Andrew’s MLW Blood & Thunder Results & Match Ratings: 8.8.2026

It gets a little difficult to remember what happens each week since no show ends cleanly and there’s always a DQ or shmoz or silly thing. I do vaguely remember that Josef Samael official revealed himself as returning to the head of Contra Unit.

But today’s Fusion is actually part of an MLW PLE Blood & Thunder. As many of know, this event happened in April, so MLW continues to use 4 month old footage. Let’s at least hope the action is good to make up for the fact that the results aren’t fresh.

Results:

Lady Frost vs Shotzi Blackheart (c) vs Scarlett Bordeaux

Forst and Shotzi start jawing and shoving Scarlett to the side ignoring her. Scarlett gets annoyed and interjects herself and we get a few cradles from all three before Scarlett tries to get cute but tripping Frost and Shotzi at the same time and going for a Double Cradle, but they kick out. Frost and Shotzi dump Scarlett out, a little early posturing but a Kick into a Missile Dropkick from Shotzi into a Tiger Feint and Crossbody for only a two count. Frost tries to Sunset to counter Shotzi’s offense, but Shotzi stops it, but eats Up Kicks. Then Frost starts working Shotzi over in the corner, wants a Rope Run move, but Scarlet trips her up and pulls her out. Scarlett lays in a strike, nice Suplex and then a Stink Face

Frost slides back in, blind sides Scarlett and stacks her in the corner, hitting a Cartwheel Back Elbow on both women as we go to commercial. Coming back Frost is doing the Kevin Nash Foot Choke on Scarlett, knocks Shotzi off the apron, and then keeps on top of Scarlett. Cartwheel into a Shoulder Block and a Fisherman Suplex for a little arrogant showboating into an arrogant cover. They start trading Chops, Frost gets the best of it and goes for an Octopus Hold, but Shotzi flies in to just Dropkick both. She starts throwing Kicks and Forearms, Saito Suplex from Shotzi, but Scarlet breaks up the pinfall. Scarlett then with a Box hot into a Wristclutch Overhead Suplex Hold, but Frost breaks it up.

All three start trading shots, Frost hits a Hook Kick to cause Scarlett to powder, Shotzi with a Waterwheel Kick into a Dive into both women. Shotzi looks for her Senton, but Frost shoves off Shotzi and wants Frostbite, Frost hits Frostbite on Scarlett and wins.

Lack of psychology, Scarlett and Frost had to reposition to eat the Dive, it was fairly short, felt rushed and the strikes weren’t impactful enough to validate the level of selling they did.

Joe Coffey w/GBOT vs Alan Angels

I didn’t expect an enhancement match on a PLE.

On the bell Joe flies at Angels with a Shoulder Tackle, repetitive Irish Whips into the corner and a Backbreaker for a two count. Coffey is brutalizing early but Angels tries to fight up, Joe grabs the arm and twists. Angels tries a Hip Toss but Joe goes over with it and turns it into a grounded Armbar. Angels manages to get out of the Overhook with some World of Sport tactics, gets a few strikes to connect and redirects the rope run to send Joe to the outside with a Frankensteiner followed by a Golden Triangle Moonsault.

Mark and Wolfgang distract Angels so he eats a Headbutt, into an Uppercut, but Angels puts together a few Cradle attempts until Joe turns it into a Giant Swing, Rocket Launcher into the top buckle, Double Jump Crossbody from Joe, John Woo Dropkick into a Discus Lariat and Joe wins.

Entirely too competitive if you’re trying to position Joe Coffey as a dangerous singles expert of the team.

Post-Match Joe admits they took out Trevor Lee and Teddy Long. So Labron Kozone walks comes out with a chair looking to get event, but the referees keep them apart.

MLW World Championship: Killer Kross (c) w/Scarlett Bordeaux vs Satoshi Kojima

Kojima and Kross look for the early tie up, Kojima grabs a Headlock but Kross turns it into an Arm Wringer, Kojima gets to the ropes and Kross bows at him during the break. The moment of respect, into the Rope Run Shoulder Tackle spot that Kross wins, but Kojima then catches Kross with a Hip Toss  and they start striking. Kojima gets rocked and Kross hops into the Ground and Pound, before landing an Uppercut to the shoulder blades and a near fall. Kross goes for some kind of Hammerlock Gut Punch, and another two count. Kojima sells to the corner, and Kross hits the 10 Count Punches. An Irish Whip that Kross tries to follow with a Splash, but Kojima dodges and goes into the Machine Gun Chops, Corner to Corner Forearm into the Elbow Drop, but only two. Two Forearms, Rolling Forearm and a DDT from Kojima but only a two count again.

After a kick, Kojima wants the Cozy Cutter, but Kross fires to cut it off, multitude of his own strikes into a T-Bone Suplex and a two count. Doomsday Saito attempt, but Kojima fights it off and hits a quick Cozy Cutter. Cozy Lar-nope and Kross hits an RKO! Two count of course, but now Kross removes his Elbow Pad like Kojima does and hits a Western Lariat! Only a two count though. Kross wants another but Kojima catches him with a short Lariat, slow to the cover, and Kross kicks out at two. Kojima wants something but gets caught into a Doomsday Saito but only two, when Kojima sits up, Kross locks in the Kross Jacket Choke and Kojima is in the center of the ring. The referee does the arm raise thing, but Kojima fights after the second drop…but Kojima can’t get to the ropes and taps out.

Overall Score: 5/10

The fact that this was a specialty event, and the matches were short, medicore at best and really just didn’t have any gravitas what so ever. They’ve really been trying to make Alan Angels look like a credible jobber, and it didn’t work when he was in AEW, it didn’t work when he was in TNA…he’s just Sean Spears with an extra flip and 5 less inches. Stop trying to make him seem like a diamond in the rough, he’s a dweeb. As for the main event, it was what I expected from Kojima at this point. Played the hits, wasn’t super offensive, but it was nothing to write home about…like 80% of Kojima matches the last 10 years. This was boring. I don’t know if the heat gave me a headache or trying to process the drivel I was watching did…but this was lame.

Not outright bad, but lame as hell given it was a named event with a main title match.
