Six Man Tag: The Forgotten Sons VS Humberto Carrillo, Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch!
Last week, The One Two Combination were not going to stand by as Jaxson Ryker brutalize Ultimo Ninja, and came out swinging with chairs! Now this trio of high-flying and hard-hitting moves will take on Ryker, Cutler & Blake all at once! Will the Forgotten Sons continue to #DoUntoOthers? Or will they come to regret it with their first loss?
The teams sort out and Cutler starts against Oney. Fans are on Oney’s side but Cutler puts Oney in the corner with a mudhole stomp! The ref counts and Cutler backs off at 4 to trash talk Burch. But Oney comes back with CHOP after CHOP! Cutler kicks low and whips Oney corner to corner. Oney elbows back then hops up, but Cutler gets under. Oney comes back with a blockbuster! Ryker gives Carrillo the same! Then with Ryker holding both Carrillo and Burch, DOUBLE Memory Remains! Cover, The Forgotten Sons win!
Winners: The Forgotten Sons, Wesley Blake pinning
Blake may have gotten the pin but all three men won this match together. With such strong teamwork, will the Forgotten Sons soon hold gold?
NXT Media catches up with Shayna & The Horsewomen.
Cathy Kelly asks if they feel any remorse over what they did to Kairi Sane & Io Shirai in back-to-back weeks, but clearly, they don’t. The remorse is buried in the sand with the pirate and her little friend. Or perhaps this is payback for having lost to Io Shirai without having pinned her back. Shayna slaps the mic away because the interview is over. Will the Queen of Spades only look to further crush the Genius of the Sky into the ground?
Bianca Belair and Mia Yim have a confrontation!
It was at the WWE Performance Center just earlier this week as the EST trash talks the HBIC. The other talents try to keep the peace but Bianca and Mia won’t back down. Mia wants Bianca to back up her words, but Bianca says, “Gurl. Uh-uh.” Bianca tells the cameras to back out of her face, but this match IS happening! Who will use this opportunity to prove they’re more worthy of a shot at the NXT Women’s Champion?
Dominik Dijakovic VS Mansoor!
The Rare Breed wants to be the #1 contender to the North American Championship, and called out Velveteen Dream as much last time. Meanwhile, the Saudi stud makes his NXT (USA) TV debut! Will Manny get a major upset in his first Full Sail match? Or will the Croatian Colossus crush Manny’s dream and #FeastHisEyes on the contendership he wants?
The bell rings and Manny ducks the cyclone boot! Manny headlocks but Dijakovic powers out. Dijakovic boots again but Manny gets under it. Manny headlocks again but Dijakovic back suplexes out. Manny lands on his feet and gets another headlock, but Dijakovic powers him to a corner. The ref counts but Dijakovic grinds his forearm in. Manny slips out and chops, but it doesn’t hurt Dijakovic! Dijakovic grabs Manny around the throat but Manny fights back. Manny clubs and elbows free and then leaps for a huricanrana that sends Dijakovic into buckles! Fans rally as Manny runs back in for a jump kick! Dijakovic staggers while Manny climbs. Manny leaps but into Dijakivoc’s arms! Dijakovic knees Manny then THROWS him out!

Manny gets to a corner and hops up, but into a SUPERKICK! Dijakovic keeps Manny on his feet long enough to forearm and CHOP away. He kicks and LARIATS! Dijakovic shouts “Feast Your Eyes!” before giving Manny the very move! High stack cover, Dijakovic wins!
Winner: Dominik Dijakovic, by pinfall
But to add insult to injury, he throws Manny out of the ring. Dijakovic wants to feast on gold, so here comes that very North American Champion he wants. Velveteen Dream is still on his couch as he has new ladies with him. “Dominik, Velveteen heard that you had some words for The Dream.” But Dream has words for him. Words so true, they’re red, white and blue. But if they’re to do this right, they need music. And it’s the National Dream Anthem! The lyrics recount the recent victories Dream had, while also declaring this Dream’s NXT. Full Sail loved his performance. “And just like that, Dominik, Dream Over.” Is that a yes or a no to Dominik’s challenge?
The Undisputed Era speaks.
“Well boys, it’s official. Johnny Gargano is literally the luckiest man in the history of NXT.” It’s obscene! But he’s also on borrowed time. This isn’t even about last week, but about next week. Next week, Adam Cole will show Matt Riddle what the Undisputed is about. That’s because they are stronger than they’ve ever been. They’re badder, tougher, and more focused! They’ll worry about the future, not the past and how Roddy dropped the ball. Whoa, wait, what? Cole didn’t mean anything by it. But Strong still storms out on the others. What he can’t take a joke? Yeah he can but that was awful timing. Fish goes to find Strong but Kyle tells Cole they’ll get through this. The Undisputed Dysfunction continues, will it ruin Cole’s battle with the King of Bros?
Kushida VS Kassius Ohno!
The Wrestling Genius head about the Time Splitter coming to NXT, so he came all the way back from the UK to “welcome” him to Full Sail! But will KO learn why Kushida is the hottest international acquisition to date?
Fans are fired up for Kushida but Ohno pretends not to hear them. Kushida wants a handshake, but Ohno kicks his hand away. Ohno talks trash and then they tie up with Kushida. Ohno waistlocks and throws Kushida to a corner. He mocks the handshake offer now but Kushida comes back. They go around again and tie up. Ohno slips through to a headlock and grinds Kushida down, but Kushida pries free to float over and wristlock. Ohno rolls and spins around to slip in to a cravat. He arm-drags Kushida to a chinlock but Kushida endures. Ohno switches to a stretch on the arms, but fans rally up. Kushida powers against Ohno to turn the stretch back onto him. Ohno slips out but Kushida headlocks. Kushida shifts to a wristlock to a drop toehold to a facelock.
Ohno rolls but Kushida hangs on. Kushida floats around all over Ohno then pats him on the back. Fans cheer as they rush each other. Ohno blocks Kushida’s hip toss and pushes him to the mat, but Kushida gets clear of the leg drop! Kushida then cartwheels and dropkicks Ohno down! Kushida standing moonsaults, but into a cravat! Ohno wrenches but Kushida rolls to roll Ohno to a cover, TWO! Ohno sweeps and covers, but Kushida gets right out, and now the two stand off! Fans cheer, but are then surprised to see Ohno kneel and admit Kushida is good. Kushida doesn’t believe Ohno’s handshake, but still accepts it. Ohno uses it to whip and BOOT Kushida! Kushida is dazed, Ohno boot washes him further down.
Fans rally up Kushida as Ohno stomps him more. Ohno drops a knee then covers, TWO! Kushida checks his nose while Ohno stalks him. Fans rally up and Ohno brings Kushida up to CHOP him on the ropes. Kushida flounders and falls against Ohno but Ohno drags Kushida back up. Ohno whips but Kushida holds the ropes to boot Ohno back. Kushida ends up on the apron and enziguris Ohno away! Kushida springboard tomahawk chops! Ohno staggers but Kushida runs around the world to dropkick Ohno’s arm! Kushida prepares the pitch, but his buzzsaw misses. Ohno lifts Kushida in the Electric Chair, but Kushida fights back. Ohno still tosses Kushida for the Electric Chair facebuster! Cover, TWO!! Kushida has a bloody nose but he survives!
Ohno mocks Kushida and says he doesn’t belong. Fans boo but Kushida fights back and buckle shots Ohno down! Fans fire up now as Kushida drags himself up. Kushida springboards and huricanranas to a cover, TWO!! Kushida goes back to Ohno and throws forearms. Fans rally behind him as he kicks. Ohno blocks one but gets a BIG right hand! Kushida shakes Ohno’s hand now before slapping him. Kushida whips but Ohno reverses, only for Kushida to handspring through, only to get an elbow! Ohno covers, TWO!! Kushida lives and flounders to ropes. Fans rally up but Ohno runs in, to BOOT Kushida! Kushida rests on the ropes but Ohno takes off the elbow pad. Ohno runs, but into the FAST BALL!! Kushida almost breaks his own hand, but he takes aim to Penalty Kick out Ohno’s arm! Then a tilt-o-whirl, inot the Hoverboard Kimura! Ohno taps, Kushida wins!!
Winner: Kushida, by submission
The Time Splitter was too much for the Wrestling Genius! Kushida has his first win in NXT, is this just the beginning of a streak?
My Thoughts:
A great episode right here! And again, with little time wasted. The opening Six Man Tag was great, Carrillo gelled well with Lorcan & Burch for this being their first time teaming, but naturally the Forgotten Sons being the established trio, they win out. As I wondered last week, the War/Viking Raiders might just drop the belts so they can go to Raw “full-time”. Perhaps the Forgotten Sons capitalize and defeat other teams to win the vacated tag titles. Ryker meanwhile is obviously more suited to the North American Championship at this point. Dijakovic VS Mansoor was great for Manny’s NXT USA debut (his NXT UK debut was earlier today), he really got to show some heart for his first time out.
But naturally, Dijakovic wins given his push towards the North American Championship. Dream’s rewritten Star Spangled Banner was pretty clever, and I think part of the humor is that he’s not the best singer. I’m pretty sure this was Dream’s way of accepting, and Dream VS Dijakovic will be great. The story of Shayna VS Shirai is still building, and that interview promo from Shayna was spot-on for her character. Mia Yim VS Bianca Belair next week will be good action, but I don’t expect it to set up another contender for Shayna. And even if it did, I’d expect it to be Mia then because she hasn’t had as many opportunities as Bianca.
The Undisputed Era’s dysfunction story is going well. Adam Cole always seems to get himself in trouble with whatever team he’s joined, and he might be doing that here. He still has Kyle more on his side than Fish, but maybe that changes after Cole’s match with Riddle. It might even come down to Cole VS Strong, winner challenges Gargano while loser is out of the Undisputed Era. Kushida VS Ohno was incredible, but both guys are obviously capable of that, so putting them together would give us nothing less. Obviously Kushida was going to win, you can sign such a big name and have him lose the debut. I wouldn’t mind a rematch of them while we wait for a title story to wrap up. Kushida’s a shoe-in for the North American, but could believably go after the top title in my eyes.
My Score: 8.6

It’s the WWE Backlash Countdown Show!
Join Michael Cole, Wade Barrett & Big E in discussing, analyzing and predicting all the action on this highly anticipated night!
Backstage interview with Lyra Valkyria.
Byron Saxton is with The Morrigan and asks how she is feeling tonight. She looked up to Becky Lynch for so long, only for her to stab her in the back. And at the same time, Lyra has dedicated this match to Bayley. How is Lyra going to manage all her emotions? Lyra says there is so much going on in her head, but the way to deal with it is focusing on the main emotion: embarrassment. She gave herself “the ick” looking back and seeing how she ate everything Becky fed her. Becky would’ve had a friend for life in Lyra, but then Becky turned on her. And what did The Man expect? For Lyra to run home to Dublin and cry?
No! That shows Lyra that Becky underestimated her. Lyra meant it when she said she is the better wrestler now. Becky may still be the bigger star, but when that bell rings, Lyra will show that she was never a stepping stone. Becky becomes Lyra’s stepping stone, as well as the crowning name on the long list of opponents when Lyra retains the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Lyra is locked in, but will the Luck of the Irish favor her in the end?
Vic Joseph joins the panel!
The Voice of NXT helps plug Battleground, but he also gives Lyra her props. From NXT UK to NXT USA, Vic has seen Lyra achieve her potential every step of the way. The NXT Women’s Championship match between Lyra and Becky was all about someone from the NXT roster stepping up and proving herself, and Lyra did just that. Lyra took the NXT Women’s title off Becky, but will Lyra keep the Women’s Intercontinental title from Becky? Or is #BeckyHogan going to step on Lyra to get ahead?
