The champs got a bye into the second round, but that means they’ve just been sitting around and watching. Will Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes get bit by some ring rust? Or can they get past the Denim Dragon and Cruiserweight contender?

The teams sort out, Starboy starts against Smokes. They tie up, Smokes SHOVES Chazz down, then taunts him. Chazz kips up and comes back! They tie up, Chazz waistlocks, but Smokes switches. Starboy fights the lift, slips under, then trips Smokes to cover, ONE! Smokes trips Starboy to cover, ONE as Chazz goes Matrix to get out! Chazz sits on Smokes, Smokes bucks like a bronco, but Chazz DROPKICKS! Brad tags in, he dodges a dropkick, then he flips Starboy over. Starboy UP KICKS! Starboy runs up, Smokes dodges, but Starboy goes up to then flying tilt-o-whirl RANA! The fans fire up as Brad flounders!

Starboy wrenches Brad, but Brad scoops! Starboy fights free, waistlocks, but Brad bucks the O’Conner. Smokes tags in, Chazz hurdles, but Smokes DECKS him! Smokes stomps away on Chazz, talks trash, then stomps him again. Smokes shoves Starboy to the corner, then tags Brad. Swipe Right mugs Chazz, Brad UPPERCUTS, but the fans boo. Brad CLUBS away on Chazz in the corner, then stops as the ref counts. Brad throws body shots on Starboy but he fires back. Brad ROCKS Starboy, tags Smokes, and they double whip. Starboy hurdles over Smokes, Brad waistlocks! Starboy BOOTS Smokes, ELBOWS Brad, but Smokes kicks low!

Smokes lifts, Starboy slips free! Tag to Mini Vikiingo! GAMANGIRI! Then a TORNILLO! Vikingo fires off, then wrenches to whip. Smokes reverses but Vikingo handsprings over! Vikingo ducks ‘n’ dodges, tag to Starboy, tilt-o-whirl RANA! The fans fire up as Smokes bails out! Brad runs in, into a TIGER WALL KICK and GAMANGIRI! Then Starboy gives Vikingo a wall for the TIGER WALL MOONSAULT! Brad bails out, but Vikingo & Starboy handspring, and do the superhero landing! Swipe Right is mad, but Starboy GAMANGIRIS Brad! Vikingo WRECKS Brad with a dropkick, but Mighty Myka Lockwood is there! Brad CLOBBERS Vikingo in the distraction!

Starboy is upset, but Smokes THROWS him down on the apron! The fans boo but Vanity Project soaks up the heat, and NXT goes picture in picture.

Smokes fetches Starboy into the ring, then slingshots for a KNEE DROP! Cover, TWO! Starboy is tougher than that, but Smokes stomps him around. Smokes CHOKES Starboy on the ropes, CLUBS him down, then talks trash. Smokes drags Starboy up, reels him in, and suplexes. Starboy slips free, O’Conner Rolls, TWO but Starboy DOUBLE STOMPS! Hot tag to Vikingo! He dodges Smokes to BLAST Brad! Then Vikingo BOOTS Smokes! Vikingo fires off forearms, but Smokes headlocks. Vikingo powers out, Brad tags in, and Smokes BOOTS Vikingo into a BLINDSDIE LARIAT! Brad drags Vikingo around into a chinlock.

Brad ELBOWS away on Vikingo, Jackson coaches him on, and Brad rains down even harder elbows! Brad stops to soak up heat from the fans, then he pie faces Starboy! The ref keeps Starboy back while Brad goes to Vikingo. Vikingo fires hands, but Brad suplexes for a GHOST BUSTER! Cover, TWO! Tag to Smokes and he turns Vikingo for a NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Smokes smothers Vikingo with a chinlock. Vikingo endures, fights up, and reaches out, only for Smokes to turn him away. Vikingo keeps pushing forward, he fires shots, and NXT returns to single picture. Vikingo CHOPS, Brad tags in, and Smokes waistlocks.

The fans boo as Swipe Right mugs Vikingo. They double whip, but Vikingo slips under to SHOVE Brad into Smokes! Brad anchors a leg to keep Vikingo back! Brad wristlocks, Vikingo slips around to ripcord and SPANISH FLY! Both men are down but the fans fire up! Brad and Vikingo crawl, hot tags to Smokes and Starboy! Starboy slingshots to BOOT Smokes! Then he SOBATS Brad, KICKS and SOBATS again! Smokes whips Starboy but he handsprings up and over Swipe Right! Then he goes Matrix to DOUBLE PELE! The fans fire up as the straps come down! Starboy winds up, cravats, and STANDING SLICED BREAD! Then the STANDING SKY TWISTER! Cover, TWO!

The fans rally up but Jackson talks trash. Smokes bails out, “This is Awesome!” as Starboy tags Vikingo back in. Starboy builds speed to SASUKE SPECIAL! Down goes Swipe Right but that’s not all! Mini Vikingo goes up, up, and DOUBLE JUMP 450!! Cover, TWO!! Smokes survives and Vikingo can’t believe it! Jackson & Myka are relieved but Vikingo hurries to get Smokes to a drop zone. Vikingo goes up again, but Smokes avoids the Peohnix Splash! Tag to Brad, Vikingo SUPERKICKS Smokes! Brad KNEES Vikingo! Starboy GAMANGIRIS Brad! Starboy goes up, Brad catches him! SUPER SWIPE!! Cover, but Vikingo breaks it AND POISON-RANAS SMOKES!!

The fans are going nuts as all four men are down! Brad rises up, he stomps Starboy, and he kicks again. Starboy blocks, CHOPS, and CHOPS! Brad KNEES low, reels Starboy in, but Starboy hits a RANA outta the suplex! Cover, TWO! Brad is up, but Starboy ROUNDHOUSES! Smokes springboards in, into a SUPERKICK! Starboy runs up, Brad launches him! Starboy is safe on the ropes, Vikingo tags in! QUEBRADA into a DDT! Vikingo is up top, PHOENIX ELBOW?!? Cover, but Smokes breaks it! The fans are going nuts again as all four men are down! Vikingo fires forearms on Brad, then kicks. Brad blocks to KNEE!

Starboy tags in, Brad BOOTS him! Vikingo gets a boost from Starboy, RANA sends Brad into Smokes! But that counts as a tag!? DROPKICK on Brad! Vikingo FLIES onto Jackson Drake! Drake takes the hit for his guys! Starboy is up top and SHOOTING STARBOY onto knees!! Brad tags back in, and Smokes goes up! The fans boo the HIT IT ‘N’ QUIT IT! Cover, Swipe Right wins!

The NXT Tag Team Champions are rolling on, and are the first of the Final Four! Who meets them in the semifinals? We’ll find out later tonight!

Backstage interview with Saquon Shugars.

Blake Howard is with The Sugar Man, and says that in just a few moments, he faces Tristan Angels, who did cost Shugars a chance at the NXT Championship. Shugars says he ain’t gonna hold you, Blake, but he doesn’t wanna be here. He should be posing with the title, but he’s got this Maltese by the name of Tristan Angels biting at his ankles. You could be anything in the world, why you choose to be a clown? Tristan doesn’t think Saquon looks like a champion? He doesn’t think he acts like a champion? Then why does he keep facing champions and Tristan is just in the back? Tristan thinks, Shugars does things!

But then Grayson Waller steps in. He says Shugars finally put the phone down, good to see. Oh look, “Poosain Bolt” finally stopped running. Waller says Shugars is talented, but he’s not willing to do whatever it takes to win. He’s worried about Waller instead of the guy he’s facing. And until Shugars fixes that, he’ll never be someone around here. Go handle Tristan while Waller worries about Myles and Tony. The winner of that faces Waller for the title, not Shugars. Shugars says Waller’s gonna learn a thing or two about him real quick. Sit by the monitor, boy! Dumbass kangaroo. Shugars heads out, but will he return to the back with the win?

Kali Armstrong talks with Robert Stone.

The Difference Maker knows the NXT GM knows what happened with Wren Sinclair last week. That was bull! Stone agrees, Wren should not have been in the match considering her suspension. Kali says damn right! She was tossing heifers left ‘n’ right, but now she’s got nothing to show for it! Stone points out she did have the most eliminations in that battle royal, including La Catalina. That’s why he confirmed with Rey Mysterio that Kali has a shot at the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship tonight. Kali says yeah! Better tell the “musty muffin” to get ready! Uh, he will. Stone wishes Kali luck, but will she only need a Kali Connection to become a champion?

Saquon Shugars VS Tristan Angels!

NXT returns as Mr. England makes his entrance, joining Shugars in the ring. The bell rings and the fans rally up. Tristan throws a sash at Shugars, Shugars snatches it, then dodges the cheap shot. Shugars HIP TOSSES Tristan, then arm-drags! Shugars throws the sash back, then DROPKICKS Tristan! Cover, TWO! Shugars arm-drags again, then has the wristlock. Tristan pulls hair to put Shugars in the corner, then he RAMS into Shugars. Tristan RAMS Shugars again, and again, then UPPERCUTS! The ref reprimands, Tristan argues with him, but then Shugars KNEES Tristan! Shugars goes up and over, arm-drags Tristan, and wrenches to a hammerlock.

Tristan fights up, reaches out, then reaches down to trip Shugars! Tristan swivels his hips, but Shugars boots him to ropes. Shugars stays low, hurdles over, but Tristan waistlocks. Shugars fights the lift, then he reaches down and trips Tristan! The fans cheer, Shugars wrenches, but Tristan pulls hair again. Tristan whips, Shugars hurdles, and now Shugars swivels the hips. The fans cheer Shugars, and he hurdles Tristan again to BULLDOG! The fans cheer as Shugars then ducks a shot and atomic drops! Tristan falls onto ropes, Shugars runs up to SLIDING ELBOW! The fans cheer as Shugars lands outside, and he goes back to slingshot LEG DROP! Cover, TWO!

Tristan staggers up but Shugars arm-drags for another wristlock. Shugars stands on Tristan, and the fans cheer him on as he YANKS the arm back! Tristan endures, fights up, but Shugars fights him down. Tristan fights up, has the ROPEBREAK, but then he stomps Shugars! Shugars staggers, Tristan storms up, but Shugars BOOTS and ENZIGIRIS! Shugars goes up, but Tristan YANKS him down! Tristan goes to a corner, and he tears at a buckle pad! The fans boo, the ref reprimands, but the pad is on there tight. Shugars KNEES Tristan into the buckle! Shugars whips corner to corner, then he BACKDROPS Trsitan away!

Tristan staggers, Shugars LARIATS him up and out! Shugars runs up, Tristan avoids the dropkick, but Shugars rebounds to DROPKICK again! The fans fire up while Tristan throws a fit. Tristan then throws a chair! The fans boo, the ref reprimands, but Tristan throws more chairs! Shugars collects those to take a seat. Tristan storms up to the ring, the ref reprimands, and Tristan continues to throw a fit as he smacks things with the chair. Tristan finally puts the chair down, and NXT goes to break.

NXT returns again as Tristan suplexes Shugars, but Shugars knees free. Shugars runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, but Tristan BOOTS him down! Cover, TWO! Shugars toughs it out and Tristan grows frustrated. The fans rally for Shugars while Tristan stalks him. Tristan drags Shugars up, ROCKS him, but Shugars hits back. Tristan throat chops, then he turns Shugars, but Shugars holds onto ropes! The neckbreaker is denied, and Shugars UP KICKS! The fans rally as Shugars goes to a corner. Trsitan runs up, blocks a kick and puts Shugars in the ropes! DRAPING BACKSTABBER! Shugars writhes but Tristan goes up, up, and ELBOW DROPS!

Tristan flips Shugars over to cover, TWO! The fans rally up while Tristan grows further frustrated. Tristan clamps onto Shugars with a straitjacket stretch! Shugars endures, fights around, and the fans rally up. Shugars stands but Tristan UPPERCUTS! Tristan clamps on with a SLEEPER! The fans rally again as Shugars fights up, up, and pulls at the arms. Tristan holds on, so Shugars RAMS him into a corner! Shugars is free, and he BOOTS Tristan to the outside! Tristan pulls hair, but Shugars HOTSHOTS Tristan! Shugars goes out and BOOTS Tristan into steel steps! The fans rally as Tristan flounders into the ring.

Shugars fires hands, ROCKS Tristan, then CHOPS! Shugars whips, Tristan reverses, but Shugars hurdles over! Shugars DECKS Tristan, ELBOWS him down, then whips. Shugars kitchen sink KNEES Tristan! The fans fire up with Shugars, he runs up, and LARIATS! Tristan runs up, Shugars gets under, BACKBREAKER and SIDEWINDER! Cover, TWO! Shugars fires up, goes to a corner, and he goes right up, but Tristan avoids the imploder stomps! Tristan staggers to his feet, Shugars CROSSBODIES Tristan and himself out of the ring! Shugars has Tristan, but Tristan denies the Tornado DDT, slamming him onto the chair!

Tristan hurries to put Shugars back in the ring! Tristan runs, HEAVENLY KNEE DROP!! Cover, Tristan wins!

Shugars was in a fight, but Tristan was playing chess with those chair antics! He steals another one from Shugars tonight, but will he have to pay up at some point?

Tony D’Angelo speaks.

The Master of Fate tells Myles Borne, “You really feeling yourself with this new attitude of yours, this ‘Me First’ version, thinking that it’s gonna get you to the top of NXT. But you see, the only problem with that is where you wanna go is where I live. Now tonight, it doesn’t matter what version of Myles Borne I get, you’re not gonna get the job done. See, I didn’t get to where I’m at because of how I talk or the clothes I wear. I got there because of results. Taking down every threat, every champ, even a Ruler. Now last week, you socked me in the face with a roll of quarters. You saw an opportunity and took it. Good on you.

“But see, that’s where me and you are different, Myles. See, you hit me in the face without five dollars worth of quarters, where I would’ve knocked your ass out with a crowbar. Don’t kid yourself. Now, I might’ve traded in the suit for a pair of jeans and a jacket, but in NXT, I decide who walks and who takes a swim. In NXT, I AM the Master of Fate. And tonight, Myles Borne, your fate is in my hands. And at Halloween Havoc, Grayson Waller, I’ll decide yours.” Tony is determined as ever, but will that see him through to the title?
