5. Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins

With the Shield reunion on the horizon, a good title defense at No Mercy and singles matches against Braun Strowman, Ambrose and Rollins are positioning themselves well for imminent singles runs. Both make their debuts on Power Rankings thanks to their match quality throughout their title reign, plus the Shield hype keeps them on everyone’s lips. One of them will need to turn heel to keep the main event dynamic fresh once Lesnar cycles out, but for now, the nostalgia of when we actually like Roman Reigns drives them into top 5.

There were a few close cuts, Finn Balor and Sheamus & Cesaro were considered, but, due to Cesaro’s meme worthy teeth accident (as well as an anticipated injury hiatus) and Balor still not having definitive direction; I couldn’t bring myself to place them in the Power Rankings.

We can revisit the power struggle after TLC, maybe Asuka will immediately jump into the Top 5 and help to sort out the rather lackluster cluster that is the Raw Women’s Division, or, maybe Samoa Joe will return and make a big impact. Either way, after TLC there’s a lot of potential for shakeups, but we’ll see in a month.
