The fans boo Cody, and Orton says less than a week ago, SNME, in front of Cody’s friends, family, mother, and wife, Cody showed the entire world exactly who he is. Cody showed he is exactly who Orton has always known him to be.

Cody Rhodes is no killer, Cody is a “good man.” He’s a good father, a good husband, and a good friend. It takes a lot to put down a legend. Take it from somebody who made a name for himself by systematically killing legends, it takes a piece of your soul. And one thing is a fact, and that is that Cody’s soul is not for sale. Cody Rhodes is no killer. But Orton is. Orton doesn’t care, he doesn’t give a rat’s ass, if no one perceives him as a good person or not. It means nothing to him! He’ll make it perfectly clear: Anyone that comes between him and his fifteenth world championship, he will not hesitate to pull the trigger and empty the clip!

Chelsea says she’s so glad Tiff is here, and Tiff says of course! She wasn’t going to miss Chelsea’s first defense! Plus, tonight, she’ll be in Chelsea’s corner so Lash can’t get involved.

The besties girl squeal, then focus. Chelsea’s got this. But first, lip gloss! Chelsea heads out, and Tiff is certainly excited, but will The Hot Mess be able to survive the Irresistible Force? Or will there be a new champion crowned tonight?

The bell rings and the fans fire up behind Fenix as he circles with Ricky. They tie up, Saints waistlocks but Fenix trips him. Saints kicks Fenix, drops down, but then Fenix ducks ‘n’ dodges to RANA! Fenix knuckle locks, CHOPS, then goes up, up, jumps around, and FLYING ARM-DRAGS! Saints tumbles, Fenix runs up and DROPKICKS! The fans fire up with Fenix while Saints staggers around. Backstage interview with Sami Zayn.

Cathy Kelley is with The Last Real Good Guy, and brings up that on the subject of title matches, Sami has been very vocal about all the challenges he’s endured just to secure a rematch. Can we get final thoughts before the main event tonight? Sami says he can feel the judgment in her tone, he knows what she and a lot of people are thinking. They all think this is just Sami making it about Sami but no, he’s said that this is so much bigger than him. This is about justice, okay? Justice! Sami was perfectly happy, it didn’t have to be him, he’d be happy if Kevin Owens had beaten CM Punk! He tried to help Kevin, handing it to Kevin on a silver platter!

But Kevin didn’t want it, so fine! Forget Kevin! Sami was perfectly happy if Johnny Gargano would’ve beat CM Punk. Sami tried to help, it didn’t work out, that’s fine. Because Sami realized, it could never have been Kevin. It could never have been Johnny. It could never be Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Gunther, Finn Balor, it HAS to be Sami! For there to be justice, it has to be by Sami’s hand! Punk stole it from him, so tonight, SAMI takes back the WWE Championship! And then Johnny Gargano & Candice LeRae step in. Gargano says he’s glad to be back, and he hugs it out with Sami.

Sami says tonight’s the night. Everything they talked about, it’s the night. Gargano says just like last week, when Sami wins, Gargano’s first in line, right? Paige VS Nikki Bella!

As she put it herself last week, this grudge isn’t about Paige losing the tag titles or about Brie getting hurt, #FearlessNikki has always been the mean girl in Paige’s WWE career. Nikki doesn’t like Paige because Paige is Paige, and this is the only way Nikki can stay relevant. But will the “Bella Army” fall apart tonight? Or will Paige be the victim of a Rack Attack?

SmackDown returns as Paige makes her entrance, Nikki already waiting in the ring. As such, Paige rushes the ring, only for “Fearless Nikki” to stay away and the ref to keep them apart. The bell rings, and now Nikki runs up! Paige dodges then comes back to THESZ PRESS! Paige rains down fists, then drags Nikki up to put her in the corner. Paige THROWS Nikki across the ring, then tells her, “You stupid b*tch!” Paige THROWS Nikki, then drags her around for a SLAP! Paige drags Nikki up, throws her down, then runs up to YAKUZA KICK! Nikki throws hands but Paige ROCKS her in return! The fans cheer as Paige THROWS Nikki into barriers! The fans cheer again as Paige steps on Nikki and goes back to the ring. Paige refreshes the count, then SMACKS Nikki off the Spanish desk. Commentary has to move aside as Paige then runs up and BOOTS Nikki down! The fans fire up, Paige SPITS on Nikki, then drags her up. Paige puts Nikki in the ring, but Nikki runs up! Paige avoids the shoulder to KNEE again and again and again! Nikki flounders out of the ring while Paige snarls. The fans cheer as Paige drags Nikki up from the apron, but Nikki trips her!

Nikki drags Paige out hard, letting Paige fall to the floor! The fans boo but Nikki stalks Paige. Nikki whips, but Paige reverses, and Nikki hits barriers! Paige mocks the Bella dance and the fans cheer. Paige drags Nikki up, brings her around, and THROWS her into the steel steps! The fans cheer as Paige does the dance again. Paige drags Nikki up and puts her in the ring, and Nikki scurries to a corner. Paige wants after Nikki but the ref steps in again. Paige backs off, only for Nikki to YANK her into buckles! Cathy Kelley is with Lash Legend and a star-spangled Nia Jax, bringing up Chelsea Green dealing with injuries even before Nia went after her. Is Chelsea’s condition going to factor into Nia’s opportunity tonight? Nia says Chelsea wins, then gets hurt immediately, so she never should’ve been champion in the first place. Her reign is a travesty, that mask is abysmal, and y’know what? Nia may be known for making careers by breaking faces, but now she’s going to end Chelsea’s career. Lash says since Chelsea always needs help, Tiffy better not have any smart ideas, because Lash has smarter ones, like breaking Tiff’s legs.

The Irresistible Forces snap snap then head out, but will they really be the ones to break Chelsea Green? Or will The Hot Mess prove it’s not about her face, but about her heart?

Mexico City is ready to “Whoop Dat Trick!” as the NEW, TWO-TIME WWE United States Champion makes his way to the ring. Trick is even gifted a soccer ball souvenir! Trick brings the ball to the ring, stands on the corner, then grabs the mic, “WOO-OOH~!” The fans cheer, and Trick looks to the soccer ball. “Reporting to you live, the sexiest and most entertaining superstar alive, Trick Williams, has finally arrived!” The fans cheer that! Trick says for all those at home watching on USA Network or Netflix, in case you aren’t sure what the beautiful people of Mexico are saying… They’re saying, “Quinones!”

The fans chant it again, and Trick says yes, okay, he’s got them. If he’s not mistaken, Quinones is the best football (soccer) player Mexico has to offer. The fans cheer that! Trick says just like he is the best superstar that SmackDown has to offer! The fans also cheer that, and Trick picks up the ball. He says just like Quinones kicks balls into the goal, at Sunday Night’s Main Event, Trick was in the ring with Baron Corbin. And Trick took Corbin’s head, he smacked it up and down a few times, and then he kicked his ass all night long! Trick then kicks the ball into the crowd! The fans cheer, and Trick says that’s why he’s Tricky Two Times.

With Money in the Bank around the corner, Trick might have to change his name from Tricky Two Times to Trick Two Titles! But we’ll worry about that another day. As for tonight, here’s a special shoutout to his boy who survived the five minutes. Without him, Trick wouldn’t have gotten the title shot. So ladies and gentlemen, he brings too you, Lil’ Yachty! The fans cheer as Yachty, but wait, no, he’s such a diva. Yachty wins one match and we gotta say it just right. Drum roll please. The fans clap for the drum roll, and Trick says ladies and gentlemen, the Five Minute Man, The Boat, the self-proclaimed greatest man alive, it’s LIL’ YACHTY!

The music hits again, but uh, Yachty still isn’t coming out…? Until Corbin drags him out! The fans boo, Trick runs up, but Corbin runs away! Trick is furious, but Corbin gets away with it! Trick checks Yachty, but Corbin comes back! Trick Stick SMACK! The fans boo as Corbin knocks Trick down and says if you think that hurts, just wait! They ain’t done! Finn Balor talks with Nick Aldis.

The Prince says he’s gotta admit, he would not take Aldis’ job for one second. It’s been chaos all over, and now Randy is after number 15. When it comes to the WWE Championship and who’s up next, Finn means what he said: The line starts with him. Whoever comes out on top, just said the word, because he’s ready. Aldis says he understands, but he needs Finn to understand, what’s next is Money in the Bank. Danhausen pops in and asks if they said something about human moneys in a bank. Aldis says he’ll explain later. Danhausen steps back out, and Aldis knows Finn knows the briefcase is a game changer.

Gunther storms in but Aldis asks how many times do they have to go over this. Gunther barged in again, on a private conversation. Gunther says that’s because Aldis keeps putting people in an awkward position. And especially this guy! Gunther wants them to be honest: Finn peaked ten years ago. If Finn had any decency, he would’ve hung up the boots years ago. Maybe it takes someone to beat it into him for him to see it. Gunther leaves, Aldis apologizes, Finn says don’t worry, Gunther’s a whiny b*tch, we’ve heard it before. Gunther storms back in, asking what Finn just said! Gunther grabs Finn, Finn DECKS Gunther!

Aldis ushers Finn out, Gunther says alright then! Danhausen peeks in, but then decides to pop back out. If everyone is after the title, will everyone then be after the MITB briefcase?

Cathy Kelley is with the Undisputed WWE Champion, and she notes that Sami Zayn has badgered his way into this rematch for the title. Why give him this? Punk says sometimes you have to “reward” bad behavior so that bad behavior can be taught a lesson. Sami needs to learn that when you’re champion, it’s like you’ve won the idiot lottery. Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, they’re part of the problem, but there’s also Gunther and Finn Balor. All eyes are on the champion.

But if you think Punk came to Mexico City, where some of the greatest pro-wrestling fans reside, just to lose this title to a guy who broke his hand jerking it to his own nine-day reign, you’ve got another thing coming. The air is rarified here, we are at elevation of 8,000 FEET, and the air is ever rarer when you’re champion standing on top of the world. And it’ll feel even thinner when Punk lifts Sami up and drops his ugly head onto his knee to shatter his face, so that hopefully we can wire that mouth shut so that we never have to hear the excuses that are thinner than the air here when Sami tries to explain why he lost again!

And then Sami will understand why this is CM Punk, why he is undisputed, why he is champion. Best in the World, Mexico City, CM Punk. He is CM Punk and he has approved this message. Cathy wishes him luck, he thanks her for that, but will Punk be unstoppable? Or will Sami find a way to exact his brand of justice tonight?

Erik & Ivar took offense to the fact that they weren’t included in the WWE Tag Team Championship match in which Damian Priest & R-Truth lost the titles to MFT. But now, Priest & Truth look to humble the Raiders by taking their titles in return! Will it be Wepa Up in Mexico City? Or will the raid roll through TripleMania weekend?

SmackDown returns as The War Raiders make their entrance, Truth & Priest already waiting in the ring. The introductions are made, the belts are raised, and we see who rains over AAA!

The teams sort out and The Raiders just CLOBBER Priest & Truth! They knock Priest out of the ring, then Erik picks Ivar up, SPINEBUSTER HIP ATTACK COMBO on Truth! Erik then FLYING FOREARMS Priest down! Ivar goes up, VIKING SPLASH! Cover, TWO! Truth survives but Ivar stalks him to ropes. Tag to Erik, they get Truth up and mug him with forearms and body shots! The fans boo, the ref reprimands, but Erik winds up to ROCK Truth! Erik RAMS into Truth, Ivar tags in, and Erik RAMS Truth again! Erik sends Truth to Ivar for a LARIAT! Cover, TWO! They get Truth his sombrero! The fans cheer, but then Priest LARIATS Truth down! The fans boo, but we should’ve known this was bound to happen. Truth asks why, but Priest brings down the straps! And he guzels Truth, to send him SOUTH OF HEAVEN, on the sombrero!

The fans tell Priest off, but Priest just sighs. Priest leaves Truth behind, will he only fight for himself now?

Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss walk ‘n’ talk backstage.

The Queen is annoyed over the loss at Sunday Night’s Main Event, but Lil’ Miss Bliss says they just have to work on teamwork. Charlotte says well, they don’t have anything to work on, it’s that they added Tatum as their third. Fatal Influence laughs as they walk in, and Lainey Reid says Charlotte ain’t wrong. And they hate to be the ones to break it to Alexa, but she has more to work on than she thinks. Fallon Henley says the fact Alexa & Tatum just let Charlotte get beat by Jade like that… Oof! Embarrassing! Alexa tells them to shut it, and Charlotte asks if there’s a problem here. They’re not in the mood tonight.

Jacy says she sees that. But the mood only gets worse, because with Money in the Bank around the corner, that briefcase, the contract, and the title are- Tatum pops in! She says they’re all so funny, because in case anyone forgot, Tatum & Charlotte beat Fatal Influence. So if Tatum was them, hang onto those titles really, really tight! Charlotte has Tatum stop there. She knows she can trust Lexi, but can she trust Tatum? What happened on Sunday better just be a rookie mistake. Tatum tries to explain but Alexa has her stop. Backstage interview with Rey Fenix.

Cathy Kelley is with the AAA World Cruiserweight Champion, and she says this isn’t just a big weekend for him, but also for his brother, Penta. Penta has the biggest opportunity of his career facing Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on Monday Night Raw. What would that win mean to their family? Fenix says it means a lot! This weekend is a big deal, because tonight, Fenix had a great win. And on Sunday, he defends it again at TripleMania. Then on Monday, his brother becomes WWE World Heavyweight Champion! But in steps Ricky Saints.

Saints says chill, he’s just here to apologize. He hates losing, but he shouldn’t have stormed off like that. So… Fenix was the better man. Saints offers a handshake, Fenix accepts it. Saints heads out, could he be turning over a new leaf? NOPE, because he comes back to attack! He CLOBBERS Fenix into road cases, then THROWS Fenix into the garage door! Saints tells Fenix that tonight, Saints is the better man! Saints leaves for real, but will he be back to take more than just that title from Fenix?

Undisputed WWE Championship: CM Punk VS Sami Zayn!

The Second City Saint said it himself: When opportunities fall into your lap, you gotta take ’em. That’s how he got this title off The Last Real Good Guy in Chicago, and it’s bothered Sami ever since. But now, after ranting, raving, complaining, and even costing others their opportunities, Sami gets his rematch. But will there be #Justice4Sami tonight? Or will he just have new excuses for why he couldn’t get it done?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see who is truly the Best in the World!

The bell rings and the two start throwing hands! The fans cheer as Punk gets the edge, then rains down fists in a corner! Punk goes all the way to DIEZ, then hops down. Punk shakes out a foot before he builds speed and DIVES! Down goes Sami and the fans fire up as Punk stands tall, all while SmackDown goes picture in picture.

Punk revels in the cheers, then he hops down. Punk KICKS Sami, shakes out his leg, then puts Sami in the ring. Sami stomps Punk again and again and again, but the ref counts. Sami backs off but Punk kicks and CHOPS! And CHOPS! Punk wrenches, YANKS Sami’s bad arm, then fires hands in the corner. Punk CHOPS again, then stalks Sami to another corner. Sami kicks low, RAMS Punk into the corner again and again, but the ref counts. Sami stops to CHOP, then he snarls as he hears the fans. Punk CHOPS back, then snap suplexes! The fans cheer as Punk storms around. Punk then drags Sami by the bad arm, but Sami gets free.

Sami goes to a corner, Punk kicks low, then Punk whips corner to corner hard! Sami flounders in the corner, but the ref keeps Punk back. punk waits while the ref checks Sami, and Sami is able to continue. Punk stands Sami up, whips, but Sami reverses. Sami runs up to LARIAT! Punk sputters, but Sami ELBOWS him in the head! Sami then clamps on a chinlock to grind Punk down. Punk endures, fights up, and they go to a corner. Sami winds up to CHOP, then he climbs up. Sami eggs on the fans taunting him, then he rains down fists! But Punk stops Sami before ten and hits an atomic drop! Then another atomic drop!

Sami staggers, Punk brings him around, and turns him for a NECKBREAKER! Punk is up, the fans cheer him on, and Punk checks his pulse. Punk brings Sami up, CHOPS him again, and SmackDown returns to single picture. Sami and Punk trade shots, Punk fires a flurry, then Punk whips. Kitchen sink KNEE! But Punk falls over, too, his knee bothering him. Punk stands, but he falls right back down! Sami notices that and he hurries after Punk. The ref has Sami stay back, and Punk goes to the apron. The fans rally for Punk while Sami waits. Punk says he’s fine, so Sami goes out the side! Sami CHOP BLOCKS Punk!

The fans boo, the ref reprimands, but Sami drags Punk to the corner! Sami THROWS the leg into the post, then THROWS it again! The ref reprimands, the fans tell Sami off, but Sami storms in after Punk. Sami CLUBS Punk, stomps the leg, then pulls the kneepad down so Sami can punch away right on the joint! The ref reprimands, Sami stops, and Punk flounders to another corner. Sami stalks Punk, stomps him down, but the ref reprimands. Sami gets in the ref’s face, the ref warns him, and the fans tell Sami off. Punk hobbles, manages to kick, but he falls back down! Sami drags Punk up, but Punk ROCKS Sami! And ROCKS him again!

The fans rally as Punk CHOPS, but Sami goes for a leg! Punk dodges, DECKS Sami, then DECKS him again! Punk hits a SWINGING NECKBREAKER! The fans fire up as Punk hobbles his way over. Sami pleads with Punk, but Punk SLAMS the bad hand off the mat! And SLAMS it off the mat again! And again! Punk stands on the bad hand, and STOMPS it! Now Punk is peeling at the brace! The ref reprimands but the fans cheer Punk on! Punk can’t get the brace off, so he says time for bed! Fireman’s carry, GO TO- NO, Sami blocks the knee! Sami trips Punk and steps through for a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK!

The fans boo as Punk endures! Punk keeps his shoulders up as he reaches out for ropes! The fans rally harder, and they roll, roll, roll, into the ROPEBREAK! Sami lets go in frustration, then has to throw his brace off, all while SmackDown goes picture in picture.

The ref checks Sami’s hand while Punk crawls to the ropes. Sami unwraps his bad hand a bit more, then he and Punk throw forearms again! Punk bends the bad fingers but Sami kicks the bad leg! Punk YANKS the bad arm, Sami KICKS the bad leg! Sami KICKS and KICKS but Punk KICKS in return! He KICKS the hand! Punk wrenches, but Sami ROCKS Punk, CHOPS him, then CHOPS again! Sami ROCKS Punk, ROCKS him, then taunts Punk before he CHOPS! Sami eggs Punk on, gets right in his face, then whips. Punk reverses to ROUNDHOUSE! Both men fall and the fans applaud. Punk clutches the bad knee, but he still sits up.

Punk rises, he hobbles over, and he goes to the corner. Sami is still down, so Punk climbs up. Punk reaches the top, catches his breath, and takes aim, but Sami gets up! Sami trips Punk up! Punk falls onto the corner, and Sami is right up after him! Sami goes to the very top with Punk for a SUPER DUPER PLEX! Both men are down as SmackDown returns to single picture! The fans rally up, “Esta Lucha!” while Sami undoes more of his wrist tape. Sami drags Punk around with his good hand, but Punk RAMS him into a corner! Punk SHINING WIZARDS point-blank! Then he headlocks for the- NO, Sami powers out, and Punk collapses!

Sami hurries to get Punk up, BLUE- NO, the bad hand won’t let Sami lift! The fans rally for Punk as he and Sami both stand up, bump into each other, and then Punk fireman’s carries! Sami slips free, shoves Punk at the ref, then BLUE THUNDER BOMB! Cover, TWO!! Punk survives and Sami is beside himself! The fans rally as hard as they can for Punk, but Sami drags him up. Punk bends the bad fingers! Sami gets free, Punk storms up, but Sami clinches, BUCKLE EXPLODER! The fans boo as Sami goes to the far corner. Sami soaks up that heat, runs corner to corner, and HELLU- LARIAT! And then a fireman’s carry! GO TO SLEEP!!

But the bad knee won’t let Punk cover! The fans rally as hard as they can and Punk crawls over, covers, TWO!! Sami survives thanks to the delay! Punk vows to end this, and he says night-night again! Punk drags Sami up, but here come Gargano & Candice! Gargano distracts Punk on one end, and Sami rolls Punk up! TWO!! Sami staggers, but he trips Punk, steps through, FIGURE FOUR! Punk shouts in agony as he endures again! The fans rally for Punk while Gargano & Candice cheer Sami. Punk grabs Sami’s hand, drags him around, but Candice distracts from the ANACONDA VICE!! Sami TAPS, but the ref doesn’t see it!

Punk lets go in frustration, and Gargano slips in with the belt!! Punk turns around, but he dodges the belt shot! Fireman’s carry on Gargano, GO TO SLEEP!! But that just hurts the bad knee! The ref stops arguing with Candice, and he sees Gargano! Gargano’s planking again?! The ref does his best to get Gargano out of the ring, but then KEVIN OWENS sneaks in! Kevin grabs the belt before Sami can! The fans fire up as Kevin winds up, but Sami ducks! BELT SHOT on Punk!! The fans freak out, but Kevin isn’t really that upset. But then Sami LOW BLOWS Kevin!! Sami hides the belt, then sees Punk in the corner!

Sami reloads, runs up on Punk, HELLUVA KICK!!! Punk falls, Sami covers, SAMI WINS?!?!?

Winner: Sami Zayn, by pinfall (NEW Undisputed WWE Champion)

Mexico City doesn’t like it, but we all have to accept this is real! It was wild and controversial, but Sami has his “justice” by becoming a TWO-TIME WWE Champion! But will Sami only be worse the second time around?

My Thoughts:

An awesome episode for SmackDown, especially with how they made this an all title match lead-in into TripleMania while also still doing great builds in their own stories. Very good promo from Randy Orton, the fans here in Mexico like Randy more than they do Cody, but that made it hard for Orton’s Heel promo to land like it should, where he insults Cody for still being Face. Cody will surely have a response next week, and I would think that that sets up the tiebreaker. Fenix VS Saints was a very good opening match, but I figured Fenix would win. Saints showing up later, of course he turned showing respect into a trap. I feel like this foreshadows Fenix dropping the Cruiserweight title on Sunday so that he is free to feud with Saints away from the title.

Very good match from Paige VS Nikki, and I should’ve figured Nikki would cheat to win. Paige will surely want a rematch, but she might have to chase after Nikki until some special event, like Money in the Bank. Great promo from Chelsea with Aldis to emphasize the importance of her mask and eye injury, as well as Tiff to establish her as Chelsea’s backup. I almost thought that was to set Chelsea up for a Tiffy Heel Turn, but no, Tiff was a legit friend and they kept the title from Nia. Good promo from Charlotte, Alexa & Tatum with Fatal Influence, and I’m sure between MITB and the tag titles, we’ll be getting interactions of these teams in the ring.

Very good tag match from War Raiders VS Wepa Up, but I figured the titles were staying put for the same reason as Fenix’s title was staying. And while they almost made it seem like the team would split amicably, they just had to have Priest turn on Truth. Priest is already kinda languishing, is this really going to help? That aside, Corbin of course ruined the celebration for Trick Yachty Gang, and that establishes the tiebreaker. Very good promo from Finn with Aldis, Gunther, and even Danhausen, and we’re all just waiting for them to give us Gunther VS Finn 1v1 so that Finn can shut Gunther up. Also, I kinda hope Danhausen gets into MITB for shenanigans.

Great promo from Sami with Gargano & Candice, and great promo from Punk calling out everyone coming after the title on SmackDown, all to hype up the main event. Awesome match from these two, and naturally, they had Gargano & Candice interfere. Kevin getting in there was great, too, and you gotta appreciate that he didn’t feel bad hitting Punk with the belt. Sami still winning out with all that chaos was awesome, mostly because I didn’t expect it. This really flips things, I wonder if Punk has a shot at MITB via qualifiers. A part of me is holding out for Armageddon Hell in a Cell with Sami, Kevin, Punk, Finn, Gunther, and the winner of Orton VS Cody 3, but that just doesn’t seem like something they’d do in modern WWE.
