This week’s episode of IMPACT Wrestling showcased the fallout from this past Sunday’s Slammiversary PPV. The show featured an X-Division Championship match in the main event where Matt Sydal cashed in his rematch clause against new champion Brian Cage in a losing effort.

This week’s show brought in 299,000 viewers this is up 8.7% from the go home show that brought in 275,000 viewers. The post Slammiversary show was ranked #124 on the Cable Top 150 while last week’s episode was ranked #125.

Tiger Shark Invasion was the #1 show this week for the 18-49 demographic bringing in 1.617 million viewers while FOX’s news show Hannity was the #1 show overall with 3.338 million viewers.

July 5th Episode: 304,000 viewers
July 12th Episode: 284,000 viewers
July 19th Episode: 275,000 viewers
July 26th Episode: 299,000 viewers (post-Slammiversary episode)

Ja’Von’s Take: Viewership is typically expected to be down for a post ppv show as their are a lot of video packages recapping the ppv but this week viewership was up from last week’s go home show. IMPACT is riding a wave of momentum right now from their best ppv to date. If I was IMPACT I would ride this momentum right to the bank. Just because ratings are up this week which is a good thing doesn’t really tell the whole story as people who don’t see the show live turn to YouTube to catch up on what they’ve missed. Let’s wait to see what the YouTube numbers are to give our final verdict for this week’s episode. Right now though IMPACT is firing on all cylinders and doing amazing things. 2018 seems to be their year right now and expect more great things from them in years to come.
