The bell rings and the fans rally as the two step up. They feel things out, Claudio shoots in for a fireman’s carry takeover. Claudio stomps Ace again and again, but stops to stalk Ace to the ropes. Claudio whips, HIP TOSS, but Ace handsprings through! Ace handsprings again to arm-drag! The fans cheer, but Claudio stops the arm-drag to scoop and SLAM! The fans cheer while Ace writhes. Claudio stalks Ace, brings him up, and whips him corner to corner. Claudio runs up, Ace dodges, and uppercut hits buckles! Ace fireman’s carries, but Claudio slips free to KNEE low! Claudio scoops, Ace slips free and rolls.

Claudio blocks the drop toehold, but Ace ENZIGIRIS him down! Ace gets moving, and he SHOTGUNS Claudio down! Ace kips up, the fans fire up, and Ace fireman’s carries! Ace squats, and hits the DEATH VALLEY DRIVER! The fans cheer the Quad King, and he aims for the PLANCHA! But Claudio catches him! The fans fire up as Claudio hits SNAKE EYES on the railing! The fans are torn as Ace coughs and sputters. The ring count starts but Claudio brings Ace up at 5 of 10 to whip hard into railing! Claudio refreshes the ring count while Ace writhes. Claudio gets space, runs up, but Ace doges! Claudio hits apron, Ace comes back, but Claudio pops him up! Ace handstands, avoids a sweep, and PENALTY KICKS! Ace rises up, fires up, but he has to shake out that bad arm. Ace CLUBS Claudio, stalks him, then KICKS a leg! Ace KICKS again, then puts Claudio in the ring. Ace waistlocks but Claudio reaches out. Claudio grabs the ropes, the ref counts, and Claudio ELBOWS Ace! Claudio then gut wrenches to THROW Ace back out! Ace writhes on the floor again while Claudio catches his breath. Claudio goes back to Ace, drags him up, and whips him to ropes. Claudio LARIATS Ace down, covers, TWO! Ace is tougher than that, but Claudio ELBOW DROPS! Cover, TWO! Claudio keeps Ace down with a mounted armlock. Claudio pulls on the arm for a top wristlock, and then twists! Ace endures, and Collision returns to single picture. Alex Windsor & Jamie Hayter are going to go All In against Divine Dominion for those AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships, but they’re ready for a fight on a Saturday night! Will these Birds be flying high on their way back home to London? Or will the Hellbent Vixen & Top Gamer bring them down to earth?

Cassidy throws Sydal, Sydal lands out, so Cassidy headlocks. Sydal wrenches out to headlock back, but Cassidy powers up and out, to then full nelson and snapmare. Cassidy poses with Sydal, then ghost pins! TWO, but Sydal ghost pins in return! TWO, and Sydal gives his own thumbs up. The fans applaud as the two stand, and Cassidy seems nonplussed. Cassidy headlocks, Sydal powers up and out, but Cassidy arm-drags! Things keep moving and Sydal arm-drags in return!

The fans cheer as Cassidy avoids an arm-drag, but so does Sydal! Cassidy avoids another arm-drag, but Sydal gets a leg trip Cassidy! The fans cheer as Sydal sets up, but Cassidy rolls him up, TWO! So this Wednesday in Las Vegas, Finlay will just finish the job and put White on the shelf for good! Then he’ll be into round two, where he could face anybody! Kyle O’Reilly, Roddy Strong, or their boy, Claudio Castagnoli, or even Jon Moxley. But Finlay doesn’t give a damn who it is! Because even though The Dogs and the Death Riders are the most deadly combination since Smith & Wessen, we all know that as soon as the bell rings, all bets are off, all friendships are dead, and anything goes! Or will the CMLL Women’s World Champion and her new amiga prove they’re both the best?

The teams sort out and Shida steps up. Hyan says she’s got this, so she starts against the former champion. But then Shida doesn’t want Hyan, so she tags out to Perse. They step up, Hyan dodges Perse, then RAMS her! Hyan runs up, slingshot and arm-drag! Things keep moving, and Hyan CLOBBERS Perse! Hyan brings Perse up, whips, but Perse reverses. Hyan reverses back to then clinch and NORTHERN LIGHTS! Bridging cover, TWO! Perse is tougher than that, but Hyan tags Maya. May runs up, dodges, and she ROCKS and CHOPS Perse on repeat! Maya whips, perse reverses, and Shida gets a cheap shot in!

The fans boo as the ref misses it, and then has to stop Hyan from getting in! That lets Perse & Shida mug Maya! But Maya fires back in return! The ref sees what’s going on now as Maya ROLLING ELBOWS Perse! Shida catches Maya, but Maya gets Perse, RANA HEADLOCK TAKEOVER COMBO! Then a WHEEL KICK on Perse! Cover, TWO! Backstage interview with Kevin Knight.

Lexy Nair is with the TNT Champion and brings up Darby Allin’s challenge for the title, Falls Count Anywhere. Knight says he knows hat Darby wants, but here’s what The Jet wants. He became the greatest TNT Champion of all time when he stopped listening to what all the little people think. And Darby just so happened to be the first casualty. Maybe, just maybe, Knight will grant Darby this wish and make him a casualty again. But not just yet, cuz Darby’s talking about how he beat Knight at Grand Slam: Mexico. But let’s keep it 100, their team wouldn’t have won if not for Chris Jericho, the first AEW World Champion, and a TV Champion on this very network back in the day.

But one thing Jericho’s never been is TNT Champion. So how about live this Wednesday, Dynamite in Vegas, Jericho and Knight make a little gamble. Jericho gives Knight the opportunity to wipe that blemish off his record, and Knight gives Jericho his shot at this. Then maybe, maybe, we can talk about what Darby wants. Until then, The Jet has business to handle. Knight heads out, is he going to regret giving Jericho this opportunity? Or will the gamble pay off his favor in Las Vegas?

Just as Moxley put it, he has respect for who Jungle Jack is and what he’s done in his young career, but he does NOT respect anything about Juice Robinson or The Gunns. Claudio already handled Ace, will Moxley, Pac, Yuta & Garcia handle the rest? Or will it be Guns Up for Tarzan Life?

The teams sort out and Moxley starts against Austin Gunn. The fans duel, “GUNS UP!” “MOXLEY!” The two tie up, Moxley wrenches and wristlocks, then hammerlocks. Austin reaches back, headlocks, but Moxley rolls to wrench. Austin fights off a facelock so Moxley hits a single leg takeover. Austin slips away, but Moxley flips him off. Austin says forget him, then! Austin tags in Jack! The fans cheer and wave their hands while Jack circles with Moxley. But then Moxley tags out to Yuta! The fans boo Yuta, Jack stares Moxley down, but Yuta uses that distraction to roll Jack up! TWO, and Yuta rebounds.

Jack drops, hurdles, then MONKEY FLIPS Yuta! Then DROPKICKS him! Jack handsprings up while Yuta flounders and the fans cheer. Jack wrenches Yuta, tags Colten Gunn, and he CLUBS Yuta’s arm! Colten wrenches Yuta’s arm, tags Austin, and Austin goes up to AX HANDLE the arm! Austin wrenches to tag Juice, and Juice goes up, up, and AX HANDLES the arm! The fans cheer for “JUICE! JUICE! JUICE!” But Yuta BIETS Juice’s forehead! the fans boo but Yuta tags Garcia. Juice arm-drags Garcia! Pac runs up, he gets a HIP TOSS! Juice JABS Garcia, JABS Pac, and repeat! The fans fire up but then Pac & Garcia kick low!

Pac & Garcia double whip, but Juice DOUBLE CROSSBODIES! Yuta runs up, Juice TOSSES him out! Juice LARIATS Pac up and out! The fans fire up but Moxley is in! And he pokes Juice in the eyes! Jac DROPKICKS Moxley! The fans fire up as Jack looks for targets. The Death Riders regroup, but Bang Bang Gang says “SUCK IT!” The fans cheer while Collision goes picture in picture.

Moxley paces while the ref has the Bang Bang Gang calm down. They back off, but the fans still cheer along with “GUNNS UP!” Juice waits as Pac tags in, and they step up. They feel out a knuckle lock, but then Pac DROPKICKS a leg out! Juice falls, Pac stomps away, then he tags in Yuta! They stomp away on Juice, the ref reprimands, but he also has to keep The Bang Bang Gang back. Yuta then drags Juice around, for a spinning toehold! And another spinning toehold! Yuta CHOPS Juice down, then tags Moxley. Moxley and Yuta split the wishbone on Juice! Moxley eggs Juice on, stalks him to a corner, then whips corner to corner hard!

Moxley runs in, LARIATS, then he climbs up to rain down fists! Moxley goes all the way to TEN, then thrashes Juice around by his hair! Moxley brings Juice over to the Death Riders, but Collision goes to break.

Collision returns as Yuta snapmares Juice, then runs to ELBOW DROP! Cover, TWO! Tag to Garcia and he stomps Juice. The fans boo and tell Yuta off while he and Garcia mug Juice. The ref has to keep Bang Bang Gang back, and Garcia soaks up the heat. Garcia facelocks Juice and grinds him down. Juice endures, the fans rally up, and Juice fights up. But then The Death Riders all BLAST Jack & The Gunns! Then they mug Juice! Jack wants in but the ref keeps hm out. The fans boo as The Death Riders get away with all that, but then the ref wants them to sort out. Garcia slaps Juice around, eggs him on, and brings him up.

Garcia CHOPS, runs, but into a LEG LARIAT! The fans fire up, but Juice stumbles and falls. Juice and Garcia crawl, hot tags to Jac and Moxley! The fans fire up for our Dynamite preview! Jack ROCKS and CHOPS Moxley, then CHOPS, CHOPS, CHOPS! Jack whips, Moxley reverses, but Jack ducks ‘n’ dodges to FLYIGN FOREARM! The fans fire up, and Jack fires up with them! Jack runs corner to corner, but into a BOOT! Moxley storms up on Jack, reels him in, GOTCH- NO, Jack slips free, but Moxley blocks a kick! Moxley waistlocks, Jack switches, repeat! Moxley tags Yuta, and the fans boo as he drags Jack back. But Jack ENZIGIRIS Yuta away, hot tag to Austin! The fans fire up as Austin dodges Yuta, dodges again, and trips him up! BASEMENT THROWBACK! Garcia is in, Austin ducks ‘n’ dodges him to then counter hip toss with hip toss, QUICK DRAW! Tag to Colten but here comes Pac! Colten BODY BLOWS, then feints a punch so Austin can DDT! The Bastard bails, Moxley returns, but Colten hits the CROSSOVER LARIAT! Then a SPLASH on Pac in the corner! Colten keeps moving, CROSSOVER NECKBREAKER! The fans fire up as Colten gets Yuta for a FAMOUSER! Cover, Death Riders all break it!

The fans boo but then The Death Riders all mug Colten! Garcia bumps Colten off buckles, and the Cycle of Violence starts up! ELBOW, LARIAT, ELBOW, LARIAT, and repeat! The fans are torn but the ref reprimands as this just keeps going! But then Juice gets in and JABS! JABS! JABS! JABS! JAB after JAB for Garcia, then the LEFT HAND O’ GOD! But Pac BOOTS Juice! Austin FLATLINERS Pac! Yuta wrenches Austin to the RIGHT ANGLE SLAM! Colten gets Yuta with a SIDE EFFECT! CUTTER from Moxley! SUPERKICK from Jack! Moxley tumbles out but Jack goes up! ARIHARA MOONSAULT onto Moxley, Pac, and Garcia!!

The fans are thunderous, and Yuta aims at Colten! Yuta runs up, but Colten DROPKICKS first! The fans fire up as Austin joins in! Yuta turns around, but Marina is in the way! He gets revenge for the screw job, and he tells Moxley that it’ll just be them in Vegas! Moxley leaves it at that, but will he “defend” his title this Wednesday? Or will Jack make sure there’s a guaranteed NEW Continental Champion in the Cup?

But if you’re talking opportunities, you’re looking at THE opportunist of AEW, The Prodigy, Nick Wayne. On August 21st, Death Before Dishonor, he’ll beat Bandido to become the youngest ROH World Champion of all time. And while he’s throwing it out there, his aspiration is to become the youngest world champion in AEW history! What better way than to start this Wednesday as he steps up to MJF and Bailey to win the #2 spot in the Casino Gauntlet. So he’ll give Bailey a front row seat to see how to properly take advantage of opportunity. Bailey says yeah, okay. Good luck. Nick says yeah, good luck to Bailey. He’s gonna need it.

Lexy Nair is with MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and all of STP she says STP requested this time to speak with The Hurt Syndicate. Shane, the floor is yours. Shane tells MVP that he understands time is money, so he will be brief. STP would like to acquire the services of the Hurt Syndicate as they assist them in their new business ventures. The Syndicate likes to hurt people, STP likes getting paid, so the way Shane sees it, will not only will they all get rich, but they’ll all make history working together. And as a show of good faith, here is a down payment. Shane hands the envelope over, MVP hands that to Lashley, and Lashley checks it.

Carlie Bravo says there’s a lot more where that came from, too, Bobby! Lashley puts the money in his coat pocket and nods. MVP says they have the Syndicate’s attention. They’ll be in touch. Hurt Syndicate heads out, and Carlie says they did count it, right? Will STP and Syndicate be ready to not just hurt people, but rumble, bad men, rumble?

So enjoy the victory tonight, because all it takes is one loss, all it takes is one upset win, and Moxley is no longer champion. So this Wednesday, Jack shows Moxley what this “sweet kid” is all about. Juice then tells what everyone just saw was that Yuta would’ve taken a 3:10 to Yuma if not for The Dogs and their GADDAM interference!

But guess what, Finlay? Soon, it’ll be you looking at Jay White across the ring, and you can’t have any GADDAMN interference in the Continental Cup!! So what you gonna do without Clark, huh?! Moxley, what you gonna do without the Death Riders helping you against Jack!? NO INTERFERENCE! And if you’re not down with that, they’ve got two words for ya! GUNS UP! The Bang Bang Gang is still taking aim at those dirty Dogs, but will White make sure to put down The Rebel soon enough?

AEW Continental Challenge Cup First Round: Eddie Kingston VS Jake Doyle!

The Mad King knows about being Continental Champion as the inaugural Continental Triple Crown Champion, and he’s ready to get that belt back! But he’s got quite the first round opponent. Will #DangerousDoyle do this one for the Don Callis Family? Or will Eddie prove it ain’t what you got, it’s what you do with it that matters?

The bell rings and the fans cheer Eddie on as he circles with Doyle. They feel things out, and the fans chant, “F HIM UP, EDDIE, F HIM UP!” They tie up, but Doyle shoves Eddie. Eddie storms up, headlocks, and hits the takeover. Doyle rolls, Eddie slips free, but Doyle RUNS him over! The fans boo but Doyle eggs Eddie on. Eddie runs up, ducks ‘n’ dodges, then RAMS Doyle! Doyle rebounds to RUN Eddie over! The fans boo but Doyle soaks up the heat. Eddie storms up on Doyle, CHOPS him, then CHOPS again! Doyle snarls, but Eddie CHOPS again! Eddie runs, but into a BODY CHECK! The fans boo but Doyle soaks up the heat again.

Doyle waits on Eddie, Eddie rises up, and Doyle runs in! Eddie dodges the splash, then CHOPS! CHOPS! But Doyle dodges the first Machinegun Chop to then LARIAT Doyle down! Doyle puts Eddie back in the corner for a SPLASH! Eddie falls, the fans boo, but Doyle just revels in it. Doyle CHOKES Eddie on ropes, the ref counts, and Doyle backs off. The fans rally for Eddie, Doyle argues with the ref, and Doyle drags Eddie up. Doyle TOSSES Eddie out, goes out the side, then runs in and LARIATS against the railing! But Eddie still fires hands in return! Eddie HEADBUTTS again and again, then rolls into the ring.

Doyle staggers in after Eddie, but Eddie CHOPS! Doyle scoops and SLAMS! Cover, TWO! Eddie toughs it out but Doyle snarls. The fans rally up again as Eddie rises. Doyle mocks the fans, stalks Eddie, then puts him on the ropes to smother him! The ref counts, Doyle stops at 4, and Eddie sputters as he sits up. Doyle puts Eddie in a corner, RAMS into him again, and again, and again! Doyle stands Eddie up to short arm LARIAT! Cover, TWO! Eddie is still tougher than that but Doyle is more amused than anything. Doyle CLUBS Eddie, but Eddie fires hands! The fans cheer as Eddie SLAPS again and again, then BODY BLOWS! And CHOPS!

The fans “WOO~” while Doyle backs away to a corner. Eddie storms up, and he MACHINEGUN CHOPS! The fans fire up for Eddie, and he just reloads to CHOP again! Eddie then clinches, but Doyle fights the lift! Doyle throws elbows, then scoops! RUNNING POWERSLAM! Cover, TWO!! Eddie survives again and Doyle grows frustrated, but Collision goes picture in picture.

Doyle drags Eddie up, brings him around, and he drags Eddie up, only for Eddie to ENZIGIRI! But Doyle BODY CHECK! Eddie rebounds to LARIAT! Both men are down, and surely the fans fire up! Eddie stirs, as does Doyle, and they both slowly sit up. Doyle grabs at Eddie, brings him up, and fires a forearm. Eddie smirks and SLAPS back! Doyle SLAPS, Eddie SLAPS, it’s a SLAP fight! Doyle eggs Eddie on, so Eddie SLAP, SLAP, SLAPS! Eddie grins as Doyle sputters, and Eddie fires more SLAPS! Then he HEADBUTTS again and again and again! Eddie stops and Doyle flops over. Eddie manages to stand, and he waits on Doyle.

Doyle stands, into a CHOP! Doyle CHOPS, but Eddie ROCKS him with a forearm! Doyle ROCKS Eddie! Eddie clutches his ear, but he snarls as he shakes it off. Eddie CHOPS again! Doyle shakes his head and fires a forearm! And another forearm! Eddie CHOPS again! Doyle sputters, but he comes back to ROCK Eddie! And ROCK, ROCK, ROCK! Eddie wobbles, but Doyle eggs him on. Eddie fires a flurry, and an ENZIGIRI! Cover, TWO! Collision returns to single picture as both men are down! The fans rally as Eddie rises, but so does Doyle. Both men shake out the stars, Dole runs up, but into a BOOT!

Eddie goes up, up, and FLYING SHOULDERS! The fans fire up again as Eddie stands, and the straps come down! Clinch and EXPLODER! Cover, TWO! Doyle is tougher than that but Eddie just grits his teeth. The fans rally up again and Eddie rises. Eddie stalks Doyle, brings him up, but Doyle CLAWS the eyes! And ROCKS Eddie! Doyle runs to BLINDSIDE LARIAT! The fans boo but Doyle hauls Eddie back up! Doyle vows to end this, but Eddie wrenches free to SAIDO!! Cover, TWO!! Doyle survives and Eddie grows frustrated. The fans rally again, and Eddie rise. Doyle crawls, rises, and Eddie winds up! URA- NO, Doyle ducks to kick low!

Doyle reels Eddie in, lifts him up, and BEAST BOMB! Cover, TWO!! Eddie survives and the fans fire up again! Doyle is furious, and he looms over Eddie. Doyle guzels as he drags Eddie up, then winds up to ROCK him with a forearm! Eddie staggers around, Doyle ROCKS him again! Eddie staggers around, but he’s getting that energy back! Doyle ROCKS, Eddie URAKENS! And then URAKEN!! Eddie isn’t done, he clamps on the STRETCH PLUM!! Doyle endures, but he QUITS! EDDIE WINS!

It was a hard fought first round match, but that’s what you’d expect from Eddie Kingston! He’s moving on, but will he go all the way to Wembley? Will the Mad King reign once again?

My Thoughts:

A great episode for Collision, though a few of these matches felt like filler at first. Birds beating up on Viva & Vert was definitely one, but then Divine Dominion attacks and surprise, it matters because of the heat put on the champs. Dez & Zach VS Aaron & Steven was kinda filler, or at least an excuse to get The Rascalz out there to give their promo. I know it’s just usual wrestler stuff to say they’re the best no matter what’s going on, but c’mon, they’re barely getting traction even in ROH. They win a squash, then Myron loses to Bailey. It was a great match, though, but of course Bailey rebounds. Good promo from Bailey and Nick Wayne to then set up the Triple Threat with MJF, but Nick is probably there to take the loss since he’s got Death Before Dishonor to fall back on.

Great tag match from Perse & Shida VS Maya & Hyan, and I had a feeling the Heels would win and with Hyan taking the loss. Perse and Shida could each challenge for the TBS Championship but who knows who gets the All In match. Great promo from Shane Taylor Promotions with Hurt Syndicate, and that is quite the super group. And I suppose this helps do both stories at once. They kinda ditched Syndicate recruiting new members and now it’s just them helping STP take over AEW. Very good promos from Darby and Knight, and c’mon, that Falls Count Anywhere is totally happening. Knight VS Jericho is gonna be great, but I would think Knight wins out, especially if he cheats.

And great stuff with the Continental Challenge Cup. Though, they apparently added “Challenge” to the name rather last minute. Anyway, great win for Claudio and Cassidy, as well as Eddie. I mostly love the blind draw aspect, because now we’re all wondering if we’re getting Eddie VS Claudio, Eddie VS Cassidy, Cassidy VS Claudio, or something else entirely. The 8 Man Tag was great stuff, but to think The Dogs would interfere. Good promo from Connors and Finlay to call out Bang Bang Gang, Finlay VS White is going to be great. I’m mostly thankful White is back in action again, they have gotta be more careful that he doesn’t get sidelined again.
