MY THOUGHTS

Ryan Katz continues to be a great addition to the cast with his ring announcing energy. Not sure why he didn’t get to do the second episode… Very good match from Laynie VS Vasa, great win for Laynie for her Evolve comeback. Good promo from Gianna Capri, but not sure why we waited this long to get this from her. It should’ve been like week two or three for her, but her talking trash on Anya Rune was a given. Very good match from Starboy VS Kale, and we finally get “Alix Brooks” officially named on air. Naturally, Alix is a difference maker, but a fitting Heel win for Kale.

Great to see Layla Diggs back in action, and a very good match between her and Zena. Zena being a bit sneaky to win goes with that slow burn Heel turn I’ve been sensing. But given Laynie, Wren and Skylar are all Faces, there needed to be a Heel in the Fatal 4 Way, so that’s where Zena fits in. Good promos from Brooks Jensen and Elijah Holyfield to hype up the Lumberjack match, and the Lumberjack match itself was a good opportunity for a lot of guys to have screen time, aka they get paid. It was clearly recorded at a different time than the start of the episode since Cappuccino Jones was in different clothes.

Good character stuff where Jensen’s the one who had to worry more about the lumberjacks because of how obnoxious Jensen has been. Very good match overall, and the lumberjacks brawling was a pretty classic move. Sam Holloway as ace in the hole was a great twist, and I really appreciate Elijah essentially winning by knockout with that uppercut.

Good promo from Harlem Lewis with Harley Riggins, they got pretty saucy for Tubi, and good brawl to follow. Then there was chaos backstage as Mog Squad mugged the returning Aaron Rourke, “ruining” his return, good Heel heat for them. Naturally, Riggins was in the Men’s Fatal 4, and I suppose by momentum they’ve had before, Max Abrams, Cutler James and It’s Gal were good choices. The Fatal 4 Ways dominating the second episode was a good move, no need for filler or tune-ups with this much action to get to. The ladies getting to main event is great, too, goes hand in hand with NXT having the strongest women’s division right now.

Decent promo from Sloane and Lyons, and then them bullying Anya Rune to set her up for Gianna & Veronica was certainly interesting. Good promo from Zena explaining her Heel turn, and good group promo from the WWE ID OG to call out Mog Squad for a rematch. Thatcher making it a team gauntlet is some good stuff, calls back to ID OGs VS Team PC. Kind of an odd promo from Max Abrams to not only get Heel heat over good looks and narcissism, but to also switch it up and have CJ Valor in the match. Great showings for everyone, and I had a feeling this is where Vanta the Unknown would finally show up. Her screwing over Laynie clearly sets up Vanta’s first feud.

Great wins for Cutler and Skylar, but I’m thinking Cutler is just being fed to Harlem. Maybe Skylar loses to Lyons, maybe she pulls out an underdog win, it really depends on the plans for Lyons on main roster.

My Scores:
