Pittsburgh cheers, “Thank You, Pac!” as Excalibur speaks. Pac was “a bastard” in name only. He was a devoted son, loving husband and dear friend. An incredible athlete, an unrelenting perfectionist, and truly many of your favorite wrestler’s favorite wrestler. But he was also humble, warm, and supportive. He may have been quiet and reserved, but if you got him talking about sausage dogs, his family, magpies, dance hall music, or the hedgehogs that visited his garden, his passion would shine. Whether you knew him as Pac, Adrian Neville, The King of the Cruiserweights, The Man Gravity Forgot, or as just Ben, he was one of a kind, and there will never be another. Surely, one day we will meet again to see the blazing races. We love and will miss Pac.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring.

Schiavone thanks Excalibur for his part, and he says everyone here in AEW is family. Not just the performers, but the behind-the-scenes people. From the men and women in the truck to the cameramen ringside. On Sunday, when they got the news about Ben, they were grief stricken, and still are. They appreciate the fans coming out tonight. Ben taught us a lot: From being great in the ring as a Bastard, but then walk through the curtain and be a wonderful human. The fans cheer that. Schiavone says what we can also learn from Ben is that we can be kind and nice and friendly. He left that impression on Schiavone and the entire AEW family.

So they honor him tonight with this AEW Dynamite. Let’s go back now to after All Out on Saturday, Jon Moxley’s emotional reaction after the main event, and what would be the last time we see Pac on screen.

The video plays, the Death Riders sat outside behind the arena. The Maniac says there’s nothing to really say but that Will Ospreay was just better tonight. That’s the best in the ring. Moxley gave everything he had, took every shot he had to the best of his ability, no regrets. Ospreay is indominable. It’s part of the game, though, you’re gonna lose. Doesn’t matter who you are, you will lose. You gotta know how to lose in wrestling, and how to lose in life. You’re gonna lose people, you’re gonna lose opportunities. You’re not always gonna get what you earned, you’re not always gonna get what you deserve, things aren’t always gonna go your way.

But what’re you gonna do? You gotta smile, get up tomorrow, and do it again, give it your best every single day, because every single day is a gift. You know what it’s like to walk out in front of a sold out crowd? Chicago, New York, Tokyo. Surrounded by friends, teammates, the great people who pay their hard-earned money just to see you do what you do. The opportunity to be out there in the ring, doing this job, the best job in the world. There is nothing better than this. Every day is a gift, and Moxley means that. Ospreay was the better man tonight, he’s the best in the ring, so congratulations. But all he has earned is more hard work!

There are two kinds of eulogies: One that says, “This is what this guy did,” and one that says, “This is who this guy was.” When Moxley’s dead, burned up, ashes in the wind, he knows which eulogy he wants to have. Moxley knows what to expect from Ospreay. No one else sees what Moxley sees! They don’t see what they have! What his place can be! What they’ve been gifted! What’s at stake! The future of pro-wrestling, their craft, what they grew up dreaming of doing. What kids all around the world, just like them, a bunch of nobodies from nowhere, growing up dreaming of doing what they’re doing right now!

They have the future of pro-wrestling in the palm of their hands. Whatever pro-wrestling is gonna be, it’s gonna be what they make it. Moxley, The Death Riders, Will Ospreay, and anybody else that’s got the guts to do what it takes to be great, to really be great. To really grab life by the balls. To take this opportunity, to take this gift, and do something with it. Moxley stands up, and The Death Riders follow suit.

The fans applaud, and Schiavone asks the fans both here in Pittsburgh and watching around the world to join in a ten bell salute for Pac. The fans fall silent and bow their heads as the bell rings out. After the tenth bell, we see the AEW roster is on stage now, all wearing the tribute shirt and applauding their fallen friend. Then The Death Riders make their entrance, and they still have Pac’s chair set up in his honor. Moxley heads out alone, ready to defend his AEW Continental Championship also in Pac’s honor. Even Pac would say the show must go on, but will Moxley’s reign go on with such a heavy heart?

AEW Continental Championship: Jon Moxley VS Orange Cassidy!

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and the spirit of The Bastard is with us!

The bell rings, the fans cheer, and Cassidy takes a moment. The fans cheer “A E DUB!” as Cassidy looks to Heaven, thinking of his old rival. The two circle, tie up, and they go around. Moxley wrenches, hammerlocks, but Cassidy reaches out. Cassidy runs around but Moxley keeps him back, only for Cassidy to use a foot for the ROPEBREAK! Moxley lets go and the two reset. They tie up, Cassidy waistlocks but Moxley wrenches to wristlock. Cassidy slips through, spins Moxley, then slips through again to WRING Moxley out! The fans cheer while Moxley gets up in a huff. The fans cheer “Both These Guys!” as the two reset.

Moxley and Cassidy tie up, Moxley headlocks, but Cassidy powers out to headlock back. Moxley wrenches out but Cassidy whips, then arm-drags Moxley. And arm-drags again! Moxley backs off and the fans cheer. The two tie up again, Moxley powers Cassidy to ropes, then CHOPS! Moxley whips, Cassidy sunset flips, TWO! Moxley has the cover, TWO! Cassidy sunsets again, TWO! Moxley sweeps to cover, ONE! Cassidy sweeps to cover, ONE! The fans cheer as we have another standoff. Moxley and Cassidy reset again, feel things out, and knuckle lock. They go shoulder to shoulder in a Test of Strength, and Moxley pushes Cassidy.

Cassidy bridges and the fans cheer. Cassidy keeps a shoulder up, but Moxley pushes him to a cover. ONE as Cassidy gets one arm up. Moxley pushes the arm back down, ONE as Cassidy gets the other arm up. Moxley powers that arm down, ONE as Cassidy bridges! Moxley brings Cassidy up, but Cassidy trips Moxley. Moxley lifts Cassidy and flips him into the REAR NAKED CHOKE! Cassidy scrambles and they go to the ropes! The fans cheer as Cassidy gets free. Moxley waits on Cassidy, saying it was that close. Cassidy comes back, circles with Moxley, and ties up. Cassidy headlocks, Moxley powers up to pry the hold open, but Cassidy clamps on tighter.

Moxley powers up and out, Cassidy RUNS Moxley over, and keeps going. Moxley ELBOWS Cassidy down! Moxley drags Cassidy up, TOSSES him out, then goes out to SMACK Cassidy off the desk! The fans are torn as Moxley flexes, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Moxley stalks Cassidy, JABS him, then JABS him again. Moxley fires body shots, knees low, then flexes. The fans applaud, and Moxley leaves Cassidy behind to go to the ring. Cassidy drags himself up, catches his breath, then considers sliding in. Cassidy thinks on it, finally rolls in, but Moxley is there to CHOP him down! Moxley drags Cassidy up, CHOPS him down again, then shakes out his hand. Cassidy sits up and clutches his stinging chest, but Moxley winds up to CHOP again! Moxley wrenches Cassidy to a wristlock and wrangles him to the mat. Cassidy clasps hands, then flails to fight around, but Moxley grabs the leg!

Moxley has Cassidy in a modified Bow ‘n’ Arrow as he bends Cassidy back! Cassidy fights, reaches out, and his other foot makes the ROEPBREAK! Moxley lets go, but he waits on Cassidy. Cassidy drags himself up but Moxley reels him in for a lift. Moxley holds Cassidy for TWENTY-FIVE, Dynamite returns to single picture, then Moxley holds a little longer before the PILEDRIVER! Cover, TWO! Cassidy survives and the fans fire up again! Moxley stalks Cassidy to a corner, then climbs up to rain down fists! Moxley goes to TEN, then whips corner to corner. Cassidy goes up and out, then ducks to SMACK Moxley off buckles! Fans count along as Cassidy goes to TEN!

Moxley staggers around, but comes back to SHOTGUN Cassidy to the floor! The fans cheer while Moxley paces. Moxley rolls out, flexes, and the fans cheer as Moxley drags Cassidy back into the ring. Cassidy rolls all the way out the other side! The fans cheer again, and Moxley smirks as he pursues. Moxley drags Cassidy up and puts him back in, but Cassidy rolls away even faster! The fans cheer as Cassidy escapes to the outside. Moxley goes out to fetch Cassidy, puts him back in, but then smirks as he goes to meet Cassidy at the other side! Cassidy sees Moxley there, so he rolls back the other way. Moxley is annoyed but he hurries back the other way.

Cassidy DIVES Moxley at the halfway point! The fans fire up as Cassidy puts Moxley in, goes up, and FLYING LARIATS! Cassidy keeps moving, ducks ‘n’ dodges to tilt-o-whirl and DDT! Cover, TWO! Moxley survives, and “This is Awesome!” as Cassidy goes to a corner. Cassidy goes up the corner, but Moxley rolls away! The fans cheer, and Cassidy nods in respect. Cassidy hops down, Moxley runs up, but Cassidy dodges! ORANGE- NO, Moxley blocks to underhook! Cassidy wrenches out, to ORANGE PUNCH! Moxley staggers, but comes back to CUTTER! The fans fire up as both men are down!

Moxley checks his chin, then sits up. He and Cassidy crawl around, rise up, and the fans rally again. Moxley snarls, but Cassidy “unleashes” a kick! Moxley is already annoyed so he fires a forearm! Cassidy “unleashes” another kick! Moxley ROCKS Cassidy, but Cassidy “unleashes” another kick! Moxley ROCKS Cassidy, eggs him on, so Cassidy winds up, and SUPERKICKS! The fans fire up as the forearms fly! They go back and forth, Cassidy fires a flurry! Cassidy ROCKS Moxley, but Moxley gets mad! Moxley comes back to “unleash” a kick! The fans fire up as Moxley toys with Cassidy. Then Moxley unleashes a “heel kick!”

Cassidy puts his hands up, then in his pockets! The fans fire up again, and Moxley says okay, two can play at that game! Moxley puts his hands up, and then flips Cassidy off! Cassidy SHOTGUNS Moxley down! The fans fire up as both men hurry to their feet, and ORANGE PUNCH! Moxley is down but Cassidy reloads! ORANGE PUNCH!! Moxley falls, but Cassidy isn’t done?! The fans are thunderous as Cassidy aims again, ORANGE VICTROY ROLL! TWO! Cassidy slips around, Moxley spins, suplex and STUN-DOG MILLIONAIRE! But Moxley stays up! REAR NAKED CHOKE! Cassidy rolls it back, ghost pins, TWO!!

Moxley is up, but Cassidy lifts first! BEACH- NO, Moxley sunset flips it! But Cassidy rolls through to PENALTY KICK! The fans fire up again as Cassidy throws off the elbow pad! Cassidy loads up again, but Moxley LARIATS! Moxley runs, runs, and BASTARD LARIATS!! Cover, TWO!! But into a BRUTALIZER!! Cassidy pushes Moxley into a cover, TWO!! Cassidy arm-drags to the roll and BRUTALIZER?!?! Moxley powers up to get his arm free, and he hooks a leg! Moxley flips Cassidy around, to CURB STOMP him down!! As the war of emotions continues, The Maniac still wins the war of the body and mind! Will nothing ever stop Moxley’s reign? WAIT! Bryan Danielson is here?! The fans cheer “YES! YES! YES!” as The American Dragon walks out here, wearing the Pac tribute shirt. Bryan may no longer be a Death Rider, but he is still Moxley’s friend, and a friend of Pac’s. As such, Bryan steps into the ring, already emotional himself, and Moxley stands back up. The fans cheer these two on, even lose their minds a bit, but Moxley grits his teeth as he paces around. Moxley looks at Bryan, the two step closer, and they hug! In this time of hurting, you GOT to let the people you love know they are loved!

Hangman Page is already red and emotional as he works up the words. He met Ben his first day on the job, and immediately found out that The Bastard was really the kindest, most welcoming and humble of people he’s ever met. Hangman loved working with Ben, and in all these years since, it felt like in the past few months that he’d gotten the closest with him. Hangman did get to tell Ben how much he appreciated, respected, and admired him. Hangman is glad he got that chance, because he does and always will.

Hangman wishes he could tell us how much Ben truly loved pro-wrestling, and not just wrestling but the people who do this, the people he’d met and worked with his whole career, and the generations that one day will stand where they are. Ben cared about everyone so much, and Hangman is going to miss him. Thank you, Ben, and goodbye.

8 Man Tag: The Elite VS The Don Callis Family!

Just like with Moxley and Bryan, times when you are hurting is when you need your friends the most. Or perhaps even your “family.” Hangman Page reunites with Kenny Omega and the NEW AEW World Tag Team Champions, The Young Bucks, to take on Kyle Fletcher, Kevin Knight, Rocky Romero & Trent Beretta. Will The Elite feel like old times? Or will #ProtoJet build momentum towards their impending tag title opportunity?

The teams sort out, only for the Don Callis Family to attack! The fans boo but Knight goes after Kenny, Rocky is after Hangman, Trent is after Nick and Kyle is after Matt! Things go outside, Knight THROWS Kenny into barriers, but Trent keeps Nick in the ring to bump off buckles. The fans boo more but Kyle puts Nick in the corner. Kyle whips Rocky in for a LARIAT! Then Kyle sends Knight in for a LARIAT! And he sends Trent in for an ELBOW! Then feed to Kyle for an ELBOW! Cover, TWO! The fans rally for The Elite but Kyle soaks up heat. Kyle kicks Nick low, wrenches and whips, but Matt tags in. Nick hurdles, then feeds Kyle to Matt’s shoulder tackle.

Matt slingshots up and over, then gives Nick the boost for a RANA! Knight tags in, runs up, but into a GUT BUSTER! Matt runs up, NECKBREAKER BACKBREAKER COMBO! The fans fire up but Trent tags in. Trent ducks elbows to SHOVE Nick into Matt, then he back suplexes Nick! Nick lands out, but Trent BOOTS Matt! Trent and Nick switch, then switch again, Matt runs up, SUNSET GERMAN! Trent tumbles but the fans fire up with The Bucks. They do their signature post, but Rocky runs in and DOUBLE RANAS! The fans boo but Rocky does his sliding taunt! Only for Hangman to storm in! Rocky’s stepped in it again…

The fans cheer as Rocky turns around to see Hangman. Rocky is spooked, but then he backs up into Kenny! Kenny wags his finger, and Rocky can’t run because The Bucks are there! Hangman CHOPS, Kenny CHOPS, repeat! Rocky blocks one but Hangman CHOPS Rocky on the back! Then Kenny & Hangman DOUBLE CHOP SANDWICH! Rocky bails out, but here comes Trent! Kenny & Hangman kick low, then whip, and they double kick again! Kenny KNEE LIFTS, Hangman BOOTS, and Kenny SLAM DUNKS! Knight gets up but Matt traps him with headscissors, then Nick DROPKICKS him down! Hangman traps Kyle and Nick DROPKICKS him, too!

The fans cheer as The Elite all set up with the Terminator kneel! The fans drum, Callis is furious, but The Elite all build speed, QUADRUPLE DIVE! The fans are thunderous for “THE! ELITE! THE THE ELITE!” They put The Don Callis Family in, and they all take a corner! “This is Awesome!” as The Elite climbs up, and they all rain down fists! All four corners go to TEN, so forty in all! Then Matt brings Trent up, Nick takes aim, BUCKLE BOMB ENZIGIRI COMBO! Then a fireman’s carry and Nick climbs up. But Kyle saves Trent to send Matt into Nick! Then SNAP HALF ‘N’ HALF for Matt! Kyle and the family blast Hangman & Kenny from the apron!

Knight goes to the UPPER ROOM to send Nick flying! Kyle sets Hangman & Kenny up, Knight springboards to DOUBLE LARIAT! Rocky goes up, Trent tucks Matt, STRONG ZERO!! Cover, Nick breaks it! Rocky TOSSES Nick, Knight THROWS him into railing, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Rocky AX HANDLES Matt, then steps outside. Kyle tags in, he soaks up the heat, then TOSSES Matt out! Kyle high-fives Trent and distracts the ref so that Knight can go after Matt! Callis gets a cheap shot in, too! And hurts his hand, the fool…  Kyle taunts the rest of The Elite, which distracts the ref, allowing Rocky to SMACK Matt off the apron! Trent sends Matt into more railing! Knight even goes after Kenny on the outside and sends him into the desk! The ref reprimands but Matt is put back in the ring. Kyle rolls him to a cover, TWO! Kyle keeps on Matt with a scoop and SLAM! Kyle tags Knight, and Kyle feeds Matt to BOOTS!

Kyle hits a FULL NELSON SLAM, and Knight adds a SLIDING SHOULDER TACKLE! ProtoJet high-fives, then Knight covers, TWO! Knight keeps Matt from The Elite, then tags Rocky. Rocky KNEE DROPS on Matt’s side, then CHOKES him on the ropes. Rocky snapmares Matt into a GROUND COBRA TWIST! Matt endures while Dynamite returns to single picture. Matt starts up the Polar Express for another NORTHERN LIGHTS! Trent runs up, but he just gets added on! DOUBLE NORTHERN LIGHTS! The fans fire up as Matt crawls past RPG Vice! Hot tag to Nick, and he DOUBLE CROSSBODIES RPG Vice down!

Nick knuckle locks and CHOPS Rocky, hurdles Trent, then SUPERKICKS! Nick goes up, up, and “LUCHA LIBRE~” FLYING RANA ARM-DRAG COMBO! But Kyle CLOBBERS Nick! Knight joins in and they stomp away in the corner! The fans boo but ProtoJet whip Nick to a corner. Nick puts Kyle on the corner, then sends Knight into him! Hot tag to Hangman! The fans fire up as The Cowboy rallies on the whole DCF! Forearms and elbows all over, then a TRIANGLE JUMP LARIAT for Kyle! Hangman TOSSES Trent, BOOTS Knight, then DOUBLE PLANCHAS RPG Vice! Hangman returns to the ring, and he catches Knight for a FALL AWAY SLAM!

The fans fire up as Hangman kips up, and Hangman runs to SHOOTING STAR! Cover, TWO! Knight survives but Hangman stays fired up. And then Kenny reaches out! Hangman tags Kenny and the fans fire up again! Kenny BLASTS RPG Vice off the apron, then drags Knight up. Knight fights free to CLAW Kenny’s face! The fans boo, the ref reprimands, but Knight stops at 4. Knight whips, Kenny reverses, but Knight goes up and over! Kenny avoids the lariat to SNAP DRAGON! Rocky runs up, cravats, but Kenny SNAP DRAGONS free! Trent runs up, into a SNAP DRAGON! Kenny then aims at Trent, BANG! V-TRI- NO! Kyle scoops to MICHINOKU DRIVER!

Matt jumps in, but Kyle blocks the kick! Kyle calls to Knight, springboard and LARIAT! Knight dodges Hangman, Rocky runs up, SLICED BREAD! Nick fires hands on Rocky & Trent, then runs, but into DOUBLE JUMP KNEES! The fans boo but RPG Vice reloads. Trent lifts, Rocky aims, but Matt YANKS Rocky down! Hangman YANKS Kyle down! “This is Awesome!” as Kenny fireman’s carries Trent. Hangman climbs up another corner, and Kenny says, “YOU! CAN’T! ESCAPE!” ROLLING SENTON, and then Kenny goes up! MOONSAULT on Trent, ARIHARA MOONSAULT on Kyle, MACHO ELBOW on Rocky and SWANTON BOMB on Knight! The fans all go wild for the aerial assault! Kenny covers Trent, TWO!?! Trent survives but the fans fire up for Kenny. Kenny reloads, aims again, BANG! V-TRIGGER misses! Trent waistlocks, Kenny switches, but Trent elbows free! Hangman BOOTS Trent back! Kenny & Hangman line it up, V-TRIGGER BUCKSHOT SANDWICH!!

It was a wild one, and The Elite hugs it out, knowing this was much more than just a match. It was cathartic in a way, but will The Elite all be able to rise back up?

Cash Wheeler is just as red and teary eyed as Hangman was earlier as he says he is going to miss Ben’s smile, the type of person he was. Not just as a wrestler, but in the world, one of the best people Cash ever met. They were all better off for having Pac, but Pac is in a better place now. Love you, Ben.

Jay White says Ben probably never realized how much he meant to the locker room and how much he meant to Jay. How highly they all thought of him. Like everyone else, Jay would watch Ben over and over, try to emulate him. Probably only at 1/16th the speed, to no prevail. But if anyone was ever in a league of their own, it was Ben. Ben was truly the perfect wrestler, the most complete professional, and the greatest man. It’s like they’re all waiting for Ben to show up to his own appreciation night. Jay White prays that God looks over Ben’s family, over his friends, and his wife. We all miss you, Ben.

Renee Paquette speaks at ringside.

She wants everyone to know, this is such a difficult night for everyone, but AEW thanks you all for being here to celebrate Pac’s life and career. At this moment, they will share a statement from the Satterley family, including wife Natalie, mom Jillian, and dad Steven.

We are completely devastated to have lost our beautiful Ben. But the love and support we have received from every corner of the globe is helping us get through these last few awful days. Whilst he will always have a legacy as one of the greatest wrestlers the UK has ever produced, we have been so glad to see so many wonderful tributes that acknowledged who Ben was as a person.

He exemplified what it meant to be a decent human being, an honorable man with principles who adored his family and his sausage dog son, Wolfie. Ben loved Newcastle United, he loved reggae and hip hop, he loved nights out dancing with his wife and friends, and spending time with his parents, who now must mourn their only child. Ben had a long and illustrious career in the business that took him all over the world. And in late 2018, he met Tony Khan, who changed his life forever. Tony’s faith in Ben was never lost on him, an he was always committed to giving the best performance he possibly could.

Ben was so happy and proud to be part of this AEW family, and to be in an encouraging and caring environment he could be at ease in. He made some wonderful friends with his time in the company. We could not be more thankful to everybody at AEW for all of their help in navigating this tragedy, they have been truly phenomenal. Tony Khan is a great man, and this business is so lucky to have someone like him.” The fans cheer, and Renee finishes with, “Thank you for lightening our load. Ricochet says it is crazy we’re even here. Because you always think you have more time, but you gotta embrace and enjoy and live every moment. Ricochet remembers, they used to live together while they were in Dragon Gate in Kobe, Japan. It was the “Sanctuary,” Dragon Gate’s dojo, and they lived in a room just big enough for a bunkbed. Ricochet’s bag slid under the bed, Ben’s was on the side, and that was it. They would spends nights and days there, and Ricochet always looked up to Ben, who he was, and how he went about life. Ben really was this inspiration. The saying is like a dad or big brother, but that was it, Ben was that big brother.

So that’s what this feels like. It feels like he lost his brother. And it’s always the good people. The ones everyone has great stories about and get together and talk positively about, and there’s not that many people in this industry where everybody can get together and talk positively about him. It’s always something funny, lighthearted, inspirational, just something. And now it sucks. But it’s been nice to see everyone share at least some memory of Ben they’ve had. Whether that’s Japan, WWE, AEW, Mexico, England, wherever. From the start of his career to now, so many people, and people who haven’t met each other, all have great stories about Ben.

There will literally never be another one like Ben, as good in or out of the ring. Ricochet knows this isn’t the last time they’ll see each other, though. The story is not over. Love you, Ben, and we all miss you so badly.

Will Ospreay VS Ricochet!

While The Aerial Assassin is still AEW World Champion, and while The One & Only would love to be going after that gold, this is not about that tonight. Two longtime rivals who also knew and loved The Bastard are going to give it their all in tribute to him, will Ospreay and Ricochet burn down the house?

Ospreay and Ricochet kneel together, forehead to forehead, and the fans cheer the sign of friendship and respect. The bell rings and the fans fire up as the two circle. Ospreay gets extra fired up and the fans join him. The two tie up, Ricochet waistlocks, and Ricochet snapmares to chinlock. Ospreay endures, fights up, and wrenches to hammerlock. Ospreay headlocks, but Ricochet powers out to cravat. Ricochet snapmares Ospreay but he handsprings through! Ospreay knees low, whips, but Ricochet reverses. Ospreay goes up and over, wheelbarrows, then arm-drags! Ricochet rolls, dodges, and rolls back to RANA, but Ospreay handsprings through again!

Ricochet sweeps to cover, ONE! Ricochet handsprings over the sweep to DROPKICK Ospreay! The fans fire up as the two stand off. Ricochet storms up to CHOP, then wrenches to whip corner to corner. Ospreay reverses, Ricochet goes up and over to handspring away. Ricochet goes up and out to dodge Ospreay, then springboards to CROSSBODY! Cover, TWO! The fans cheer again, but Ricochet stomps Ospreay. Ricochet KICKS Ospreay, UPPERCUTS, then stalks Ospreay to a corner. The United Empire is ringside to coach Ospreay up, but Ricochet CHOPS Ospreay in the corner. Ospreay fires up but Ricochet whips him corner to corner.

Ricochet runs up, but Ospreay BOOTS him! Ospreay runs up, tilt-o-whirl RANA! Ricochet tumbles out, the fans fire up, and Ospreay fires everyone up with “OI! OI! OI!” Ospreay aims to PLANCHA and down goes Ricochet! The fans cheer, and Ospreay takes a moment while Ricochet shakes out his arm. Ospreay drags Ricochet up, puts him in the ring, and hurries in. Ospreay SLAPS Ricochet’s bald head, then bumps Ricochet off buckles. Ricochet CHOPS, Ospreay CHOPS, and Ospreay SLAPS the bald head again! Ospreay whips corner to corner, runs up, but Ricochet BOOTS him back! Ricochet handsprings, ducks under, and ENZIGIRIS!

Now Ospreay tumbles out and Ricochet builds speed! Ricochet FOSBURY FLOPS and down goes Ospreay! The fans fire up and Ricochet styles his eyebrows while Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Ricochet drags Ospreay up, RAMS him into the apron, then RAMS him again! Ospreay flounders into the ring, Ricochet has The Empire move aside, and he goes up the steps. Ricochet stomps Ospreay down, but Ospreay goes to a corner. Ricochet fires body shots from all sides, even as Ospreay sits down! The ref reprimands, but Ricochet backs off. Ricochet drags Ospreay up, but Ospreay CHOPS! Ricochet CLUBS Ospreay, Ospreay CHOPS, repeat! Ricochet CHOPS, and Ospreay is stinging! Ricochet scoops to SLAM Ospreay, then SENTONS! Cover, TWO! Ospreay stumbles to the desk, but Ricochet is right after him. Ricochet UPPERCUTS Ospreay, UPPERCUTS again, then stalks Ospreay to railing. Ospreay kicks but Ricochet blocks, and he CHOPS Ospreay down! Ricochet drags Ospreay back up, brings him back around, and SMACKS him off the steel steps! Ricochet then brings Ospreay around to whip, but Ospreay reverses! Ricochet stops from hitting the railing right as Dynamite returns to single picture. Ospreay runs up, only for Ricochet to FLAPJACK him off the railing! Ospreay coughs and sputters while Ricochet climbs up the railing. Ricochet aims, 450! Ricochet rolls through as he sees Ospreay move!

Ospreay runs up, but into a SUPERKICK! Ricochet eggs The Empire on, then runs up on Ospreay, only for Ospreay to THROW Ricochet into railing! The fans fire up while Ricochet writhes and Ospreay rises. Ospreay puts Ricochet in the ring, then ROCKS him! And ROCKS him again! Ospreay fires off, then whips, but Ricochet reverses, only for Ospreay to handspring and RED DOT GAMANGIRI! The fans fire up as Ricochet falls down! Ospreay goes outside, springboards back in, PIP PIP CHEERIO! Cover, TWO! Ricochet survives, but Ospreay drags Ricochet up. Ricochet resists the lift but Ospreay fires Kawada Kicks, then a CHOP!

Ricochet wobbles while the fans “WOO~!” Ricochet CHOPS, Ospreay CHOPS, repeat! Ricochet then catches an arm to wrench, but Ospreay blocks the backside! Ospreay spins through, Ricochet spins it back, suplex, into STUN-DOG MILLIONAIRE! But then Ricochet comes back with an AX KICK! Ricochet hits an INVERTED SUPLEX, but Ospreay lands out! Ospreay handsprings again, but gets caught, only to TORNADO DDT! Cover, TWO!! Ricochet survives and shocks Ospreay! The fans fire up as Ospreay rises up, and he drags Ricochet around to underhook. Ricochet fights the lift, but Ospreay powers up to lift and- SPIKE RANA from Ricochet! Cover, TWO!!

The fans fire up as now Ricochet is shocked! Ricochet hurries to scoop and BACKBREAKER! Then STANDING SHOOTING STAR! Then Ricochet goes right to the corner, PHOENIX SPLASH a la Pac!! Cover, TWO!! Ospreay survives the tribute move and the fans fire up! “This is Awesome!” as Ricochet goes to the corner again. Ospreay anchors a leg but Ricochet kicks free. Ricochet goes up, up, but Ospreay climbs up after him! Ricochet ELBOWS Ospreay away, but Ospreay comes right back! Ospreay goes up, up, and SUPER POISON-RANAS!! But Ricochet lands on his feet?!? That’s some Ospreay level stuff!

Ricochet fires boxing elbows, a SOBAT, but Ospreay ducks the spin kick! Ricochet slides under the waistlock to SNAP GERMAN! Ospreay staggers up, he dodges Ricochet, SNAP GERMAN right back! But Ricochet ducks the buzzsaw to jump up, POISON-RANA of his own! Ricochet fires up, but Ospreay POISON-RANAS again!! Both men are down and the fans are thunderous! A standing count begins, and both men stir at 5 of 10. They rise up at 6 and Ospreay throws the first punch! Ricochet fires back, and they go back and forth. Both men stand, the fans fire up again, and the two circle. Ospreay and Ricochet literally go toe to toe as they fire more forearms!

The fans cheer Ospreay and boo Ricochet, and Ospreay gets the edge! Ospreay eggs Ricochet on, but Ricochet fires boxing elbows again! Then a SOBAT! KICK! SOBAT! Ricochet runs, but Ospreay TIGER WALL KICKS and ENZIGIRIS! The fans cheer as Ospreay runs, but Ricochet BOOTS him! Ricochet handsprings, but Ospreay pops him right up! Then drops him into a BLUE THUNDER BOMB! Cover, TWO!! The fans fire up again as Ospreay rises back up. Ospreay aims, runs up, HIDDEN- NO, Ricochet catches Ospreay into a Gory Especial, for a BACKSLIDE DRIVER! Then a deadlift for the LIGER BOMB! Cover, TWO!!

The fans fire up as Ospreay survives, but Ricochet argues with the ref. The ref defends his count, so Ricochet runs in at Ospreay! Forearm SMASH, and Ricochet pushes Ospreay out. Ricochet goes up, up, and BLINDSIDE SHOOTING STAR KICK! Another shoutout to Pac, and Ricochet goes right back up! SHOOTING STAR PRESS! Cover, TWO!! Ospreay survives, Ricochet is shocked, and The Empire is relieved. The GOA coach Ricochet, same as Andrade and The Empire coach Ospreay. Ricochet goes to a corner, he takes aim, SPIRIT- NO, Ospreay catches Ricochet, rolls him, underhooks, and then a tuck?! STYLES CLASH!! Cover, TWO?!!?

The fans fire up as Ospreay throws off the elbow pad! Ospreay aims, HIDDEN BLADE!!! But Ospreay then looks to the corner? Ospreay drags Ricochet into the drop zone and the fans chant, “Do It For Pac! Do It For Pac!” Ospreay goes up, up, and BLACK ARROW!! Cover, Ospreay wins!

Ospreay wins with Pac’s move, and Ospreay lets the emotions flow. Ospreay is happy to be a champion, happy to have won tonight, but he’s still hurting just a bit after the loss of Pac. But in the end, he and Ricochet hug it out, knowing Pac’s smiling down on them.

Will Ospreay takes his turn. After school, he and his friends would come around to his house, do wrestling moves, and would film it to put on YouTube for everyone to watch. Those videos are still there now, if you wanna see. The one guy Ospreay met, a “geezer” called Steven Farrell, used to do backyard wrestling with Pac. Seeing Ospreay do some of the same tricks and moves, Farrell would say Ospreay reminded him of Pac, the Newcastle wrestler doing pretty much the same tricks.

Finding out that this was the same Pac that was doing 1PW with guys like AJ Styles, and was over in Dragon Gate, Ospreay cannot tell you how much watching those matches gave him hope as a teenager that he could walk the same road that Pac did. So to see Pac made it over, and his legacy is spread out in so many different promotions, with a style that inspired so many people, the only thing Ospreay wanted to do was wrestle Pac. His whole career was chasing Pac. They met in the ring in 2019. The person behind the character was such a wonderful human being. For playing such a horrible bastard, Ben was the loveliest person.

Ospreay’s gonna miss seeing Ben’s face, seeing his sausage dog wearing one of his many hats, but most importantly, Ospreay will miss spending talking so long with Ben, learning from him, and seeing what he gave so many people, which was happiness. Ospreay hopes he does Pac justice. Ospreay loves him, misses him, and thanks him for everything he has done for Ospreay and countless others.

Six Woman Tag: Mercedes Mone, Britt Baker & Persephone VS Thunder Rosa, Hyan & Marina Shafir!

While this might be a homecoming to #Brittsburgh, this is bigger than that. The CEO, The DMD & The Goddess take on La Mera Mera, The Renaissance Woman & The Problem, and emotions are running high. Will Mone, Britt & Persephone prove why they’re the top of AEW? Or will Rosa, Hyan & Shafir tear ’em down?

The trios sort out and Hyan starts against Perse. Perse and Hyan circle, tie up, and are in a deadlock. They go around, Perse headlocks, but Hyan rolls her away. Perse comes back but Hyan sweeps to cover, ONE! Perse trips Hyan to cover, ONE! Hyan headlocks, Perse powers up and out, and they RAM shoulders! The fans cheer while Perse wags her finger. The two go again, Hyan dodges to BOOT Perse down! The fans fire up as Hyan brings Perse up, then tags in Rosa. They double whip Perse, double ELBOW her down, then Hyan drops the leg, brother! Rosa basement DROPKICKS! High stack, TWO!

Rosa whips Perse but Perse reverses, only for Rosa to tilt-o-whirl RANA! The fans rally as Rosa keeps moving, and she sunset flips. Perse rolls through to DROPKICK! Cover, ONE!! Perse drags Rosa up, tags Britt, and the fans cheer. Perse feeds Rosa to Britt’s BUCKLE SHOT! Britt fires forearms on Rosa, but the ref counts. Britt stops, tags Perse, and they hoists Rosa up top. Perse DOUBLE CHOPS Rosa on the back, then has her in the crucifix! But Hyan saves Rosa, and they DOUBLE DROPKICK! The fans fire up as Marina tags in! Marina BOOTS Mone, ELBOWS Britt, then tells her team to step up with her.

The fans fire up again as Marina has Perse on the ropes. Hyan & Rosa WRECK Britt & Mone with dropkicks! Marina runs to 619 HEADCISSOR SPIKE Perse! The fans are thunderous as Marina and team are all fired up, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Marina drags Perse up to CHOP her! Marina stalks Perse while the others go back to the corners. Marina KICKS Perse in the butt, then pushes her in the ring. Marina storms in, brings Perse up and clamps on a facelock. Perse fires body shots but Marina KNEES her down! Cover, TWO! Marina wrenches Perse again and again, then UPPERCUTS the arm! Then CLUBS it! Then UPPERCUTS again! Marina CHOPS Perse, but Perse CHOPS back! Marina eggs Perse on, so Perse CHOPS again and again! Marina blocks, then arm-drags Perse! Rosa wrenches to CLUB Perse’s arm, and CLUB it again, and again! Rosa wrenches, but Perse YANKS her into the corner! Tag to Britt and she argues with Aubrey so Mone can get cheap shots in! Britt then stomps away on Rosa, but the ref reprimands. Perse gets her shots in now! Britt drags Rosa up, brings her around, and ROCKS her! And full nelsons! Rosa fights free but Britt snapmares her into a chinlock. Britt clamps onto an arm, too, but Rosa endures. Britt pushes Rosa down, around, and brings her over to bump off buckles. Britt tags Mone and she SWINGING DROPKICKS! Mone drags Rosa to a cover, TWO!

Dynamite returns to single picture as Mone taunts Rosa to go tag Marina and/or Hyan. Mone then clamps onto Rosa, KNEES her in the back again and again, then runs to METEORA! Cover, TWO! Marina and Mone argue, then Mone drags Rosa up. Mone tags Perse, they mug Rosa, and Rosa crawls. Perse taunts Marina & Hyan, then steps on Rosa. The ref counts, Perse steps off to talk more trash then she stomps Rosa. Cover, TWO! Rosa toughs it out but Perse clamps onto Rosa with a chinlock. Rosa endures, Perse whpis her to the corner, and Perse tags Mone. Mone digs her boot into Rosa, but backs off as the ref counts.

Mone taunts Marina, but that just lets Britt CHOKE Rosa! Mone runs up, but Rosa BOOTS Mone, and she BLASTS Britt! DOUBLE LARIATS take both Mone and Rosa down! The fans fire up as both women crawl, but Mone tries to anchor Rosa. Rosa BOOTS Mone away, hot tag to Marina! Marina dodges Mone to THRUST KICK! ANd ROUNDHOUSE! Maina underhooks to lift Mone, for a TIGER BUSTER! Marina fires up, but Mone BOOTS back! Marina just gets fired up again! Mone BOOTS Marina, but Marina wants more! Mone fires furious forearms but Marina shoves her. Mone runs up, but Marina dodges, SNAP GERMAN!

Mone flounders, Marina reels her in, snap suplex! Marina then clamps on with MOTHER’S MILK!! But Perse CLOOBBERS Marina! And she BLASTS Hyan! Perse runs up, but Marina dodges to SNAP GERMAN Perse! Britt tags in, ducks ‘n’ dodges, and SLINGBLADES! But Hyan kicks Britt to suplex and FALCON ARROW! Mone gives Hyan a BACKSTABBER! Rosa SHOTGUN KNEES Mone! Rosa runs up on Perse, but Perse goes Matrix to dodge, then SUPERKICKS! Perse fires up, but Marina is back to KICK her! And CHOP Britt! Perse SPEARS Marina down! Britt gets up, CURB STOMP! Britt then brings out the glove!

Moxley is ringside to coach Marina up, but Britt spells it out, “D! M! D!” Britt clamps onto Marina, RINGS OF SATURN! But Hyan YANKS Perse out, and Rosa DECKS her! And Marina powers up to lift Britt off the mat! The fans fire up for the swing into the SAYANAGI! And then a BRUTALIZER!! BRITT TAPS, MARINA’S TEAM WINS!

Another great shoutout to The Bastard in victory! The Death Riders were closest to Pac, it hurts the most for them. But can they turn that pain into power as AEW moves into October?

Swerve Strickland says his first time meeting the man that is known as Pac wasn’t really a formal introduction, it was just Swerve being at a Dragon Gate show in Philadelphia. Swerve has always marveled at that man, and he always appreciated not just the athleticism but the perfectionist Pac was in the ring. How everything was so meticulously calculated, and all his movements were so intent. Then fast-forward to Swerve being in AEW and actually getting to know Ben. Ben was quiet, but he would speak with something important to say, and that was something you needed that day. You didn’t know what you were looking for to motivate you, but Ben would provide that.

Swerve misses Ben already. It’s only been three or four days removed, Swerve still misses him. Swerve hopes Ben knows he was loved and cared for by everyone, not just here in AEW but in the pro-wrestling world.

Darby Allin says when you think of a pro-wrestler that was dedicated to the craft, Darby always thought of Ben. Sometimes you wonder why someone is in pro-wrestling. Is it fame? Money? For Ben, it was for the love of pro-wrestling. Then hearing the news, Darby started watching the old clips. Them fighting on a golf course, Pac throwing Darby down through the flaming table. It’s funny now because when they were having the golf course show, Darby thought they were just gonna show up and Ben would say no shenanigans, no silly stuff, keep it in the ring. But instead, Pac’s the one playing in the sand trap with him, coming up with fun spots.

Darby loves Ben, and thanks him for all the crazy moments they got to share. Maybe in the next life, there’ll be a golf course or some other crazy thing they can fight on. Until then, Darby loves you.

10 Man Tag: The Death Riders VS The Don Callis Family!

A little last minute, but a very fitting battle as now Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia & Gabe Kidd are set to face Josh Alexander, Jake Doyle, Mark Davis, Lance Archer and… WARDLOW?! We knew The War Machine was making his comeback, but to think he’d join that Jackal. But as Moxley joins commentary, who is the fifth man for The Death Riders? Callis and his collection of giants wonder that, too. Moxley says sorry, but it is live TV, maybe things just work out a certain way. Wait, the Death Rider song plays again, and then it transitions into the Flight of the Valkyries! The American Dragon is getting back in the ring?!?

The fans go nuts, and “YES! YES! YES!” Bryan Danielson is back in his ring gear! Maybe he IS a Death Rider after all! A brawl breaks out right away, and Bryan goes after Wardlow! The fans are thunderous as everyone has a corner, but things then spill out of the ring! Wardlow turns things around on Bryan while the other eight brawl outside! Claudio helps get Bryan outta there, then Claudio goes after Wardlow! Those two start as the bell finally rings! Wardlow CHOKES Claudio on the ropes while Bryan & Gabe mug the Murderhawk Monster! Gabe fires body shots, then he and Bryan whip Archer into barriers!

Claudio UPPERCUTS Wardlow down, and Bryan DROPKICKS Archer against barriers! Yuta and Jake Doyle tag in, they brawl, and Claudio AX HANDLES Wardlow! And BOOTS Alexander! Yuta RAMS Jake but Jake doesn’t budge! Jake scoops, Yuta slips free, and Yuta DROPKICKS Jake! Then basement DROPKICKS! Garcia fires off on Archer, Claudio and Gabe join in! Bryan KICKS away on Alexander, “YES! YES! YES!” Bryan HEADBUTTS Alexander, but Davis CLOBBERS Bryan! Yuta tags Garcia, and the Dark Horses CHOP and KICK away on Jake! The fans boo but DCF BLASTS the Death Riders out of the ring! Wardlow tags in, and he fireman’s carries Yuta! SAMOAN DRIVER! Wardlow fires up, the fans are torn, but Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Yuta crawls, reaches out, but Alexander anchors him. Alexander CHOP BLOCKS Yuta, then tags Davis. They mug Yuta, then Davis scoops and SLAMS for a SENTON! Kneeling cover, TWO! Davis is taking Yuta a little too easy, but then he suplexes high and hard! Tag to Jake, he shoves Yuta to then DECK him! Jake drags Yuta over, tags Archer, and archer spins Yuta around to CLAW Yuta’s eyes! Archer CLUBS away on Yuta’s chest, then CLUBS him down! Archer stands Yuta up but Yuta fires forearms! Archer eggs Yuta on, the shots keep going, and Yuta backs Arche down! Until Archer DECKS Y uta again!

Archer tags Davis, he soaks up heat, but Yuta fires CHOPS on Davis! CHOP, CHOP, CHOP, but Davis scoops to hit SNAKE EYES! Davis then brings Yuta around to DECK him! Davis stomps away on Yuta, then tags Archer. Archer BOOTS Yuta! Archer taunts the Death Riders, drags Yuta over, and he tags Davis back in. Dynamite returns to single picture as the fans rally up. Davis & Archer stand Yuta up, but Yuta BOOTS Archer, and FLYING-MARES Davis! Yuta hurries, but he’s caught by both big men! They RAM Yuta into a corner! Davis & Archer BLAST The Death Riders! Archer runs up, but Yuta SUPERKICKS!

Yuta slips to the outside to dodge Davis, then he goes up to MISSILE DROPKICK! The fans fire up and chant “YES! YES! YES!” Yuta and Davis crawl, hot tags to Bryan and Alexander! Bryan dodges to DROPKICK the rest, and he fires of hands! The fans fire up, “YES! YES! YES!” Bryan whips, Alexander reverses, but Bryan goes up and over! Bryan keeps on moving, he ducks ‘n’ dodges, and LEAPING LARIATS! The fans are thunderous, and Bryan says these are for Pac! Bryan KICKS again and again, “YES! YES! YES!” Then Bryan winds up, but Alexander ducks! Alexander then trips Bryan and has the ANKLE LOCK!!

The fans boo but Bryan endures! Bryan rolls, reels Alexander in, and has the LEBELL LOCK!! The fans are thunderous, but Jake stomps Bryan! Jake DECKS Bryan, too! And once again, this one was for Pac! Bryan joins in the Death Rider rugby circle, and everyone hugs it out. #ThankYouPac, thank you Ben. You may be The Man Gravity Forgot, but we will always remember you.

My Thoughts:

This one really hit hard. We only just lost “The Butcher,” Andy Williams, and Pac himself was there to share his love and appreciation for that man, and now everyone does the same for him. Even more than with the Andy Williams tribute show, AEW put most of the kayfabe and story progress aside to give us high quality matches. I appreciate them modifying the planned tag match into a Six Woman Tag match so that Marina and Mone could be part of it, and kudos to Mone competing while still worried about her broken nose. A little surprised we had a championship match, but I suppose that adds just a little something to Moxley and Cassidy going so hard on behalf of Pac.

Seeing The Elite back together for tonight was great, they’ve still got great chemistry. Bryan Danielson returning tonight hit so hard, too, because while it was him making kayfabe amends with Moxley, it meant so much for these real-life friends to hug it out on TV. Then what a great surprise to have Bryan join in on that surprise 10 Man Tag, that was a very fun main event. All the move shoutouts tonight were great, too, especially Ricochet pulling off the Shooting Star Kick and Ospreay hitting Black Arrow. I didn’t get it in the Play By Play but that final video and final shot of the Death Riders around the chair, that was the perfect ending to the episode, nothing more needed to be said.
