AEW has taken legal action against the production company behind Queen of the Ring, claiming it is still owed more than $105,000 from the promotion’s sponsorship agreement with the film.

AEW Sues Queen of the Ring Production Company Over Unpaid Fees

All Elite Wrestling has filed a lawsuit against Ring Productions LLC, alleging that the company behind Queen of the Ring failed to make more than $105,000 in required payments. The two companies signed a sponsorship agreement in January 2025 worth approximately $350,000. AEW promoted the Mildred Burke biopic through sponsored matches, trailer placement during broadcasts, ringside appearances by cast members and social media promotion involving AEW talent.

Ring Productions paid $250,000 by May 2025 but allegedly left $100,000 in sponsorship fees and more than $5,000 in talent travel expenses unpaid. AEW is also seeking the 1.5% monthly interest outlined in the agreement. The lawsuit was filed June 26 in Duval County, Florida. Ring Productions had not formally responded to the suit or been served as of Tuesday’s report.

The agreement reportedly called for disputes to be settled through private arbitration, making AEW’s decision to file the case publicly in Florida court another issue that could factor into the proceedings.

Keith Lee Rumored to Have Quietly Retired

Keith Lee may have already competed in the final match of his professional wrestling career. Bryan Alvarez reported that the belief among people within the wrestling industry is that Lee is likely retired, although Alvarez emphasized that he could not confirm the situation with complete certainty.

Lee has not wrestled since December 2023, when he defeated Brian Cage during an episode of AEW Collision. A planned match against Swerve Strickland was later canceled after Lee announced that he needed surgery.

The former NXT Champion remains listed on AEW’s roster and has never publicly announced his retirement. Lee stated last year that he had been healthy for some time but indicated that the decision regarding when he would return was not his to make.

There had reportedly been discussions about bringing Lee back to AEW programming earlier this summer, but those plans never materialized. Until Lee or AEW provides confirmation, his retirement remains an industry belief rather than an official announcement.

Saturday Night’s Main Event Card Appears Set for Madison Square Garden

WWE will return to Madison Square Garden Saturday with a four-match card featuring several of the company’s top champions and SummerSlam rivals.

Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk will team with Cody Rhodes against Gunther and Sami Zayn in the featured match. Punk and Rhodes will have to coexist despite being scheduled to challenge one another for the championship.

Bayley will face former partner Lyra Valkyria after Valkyria blamed Bayley for holding her back and attacked her former mentor on Raw.

Danhausen’s match against JD McDonagh has been made a No Disqualification Match following weeks of issues with The Judgment Day.

New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson will also appear alongside World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns for what WWE has described as an acknowledgment at Madison Square Garden.

Kenny Omega Leads AEW Dynamite to Its Largest Audience of 2026

Kenny Omega’s AEW World Championship victory over MJF produced Dynamite’s strongest TBS television audience of the year. The July 8 Beach Break episode averaged 773,000 viewers, an increase from 634,000 the previous week. The prior ten episodes averaged 636,000 viewers.

Dynamite also earned a 0.12 rating among viewers between the ages of 18 and 49, compared to a 0.09 rating two weeks earlier. The numbers only account for viewers watching on TBS. Audience figures from the show’s simultaneous streaming presentation on HBO Max are not released publicly.

Omega defeated MJF in a match stipulating that another loss would prevent him from ever challenging for the AEW World Championship again. The victory also set up Omega’s championship defense against Will Ospreay at All In.

Lola Vice Earns Another Match Against Kendal Grey

Lola Vice defeated Kelani Jordan and Kali Armstrong in Tuesday’s NXT main event, earning another opportunity against NXT Women’s Champion Kendal Grey. Vice capitalized after Jordan landed a 450 splash on Armstrong. Vice knocked Jordan out of the ring and fell across Armstrong to score the winning pinfall.

Zaria successfully defended the NXT Women’s North American Championship against Nikkita Lyons, Izzi Dame and Lizzy Rain. Jaida Parker prevented interference from Nattie Neidhart and Karmen Petrovic before Zaria finished Lyons with an F5. Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes also retained the NXT Tag Team Championship against Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux.

WWE Partners With ReelShort for Original Microdrama

WWE is expanding into mobile-first scripted entertainment through a new partnership with ReelShort. Drew McIntyre, Jacob Fatu and Joe Hendry will appear alongside ReelShort performers Marc Herrmann and Chase Mattson in an original live-action vertical series. Production is scheduled to begin in August, with the project expected to debut during the fall. Details regarding the storyline have not been announced.

The partnership gives WWE another way to place its performers outside traditional wrestling programming while reaching an audience accustomed to consuming short, vertically formatted entertainment on mobile devices.
