GoreGames, Title Matches, Gail Kim, Nyla Rose and the Jack Tunney Rule getting thrown into the Missouri Swamp!

Published

on

Lunacy was a Juan Pablo Montoya crash, because everyone walked away with clarity and one hell of a blow dry. It’s 2am when I’m starting to write this, but if Strangle-Mania and last night’s Lunacy reinforced anything; it’s that the clown’s get confused by magnets and clocks. Juggalo Standard Time is about two tabs of acid, a bottle of Faygo  and half sandwich past the last puff after they remember there was something to do. So part of the fun about today is going to be how behind schedule it’s gonna be and then what we got to work with.

We know Mr Anderson couldn’t make the event, and Kerry Morton blew up at Caleb last night on Lunacy, so we might have an impromptu match or they just shaved a match. But if last night was a great show. Time to see if JWO survives GoreGames or if the Lucianos and their Triple Terror Towers just commit murder.

OH, the show only starts 3 minutes late which is basically on time!!

Steven Flowe w/Ring Rat & Shane Mercer vs Twisted Snow (James Storm & CoKane)

This was supposed to be Mr Anderson instead of Shane Mercer, but as we learned last night, the Asshole can’t make it. So the Mercenary took a Golden Guitar as payment to help Flowe.

Before the match starts, there’s a car alarm or something going off, but that’s not part of the show gimmick, it was just timed funny. CoKane starts with Flowe, CoKane pulls out a baggie instantly and they start throwing hands, CoKane gets the best of it, Uppercut to the throat, Rope Walk Bounce and Frakensteiner. CoKane goes for the Tombstone but Flowe rolls through into a Cradle, they block kicks, Flowe connects with a Knee Lift but a Rebound Boot gives CoKane a two count. Coke tags in Beer and we get a classic Arm Breaker tandem attack, Double Back Elbow, Knee Drop and Elbow into a 1 count. Flowe manages to get away from Storm, Shane tags in, and they start throwing hands. A sloppy Chop/Lariat from Storm does enough, tags in CoKane, tandem stuff, Double Hip Toss and a two. Cokeslam attempt but Mercer pushes Coke back into the Heel corner, CoKane Matrix’s the Lariat, goes for a Crossbody but gets caught easily, Sack of Shit, X-Plex and Assisted Brainbuster after the Flowe tag, which needs Storm to cut off the pinfall. Flowe wanted a TK-Flowe, but two counters from each and a Destroyer is hit for a two count! Flowe tries to stop CoKane, but CoKane hits the White Thunder Bomb to neutralize. Simultaneous tags, Mercer and Storm tee off, Storm gets the best of it, Manhattan Drop, Paintbrush, Storm goes for a corner attack, gets flipped but Enzuigiri, into a DDT and that’s only a 2 count. Storm wants Eye of Storm, but Mercer slips it, Headbutt, Fireman’s Carry but Storm slips it and CoKane and Storm Lariat Mercer to the outside. Assisted Toss Baseball Slide wipes out Mercer over the guardrail and CoKane flies from the ring to the second row to Tope con Hilo Mercer!

Ring Rat is trying to seduce Storm to not hurt Flowe, the crowd chants “Suck His Dick” and she assumes the position. Storm looks into, Rat looks ready, but then Flowe tries to hit Storm with a guitar, Storm moves, Flowe hits Rat on her knees. Last Call Superkick and Tombstone Piledriver, Twisted Snow wins.

Sloppy but entertaining…a lot like Ring Rat.

Number 1 Contender Triple Threat with Special Guest Enforcer Nyla Rose: J-Rod vs Alice Crowley vs Hollyhood Haley J

Haley and Alice gang up on J-Rod, but our big sexy Gladiator handles herself well early until they Low Bridge her and then Haley with a diving Dropkick, Saito Suplex from Al when J-Rod is thrown back in, but Haley stops the pinfall. J-Rod fires up, Double Lariat, and starts to beat the hell out of both, J-Rod stacks them both on her shoulders for a big Samoan Drop. J-Rod goes for Haley again, but Haley moves and the Referee eats the bump. Nyla gets in the ring and strips because she’s got Referee stripes on under her normal gear. Haley and Alice hit a High/Low on J-Rod, Double Knee Lift and J-Rod is getting ganged up on. But Haley and Alice finally explode, Haley hits the Thesz Press, Running Leg Drop, but Alice powders. Haley tries to go collect but J-Rod grabs Haley and starts running her from corner to corner.

Nyla actually gets in J-Rod’s face to break things up, J-Rod swings, Nyla hits the Neckbreaker on J-Rod, Alice slides in after Nyla’s move and hits the Lariat. Alice wins and is number one contender while Nyla and J-Rod are no longer on the same page.

Another match that is a mess, but fun to watch. But I’m biased since J-Rod and Alice are two of my favorites.

JCW Tag Team Championship: Choppa City (c) vs The Outbreak

As I normally say, Choppas are fun, but possibly the worst champions in the history of champions. They’ve yet to truly win a match without shenanigans.

Bruce starts and…I’m gonna guess and say Jacksyn starts for the Zombies. The match starts slow, John Woo Dropkick from Jacksyn, quick tag to Abel, some quick attacks and a Rude Awakening before Bruce tags out to Atiba. Atiba tries a Brain Chop…not smart against a Zombie. Abel hits the ropes and takes Atiba’s head off. Tag back in to Jacksyn, Manhattan Drop and Slingblade combo and Atiba is lost in the lights. More quick tags, Polish Hammer to the chest, and Abel is very methodical, or as methodical as a Zombie can be. He’s clawing at Atiba’s face, but Atiba breaks free, Bicycle Kick, Chop Sockey, quick tags, Chopping Combos but only near falls. Successive Chops into another tag for a Tandem Elbow, but Abel kicks out. Bruce now tries to work him over, Batterang connects from Bruce! Atiba and Bruce Fly, but Abel kicks out at two.

Abel is getting chopped in the Backbreaker, Bruce throws Abel into the ropes and a Tornillo Forearm from Abel finally gives the Zombie…life? Simultaneous tags, Jacksyn with lariats for Atiba, but a Hard Irish Whip levels Jacksyn for only a moment until he Zombie No Sells. Bruce tries to attack but Jacksyn sends him out and then follows with a Dive. As Above So Below!  But Bruce is holding the referee. HoKane comes in from the crowd to attack The Outbreak, Dani comes out already and HoKane runs off.

Choppa City hit the Sucka Busta in the confusion and retain. Once again, looking like the worst team in the match, but shenanigans continues to let them retain.

A pretty solid match, but Choppa City really has not looked like a great team. Fun gimmick, fun presentation, but they are easily the worst the tag team in the division.

Backstage interview with Joel Gertner and Josh Bishop, Gertner runs down Caleb as a coddled and protected babyshit champion, so Caleb interrupts and gets in some decent insults. I’m torn on if I’d rather see Josh Bishop or Kerry Morton kick Caleb’s head off…but as long as it’s one of those two, I’m happy.

Oh we go Chicken Huntin’ next and Violent J comes out to address the Gathering. He has some thoughts about the Lunacy Champion Caleb Konley. Just because he already had the title match doesn’t mean he has the night off. So J tells him to get his gear on and defend the title against a Mystery Opponent! But this breaks the Jack Tunney rule! Russo isn’t gonna be happy about this.

JCW Heavyweight Championship: Josh Bishop (c) w/Joel Gertner vs Facade vs Father Bronson

Bishop tries to rush Bronson, but Bronson powders, Facade tries a Roll-Up, things start a little frenetic. Facade with the Headstand to kick Bishop back, he grabs Bronson with  a Headscissors and doubles him over then jumps off Bronson to kick Bishop. Gertner grabs a chair to distract Facade as Bishop starts brawling with Bronson. Facade steals the chair, Sabu’s the chair into the ropes to hit Bishop’s fingers so he can’t climb back up, then Air Sabu! With the pose to the sky and a big cheer from the crowd.

All three are brawling on the weird raised platform the ring is on, so it’s an interesting look and makes for some loud crashing sounds. Bronson and Bishop brawl in the crowd, Facade climbs the truss and the Neon Ninja Flies into Bishop and Bronson! Facade takes too long playing to the crowd after throwing Bronson into the ring, so Bronson kicks the rope to crotch Facade on entry and then just lands a bunch of Rabbit Punches keeping Facade down. Bishop gets in and levels everyone. Forever Lariats minus the comedy, Short Arm Lariat levels Bronson, Facade eats two Back Drop Drivers and one for Bronson! Okay a second for Bronson as well. Bishop is living up to the Intense Icon moniker.

Bishop wants a third on Bronson but Bronson picks the Ankle, wants the Ankle Lock but Facade hits a Spin Kick to stop the submission. Facade looks to continue but Bronson hits a Stunner and all three are climbing back to their feet. Facade and Bishop Chop off, Bronson is trying to regain his breath. Facade goes from Chops to Kicks, then hits the ropes and a Big Boot from Bishop levels Facade. Bronson and Bishop trade, but Bronson gets the best of things after a Springboard Forearm. Bishop grabs Bronson in an Electric Chair, but Facade hits a Side Kick on Bronson! Hyper Crush Mars! Gertner gets on the apron, eats a Flying Kick, Bishop takes off Facade’s head and Exit 187 from Bishop, Bishop retains!

Mac Davis is interviewing, Gail Kim since she’s the special referee for the Women’s Championship match. It’s nice to see Gail. Curious if she’s gonna get involved or just play straight up referee.

JCW Women’s Championship with Special Guest Referee Gail Kim: Dani Mo (c) vs HoKane w/Barnabas

Barnabas with a damn good intro and HoKane is looking good in her ring gear. Let’s also remember, if HoKane wins, she gets the title of course but Barnabas keeps The Outbreak. If Dani wins, she controls The Outbreak. And Dani comes out with half her neon face painted Juggalo style and she’s adorable as well.

HoKane tries to sneak attack but Dani hits the Thesz Press before the bell, Gail allows it as both HoKane and Dani roll around in an all out fight, punches and hair pulling to start. HoKane misses the Corner Attack, but she fights out when Dani lights her up with a Double Slap and Round Kick. Dani is taking HoKane from corner to corner with Round Kicks. Dani gets the crowd to chant along with her Chops, hits a Running Knee but only a two. Dani lifts HoKane, but HoKane fights off, they throw hands, she tries to Whip Dani, but Dani reverses and does some rope dancing to kick HoKane. But HoKane is having her moments where she’s keeping things close until Dani Lariats HoKane to the outside, Dani tries to Wrecking Ball Dropkick Barnabas, but he grabs her feet and fakes taking the move to give HoKane an opening. Dani starts getting worked over and choked against the ropes.

Face Smash from HoKane into a Jumping Guillotine Leg Drop for two. Dani tries to get space and Whip HoKane away, but HoKane explodes out of the corner and takes Dani’s head off. HoKane is keeping the match more of a brawl, which plays well into the gimmick. She tries to catch Dani in the corner but takes too much time, Dani moves, dodges the next Leg Drop attempt and Dani with Lariats and Kicks into a Code Red for two! Dani wants the Moonmist Twist, but HoKane jams Shoulders in, High Facewash, goes to the second rope and HoKane…with a Senton! Only two. The Crowd heckles Barnabas but HoKane turns the Cokeslam into a Backbreaker but only for two. HoKane looks for a Moonmist Twist, but Dani fights out, Forearm, on the shoulders into the Spicolli Driver. Barnabas puts the foot on the ropes and Gail is arguing with Barnabas but he gets in the ring. Barnabas shoves Gail, Gail is gonna kill him, Barnabas grabs Gail and Gail turns it into Eat Da Feet!  HoKane rolls up Dani in the chaos and Gail counts, 1-2-but Dani kicks out! Moonmist Twist ! Dani retains the title and wins control of The Outbreak!

Solid and fun match, The Outbreak shamble out and celebrate with their sister. In the ring, Barnabas crawls into the ring, now that his entire Side Show is destroyed. He’s on his knees pleading with HoKane after he ate Gail’s Finish. HoKane blows him a kiss and then Knees him in the face.

Oh, Caleb is being interviewed and he complains about the Jack Tunney just like I did. Look at that, continuity. Mac asks if he called Vince, Caleb says “Do you know what time it is?”, then he mentions that Vince doesn’t answer his phone after 7pm, which was a fact brought up during one of the guest booker episodes of Lunacy. So more continuity. Look at that.

JCW Lunacy World Title: Caleb Konley (c) vs Mr Happy

Mr Happy is the mystery opponent, which actually makes some sense because Caleb screwed Happy over a few weeks ago in a match on Lunacy against Kerry.

Happy does the Happy Dance with the crowd since they’re behind him. Caleb starts with a Collar and Elbow, but Happy shoves him down easy, then tries to go after him again but Happy just shoves him off, no sells and Caleb tries a Rope Run Cross Body but Caleb gets the worst of it. Happy ducks two Lariat and hits the Fun Splash. Happy starts with big Double Slaps, and then tosses Caleb to the outside. Happy charges but Caleb grabs the Happy Bear to stop Happy. Caleb spikes the Happy Bear and Happy is devastated. The crowd chants “You Fucked Up”. Happy Charges him, but Caleb dodges and Happy keeps coming, tries a Cannonball but misses and lands on his head as Caleb kicks Happy and chokes him with the foot and the middle rope. It takes him a minute to recover but Happy sandbags, reverses the Whip, Caleb charges and Happy tries to Slam him but Caleb flips through into the Satellite DDT and only a two count!

Happy retreats to the corner, Ohtani style Facewash. Caleb wants Happy’s mask, commentary says it’s very disrespectful in Happy’s culture…the Happanese… it’s a good joke for 4 in the morning. Happy hits a Bossman Slam to have a Double Down moment. Uranage from Happy, Splash attempt but Caleb rolls away and hits the Springboard Moonsault for two. Caleb starts kicking and smacking Happy, big Back Chop from Caleb, Caleb wants a Tornado, but can’t Mushroom Stomp into a Rope Run, but Happy pulls off a Capo Kick to rock Caleb. Splash in the corner, Iconoclasm into a Samoan Drop and…then Jasmin Fucking St Claire interrupts the match. Jasmin goes from insulting Happy to…having contractions…and Caleb rolls him up. Jasmin laughs since it was a set up and Caleb retains via Jerry Springer bullshit.

It was kinda fun, I just hate Jasmin St Claire’s involvement in general. I didn’t like her Monster Factory and I don’t care for this angle.

GoreGames Special Guest Referee Mad Man Pondo: Team JWO (EC3, Ruffo, Yabo, 2 Tuff Tony & Willie Mack ) w/Shaggy 2 Dope & Violent J & Jeeves vs Team Luciano (Painful Pail, Dijak, Krule, Sally Boy & Vincenzo) w/Big Vito

The GCW losers are in the front row again, so I wonder if they’re gonna get involved since there’s no rules. ICP takes up place on commentary while the JWO make their way to the ring.

Krule starts off, this is a no rules 10 man Weapons on a Pole in the corners elimination match. So it’s not WarGames style cage match, it’s just a brawl. Willie Mack, starts for the JWO but Krule shoves him back and Tony tags in. Tony gets leveled by Krule, so he tags back out to Willie and Willie starts talk smack, Chocolate Juggalo tries to charge him, but Krule doesn’t budge. They try to double team Krule, but Krule splits the difference and then Double Shoulder Block. Krule tries to stack them in the corner, but they dodge and Krule no sells them a little but it’s taking a long time for the spot, Willie loses his footing a little and the Double Superplex, actually eliminates Krule. Krule is out in the most anti-climactic cornball way. The GCW guys get involved, they attack security, Yabo and Jeeves jump into the audience, but Vipress and Nick Gage hit the ring. Willie slaps Vipress, Gage and Tony start fighting. Vito is trying to grab a weapon, there’s a Double Low Blow on Tony and Willie…this is a fucking mess.

ICP is making fun of the fact the Barbed Wire Crutch won’t move, but Ruffo grabs it and there’s just a lot of weird standing around and goofy spot stuff but Dijak hits the Discus Boot, and Ruffo is out. Jeeves tries but then gets Knocked Out. EC3 is…the last one? I don’t even know. EC3 is rocking Sally and Vincenzo, Back Body Drop on Sal, Vincenzo grabs him, Sal goes for a Shotgun Kick but he hits Vincenzo. EC3 hits the 1 Percenter on Sal, Sal is out. Vincenzo hits EC3 with a toolbox. Vincenzo empties the thumb tacks from the box, wants a DDT, but EC3 counters it and Scoops Vincenzo up and into the tacks, then a 1 Percenter for Vinny and he’s gone.

Dijak again hits the Discus Boot, but EC3 kicks at two. Dijak calls for Feast Your Eyes, but Paul says he wants to end it and demands the tag. Dijak tags out, flips off the crowd and Paul holds EC3. Dijak winds up the Discus, but Paul Boots Dijak! Shortarm Lariat lays out Dijak and Paul grabs Dijak, Chokeslam! Paul betrayed the Lucianos, the crowd chants for one more, and Paul obliges. Paul grabs EC3 and pulls him ontop of himself and Dijak for a double pinfall. JWO wins.

Paul rips off his shirt and there’s a JWO shirt underneath. Vito hits Paul with a Kendo Stick…but Paul no sells. Paul snaps the stick, Vito tries to run but ICP leave commentary, to block off Vito, Vito is going to try and fight his way out. J and Shaggy start beating the shit out of Vito, feeds him back to EC3 and Paul, Vito realizes his situation, turns around and takes a ride from Painful Paul! JWO on top!

Overall Score: 8/10

This…was insane, pun not fully intended. We got a few decent matches, but a whole hell of a lot of moments. Gail Kim hitting the Eat Defeat on Barnabas, Steven Flowe cracking the guitar over Ring Rat’s head while she looked like she was about to give some, Facade flying off the lightning truss, Dani Mo standing tall with The Outbreak and the JWO standing tall at the end of the show. The GoreGames match was a complete pile of shit, the GCW interference was dumb and I guess supposed to harken back to the 2 Day War JCW vs GCW last year, but it felt forced and very unnecessary. It was Jersey Shore levels of car crash where I couldn’t look away, but as a wrestling match, it was garbage. As pure camp and spectacle though, that was an experience.

I find myself unable to really complain. It was like an Underground WrestleMania where even if the matches didn’t wow you, they found ways to make moments that paid off storylines or evoked some kind of emotion. It was good fun, not clean…not clean at all. But still good fun. As I often say, don’t turn on JCW expecting workrate or wrasslin style of wrestling. Tune in to be entertained with wrestling as the vehicle to resolve the conflict.
