Welcome to the Wrestlemania 35 Kickoff Show!

Join Jonathon Coachman, Sam Roberts, John “Bradshaw” Layfield and Paige as they review what went down on the Road to Wrestlemania!

It’s the host of Wrestlemania 35: Alexa Bliss!

The Goddess welcomes us to the show she has prepared tonight. She’ll make the entire of Wrestlemania a Moment of Bliss.

Backstage interview with The New Day.

Specifically it’s Xavier Woods & Big E. They promise that Kofi Kingston is just fine going into the WWE Championship match. His tank is full to the brim, full of his motivation and memories about FINALLY becoming world champion! Kofi is motivated by having his family and friends behind him, on top of the 80 THOUSAND in attendance and millions around the world to become the NEW W, W, E, World, Heavyweight, CHAMPION~! “We ready, Kayla! Kayla, we ready!” The New Day is pumped for their brother, just how much more pumped is Kofi himself for this match tonight? Will #Kofimania run wild?!

Edge & Christian join the panel!

These two men know what it’s like to be tag team champions together, and they know what it’s like to be a world champion on their own. This is Kofi’s first chance at the title and the biggest chance ever, but that won’t matter in Edge’s eyes. Kofi will headbutt the glass ceiling and finally get it done. Christian knows that Kofi had to wait 11 years for this. Kofi was happy to be on this ride but then the opportunity fell in his lap. Vince McMahon called Kofi a B+ Player, but he also told Daniel Bryan that. Bryan overcame his packaging, but Christian is unsure about Kofi. Edge brings up how Christian had to wait 15 years. But Christian was scratching and clawing. Then so has Kofi. E&C may have a minor disagreement, but they both do hope Kofi does it.

As for Bryan himself, Bryan’s lived the dream and is now on the other side. The Planet’s Champion is performing at a higher level because of his lifestyle. Christian understands how Bryan feels, as Captain Charisma is now 21% Vegan. But while Bryan is the planet’s champion, Kofi is a People’s Champion, and Edge is sure that will win. Will this prediction that reeks of awesomeness come true?

The Juggernaut has proven himself against some of the best in the Cruiserweight Division today, from Cedric Alexander to Mustafa Ali to three opponents at the same time. The Impractical Jokers’ Sal & Q join the panel!

Being such big fans, Sal & Q are feeling like stars being here. They’re all in for The Miz and The Man. So much so, Q is wearing Miz themed undies. Q would also choose a winner for the Women’s Winner Takes All, but he’s afraid of any or all of them beating him up. Will Sal & Q get to see Miz up close during that Falls Count Anywhere match?

Ladies and Gentlemen: Elias.

The Drifter finally takes the stage, but he’s behind a drum set? Elias is a man of more than one instrument, and he gives a nice drum intro. Then he’s on piano and plays another good intro. And then he’s in the ring with his true love: guitar. Elias speaks to New York and asks if they’ve ever seen a more handsome band. Tonight is going to be very special, because he’ll do what no one has ever done before. Elias will play alongside himself! Drum Elias counts them in and Piano Elias joins in for a very jazzy Blues number. And it is actually really good. Elias compliments his alter egos and has them take a bow. But now Prime Elias will take it from here.

“Who Wants to Walk with Elias?!” New York seems okay with that, and start singing for Elias. Elias plays along with Seven Nation Army. Well if you liked that, just wait for the triangle, bass and harpsichord. But in all seriousness, Elias promises the greatest performance in professional music history! The fans will receive the greatest blessing, because WWE truly stands for Walk With Elias! New York knows that, and Elias smiles. But for the first song, Elias has something especially for Wrestlemania, and it will surely be the Mania theme song for the rest of history. So please silence phones, hold applause, and most importantly, SHUT YOUR MOUTHS! Elias begins, but a strange video package starts to play…

It is a special bulletin breaking news of the World Series. Chicago Cubs VS New York Yankees, Babe Ruth calling his shot. Elias has no idea what this has to do with him, but as Babe Ruth hits that homer, JOHN CENA appears?! And not just any Cena, THUGANOMICS! Word Life returns and Cena hits the ring! “Kill the beat, kill the beat.” Fans are excited to see Cena back and especially as the Doctor of Thuganomics. Poor Elias just got the worst deal, because he’s in the ring with Cena ’bout to turn Heel. Silence phones, hold applause, shut mouth and no string plucks. Cena feels like he’s watching one of his own movies, cuz this just sucks. WWE is Walk With Elias? Not really feeling it. Because without a guitar, Elias is just a wasted wrestling experiment.

Cena’s a bad man, his style’s like a pitbull that bit you. Elias isn’t even a whole dog, just a little piece of Shitzu. And a graphic to illustrate. Fans are loving this but Cena’s not done. He’d ask for a duet, but Elias would just put it on the shelf. We did all just see, Elias prefers to play with himself. And Cena may be the Golden Shovel, so it’s time to bury the Push. Elias is like Cena’s (pistachio) nuts but with a harrier bush. Did Cena wear out his welcome? Guess he’ll just leave you. No AA today, so Elias will just get an F U. Sucker punch takes Elias down! And “You Can’t See Me!” Five Knuckle Shuffle throwback! Pump ’em up! AA FU! Peace out. Is this John Cena going to be the one that’s back full time?

No Holds Barred: Triple H VS Batista!

Did The Game hold The Animal down in WWE? Did The Animal simply quit out of his own frustration and selfishness? It doesn’t really matter now, because the rules are out the window and HHH’s wrestling career is on the line. Will HHH avenge Ric Flair for Batista’s betrayal? Or will Batista be the one to finally end The Game?

The bell rings and HHH gets face to face with Batista. They then rush each other and Batista tackles HHH to a corner! Batista rams his shoulder in but HHH knees him back. HHH throws hands back but Batista clobbers him down! Batista stalks HHH and whips him but HHH reverses to elbow Batista out of the ring. HHH catches his breath before pursuing Batista. Batista throws HHH over the desk! But HHH jumps up and over the desk to tackle Batista! Both men hit the apron but HHH rains down rights. HHH goes to throw Batista but Batista throws HHH over barriers! Batista goes back but HHH hits him with a toolbox! Batista staggers and falls but HHH goes back to the toolbox to empty it out. HHH has a chain! And he uses it to LASH Batista on the back!

HHH looms over Batista to LASH him again! Then HHH takes the chain and wraps it around Batista’s neck and choke him! The chain also gets in Batista’s eyes and mouth as HHH pulls back hard. HHH then lets go of the chain to sling Batista to the floor. HHH drags Batista up to whip Batista into steel steps. Batista is down and HHH tosses the chain aside. HHH picks up a pair of pliers from the toolbox! HHH drags Batista onto the steel steps and uses those pliers to crush Batista’s fingers! Batista writhes and shouts in pain but HHH uses the pliers to put on a keylock. HHH traps that arm and dares Batista to give up. HHH stomps the arm!

Batista writhes and goes to the ring, but HHH grabs a chair! HHH brings it to the ring, but he also brings needle nose pliers now. HHH grins with the sadism of old before he SMACKS Batista with a chair! Batista is on the mat and HHH sits on Batista with the chair! HHH uses the chair to choke Batista, and then he brings the needle nose pliers to go after the nose ring!! Batista can only scream and shout as HHH RIPS the ring from his nostril! Batista drags HHH over to bump him off the announce desk. HHH flounders while Batista picks up the top of the steel steps. Batista RAMS HHH in the head!

Batista catches his breath a moment and leaves the steel steps on one desk while clearing off the other. He scoops HHH and snake eyes him onto the steps. Batista makes sure HBK sees this as he climbs up onto the desk. Batista gives the thumbs up, and the thumbs down! He lifts HHH, but HHH back drops Batista onto the other desk! This desk doesn’t give way, either! HHH shoves the steel steps away while he catches his breath and Batista writhes in pain. HHH drags himself up while Batista stirs on the other desk. Both men slowly stand on the desks and head for each other. HHH says “SUCK IT” as he SPEARS Batista through the third desk!! Both men are down but this needs to end with a cover or submission!

HHH and Batista slowly stir, and Batista crawls away from HHH. HHH still pursues, and the two fight each other as they crawl into the ring. Batista drags HHH back down to throw haymakers and ax handles. Batista goes back into the ring but HHH slumps back down. HHH takes a moment to catch his breath, but he also finds an old friend under the ring: the sledgehammer! And not just one, but two! HHH brings one hammer with him into the ring, but Batista SPEARS him!! Cover, TWO!! HHH still lives and Batista starts to grow frustrated. Batista staggers to his feet and grabs the sledgehammer for his own! Batista runs at HHH but gets a boot. HHH grabs sledgehammer but runs into Batista’s boot. HHH roars with anger but runs into a SPINEBUSTER!

Batista fires himself up like it’s 2005. He drags HHH up for the bomb, BATISTA BOMB!! Cover, TWO!? HHH survives and Batista is shocked! Batista goes out and brings in the base steps! He shoves it towards HHH and then hobbles over to bring HHH up. Batista brings HHH to a corner, then to the top rope. Fans can tell what Batista wants as he lines it up. HHH fights for his life but Batista hits back. Batista climbs but HHH slips under! HHH POWERBOMBS Batista on the steel steps!! Batista somehow stands, but HHH is on him with a PEDIGREE!! Cover, TWO?!? How does Batista survive that?! HHH doesn’t have time question it, he just crawls to his sledgehammer.

Batista crawls back to the steel steps, but HHH aims with his hammer. HHH runs in but Batista hits low! Batista DDT’s HHH on the steps! HHH goes up and over with the power of that spike! HHH somehow drags himself to ropes while Batista flounders away. Fans see something though: It’s Ric Flair! The Nature Boy gives HHH the second hammer! And as for Batista, he tells him off for what he did. Batista gets up, but HHH uses the steps for a FLYING hammer shot! And then, one more Pedigree!! Cover, HHH wins!

Winner: HHH, by pinfall; does NOT have to retire from in-ring competition

The Nature Boy chose a side, and The Game wins! This is the first time but the most important time HHH has ever beaten Batista, but will Batista simply quit and go back to Hollywood like before?

Alexa Bliss has The B-Team model new Daniel Bryan T-Shirts.

Of course, the statement on the shirt, “And STILL… The Planet’s Champion”, was made out of over confidence that he would win. These now defunct collectors items can be yours on the WWE’s official shirt. The B-Team do a modeling dance, but Ron Simmons comes by to say… “DAMN!” Classic Ron.

Kurt Angle’s Farewell Match: Kurt Angle VS Baron Corbon!

The Olympic Gold Medalist will retire, whether he wins or loses. As such, he wants to make sure he settles the grudge with the Lone Wolf before he hangs it up for good. Will Angle show the WWE Universe and most importantly Corbin himself, that he’s still got it? Or will Corbin be the last and most embarrassing loss in Angle’s Hall of Fame level career?

The bell rings and Angle starts swinging on Corbin! Corbin staggers but boots Angle back. Corbin runs but into a belly2belly! Angle stalks Corbin to a corner but Corbin rakes his eyes. Corbin mocks the fans who wanted Cena in this match with the “You Can’t See Me” hands. Corbin then whips but Angle rocks Corbin with a right! And gets another German! And another! Angle gets a sixth German total, but he’s not done there! This is his last match, and fans fire up as Angle wants one last go at the top rope. Ange MOONSAULTS, but flops! Well it was never his best move… Corbin reels Angle in for End of Days! Cover, Corbin wins?!

Winner: Baron Corbin, by pinfall

The Lone Wolf ruins everyone’s fun as he ruins the finale to Angle’s in-ring career. No one in the WWE Universe can believe it, nor does Angle. Will Corbin use this deafening silence to make his way to a championship?

Angle grabs a mic and fans still cheer and chant “Thank You, Kurt!” But Angle tells them that for the past 20 years, he’s had the time of his life. Even here tonight. Angle thanks each and every one of the fans, but he wants this to end his way. Play his music and say those classic two words. “You Suck! You Suck!” Of course, everyone means it with love. Angle says his final good-byes as far as the ring goes, but will Angle find a new way to be part of the WWE?

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Bobby Lashley w/ Lio Rush VS Demon Finn Balor!

Raw & SmackDown Women’s Championships, Winner Takes All Triple Threat: Ronda Rousey VS Charlotte Flair VS Becky Lynch!

The history of this history-making match really begins with Survivor Series 2018. Everyone wanted Ronda VS Becky, Raw Women’s Champion VS SmackDown Women’s Champion. But The Man chose to take the fight to the Baddest Woman’s brand, only to get a broken nose from Nia Jax. The dream match was changed to Ronda VS Charlotte, and that’s when things grew complicated. There was fighting between Ronda and Charlotte, Becky and Ronda, and Charlotte and Becky. Becky lost her SmackDown Women’s Championship but jumped into the Women’s Royal Rumble to win it. She called out the Raw Women’s Champion, but then Vince McMahon made an executive decision. Becky rebelled, Charlotte taunted and Ronda turned. Now we’re at a match that will settle everything between three of the baddest in the business today. When it’s Winner Takes All in a Wrestlemania first, who becomes the first UNDISPUTED Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion!?

The Queen arrives in a helicopter! And of course, with a red carpet. But of course, Ronda Rousey has Joan Jett & The Blackhearts perform their iconic song live! As for Becky, she only needs herself and the WWE Universe. The introductions are made, the belts are raised, and we make history!

Ronda, Charlotte and Becky stare down from their corners. They all slowly circle, with fans strongly behind Becky. Becky and Charlotte stare, but then realize Ronda is literally between them. So they both go after her! Ronda and Becky grapple while Charlotte hangs back. Ronda throws body shots to back Becky up, but Becky hits back. Only for Ronda to fire off more! Ronda kicks Becky out but Charlotte runs in, only to get a knee! Ronda kicks Charlotte out, too, then goes after Becky. She picks Becky up to drive her into barriers. Ronda scoops Charlotte for Piper’s Pit to the floor! Ronda goes back to Becky but Becky shoves her into a post! Becky boots Ronda then Charlotte scoops Ronda for an exploder into barriers! The Man and The Queen have Ronda down for now, and they go back to the ring.

Charlotte says she told us so, but Becky doesn’t care. The frenemy Horsewomen throw hands back and forth! Becky hits but Charlotte kicks the bad leg. Charlotte yanks on an arm as well, and goes to bring Becky down! She wants to steal the Disarm-Her?! Becky powers out and rocks Charlotte, to steal the Figure Four! Charlotte shoves Becky back but the two throw forearms again. Ronda returns to kicks them both down! Ronda judo throws Becky around but Charlotte knees Ronda low. Chalrotte boots Ronda into Becky, but Ronda won’t let go of Becky! Charlotte powerbomb lifts Ronda with Becky trapped, but Ronda drags them both into hanging armbars! Triple Threat means no disqualifications so Ronda doesn’t need to let go!

Becky breaks free but Charlotte’s still trapped. Becky dropkicks Ronda from under Charlotte, and Ronda hits the ground hard! The referee checks on Ronda but Charlotte knocks Becky down. Charlotte goes after Becky but Becky fights her off. Becky runs in at Charlotte in a corner, but into a backbreaker and buckle bump! Charlotte kicks Becky in the face then covers, TWO! Charlotte stomps Becky out then brings down the knee pad. She shouts out to the Nature Boy with that knee drop. Fans rally for Becky even as Charlotte bounces her off the mat. Charlotte climbs up top, MOONSAULT! But into knees! And the Disarm-Her! But Ronda returns to drag Becky into knee strikes. And then takedown to an armbar! Becky rolls around to resist, Charlotte knees Ronda down!

Becky grabs Charlotte in a facelock for double DDT combo! Cover on Ronda, TWO! Cover on Charlotte, TWO!

Becky is beside herself but she focuses on Charlotte while Ronda goes to the apron. Becky forearms and mule kicks Charlotte to ropes, but runs into a boot. Charlotte runs into uppercuts from Becky, then headbutts. Becky runs into an elbow from Charlotte, and Charlotte drags Becky up to whip. Becky reverses but Charlotte tumbles to the apron. Charlotte boots Becky then climbs, but Becky joins her. They fight for control and Ronda crawls over. SUPER Becksploder! Cover, TWO!! Becky gets up and goes after Ronda but Ronda hits her away. Ronda climbs up and leaps for a double crossbody! Double cover, TWO! Ronda grabs Becky for another judo throw, then she throws Charlotte down beside her. Double Armbar!

Ronda promised to do this to them, but Charlotte and Becky lift her up for a DOUBLE BOMB! But not just one, a SECOND Double Bomb! Ronda holds on so Charlotte and Becky give her a THIRD! Becky and Charlotte then brawl with each other! Charlotte throws Becky out and covers Ronda, TWO!! Ronda survives by the narrowest of margins, but Charlotte already formulates a plan in her mind. Fans rally up as Becky goes after Ronda. Ronda kicks but Becky rolls her, DISARM-HER! Ronda flails and turns but Becky stays on!

Ronda drags herself back in, and goes after Charlotte. But Charlotte exploder suplexes Ronda! Becky prevents any covers to drag Charlotte in, but Charlotte throws Becky into buckles. Becky gets to the apron but Charlotte boots her down! Ronda grabs Charlotte but Charlotte kicks Ronda’s leg out.

Charlotte stomps the leg, leaving nasty bruises on it. She drags Ronda over and takes that leg to sling it against the post. Charlotte gives Ronda a post-assisted Figure Four! Ronda screams but Becky breaks the hold with a kick. Ronda rolls away while Becky whips Charlotte, only to get thrown instead. Charlotte goes back to Ronda and that leg, for a Figure Four, only for Ronda to cradle counter! TWO and Charlotte’s back on that leg! Figure Four is on, but Ronda crawls. Charlotte still gets the Figure Eight, but Becky leg drops in outta nowhere! All three women are down but New York is fired up! Fans build to a rally while Becky and Charlotte go to the apron. Becky takes this No Disqualification stipulation to the extreme with a table! New York loves where she’s going with this as she puts the table in the ring.

Becky sets the table up near a corner but Charlotte returns. Charlotte clobbers Becky into the table then bounces her off the wood. Charlotte puts Becky on the table then goes to the corner. She climbs up but Becky stops her with clubbing forearms. Becky turns around but Ronda attacks! Becky and Ronda grit their teeth and face off again! Survivor Series finally happens as they throw furious hands! Ronda throws body shots and the Shining Wizard! Ronda jackknifes through to a fireman’s carry, but that bad leg slows her down. Becky uses the Piper’s Pit for a Crucifix Pin! Becky WINS!!

Winner: Becky Lynch, by pinfall; Winner Takes All, NEW Raw & SmackDown Women’s Champion

The Man shocks the Baddest Woman with her first defeat in WWE! But more than that, she keeps her promise to the fans and herself by becoming DUAL champion! Ronda protests that her shoulders weren’t on the mat the whole time, and only instant replay catches it. But referee decisions are always final, will the McMahon Family take this into consideration? And if not, what happens next? What happens to Ronda and Charlotte now that they’re without titles? What’s next for Becky now that she’s reached the top of the WWE?

My Thoughts:

A lot of people doubted the quality of this Wrestlemania before it ever started, but I honestly feel like this did better than anyone expected. In fact, this Wrestlemania was great! The Kickoff Show had more matches than I expected, but they were all pretty solid. The Cruiserweight Championship opening was a bit of a surprise, and I thought it was gonna go a touch longer, but it actually felt just right to me. Mostly that Nese won and now we can have all sorts of fresh match-ups for the title. I wonder if Murphy goes to Raw to join Alexa… The Raw Tag Team Championships got a rather sudden match, but the stars aligned for Hawkins to break his streak. He and Ryder were in their home state, and it was the Kickoff, so the streak is over and now it’s all about defending those belts.

Both battle royals were fun, as battle royals should be. I was really rooting for Asuka, and really felt this Women’s Battle Royal would’ve revitalized her on SmackDown, and also expected Lacey Evans to be in it at all, but not even that happened. But I suppose Carmella winning it all was fine, WWE seems to really like her. The Andre the Giant Battle Royal went exactly as it should have: Strowman dominates, settles things with Jost & Che, then wins it all. Hopefully this revitalizes Strowman’s run on Raw now that titles have changed. Which was the first great thing: there were all the right title changes! Lesnar VS Rollins as a main-event opener and Rollins, though with a (very deserved) low blow, WINS! Crossfit Jesus is Raw’s savior! Demon Balor put Lashely away rather quickly, so I wonder if we get that original Universal Championship match rematch after all…

Styles rightfully wins his match with Orton, but I wonder if this ends the story at all. The same for Miz losing like that. Either of those matches could have a rematch, but it’d be hard for Miz VS Shane II to outdo this one. I was surprised The Usos retained, but they really are a top level team. A dedicated program between them and Aleister-Ricochet would be cool. The Women’s Tag Titles going to the IIconics was great, because now those titles really can be on SmackDown, and perhaps the IIconics go to Raw more often. Beth looked great, maybe The Divas of Doom can keep this return going a little longer. And I really hope Thuganomics Cena is the Cena that returns full-time, if even only for a few months. His moment with Elias was great, probably my favorite of the whole night.

The only let down tonight was Mysterio VS Joe. Not that Joe won but that Mysterio couldn’t give Joe or us a real match. Mysterio was concerned about his condition and clearly WWE knew now to push it, so Joe gets a quick win to move on. Reigns VS McIntyre was pretty great, and naturally Reigns wins. But Vince has to really be careful not to bring back bad memories of Super Roman from here on out. It’s a shame Ambrose didn’t come out to celebrate as his own moment, but it’s still yet to be seen just how serious his leaving is. The No Holds Barred was definitely brutal, and I was surprised Ric Flair showed up at all. I wonder if this kind of finish really finishes this story, but again, Batista is in Hollywood so we might have to wait for a sequel to this one.

Angle’s Farewell wasn’t want any fan wanted, but I suppose it had to be the true low point of the night for all the great things we got. Rollins winning actually made me think we weren’t getting it, but finally, finally, FINALLY Kofi Kingston is world champion! And he even brings back the classic belt! A class act for this long-awaited Grand Slam world champion, but with Money in the Bank up next, we’ll all have to worry about the cash-in for the whole year now. But just as we got Rollins and Kofi, dreading we wouldn’t get THE moment, our doubts were dispelled! Becky wins it all!! The triple threat was incredible, all the story was there, and even with a tease of controversy, we get the trifecta! That tease plants seeds of Ronda VS Becky in the future, the rest is up to Ronda and the WWE.

My Score: 9.1/10

Andrew’s TNA iMPACT! Results & Match Ratings: 2.27.2025

The card looks like a filler episode…let’s find out!

Published

on

Not completely sure how to feel about this card. It feels like a lot of fodder that probably won’t lead anywhere and just hopes that the Hardys and Oba can carry people’s interest to the end. TNA is continuing the tradition from last year of maybe having one month of decent booking and then looking blind and inept for a while. Like if you look up the definition for “The Blind Leading the Blind”, it shows you a picture of the TNA booking room.

Well let’s see if I hate this episode or if something interesting manifests.

Ratings:

  • Oro Mensah vs Mike Santana: Santana wins via Spin the Block – ** 3/4
  • Tessa Blanchard vs Kelsey Heather: Tessa wins via Buzzsaw DDT – ** 1/4
  • KC Navarro w/AJ Francis vs Steve Maclin: Maclin wins via K.I.A. – ***
  • TNA Knockouts Tag Titles: The Elegance Clique w/Personal Concierge vs Spitfire (c): Spitfire retain via Pressure Drop – ** 1/2
  • Mance Warner w/SDL vs Sami Callihan: Mance wins via DQ – N/A
  • Ace Austin vs Frankie Kazarian: Kaz wins via Slingshot Cutter – ** 1/4
  • The Hardys & Oba Femi vs Moose, Brian Myers & Eddie Edwards w/JDC & Lish: The System wis via Lights Out – ***

Results:

The System opens the show and the only one getting any real wrestling reaction is Moose gets the ole “Oba’s Gonna Kill You”. The crowd is disinterested in anything the others say, even trying to get themselves over at different points. System isn’t doing themselves any favors either because this is the most cookie cutter heel exposition promo. To add to lack of interest, The System call out The Colons to join them. Colons come out to no reaction and play the “smart heel” angle of “Why fight them when we can just join them”. So for now they’re all friends, but who knows…and Full Sail definitely doesn’t care.

Oh a Spitfire promo that is cringe. I love Dani Luna, but Jody is just Millennial Cringe as a person. Every time she speaks I get both bored and annoyed at the same time.

Oro Mensah vs Mike Santana

Sadly my browser decided to have a heart attack and disconnect after the first 20 minutes and didn’t save the already typed information. So this will be extremely abbreviated because I don’t remember exactly how it played out.

They start off with trading so Wrist Lock Arm Drags and Wringers before a few strikes give Santana the advantage, which is then immediately cut off with Oro hitting a Satellite Arm Drag. Some back and forth where Santana has the advantage, but Oro manages to counter a Back Body Drop by rolling back and Santana immediately pulls off the Rolling Buck Fifty for a two count.

Oro hits a combination of strikes, tries to hook Santana’s head for a cradle but he fights back. He hits Call of Autumn but again only a near fall. Decent back and forth but Santana punctuates things well bouncing Oro off the corner buckles and then laying him out with a Spin the Block.

Tessa Blanchard vs Kelsey Heather

Tessa comes out of the gates hot, just raining down forearms, fast and aggressive. Kelsey manages to catch Tessa with a Spinning Head Scissors and that just annoys Tessa. So a swift kick and Snap Suplex into the bottom buckle keeps the enhancement talent rocked. John Woo drop kick, Running Forearm, Whips her into the opposite corner and charges, Kelsey screams and covers up so Tessa stops and just Slaps Kelsey for good measure. A few Cradles from Kelsey gave her a moment of effort, but a Cutter into the Buzzsaw DDT and Tessa wins.

KC Navarro w/AJ Francis vs Steve Maclin

Rope run start and it’s a lot of KC dodging, misdirection and leaping over Steve. Maclin gives him a look after KC poses and acts arrogant after the one flip counter, KC sortuv apologizes and then Maclin just lights him up. No Fun Maclin beats on KC, throws him into the center of the ring and lays him out with a Sliding Lariat. KC powders, so AJ starts distracting Maclin with words, KC Stun Guns Maclin and takes the referee’s attention so AJ gets in some cheapshots and then drops him face first on the apron. AJ tries to throw in KC for the easy win, but Maclin kicks out at one.

A little more offense and a Double Stomp from KC but only a one count again. The Northern Armoury stalks down the ramp so both KC and AJ are a little distracted but KC maintains his control after a few strikes and Slingblade. But two Lariats and a Thesz Press has KC reeling, Olympic Slam gets Maclin a two count. KC manages to kick Maclin’s legs out from under him while trying to set up, KC nails the Frog Splash, but Maclin kicks out at two. 305 from KC, another Frog Splash misses, Satellite DDT attempt but Maclin holds on, smirks and kisses KC Navarro on the forehead before Deep Sixing him! Tree of Woe, Caught in the Crosshairs, K.I.A. and Steve wins.

TNA Knockouts Tag Titles: The Elegance Clique w/Personal Concierge vs Spitfire (c)

Ash and Jody start, and its…I don’t know. Posturing, a weird looking Headlock Takeover from Jody. Just…ugh, and not because of Ash. Jody tries a Rollup but only gets a one and Ash immediately tags out. Heather looks a little deer in headlights, but charges and immediately gets smashed into the Spitfire corner and they start teaming up and isolating the my size Barbie. Sliding Lariat, Fun Splash, just really quick tandem offense keeps Heather on the receiving end. Concierge distracts the ref and Jody, so Ash and Heather take advantage of the situation with Heather hitting the Codebreaker and now the Clique are isolating Jody.

Jody manages to catch Heather’s foot, kick her back, make space and simultaneous tags to Dani and Ash. Dani brutalizes Ash, throws her all around, Ash starts crawling towards Heather and Dani snaps off a great Snap German before she gets to her corner twice. Takes too long for the third and Heather manages to pull her forward into the ropes. Tandem Backstabber/Double Stomp from Elegance but Jody breaks it up. Dani manages to tag out, Jody nearly hits Pop Shove It on Heather, but she slips it, tags out but Ash hits an immediate Michinoku Driver.

Dani has really great aggression in this match, Ash tags out but Spitfire manage to crash Ash to the floor, Heather is surprised and Dani just hits the Outside IN Rope Assisted German Suplex. Heather looks out of it (purely selling), they hit the Pressure Drop and retain so now the heels need to be the Personal Concierges. Heather slowly rolls to the apron to cry with Ash that they now have to work for Spitfire.

Mance Warner w/SDL vs Sami Callihan

Warner charges at the bell, Sami sidesteps and hits a Stunner sending Mance to powder. Sami grabs a chair, starts hitting him with the chair and the match is thrown out.

This is stupid, why even say there’s gonna be a match to DQ it in 30 seconds and just do a brawl with another pull apart. You can build to a No DQ match without booking the card into a corner.

Ace Austin vs Frankie Kazarian

Ace starts quick, grounded Enzuigiri, a few quick strikes, a pop over the rope, Ace tries to outsmart Kaz but not jumping into the Cutter, but when he does Springboard Kaz just lays on the ropes to cause Ace to crash. Kaz takes full control of the situation, some simple offense into the Springboard Guillotine Leg Drop. Kaz even does the Shawn Michaels pose since Ace likes to to it. Ace fires a little with a flurry of cradles but a Wrestler’s Bridge gets Kaz out of the locomotion Cradles. Kaz tries a quick cheapshot to the leg, but Ace doesn’t stop coming forward. Click Click Boom, the Seated Lariat into 10 Count Lariats in the corner followed by the Triangle Kick sending Kaz retreating to the floor. Ace wants the Fosbury Flop but Kaz hides towards Tyson, Tyriek and Wes Lee who are at commentary.

Ace is of course somewhat distracted but laying in kicks until his temper gets the best of him and he mouths off to the heel trio. Kaz tries to take advantage, but Ace dodges and sees Wes out of the corner of his eye so he gets distracted again, Kaz Slingshots him in for the Slingshot Cutter and that’s all she wrote. Kaz wins and the NXT Trio start beating on Ace until The Rascalz run down with chairs in hand.

The Hardys & Oba Femi vs Moose, Brian Myers & Eddie Edwards w/JDC & Lish

Moose calls Oba out, looks like he wants to start off but tags out in expected heel fashion. Eddie gets tagged in and tries to shove Oba but Oba gets annoyed and throws Eddie around, Myers comes in just to eat a Double Clothesline as the Hardys then run in to lay em out over the ropes.

We come back from commercial to a Poetry in Motion and Lish get on the apron to distract the referee so let the System take some short cuts and a few quick tags but Myers is the legal on now. Isolating Jeff, Eddie gets tagged in and distracts the ref so Lish can choke Hardy from outside but Jeff hits the Jawbreaker for space. Eddie tags out to Moose, Moose tries to clear the enemy apron but only gets Oba, a Twist of Hate from Jeff  gets the time needed to tag in Matt! Matt hits the Delete Head Smashes, Tornado DDT, Side Effect…and Eddie breaks up the pin. Eddie tries to Dive on Oba but Oba catches him and Chokeslams him into the apron. Plot Twist on Moose in the ring! 1-2-Myers barely makes the save by shoving Jeff into the ref. Signature spam momentit comes down to Oba and Moose. Oba eats a Carbon Foot Print from Moose and stays standing, hits a Backbreaker to drop Moose, the Colons interfere enough for Moose to hit the Spear on Oba! Matt also eats a Spear after cracking Matt with a bejeweled ring fist and then Lights Out from Moose, The System wins!

Post-Match Elijah and Hendry run out to stop the post match beatdown. Santino Marella comes out with Sacrifice announcements. Jeff vs Moose for the X Division Title in a Ladder Match. Then a 10 man, the remnants of The System vs Matt Hardy and Joe Hendry’s choice of 3 extra dudes.

Overall Score: 4/10

This whole show dragged, the crowd was dead for most of the show, the predictable things happened and most of the stuff was very low influence. Tessa having her first match back on iMPACT in like 4 years was irrelevant, the backstage segment with her and Lei Ying Lee wasn’t bad though. The System isn’t really getting any reactions which is embarrassing when even NXT has tried to frame them decently, and the Full Sail crowd doesn’t care. The Elegances are comedy so their stuff is fine, and they’re actually somewhat enjoyable…but Spitfire…mainly Jody, is freakin useless. Mance and Sami has been directionless with no heat. Mustafa’s cabinet has some potential but already getting pitted against Santana feels like a byproduct of a bad main event/upper mid card scene.

I nearly fell asleep a few times with how boring this damn show was. It wasn’t insanely offensive, but it was sooooo…boring. Dreamer’s era of booking makes me long for the Russo years because at least the stories were interesting even if they were inane and edgy just for the sake of it. God…I didn’t think anything would make me look fondly upon Russo booking. Eww…I feel dirty…I’m going to sleep now.

The young Chilean star makes her ROH debut, bringing her impressive CMLL résumé with her. As such, she is already waiting for her title match against THE ROH Women’s World Champion, Athena! Athena speaks.

“Congratulations, Catalina. You earned a first class ticket to the Athena World Domination Tour. You beat the little popsicle in your match, I hear you’re one of the best female wrestlers in CMLL. BUT… But you did something wrong. When you come into my show, into my house, you have to introduce yourself. ‘Hola! Como estas, Athena?’ And I say, ‘Bien! Y tu?’ And then I walk away ’cause I don’t care. I am the most dominant champion in all of history! I am the longest-reigning champion in ALL of ROH! You put some respect on my name! I am tired of you b*tches coming into my house and trying to take over my show, without showing a little, little generosity, a little politeness. Manners is what we call them.

“So, I’m gonna give you a little bit of time, girl. And the next time you see me… I won’t be so nice.” Athena has put Catalina on notice, but this match is happening next week! Will Catalina respectfully dethrone the Forever Champion? Or will she be sent back to CMLL with an L?

Volador gets in, catches Dorada, and Soberano runs up. Dorada mule kicks Soberano, body shots, Volador, then RANA ARM-DRAG COMBOS them both away! The fans fire up but Magnus helps Soberano up. Dorado dodges them, then uses Magnus’ backdrop to FLYING ARM-DRAG Soberano!

Feed to Volador’s SUPERKICK! Cover, TWO! Atlantis toughs it out but Volador is amused.

Volador wrenches Atlantis, brings him around, and tags Soberano in. The fans rally up, but Soberano and team keep Atlantis back. Soberano uses Atlantis’ own hand to flip off the fans! Then he BITES that finger! The fans boo, the ref reprimands, but he also has to keep Dorada y Templario storming in. Soberano whips Atlantis, his team TRIPLE BOOTS him down! LUCHA!” Both men crawl, hot tag to Soberano! Soberano goes up to TORNILLO ATTACK! Soberano keeps moving, Templario drop toeholds him into buckles! Then a YANK into the WHEELBARROW GERMAN! Both men are down, Templario manages the high stack, TWO! The fans fire up again, and Templario rises. Templario brings Soberano up, but Soberano SOBATS! KICKS! And CHOPS!

Soberano runs, but into a FLAPJACK BOMB!?! The fans are electric over that one! Templario crawls, as does Soberano. “This is Awesome!” as Templario spinaroonis again! Hot tags to Magnus and Atlantis! But Magnus runs right up to BLAST Atlantis y Dorada! The fans boo as Magnus CHOPS Templario, whips him to Voladro, drop toehold and 619! Then a SUPERKICK! Soberano joins in, POP-UP RANA! Soberano then FLIES, the Fosbury Flop takes out Templario! But Dorada FLYING RANAS Volador! Volador tumbles out, Dorada builds speed, and he TORNILLOS onto Volador! He keeps going, though, and he INSIDE-OUT RANAS Soberano!

Atlantis and Magnus jump in as the legal men, and Atlantis dodges Magnus to SNAP POWERSLAM! Atlantis goes up, out, and to the top! FROG SPLASH!! Cover, TEAM ATLANTIS WINS!

Winners: Mascara Dorada, Templario & Atlantis Jr, by pinfall

Like father, like son, the Atlantis Family has won the night! Atlantis Jr. was once ROH World Television Champion, could he find his way back to that title? Could he, Dorada y Templario find their way to the ROH World Six Man Tag titles?

My Thoughts:

A great ROH here with another CMLL crossover, but not a lot of story stuff. This was just an hour and 11 minutes of great wrestling. Though, there’s nothing wrong with enjoying great wrestling, especially under the AEW banner of “Where The Best Wrestle.” Also, this does coincide with NJPW having their Fantastica Mania series, aka their crossover with CMLL. I will say Blake Christian beating Fuego Del Sol was a touch surprising, because Fuego is on his own return push. At the same time, Blake is on a streak, and he is primed for an ROH World TV Championship match with this win.

I do appreciate that what story we did get had to do with setting up title matches. Komander will be facing Dark Panther, so great win for Panther against Gravity. La Catalina also got a very good win over Lady Frost, and Athena had a very good promo to call her out. Athena will certainly beat Catalina, there’s no way Athena is dropping the title on a regular episode of ROH TV after going two years and winning twice against Billie Starkz. Panther could beat Komander given ROH has been looser with the TV title. But as I brought up, Blake is in line for something, so Komander could make it through Panther to then have a killer match with Blake.

My Score: 8.7/10
