She tells whoever it is on the other end, “Yes, the gold ones. Obviously they’re more expensive, that’s the point! Look, it’s what Nikkita likes, so it better be there, okay? Everyone who is someone will be there celebrating the new Evolve Women’s Champion tonight, you better not mess this up.” Sloane ends her phone call to say that she sent invitations to all of the WWE and NXT superstars, and even some celebrities who are fans of Nikkita, as they should be. “Tonight, we celebrate Nikkita Lyons, we celebrate the greatest Evolve Women’s Champion of all time, with the grandest party Evolve has ever seen.” That might be the plan, but is someone about to crash that party?

Blake Howard is ringside with Robert Stone.

The fans cheer as Blake welcomes Mr. Stone back to Evolve, but Stone makes sure you remember, it’s NXT General Manager, Robert Stone. But he has to say, he is happy to be back here to scout some talent on a Wednesday night. With that, The Mog Squad makes their way out, mics in hand and smiles ear to ear. Stone is on commentary to say clearly, the OGs built this house, but The Mog Squad wants the keys. The four go to the ring, and Max Abrams says, “Ladies with gentle hands, please, my eyes are up here. Sunglasses off. Simmer down, simmer down. We are on a generational run right now. Because not only are we looks maxing, but we’re backing it up by win maxing!

“And last week, it might’ve been the mogging of the century when we beat the ID 1.0 Chad-lites!” CJ Valor steps in and says let’s be honest, they all know that it was much more than just a win. Big CJ is right! Max is being a Humble King, cuz they swept ’em! 3-0! Bring out the brooms! Applause for that accomplishment. The fans boo instead. But Max says now is time for some well-deserved shoutouts. Santi, Jacari, you both have ascended as a team. Last week, there was some sweetness shown from Santi, and there was some ball knowledge from Jacari. Together, they brought the team glory! Santi says Max has such a way with words.

But let’s talk about this guy right here! Jacari Ball is a beast! An athlete! A specimen! Then you pair that with the man built by #DivineDesign… CJ loves when Santi says that. Santi says it just makes winning too easy. Jacari says Santi is too kind. But Santi’s been handling business, Jacari’s been handling business, and together, they’ve been running through this whole brand! Running laps! And to be quite frank, they’re the fastest-rising team on Evolve! CJ says the fact is, they’ve proven time and time again why no one in the locker room wants to compete with them. Max says there’s also a reason CJ is the X-Factor! Nobody wants to mess with CJ Valor!

And together, there are no holes in their game. Mog real quick. The fans boo as they all strike poses. Max says as a unit, they’re taking it all the way! They’ve got the fastest rising team in Ball & Rivera! And then there’s Max, the leader of #HotBoySummer! CJ says the fact is, after dismantling ID 1.0, the squad is unstoppable! That’s a great word! Great word! Now the question is: Who’s next? Oh, great question! But wait, Foreman Thatcher makes his way out here! “You Mog Squad, you’re so full of yourselves, aren’t ya? Well since your running your moi, let’s see if you can back it up.” Thatcher’s been talking with Mr. Stone, and well…

Thatcher watches from the lounge as the bell rings, and the fans rally as Cutler circles with CJ. They tie up, are in a deadlock, but then Cutler shifts to a headlock for the takeover. CJ headscissors, Cutler kips free, and Cutler headlocks for another takeover. CJ headscissors again, but Cutler kips free again. Cutler headlocks but CJ powers up and out, only for Cutler to RUN CJ over! Cutler headlocks, but CJ powers up and pries the hold open. Cutler clamps the headlock on tighter, but CJ RAMS him into a corner. The ref counts, CJ SHOVES Cutler, then flexes. But Cutler TACKLES CJ! CJ kicks free, then hits an ARMBAR TAKEDOWN!

Cutler fights around, stacks, TWO! CJ still wants the armbar but Cutler rolls again. Cutler deadlifts CJ, CJ sunset flips, but Cutler yanks CJ back up! Cutler hits a fireman’s carry throw, has the arm, but CJ rolls to armlock Cutler. Cutler powers up and out to arm-drag and RUN CJ over! Things keep moving, CJ drops down, hurdles over, then dodges, but Cutler HIP TOSSES! Cover, TWO! Cutler is annoyed but the fans rally behind him. Cutler scoops CJ, but CJ CLAWS Cutler’s eyes! The fans boo, the ref reprimands, but CJ DROPKICKS Cutler into buckles! CJ runs up, Cutler dodges, and Cutler RAMS into CJ again and again!

Cutler whips corner to corner, RAMS into CJ, then whips back the other way. Cutler RAMS CJ again, then POP-UP UPPERCUTS! The fans fire up for Cutler, but Santi & Jacari get on the apron. Cutler storms over and they back off, and the ref reprimands them. Cutler runs up on CJ but Max helps CJ get to safety! Cutler POSTS himself! The fans boo as Cutler slumps to the outside, and The Mog Squad all flexes while Evolve goes to break.

Evolve returns as Cutler endures the cobra clutch. CJ leans on the hold but Cutler fights up to RAM him into the corner! CJ avoids a lariat but not the BOOT! Cutler runs up, CJ dodges again to O’Conner Roll and CHAOS THEORY! Cutler flounders while CJ fires up, but the fans boo the “X-Factor.” CJ ROCKS Cutler, ROCKS him again, then wrenches to hammerlock and RAM Cutler into buckles! CJ WRINGS the bad arm, then bumps Cutler off buckles. CJ bumps Cutler off more buckles, then more buckles. The Mog Squad cheers as CJ DROPKICKS Cutler down! Then he SPINEBUSTERS! High stack, TWO!

The fans fire up as Cutler survives, but the squad is going from mog to mad! CJ stomps Cutler around, drags him up to wrench and CLUB the arm, then KNEES Cutler down! The fans rally for Cutler but CJ ROCKS Cutler. CJ KNEES Cutler against the ropes, then short arm LARIATS! Cover, TWO! Cutler toughs it out but CJ clamps on with a chinlock. The fans rally as Cutler fights up again. Cutler turns and pries the hold open, but CJ trips him up! CJ then goes up the corner, and DIVING HEADBUTT FLOPS as Cutler dodges! C’mon!” The Mog Squad is freaking out, and now they’re up against Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno! Will The Hellcat & Divine Design suffer the same fate as CJ? The teams sort out and Jacari starts against Romeo. They circle, feel things out, and tie up. Jacari pushes Romeo down, hops over to waistlock and gator roll, but then Romeo switches and floats around. Romeo facelocks to gator roll with Jacari, and he BACKDROPS Jacari away! Romeo kips up, clamps onto an arm, and tags Dar. Jacari gets away to tag Santi. The fans rally behind Dar as he and Santi tie up. Dar goes for an arm, wrenches to the wristlock, but Santi reverses back. Dar reaches back, fireman’s carries, and he headlocks. The fans cheer but Santi fights up. Tag back to Santi and he jumps in, and he RAMS Romeo again and again! The ref counts, Santi backs off, then runs up, but into a BOOT! Romeo ELBOWS Jacari, BOOTS Santi again, and repeat! Jacari anchors a foot, Santi GAMANGIRIS! Jacari tags in, he BLASTS Dar, and Santi sets up for the MOGGING IN MOTION! The fans boo but Jacari covers, TWO! The fans cheer as Dar drapes Jacari off the top rope, Romeo springboards, DROPKICK LONDON TOWER COMBO! Cover, but Santi breaks it! Santi then UPPERCUTS Dar, runs, and KNEE SMASHES! Romeo runs up, Santi dodges, then Santi blocks! Romeo BOOTS back, then he makes sure Jacari is in the right position. Max swipes at Romeo but Romeo kicks him away! The Mog Squad is already celebrating, but the ref clears up the confusion! He didn’t call for the bell as he corrected his error, this match is still going! And Romeo FLIES out onto The Mog Squad! #Daromeo survive and turn it all around! The Mog Squad keeps on losing, and they’re upset with Thatcher putting them through this., But then he says, “Before you go… It looks like it’s up to you, Max, isn’t it? You’re the only one left. But I’ll be a nice guy, we’ll wait ’til next week. But next week, you’re gonna face a man that you attacked, a man that’s been on NXT and TNA this year. Next week, you and Chazz ‘Starboy’ Hall.” The fans like the sound of that! Max doesn’t sweat the Denim Dragon, but will he keep that Main Man Energy next week? Or will Starboy shine brighter than ever during this “Hot Boy Summer?”

Sloane Jacobs is talking with Gianna Capri and Veronica Haven in the locker room.

Evolve Media is spying on them as Sloane talks with her fellow ID 2.0 prospects about attending Lyons’ party. Then Zena Sterling walks in and asks about the party. Sloane says this was their conversation, maybe Zena should just go. Zena says yeah, fine, she’ll go. Sloane is keeping the Evolve portion of the guest list tight, but will she regret it?

Harley Riggins and Aaron Rourke meet face to face.

Killjoy and Dime Piece meet backstage, and Harlem says Rourke asked for this meeting. Rourke says it is official, they are facing off for the title next week. Harlem says it’s about time he gets his shot, he won’t let it slip through his fingers. The title represents his future, his family’s future, and- Rourke stops Harlem there. He doesn’t need to tell Rourke his backstory. We all know he comes from humble beginnings, and Rourke is sure there was a time when Harlem felt like he’d never amount to anything. Rourke understands that. He also knows that can make someone desperate. But Harlem showed Rourke who he truly is standing beside him against The Mog Squad.

Harlem says desperation won’t make him compromise who he is. See, he respects Rourke, because he knows what Rourke’s been through just to have that title. Harlem knows Rourke’s heard all the insults, but look at him now, making history as the champion of WWE Evolve. But every story in history comes to an end. Rourke says yes, but this is just the first chapter of the story he is writing. Not just for himself, but for the people who grew up feeling the way he did. And that’s why Harlem needs this! People like him aren’t supposed to make it here! They don’t have people opening doors for them. All they have is what they’re willing to fight for.

Harlem has been suppressing his anger his whole life, ignoring disrespect, and gritting his teeth when people told him he’d amount to nothing. When that bell rings, there’s no more suppressing. That anger will be directed right at Rourke, and when it is over, the world will see what a kid who came from nothing can accomplish. Rourke says Harlem makes it like he doesn’t know about anger, about rage. But Harlem said it himself, he’s been called everything under the sun, been beaten down, bet against. He just doesn’t show it like Harlem does. But if Harlem wants rage, Rourke will give him what he wants.

Rourke will show the world that he may be glamour, but he’s glamour with grit. Then show the world. They fist bump out of respect, but who will unleash everything they have in order to be WWE Evolve Champion?

Kale Dixon and Kylee Quinn have a photoshoot.

The “good looking people” are enjoying themselves and their hotness. Kale gets to have a solo set, and he says the Tubi ratings are about to go through the roof. Kylee says no doubt about it! Now for Kylee’s solo turn. They love looking so good. But will they prove they’re more than just a couple pretty faces by stepping in the ring?

Harley Riggins VS Ulka Sasaki!

#GnarlyHarley wanted to settle things with the Modern Day Cowboy, Tate Wilder, but Tate was not medically cleared after the damage taken against Keanu Carver and Naraku on NXT. So instead, Riggins gets to welcome Pro-Wrestling Noah’s rising star and a former UFC fighter on top of that! Will Riggins send Sasaki back to Japan? Or will he be caught by surprise by the former GHC National Champion?

The bell rings and Sasaki offers a handshake. Riggins kicks it away! So Sasaki fires forearms and uppercuts! Sasaki runs, RAMS Riggins, but Riggins smirks. Sasaki RAMS him again, Riggins talks trash, so Sasaki JAWBREAKERS! Then he RUNS Riggins over! The fans cheer as Sasaki covers, ONE and with some power! Riggins runs up, Sasaki dodges, roll, and FUJIWARA ARMBAR! Riggins endures, reaches out, but Sasaki shifts the hold. Riggins pulls hair, whips Sasaki, but Sasaki dodges a boot. Riggins scoops to POWERSLAM! Sasaki goes to a corner, Riggins BOOTS him and fires hands! Riggins talks trash then CHOPS!

Practically a knockout shot on the former UFC fighter, Riggins is finally rolling. Adriana Rizzo returns as Evolve’s newest correspondent, and she’s ringside to ask, where is Kam Hendrix? No one’s seen him tonight. Riggins says he and Kam Hendrix have been riding together for a long time, they’ve got each other’s backs, but honestly, time for the #BigRig to ride alone. Tate Wilder, whatever medical room you’re in, get back to Evolve! Because the Big Rig parks wherever he wants to, and he’s gonna cool your ass off! Riggins rolls on, will he run through anyone and everyone put in front of him?

Evolve shares footage of Elijah Holyfield’s fight camp.

Here at the Performance Center, Elijah is training with Noam Dar, and says before Dar leaves, he wants to share something. Elijah has been rewatching his match with Brooks Jensen, and he brings up how Jensen used the exposed turnbuckle but also bringing Elijah down from the corner to get him. Does Dar have any pointers on a counter? Dar says Jensen is a veteran, and he used Elijah’s urgency against him. It’s emotional going against a guy like Jensen, but that’s what gave him that opening. So if Elijah has the time, Dar can show him some counters. Dar goes to the corner, Elijah goes up, and Dar jokingly pleads that he not punch Dar, he’s not Jensen.

But speaking of Jensen, he walks into the Performance Center at this very moment. Dar brings up that if Elijah is leaning too far forward, that throws his balance off. Dar yanks Elijah down but Elijah lands on his feet. Dar says make sure you have a solid base. If Jensen goes for this leg, feel the difference in your balance. If Dar is Jensen, he’ll try that trap, but that means he’s falling for your trap. Jensen nods, seems he’s learning some things, too. Dar is glad he could help Elijah. Elijah says he appreciates Dar, and is ready to get his lick back. He’ll be one step ahead of Jensen now. Dar says Elijah put the work in, it’ll show.

Dar can’t wait to see Elijah get back at Jensen. Punch that mustache off for Dar. Jensen sucks! But now that Jensen knows what Elijah knows, will Jensen have new tricks up his proverbial sleeve?

Shido Ash & Viktor Zanov speak.

They introduce themselves, and say yeah, they started here as security. But look at them. They’re much more than that! They’re former judo Olympians, and they only took this security job because Thatcher didn’t have anything else for them. It was their way to get in the door, and they kicked that door down! They were never here to “serve and protect,” like Americans say. They were here to force themselves into the division! And that all culminated at Succession. They laid everybody out, because they are bigger, better, and badder than everybody else! Their time in security is over, but they ain’t leaving! Everyone’s scared of them now, as they should be!

From now on, Ash & Zanov do what they want, when they want, and are coming after everything!

Sloane Jacobs is in the ring.

She, along with Gianna Capri & Veronica Haven, have everything already set up, and Sloane says, “Hello, hello, hello, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the grandest party in Evolve history! Now, no party is complete without a guest of honor, so you all better join me in welcoming our guest of honor, the Lioness, the Divine Feline, our NEW Evolve Women’s Champion, and my friend, Nikkita Lyons!” The fans are torn but Lyons indeed makes her entrance, and has a mic in hand so she can rap her theme song live and in person! Lyons then joins Sloane and the others in the ring, and Sloane says that was majestic!

Sloane is tearing up, there is no one more deserving than Lyons, no one who works as hard as Lyons! She deserves this moment! Lyons says yes, thank you. She has envisioned this very moment, standing in this ring, title around her waist, surrounded by divine souls such as Sloane, Veronica, Gianna, and… quite a few more people… But she understands, she’ll trust the process. Sloane says yes, of course! It isn’t a party with just one VIP, so let’s invite more guests! Sloane says let’s really get the party started! Come on out, y’all! … Um, she said, let’s get the party started?! No one is coming, Lyons says this isn’t the vibe.

Lyons says let’s move onto some “oracle cards” to see if they can get a reading on who her first challenger should be. Sloane says Lyons doesn’t have to worry about any of that. All those girls in this locker room are just jealous! Lyons got the job done when they couldn’t. So they all know Wendy Choo’s victory was a fluke. And Laynie Luck getting the first shot when it should’ve been Lyons’s, that’s a handout. They don’t need that negative energy souring their- WAIT! Wren Sinclair is here?! The WWE Women’s Speed Champion says #HappyWrensday! Sloane says she told them there’d be guests from NXT!

Lyons says yeah, wrong show, Wren, but thanks for coming. Wren says she did get an invitation. Not sure where Kendal Grey’s went. But hey, since Evolve is a place where anything can happen, why not show up so she can add the Evolve title back into the #WrenQCC collection? Lyons says no, not happening! Sloane is in a panic, but now Skylar Raye appears! Skylar says Wren has a great point. As the LFG Season 2 Women’s Champion, she’s in contention for that title! Lyons says this is ridiculous. But then Layla Diggs steps right up, and Sloane says this is getting ridiculous! Her invited guests show up to challenge when this is about celebrating Lyons!

And now Layla, who was NOT invited, is here?! What does she even want? Miss Everything grabs herself a mic to say they’re right, she’s not here for the party. But she is here to say that from now on, she’s moving on her own. And Nikkita, Layla beat you once, so she’d love to run it back with the title on the line. Gianna steps up to tell Layla to back off, and then Veronica sucker punches Layla! The fans boo, but Wren and Skylar rush the ring! They TACKLE Sloane and Gianna! It’s a brawl all around ringside, and Lyons is amused now. But then surprise! Laynie Luck sneaks in with a new look! And she CLOBBERS Lyons!

Laynie fireman’s carries, DEATH VALLEY DRIVER down through the table! No cake to make a mess this time, but this was good enough. Laynie holds up the Evolve Women’s Championship, is her luck about to change? Can Lyons survive being turned from hunter to hunted?

My Thoughts:

A very good Evolve, though I feel like we’re starting to see the domino effect of main roster bringing up NXT stars, and therefore NXT needing to bring up Evolve stars, but also maybe just some releases from some stars not working out. Layla Diggs herself just said she’s gonna be solo, which also kinda flies in the face of what she’s doing on NXT being part of Team Nattie right alongside Lyons. Hopefully there’s a new filming session soon that can course correct based on current NXT continuity. But hey, seeing Layla, Wren, and Skylar go after Sloane, Gianna and Veronica sounds like a really good Six Woman Tag in the making. Then Laynie going after Lyons was great, too, and it’d be something if Laynie won the title this second time around.

Riggins VS Sasaki was good, a little annoyed that Riggins won, but I guess he has to stay strong until they can make that blowoff between Riggins and Tate work. Good promo from Elijah and Dar with Jensen spying, and it sounds like Jensen is gonna find a new way to cheat Elijah. Good promo from Ash & Zanov, but I still question the point of tag teams in Evolve when Evolve only has two titles. Speaking of, good promo from Harlem and Rourke to officially set up their title match, which will be great stuff next week. Hard to say who wins that, Rourke had a great journey to the top but Harlem’s been on one of his own, so it could be 50-50.

Fun seeing Robert Stone back on Evolve, I think this means this episode was recorded while Pete Rosenberg was traveling with the main roster for things like Clash in Italy and Night of Champions. Good opening promo from The Mog Squad because it was what Heels should be doing, and that’s patting themselves on the back while annoying all the fans. But then great bit of payback as Thatcher made them all face mystery opponents. Great win for Cutler James, great win for Dar & Romeo, and I’m hoping for a great win for Starboy, but I guess that depends on the plans for the men’s title and how Max fits into it.
