Andrew’s JCW Lunacy Results & Match Ratings: Ep# 94

Vince Russo returns to the building, he goes as far as to make Alice Crowley pay for her Kerry Morton match. They’re doing a qualifying tournament for Number 1 Contender for the Women’s title, and has Alice get jumped by Rae Larson.

Dani also has some kind of control over The Outbreak now, as well as, the Luciano Family continuing to have a few issues between Sally Boy and Big Vito. Things are building nicely towards Bloodymania from a story perspective. Let’s see what else we get.

Violent J tells Team JWO that he will not be participating in Gore Games.

However, we will learn who his replacement is by the end of tonight's show.

Results:

Former JCW Lunacy World Champion Mr Anderson opens the show. Anderson says he was gone because he asked for more money and was told to take time to cool  off and rethink things. So he’s taken a few months and calls out CoKane, and CoKane’s music plays. Anderson wants a referee.

Mr Anderson vs CoKane

Anderson kicks CoKane and starts bouncing him from buckle to buckle as soon as the bell rings. CoKane no sells and headbutts the buckles on his own before rocking Anderson with Uppercuts. Irish Whip and a Splash, then sending Anderson’s face into the buckle across the ring and Anderson falls flat. CoKane only gets a 1 count, but Anderson starts fighting back. Big Boot, grabs CoKane’s foot, then Rocket Launchers CoKane into the bottom rope to drive the rope into his throat before locking in the Headlock. CoKane tries to fight back up, but Anderson clubs his back and perches him for a Superplex. CoKane fights off the top, Anderson eats a few punches, crashes and CoKane with the Flying Throat Chop!

CoKane kips up, Anderson also gets up but eats Uppercuts into a White Thunder Bomb, but only a two! CoKane scales the buckles, but Anderson pushes the referee into the ropes to crotch CoKane. Anderson tries to play like it was an accident, but he goes up and looks for the Green Bay Plunge, but CoKane fights off. Anderson crashes, Swanton from CoKane, but Anderson kicks out at 2. CoKane grabs his pocket powder, Cokes Up, but Anderson kicks him in the dick. So the referee DQs Anderson and Anderson just keeps stomping on CoKane.

James Storm music hits and James Storm comes down to beat on Anderson, causing Anderson to retreat. Storm tells Anderson he’s gonna wear his ass out.

Decent match, but James Storm returning along with Anderson actually adds a little more star power to the show.

Father Bronson vs Kerry Morton

I’m mad, I love both of these guys. Can they just become best friends? 

Kerry and Bronson are mostly feeling each other out with tie ups and counters. Really solid wrestling but Bronson retreats to the ropes just to find space. Kerry ducks the line, leap frog into a Hip Toss for a little Ground and Grind, but Bronson fights up and Chops Kerry for his indignance. Bronson Whips Kerry across, up and over into a Steamboat Arm Drag, but even though Kerry is keeping Bronson off balance, Bronson just kicks Kerry in the gut and starts using his power to work over Kerry on the outside. Bronson rams the left arm into the steps, then starts to just twist and wring the arm. Key Lock, into a Kimura, but Kerry gets away, looks for a quick hitter Senton to try and give him so reprieve, but Bronson dodges. Kerry keeps fighting from underneath, Dropkick, Hip Attack and a Flying Forearm gives Kerry momentum.

Looking to Kiss it Goodbye, Kerry charges, but misses! Josh Bishop’s music hits as Bronson is starting to work over Kerry. But Bishop walks down, Kerry shoves Bronson into Bishop and the match gets thrown out as Bishop clocks Bronson. Kerry seems conflicted because he wanted a clean finish, but he’s not dumb enough to fight Bishop. Bishop hits Exit 187, and Bishop stands on Bronson as Kerry asks him to leave.

Kerry looks like he’s gonna leave, but then decides he might as well take advantage, hits a Kiss it Goodbye on Bronson and counts his own 1-2-3, just to send a message.

Solid match, would’ve liked a normal finish instead of back to back DQs. Hopefully we don’t get any more DQ garbage finishes.

Rae Larson vs “Big Al” Alice Crowley

Al comes out hot since Rae jumped her early. A little Hockey Fight, into Arm Drags from Crowley, Rae telegraphs a Backdrop, but Al kicks her and levels her for a two count. Rae powders, Al tries to follow but gets caught in the ropes, Knee Lift into a Stun Gun across the middle rope. Rae starts with the Overhand Chops on Al, but Al turns it around, and they start trading and brawling until Rae hits a Snapmare into a Sliding Lariat. Rae pulls off her version of the Three Amigos, does a little dance after the second, looks for the Butterfly on three, but Al fights back after getting the time to recover. Lariats, Back Fist and a Pump Kick into a Saito Suplex from Alice. Whiplash into the ropes, into a Lariat to the back of the head from Alice, and…only a two.  Al wants the Lariat, but Rae blocks it with the kick and a Snap Butterfly Suplex gives Rae a two count. Rae wants a Reverse DDT, but Alice uses her long legs to knee Rae in the head to stagged her, hits the Lariat and Big Al wins!

Decent match with a real finish. So…that counts for something!

Vito, Vincenzo and Sally boy walk out, they cut a long promo about how the heads of the family wanted Sally Boy wacked, but Vito got him a small pass. Vito gives Sally Boy the Kiss of Death…and then Krule’s music hits.

Sal attacks Krule head on, but Krule manhandles Sal, Chokeslams him twice, and then takes his head off. Vincenzo wants Vito to call off the dog, but Vito is calling for more. Sal crawls to Vito’s feet for help, but Vito doesn’t stop Krule, and Krule drops Sal again with a Chokeslam. Vito tells Krule, one more. Krule lifts him and just drops him face first from 9 feet high. Vito tells Vincenzo to scrape him up and drag him out.

Caleb Konley vs Jeeves

Jeeves tries to throw a few strikes, but Caleb is laughing through these strikes and dominating Jeeves. Vince Russo is on commentary trying to say that Jeeves is a blue chiper and it’s totally not a sham. It’s fun commentary. Caleb hits a Brainbuster on Jeeves but Caleb pulls Jeeves up on purpose to not end the match already. Caleb starts kicking Jeeves in the ribs, the crowd is chanting for Jeeves, but Jeeves looks half dead. Jeeves spits at Caleb, Caleb charges and eats back to back Lariats from Jeeves, Tornado…nope, Caleb shoves him off. Caleb hits the Back Fist and Jeeves drops like a sack of shit.

Burning Hammer from Caleb, but Caleb flips off the crowd and doesn’t go for the pinfall. Pulls Jeeves back up into another Burning Hammer. Caleb still isn’t covering Jeeves, the referee is checking on Jeeves but not calling the match. Caleb pulls him up for a third one, one for the road, and a third Burning Hammer has Jeeves laying in a heap. Bishop comes out and starts attacking Krule, the referee is distracted by Bishop and Krule, EC3 returns, hits a Stunner and drags Jeeves over top of Caleb. But it’s only a two count!

EC3 gets back in the ring and hits the One Percenter in front of Vince Russo and the referee. So it’s another DQ finish, but EC3 doesn’t care.

JWO walks out, and it looks like they are here to announce that EC3 is their 5th member for GoreGames. They pull out a JWO Jersey for EC3, it says EC3 on the back and Tony hands the Jersey to Ethan. JW3 4 Life as the 5th man.

Overall Score: 6.25/10

The show wasn’t bad by any means, but 3 DQs in four matches was more egregious here. Now I know, I usually say you don’t watch the show for the wrestling, but when you give us the wrestling and you end it the same way 75% of the time, it becomes impossible to overlook. Now let’s be clear here, I love Kerry Morton and Father Bronson, so an angle to keep them both strong is fine. I’m a big fan of Josh Bishop, so his constant interreference is something I’m not mad about, but it becomes overkill. EC3’s return and reveal as the 5th man for the JWO side in GoreGames is also great, because I enjoy Ethan when he can just say whatever silly crap is on his mind. But again…too samey.

Am I enjoying where the stories are going? Sure…except for Jasmin St Claire. Introducing Donovan Dijak as the “Step Daddy” because he’s gonna step on everyone talking shit and make them call him Daddy or whatever…that’s just cringe. Dijak is in the same boat as Damian Priest for me, nearly 7 feet tall, but a complete goof who couldn’t think of an engaging gimmick if the God sent it to him in a dream. Too many tall dudes who are just wannabe small guys. Be a dork somewhere else.

So yea, it was a weak show, but not a hard watch. Just gotta avoid so many of the same damn finish.
