Tonight, AEW pays tribute to “The Butcher,” Andy Williams.

As AEW mourns the loss of The Butcher, Andy Williams, tonight’s Collision will be dedicated to the life, career, and legacy of a man both menacing and caring.

Tony Schiavone has the mic.

He welcomes us to this very special edition of AEW Collision, live from Springfield, Massachusetts. In the ring is a reef with a picture of Andy Williams, and a guitar sitting by in honor of his band, Every Time I Die. Schiavone says we celebrate the life of a man who meant so much to everyone in AEW. Please stand for a ten bell salute. The fans stand for this moment of silence as the bell rings ten times. Schiavone thanks everyone, and the fans then cheer for “Butcher! Butcher!”

We hear from Butcher’s friends here in AEW. Brody King says Andy Williams was a passionate pro-wrestler and musician, and a great friend. For the last ten years, Brody had the honor of calling Andy one of his closest friends. They used to sit in the crowd of PWG shows, not even thinking that one day, those would be their peers. Colt Cabana notes that during the Pandemic, the AEW locker room bonded so quickly, because they were forced to. Colt ended up great friends with Andy, his spirit of how he was friendly with everyone.

Justin Roberts says it is hard to describe Andy with the way he’s been feeling. It was like an angel thought it’d be fun to choose the idea of “The Butcher” and yet help as many people in as short amount of time as they knew him. Justin is thankful to have had Andy as a part of his life. Justin loves and misses Andy so much. Penelope Ford is so lucky to have gotten to work with Andy and call him friend. Jeff Jarrett says there are very few who leave a mark like Andy did, that is something he’s going to carry with himself for the rest of his life.

Kip Sabian says there’s not enough words that do Andy justice. Andy was the one Kip would go to when things were dark and he needed light. Andy did that for so many others in AEW. Kip will always miss and love Andy. Brody adds that he’s gonna order some apps just for Andy, he loves him and will miss him forever.

AEW Continental Championship Eliminator: Jon Moxley VS “Speedball” Mike Bailey!

The Maniac may be preparing to go all out against Will Ospreay, but he still has a title of his own to defend. But will Moxley owe Speedball a golden ticket after tonight? Or will Moxley bounce Bailey within the time limit?

The bell rings and the fans fire up as the two stare down. Moxley and Bailey slowly circle as the fans fire up more, and the two tie up. Moxley shifts around, waistlocks, but Bailey wrenches out to switch. The fans rally as Moxley works on a switch, but Bailey holds on. Bailey floats to a facelock but Moxley slips free to waistlock back. Bailey headlocks for a takeover, Moxley headscissors, and Bailey kips free. The fans cheer and duel as the two reset. Bailey offers a fist bump, Moxley just snatches Bailey into a waistlock. Bailey wrenches, hammerlocks, but Moxley reaches back to cording hold. Bailey goes to the ropes and the ref counts the break.

Moxley backs off slowly, then he and Bailey reset. They feel out a knuckle lock, go shoulder to shoulder, then forehead to forehead. They go around, Moxley straitjackets, but Bailey drop toeholds to float and facelock. Bailey pushes to a cover, ONE! They go again, clinch, and Moxley is on the ropes. Moxley turns it around on Bailey, then THROWS Bailey down! Cover, ONE, but Moxley clamps onto an arm. Bailey endures as Moxley bends the fingers! The fans wince as Moxley pushes on the hand with his chin. Bailey bites at Moxley’s ankle, but the boot is too tough. Moxley then SNAPS Bailey’s fingers!

The fans are torn as Bailey makes sure his hand still works. Bailey CHOPS, but Moxley CHOPS right back! Moxley JABS, then stalks Bailey. Moxley JABS, then smothers Bailey in the corner. The fans are torn, the ref counts, and Moxley stops at 4. Moxley whips, but Bailey handsprings! Moxley dodges, Bailey dodges, and Bailey RANAS! Moxley bails out, but Bailey wants after him! Moxley goes around the way, and Bailey eggs Moxley on. The fans fire up as Moxley storms back into the ring. The two reset, feel things out, and knuckle lock. Moxley then kicks low! Moxley scoops and SLAMS Bailey and the fans cheer.

Moxley storms around, then covers, ONE! Moxley kneels on Bailey’s back, ties up the legs, then rolls to have the reverse Muta Lock! Bailey endures, the fans rally, and Moxley shifts around to lean on the leglock to get a facelock! Bailey endures the modified Angelito Stretch, but then Moxley fishhooks him! Moxley goes back to the arm and the bad hand! Moxley bends the fingers as hard as he can before he SLAMS the arm off the mat! Bailey goes to a corner, Moxley storms over, and Moxley whips corner to corner. Bailey BOOTS Moxley in return! Bailey goes up, leaps, and MISSILE DROPKICKS Moxley down! The fans fire up as Bailey rises!

Bailey SOBATS, then AX KICKS! Then ROUNDHOUSE and Moxley falls! Bailey aims while the fans fire up, and SHOOTING STAR FLOP! Moxley TOSSES Bailey out, then storms out after him while talking a lot of trash. The fans fire up as Moxley whips, but Bailey stops himself! Bailey dodges, Moxley runs into steps! Bailey KICKS away on Moxley’s leg! Then he grabs it to DRAGON SCREW! Moxley falls, clutching the knee, and the fans fire up for Bailey. Bailey runs to go up the apron, FLYING CHUCK! Moxley falls, Bailey goes up, and Bailey ASAI TORNILLOS! Down goes Moxley and the fans fire up as Collision goes picture in picture.

Bailey grabs Moxley’s leg and KICKS it! Moxley hobbles away, but Bailey KICKS the bad leg again! The ring count climbs, but Bailey grabs Moxley’s bad leg, puts it on the apron, and KNEE DROPS the ankle! Moxley clutches the leg but Bailey pushes him into the ring. But Moxley ROCKS Bailey! Bailey falls off the apron, Moxley builds speed, but the bad foot jams! Bailey runs in and DROPKICKS the leg out! Bailey Oklahoma Rolls Moxley, TWO, but then Bailey wraps on for a KNEEBAR! Moxley crawls over, Bailey sits up, but Moxley fires a forearm! Bailey drops to his knees again, but he rises back up. The fans rally as Bailey fires a forearm, and Moxley fires back! The shots go back and forth, then they get forehead to forehead! They throw shots, Bailey goes for a leg, but Moxley CLUBS away! Bailey lets go, to KICK the bad leg! And KICK again! Bailey stays out of Moxley’s range to KICK again! Bailey grabs the leg but Moxley ROCKS Bailey! Moxley grabs an arm but Bailey wrenches through to HOOK KICK Moxley! Bailey grits his teeth as he rises up, but Moxley also stands. Bailey fires shots, bobs ‘n’ weaves, then fires off KICK after KICK! Bailey gets the leg but Moxley gets the arm! Moxley fires knees while pulling on the arm! Moxley wrangles Bailey down, rolls him, and has the REAR NAKED CHOKE! Bailey endures, reaches out, and rolls it back, TWO! Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz & Myron Reed want in on the AEW World Trios Championship conversation, but uh, is this how to do it? Facing “The Ivy League Cowboy” and #Soloroto, aka a bootleg version of Hangman Page & Brodido… Well, will it at least be a win? Or will The Griff, The Extra Talented & The Freak Beast prove they’re the new sheriffs in town?

The trios sort out and Myron starts against Griff. They circle, tie up, and Myron waistlocks. Griff switches, Myron arm-drags free, but Griff ducks a kick. Griff blocks a kick, but not the DRAGON WHIP! Myron tags Zach, then feeds Griff to a HOTSHOT! Myron ROCKS Griff, then Zach steps in for a CODE BREAKER! Tag to Dez, and Myron lifts for a rebound BACK SUPLEX NECKBREAKER COMBO! The Rascalz let Griff scramble away and tag in Solo. Solo runs up but is sent into a corner. Daniel Garcia says he knew Andy for close to ten years, and in a lot of ways, he grew up with Andy like a big brother. Andy’s the one who gave him the nickname, “Red Death.” Andy was the first person you wanna call when you had a success, a win in life, but also the kind that when you had a loss in life, he’d be there to talk to, and that’s the kind of friend you should want. Someone that can be there for your biggest wins and biggest losses. Willow Nightingale says Andy was a big rockstar, came into wrestling, crushed it, and was just a crazy caveman dude who looked cool as hell and could kick the brakes off anyone.

But in the end, he was also so kind and humble, no ego. He’d put his hands out and helped more than maybe even he realized. Willow just hopes Andy is remembered for the great person he was, he was the epitome of a good brother. Pac always knew Andy was an anomaly, too good for this world. Pac just wants to say he loves Andy, and he always made sure Pac knew he was loved, too. Pac misses Andy, and until they meet again.

The CEO, or perhaps “Big D Mone,” struts her way out to ringside because she wants to be on commentary as we see The Fighting Gravure Idol and The One True African Queen face off. The twist is that Mina and Aminata have been teaming together between AEW and ROH, so can this one stay friendly? Or will the presence of the AEW Women’s World Champion bring out their ambitions?

The bell rings and the fans rally as the two circle. The dueling sounds pretty even, maybe leaning towards Aminata. The two tie up, go around, and Aminata waistlocks. Aminata headlocks, but Mina fires body shots. Mina wrenches out, wristlocks, but Aminata spins through to wrench and wristlock back. Mina spins, slips under, trips Aminata, and ties up the legs to then float to a headlock. Aminata fights up, slips out the back, but Mina dodges the lariat to slide and shimmy. Aminata ghost pins Mina, TWO! Mina says hey, no fair! Aminata apologizes, and they shake hands. The fans cheer the friendship, then the two tie up.

Mina headlocks, Aminata powers up and out, then Aminata drops down,. Mina ducks the hurdle, drops down, then blows past, only for Aminata to RUN her over! Aminata flexes, and tells Mone she sees her, as well as that bedazzled bandage. Mina gets up, gives Aminata a shove, but Aminata shoves back. Mina says love you, but… She fires a forearm! Aminata fires back, and they go back and forth! The fans rally as the two dare each other. They fire shots again and again, and Mina fires a flurry! Mina runs, but Aminata DOUBLE CHOPS her down! The fans fire up while Mina flounders to a corner.

Aminata runs up, ELBOWS Mina, then cravats. Aminata then clamps on, CHOCOLATE KISSES! AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH, YEEEAH! Then a cover, TWO! Mina survives, but Aminata whips her to ropes. Mina reverses, reels Aminata in, but Aminata stops the tornado DDT. Mina CLUBS Aminata, tries again, TORNADO DDT! A rough landing but Mina stays focused. Mina runs up, but Aminata catches her! A fingertip is just enough, and Mina lets go in frustration. Mina drags Aminata, fires up again, then steps through, but Aminata cradles! AMINATA WINS!

Mina is shocked and Mone is impressed. Could Aminata be moving up in the ranks towards a title opportunity? Aminata and Mina still hug it out all the same, and the fans cheer the respect.

The Death Riders speak.

Pac says, “Tonight is a very important evening. But for The Death Riders, it’s business as usual.” But Clark Connors steps in, and he says, “No, no, no, no. On Wednesday, it might be the three of your guys (Pac, Gabe Kidd and Jon Moxley) VS The United Empire, but tonight, it’s the four of us VS The Bang Bang Gang, and we gotta figure some stuff out first.” David Finlay says last he checked, Gabe was a Dog long before he was a Death Rider, so what happened on them being killers? They all know that if roles were reversed and Finlay was the one with a weapon in his hand, absolutely nobody would’ve stopped him from smashing Ospreay’s head in.

Connors adds that when Gabe got back from Japan, he was so full of “piss and vinegar” that he riled The Dogs up. What happened to that? Where’s that Gabe been? Because every time Moxley says he needs Gabe for something, he comes running! Moxley storms over now, and he stares Connors down. Moxley says he does not need anything from anyone. Moxley was in the trenches, fighting wars for the future of this sport, for kids like Connors, while Connors was scrubbing backs in the dojo, and popping zits on Liger’s back. Moxley does not do favors, he does not babysit. What they do is that they show “kids from nowhere” what hard work can do.

People pay their hard-earned money for tickets to these shows like here in Springfield, and they deserve every single thing that you have. Now, The Dogs can whine and complain and be “What about me?” Or they can go out there and dog walk the Bang Bang Gang and show them who you are! You can show them who the Death Riders are, exactly like they do every night! Do they wanna do that? Or do they wanna cry? Moxley leaves it at that, and Gabe is fired up now! Do they want a killer? Then let’s kill the Bang Bang Gang! Gabe leads the way out, will Pac & The Dogs run wild tonight? Or will The Collision Cowboys make sure it’s still #GunsUp?

Well, before the big shootout happens, The Switchblade is looking to keep his own edge sharp. Will Springfield learn to breathe with the Switchblade? Or will #AllGenresAdam prove his own worth tonight?

The bell rings and the fans rally as White and Priest circle. They feel things out, White avoids Priest going for a leg, and they clinch. White wrenches to a wristlock, but Priest wrenches and wristlocks in return. White slips through, waistlocks, then spins Priest to wrench and wristlock. Priest wrenches through, White headlocks for a takeover, but Priest headscissors. White kips free, and the fans cheer “Guns Up!” Priest joins in on the gun fingers, then circles with White again. They tie up, White headlocks, but Priest powers up and out. White RUNS Priest over, keeps moving, and he RUNS Priest over again. White hits another headlock for the takeover.

Priest fights around, stands up, and he powers out. Priest drops down, drops again, then DROPKICKS! The fans cheer that while White goes to the corner. Priest storms up, but White CHOPS! And CHOPS again! And CHPOS, but Priest ducks to CHOP! Priest ROCKS White with forearms, but White shoves. Priest dodges to CHOP, CHOP, and UPPERCUT! Priest whips corner to corner, White slides to a stop, then he comes back to wrench Priest into a DDT! Cover, TWO! The fans rally up, White clamps onto Priest, but Priest fights up. Priest fires body shots, but White goes for a leg. White trips Priest, steps over, then ties up the legs!

White has a Death Lock, and he does the gun fingers as he leans back, MUTA LOCK! The fans rally as Priest endures, fights around, and has the ROPEBREAK! The ref counts, White lets go, and the fans applaud. White stalks Priest, brings him around, but Priest fires body shots. Priest fires a forearm, White fires back, but Priest kicks. White blocks, but then Priest gets a leg, too! They both let go, but White takes a swing, only for Priest to dodge! Priest ROCKS and CHOPS but White kicks low! Priest still ROCKS and CHOSP! Jay White decides to join commentary since he sees Jon Moxley & Marina Shafir here. White almost goes after Moxley, if not for The Problem being in the way. The teams sort out, but then they just brawl! The fans fire up as the bell rings, Gabe TOSSES Austin Gunn while Ace Austin is after Connors! Pac has Colten, and naturally Juice and Finlay throw hands as former teammates. Gabe goes after Ace, CLAWS his face, and Finlay TOSSES Juice while Pac DUMPS Colten out. The Dogs mug Ace, Pac joins in, and they all stomp away! The fans boo but The Dogs & Pac soak it up. Moxley likes what he sees but the ref reprimands.

Connors drags Ace up, puts him in the corner, and he CHOKES Ace. Pac runs up and ELBOWS! Gabe LARIATS! Connors LARIATS! Finlay UPPERCUTS! The Cycle of Violence continues, but Ace TOSSES Pac up and out! Then he BOOTS Gabe, DUMPS Connors, and he dodges Finlay! Now The Bang Bang Gang gets going, Colten SPLASHES, Ace LARIATS, Austin SPLASHES, then Juice UPPERCUTS! The Collision Cowboys do the Cycle of Violence just as well as The Death Riders do! The Bang Bang Gang gets Finlay up, Ace fireman’s carries, but Pac is on the apron. Juice BLASTS Pac, Colten DECKS Connors, and Austin BLASTS Gabe, all while Ace does squats! The fans count along, Ace gets a set of TEN in! Then DEATH VALLEY DRIVER! The fans fire up with the Quad King while he clamps onto Finlay, and Collision goes picture in picture.

The ref has the Bang Bang Gang go to their corner while Ace grinds Finlay’s arm. Ace brings Finlay over, tag to Juice, and Juice climbs up. Ace wrenches the arm, Juice AX HANDLES it! Juice wrenches Finlay now, but Finlay RAMS Juice into the corner! The Dogs mug Juice, Pac gets his shots in while the ref is distracted, but they all get away with it. Finlay then covers, TWO! Juice toughs it out but Finlay tags Connors. Finlay stomps Juice’s hand, then Connors clamps onto a chinlock. Juice endures, fights up, but Connors CLUBs him with a crossface forearm! Connors whips Juice hard into the corner, then tags Gabe.

Gabe CLAWS Juice’s face while the ref is busy arguing with Connors and Pac. Gabe drags Juice up, bumps him off buckles, then Gabe headbutts the buckle! Gabe SMACKS Juice off the buckle, then headbutts the buckle, and repeat! Juice staggers and falls, Gabe flexes as he soaks up heat, then he tells Springfield off. The ref works to keep order between both teams, but Pac tags in. Pac keeps Juice from the corner, mocks The Bang Bang Gang by holding out Juice’s hand, then stomps Juice. Pac BOOTS Juice down, taunts Springfield, then kicks Juice around. Juice sits up, but Pac ELBOWS him in the head. Pac then clamps on a chinlock and grinds Juice down.

Collision returns to single picture as Juice endures and the fans rally up. Juice fights as the fans chant “GUNS UP!” Juice rises, reaches out, but Pac whips him away. Chuck Taylor says Andy Williams was the coolest guy he ever met, and he does not say that hyperbolically. Andy was the coolest guy. In college, Every Time I Die was Chuck’s favorite bad, so he was so fortunate to become Andy’s friend. Chuck will miss Andy, he was just the coolest. Darius Martin says there aren’t really words to describe what Andy meant to the locker room. He was someone everyone could look up to as a leader, and everything you could ask for in a friend. The funniest storyteller ever, too. Roderick Strong says he was just thinking back to when they were both grappling in CSW, and they both had no clue what they were doing. They were just trying.

Roddy thanks Andy for all the random texts, the random conversations, and just for being a good brother. Christopher Daniels says Andy had such a distinct look, and then getting to know Andy as a gentle giant, it was just such a pleasure. Lee Moriarty says Andy Williams was the best of pro-wrestling and the world and what it should be. He’ll always be loved and always be missed. Kyle O’Reilly says Andy was a beacon of light in a locker room. No matter what kind of day you were having, you could rely on him to make you smile. They’re all going to miss him so very much.

Braxton was there with Andy the night he passed, a lot of emotion goes into this. “Andy was the most talented person that I ever met. But I think we all can agree that he was an even better friend. Andy loved pro-wrestling, and he loved the fans. Thank you, everybody, for the support, and thank you to everybody in AEW for tonight’s event honoring Andy Williams. We love you, Andy.”

Will The Franchise, Vanilla Baby & Big Shotty prove why they’re championship material? The trios sort out and Cassidy starts against Lethal. Cassidy does the Butcher drop steps and the fans cheer that. Creed brings up being former tag team partners with Jay Lethal when he was a senior in college. Cassidy and Lethal tie up, Lethal powers Cassidy back to ropes, and the ref counts. Lethal backs off, and Cassidy has his hands up. Cassidy reaches for his pockets, but he dodges as Lethal rushes up. Cassidy comes back but Lethal trips him. It’s chaotic all around, and the bell rings to at least get this on record! Dante goes up to CANNONBALL onto Alexander! Garcia CLAWS Eddie’s eyes! Darius POSTS Jake, then swings from the post to RANA! The fans rally as Jake is first to go into the ring, and Darius follows. Jake scoops, aims, but Dante runs up! Jake guzels Dante! Jake clings to ropes to stop from being lifted, and Archer BOOT WASHES Eddie! Archer talks trash while he stands on Eddie, but Darius turns things around on Alexander. Darius holds on, he CHOPS Claudio, and Dante LARIATS! Darius slides in, snap suplexes, then Dante slingshot SENTONS! Garcia runs up, but into an atomic drop! Then BULLDOG KNEE SMASH COMBO! Then Claudio THROWS Eddie away! The fans fire up as Claudio then winds up, runs up, but Eddie DUMPS Claudio out! Claudio clings to ropes, Eddie URAKENS him down! Eddie ELIMINATES Claudio! But then Alexander DUMPS and ELIMINATES Eddie!! The fans boo as Alexander laughs, but it is just him and Garcia now! Alexander spots Garcia, and the fans all rally for “DANNY! DANNY!” as he stands back up.

Garcia fires up, the fans are with him, and he fires off with Alexander! They go back and forth, harder and harder, faster ‘n’ faster! Garcia ROCKS Alexander, roars, then runs, but into a BOOT! Garcia rebounds, Alexander BOOTS him again! And again! Alexander snarls while the fans boo, but Garcia guzels! Alexander breaks free, Garcia CHOPS! Garcia runs up on Alexander, and he LARIATS! Alexander stays up, Garcia goes again! Another LARIAT but Alexander is still up! The fans are thunderous as Garcia runs, but Alexander dodges! GERMAN SUPLEX! Alexander hauls Garcia up, tucks him in, PACKAGE PILEDRIVER!!

Alexander drags Garcia up, talks trash, and whips, but Garcia holds onto the ropes! Garcia dangles over the floor and Alexander is furious! Alexander throws his headgear off as he storms up on Garcia. Alexander ROCKS Garcia, ROCKS him again, and ROCKS him again! Garcia holds on with one hand, Alexander CLUBS at it! Alexander CLAWS Garcia’s face! Garcia still holds on! Alexander runs up, but Garcia catches him! Garcia drags Alexander over with a facelock! They’re on the edge, Alexander fires CHOP after CHOP! Alexander fireman’s carries, but Garcia fights free! Garcia BOOTS Alexander, but Alexander stays up!

Garcia BOOTS Alexander again, then slips back inside! The fans fire up as Garcia runs up, and he DROPKICKS Alexander down! GARCIA WINS!

Winner: Daniel Garcia ($100,000 to be donated in Andy Williams’ name)

The fans all cheer as Garcia is emotional for the love and memory of his great friend and mentor. Marina Shafir is there to celebrate and hug it out with Garcia. Garcia is handed Andy’s guitar, and he shows it off alongside a poster, “Rest In Peace Andy.” Garcia sets the poster down, kisses the guitar, and sets it down beside the poster. The fans cheer this loving tribute to The Butcher, and Garcia regroups and hugs it out with The Death Riders. The roster then gathers on stage, and we get one lass, “NEWSFLASH, SLICK! You’re all a bunch of crumbs!” We will all miss the man, and we will all cherish the memories. #ThankYouButcher.

My Thoughts:

A great episode for Collision, both paying tribute to Andy Williams and still giving us some progress in the stories. Moxley VS Bailey was a great match, and Bailey got so close to the win, but Moxley still finishing it before time was up definitely fits, he is going to have great momentum going into All Out. Very good promo with The Death Riders and Dogs, and I appreciate that Finlay & Connors want to know the allegiance of Gabe Kidd. Moxley putting The Dogs in their place felt more like The Dogs could easily just be a subsidiary of Death Riders rather than them being separate factions.

Very good match from Jay White VS Adam Priest, and very good 8 Man Tag, but I figured White would win while Pac & Dogs would on the other side. Very good Six Man Tag but of course the Rascalz were winning that. And honestly, Griff, Solo & Comoroto cosplaying as Hangman, Bandido & Brody was not expected. That was something more I’d expect The Demand to make randos do as a way of sending a message to Hangman, Bandido & Brody, in the scenario where Hangman & Brodido were still the champs. Great Six Man from Conglomeration VS Twist, with Kofi & Creed doing great on commentary. Great win for Conglomeration, but Roddy is one loss away from leaving Conglomeration again, it’s so obvious.

Mercedes Mone was good on commentary, and we got a pretty good match from Mina VS Aminata. I got a bit worried, though, with Aminata’s neck heavily taped and how there was a bit of a slow segment in the middle. Great win for Aminata, though. Very good promo from Divine Dominion to respond to the Street Fight challenge, that match is going to be great. And of course, incredibly touching testimonies from the AEW roster about Andy Williams, and we got a really good battle royal main event. Garcia winning is great on so many levels, and it’s great to see AEW helping out people with the charity donation.
