Chairshot Wrestling News Report (9/25/2026): Syx Arrives, Order 4 Cracks & Ospreay Stares Down Moxley
Syx arrives and signs with TNA, Order 4 begins falling apart, while Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley have their final All Out confrontation.
Syx arrives and signs with TNA, Order 4 begins falling apart, while Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley have their final All Out confrontation.
TNA finally revealed who has been attacking its roster Thursday night, and the answer immediately brought two former WWE stars into the company full-time. Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw unmasked after attacking The Hardys, and TNA quickly confirmed that the duo now known as Syx has officially signed.
That was only part of a busy Impact that saw Mustafa Ali return to the ring while losing two members of Order 4, Ryan Nemeth advance into the X-Division Championship match at Bound For Glory and the Nic Nemeth-Leon Slater rivalry reach the point where TNA had to ban both men from touching each other. Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite and Collision also left plenty behind heading into All Out, including Mike Bailey joining United Empire and one final statement from Will Ospreay to Jon Moxley.
It’s the Chairshot Wrestling News Report for September 25, 2026!
Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw Are Syx — And They Have Signed With TNA
Weeks of mystery attacks around TNA finally led to the arrival of Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw on Thursday’s Impact. Matt and Jeff Hardy called the attackers to the ring, only to be jumped from behind when the lights went out before the two men revealed themselves. Sawyer previously wrestled in WWE as Joe Gacy, while Shaw was known there as Dexter Lumis, with both men most recently associated with the Wyatt Sicks before being released earlier this year.
The reveal was followed almost immediately by confirmation that both men have signed with TNA and will work together under the name Syx. The Hardys recovered enough by the end of the episode to challenge Sawyer and Shaw to a match next week, giving TNA an immediate program rather than treating the surprise as something that needs several more weeks of explanation.
That is the right move after stretching the attacker mystery across several episodes. Once the identities were revealed, there was little reason to delay the obvious destination, especially when Sawyer and Shaw already have enough history together for TNA to present them as an established threat instead of two unrelated newcomers.
TNA Impact Results — September 24, 2026
Thursday’s live Impact from San Antonio continued building Bound For Glory while Mustafa Ali returned to action and successfully defended the International Championship. Ryan Nemeth also earned another championship opportunity, while Elayna Black became the next challenger for the Knockouts Television Championship.
- TNA X-Division Championship Qualifier – Ryan Nemeth defeated KJ Orso
- Tornado Tag Team Match – The Righteous defeated BDE & Rich Swann
- Elijah defeated Eddie Edwards
- TNA Knockouts Television Championship No. 1 Contender Match – Elayna Black defeated Gabby Forza, Jada Stone and Harley Hudson
- TNA International Championship – Mustafa Ali defeated Trey Miguel and Jason Hotch
Ryan Nemeth’s victory puts him into the Bound For Glory match that will crown a new X-Division Champion, while Elayna Black earned a future shot against M By Elegance. Ali escaped the main event by using the International Championship belt against Miguel before scoring the pin, keeping the title while the rest of his organization began coming apart around him.
The results themselves were only part of the show because TNA packed several important Bound For Glory developments around them. That is usually the better use of Impact this close to a major event: advance the card through matches, but make the television stories feel like they matter just as much as qualifying brackets.
Mila Moore and John Skyler Walk Away From Order 4
Mustafa Ali returned from the punctured lung and fractured ribs suffered at Lockdown, but his faction did not survive the night intact. After Ali blamed Mila Moore for arranging his International Championship defense and continued berating her, John Skyler defended Moore before she eventually announced that she was quitting Order 4 and declared that Skyler was leaving with her.
Ali responded by sending Special Agent 0 after them, turning what had been tension inside the faction into an outright split. That gives Ali another problem at exactly the point where he seemed positioned to regain control after returning from injury.
Order 4 has worked best when Ali appears convinced that everyone around him exists to support his vision. Having members finally decide that the arrangement no longer benefits them gives the group somewhere meaningful to go rather than simply cycling through more dissension teases.
Nic Nemeth and Leon Slater Are Banned From Touching Each Other
Leon Slater and TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth nearly turned the opening segment into a fight before Bound For Glory could arrive. Ryan Nemeth attempted to ambush Slater, Slater saw it coming and the situation escalated until multiple groups of security personnel were needed to separate the champion and challenger.
Santino Marella responded by imposing a no-contact rule: if Nic Nemeth attacks Slater before Bound For Glory, Nemeth will be stripped of the TNA World Championship, while Slater will lose his title opportunity if he initiates physical contact with the champion. TNA also announced during the show that Ryan Nemeth qualified for the X-Division Championship match at Bound For Glory by defeating KJ Orso.
The stipulation gives TNA a useful restriction for the remaining weeks because the rivalry had reached the stage where another routine pull-apart would accomplish very little. It also keeps Ryan involved as a potential problem without allowing Nic and Slater to simply fight every Thursday until their championship match.
Bound For Glory Adds Call Your Shot and More Championship Movement
The Call Your Shot Gauntlet will return at Bound For Glory, with Frankie Kazarian and Avery Styles both announcing their participation Thursday. Styles will make his TNA in-ring debut in the match, while Kazarian enters after defeating Moose last week in the match that preserved Moose’s TNA career.
Elsewhere, Indi Hartwell was officially granted a Knockouts World Championship match against Xia Brookside after Santino Marella suspended Daria Rae, while Elayna Black earned her opportunity at M By Elegance’s Knockouts Television Championship. Ryan Nemeth’s qualifier also placed him into the vacant X-Division title match alongside the other wrestlers advancing through that ongoing series.
TNA is filling the Bound For Glory card through several different paths instead of simply announcing everything at once. That helps the television feel consequential, especially when victories such as Nemeth’s and Black’s produce immediate championship stakes.
AEW Dynamite & Collision Results — September 23, 2026
AEW’s three-hour Wednesday presentation served as the final Dynamite and Collision before Saturday’s All Out. The night included two championship matches, one Continental Championship Eliminator and several matches directly connected to the pay-per-view.
- AEW World Trios Championship – Swerve Strickland & The New Level defeated The Demand
- AEW Continental Championship Eliminator – Jon Moxley defeated Dezmond Xavier
- Tommaso Ciampa defeated Jake Doyle
- TBS Championship – Persephone defeated Hyan
- Will Ospreay & Mike Bailey defeated Claudio Castagnoli & Gabe Kidd
- Kyle Fletcher & Kevin Knight defeated The Outrunners
- Queen Aminata defeated Skye Blue
- PAC defeated Ace Austin
The show also produced several developments outside the matches. Persephone issued an open challenge for the TBS Championship at All Out, Hangman Page and Brodido confronted Swerve and The New Level ahead of their Trios Championship match, while PAC and Andrade El Idolo ended the broadcast fighting into the crowd before their National Championship match Saturday.
With All Out only days away, AEW resisted adding unnecessary turns to most of its biggest programs. The important work was establishing where everyone stood going into Chicago, and the Ospreay-Moxley confrontation provided the clearest example.
Mike Bailey Joins United Empire as Ospreay Sends His Last Message to Moxley
Mike Bailey officially joined United Empire before teaming with Will Ospreay against Claudio Castagnoli and Gabe Kidd. Bailey and Ospreay won when Ospreay hit Castagnoli with a Styles Clash, giving the AEW World Champion a victory heading into his title defense against Jon Moxley at All Out.
Afterward, Ospreay acknowledged everything Moxley has meant to AEW and the lessons he learned from their previous battles, but made it clear that their positions have changed. When Moxley entered the ring and questioned whether Ospreay truly felt like the champion, Ospreay avoided a sneak attack from Gabe Kidd, hit Kidd with the Hidden Blade and emphatically told Moxley that he did.
That is a much stronger final image than another giant brawl. Moxley’s argument has consistently been built around experience and what he has sacrificed for AEW, while Ospreay’s response is essentially that none of it changes who holds the championship now.
Bailey joining United Empire also gives AEW another connection to Ospreay’s history without requiring the company to completely recreate the faction. Bailey already operates comfortably in the international wrestling world AEW likes to draw from, so placing him beside Ospreay feels considerably more natural than forcing a new alliance from scratch.
Persephone Adds Another All Out Championship Match
Persephone successfully defended the TBS Championship against Hyan on Dynamite before issuing an open challenge for another defense at All Out. The invitation came with exclusions, as Persephone specifically prevented Hyan, Thunder Rosa and the injured Maya World from accepting.
Hyan responded by introducing Thunder Rosa as her new partner before challenging Persephone and Britt Baker to a tag match on next week’s Dynamite in Pittsburgh. That allows AEW to continue the television rivalry while using the open challenge to create something different for Saturday.
The unanswered opponent makes this one of the few All Out matches where the intrigue currently rests as much on who appears as what happens after the bell. AEW has several directions available without needing to advertise an answer before the pay-per-view.
Tony Khan Stops Short of Confirming Mara Sadé’s AEW Status
Fightful Select previously reported that Mara Sadé had signed a full-time salaried deal with AEW, but Tony Khan did not formally confirm the signing when asked about her during Thursday’s All Out media call. Khan instead described Sadé as a young wrestler AEW knows well and said she is someone of “great interest,” while encouraging people to stay tuned when asked whether she could answer Persephone’s TBS Championship open challenge.
The distinction matters because the reported contract has still not been publicly announced by AEW. Khan’s comments do not contradict the reporting that Sadé is under contract, but they do show that the company is intentionally keeping her immediate plans unconfirmed.
That makes Saturday’s open challenge an obvious place for speculation without making it something we should present as scheduled. Until Sadé actually appears or AEW announces the deal, the reported signing and her television debut remain two separate things.
Lola Vice Says the Main-Roster Call Came at the Right Time
Lola Vice believes four and a half years of development through NXT and AAA prepared her for the jump to Raw. Speaking on Busted Open after her main-roster arrival, Vice said she felt mentally and physically ready when the call came and acknowledged that an earlier promotion would have happened before she had accumulated the experience or character development she now possesses.
Vice has already qualified for Money in the Bank and officially signed her Raw contract, giving WWE very little transition period between her NXT run and her first major main-roster program. Her comments fit the presentation because WWE has not treated her arrival as a developmental wrestler receiving an audition; she has immediately been positioned around established names and a major premium live event.
The important part of Vice’s answer is the willingness to admit that being capable of wrestling on the main roster and actually being ready for the role are not necessarily the same thing. Four years in developmental can sound excessive from the outside, but the finished version of a wrestler often depends on learning everything that happens between the matches.
WWE SmackDown Preview — September 25, 2026
SmackDown heads to Indianapolis tonight with Trick Williams defending the United States Championship against Baron Corbin inside a Steel Cage. Corbin previously took the championship from Trick at SummerSlam before Williams regained it at Saturday Night’s Main Event, and WWE is presenting the cage match as the next major chapter of their increasingly physical rivalry.
Money in the Bank qualification also continues with CM Punk, Gunther and Finn Bálor scheduled for the final men’s Triple Threat qualifier, while Giulia, Charlotte Flair and Lash Legend compete for the remaining women’s position. Trick Williams and Jacy Jayne previously qualified from SmackDown, while Penta and Roxanne Perez advanced Monday on Raw.
The men’s qualifier is particularly loaded because WWE is putting three wrestlers who have spent significant time around the world-title picture into one match for a single position. Whoever loses can remain protected by the Triple Threat format, while the winner immediately joins a Money in the Bank field that has already become considerably less predictable with Penta involved.
Friday closes a week where several companies have moved aggressively toward their next major events. TNA finally turned its mystery attack into the arrival of Syx, AEW finished the final television build for All Out and WWE now has one more night to complete the Money in the Bank fields while continuing the road toward Worlds Collide.
