New Japan Pro Wrestling is in a conundrum and ROH not wanting to work with All Elite Wrestling makes things harder for them. Now it depends on them with who they want to work in the future, one bad move could mean the end of the current hype NJPW has around the globe in the wrestling world. This would kill their expansion. Certain factors could push NJPW to one direction but only time will tell if their decision will be the right one.

The Kenny Omega Factor

As all reports say, Kenny Omega’s future is AEW bound unless WWE makes one final move but as reported in the past Kenny has already turned them down. The lost of Omega for New Japan is a big lose for them because they are losing their biggest ambassador to the world and they will not be able to work with him once it’s made official his partnership with AEW. Although NJPW is trying to put Jay White as their big non-Japanese star, but a lot of the NJPW fans are yet to be impressed by his work and for now Jay needs to work really hard to earn their trust. NJPW will do anything to work once again with Omega and The Bucks and this factor is the most important one NJPW will consider at the time of making a choice.

The New Beginning USA Effect

Because of the shutdown of the US government, New Japan was unable to get visas for some of the talents they planned to book for the show. The lost of The Elite has shown a very weak spot for both NJPW and ROH and that was the lack of star power and ROH has yet to find talent that can substitute the star power The Elite had. The 3 day show has a very weak card and this has to put things in perspective for New Japan specially. AEW has Chris Jericho, Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks on their roster and NJPW needs them more than ever if they what this expansion to work.

ROH Is Signing New Talent

Sinclair Broadcast group (owners of ROH) have finally seen the light after the lost of The Elite and are decided to invest heavily on ROH. ROH is signing new talent being Rush and Bandido great signees for ROH. The lost of The Elite meant they needed new faces to boost their roster and they are doing a great job at it.  The only question is if ROH still convince more wrestlers to join with AEW’s popularity and roster growing this makes the two promotions at war with each other for talent and the partnership of New Japan.

The Uncertainty That Is AEW

AEW has yet to prove itself and right now they are a big question and doubts are coming to some people and they feel a little of a WCW vibe on them. Until they show things are being done right, AEW will not be able to work with NJPW any time soon, in the other hand ROH is already stable and NJPW knows what they are getting from their partnership with them. AEW needs to make things work so NJPW can choose them over them.  

What will New Japan do? Much like ROH and All Elite, 2019 is a major year for NJPW’s westward expansion.
