Backstage interview with Team Triple J.

Alex Marvez is with Jeff Jarrett, Karen Jarrett, Satnam Singh, Sonjay Dutt & Jay Lethal as he brings up Sonjay trying to speak with Ortiz last week after Ortiz’s loss to Mike Santana. Just what was it Sonjay was trying to talk with Ortiz about? Sonjay says he saw a man down on his luck, defeated by his former friend, and Sonjay just wanted to offer an open invitation to the hottest team in pro-wrestling today. And can you believe Ortiz said no? There’s no man who knows Eddie Kingston better than Ortiz, and he could’ve been a big help to them.

But Karen speaks up to say they don’t need Ortiz, never did! Jeff agrees with “Queen” Karen, but he appreciates that Sonjay does everything he can for this group. “But the fact of the matter is, you’re looking at the greatest faction in all of AEW, and we don’t need any help! Because one thing is certain. You’re looking at the next ROH World Heavyweight Champion!” Lethal says damn straight! And Ortiz isn’t even a factor! When Lethal cashes in his shot for the ROH World title, it will be 1v1. It will be Lethal VS Eddie, Fast VS Slow, Fit VS Fat, Technician VS Brawler, and Lethal WILL be the next ROH World Champion, you can bet on that!

Team Triple J heads out as Marvez says Lethal and Eddie are on a collision course, but then in walks Ortiz. His ears were burning just now, someone was definitely talking about him. But he’ll deal with them next week. Well, there’s a scoop for Marvez! Will “Monkey” decide to go ape on Lethal’s lackeys? Will the Mad King crush Lethal to keep his crown?

The Gunns w/ Bullet Club Gold VS Christopher Daniels & Matt Sydal!

Austin & Colten are gearing up to take the ROH World Tag Team Championships from MJF, same as Jay White has taken the belt and looks to take the title. But will the Fallen Angel & Third Eye Reborn be far from a tune-up? Or will the former tag champs have to live with a loss to the Ass Boys?

The teams sort out and Sydal starts against Austin. Fans taunt the “ASS~ BOYS~!” but Austin and Sydal circle. They approach, Sydal gets around and he KICKS and KICKS and KICKS a leg! Sydal goes for the leg, but Austin ROCKS Sydal! Austin ROCKS Sydal again, then scoops, but Sydal slips free to KICK! Tag to Daniels and they double wrench to bring Austin down. Sydal KICKS, Daniels BLINDSIDE LARIATS! Then Sydal STANDING MARIPOSAS! Daniels covers, TWO! Daniels bumps Austin off buckles, drags him up and CHOPS! And forearms! Austin BLASTS Sydal while Colten covers, TWO! Fans rally, Austin tags Colten back in, and Austin brings Cardblade out! Fans cheer Cardblade, he’s the one member of this group that isn’t a jerk. Colten CHOKES Daniels, BCG all poses together, but Colten lets off at 4.

Daniels then baits Austin in, and dodges so that the LARIAT hits Colten! Daniels then gives Austin a GERMAN SUPLEX! Fans fire up as Daniels crawls, hot tag to Sydal! Sydal slingshots to KICK Colten, he KICKS Austin, and he KICKS Austin again! Colten runs up, Sydal dodges to SUPERKICK! Sydal goes up a corner, leaps, but Colten moves so the METEORA hits Austin! Cover, Colten breaks it! Daniels JABS Colten, JABS again, and JABS again! Daniels whips, Colten reverses and Austin TOSSES Daniels out!

Sydal SPIN KNEES Colten! Austin runs up but into a schoolboy bridge! TWO, and Sydal ROUNDHOUSES Austin. Sydal whips, Austin goes up and over, and Sydal turns around, 3:10 TO YUMA!! Cover, The Gunns win!

Winners: The Gunns, by pinfall

The Bang Bang Gang celebrate and are rolling down the road to Full Gear! But Austin gets a mic to call out MJF! “Dynamite belongs to the Bang Bang Gang. Collision belongs to the Bang Bang Gang. And now Rampage belongs to the Bang Bang Gang! And at Full Gear, November 18th, in the Forum, we TAKE the ROH Tag Team Championships!” Colten adds, “If you’re not down with that, we’ve got two words for ya: GUNS UP!” Will Austin & Colten be 2v1 against MJF? Or will someone side with The Scumbag to keep the gold out of Bullet Club Gold?

RJ City is backstage.

He says everyone has seen the videos, the world is buzzing, all very nice. But the moment is here! Ladies and gentlemen, the return of Danhausen! Danhausen storms in to say no no no, they got the dates wrong! It was supposed to be next week! Sorry. Danhausen leaves and RJ says there you have it. Next week, the return of Danhausen. Danhausen says “Thank you” from off camera but uh, didn’t we just…? Well, when the Very Nice, Very Evil Overlord is truly back, what will be his first order of business?

Backstage interview with The Outcasts.

Alex Marvez is now with Saraya & Ruby Soho, and notes how Ruby’s been having a rough go of it lately. Ruby says yeah, she’d say it’s been rough. Ever since Toni Storm left the group, they’ve been on a bit of a downward spiral. Saraya lost the AEW Women’s World Championship, Ruby lost her opportunity at the Women’s World Championship, and Ruby really wishes Saraya could’ve been out there for that, by the way. Saraya wants Ruby to hold on. Baby girl, shush, be quiet. She talks about Toni like she’s this big star and they’d be nothing without her! But Toni would be nothing without Saraya because Saraya is the biggest star of the Outcasts!

Saraya thinks Ruby is forgetting that, and is being ungrateful. Ruby wouldn’t even be on AEW TV if not for Saraya, understand? Ruby nods and Saraya apologizes for taking frustrations out on Ruby. She just wants the best for Ruby, okay? So if Ruby sticks with Saraya, “you will be a star, kid.” Saraya musses Ruby’s hair and says see ya later. Saraya heads out, but Ruby says, “Kid? I’m older than you.” Angelo Parker steps in and offers to help comb her hair. She stops him there and says don’t even think about it. Ruby leaves, Matthew Menard walks in and asks what the hell. But hey, does Marvez have a minute? Menard’s got some questions to ask.

Daddy Magic wants to ask Cool Hand Ange something. What happened on Dynamite? All Parker had to do, the biggest match of their lives, and all Parker had to do was take the baseball bat and take two years, two YEARS, of frustration out on Chris Jericho! SMASH ‘EM IN THE FACE! But he couldn’t do it! And why couldn’t he? Cuz Parker doesn’t “have the dog” in him. That’s what Menard thinks. He doesn’t think Parker has the dog in him! Parker asks back, “You ever think that not everybody’s as frustrated about things as you are? More importantly, I’m not doing this here. I’m gonna go talk to Garcia, he’s got a big match tonight, I’m gonna go be a friend to him.”

Parker leaves and Menard asks Marvez if Parker’s turned some kinda pervert. Marvez shrugs, but clearly not all is well in the family unit that is the former Jericho Appreciation Society. Is Menard going to push his friends away with all this frustration?

Skye Blue VS Marina Shafir w/ Nyla Rose!

Just when everyone, including Julia Hart, thought the Chicago Skye was going to go dark, she gave Julia a taste of her own medicine! And while the Lady of the House is one problem, Skye is facing down another Problem! Will Marina be too tough to solve? Or can Skye use her new edge to cut like Occam’s Razor?

The bell rings and fans rally behind Skye as she stares Marina down. Then she offers a handshake? Marina takes it, and then she trips Skye! Skye holds on, Marina drags her back up, and Skye stomps Marina’s foot! But Marina, barefoot as she is, doesn’t flinch! Skye stomps and stomps but still nothing! Marina BOOTS Skye and Skye scrambles out of the ring. Skye paces around the outside while composing herself, and the ring count climbs. Skye goes up, she dodges Marina’s kick and then ROCKS her with a forearm! Fans rally as Skye brings Marina into the ropes, APRON DDT! Fans fire up and Skye smirks as she drags Marina off the apron.

Skye kicks Marina away, but Marina cartwheels back! Skye dodges to DECK Marina! Skye sneers as she looms over Marina. Cover, TWO!

Skye writhes, fans rally, and Marina paces. Skye sits up, ducks a kick but not the BOOT! Marina drags Skye up, clinches, and SLAMS! Cover, TWO! Marina is actually amused, and she grabs legs. But Skye kicks and kicks and kicks! Marina lets go, Skye gets up, and Skye SHOTGUNS Marina down!

GUILLOTINE! Skye flails, even as Marina sits on her! Skye BITES Marina?! Marina points it out to the ref, but Skye rolls her up! TWO!! Marina stands, into the SUPERKICK! Skye runs, dodges, and SUPERKICKS again! Marina wobbles, Skye runs to hop on, CODE BLUE!! Cover, SKYE WINS!

Winner: Skye Blue, by pinfall

It’s no longer Halloween but Skye uses some nasty tricks to get this win! Will she and Julia go to a very dark place when they finally face off in a match?

AEW takes a closer took at Darby Allin VS Lance Archer.

The Relentless Icon says, “Lance Archer is a very dangerous man. He’s a killer. But he’s also very ignorant. You probably say to yourself, ‘This little b*tch is taking my spot. I should be in the main event.'” But the Murderhawk Monster says, “You’ve tempted fate and you’ve cheated death one too many times. I’m not some ramp that you can jump. I’m not some mountain that you can climb. I’m the Murderhawk Monster, and you have never been in the ring with somebody that you’ve never even attempted to fight before.”

Darby says when they fight on Collision, Archer can kill him, but Darby will never die. Will Darby be able to survive Archer? Or will Sting & Edge need a new partner for Full Gear?

BREAKING NEWS for Collision!

On top of Darby VS Archer, and on top of The Acclaimed’s 69 days celebration, we will see Willow Nightingale take on Emi Sakura in a highly anticipated rematch. Will the 2023 Queen of Harts trump the Queen of Joshi? Plus, after rescuing FTR last week, La Faccion Ingobernable teams with them to take on Ricky Starks, “Big Bill” Morrissey and the Gates of Agony! Will Rush y Preston Vance help Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood reestablish themselves as #TopGuys? Or will it be an Absolute disaster for them?

Mark Henry welcomes us back.

“Another damn banger is headed your way, as Trent of Best Friends dances the dance with the smooth but vicious Daniel Garcia.” Red Death says things don’t work around here the way they used to work around here. You gotta take your own opportunities, so he is treating every single match he has as if it is the most important match in his career. That’s what is coming for you, Trent. What’s next for DG? He’s got some ideas. But Trent tells “Young Daniel, we can dance if you want to.” Mark Henry says it looks like there’s been enough talk. It’s TIME for the main event!

Will #JustTrent be ready for that NEVER Openweight Championship and Shingo Takagi? Or will facing the Dragonslayer show Trent he’s not ready for The Rampaging Dragon?

Winner: Daniel Garcia, by submission

Don’t call it a comeback or an upset, Red Death proved he can hang! And then he gets the mic to say, “Man, oh, man. I don’t know about y’all, but Daniel Garcia has a very good track of time, and Daniel Garcia has been keeping score, aight? So because I’m so good at keeping time, it has been seven MONTHS since Daniel Garcia has had a singles match in AEW! And I feel like there’s one way to jump the line in AEW, and that is winning a title. And I’m picky, I am greedy. I have a fetish for greed, I have a fetish for gold. And that’s why I’m calling out the biggest dog, MAXWELL! JACOB! FRIEDMAN!”

Fans chant “You’re A Wrestler!” but Garcia goes back to “SPORTS ENTERTAINERS in the world,” then MJF knows where to find him and what he’ll be doing. Garcia hits his dance, but will he get past his identity crisis to become a champion?

My Thoughts:

A very good Rampage here, and I pretty much nailed the match order. Awesome Triple Threat of the luchadores, and nice detail of QTV watching. Just as I was sensing, QT VS Penta for the AAA Latin America Championship is probably the plan, as a rematch from their Ambulance Match they had under AAA. But with QT having Aaron Solo, Harley Cameron and Johnny TV, you can bet QT cheats to keep the title. Good promo from Triple J to call out Eddie Kingston, though of course there was no mention of Sonjay talking with Stokely. But also, Ortiz having a part in this is logical, and I bet Ortiz VS Jarrett happens on the road to Eddie VS Lethal to perhaps motivate establishing when and where Eddie VS Lethal even happens.

Good tag match from Gunns VS Daniels & Sydal but of course Gunns win. Poor Daniels & Sydal, they lost two nights in a row since they just lost to Righteous on ROH. Very funny promo from Danhausen where he returns “ahead of schedule,” and good promo of the Outcasts starting to be at odds now that they don’t have anything. And great segue into another moment with Parker and Ruby, and then a great segue into Menard being upset with Parker and how the X-JAS is just falling apart at the seams. And good promo vignette from Darby and Archer to hype up their match for a rather big Collision tomorrow night.

Very good match from Skye VS Marina but of course Skye won to have momentum. I wonder if Skye VS Julia is set up for a go-home episode in a couple weeks, or maybe even as part of Full Gear’s Zero Hour since they always shove four matches onto it. And a great main event, I really thought Trent was going to win but I suppose that was just based on what he’s preparing for in NJPW. But since this is AEW, Garcia’s story takes precedent, and what a great win for him. Garcia calling out MJF is pretty wild, the contenders are piling up for him, who knows how this goes. Well, for one, MJF has to be making it through Full Gear, only to have Joe, Wardlow and Garcia wanting their shot at Worlds End in December, a great “Underdog Face Champion” scenario for MJF’s return home to New York.

My Score: 8.8/10
