane’s Evolve Women’s Championship match with Wendy Choo. Sloane says she’s right where she should be, all thanks to Lyons. Lyons says Sloane is so sweet. Lyons is so happy they won that tag match, even if Laynie Luck cost Lyons the pinfall. But Lyons says Sloane will finally end this uninspiring title reign, and Lyons will be in Sloane’s corner to make sure it happens. Sloan tells Wendy that she will sink beneath her!
The new stars are ready to shine, but will they be eclipsed by the OGs determined to hold onto their spots?
Gianna Capri VS Masyn Holiday w/ Layla Diggs!
The Sauce got spicy last week, saying Anya Rune was a loser over and over, and that did not sit well with The Renaissance Woman of Evolve. Masyn looks to cool Capri off, but will she be the one burnt by The Sauce this week?
Well speaking of Anya, she and Veronica Haven are in the VIP Lounge to watch Gianna, same as Gianna and Veronica did for Anya. The bell rings and the two circle. They tie up, go around, and Gianna pulls hair to get the wrench and wristlock. The ref reprimands, but Masyn rolls to the ropes, flips through and wrenches to arm-drag! Then arm-drag again! The fans fire up with Masyn as she DROPKICKS Giana down! Cover, TWO! Masyn clamps onto Gianna’s arm, Gianna fights up, but Masyn wrangles her back down. Gianna fights up again, and she powers Masyn to the ropes to whip her away.
Gianna sets up but Masyn hurdles over, ducks under, then handsprings back to headscissor SPIKE Gianna! The fans fire up while Masyn flips Gianna for a cover, TWO! Gianna toughs it out but Masyn clamps onto an arm. Layla and the fans cheer Masyn on, Veronica tries to support Gianna, and Anya stays quiet. Masyn whips Gianna to a corner, runs up, and ELBOWS her! Then Masyn breaks it down, before Gianna THROWS her down by her hair! The ref reprimands but Gianna stomps Masyn in the corner. The ref counts, Gianna stops at 4, but then she digs her boots in! The fans boo, the ref counts, and Gianna stops at 4.
Gianna drags Masyn up from the apron, Masyn ROCKS Gianna, then she slingshots to sunset flip, TWO! Gianna basement BOOTS Masyn down! Cover, TWO! Another cover, TWO! A third cover, ONE!! Gianna is frustrated but the fans cheer Masyn on. Gianna drags Masyn up, but Masyn ROCKS her! Gianna ROCKS Masyn! Masyn ROCKS and CHOPS and kicks Gianna to whip and ELBOW! Masyn fires up, she RUNS Gianna over, then runs to HIP DROP! The fans fire up for Masyn, and she dodges a boot to handspring. Gianna stops the headscissors to then CHOP BLOCK! Masyn hobbles, Gianna O’Conner Rolls, with the ropes! GIANNA WINS!
Winner: Gianna Capri, by pinfall
Masyn is shocked, the fans boo, but Gianna snatches this one away! And she has to go and tell Anya that’s how it’s done! Veronica wants a high-five, Gianna gives it, and Gianna says SHE is the face of WWE ID 2.0, NOT Anya! Gianna says that is The Sauce! But is all this spice about to make Anya very salty?
Wendy Choo speaks.
“Sloane Jacobs. Congrats, kudos to you for making it back to WWE. I see that you’ve put in the work. But ever since you’ve returned, you’ve taken sleazy shortcuts to get a title shot. Sleazy Sloane, sounds fitting. But I get it, you have a chip on your shoulder. And the amount of times I’ve had to reset in my career, I can proudly call myself a champion. So if it’s a fight that you want, you got it. And you can bring your kitty cat of a partner because I’m still walking out as Evolve Women’s Champion. And you can chew on that.” The champ is ready, but will the Queen of New York still be the Queen of Evolve after tonight?
It’s Gal speaks.
Mr. Mint Condition is outdoors again as he says he’s been spending a lot of time here by his “private reflection pond.” For far too long, It’s Gal has been pulled into too many directions. He has been confused, trick, and stuck. But no more! From now on, the only “rock ‘n’ a hard place” Gal is stuck in between are his own two granite biceps! Friends are overrated, and this stud is ready to get back on the solo gain train, and he is ready to choo-choo through all the competition! He is announcing the first-ever It’s Gal Mint Condition Open Challenge! So, dummies, step up and found out that when you’re in mint condition, there is no competition!
It’s Gal seems to be back to his old self again, but will that be a good thing or a bad thing when he steps back into the ring?
Harley Riggins w/ Kam Hendrix VS Romeo Moreno!
#GnarlyHarley tried to help Kam Hendrix steal one from Tate Wilder, but El Freestyle made sure to tip the scales back into balance. But will Romeo pay for doing the right thing? Or can he run this “Big Rig” off the road?
Chuey Martinez is with Romeo at gorilla for a quick interview. 2v1 doesn’t seem very fair, what’s up with that? Romeo says y’know, sometimes, the darkest times, the toughest situations, are when we create our best art! Let’s show the world the meaning of “Si Se Puedes!” Romeo makes his entrance and the fans cheer him on. The bell rings and the two circle. Romeo avoids Riggins’ roll, then they knuckle lock. Riggins kicks low, ROCKS Romeo, then ROCKS him again. Riggins stalks Romeo to the ropes, CHOPS him, then stalks him again. Riggins CHOPS and Romeo falls! Kam cheers Riggins on but Romeo fires back. Riggins BODY BLOWS Romeo!
Riggins whips, Romeo ducks ‘n’ dodges, then BOOTS Riggins down! The fans fire up for Romeo, but Kam gets on the apron! The ref reprimands but Riggins BOOTS Romeo down in the distraction! The fans boo but Riggins goes up, up, and MARIPOSA! Cover, TWO! The fans cheer Romeo, but Riggins clamps onto a chinlock. The fans rally for Romeo as he endures, and he fights up, only for Riggins to THROW him down! Riggins clamps back on with a chinlock and he grinds Romeo down. Romeo fights up, but Riggins whips him away to then ROCK him in the back! Riggins talks trash on Romeo, shoves him to ropes again, and ROCKS him with another shot!
The fans rally for Romeo but Riggins talks trash. Riggins stands Romeo up, shoves him again, but Romeo ELBOWS back! Romeo kicks, Riggins blocks, but Romeo ENZIGIRIS! Then Romeo LARIATS Riggins down! The fans fire up as both men rise, and Romeo roars! Romeo LARIATS, and LARIATS, and then runs up, but Kam gets Riggins out of the way! So Romeo just GAMANGIRIS Kam! Then a GAMANGIRI for Riggins anyway! Romeo puts Riggins up, climbs after him, and he clinches, only for Riggins to fight! Kam anchors Riggins’ feet! Romeo STOMPS Kam’s fingers, pushes Riggins away, and MISSLE- NO, Riggins guzels to CHOKE KNEE! Cover, Riggins wins!
Winner: Harley Riggins, by pinfall
Showtime made his presence known, and a little too much, but Riggins scores the win! And then Kam brings a chair! Kam puts the chair around Romeo’s leg, and Riggins goes up! The fans boo as Riggins STOMPS the chair! Romeo clutches his ankle, it could be snapped! Will nothing stop the blue chip bullies from doing what they want to who they want?
Timothy Thatcher talks with his special security.
The Foreman tells Viktor Zanov and Shido Ash, what’re they doing?! Braxton Cole went after Harlem Lewis’ arm, and then they rip it out the socket? Harlem’s not even medically cleared now! They have to be more careful. Shido says yes, sir, they’ve learned their lesson. Viktor thanks Mr. Thatcher for the proper guidance. Thatcher says Evolve is about learning, so message received. But they do need to be on point for tonight, especially this next one, Cappuccino Jones VS Max Abrams. The Mog Squad will be lurking, WWE ID 1.0 will likely have Jones’ back, it’ll be pandemonium. We can’t have that before Thatcher’s first Succession special.
He’s counting on them as security to keep the match from being ruined and to let the fellas settle it in the ring. Can they do that? Yes, sir, 100%. Good. Thanks very much. The security heads out, and Thatcher says with that sorted, we can move on to talking about Succession 3. One thing he can guarantee is that new acquisitions will debut. The other thing is he can guarantee is that after tonight’s main event, either Wendy Choo or Sloane Jacobs will defend that Evolve Women’s Championship against Nikkita Lyons! How about that, huh? Now, let’s get to work! Big news indeed, who will join the purple ‘n’ silver and prove they’re ready to Evolve?
Cappuccino Jones VS Max Abrams!
While change is inevitable, the WWE ID OGs did not expect the Main Man to change his attitude so drastically. The Mog Squad has been doing everything they can to make themselves the alphas of Evolve, but will it really be that easy? Or will Jones not go gentle into that good night given all the caffeine in his system?
The bell rings and we see Ash & Zanov on guard at the entryway. Jones dodges Max, JABS, JABS, but then Max bails out! Jones pursues, but Max suckers Jones into the trap. Max stomps away at the ropes, but stops as the ref counts. The fans boo but Max kicks again, only for Jones to block! Jones spins Max to JAB, JAB, but Max KNEES low! Max runs, but Jones hurdles, hurdles, and DROPKICKS! The fans fire up for Jones and he UPPERCUTS Max! Max goes to a corner, Jones runs up and ELBOWS! Jones whips corner to corner, runs in, but Max dodges! Jones his buckles and goes to the apron! Max then triangle jump ENZIGIRIS!
The fans boo harder but Max runs to GUILLOTINE LEG DROP Jones in the ropes! Cover, TWO! Jones survives but Max stomps him and ROCKS him! The fans rally for Jones and he fires back! Max KNEES low again, then runs, to then JUMP ELBOW! Cover, TWO! Jones toughs it out but Max storms up to talk trash. Max ROCKS Jones, puts him in the corner, then stomps, JABS, and stomps again. Max struts while the ref reprimands, but Jones DOUBLE CHOPS Max! Jones kicks, Max blocks, but Jones BOOTS free! Jones goes up, up, and RANAS! The fans fire up for Jones while Max flounders, and Jones goes up another corner.
Max stands, Jones leaps, but Max DROPKICKS Jones outta the sky! Then Max runs for a BLOCKBUSTER! Cover, TWO! Jones survives but Max rains down fists! The fans boo but Max just grins. Max then goes up the corner, takes aim, and though the fans chant “YOU SUCK,” Max FROGGY- FLOPS! Jones dodges as Max tries to steal his move! The fans fire up while Max staggers, and Jones BACKDROPS! The fans fire up again and Jones is feeling it! DROPKICK in the corner! Max flounders, Jones whips him to the corner, then Jones runs up to LARIAT! Jones goes up, out, then leaps in, AX HANDLE! The fans cheer as Jones hits that boiling point!
Jones winds up, but Max BOOTS the lariat, then ENZIGIRIS! Max runs, but Jones fireman’s carries! Jones pops Max up for the SIT-OUT POWERBOMB! Cover, TWO! Max survives but Jones brings him up, only for Max to power out and UPPERCUT! Max runs, Jones follows and BOOTS! Jones keeps moving, BOOTS again, then runs again! But Max JUMP KNEES! Max runs, Jones dodges, and DOUBLE CROSSBODIES collide! Both men are down and the fans fire up! Oh, here comes the Mog Squad! But Jacari Ball & Santi Rivera are a bit surprised to spot Ash & Zanov in the way. The special security tells them to just go on back.
But then Mathers & Holloway CLOBBER Santi & Jacari! Ash & Zanov hurry to stop this, and they THROW Mathers away! Holloway goes after them, but they manage to power Holloway to the back! The chaos outside is done, but Jones and Max run up inside the ring! Jones CLOBBERS Max! The fans fire up as Jones goes up, but Max bails out! The fans boo but Jones just changes course, and SUPER CROSSBODIES! The fans fire up and Jones gets Max back up. Jones puts Max in, Max distracts the ref talking about his face, but CJ VALOR sneaks out here! CJ YANKS Jones down onto his beans! Max runs up, MAIN OBJECTIVE! Cover, Max wins!
Winner: Max Abrams, by pinfall
Security handled who they could, but they forgot that the Mog Squad rolls four bros deep! The Main Man’s main man helps him steal this one, will nothing stop the new wave from washing away the old guard?
PJ Vasa is here!
She arrives backstage, and she tells us, “That PJ Vasa back, I’m here to watch the Women’s Evolve title match. And whoever wins that, they gon’ come get they issue!” #PNasty doesn’t care who is next in line, she wants hers! But will it be Wendy Choo or Sloane Jacobs that has to worry about this female titan coming after them?
Elijah Holyfield VS Kai Kavari!
After surviving LFG, the son of the legendary boxer is ready to Evolve! But will it be a knockout right from the start? Or can this former D1 runningback take it to the house?
The bell rings and the two tie up. The fans rally as Elijah powers Kai to a corner, then he backs off as the ref counts. The two tie up again, Kai hammerlocks, but Elijah powers Kai to the ropes. The ref counts, Kai lets go, but Elijah snapmares with force! Then Elijah ROCKS Kai, runs the ropes, and he SHOULDER TACKLES Kai down! Now that was a football tackle! Elijah SPLASHES, whips, and SPLASHES again! Another whip, Kai bounces off buckles, and Elijah SPINEBUSTERS! The fans fire up as Elijah says thumbs up, thumbs down! UPPERCUT!! Cover, Elijah wins!
Winner: Elijah Holyfield, by pinfall
Holy moly, Elijah has power in those hands! That’s the first win, but will it be the first of many?
Tristan Angels speaks.
“Last week was an international tragedy. There I am, fingertips away from rightfully winning the Men’s Evolve Championship from Aaron Rourke when he narrowly escapes with an uninspiring victory. And to make matters even worse, I didn’t have a second to process this or act in retaliation as The Mog Squad would immediately start their bid to be the next contenders. But I am not done with that championship. Aaron, that was not a convincing victory, everybody knows that was not a convincing victory. And the Mog Squad, those imbeciles, are merely a snippet of the so-called contenders on the Men’s Evolve Roster.
“People who for some reason think they have a right to hold championship gold when they couldn’t even hold my jockstrap. Braxton Cole, a trust fund baby who is cruising through life at the expense of his father, Harlem Lewis, who would look more suitable leading a gang of motorcyclists than the Men’s Evolve Division. And finally, Chazz ‘Starboy’ Hall. Now, ‘Chazzer,’ I think that nickname is brilliant for you, given your childlike stature. The point is, there is a difference between wannabe champions and men like me, who are born with gold running through their veins. And in all honesty, I believe Evolve is crying out for somebody like me to grab the reins and lead it into the future.
“So Aaron Rourke, know this: You may have won this chapter, but the story is far, far from over, and it does not end until Mr. England, Tristan Angels, is standing over you and hoisting the newly won Men’s Evolve Championship above his head.” The Pageant King has spoken, but will he even get another chance before Succession 3?
WWE Evolve Women’s Championship: Wendy Choo VS Sloane Jacobs w/ Nikkita Lyons!
It took a long journey and many different forms for Wendy to finally become #ChampChoo, and she’s not going to let go of what she has so easily! However, her challenger has had her own notorious history, going from Level Up to the independents, and now returning to the WWE. Will Sloane’s redemption story have a happy ending for her? Or will Wendy keep on living the dream?
The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see who’s the real star of the show!
We see in the VIP Lounge, it isn’t just PJ Vasa but Karmen Petrovic watching this very closely. The bell rings and Sloane runs up! Wendy dodges to CHOP, CHOP, and ROCK Sloane! Wendy bumps Sloane off buckles, then runs her side to side. Sloane stops the buckle bump to ELBOW Wendy, then she rolls for a leg clutch bridge! ONE, Wendy blocks a shot to give a shot, but Sloane hits back! Wendy ducks ‘n’ dodges to RANA! Then she DROPKICKS Sloane down! Cover, TWO! Sloane scrambles, Wendy whips her to the corner, but Sloane rolls to go up, out, and to the apron! Sloane swings but Wendy blocks!
Wendy ROCKS Sloane, avoids the shoulder thrust, and KICKS Sloane in the ropes! Then Wendy hits a CODE BREAKER! Sloane flops while Wendy shouts, “CHOO ON THAT!” The fans cheer Wendy while Evolve goes to break.
Evolve returns as Wendy ROCKS and whips Sloane to a corner. Sloane goes up and over, then gets under to Electric Chair Lift, and SLAM off the buckles! PJ and Karmen argue, perhaps about who is next after Succession. Sloane TACKLES Wendy to then rain down fists! Cover, TWO! Sloane puts Wendy on ropes to CHOKE, but the ref counts. Sloane stops at 4, then CHOPS Wendy! Sloane whips Wendy corner to corner, then scoops for a BACKBREAKER! Sloane keeps moving, and drops the leg, brother! Cover, TWO! Sloane is frustrated but the fans rally behind Wendy. Sloane drags Wendy into a headscissors and squeezes tight. The fans rally as Wendy endures. PJ and Karmen keep arguing while Wendy bridges back to a cover, TWO! Sloane neck wrenches but the fans rally up. Wendy fights up, pries the hold open, and arm-drags her away! The fans cheer as Wendy then blocks a shot to ROCK Sloane! And BODY BLOW! FRONT KICK! And CHOP!
Sloane swings, misses, and Wendy LARIATS! And LARIATS! Sloane goes to ropes, Wendy whips, but Sloane reverses, only for Wendy to reverse and hammerlock! LARIATO! The fans fire up with Wendy while Sloane goes to a corner. Wendy runs up, handsprings and ELBOWS Sloane! Wendy goes side to side, YAKUZA KICK! Wendy goes up, up, and CANNONBALLS! Down goes Sloane and Wendy covers, TWO! Wendy drags Sloane up in the half nelson, but Sloane drops down to somersault clutch, TWO! Wendy has it, TWO! Both women stand, Sloane ROUNDHOUSES! And X-FACTOR! Cover, TWO! Wendy survives and Sloane is furious!

Sloane goes up the corner again and Lyons likes the vibe! MACHO ELBOW! Cover, TWO!! Wendy survives and Lyons is “upset” on Sloane’s behalf. Sloane hurries to hook Wendy’s legs up, and she leans back, MUTA LOCK!! The “Siren Song” is on tight, but Wendy endures! Wendy crawls, dragging Sloane along, but Lyons ever so slightly pulls the ropes back! The ref reprimands, the fans cheer Wendy, and Wendy still manages the ROPEBREAK!
Sloane hurries to drag Wendy back, but Wendy turns over to trip Sloane up! DIRTNAP! But Sloane rolls to a cover, TWO! Sloane catches the legs, and she CATAPULTS Wendy into ropes! Then Sloane Electric Chair Lifts again, but Wendy fights free! DIRTNAP!! Sloane is caught, she TAPS! Wendy wins!!
Winner: Wendy Choo, by submission (still WWE Evolve Women’s Champion)
Lyons is “disappointed,” but at the same time, she still gets her shot at Wendy for Succession. Will Big Kat Kita catch Champ Choo sleeping on June 24th? Or will no one stop Wendy now? Oh wait, that arguing in the VIP Lounge turns into a fist fight! PJ HAMMERS away on Karmen, Karmen kicks at PJ, but PJ takes one of those big red boots off Karmen and throws it down on her! This issue will have #TubiContinued, but will PJ make sure Karmen learns her place and knows her role?
My Thoughts:
A very good episode for Evolve, and it seems they’re going to keep going with the trend of “previously on…” and “Tubi Continued” cliffhanger segments. I suppose that does separate Evolve from the rest of WWE presentation, but how does that work internationally when it’s on YouTube? It also feels a little too overdone. It should be done for special occasions, like a go-home segment before the Succession special. Max Abrams getting the drop on Rourke and then getting a match with Cappuccino Jones is a good segue between story beats, at least. Good promo with Thatcher and his security guys, and glad they finally got names. But I just knew Ash & Zanov were gonna miss CJ Valor and he’d cost Jones against Max.
Good promo from Sloane and Nikkita to put forward tonight’s card, and flowing right into Gianna VS Masyn was a good opener. It makes sense in story for Gianna to win so she can insult Anya with it, and all the more reason we need to see Gianna VS Anya at some point. Good match from Riggins VS Moreno, but of course Kam is the reason Romeo loses. Kam is basically on his way out, too, since he’s been on NXT a lot lately. Hopefully Jax Presley is on the mend, he’s been out for quite awhile, and Riggins is gonna need a buddy if he’s to keep up the bullying. It’s Gal had a good promo, but I wish he didn’t just snap back to being who he was, that he would get in the Mog Squad story and support his fellow 1.0 guys. He’s definitely losing his own Open Challenge, though.
Great debut for Elijah Holyfield, and it was just as I expected: quick and dominant. He’s in great shape, he’s clearly got the moves down, plus the name factor, he’ll be a top name for Evolve pretty quickly. Tristan Angels had a good promo, but aside from calling out Braxton and Harlem, I don’t think Tristan’s gonna be in Evolve long enough to get another title match. He’s literally on NXT trying to be “Mr. NXT” to prove a point to Shiloh Hill. Tristan maybe loses to Harlem Lewis to help propel Harlem forward, and then Tristan leaves Evolve to be NXT full-time.
And very good main event match from Wendy and Sloane. I’m a little surprised Lyons didn’t try to cheat things for Sloane beyond pulling the rope, because she could argue that beating Sloane would be easier than beating Wendy. But hey, she gets her match at Succession, and she’ll give Wendy a great title match. It’s hard to say who wins, as Wendy deserves to keep this reign going but Lyons kinda does deserve something after sticking it out through injuries and setbacks. I’m leaning 60-40 for Wendy, she probably faces PJ Vasa over the summer.
My Score: 8.7/10
