WWE News: Update On Johnny Gargano Following TakeOver, EC3 Possibly Injured
Following last night’s NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV, WWE’s Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative Triple H took part in a post-show media conference call to discuss the event.
Among the topics were the status of Johnny Gargano after his Last Man Standing main event for the NXT Title in which Tommaso Ciampa retained when Gargano delivered a running knee from the stage that sent him catapulting into a production box and falling to the floor. The move led to Ciampa rolling off the stage to his feet to hang onto the championship and it was noted on commentary that Gargano may have suffered a dislocated knee, which Triple H elaborated on, stating that he may have suffered a dislocated kneecap.
‘The Game’ would also discuss EC3, noting that he was “dinged up” during his match with The Velveteen Dream, but some have taken this to mean that ‘The Top One Percent’ might have gotten a concussion. EC3 would take to Twitter after the bout, sporting a swollen eye:

EA’s Take: I don’t necessarily buy Gargano’s injury. Does anyone else think it was amazingly quick how Mauro Ranallo said he had gotten “word” that it might be a dislocated knee? Smells like a setup to me and a possible way to write him off of television for a bit, possibly to cool off the year long feud with Ciampa. That was obviously the planned finish and the medical staff had only been checking on him for what seemed like mere seconds before Mauro said it was a dislocated knee. I don’t know, just doesn’t seem like it was legitimate to me. As for EC3, that one I can see as being real, but then again if he was concussed would they have been putting him in front of a camera for an interview?
