Andrew’s MLW Fusion Results & Ratings: 9.24.2026

This is the Fusion Fightland special with a Taboo Tangle, Black Tiger and a Lady Frost Open Challenge. The ninth Black Tiger shows up to face Templario in a match that should be an interesting mixture of Japanese Junior Heavyweight style and lucha libre. We know that Eddie Guerrero and Rocky Romero were prior Black Tigers, so the new Tiger has some names to live up to.

Now let’s see which tag team implodes in the Taboo Tangle.

Josh Bishop and Killer Kross joined forces in the Taboo Tangle at MLW FIGHTLAND!

Black Tiger IX vs Templario

The Lion Warrior versus the Black Tiger. Now where is the Bear?

Quick Leg Trips and pinfalls for the first few minutes, Templario hits the spinarooni and Black Tiger offers the handshake, tries to be cheap, Templario turns it into a Headscissors, Black Tiger powders, Baseball Slide but Black Tiger catches Templario into an Apron Bomb. They go into the ring, Black Tiger drops Templario with a Back Elbow, starts working on taking off the mask and the crowd boos heavily, a few more spots, Pop-Up Flapjack into a Thrust Kick, and keeps trying to take off the mask. Tiger stomps on Templario, stands on him in the corner and Tiger plays to the crowd. Templario halts the Irish Whip, hits a satellite Mexican Arm Drag into back to back Dives. Back in the ring, Templario hits on the Crossbody, multiple kicks that scores with an Enzuigiri, but a Sole Butt from Black Tiger into a Full Arm Drag and Twist.

Black Tiger showboats a little, rope run, Snap Powerslam from Templario for a two count. Templario gets caught into a Black Tiger Backbreaker for two. Gamengiri from Tiger, but he eats a Thrust Kick, Code Red from Templario for two! Strike Exchange, Tiger hits the ropes and eats a Thrust Kick, Templario hits and eats an Uppercut, they keep trading, Drop Step Dodge the lariat from Templario and a Superkick drops Tiger. Templario Kips Up, but Tiger rakes the eyes and goes for the Eddie Guerrero Triple Suplexes (Eddie was Black Tiger II), but Templario stops the third, Diving Headbutt, Powerbomb, Lionsault into a modified Rings of Saturn. Templario wins via submission!

Finish was awkward and sloppy, but somewhat entertaining through most of the match.

After @Joe_Coffey of GBOT took a shot at @CJGallows at FIGHTLAND, @The_BigLG took it upon himself to put Coffey in his place!

Lady Frost vs Masha Slamovich

You know, Lady Frost has a good look, solid moveset but every time she joins a company, she gets showed up by another signing. Clara Carter was coming out to be an enhancement talent, but Masha Slamovich attacks her, Joseph Samael is behind her and Masha is the challenger.

They start fast, Frost hits the Headscissors, but Masha surges back and catches Frost, a few slaps, Victory Roll from Frost but Masha kicks out and Frost gets kicked in the head. H.A.T.E. is in the rafters, Masha hits a PK on Frost and locks in a Camel Clutch with a face rake. Masha starts kicking Frost around, Frost tries to fight up and then gets a Round Kick to the face. Frost is getting foot choked in the corner, and the crowd is trying to support Frost but she’s getting Snap Suplex’d, Stretch Plum, and Frost bites the hand to get out. Flash Cradle from Frost for two, but Masha hits the Dropkick, and Frost grabs the ropes. Masha shoves her in the corner and starts slapping Frost around. Frost keeps kicking out and Masha keeps leveling her with consecutive Lariats.

Frost ducks the next attack, fires off the ropes with a Diving Lariat into her Cartwheel Senton for two. Masha strikes, Frost dodges the last kick, hits her own Step Over Kick. Frostbite connects! Masha kicks out! Frost wants the Killer Driller but gets caught and stopped, slammed back into a Sidewalk Slam, but Frost kicks out. Frost with the Jacknife Cradle, but only two. Masha drags Frost face first into the ropes, Russian Death Device and Masha wins.

Good match, sucks for Frost never being able to be the crown jewel of the women’s division. Contra Masha will put on good matches, but she’s still a piece of shit human.

Taboo Tangle: Killer Kross & Josh Bishop vs Austin Aries & Mistico

Mistico and Kross are going to start, Aries tags out Mistico to upstage him, but then wants to tag out and Mistico says no. So Aries and Kross eventually start with Aries very tenuously tying up. The size and power is obvious but Aries forces the tag to Mistico. Mistico shakes hands, Kross flips off Aries and then they lock up. A little World of Sport chain wrestling, Mistico tries a Springboard Crossbody but gets caught, slips the catch and tries to hit Kross with some Lucha moves including his Knucklock Mexican Arm Drag spot. Kross smiles and tags out, Bishop walks in and starts choking Mistico, Mistico breaks free, John Woo Dropkick but Bishop powders, grabs a chair and then everyone including Kross stops him from using the weapon. But while they’re all distracted, he runs over Mistico and then Scoop Slams him for a one count. Bishop works Mistico into his corner, and Kross and Bishop with quick tags, but not really agreeing when the other tags. Effective yet miscommunicated.

Kross feeds Mistico to Aries and Aries starts yelling with fans to take him away from being able to tag Mistico. Aries is leaving Mistico for dead, and Mistico is actually reaching out to Aries. Bishop and Kross keep working surprisingly well, and Mistico is alone basically. Mistico counters Kross, Gamengiri, Escalera Frankensteiner. Will Aries tag Mistico? Aries pretends like he was gonna tag, gloats that he screwed Mistico, Mistico gets away from Bishop and Kross and blind tags Aries as he’s not looking. Kross fires, Lariats, Diamond Cutter! Aries is getting worked over, Kross whips Aries to Bishop but Aries hits him with the Forearm. Bishop Chokeslams Kross and walks off to get his chair. Mistico Dives at Bishop, Aries grabs both titles, but Mistico stops Aries from using the belt, Superkick from Mistico and Aries is getting choked out in the Kross Jacket, Mistico flips off Aries and Aries submits.

Overall Score: 5.5/10

So there was no Squash match, good job there MLW. But bringing in Masha is still stupid. She is legitimately someone who abuses her spouses. She is a terrible person, and while I can sit here and say he matches will be more good than bad, I can’t sign off on involving her in any televised wrestling company. This is just stupid, ignorant and sends a very bad message about the quality of people you’re willing to give money to.

As I said in the article, I feel a little bad for Lady Frost. She’s a decent worker, has a great look and moveset, but she always gets signed to places right before they bring in someone better. So any momentum Frost had from that Triple Threat a month ago or whatever, is completely gone and now she’s getting positioned as a makeshift babyface? Bad booking is bad. Also, debuting Black Tiger just to have him lose is…weird. And he wasn’t overly heelish, just went after masks occasionally. Made him look like kind of a dork.

Also, part of me hopes that Mistico ensuring that Aries lost the Taboo Tangle, isn’t the extent of his revenge for getting him eliminated from the Opera Cup. The stakes for a random gimmick tag match aren’t equivalent.

So from a match quality perspective, this was a decent show. But it loses points for involving Masha. Sometimes I feel like this is Court Bauer and whoever the booking/creative team is for this company:
