G1 Climax 36 B Block: Aaron Wolf VS Gabe Kidd!

The Big Bad NEVER Openweight Champion got his opening round win then a bye because of Shota Umino’s injury. The Mad Man IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion was shot down by “Drilla” Moloney, but got a giant win over Oskar. Who proves they’re the apex predator in this year’s G1?

Gabe pokes a bit of fun at Wolf’s judoka background by wearing a blue judogi to the ring. Gabe even says he’ll beat Wolf quick, like two minutes. Gabe throws a white judogi at Wolf, Wolf catches it, and he decides to put it on! The title belts are put aside, the bell rings, and the fans rally behind Wolf. Gabe plays around doing “tiger step” rope-a-dope, sitting down to put up a leg guard, then cartwheeling around. They circle, Wolf corners Gabe, but Gabe BITES Wolf! The fans boo while Gabe CLUBS away on Wolf! Gabe takes off his judogi to LASH Wolf with it! The fans boo as Gabe throws the judogi down and cusses everyone out.

Gabe flips Wolf off, but Wolf grabs that arm and IPPONS! Then STO! Then SAYANAGI! The fans fire up with Wolf while Gabe bails out! Gabe is furious but Wolf says he’s a pro-wrestler. Gabe storms up, trips Wolf, and he drags Wolf outside! Gabe throws forearms, but then Wolf THROWS Gabe! The fans cheer while Wolf takes off his judogi, but reconsiders lashing Gabe with it. The fans cheer Wolf putting the judogi aside, then Wolf stomps and ROCKS and CHOPS Gabe! Gabe sputters but Wolf CLUBS him on the back. Wolf then whips Gabe, but Gabe reverses! Wolf hits the railing hard, then Gabe POSTS him!

Gabe brings Wolf around, HEADBUTTS again and again, and he sits Wolf down. Gabe soaks up the heat, then has the cameras clear out from the ramp side. Gabe goes up the ramp, to the stage, and he makes lewd gestures at Wolf’s face on the big tron image before running back down the ramp! But Wolf dodges that top speed lariat, and clinches Gabe for an URENAGE on the floor! The fans fire up but the ref checks Gabe. Gabe is able to continue, so Wolf drags him up and puts him in the ring. The fans applaud, and Wolf stands Gabe up. Gabe UPPERCUTS Wolf, but Wolf DECKS Gabe! The fans fire up again as Gabe flounders to ropes.

Wolf eggs Gabe on while Gabe goes to a corner. Gabe drags himself up, Wolf runs in, and Wolf LARIATS! Wolf then brings Gabe around, snap suplexes, and the fans cheer as Wolf runs, to ELBOW DROP! Cover, TWO! Gabe toughs it out and the fans rally again. Wolf brings Gabe up, reels Gabe in, but Gabe fights the lift! Wolf drives in ELBOW after ELBOW, and talks trash that Wolf’s no pro-wrestler, he’s just a- BASEMENT ANGLE SLAM! The fans fire up as Wolf runs in at Gabe, but Gabe BOOTS back! Gabe fires a flurry of forearms, but Wolf just stares Gabe down! Wolf then winds up, and he CHOPS! Gabe drops to his knees and the fans fire back up! Wolf reels Gabe in, but Gabe suplexes, and BRAINBUSTERS! Both men are down again as the fans fire up! Gabe snarls as he sits up, and he storms over to Wolf. Gabe sits Wolf up so he can HEADBUTT again and again, then HIP THRUST! The fans boo but Gabe talks trash on everyone. Gabe mockingly asks where Hiroshi Tanahashi is, then mocks the Ace pose with a middle finger added. Gabe goes up the corner, tells the fans to shut up, but Wolf CHOPS him!

The fans rally up as Wolf climbs up the corner! Wolf brings Gabe up and onto his shoulders for a fireman’s carry. Gabe fights with elbows, but Wolf still stands! SUPER DEATH VALLEY DRIVER!! The fans are fired up again while both men are down! The fans rally for Wolf as hard as they can, and Wolf crawls his way over to Gabe. Wolf grabs Gabe’s arm and reels him into the INVERTED TRIANGLE HOLD! Gabe flails, reaches out, bridges back, and he BITES Wolf’s leg!! The fans boo and the ref reprimands, but Gabe’s resorting to underhanded tactics now. Wolf fights through the pain to bring Gabe up, but Gabe SLAPS away from all sides!

The Giant German fell hard against Gabe Kidd last round while The Mauler overpowered “Drilla” Moloney. Can Henare conquer this round, as well? Or will Oskar truly stand tall?

The bell rings and the two step up. The fans rally and duel, Oskar shoves Henare, but Henare fires a forearm! Oskar fires back, they go back and forth, and Oskar ROCKS Henare again and again! Henare fires forearms in return, then runs, and he RAMS Oskar! Oskar doesn’t even move! Henare runs again, RAMS Oskar again, but Oskar is still up! Oskar eggs Henare on, Henare runs, and they RAM, and RAM, but then Oskar BOOTS Henare! Henare UPPERCUTS back, then runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, only for Oskar to go the other way! Oskar RUNS Henare over and Henare bails out while the fans fire up! Henare snarls as he goes around the way.

Oskar steps outside, kicks Henare, then CLUBS him. Henare fires a forearm, Oskar fires back, and they go back and forth. Henare uses the DEATH GRIP on Oskar! Oskar breaks free, and he whips Henare hard into railing! Henare leans against the railing, Oskar runs up! Henare dodges and Oskar crashes into railing! Henare whips, Oskar reverses, and Henare hits railing again! The fans applaud while Henare slumps down. Oskar drags Henare into the ring and the fans applaud again. Oskar storms up to the apron, guzels Henare, but Henare breaks free! Henare then catches Oskar into a nelson, but Oskar powers up!

Henare lets go to BODY BLOW, then he BLASTS Oskar down! Oskar hits the railing and almost crashes into commentary! The fans rally while Oskar is down, but Henare roars and storms around. The ref checks on Oskar and Oskar is able to continue, despite the pain in his ribs. The ring count starts, Oskar is still down at 5 of 20, but he drags himself in at 8. The fans cheer but Henare stalks Oskar to the corner. Henare KNEES low, KNEES again, then whips, only for Oskar to block! The ref counts the ropebreak, but Henare KNEES Oskar again! Oskar falls and flounders away, but Henare stalks him.

Henare sits Oskar up to KICK! Henare gets in Oskar’s face, Oskar fires a forearm, but Henare KICKS Oskar back! Oskar grits his teeth, but Henare KICKS him down and SENTONS on top! Cover, TWO! Oskar toughs it out and the fans applaud. Henare takes a moment to fix his laces, then he goes back to Oskar. Henare drags Oskar up, CLUBS him, then reels him in. But Oskar fights the lift! Henare CLUBS away on Oskar again, but still Oskar fights the lift! Oskar BACKDROPS Henare away! The fans cheer Oskar and he runs up to RUN Henare over! The fans fire up as Oskar runs and ELBOWS Henare in the corner!

Oskar snapmares Henare down, then drops the leg, but FLOPS as Henare moves! Henare runs up, but Oskar blocks the kick! Oskar CHOPS Henare down! Then he JUMP ELBOW DROPS! Cover, TWO! Henare survives but the fans rally up behind Oskar again. Oskar slaps himself to fire back up, then he brings Henare around. Oskar scoops, but his ribs won’t let him hold Henare up! Oskar BOOTS Henare, but Henare just snarls. Henare stares Oskar down, so Oskar CHOPS! Henare CHOPS! They start throwing forearms again, then Oskar CHOPS! Henare CHOPS back! The CHOPS go back and forth, Henare gets the edge, and he CHOPS again and again! Henare roars, the fans rally up, and Henare winds up to LARIAT! Oskar wobbles, drops to a knee, and Henare roars again. The fans cheer as Henare runs, but into another BOOT! Henare rebounds, Oskar blocks a lariat, but Henare comes back to LARIAT after all! The fans fire up and Henare reels Oskar in. Oskar still fights the lift, so Henare CLUBS, CLUBS, and CHOPS! Oskar stands up to glare at Henare. Oskar CHOPS! Henare ROCKS! Oskar CHOPS again! The Heat Storm shined bright as the sun in last round’s main event while 44 Caliber misfired. Can Drilla lock ‘n’ load and get a rebound win? Or will Yuya continue to blaze a trail to the top?

The bell rings and the fans duel already. The crowd seems pretty even, and Drilla offers a handshake. Yuya accepts and the fans cheer. The two circle, tie up, and are in a deadlock. Yuya wrenches, wristlocks, but Drilla slips around, only for Yuya to hammerlock. Drilla reaches back to snapmare, but Yuya slips free to armlock again. Drilla fights back up, arm-drags, but Yuya arm-drags Drilla right back. Yuya still has the armlock, but Drilla stands up. Drilla wrenches and wristlocks, Yuya rolls and wrenches, but Drilla breaks free. The fans cheer as the two stand off. Drilla and Yuya reset, circle again, and Drilla calls for a knuckle lock.

Yuya obliges, they feel out the knuckle lock, then go shoulder to shoulder in a Test of Strength. The fans rally as Drilla hooks a leg, but it’s Yuya who powers Drilla back! Drilla powers up and he starts to bend Yuya back! Yuya bridges, even as Drilla hops on! The fans cheer, Drilla tries again, but Yuya turns that into a MONKEY FLIP! Both men are down, cover, TWO as they get a hand up! But resting means they’re both in the double cover, TWO as they get the other hand up! Another rest, another cover, TWO as both men bridge! The fans cheer as the two even stare down while bridging. They turn over, stand up, and Yuya kicks the knuckle lock.

Yuya arm-drags Drilla down, but Drilla fights off the armbar by clasping hands. Drilla reaches up to headscissor, but Yuya kips free. Yuya arm-drags again! And arm-drags again! Drilla blocks the third, but Yuya slips around for a waistlock. Drilla ELBOWS free, runs, but into an arm-drag! Yuya has the armlock again while the fans cheer. Drilla endures, fights around, and the fans rally up. Drilla RAMS Yuya into the corner, but he backs off as Red Shoes calls the break. Drilla then CHOPS Yuya! Yuya fires a flurry of forearms, then CLOBBERS Drilla! And arm-drags! The fans cheer as Yuya goes right back to the armlock.

Drilla fights around, stands up, and he fires forearms. Drilla gets Yuya to let go, but Yuya grabs the arm to wrench and arm-drag! Drilla headscissors and this time holds tight! The fans rally as Drilla puts on the pressure and Yuya endures. Yuya fights around, bridges back, and moves around. Yuya headstands, but Drilla SHORT DRIVERS! The fans rally as Drilla hurries to bring Yuya up. NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Yuya survives and the fans rally up again. Drilla snarls, he stalks Yuya, but Yuya pushes him away. Yuya clutches the neck, but Drilla stands Yuya up to CLUB him down! And CLUB him again!

The fans rally as Drilla clamps onto Yuya with a chinbar, even trapping an arm. Yuya fights around, but Drilla wrangles him into a chinlock stretch! Yuya kicks, kicks, and has the ROPEBREAK! The fans applaud while Drilla lets go in frustration. Drilla stands Yuya up to CHOP him! Drilla puts Yuya in the corner to LARIAT again and again and again! Red Shoes counts, Drilla stops at 4, and he brings Yuya out. Drilla turns Yuya, but Yuya slips free and shoves Drilla. Drilla comes back, Yuya dodges to go up, up, and CROSSBODY! Direct hit, and the fans cheer as both men are down. Drilla flounders to a corner, but Yuya heads after him.

Yuya CHOPS Drilla, CHOPS again, then whips corner to corner. Drilla reverses, Yuya goes up and over, but Drilla fakes out the arm-drag! Oklahoma Roll, TWO! Yuya headlocks but Drilla powers up and out. Yuya avoids the dropdown to body scissor roll, TWO! Yuya runs up, FLYING ARM-DRAG, then a DROPKICK! The fans fire up with Yuya, and he waits on Drilla. Drilla goes to a corner, Yuya runs up to CHOP! Yuya reels Drilla in, HALF HATCH PLEX! Cover, TWO! ARMBAR! Drilla clasps hands to fight it off, then he moves to stack Yuya up! Yuya shifts into a TRIANGLE HOLD, but Drilla deadlifts Yuya!

The fans fire up as Yuya slips through the bomb, but Drilla just has him in a fireman’s carry now! DEATH VALLEY BOMB! The fans fire up again while both men are down! Drilla rises up while Yuya rolls towards a corner. Drilla runs in and RAMS Yuya! Drilla snapmares Yuya, then goes up the corner! The fans cheer Drilla as he aims, DIVING- NO, Yuay avoids the stomps, but runs into a SPINEBUSTER! Drilla goes back up, aims again, and MACHO ELBOWS! Cover, TWO! Yuya survives and the fans cheer again! Drilla rises as the fans duel, and he storms over to Yuya. Drilla drags Yuya up, reels him in, but Yuya BACKDROPS!

Yuya grabs Drilla’s hand for a wristlock and puts on the pressure. Drilla spins but Yuya wrenches. Drilla rolls but Yuya still wrenches! Drilla reaches for the ropes, but Yuya keeps him away! Yuya puts on more pressure, but Drilla still reaches out! Yuya wrangles Drilla again, but Drilla snarls as he stands. Drilla YANKS Yuya along to the ropes for a HOTSHOT! The fans cheer while both men are down again. Yuya rises, he comes back for Drilla, but Drilla fights the nelson! Drilla breaks the grip, fires elbows, but Yuya ducks! BELLY2- NO, Drilla BELL CLAPS free! Drilla runs up, but Yuya catches him! Drilla stops the nelson but not the GERMAN SUPLEX!

Both men hurry to their feet, Drilla ducks ‘n’ dodges, and GORE!! But he can’t make the cover! The fans fire up again as both men stir. The dueling is strong as ever, and maybe moving in Drilla’s favor. Drilla and Yuya go to center, and Drilla CHOPS! Yuya snarls, fires a forearm, but Drilla ROCKS Yuya! Yuya comes back and ROCKS Drilla! Drilla comes back and ROCKS Yuya! Yuya fires forearm after forearm, but Drilla ducks, ripcords, only for Yuya to block the chop! And ARMBAR TAKEDOWN! Drilla hurries to clasp hands but Yuya pulls on the arm! The fans rally harder, Drilla rolls to stack, TWO!! Drilla is free, but Yuya CHOPS! Drilla spins through to CHOP!

Yuya DOUBLE CHOPS, but then Drilla ducks, ripcords, and CHOPS! Yuya PELES! Drilla falls to a corner, Yuya fires up, but then Drilla JUMPING SUPERKICKS!! Cover, TWO!! The fans fire up with Drilla and he brings Yuya up. Canadian Rack, and DRIL- NO, Yuya slips free! Yuya cording holds, but Drilla slips through, and DRILLA- NO, Yuya lands out, then high stacks! TWO!!
