The fans are stunned and DVD is himself surprised, but DVD hurries to a corner. DVD goes up, up, and FROG- NO, DVD has to bail out as Brad moves! Brad ELBOWS DVD, but DVD lifts Brad! Smokes sneaks a tag, and he HOTSHOTS DVD! Brad ripcords Smokes for the CODE BREAKER! Smokes slingshot SPEARS! Cover, Legacy DOUBLE STOMPS it apart! The fans are thunderous as all four men are down! “This is Awesome!” as Brad hurries up. Brad KICKS Legacy out, and Smokes tags Brad back in. The fans boo but Drake can breathe again as his bro saves his other bro! The fans rally up as Legacy rises at the ropes. Legacy drags Smokes but his arms bother him. Myles says it’s alright, though, because they’ll ruin Vanity Project’s night when Tavion drives Drake through that mat. Heights agrees with that, too! And if Myles is so sick of tired with those bums, Heights knows a couple stallions who could take the title from them no sweat. Myles isn’t sure about that, but… Kam Hendrix steps in and mockingly says it’s sweet how these two work things out. Brothers from another mother, it really gets to him. But don’t get ahead of yourself, Myles, because you should worry about the title you already have.

Fun fact: Kam Hendrix pinned the North American Champion in his debut tag match. Heights says fact: You’re living in the past. Kam says sure, he chose Tony D first, but Kam is thinking it’s time he collects. Lucky for Myles, Kam’s health meter is only at 82.6%. But don’t worry, it’ll be Showtime real soon. Not if Mason Rook gets to Kam first. Kam heads out and Heights says that boy has never been healthy. Heights says he has to lock in on Drake right now, but Myles should think on what he said about the tag titles. Heights heads out, will he bring “Dr. Thirst” down to earth tonight? We see in the background that Legacy and DVD are talking, or perhaps arguing, about their loss to Swipe Right, and then OTM spook The Sugar Man. He says hey, Bronco, Lucien, hope y’all doing well. He’s just trying to find a couple partners for his Six Man Tag against DarkState next week, and uh, maybe he just found ’em? Bronco fakes the handshake and says Shugars cannot be serious. He was rockin’ with DarkState for how long? Now he’s confused as to why nobody wanna help him? Get outta their face, bro. Shugars had the numbers game, now his goofy ass is alone. He made his bad, now lie in it!

Matter of fact… OTM spots BirthRight and Bronco asks the heck was that last week! They weren’t trying to win, just make sure OTM lost. Stacks says they did what they had to do, and Uriah Connors adds that Bronco’s got his time split between here and AAA. Price says don’t worry about what they’re doing, worry about yourself. Lexis King says maybe Price should be more worried about it. Do tell, did Bronco let Price know he was running down to AAA beforehand? Oh, he didn’t did he? Y’know why? Because what Bronco is doing in AAA is for his family! And to be honest, they’ve never been family, huh?

“You see, Shiloh, without this tooth, everybody can see you for what you really are, what I have known you to be all along, and that is nothing more than a creepy, Hillbilly weirdo who was never fit to stand across the ring from somebody like me, Tristan Angels. Shiloh, I will not let you lie to yourself anymore, which is why I shall do you this favor now.” Tristan steps outside, and he takes that false tooth, puts it on the steps, and STOMPS it apart! The fans boo as Tristan grinds the tooth into dust, but then Shiloh speaks from the tron! Shiloh says yeah, Tristan is right. That tooth did help him look “normal,” and it did help his smile.

But losing the tooth in the first place is what helped his mind. Perception isn’t always reality. Shiloh can fix his smile. But Tristan can’t fix the fact that now, the fog is coming! HAHAHAHAHAHA! The fog is coming! HAHAHAHAHA! Do you feel it, Tristan?! THE FOG IS COMING!! HAHAHAHAHAHA! Will Tristan have to batten down the hatches to keep whatever this “fog” Shiloh speaks of out? Or is there no stopping what’s coming next?

Robert Stone meets with Lizzy Rain, Izzi Dame, and Natalya’s crew.

While Lizzy and Izzi argue, Natalya speaks up. Excuse us, Mr. Stone, but no one else should be in this conversation except for her crew. Layla Diggs won the match and the title shot for the group. Layla wants to speak up but Nattie hushes her. Layla doesn’t get to talk, she got hurt. Nattie nominates Nikkita Lyons, the Evolve Women’s Champion, for tonight. Izzi says yeah, no, as she was saying, she didn’t get pinned in that Fatal 4 Way, and looking around, Izzi is the only one who has already won the Women’s North American Championship. Lizzy says she wasn’t pinned, either! The arguing starts up again but Stone has them all please quiet down.

Stone says they all make a fair point so here’s what we do: Zaria VS Izzi VS Lizzy VS Lyons, another Fatal 4 Way, and it’s in 20 minutes so go get ready! Now! Does that work? Thank you! The stakes just got raised on the champ, will the Agent of Change have something to say about this?

The King of Darkness tried to blind Tony D’Angelo, tried to overshadow his victory, and has vowed to take that title by any means necessary. But doing wild stuff is exactly what the Modern Day Cowboy is all about! Will he be able to wrangle Naraku and prove himself worthy of opportunities? Or will Darkness Fall on NXT after all?

The bell rings and the fans rally up. The two approach but Naraku dodges. Naraku smirks but he and Tate reset. Naraku then kicks low, waistlocks, and he SLAMS Tate down! And SLAPS him across the face! Naraku laughs, but Tate gets heated! Naraku says hold on, but then puts Tate on the ropes. The ref counts, Naraku backs off and bows to “apologize,” only to SLAP Tate again! Naraku CLUBS Tate, CHOPS him, then whips. Tate rolls off Naraku’s back, then arm-drags Naraku down! And arm-drag again! The fans rally up as Tate runs up, but Naraku HOTSHOTS him off ropes! And throat chops him, too!

Naraku whips, Tate CLOBBERS Naraku, then he scoops to SLAM! Tate DROPKICKS Naraku and he tumbles out! the fans fire up and Tate builds speed to DIVE into a forearm! Tate flops to the floor, the fans boo, but Naraku drags Tate up and into the ring. Naraku slides in, but Tate DOUBLE STOMPS him! Naraku bails back out, the fans fire up with Tate, and NXT goes picture in picture.

Tate steps back in while Naraku writhes on the floor. Tate then goes up, out, and hurries to bring Naraku up. Tate puts Naraku back in the ring, the ref checks, and he keeps Tate back. Naraku clutches his back while he crawls to a corner. Tate wants to get going again but the ref still checks with Naraku. Naraku manages to stand, but he still leans on the ropes. Naraku hobbles, Tate grows impatient, but then Naraku BOOTS Tate! And POSTS Him! Naraku was putting on an act! Naraku goes out to drag Tate back into the ring. Naraku GERMAN SUPLEXES, covers, TWO! Tate toughs it out but Naraku stays focused.

Naraku drags Tate up, turns him, NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Naraku rains down fists, then stalks Tate to ropes. Naraku CHOKES Tate on the ropes, but backs off as the ref counts. Tate sputters and coughs but Naraku stands him up, FISHERMAN BUSTER! Naraku stalks Tate as Tate hobbles along, but Tate kicks low. Naraku CLAWS Tate’s eyes, throws him down, then stomps him. Naraku stands Tate up to CHOP! Naraku CHOPS Tate in the corner, then pushes him around. Naraku CHOPS again, Tate sputters to another corner, but Tate kicks back. Naraku CLAWS Tate’s eyes, then CHOPS him again! And KNEES low!

Naraku KNEES Tate, Tate fires haymakers, but Naraku KNEES him yet again! Naraku hooks the leg for another FISHERMAN BUSTER! Tate flounders while NXT returns to single picture. The fans boo Naraku but he drags tate up. Naraku then hits another FISHERMAN BUSTER! Naraku does not let up as he THROWS Tate down, hooks up a leg, and puts on an STF! Tate endures as he fights his way forward, but Naraku drags him back! Naraku spins Tate, but Tate uses that to victory roll! TWO, and Tate dodges, only for Naraku to DOUBLE CHOP him down! The fans boo but Nararku drags Tate into a chinlock.

The fans rally up as Tate endures, and he fights up to his feet. Tate reaches out but Naraku wrangles him into a COBRA CLUTCH! The fans rally for Tate as he keeps fighting, and he snapmares free! Naraku CHOPS again! And CHOPS again! Naraku whips, but Tate SLINGBLADES! Naraku is familiar taking that move, and he and Tate rise up as the fans rally. Tate blocks a shot to ROCK Naraku! And ROCK him again! And again! Tate DECKS Naraku, DOUBLE AX HANDLES, then bobs ‘n’ weaves to hit a BIG back suplex! Tate goes to a corner, he takes aim, and runs up to SLINGBLADE BACKBREAKER! That’s new!

Tate drags Naraku up to suplex high and hard! Cover, TWO! Naraku survives but the fans rally behind Tate. Tate whips, Naraku reverses, but Tate goes up, up, and over! Tate keeps moving, he goes up another corner, and he CROSSBODIES! Cover, TWO!! Naraku survives but Tate hurries back to a corner. Tate climbs up, up, but Naraku SHOVES him down! Tate crashes into barriers then flounders around on the floor! Naraku grins, then goes out to drag Tate up and put him in. It is utter chaos, but will things only get more dangerous from here?

EK Prosper talk with Hank ‘n’ Tank.

They all have beef with Keanu Carver, and Hank says that next week, he’s gonna run straight at Keanu. Tank got his point across and EK already beat Keanu twice. EK says Keanu fights even after the bell, he is just a freight train! Tank says he did go after them at the tailgate. That guy doesn’t care when, how, and it won’t stop. Hank says it’ll stop with him, he’s getting payback in their match! They’re fired up, but then Shugars steps in. He says Hank’s got this in the bag, he believes in Hank. Hank shrugs Shugars off and he says yeah, okay, they had their problems in the past, but that’s whatever. Shugars has his Six Man Tag with DarkState coming up, and look…

Shugars doesn’t like DarkState, y’all don’t like DarkState, so- EK stops Shugars there, and Tank says Shugars can’t honestly think they believe him. Shugars keeps walking around here with a baseball bat! Shugars puts the bad behind his back and says hey, you do you! Hank says Shugars says he’s changed, but looking by his actions… Tank says Shugars does need help, he just ain’t getting it from them. Hank’s gotta focus on Keanu anyway. They head out, that’s strike two. Is Shugars gonna lose before the match even begins? Or can he find any two superstars who are willing to fight DarkState with him?

It was supposed to be Layla Diggs, but an injury during a house show changed the plans. And instead of choosing one worthy opponent, Mr. Stone said they can all take their shot. Will there be a new Women’s North American Champion one way or another? Or can the Agent of Change actually keep change from happening?

The bell rings and the four watch each other. Then Izzi rushes Lizzy but Lizzy dodges to CHOP! Zaria ROCKS Lizzy, Lyons ROCKS Zaria, but Izzi LARIATS Lyons! Zarai BOOTS Izzi, fireman’s carries, but Izzi slips free. Lizzy goes up and over, comes back, HEADBANGER! Zaria tumbles out, Izzi rolls Lizzy, TWO! Lyons runs up, Izzi ducks, the ROUNDHOUSE hits Lizzy! Izzi runs up, waistlocks, and O’Conner, but Lyons bucks that and ROCKS Izzi! Lyons then fires fast hands from all sides, whips Izzi, but Izzi reverses to BACK2BACKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Lyons is tougher than that but Izzi argues with the ref.

Izzi stands Lyons up, scoops, but Lyons slips free, shoves, and scoops to MICHINOKU DRIVER! Cover, but Lizzy AND Zaria break it! Lizzy ROCKS Zaria, Zaria wrenches and waistlocks, then shoves. Lyons and Zaria have dueling submissions, but both Lizzy and Izzi endure! Zaria SHOVES Lizzy down and BOOTS Lyons off of Izzi! Zaria then runs up but Lyons dodges! Zaria BOOTS back, then goes up, HANGING SLEEPER on Lyons! And she doesn’t have to let go because this is No Disqualifications! Izzi runs up, Zaria dumps Lyons and BOOTS Izzi! Saquon Shugars vents to the WrenQCC.

He can’t believe no one wants to team up! He doesn’t know what’s going on? Kendal Grey says that’s crazy, because Shugars hasn’t given anyone a reason to be his friend. Wren says sorry, sometimes Kendal just says whatever’s in her head, no matter how rude. Kendal says it’s true, though. Shugars says yeah, it is true, he can’t blame everyone for feeling like that. Wren says sure, but that doesn’t mean it has to be said. The past is the past. But if Shugars is looking to make friends, he can join the WrenQCC. Not that it’ll help with the DarkState match… But hey, they have the best way to celebrate! Oh, right, cake.

Lola Vice steps in and Shugars asks if she’s trying to- Lola tells him to shut it and he says okay. Lola tells Kendal that they’re not done yet. Lola is getting that title back. Kendal says she better win tonight then. Lola promises she will. Lola heads back out, will she be able to defy the odds and go back for THE NXT Women’s Championship? Or will someone else get their fair shot at the Ice Woman?

Tony D’Angelo storms into Robert Stone’s office.

Stone has to end a phone call and he asks Tony to calm down, but Tony says we’re past all that. Why is it that Naraku burns Tony, nearly blinds him, and yet Stone has refs and security pulling Tony off that bastard? Stone says it’s because he has a job to do. Tony says yeah, Stone does. But Tony wants Naraku. It doesn’t matter if it’s Stone’s way or Tony’s way, he’s getting Naraku. Stone says no, Tony doesn’t get it, Stone is protecting Tony. Protecting? From what? Well, what? We’re just gonna take it to the streets, is that gonna work? Tony says he’s okay with that. Stone says as GM, he has to do what’s best for NXT.

Next week, it’s a rematch from The Great American Bash! Tony D’Angelo VS Naraku for the NXT Championship. Tony says good. Good? Yes, but not good enough. That’s seven days from now and Tony’s not gonna wait! Tony heads out, Stone asks what Tony’s gonna do. Stone hurries after the champ, will Tony find Naraku before Naraku finds him?

Jackson Drake w/ The Vanity Project VS Tavion Heights!

Vanity Project already helped each other win when it came to the NXT Tag Team Championships, and of course they’re all back out here for #HeartbreakDrake. But will Tavion make sure they’re the ones feeling the heartbreak? Or will it be all about the Vanity Project tonight?

NXT returns as Tavion makes his entrance. The bell rings and Drake circles with Tavion. They tie up, Drake headlocks, hammerlocks, then drop toeholds. Drake floats all over Tavion, then pie faces him! The fans boo, Drake talks trash, but Tavion storms up! Darke backs off to the ropes, then he cheap shots with that kick! Drake stomps Tavion, taunts the fans, and he floats around on Tavion again. Tavion slips out from under Darke, then he flats all over Drake with no hands! Tavion waistlocks, SLAMS, and SLAMS again, and SLAMS again! The fans fire up, and Drake scrambles away as Tavion shows punch!

Tavion eggs Drake on, and even kneels down so Drake can get the top mount. Drake is wary, then storms up, but Tavion trips Drake! Tavion headlocks, grinds Drake down, but Drake rolls to a cover, ONE! Tavion holds on, but Drake rolls to facelock back. Tavion fights up, lifts Drake, but Drake flails. Tavion wrenches free, facelocks, but Drake RAMS Tavion into the corner. Drake fires hands, the ref counts, but Drake stops at 4. The fans boo Drake, but he whips Tavion to ropes. Tavion headlocks in return! Drake endures the grind, but Tavion slips around to SAIDO! Bridging cover, TWO! The fans rally as Tavion fireman’s carries, but Drake slips free!

Tavion blocks Drake’s kick, spins him, then clinches! But Drake BELL CLAPS! Drake runs and he BOOTS Tavion down! Cover, ONE!! Tavion is tougher than that but he still falls back to a corner. Drake runs up to ELBOW Tavion, then he runs, rolls, and comes back for another ELBOW! Drake runs, rolls, but returns into a BUCKLE BELLY2BELLY! Drake flounders out of the ring, Vanity Project hurries to check him, and the fans cheer Tavion as NXT goes to break.

NXT returns as both men are down! Replay shows Drake dodged Tavion to hit the LETHAL IN-JACKSON! The fans rally up as both men rise, and Tavion trips Drake! Drake UP KKICKS, but Tavion rebounds to jackknife roll and fireman’s carry! Drake slips free, shoves, but Tavion goes up and over! Tavion whips, Drake goes up and over, and Drake blocks a boto! Drake puts the leg in the ropes, but Tavion ROCKS Drake! Drake grabs the other leg, DRAPING DRAGON SCREW! Tavion writhes but Drake grabs the leg to then step through and INDIAN DEATHLOCK! Tavion pushes at Drake, rolls, and reels Drake into a cradle, TWO!!

Drake hurries and CHOP BLOCKS Tavion’s leg! Then he steps through, now he has the FIGURE FOUR! The fans rally as Tavion endures! Tavion keeps his shoulders up but Drake puts on the pressure! Tavion fights around, and he turns thigs over! Now Drake endures the pain! The fans rally and chant “TAP! TAP! TAP!” Drake endures, crawls, and he drags Tavion along to the ROPEBREAK! The ref counts, the hold is undone, and Tavion gets space. Drake leans against the ropes, but he and Tavion rise up with anger in their eyes. Tavion ROCKS Drake, ROCKS him again, then ROCKS him with fast hands from all sides!

Tavion whips, scoops, and GUT WRENCH PLEXES Drake! Drake staggers to his feet, Tavion fireman’s carries for an AIRPLANE SPIN and THROW! The fans fire up for Tavion, and he OVERHEAD BELLY2BELLY SUPLEXES Drake onto Swipe Right! Vanity Project is a mess but Tavion goes out to fetch Drake. Drake staggers, into another OVERHEAD BELLY2BELLY! Brad gets up, Tavion DECKS him! Tavion runs up on Drake, but Drake sunset flips and deep! DRAKE WINS!

Tavion is shocked, but once again, the numbers game wins out! Will the egos only grow exponentially? Or can someone find a way to humble these boys?

The Scottish Supernova and El Freestyle talk their chemistry and combo moves, but then Dar says hello, hello, hello, Saquon. Come to make an offer, mate? Still can’t find partners to fight your former friends? Shugars says no one wants in on next week, he doesn’t know what’s going on. Dar says he’s not surprised, given Shugars’ past. Oh, hold on, he ain’t tripping. If he has to go in there on his own, it’s whatever, but Stone’s talking about how Shugars needs partners. Unless… Romeo wants in! Dar says no, Romeo, c’mon! Dar doesn’t want in on that. Shugars says Romeo has that gusto, you gotta go with it. Dar says more like a gust o’ wind.

Romeo says this is an opportunity! DarkState are former NXT Tag Team Champions. Romeo & Dar take that chance on a win, they’re practically in line for the NXT Tag Team titles! Shugars says yeah, man! And when was the last time Supernova 11 backed down from a fight? Dar thinks on that, and says okay, they’re in. Romeo shakes hands with Shugars, as does Dar, and the match is now set! But can The Sugar Man and #Daromeo take down Dion, Cutler & Osiris? Or will they see that when DarkState strikes, ain’t nobody safe?

The #WrenQCC have another discussion backstage.

Wren knows Kendal beat Lola but Lola’s still really dangerous. Kendal beat Lani, but when Lani isn’t wasting time complaining, she’s really good. And Kendal beat Kali, but Kali’s changed a bit since Evolve. Well, doesn’t matter, Wren knows Kendal’s got this! Kendal agrees, and while defending it against Nattie was a dog fight, she’s been waiting to run it back with Kali. Kali steps in and says the wait is almost over then, champ. She’s about to go get that W, and she’ll come get her lick back. And it’ll be twice as sweet, cuz it’ll be for the NXT Women’s Championship. And a day hasn’t gone by that Kali hasn’t thought about their last match.

Kendal says that’s funny, cuz all she thinks about is how she can either drop Kali on her head or tap her out. If Kali wins tonight, they can find out what happens. Kali says bet, straight like that. Kali heads to gorilla, and spots Jaida Parker. Kali asks what she want, and Jaida says you tell her, “Difference Maker.” But keep that same energy, cuz Lani and Lola won’t give a damn about no nickname. Kali sighs and heads out, but then Nattie and crew get after Jaida! They mug Miss Parker up against road cases, then back off. Nattie warns Jaida one last time, but will this only turn up the heat?

As stated by Wren Sinclair, Kendal Grey has history with all three women, having won some and lost some. All three want their chance to settle the score once and for all, but who defies that 33-and-one-third chance of winning right here tonight?

NXT returns as Kali makes her entrance, Lola and Lani already waiting in the ring. The bell rings and the fans rally. Lani shoves Lola, Lola shoves back, but then they dodge Kali to DOUBLE LARIAT her out! Lani O’Conner Rolls Lola, TWO, and Lola has the REAR NAKED CHOKE! Lani flails, fights around, but Lola stays clamped on. Lani powers up and out, then catches Lola to a SLEEPER! Lola RAMS Lani into the corner but Lani holds on, and Kali RAMS them both! Kali then whips Lola corner to corner hard! Kali runs up and RAMS Lani! Then RAMS Lola! And repeat! Kali keeps going, but Lani goes up and over! Kali POSTS herself but Lola URAKENS Lani!

The fans fire up as Lola storms up on Lani in the corner. Lola KICKS, and KICKS, and KICKS! Lola fires up, the fans are with her, and Lola reminds us, “I’m a Latina~!” But Lani uses the ref as a shield so no hip attack! The fans boo but Lani SLAPS Lola! Lani puts Lola in the corner to stomp a mudhole! The fans boo but Lani talks a lot of trash. Lola runs up and TACKLES Lani! Lola rains down forearms on Lani but Lani turns it around! They scrap on the mat, then get up, and Kali DOUBLE LARIATS them down! The fans fire up, and Kali scoops Lani to SLAM! Then Kali scoops Lola to SLAM! Kali scoops Lani for another SLAM! Kali drags Lola up, puts her in the ring, then storms in after her. Kali sits Lola up, clamps on a neck wrench, then ELBOWS Lola in the head. Kali stands Lola up with a headlock, and punches her in the head! Lola goes to a corner, Kali stomps her, CLUBS her, and repeat. Lani runs up to CLOBBER Kali! Lani stomps away on Lola, but Kali spins Lani around. Lani shoves Kali, Kali shoves Lani, but Lola CLOBBERs them both! Lola rolls Lani up, TWO! Lola rolls Kali up, TWO! Lani runs up but into a mule kick! Then Lola mule kicks Kali! Lola SOBATS Lani, SOBATS Kali, but Lani CHOP BLOCKS Lola! Lani & Kali mug Lola!

Lani and Kali agree to get Lola out of the way, and they double whip her to DOUBLE ELBOW her down! Lani does Kali’s dance with her, going side to side, but then Lani kicks low! Lani TOSSES Kali out, then goes back to Lola. Lani drags Lola around, stomps her, then stomps again. Lani grabs the legs and works to turn Lola. Lola resists, fights around, but Lani still turns her! Only for Kali to CLOBBER Lani! Kali grabs Lola’s legs now, and she powers Lola over for the BOSTON CRAB! Lola endures, powers up to turn things back, and she kicks free! Kali falls, but Lani is back to clamp onto Lola with a full nelson!

Kali storms up, Lola headscissors her, and she hits a RANA ARM-DRAG COMBO as NXT returns to single picture! The fans fire up for Lola, she SPIN KICKS Lani, then SPIN KICKS Kali! SIPN KICK after SPIN KICK, then LIGHTNING KICKS for Lani! Lani falls into the corner, but Kali storms up. Lola LIGHTNING KICKS away on Kali! Kali falls into a corner, and Lola reminds us, “I’m a Latina~!” HIP ATTACK for Kali! HIP ATTACK for Lani! Then Lola keeps going, HIP ATTACK for Lani again! And again! But Kali returns to SPINEBUSTER! High stack, but Lani DOUBLE STOMPS it apart! The fans fire up as all three women are down!

Lani storms over, she brings both opponents up, and she kicks at them both while talking trash. The fans boo Lani’s bad attitude, but then Lola and Kali both stand up. Lani realizes she’s in danger, but she still hits DOUBLE SOLE FOOD! Lani kips up, smiles, and the fans are torn. Lani runs at Kali to ROCK her! Then she whips but Kali reverses! Lani avoids running into Lola, then dodges Kali! Kali LARIATS Lola, Lani GERMAN SUPLEXES Kali! Lani runs up on Lola, blocks boots, and she puts Lola in the ropes! Lani ROCKS Lola, then goes up, up, and POMMEL LEG DROP! Lola is down, Lani resets, and ONE OF A KIND onto KNEES!

Lani is furious! She was just moments away, but Lola snatches the win right out from under her! Lola gets one more fight with Kendal, will she get that title back? Or will she simply get lost in the Grey Area?

Tony and Naraku brawl in the parking lot!

Stone shouts for security, security rushes in, and they manage to pull the two apart! Stone says if this is how they want it, FINE! Next week, it’s not just a title match! It’s Tony VS Naraku IN A STREET FIGHT!! Naraku laughs while Tony is still raging! Can Tony still be the Master of Fate? Or is Tony playing right into Naraku’s hands?

My Thoughts:

A great NXT, especially the action. Opening with the tag titles is classic NXT, but of course Vanity Project retained through cheating. A little surprised we didn’t go right into Drake VS Tavion, even after getting the promo from Myles and Tavion. I do like Tavion suggesting a Two Man Power Trip with him and Myles, but pretty sure that’s not happening. And again, of course Vanity Project cheats the win there. I would think this means Drake gets his shot at the North American title for Heatwave, or even before, but who knows who wins out. If it ends up being at Heatwave, it feels more likely for a title change because something big needs to happen if they’re hoping to match AEW All In.

To which, I’m a little surprised we’re getting Tony VS Naraku 2 as a Street Fight on regular TV. Very good match from Naraku VS Tate, but of course Naraku won, and then very good brawl from Tony and Naraku after. Pretty sure that was Evolve’s Braxton Cole who took the mist. Anyway, of course Tony was gonna fight Naraku in the parking lot, that’s also classic NXT. If we’re doing a Street Fight for the rematch, Naraku’s gotta win that because he can blatantly cheat and it’s not even really cheating under No Disqualifications. Then Heatwave will act as a tiebreaker in some bigger, crazier match where we settle things once and for all. Heatwave might even be Tony’s last event on NXT before going to main roster.

Good stuff in the story with Saquon Shugars and how it took him all night to find partners for the Six Man Tag. It is good continuity that no one is immediately forgiving Saquon just because he turned Face, but it also works that Romeo is so eager to get a shot at the tag titles that he’s willing to help the outcast and drag Dar along into it. I would think then that somehow, someway, Shugars, Dar & Romeo win out against DarkState, but maybe not. We also got a good segue from Shugars with OTM to OTM with BirthRight which also counts as people bringing up Nima being in AAA. I feel like with AAA and NXT having their supershow on August 30th, there really needs to be the crossover where Nima has to choose between Perros Del Mal or OTM.

Good promo from Tristan Angels and Shiloh Hill, with Shiloh showing off some semblance of power inherited from The Undertaker, or he’s just that good of a hacker to control the lights and the fog machine. Again, I feel like their previous match should’ve just been the blowoff, but perhaps this is going to be both men exploring No Disqualification territory for the first time in their careers. Very good promo from Reina Volcan, though maybe a small note about how if a “natural disaster” doesn’t announce itself, then why did Reina announce her first match is next week? If it’s to fit her character, let that be a surprise that’s advertised before next week’s episode.

Very good promo from Shawn Spears to call out The Culling, and he’ll have a very good match with Niko Vance. I’m tempted to say Spears wins because of savvy rather than pure skill and strength, but who knows. And NXT really shows how great their Women’s Division still is because, whether Layla Diggs is really hurt or they did this for story, we got another awesome Fatal 4 Way for the Women’s North American title. Good stuff with Jaida Parker getting involved, and then that attack backstage clearly sets up a rematch of Nattie VS Jaida. Great win for Zaria, she is dominant and the fans love her now, she can probably carry this title through Heatwave.

Speaking of, I feel like Kendal’s about to do that, too. Very good promos from Kendal with Wren, Shugars, Lola, and then later with Kali, and an awesome main event Triple Threat. Now, as great as Lola is, I really was surprised she won that over Lani. Kendal VS Lola is going to be a great rematch, but I would think Kendal retains so that she and Lani can take this feud through the Fall. As I posed with Tony VS Naraku, perhaps Kendal VS Lola will be Lola’s sendoff match at Heatwave before she goes to main roster.
