Andrew’s G1 Climax 29 Primer: Best Matches

The G1 Climax 29 is on the home stretch all weekend! If you’re behind, use this as a shortcut to catch up!

Wrestling this coming weekend is surely over flowing. G1 Block Finals, NXT Takeover, SummerSlam, G1 Grand Finals and I think ROH has something going on as well. So with everyone’s time being rationed, I figured it would be an alright idea to just list out the best matches, so far, from the G1.

So for anyone dragging their feet, or significantly behind for other reasons, here’s the quality abridged version! The list is anything I rated 4 or higher throughout the tournament. Unsurprisingly, the list consists of 25 matches, and out of the 80 wrestled up to this date, that’s a pretty good percentage.

• Night 1: Block A: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Kazuchika Okada: Okada wins via Rainmaker @22:10 – ****

We still have 11 matches left and with more on the line, that should insure a few more additions to the list. Speaking of 11, we can see Night 11 is the only one without a match on the list. If I remember correctly, 2 matches got *** 3/4, so it barely missed. So even the down nights are still pretty damn good.

Now let’s just sit back and see how the dust settles…especially in B Block.
