Would you jump out of a plane without a parachute? Would you stand in the ring against Lance Archer and think you’ve got a prayer of winning? All three scenarios end the same: you’re done. Quit playing games, quit making wishes. We all saw what happened to poor Marko Stunt. And it happened because no one else wanted it. Stunt thought he could prove he was a man. It’s better than to be thought a fool than to take action and erase all doubt. Marko Stunt is an idiot.
But Cody, please don’t let this slip away. The Snake says Cody might just lose. He almost expects Cody to lose, like a little mistake, so that he won’t have to face Archer. Is Cody a man or a mouse? Squeak up and tell us. Strong words from the living legend, but he perhaps has a point. Will Cody fight The Chair Man, fully knowing the Murderhawk awaits on the other side of the bracket?

Speaking of the Murderhawk, he’s back for more! He goes to the ring and annihilates his opponent on the way to posing in the corner! The bell rings as Archer takes off his jacket and the assault continues. Archer drags his opponent up to LARIAT him back down! Archer puts Angels in the corner and CHOPS! Angels flops down and everyone is stinging. Archer drags Angels up to CLUB him down! Archer toys with Angels before bringing him back up to whip. Angels ducks the boot to kick away at the leg and throw fast hands! Archer feeds off it, and then clamps on a choke grip! For a TOSS!! Archer goes corner to corner for a big back elbow! Angels flounders about but Archer drags him up, for the BLACK OUT BOMB!! Cover, Archer wins!

Hikaru Shida VS Britt Baker!
The Samurai is still #1 contender, but The Dentist is back in the ring. Will Britt pull the fangs from the fierce warrior? Or will she need to do some work on herself after tonight?
The bell rings and the two circle. Baker dodges the tie up and jokingly wants Shida to stay calm. They circle again and Baker again dodges to mule kick. But Shida rushes her and Baker scrambles for ropes. Baker plays it like she wasn’t startled, but Shida waits for her to return. Baker pushes Shida so Shida pushes back. The pushing continues but Shida swings a clothesline. Baker ducks it and grabs hair to bump Shida off buckles! Shida stops Baker short of 10, and grabs Baker’s wrist. Shida throws big forearms and whips. Baker holds ropes to deny the dropkick, then she bails out. Sammy Guevara and the wrestlers on that side of the ring cheer as Baker leads Shida on a cat ‘n’ mouse.
Shida keeps her cool as Baker gets in the ring first. The other side of the audience is on Shida’s side, but Baker stomps Shida the moment she’s back in the ring. Shida and Baker scrap and Baker gets Shida down for a stomp. Baker pulls on Shida’s hair then kicks her in the back. The ref reprimands Baker but Shida pulls hair, too! The ref reprimands them both but Shida has Baker in the corner. Shida lets up at 4 and Baker sits down in the corner. Baker kicks back then throws knees. Baker runs to Famouser leg drop! She even mocks Billy Gunn, who is ringside. Cover, TWO! Billy says he would’ve won off his.
Baker rains down right hands on Shida! Baker drags Shida up into the corner to choke! The ref reprimands and Baker lets up at 4. But Baker chokes Shida with a foot while arguing with the ref. Baker runs side to side for a boot wash! She drags Shida to a cover, TWO! Billy Gunn and his side cheer Shida on but Baker puts Shida on the ropes. Baker chokes Shida until the ref counts 4. Baker motorcycle stretches and boots Shida into ropes! Then she goes out to the apron to SUPERKICK Shida back in! Baker sits with Shida like they’re good friends, and she smiles at the camera. Baker tells Schiavone to say the AEW Women’s Divisoin belongs to her. But she turns around into Shida’s kick!
Shida fires up as she lets the hair down. She whips Baker but Baker reverses and sends Shida into railing! Baker runs in but into a boot! Shida flapjacks Baker along the railing, then has the others hold Baker there! Shida runs for a BIG knee lift! Jericho protests on commentary but Shida drags Baker up for a suplex to the floor! Shida has the audience fired up as AEW goes to break.
AEW returns and Shida takes aim. She drags Baker up for a suplex! Cover, TWO! Shida roars in frustration but she won’t let up. Shida runs but Baker ducks the Shining Wizard to roll her up! TWO in to a triangle hold! Shida thrashes Baker but Baker moves around. Baker reaches and gets the ropebreak! Shida lets go quick and drags Baker up. She whips but Baker reverses to reel her in. Shida fights the DDT but Baker dodges to SLING BLADE! Baker has Shida up, butterfly suplex! Cover, TWO!! Shida survives and Baker grimaces. Baker gets up and stomps Shida back down. She kicks at Shida then stomps her down. Baker drags Shida up, has an arm, and hits a Russian Leg Sweep! Into the Rings of Saturn! She wants the jaw but Shida gets the ropebreak with a foot!
Shida and Baker reset but Baker brings Shida up. Shida throws a haymaker but Baker gives it back! We have a brawl as Shida hits again. Baker checks her teeth but throws another hand. Shida clubs Baker so Baker fires off a flurry! Baker steps back, but Shida enziguris! Baker SUPERKICKS! Both women flounder about, and Baker has a bloody nose! Baker still spins Shida but Shida slips out to spin Baker! Shida suplexes, for the FALCON ARROW! Cover, but Baker rolls it back! TWO, but Baker rolls Shida around! Rings of Saturn! She takes one of the ref’s gloves, but Shida rolls the hold to a cover! TWO and SHINING WIZARD!! Baker is dazed and bloody but Shida keeps on her. Baker blocks the suplex and spins through to swinging fisherman! Cover, TWO!!
Shida is up, but Baker SUPERKICKS! Baker drags Shida back up, grinning through her bloody nose! Baker puts Shida on the ropes and makes her bite the cable! She wants to give her the same treatment as Yuka Sakazaki, but Shida evades! Shida dumps Baker out but Baker stays on the apron. Baker and Shida brawl with the ropes between them. Shida throws a heavy elbow then drags Baker up to the top rope! Baker blocks the suplex to rake the eyes! And a SUPERKICK to the legs sends Shida down! Baker climbs up but Shida joins her! Kenny Omega talks with Michael Nakazawa about tonight’s match card. They’re teaming up after about seven years. They were a great team back in DDT Pro. But they need a team name for tonight. Any ideas? Nakazawa says the Best Friends. No, that’s Trent and Chuckie T. They’re very popular, so you can’t just take their name. Yeah but that’s what they are. They’re best friends, Omega is an EVP, he can do something about it. Omega gets what he’s saying, and will look into it. But then, Orange Cassidy walks out of a closet? The Sloth opens the door to the trailer, and in walk THE Best Friends! Trent and Chuck Taylor heard what they said. These two think they’re better best friends? They want to take their name?! Their livelihood?! Trent and Chuckie have FAMILIES, Kenny!
Omega and Nakazawa explain it is a misunderstanding. But then The Best Friends put their tag name on the line! A normal match now has high stakes for one side. Omega blames Nakazawa for this. But the match is what it is, who will be THE Best Friends of AEW?
It’s the AEW Rankings Report!
First, the Tag Team Division: At #5, it’s The Best Friends! Trent Baretta pushed Kenny Omega in their 1v1 match last week, and now they put their nickname on the line! At #4, two-thirds of Death Triangle, it’s the Lucha Brothers! Rey Fenix and Pentagon stay strong even while PAC is away. At #3, the inaugural AEW World Tag Team Champions, it’s Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky of SoCal Uncensored, SCU! At #2, though recovering to 100% health, it’s Nick and Matt Jackson, the Young Bucks! And at #1, to the delight of “Mr. Brodie” Lee, it’s the Dark Order’s Evil Uno and Stu Grayson! Will this devious duo be the ones to reach the current champions, Kenny Omega and Hangman Page?
Next, the Women’s Division. At #5, the original champion, Riho! Currently at #4 but coming off a loss tonight, it’s Britt Baker. At #3, the Magical Girl, Yuka Sakazaki! At #2, the Galaxy’s Greatest Alien, Kris Statlander! And especially after that big win over Baker tonight, #1 is Hikaru Shida! Will this stay the way it is on the way to a shot at the Native Beast?
And lastly, the Men’s Singles Division. At #5, fueled by his hunger for vengeance, it’s Darby Allin! At #4 it is the AEW World Tag Team and AAA Mega Champion, Kenny Omega! Will he stay that way against Best Friends tonight? At #3, it is the American Nightmare, Cody! Will he be headed towards the TNT Championship? Dropping to #2, it is Le Champion, Chris Jericho! Because the undefeated Jake Hager IS the #1 contender! The Big Hurt and the Maniac will settle their score as contender takes on champion in a NO HOLDS BARRED title match! Will Hager go from #1 to THE ONE in AEW?

Jon Moxley knows that neither he nor Hager are in “the business of putting smiles on people’s faces.” This is going to be an ugly, violent fight. Because next week, these two fighters go all out for the top prize. Hager doesn’t want to be champion for the love of the sport. He wants to be champion because it pays more. Moxley feels fans don’t understand the kind of pain one must endure to vanquish someone like Hager. But Empty Arena or not, we’ll see it. Two of AEW’s fiercest fight in Moxley’s first defense that is also AEW’s first Empty Arena No Holds Bared match.
Mrs. Catalina Hager says they are a “house of winners.” If Jake doesn’t come home the winner, then he doesn’t come home. That’s their motto: work hard, play hard, win or don’t even bother. Jake appreciates his wife sacrificing for his sake of stepping into the cage or the wrestling ring. Moxley meanwhile faced the best and proved he’s the best. He is not ashamed to say that he likes dealing damage. AEW Revolution was Moxley’s biggest win so far when he dethroned Chris Jericho. But Hager was waiting in the shadows. Hager knew Moxley’s reign wasn’t going to last, but even he is surprised he’ll be the one to end it. Timing is everything in combat sports, and this is Hager’s time. Hager’s in the best shape of his life, and that dates back to his college days.
“None of this was supposed to happen.” Hager was set to have a Bellator fight on May 9th. He has been in fight camp since February, so now, just a week away from No Holds Barred, Hager promises us this: fans will see Jon Moxley get hit harder than he has ever been hit before. Hager is putting in more time than anyone ever. No one has done MMA and pro-wrestling at the same time quite like Hager. He is THE crossover fighter success. Once he wins the AEW World Championship, Bellator follows. It is no secret as to why he is in the Inner Circle and AEW: he’s money. The undefeated fighter is perhaps the most unique opponent for Moxley.
Moxley admits that when Hager got up from the Paradigm Shift, a move Moxley has perfected and used to drop “just about everybody in this business with,” it was like a monster movie. It humbled Moxley, but it will not scare Moxley. No Holds Barred changes the game. Hager vows to be a dual champion across two companies. They don’t get paid by the hour, so whether it is three minutes or thirty, “it is going to be hell.” No one wakes up thinking they can do both MMA and pro-wrestling, so Hager succeeding at it is amazing. Moxley promises we will hear and see every second of hell both men are going to go through. But who comes out the other side as THE top fighter in AEW?

Cody says that “this is something that Warner Media really wanted.” How different is that in wrestling? That in itself is representative of what AEW is for pro-wrestling. Cody feels that he is fortunate to be included, but it is because he kept working, kept winning and kept in the top five singles competitor rankings. But that goes for everyone. Shawn Spears says that everyone in AEW wants to go to the top. But the problem is that there is X amount of guys, X amount of time and X amount of spots. One by one, Spears will pick them all off.
It is rather storybook that while Cody can no longer compete for the World Championship, that he is included in this new title’s tournament. Spears isn’t worried about facing Cody in the first round. They’ve both waited eight months for a rematch from All Out last August. Cody has the scar from that chair shot to remind him every day. But Spears has been doing this to Cody since OVW. Why did Spears do it? He doesn’t have to explain himself, other than it was for the right reasons. And that he’d do it again in a heartbeat. Spears wants his redemption in this rematch, and it’ll be for a prize. Cody has has a 15-year overnight success, but Spears builds one match at a time. Spears will make history and that can never be taken from him. Does that happen for the Chair Man here tonight?
Kenny Omega & Michael Nakazawa VS Best Friends w/ Orange Cassidy!
Hangman Page is Omega’s normal tag partner, and only they can put up the AEW World Tag titles. However, a different title has been put up tonight: the title of Best Friends! Will Trent and Chuckie T defend that honor with everything they have? Or will the Best Bout Machine and the oil master take it all away?
The teams sort out and Spears is in the audience. He still wants tag team #PERFECT10N on the side, so he’s barking at Nakazawa not to use that oil. Omega and Trent jaw at each other, both men remembering that showdown just last week. But Chuckie steps up to start with Omega at the bell. The two circle and tie up. They go around, Chuck puts Omega on the ropes but Omega breaks free. Chuck backs off and the two circle again. They tie up, Omega wristlocks and wrenches the arm. Omega cranks back but Chuckie standing switches before the hammerlock. Omega pries free to wrench out and headlock. Chuckie powers out but Omega runs him over! Things speed up, Chuckie hurdles and arm-drags! And again!
Chuckie has Omega in the armlock and the audience applauds. Omega gets up but Chuckie wrenches. Tag to Trent and Trent climbs to drop ax handles. Trent wrenches the arm but Omega gets free. Nakazawa tags in and the audience fires up. Spears wants to be impressed and Nakazawa ties up with Trent. Trent puts Nakazawa on the ropes but Nakazawa turns it around. Nakazawa lets up, to CHOP Trent! Trent stares Nakazawa down to CHOP back! Nakazawa oils up! Trent chops but it slips off! And again! The oil is a shield against chops! Tag to Omega and they drag Trent up. Nakazawa scoops slams Trent down and “We Can Do It!” They stomp Trent then strike their police poses. Chuckie T runs in but Nakazawa atomic drops and then Omega Manhattan drops him.
Nakazawa throws Chuckie T down and Omega runs, for a Kotaru Krusher on Nakazawa? It slams Nakazawa’s head into Chuckie’s T! Chuckie bails out and Omega drags Trent up into the corner. Omega clubs away on Trent’s back but the ref counts. He lets up at 4 but comes back for more stomps. Omega spins Trent around and Nakazawa pulls Trent to the post! Nakazawa grabs the legs and shouts, “Nova Train!” He starts running and pulls Trent into the post! Trent endures the torture while AEW goes to break.
AEW returns and Omega drags Trent up. Tag to Nakazawa and he runs at Chuckie T. Chuckie backs off but Nakazawa clubs Trent on the back. Nakazawa hoists Trent onto the top rope to saddle him. He oils up the ropes, to give Trent the ol’ “Hentai Slide!” It still burns. Nakazawa then bounces Trent up and off and hits an atomic drop! Cover, TWO! Spears does not understand the oil obsession. Nakazawa stomps Trent and tags in Omega. The audience rallies for Trent as Omega brings him up. Omega throws elbows to the back and clubs him down. Omega runs to drop an elbow then covers, ONE! Trent sits up but Omega is on him with a chinlock. The audience rallies again and Trent fights his way up. Trent elbows and body shots free, then runs, but Omega follows. Trent LARIATS Omega down!
The rallying continues as Billy and Austin Gunn lead the cheers. Hot tags to Chuckie and Nakazawa! The Kentucky Gentleman rallies on the Miniskirt Police! Chuckie throws forearms on Nakazawa then on Omega. Omega kicks back then regroups with Nakazawa. They whip Chuckie corner to corner, then Nakazawa whips Omega in. Chuckie goes up over, then drop toeholds Nakazawa into Omega’s Best Bout Machine! Nakazawa staggers up but Trent clotheslines him out! The Best Friends DOUBLE PESCADO! They take down Omega and Nakazawa, and Orange Cassidy rolls in! They all HUG- NO! Omega and Nakazawa take Trent and Chuckie out! Nakazawa and Omega go for the hug, but Cassidy moves out of the way. Shame on you, Sloth.
But then Trent and Chuckie attack! They throw Omega out and double whip Nakazawa. Nakazawa breaks the line but misses the flying lariats! Chuckie and Trent surround Nakazawa, but he sprays them in the face with the oil! Cassidy gets back in but his sunglasses block the oil. Nakazawa takes the glasses and throw them away! But Cassidy has a spare pair! Cassidy dodges Nakazawa to DIVE onto Omega! Trent is on Nakazawa with the TORNADO DDT! Cover, TWO!! Nakazawa flounders to the corner and Trent runs in for a big back elbow! Trent runs but Nakazawa dodges to SPEAR! Both men are down but the audience rallies. Hot tags to Omega and Chuckie T!
Omega rallies now but Trent dodges the Polish hammer. Trent whips but misses in the corner. Omega puts Trent on the ropes but Chuckie makes a save. Chuckie whips but Omega counters to a fireman’s carry. “YOU! CAN’T! ESCAPE!” Rolling senton for Chuckie, draping BACK STABBER for Trent! Chuckie flounders up, into the full nelson! Trent runs in but Omega lets Chuckie go to SNAP DRAGON SUPLEX Trent! Omega fires up, runs at Chuckie, but gets a Sexy Knee! Trent runs for the PSYCHO KNEE! Best Friends fire up and bring Omega up, pop-up POWERBOMB! Cover, but Nakazawa breaks it! Chuckie stomps Nakazawa out of the ring then tags Trent in. The audience is fired up as Trent brings Omega up. Alabama lift but Omega powers out! Omega BUCKLE BOMBS Trent!
Nakazawa grabs Chuckie for a SUPER OLYMPIC SLAM!! Spears loves it but Cassidy panics! Tag to Nakazawa and Omega drags Trent to an Electric Chair. MINISKIRT DOOMSDAY! Cover, but Chuckie breaks it in time! Omega clubs Chuckie and throws him out. Nakazawa brings down his jockstrap!! The Ultimate Venom is prepared, but Trent blocks it! Trent kicks low, but misses the clothesline! THE ULTIMATE VENOM CLAW! “He’s gonna puuuke!” V-TRIGGER!! ULTIMATE VENOM SLAM!! Cover, but Chuckie gets in to break it! Omega throws Chuck back out and Nakazawa stalks Trent. Nakazawa wristlock ripcords Trent, but Trent escapes! Trent sends the Ultimate Venom into Omega!! The name stays! But everyone hugs it out because there’s no hard feelings. Will Trent & Chuck Taylor head up those tag team rankings to challenge Omega and Hangman in the near future?
AEW hears from Mr. Brodie Lee.
The Exalted One pulls up in his Mercedes and looks at his minions. Do these gentlemen understand that perception is reality? Yes? Then why are two of them dressed the way they are, and the third is in a nice suit and tie? Brodie sends them out into the world, so what does the world think of them looking like this? They look like “them.” What do they think is the perception when they walk through an airport like this? Power? Wealth? No. Look at yourselves, then look at this guy here. Brodie Lee is here to make every single life he touches extraordinary. Do they understand that?
When it gets laborious, when it becomes a sacrifice, that means you’re looking at the exit ramp, not the highway. The next sign reads “unlimited power, unlimited success.” Do they understand that? Then get your act together and show him that they want it. As for the well-dressed Creeper, Mr. Brodie gives him a special opportunity. They walk inside the arena, leaving the other two out of the loop.

The Dentist is able to smile despite the loss and the bloody nose that finally stopped bleeding. Does she feel Shida lived up to the #1 rank she holds? Nope! Being #1 means being a leader and a role model! Shida played dirty, because just look at Baker! Baker lost so much blood in that match! Shida is the dirtiest wrestler in AEW, but she is lucky nothing happened to Baker’s teeth. But Baker could still fix them herself, because duh, she’s a dentist.
AEW continues the profile of Moxley VS Hager.
“As AEW’s only crossover athlete from the MMA world, Hager’s submission game has already demonstrated its dominance in the AEW ring.” His arm-triangle put away Dustin Rhodes at AEW Revolution, and smothered Moxley in the attack on AEW Dark. Hager has been a champion all his life. Either you want it or you just let it pass by. He is disciplined, trained and knowledgeable. Catalina is confident this title match will be a walk in the park. A big part of Hager wants to be AEW World Champion. But not for fame or ego, but to provide for those who supported him. Hager will take care of his family, because his beautiful wife deserves it.
Moxley knows he is up against a man who could end his career in a snap. But he promises that they will beat the absolute hell out of each other. It will not be for the faint of heart. Hager is a winner, and winners are champions. The Inner Circle have been instrumental in Hager reaching this point. They have taught him so much, because each one brings something different to the group. It was all something Hager needed, and we will see it all play out starting with No Holds Barred. But the question is: does Hager have what it takes to dig down deeper than Moxley? An Empty Arena will not stop both undefeated men in this collision course.
No one is more suited for this fight than them. Hager promises Moxley walks in champion but doesn’t walk out, period. Moxley promises that signing up for a match with him, “there’s no running, there’s no hiding.” No judges, no score cards, no way out! You go through Moxley or lose! Hager says reality will settle in for Moxley, and that reality is spelled H-A-G-E-R. Hager promises that the AEW World Championship will be much better off, and will have instant legitimacy with him. But Moxley says this isn’t ego or emotion. This is a decision to say, “in no uncertain terms, ‘I am going to f*** you up.'” Who wins and who survives the most brutal battle for the title yet?
AEW hears from DAMASCUS Matt Hardy.
“Welcome to my humble abode. Welcome to the Hardy Compound!” Hardy is here to respond to “Le Hole of the Ass” Chris Jericho. Jericho sat in his “tub that is hot” wearing leather pants. And he insulted The Elite. But let us take a look at the Circle Internal. The Spanish God, Sammy Guevara “is a false god!” And probably a fake Latino! Does he even speak Spanish? Then Proud ‘n’ Powerful are more like Loud ‘n’ Devourable! Hardy loves Puerto Rican food, he cannot wait to CHOMP on Santana and Ortiz. Then the Big Man, Jake Hager. Hager is very smart, as we saw tonight, but Jericho has brainwashed him! He is Jakenstein, minus the two bolts in the neck!
Damascus knows that the Circle Internal thinks it will take over AEW, but he will not and cannot allow it! Jericho tried to recruit Vanguard 1? NEVER! Vanguard, bring the shirt! Wait, that isn’t the shirt Jericho gave him. Why, it has Hardy’s WONDERFUL~ new design on it. But where is the Inner Circle shirt? “It’s fiya.” Whatever does he mean by that? Oh, a dumpster fire. Literally! It’s on fire in the trash. That is what will happen to the Circle Internal! Hardy and the Elite shall DELETE them~! So Hardy has a special offer. Come to the Hardy Compound and face him in the ELITE DELETION~!! Will Le Hole of the Ass accept this unique challenge with Blood & Guts still waiting?

The Exalted One defeated QT Marshall in his first AEW match a couple weeks ago. But QT Marshall beat Lee Johnson on AEW Dark. Then what chance is there for Lee Johnson to defeat Mr. Brodie this week?
The bell rings and Johnson leaps at Brodie, but the dropkick is swatted away! Brodie then clobbers Johnson with a back elbow! Brodie waits for Johnson to stand before he BOOTS Johnson down! The Exalted One spots Marko Stunt among the audience and stares him down. He then goes back to Johnson to drag him to the ropes. Brodie wants Stunt to see the senton atomico! He drags Johnson to the corner to club away on Johnson’s back! Brodie goes corner to corner to back elbow Johnson into buckles! And then a HUGE Half ‘n’ Half suplex! Johnson flounders but Brodie drags him up into the SCRAPBUSTER! Brodie doesn’t stop, he brings Johnson up for the DISCUS! Cover, Brodie Lee wins!
Winner: Brodie Lee, by pinfall
NO CHANCE! That’s what Johnson got. Does anyone else in AEW stand a chance of surviving The Exalted One and his new Dark Order?
AEW TNT Championship Tournament Quarterfinals: Cody VS Shawn Spears!
The American Nightmare and The Chair Man went all out at All Out in Chicago, but nothing is every truly settled in professional wrestling. Each man had a Horseman behind them back then, but now it’s just 1v1 with a path to the newest title in AEW on the line. Who sets the tone for the entire tournament with this opening match?
The bell rings and Spears is wary of Cody. They circle and tie up, then go around the ring. Cody puts Spears in a corner but Spears fights out. Cody headlocks to the takeover and cover, ONE. Spears rolls to a cover, ONE! They stand up, Cody shifts to a facelock but Spears gets the ropebreak. Spears slips out to the apron and Cody gives him space. Spears returns and the two go again. Cody wants a leg but Spears stays clear. They tie up, Spears waistlocks, but Cody pries free. Cody goes for the reversal but Spears knees low then CHOPS Cody to a corner. Spears CHOPS Cody more but Cody grits his teeth. Spears whips Cody corner to corner but Cody goes up and sunset flips! TWO and Cody sweeps to thee leg lock. Spears pushes Cody away and bails out of the ring.
Spears calls for a time-out but there’s no such thing in wrestling. He goes around the way but the Gunn Club gets rowdy. Spears storms off to search under the ring. He finds a chair! And tosses it into the ring! Cody goes to fetch the chair but Spears sneaks in! Cody hurdles over and then follows, to springboard for the NIGHTMARE CUTTER! Cover, TWO! Cody tires again, TWO! Cody goes after an arm and wrenches Spears to a suplex, and gourd buster! Cover, TWO! Cody tries again, TWO! Cody keeps his cool while Spears tries to catch his breath. He stomps Spears then drags him up for another wrench. Cody brings Spears around but Spears cradle counters, TWO! Spears waistlocks but Cody hooks a leg for a trip! Cody Penalty Kicks but Spears ducks it to roll Cody up! TWO, and Cody throws hands!
Cody has Spears in a corner and whips him corner to corner. Spears reverses, Cody goes up and over and BOOTS Spears down! Cover, TWO! Cody tries again with a full mount, TWO! Jericho says the “fancy pansty, artsy fartsy BS” won’t win. Cody stomps Spears down then climbs up top. Flashbacks to the cage match, and the MOONSAULT FLOPS! Spears drags himself up and drags Cody into a PILEDRIVER!! Cover, TWO!! Cody survives and goes out to the apron. Spears follows and brings Cody around to club him down. Spears brings Cody to the ramp, for a neckbreaker! Both men are writhing as AEW goes to break.
AEW returns and Cody brawls with Spears. Spears clubs and CHOPS Cody, then whips him corner to corner hard! Cody bounces off buckles and hits the mat, but the audience is rallying. Spears stalks Cody out of the ring and SUPERKICKS him at the ramp! Spears brings some railing over and takes off the cloth! He pulls the railing apart to prop just the grate up against the apron. Spears goes after Cody but Cody throws hands back! Cody brings Spears over to bump off the apron. And again! Cody sees Spears’ railing ramp and brings him over. Spears blocks the suplex to GIVE the suplex to the grate! Brandi hurries over to check on her husband, but “This is Awesome” for the audience! Cody is somehow okay to continue but Spears is on him.
Spears puts Cody in the ring and pushes the grate aside. Spears covers, TWO! The Chair Man grows a little frustrated but he drags Cody up for a scoop slam. Spears goes to a corner and springboards, to frog splash onto knees! Both men are down and the audience fires up! Cody rises but Spears follows. Cody throws a BIG haymaker! Spears dodges the next but not the kitchen sink knee! Spears runs at Cody but Cody goes up to send Spears into buckles! Cody hits the spinning powerslam! Cover, TWO! Both men are down, but Cody takes off the weight belt! Cody LASHES Spears with it! Then tosses it to the Gunn Club as a free souvenir. Cody brings Spears up, but no Beautiful Disaster! POP-UP BOMB! Cover, TWO!! Both men are still in it as AEW goes to one more break!
AEW returns once more, and Spears is outside the ring. Spears brings out a TABLE from underneath! Spears grins but Cody DIVES! Direct hit at the ramp! Cody pumps himself up as he hobbles over. Cody brings the table the rest of the way out and sets it up! The ref reprimands Cody as he positions it, and he goes after Spears. Spears pushes Cody away and they go around the way. Cody clubs Spears and has Suge D hold him in place! Cody CHOPS and punches and puts Spears in the ring! Spears flounders, Cody climbs, but Spears gets up to SUPER ARM-DRAG! Both men are down and Jericho shouts for Spears! Spears rises up and heads for a corner. The ref checks on Cody, and Spears pulls off the crossbar pad! Brandi gets on the apron to stop him but Spears sees the table is near.
But before Spears can do anything to Brandi, Cody goes after him! Cody drags Spears into dragon sleeper but Spears slips out! Spears dodges Cody and Cody almost knocks Brandi off the apron!! Brandi gets clear but Spears gets Cody in the fireman’s carry! Cody holds ropes but Spears uses that to his advantage!! C4Â THROUGH THE TABLE!! Cody crash lands and the audience loses its mind! The ref checks on Cody but somehow he’s still in this! Jericho loves this. The ring count climbs and Brandi tries to revive Cody. The count passes 5 and then 7! Cody rises, stumbles, but gets in at 9.5!! Spears can’t believe it and is losing his cool! Jericho shouts to take advantage instead!
Spears grits his teeth and glares at Cody. Cody crawls but Spears drags him up. Spears SLAPS Cody so Cody SLAPS back! But Spears fireman’s carry, only for Cody to slip out, and hit CROSS RHODES!! And then ANOTHER CROSS RHODES!! Cover, TWO!?! Spears survives and even Jericho is shocked! But that’s the “Canadian tenacity.” But Cody pulls Spears’ knee pads off and locks on the FIGURE FOUR!! Spears screams in pain, weakly flails as Cody cranks back, and it’s a cover!! Cody WINS!
Winner: Cody, by pinfall (advances to the semifinals)
Has anyone ever won with a pin from a Figure Four? Cody does it here tonight, and is now one step closer to history! But will it be Sammy Guevara or Darby Allin meeting him in the semifinals?
My Thoughts:
Another great episode for AEW as the Spring begins. For one, Jericho was amazing on commentary the entire night. I’m surprised they didn’t give him a segment to answer Matt Hardy’s Deletion challenge. We’re obviously getting that match, and I can’t wait to see it. Jake The Snake gives a great opening promo to then lead into Archer having another great squash match. Cody VS Spears was an incredible main event, and I really liked the creativity in that finish. If Jericho has never seen a Figure Four pinfall victory, then you know it hasn’t happened. Archer VS Cody is almost too obvious of a finals match for the TNT Championship, but the build is making it worth it.
We got great hype videos for everything, too. I would’ve cut out a few of those retorts in the second part of the Moxley-Hager hype, but everything was great. That match next week is going to be insane, and could probably just be a huge chunk of the second hour. Forty minutes, and that’s even with commercials. We probably got the best Women’s Match ever and it wasn’t even for the title. Baker earned a lot of points with me for embracing that bloody nose and then even giving a great interview promo after. I would love if Shida found a way to beat Nyla, and then Shida VS Baker was the next feud up.
Omega and Nakazawa VS Best Friends was a great tag match for coming outta nowhere. But naturally, Best Friends win to keep that name. They’ll move up in the rankings but not with a title match just yet. I was surprised to see AEW gave the rankings already as part of the show. You could tell it was already recorded with tomorrow’s YouTube upload in mind, but it’s nice that they wanted to include it here. And lastly, Brodie Lee of course won again. His vignette reprimanding the casually dressed Creepers was good, as it’s another subtle reference to Vince McMahon. But I’m waiting for when he gets that attitude with Evil Uno and Stu Grayson and takes them down a peg. Then we’ll see if they’ll accept The Exalted One’s way of doing things.

Fox shoves Moxley to then climb up the corner, FLYING- FOREARM from Moxley! Mox’s antiair takes Fox down and the fans boo. Moxley drags Fox up for an X-PLEX! Fox writhes, Moxley stomps him, and then Moxley brings Fox to the ropes. Moxley puts Fox through the ropes to bend him!
The ref counts, Moxley CLUBS Fox down, and then Moxley storms out after Fox. The fans rally for Fox but Mox CHOPS! But now to the CROSSFACE! The fans rally as Fox endures, but Moxley twists him around and thrashes the hold! Then he rolls to have Fox in an INVERTED RINGS OF SATURN! Fox fights around, ROPEBREAK! Moxley glares at the ref, then goes back for Fox. Moxley KICKS! Fox frowns at him and eggs him on! The fans fire up as Moxley KICKS, but Fox still eggs him on! The fans boo more, but Moxley says this is a tough sport and a tough business. So on July 12th at All In, Moxley will run the Hangman outta this sport for good!

That match is next, will it be all about the BOOM here in Seattle?

The bell rings and the teams sort out. Bandido starts against Dax Harwood and they circle. The fans rally, but Stoke distracts the ref so that Konosuke can pull Bandido in, and then the whole team mugs the Most Wanted! Dax bumps Bandido off buckles, CHOPS him, then stands him up again. Dax whips corner to corner, runs in, btu Bandido goes up and over. Dax runs Bandido over, things keep moving, and Bandido hurdles. Bandido slips through a scoop to DROPKICK Dax! The fans fire up, Cash steps in but Bandido backs him off. Dax goes to an open corner, Bandido is on him with a CHOP of his own!
The fans cheer and Bandido wrenches to a wristlock. Dax flails but Roddy tags in. Roddy KNEES Dax low, wrenches again, but Dax DECKS him! Dax tags The Alpha and they mug Roddy. Konosuke ROCKS Roddy again and again, then CHOPS! Konosuke whips, Roddy reverses, but Konosuke TAKESHITA LINES! Konosuke taunts Roddy’s team, then brings Roddy over to tag Kyle. The Don Callis Family boys mug Roddy, then Kyle fires hands. The ref counts, then he backs Kyle off. Kyle runs back up, but into a BOOT! Roddy CALF KICKS Kyle then tags in Garcia! Garcia fires hands on Kyle and he CHOPS!
Garcia whips, Kyle reverses, but Garcia ducks ‘n’ dodges to LEAPING LARIAT! The fans fire up for Red Death, and he LARIATS Kyle in a corner! Garcia rains down fists, goes to nine to then wind it up, and TEN! The fans cheer and Garcia whips, but Kyle reverses. Dax gets a cheap shot in but Garcia DECKS him, DECKS Konosuke, and DECKS Cash! But Kyle GAMANGIRIS! Kyle rains down fists, the fans boo, but Kyle tags Dax. Dax snap suplexes Garcia to then drop a leg, drop an elbow, and drop a HEADBUTT! Cash says look at the ‘stache! The fans boo but Dax covers, TWO! Dax chinlocks and he grinds Garcia down.
Garcia endures and the fans rally up. Garcia rises, fires body shots, but Dax CHOPS! Dax headlocks, but Garcia hits a BIG back suplex! Both men are down and the fans fire up! Garcia crawls, hot tag to Bandido! Bandido rallies on Dax, DECKS him, then he DROPKICKS Konosuke! Kyle storms in but Bandido dodges to tilt-o-whirl and DDT! Cash is back, Bandido dodges and scoops to BACKBREAKER! Dax is up, Bandido fires hands on him, then a SUPERKICK! Cash runs up but Bandido TOSSES him out onto Dax! The fans fire up and Bandido builds speed, to DIVE! But FTR catch him, and DOUBLE ATOMIC SLAM onto the desk!
The fans boo but Cash mocks the finger guns while Collision goes picture in picture.
Stokely talks trash on Bandido, and Dax sits Bandido up so he can rain down fists! Cash taunts Bandido’s team, the ref keeps the peace, and Dax drags Bandido up into the ring. Dax tags Cash, then SMACKS Bandido off Cash’s boots! Cash mocks Bandido more, then drags him up by his mask. Cash CHOPS Bandido down! Cash UPPERCUTS, Bandido goes to the corner, and Cash UPPERCUTS again! Cash tags Konosuke, they mug Bandido, and Konosuke CLUBS Bandido down. Konosuke drags Bandido around, scoops and SLAMS him down, then tags Kyle. ProtoShita puts Bandido in a corner, whips corner to corner, then they DOUBLE BOOT!
Bandido flops over and Kyle flexes while he soaks up heat. Dax joins in, then Kyle stomps away on Bandido. Kyle drags Bandido over, tags Dax, and they mug Bandido. Dax hoists Bandido up top, CHOPS him, then ROCKS him! Bandido fires back, Dax CHOPS, and they continue to brawl as Dax climbs. Kyle runs up but Cole ELBOWS him! And BOOTS him! And then LARIATS him! Cole rallies on Kyle, BOOTS him down, and the fans fire up! Cole fireman’s carries, Kyle slips free, but Cole breaks free to PELE! BACKSTABBER! Cover, TWO! Kyle survives but Cole is right on him. Tag to Roddy and Paragon works together. Kyle slips free, shoves Roddy at Cole, tag to Dax! Cole SUPERKICKS Kyle, Dax ROCKS Cole! Roddy ROCKS Dax and suplexes, but Dax slips free! Dax waistlocks, Roddy switches, but Dax switches back. Cole and Kyle run up, DOUBLE FORFEARMS! DOUBLE BOOTS! Cole blocks a kick to SUPERKICK! Only to run into a LARIAT! Kyle hauls Cole back up, but Cole suplexes! GHOST BUSTER! All eight men are down and the fans are thunderous! The teams regroup while the fans cheer “A E DUB!” for making this the opener. The eight men stare down, and then it explodes into a brawl! The bell rings and the two circle. Shane swings, Swerve dodges to waistlock, but then Swerve avoids the elbow. Shane stops the Eddy Gordo Rana, brings Swerve up to back suplex, but Swerve lands out. Shane blocks a boot, Swerve reels him in and sunset flips, but Shane stays up! Swerve avoids the fist drop to SHOVE Shane out of the ring! Swerve builds speed, but then just hits the Griddy! The fans cheer, STP is upset, and Bravo says he’s got money riding on this. Shane storms into the ring to circle with Swerve. Swerve bobs ‘n’ weaves to avoid the shots, but Shane stops the wrench. Shane blocks the whip, too, but then Swerve BOOTS him!
The fans cheer, Swerve eggs Shane on, and the two reset. They feel things out, Shane fires hands, and wait, Nana is gambling with the Infantry? Shane DECKS Swerve, his odds might’ve just gone up! Shane drags Swerve up on the apron and Bravo wants Tony Schiavone to get in on this? Shane lifts Swerve, Swerve fights free, and he slips under! The Infantry freaks out as Swerve pulls on Shane, but Shane grabs Swerve to SLAM him off the apron! Then he APRON SPLASHES! The fans boo while Swerve falls, and Shane claims it’s HIS house now! The fans boo more while Collision goes picture in picture.
The Infantry mockingly offer Swerve some money, but Shane drags Swerve up to HEADBUTT him! Shane puts Swerve in the ring, tells Nana he’s about to lose more money on this, and then goes into the ring. Shane clamps onto Swerve with a chinlock and he grinds Swerve down. Swerve endures and Nana rallies the fans. Swerve fights up, fires body shots, then he KNEES Shane low! Shane ROCKS Swerve with a left! Then SAIDOS! Swerve staggers over to ropes, Shane storms up on him, and Shane CHOKES Swerve by standing on him! The ref counts, Shane backs off, and Swerve goes to the corner. Shane storms up to Swerve again while Collision goes to break.
Collision returns, Shane has Swerve in a corner to talk trash, then he runs up, only for Swerve to dodge! Swerve then wraps Shane’s arm around ropes, CLUBS away on the shoulder, and runs side to side for a DROPKICK to the arm! The fans fire up and Swerve dropkicks the legs out! Swerve drops a KNEE on the arm, then runs to KNEE Shane down! Cover, TWO! Shane is tougher than that but Swerve stays focused. Nana says it’s over for STP now! Swerve KICKS the bad arm, and the fans cheer for “DEFY! DEFY!” Swerve runs up, Shane shoves him to the corner but Swerve comes back, only for Shane to HEADBUTT!
Shane URENAGES Swerve down, but that was the bad arm! Shane runs, SPLASHES DOWNÂ into an armbar! Swerve has Shane caught and he even HAMMERS Shane’s head! Shane endures, fights back up, and he powers out! Shane KNEES Swerve down! Cover, TWO! Swerve survives and Shane grows frustrated. Swerve goes to a corner, Shane says time to bet it all! Shane goes up the corner, the fans fire up, and Swerve ROCKS Shane first! Swerve throws more hands, then he goes up to get Shane for a SUPER DUPER BACK SUPLEX! The fans are thunderous and Swerve is feeling it! Shane flounders to the apron, but Swerve fires hands!
The fans rally, Swerve runs and returns, but into Shane’s grip! Swerve KICKS and KICKS and KICKS! Shane drapes over the ropes and Swerve BOOTS him! Swerve goes up, takes aim, APRON KILL STOMPS!! The fans are thunderous again and Swerve steps inside. But the Infantry gets all up in Nana’s face! Swerve FLIES out onto the Infantry! And then a HOUSE CALL for Shane!! Cover, Swerve wins!

Swerve finally has his 50th singles win here in AEW, and Nana rakes in the dough! Having green is nice, but will Swerve find himself aimed at gold again?
Ladies and gentlemen, introducing… Timeless Toni Storm.
Seattle cheers as Toni Noir stands on stage. “Mercedes Mone…” The fans boo that name. “I am disappointed in you. Three weeks ago, you shook my hand and said we would have the biggest women’s match of all time. And since then, you have been eating steak, playing on your telephone, and trying to kiss me. And now, you are still in Mexico because you have won yet another title.” The fans boo that, too. “Is that all I am to you? Is that all this is to you? Another trophy for your shelf? Another toy for your collection? Now, I want to say this as nicely as possible. Mercedes, I am not some other mother-effer.
“I am TIMELESS Toni Storm! I am the AEW Women’s World Champion! And if you make one false move, I am going to eat you alive!” The fans cheer that! “I demand your best, Mercedes, because that is what you are. One day, my reign will be over.” The fans don’t like the sound of that, but Toni says there is no one more deserving than Mone. “The day I met you, I knew what you were destined to be. You were the first woman to wrestle at Madison Square Garden, the Tokyo Dome, Wembley Stadium AND Arena Mexico… But I was the last woman to wrestle at the Wodonga Sports & Leisure Center before it got closed down for a cockroach infestation.”
The fans cheer that last part, and Toni says she sincerely believes that Mone is the greatest of all time. Toni is not, nor was she ever meant to be. For she is a “manic, neurotic, erotic, sexually questionable, consistently sweating, bottom heavy, transatlantic whore!” The fans still cheer for her, and Toni says when this belt is upon her bosom, she makes magic happen! So unless Mone plans on pulling a rabbit out of her ass, Toni highly doubts Mone can say the same! At All In, in front of the entire world, and all those little girls watching at home, Mone will look Toni in the eye, and she will realize that Toni only has to beat Mone while Mone will have to KILL Toni!
The fans cheer Toni as the spotlight fades out to black. Will All In: Texas be yet another instant classic in Toni’s already timeless career?

Undefeated at 25-0 and now 4 million Pesos richer, the futuristic luchador now conglomerates with the Sussex County Chicken and the Babe with the Power! The trios sort out and it is ladies first as Willow circles with Taya. They tie up, Taya waistlocks and shoves, then she soaks up the heat while she struts. Willow kicks Taya in the butt! Taya gets mad, runs up on Willow, but Willow LARIATS her down! Then Willow struts, and shakes them hips! Taya gets up, Willow waistlocks and shoves her to the corner. Taya dodges, stomps away, but the ref counts. Taya stops at 4, whips corner to corner, but Willow cartwheels! Willow comes back to CLOBBER Taya, then she runs to SPLASH! Cover, ONE! Willow tags Hologram and Taya tags Mason! Hologram and Mason tie up, and Mason THROWS Hologram!
The fans boo but MXM celebrates like they did something. Mason swings on Briscoe & Willow but they both get clear. The fans boo Mason but Hologram DROPKICKS Mason! The fans fire up and Hologram runs in again. Mason puts Hologram on the apron, but Hologram RAMS low and GAMANGIRIS high! Hologram goes up, up, and springboards to MISSILE DROPKICK! Mason tumbles out but Mansoor runs in, only for Hologram to kick and whip. Mansoor reverses, Hologram handsprings but Mansoor dodges! Mansoor runs up, Hologram dodges and tilt-o-whirl RANAS! The fans fire up and Mansoor bails out!
Hologram builds speed and DIVES! Direct hit and the fans fire up! Wait, Mason gets Hologram for a BLACK HOLE SLAM on the floor! The fans boo but MXM TV cheers while Collision goes picture in picture.
Mason drags Hologram up, puts him back in the ring, and Johnny TV taunts Briscoe & Willow. Mason drags Hologram back out so he can CLUB him down. The ref reprimands, Mason drags Hologram back up and SMACKS him off the apron. And then throws him into railing! Taya soaks up the heat while she vogues, and Mason refreshes the ring count. That just lets Mr. & Mrs. TV stomp away on Hologram! They stop as Mason goes back out to fetch Hologram. Willow & Briscoe back the rest of them off while Hologram is in the ring. Mansoor tags in, he whips for Mason to scoop, and they CAT WALK LEG DROP! Cover, TWO!
Mansoor keeps Hologram down with a Camel Clutch, but Hologram endures. Mansoor stomps away on Hologram into the corner, but stops as the ref counts. Mason gets a cheap shot in while Mansoor argues with the ref! Johnny does, too! Mansoor drags Hologram to an ELBOW DROP, then covers, TWO! Mansoor drags Hologram over, tags Mason, and Mansoor holds Hologram down for Mason to ELBOW DROP! Cover, TWO! Mason drags Hologram back up, throat chops him, then tags Taya. Taya mugs Hologram with Mansoor’s help, then tags Mansoor. The ref reprimand but Mansoor stomps Hologram around.
Collision returns to single picture and Mason tags in. Mason sets up at the ropes, and Mansoor CATAPULTS Hologram into the hips! The Mahogany Hunk poses, Johnny joins in, but the fans boo. The ref reprimands and Hologram hops off the apron. Mansoor & Mason mug Hologram again, then they whip, but Hologram tilt-o-whirl DDTS! The fans fire up, Mansoor back suplexes, but Hologram lands out! He dodges Mansoor, hot tag to Briscoe! The Chicken rallies on MXM with CHOPS and forearms on repeat! The fans fire up as Briscoe fires off on Mansoor! Mason waistlocks but Briscoe BOOTS Mansoor and PELES Mason!
The fans fire up with Briscoe, he ducks a kick then blocks a kick to FLIP Mansoor! And SHOTEI! The fans fire up but here comes Mason! Briscoe DUMPS Mason out, then builds speed! Briscoe WRECKS Mason with a dropkick! The fans fire up more and Briscoe takes aim! Taya distracts the ref and Johnny anchors Briscoe’s foot! Mansoor goes up the corner to BEAUTIFUL DISASTER KICK! Hologram runs in, hammerlocks, snapmares, then SPANISH FLIES! But Taya is up top to FLYING RANA Hologram! Willow storms in while Taya fires up, and Willow whips Taya for a SPINEBUSTER! The fans fire up but Mansoor grabs Willow’s hair!
The fans boo but Briscoe steps in and spins Mansoor around! REDNECK KUNG-FU UPPERCUT! Willow adds a POUNCE~! PERIOD! Hologram hurries in and torture racks, spin and spin and spin, for the PORTAL BOMB!! Briscoe BOOTS Mason off the apron, Hologram SUPERKICKS Johnny! Hologram & Briscoe build speed and DOUBLE FLY! Down go Johnny & Mason! The fans fire up as Briscoe climbs, FROGGY-BOW! Cover, Conglomeration wins!

Backstage interview with Kris Statlander.
Lexy Nair is with The Galaxy’s Greatest and brings up the big win for Willow’s team. Kris asks if they’re really doing this. Every single week! Yes, everyone loves Willow. But when is Kris going to get a chance? In the All-Star 8 Woman Tag? Uh, uh, didn’t think so. So if you think she’s going to stand here and talk about how important everyone else is, you’re dead wrong! But then Yuta walks over and says he hates to say he told her so… Kris tells Yuta to shut his grimy little mouth! She knows who he is and what this is! If he thinks she wants any part of this, get out of her face! Yuta tries to talk her down but Kris SHOVES him down! And then Moxley steps in.
Moxley picks up Kris’ phone for her, but tells her to never, ever, let anyone else tell you who you are or what you’re worth. Moxley hands Kris her phone, and Kris is rather shaken. But did Moxley just encourage someone? And will Kris Statlander follow his advice to go out and take what she deserves?
Tony Schiavone is in the ring.
Schiavone asks Seattle to please welcome… Don Callis. The fans boo as The Jackal walks out here, accompanied by Josh Alexander & Lance Archer. They join Schiavone in the ring and Callis stops Schiavone already. He has a very special announcement! He would like to introduce to us the greatest wrestler in the history of Japan! Better than Rikidozan, than Inoki, than Muta, than Tanahashi… the NEWEST member of the Don Callis Family, the Rainmaker, Kazuchika Okada! The fans boo even more as the Continental Champion makes his way out to the ring. Okada shakes hands with Callis, and Callis interrupts Schiavone again.
Callis says that he and Okada would like to show everyone some very special footage. Roll the tape! The tape is of course the last time we saw these two, and the horrible trap they had set for Kenny Omega. Schiavone says that was one of the most despicable things in wrestling history! Callis says you can almost smell the diverticulitis coming outta Omega’s mouth! Schiavone says how dare Callis laugh at someone coughing up blood! What is wrong with him!? Callis says he is sick and tired of Schiavone coming out here and talking bad about him and Okada and the Callis Family, “like the sleezy feline that you are!”
But Callis and his family are here to talk about Kenny Omega! “Kenny, how does it feel to know that your greatest opponent, Okada, and the man who knows all your weaknesses, Don Callis, have teamed up against you?! I know, Kenny, you’re laying in a hospital bed right now…” The fans tell Callis to STFU but Callis just talks louder. Omega surely has tubes coming outta his guts, with a colostomy bag hanging out the side! Omega won’t even make it to All In! But IF Omega does make it there, and wrestles the greatest wrestler in the history of Japan, then Omega needs to know that he will truly be alone.
Omega destroyed his friendship with the Young Bucks, with Callis, and is alone in this world with not even one friend left! But then out steps Mark Briscoe! The fans cheer as The Chicken tells Callis, “My Lord, would you PLEASE shut the hell up!? You sound stupid, you weird lookin’ bastard! You say Kenny has no friends? Well sheesh, I’ll be damned, I’m his friend! But y’know what? I’m not his only friend.” Because KOTA IBUSHI IS HERE! The fans go nuts seeing the Golden Star return to AEW! Archer rushes them, but Briscoe attacks first! That lets Ibushi strut right up to the Walking Weapon in the ring!
The fans fire up as Ibushi dodges Alexander, then fires off a strike fest! Alexander ducks a kick, Ibushi ducks the rolling elbow, and Ibushi ROUNDHOUSES Alexander down! The fans fire up while Callis freaks out, but now Ibushi and Okada are alone in the ring. The fans go nuts already as Golden Star and Rainmaker stare down. Okada fires a forearm, but Ibushi fires back! Okada UPPERCUTS, but Ibushi fires off a strike fest! SOBAT and ROUNDHOUSE! Okada falls and he scurries out of the ring! Callis is there, and he gets his new moneymaker outta there! Will Ibushi make sure Omega gets a fair shake in Texas?
Collision returns to a brawl!
Apparently, the Workhorsemen got into it with Big Bill & Bryan Keith in the back, and now it has spilled out to ringside! JD Drake & Anthony Henry have the advantage as they use chairs on the Redwood & Bad Apple! Henry sits Keith in a corner of the railing, then runs around the way! But Bill BOOTS him down! The fans are fired up, but then Drake CLUBS Bill! But Keith SMACKS Drake with a chair! Keith shouts for Bill to get ’em! Bill stands Drake up, SMACKS him off steel steps, then Keith SMACKS Drake off steps! And repeat! Keith stomps Henry, SMACKS Drake off steps, and then Bill SMACKS Drake off steps!
Henry shields Drake but that just gets him a CLUBBING forearm! Keith sets chairs up together, Bill SMACKS Henry off steps, and Keith has Bill haul Henry up. Bill gives Henry a SKYSCRAPER CHOKE SLAMÂ onto the chairs!! Henry falls in a heap with all that steel, and Bill wants a mic! Wait, now Christian Cage wants to be out here? The fans are fired up either way as Captain Charisma leads The Patriarchy out here. “Seattle… Sit down and shut your mouths while I conduct my business!” The fans boo instead. Christian says they know it and he knows it. The only good things to ever come outta Washington are Mother Shayna and Nick Wayne! So again, show some damn respect!
The fans boo more, and Christian tells Bill & Keith that Christian likes a good backstage brawl as much as the next guy. But when it spills out to ringside and takes away from his air time, then he has a problem. Especially when he was coming out here to make a huge announcement. But hey, maybe they should stand there and listen with the rest of these “sweat hogs,” because this is a pretty damn good announcement. Now, it is no secret that these past couple months, his son, Nick Wayne, has been wrestling at a godlike pace! The fans cheer for Nick, but Christian tells them to shut their mouths while he’s talking!
But believe him when he tells you, that has everything to do with Christian’s guidance. Yet, there are still those who have the audacity to mistake friction for building toughness. But the proof speaks for itself! Nick stands here as the youngest champion this company has ever seen! So why stop there? Why not keep going? Why not make more history? Time for Christian’s son to walk beside him instead of behind him! Time he and Nick embark on a journey that takes them to the top! That sees them become the first-ever father-and-son AEW World Tag Team Champions! The fans are torn on that, but Nick smiles as Christian pats him on the shoulder.
Bill says, “Sorry, did you say that that is your son? Maybe your adopted son. Because if all the things that I’ve heard about Mama Wayne are true… That kid’s real father could be literally anybody. It could be that guy right there! Or what about that guy right there? Oh, oh, wait a second, dead ringer! Dead ringer! Oh my God, that could be your father right there! There he is!” The fans cheer but Bill says if they don’t like what he is saying, then how about Christian come down to the ring to do this right here. Christian says first of all, there is nothing of the sort happening here in Seattle. The fans boo and he asks if they wanna see it.
Well, here’s a question, Big Bill. Is that you talking or is that the bottle talking? Did he fall off the wagon this weekend? Go on a bit of a bender? Maybe he fried too many braincells because he clearly doesn’t know who he’s talking to. Bill doesn’t call the shots, Christian does! He is the Patriarch and this is his Patriarchy! He IS the Face of TNT now and forever! The fans boo but The Patriarchy steps away. Will Bill & Keith take them down all the same?

Anthony Bowens was in a bad mood but Billy Gunn wanted to talk things out. Lexy Nair caught up with them first and Billy has “Brittney Spears” hold on. In Lexy’s defense, that outfit really is classic Brittney. But anyway, Daddy Ass tells Bowens it will be a struggle. Bowens says Billy is supposed to be helping him get better. Does he want Bowens to end up like Max Caster? Billy says he got hit in the face by Lance Archer! Well, that’s not on Bowens. They need to get their act together, because Bowens is the Pride of Pro-Wrestling, he needs to climb the ladder in AEW, and he needs to win. Billy says he knows that. What can Daddy Ass do to help Bowens finally hit some homeruns?

Kevin Knight & Mike Bailey have been plotting their own course to titles, namely the AEW World Tag Team Championships. They need to prove themselves to the Hurt Syndicate, can they do that here in Seattle? Or will Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona slam the gates shut on those flight plans?
The bell rings and Speedball starts against Kaun. The fans rally, Kaun rushes up but Bailey dodges. Bailey headlocks, Kaun powers up and out and he RUNS Bailey over! Bailey kips up, then dodges Kaun and hurdles over. Bailey drops down, DROPKICKS Kaun, but Liona tags in and CLOBBERS Bailey! Ricochet vents about losing out on the 4 million Pesos, he blames Lio Rush, and he crosses off CRU as candidates for his crew. Liona TOSSES Bailey to a corner, fires fast hands, but the ref counts. Liona steps on Bailey, steps off, and then drags Bailey up. Tag to Kaun and the Gates double whip. They DOUBLE HIP TOSS, but Bailey lands through!
Bailey dodges lariats and hot tags Knight! The fans fire up as Knight springboards to FLYING ARM-DRAG Kaun! Liona runs up, Knight dodges, but Liona blocks the arm-drag! Liona YANKS Knight up but Knight DROPKICKS Liona out! The fans fire up with Knight, and he scoops Kaun to SLAM! But Liona grabs Knight by his hair! Knight PELES Liona, then says “TOO FLY!” UFO SPLASHÂ but onto knees! Kaun turns things around, Ricochet says that’s smart. Kaun whips Knight into railing, into the apron, and back into railing! Kaun then brings KNight all the way around to send into the LED barriers!
The fans boo but Ricochet applauds. Bailey aims at Kaun and PLANCHAS, but Liona BLASTS Bailey outta the air! Ricochet likes that even more! He applauds, Liona pats Ricochet on the shoulder, and the Gates go back to the ring while Collision goes picture in picture.
The Gates soak up heat, then Kaun puts Knight in the ring. Liona is there to CLOBBER Knight and cover, TWO! Liona drags Knight into a shoulder claw! Knight endures as Liona leans on him, then he fights up. Knight JAWBREAKERS free, then runs, only for Liona to LARIAT him back down! Liona drags Knight up, puts him in the corner and tags Kaun. The Gates double whip, then double hip toss into the DOUBLE SLAM! Kaun covers, TWO! Knight stays in this but Kaun stomps Knight around. Kaun then drags Knight up to put in a corner for more stomps. Kaun fires fast hands, then more stomps, but stops as the ref counts.
Kaun argues with the ref and that lets Liona get a cheap shot in! Kaun drags Knight up while Bailey protests, and Collision goes to break.

As Dax Harwood & Stokely Hathaway make their way out, #BigStoke has a mic and he has them cut the music. Stokely has some good news and some bad news. Bad news: Due to circumstances beyond his control, Cash Wheeler cannot be here tonight. That’s the bad news. The good news is, one half of FTR is here tonight in the great Dax the Ax! And hey, Stokely has been working on his Espanol all day. “Grassy ass, thank you!” Still messed it up… But with that, the rest of Team Rudo make their way out, starting with Volador, followed by the Don Callis y Hechicero.
On the other side, ROH World Champion Bandido leads the way for his team, followed by Templario and the Atlantis father and son. Then Brody King and Daniel Garcia follow, saving TNT Champion, Adam Cole, for last! The fans join in for the “BOOM!” and “ADAM COLE, BAYBAY!” These massive teams sort out, and Bandido steps up against the Alpha, Konosuke Takeshita. The fans fire up behind the Most Wanted while he and Konosuke circle. They approach, Konosuke trips Bandido and things speed up. Bandido stays low, then hurdles, but Konosuke leaps over. Bandido dodges Konosuke, then he aims his finger gun!
The fans cheer as Konosuke says he has his eyes on Bandido, too. Konosuke kicks low, whips, but Bandido reverses. Bandido scoops right to a torture rack! X KNEE blocked, and Konosuke spins Bandido to back suplex. Bandido lands out, Konosuke mule kicks. Konosuke runs, but into a RANA! The fans fire up while Konosuke bails out. Bandido builds speed, but Hechicero steps in per lucha rules! The fans cheer these two, even duel, and then Hechi takes a swing. Bandido dodges, fires hands, but Hechi dodges and even goes Matrix! The fans fire up, Hechi scoops, Bandido slips free, but Hechi victory rolls to then INVERTED MONKEY FLIP!
Hechi catches Bandido into the REAR NAKED CHOKE, but Bandido rolls back! They both stand, Hechi wrenches Bandido and whips. Hechi runs up to STEP-UP KNEE! Bandido flops down and Hechi shows off the drop steps. Bandido bails out so Garcia runs in! Garcia whips, Hechi sunset flips, but Garcia rolls through, and does his dance! The fans are torn, but Hechi trips Garcia to have the legs! Hechi rolls and stacks Garcia, only for Garcia to activate the core! Garcia sits up, sunset flips, but Hechi blocks to spin Garcia! Garcia RANAS through! Hechi bails out, Dax storms in, and the fans boo.
Garcia fires forearms on Dax first, then backs him to a corner. The fans cheer as Garcia goes up, and he rains down fists! The fans count but Dax stops Garcia at cinco! Dax carries Garcia off the corner but Garcia fights free to DECK Dax! Garcia whips but Dax reverses and wrenches to short arm LARIAT! Garcia bails out so Atlantis Junior jumps in. Arena Mexico actually boos Junior, he’s apparently not as cool as Senior. Junior shrugs that off to run up on Dax. Dax puts Junior on the apron and Junior GAMANGIRIS! Junior slingshots, runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, then SLINGBLADES! Cover, TWO!
Atlantis Junior tags Templario and the fans cheer again. Junior & Temp roll Dax into a wheelbarrow and Temp goes up to MISSILE DROPKICK Dax into the WHEELBARROW GERMAN! Temp covers, TWO! Templario hears the fans cheer him on, but Volador climbs up and CROSSBODIES! He takes down Temp & Junior, then ducks ‘n ‘dodges. Dax gives him a boost to DOUBLE DROPKICK! Dax whips Junior, Volador whips Templario, but they both duck to come back and DOUBLE RANA! Junior SUPERKICKS Dax, and fans boo! Volador SUPERKICKS Junior and fans cheer! Templario RIPS Volador’s Depredadores shirt and stomps on it! Then things speed up. Volador hurdles, Temp ducks then rolls off Voaldor’s back! Temp goes up, up, and RANAS! Volador bails out, and we get a TEMPLAROONI! Templario then handsprings to SASUKE SPECIAL! Direct hit on Volador, and now that lets Brody King step in. The fans bark and Dax realizes he’s alone with this Hound of Hell. Dax offers a handshake, but Brody CHOPS him down! Archer storms in as Dax scrambles out, and the Murderhawk Monster CLUBS Brody! The fans boo as Archer CLUBS away on Brody, then he soaks up the heat.
Archer whips, Josh Alexander gets a cheap shot in, but Brody swings on him for it! Alexander HOTSHOTS him in return! Archer choke grips, but Cole CHOPE BLOCKS! Cole & Brody RAM Archer into the Walking Weapon! SUPERKICK! SUPERKICK! Brody goes out to get Alexander while Cole SHINING WIZARDS Archer down! Brody fireman’s carries Alexander, APRON DEATH VALLEY!! The fans are thunderous as now Kyle Fletcher steps in. Protostar and Panama City Playboy fire hands! Kyle knees low and fires off more knees! The ref has the team sort out and Bandido stays in. He goes out to fetch Dax, but Dax and Volador mug him! The rest of Bandido’s team goes to help him and it is a huge brawl! All 14 men are throwing hands, and Brody even DUMPS Kyle into the crowd! Archer puts Garcia in the ring so they’re legal now. Archer climbs up a corner to rain down fists! Garcia slips out before tres, trips Archer up, and he climbs up! Garcia rains down fists, and this time, Garcia makes it to siete before Archer picks him up and DROPS him on the top buckle! Archer mocks Garcia’s dance, then he drags Garcia up to whip him hard into the Rudo corner.
Archer taunts Bandido, goes back to Garcia, and stands on him at the ropes! The ref reprimands, Archer steps off, and Garcia gets up to fire forearms! Archer ROCKS him in return! Hechicero tags in and he fires hands on Garcia! The ref counts, Hechi stops at quatro and powers up his alchemy. Then he drags Garcia up, only for Garcia to fire hands! Junior goes up, up, but Alexander SHOVES him down! Alexander then goes out after Junior while Kyle rises. Atlantis Junior fights to BACKDROP Alexander into the ring! Junior goes up the ramp, runs back down, and he CROSSBODIES Kyle & Alexander! The teams rush in, it is a brawl, but then Bandido’s team puts Kyle, Alexander, Konosuke and Volador in corners! Garcia and Alexander brawl their way up the ramp and to the back, and the same for Cole with Kyle! Bandido ASAI MOONSAULTS Volador! Archer storms into the ring to meet Brody! The fans bark for these behemoths and the forearms fly! Archer throat chops, runs, but into a forearm! Brody roars and runs, but into a forearm! Archer roars and runs, but then fakes Brody out! But Brody deflects the boot to run and CLOBBER Archer! Archer tumbles out, but here comes Hechi! FLYING ELBOW! Hechi stomps away on Brody and the fans fire up! The Rainmaker has a Winner Takes All match with long-time rival, Kenny Omega, but he crossed a line! Not only has Okada joined Don Callis just to stick it to The Cleaner, but Okada hospitalized Omega with a brutal attack to the stomach! Will the Sussex County Chicken get a semblance of revenge on Omega’s behalf? Or will Okada make it rain in Arena Mexico?
The fans are fired up for Okada while he and Briscoe get face to face. The ref has them back away to their corners, then the bell rings. Okada and Briscoe step up again, then Briscoe shoves Okada! Okada bails out and the fans boo. Briscoe waits on Okada while commentary tells Callis he and Okada committed the most despicable thing in all of wrestling. Callis of course says it was the most shrewd tactical move in the history of wrestling. Okada takes his time returning into the ring, and then he circles with Briscoe. They tie up and are in a deadlock. They go around, Okada puts Briscoe on the ropes, but he lets off slowly.
Okada fakes the chop, and pats Briscoe on the shoulders. The fans are torn, but Briscoe kicks Okada and TOSSES him! The fans cheer as Briscoe builds speed, but Okada steps aside so Briscoe can’t dive. Briscoe gives chase, though, and they go around the outside. They slide back in, and Okada CLOBBERS Briscoe! The fans are torn as Okada CLUBS away. Okada fires forearms, storms up to stomp Briscoe in the corner, and then ELBOWS him! The fans are torn but Okada brings Briscoe around for a BIG back suplex. Briscoe high-fives the front row before he puts Okada in the ring. Okada goes to a corner, Briscoe runs up and LARIATS! Briscoe goes corner to corner again, but Okada BOOTS him! The Scumbag only ever does or uses something when it benefits him, and being extremely patriotic for the United States only seems to happen when he wants to stick it to someone not from the United States. MJF waves Ol’ Glory while he, MVP, Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin walk down to the ring, but will he have to wave the white flag of surrender here tonight? Or will MJF somehow screw over the arguably greatest and most beloved man in CMLL?
In fact, to counter MJF being an American idiot, Mistico takes off his Sin Cara mask to reveal the colors of Mexico’s flag and therefore the colors of his people. He also has Me Muero as his theme, and the fans all know that one! The bell rings and the two circle while the fans rally behind Mistico. The two tie up, MJF SHOVES Mistico away, and then MJF soaks up the heat. MJF mockingly claps and then says up theirs! MVP tells MJF to worry about Mistico, not the fans. MJF brings Mistico around to headlock but Mistico fires body shots. Mistico powers up and out, then CHOPS! Mistico winds up and the fans rally, and he knuckle locks before he CHOPS again! Mistico goes up, up, and he tightrope walks to FLYING ARM-DRAG! The fans fire up as Mistico then hits a CODE RED! Cover, TWO! MJF bails out but Mistico builds speed! Mistico handsprings to fake MJF out! MJF thinks he’s smooth for running away, but then MVP tells him to focus on Mistico, not on the fans. MJF says he knows, and he eggs on Mistico. Mistico runs out there to chase MJF, but then the Hurt Syndicate stands in the way!
The fans boo, Mistico wags his finger, and he tells them to part. MJF runs up to ROCK Mistico first! The fans boo but MJF high-fives his guys. MJF says, “Easy! Too easy!” MJF puts Mistico in the ring, smirks while the fans call him more names. MJF swivels his hips, then runs up, but Mistico dodges the knee drop! Mistico runs up to RANA! The fans fire up and Mistico has MJF in a corner. MJF wants mercy, but Mistico says nope! Mistico runs up, but MJF YANKS him into buckles! MJF stomps away on Mistico, then goes to the other end to stand on the corner. MJF soaks up heat as he does the Pledge of Allegiance!
The fans boo, and MVP again reprimands MJF, he needs to be about business, not about trolling! MJF goes back to Mistico, drags him up, and he brings Mistico around, but Mistico JAWBREAKERS! Mistico runs, hops on, but MJF stops Code Red to reel Mistico in! POWER BREAKER! Cover, TWO! Mistico survives, MVP says this is still fine, and Grand Slam goes picture in picture. MJF sits Mistico up, and he pulls at the mask! MJF’s lucky this is an AEW based event, CMLL rules say this is tantamount to a disqualification! MJF rips at the eyehole, then clamps on a chinlock. Mistico fights while the fans tell MJF off again. Mistico rises up, fires body shots, then runs to ROCK MJF! Mistico fires forearms but MJF throat chops! Yuta bridges back to put on the pressure! Ospreay endures, Yuta flips off the fans, and then Yuta tags Moxley in. Ospreay is stuck and Moxley stomps him right down! The ref reprimands but Yuta lets Ospreay go. Grand Slam returns to single picture and Ospreay fires hands. Moxley fires back, the fans rally for Ospreay, but Moxley scoops to SLAM! Cover, TWO! Moxley stays on Ospreay with another cover, TWO! Moxley has the arm, DOUBLE WRISTLOCK! Ospreay endures as it becomes a KIMURA! Ospreay still fights up and the fans rally! Ospreay’s entire team reaches out, but Moxley pulls Ospreay’s hair! Moxley shoves Ospreay away to then sucker punch Swerve!
Hobbs storms in but the ref keeps him back. Ospreay CHOPS away on Moxley! Moxley shoots around to have a SLEEPER! Ospreay slips out the back to back suplex, but Moxley fights with elbows! Moxley whips, Ospreay handsprings, NEURALIZER KICK! Moxley wobbles but falls, and Ospreay crawls! Hot tags to Yuta and Hobbs! The fans fire up as Hobbs CLOBBERS Yuta, BLASTS The Bucks, and then picks Yuta up to RAM him into a corner! The fans fire up as Hobbs shouts, “MEAT!” The fans fire up and Hobbs fires those point-blank LARIATS! Hobbs goes past DIEZ to hit TRECE! That’s 13!
Hobbs then brings Yuta out to short arm LARIAT! The fans fire up as the straps come down! But The Bucks kick low! The Bucks DOUBLE CHOP, but that just pisses Hobbs off! The Bucks apologize but the fans tell them they messed up. Hobbs blocks a superkick, then the other! The Bucks want mercy, but Hobbs goes to guzels! But Yuta jumps on for a SLEEPER! Joe wants in, the ref has him stop, but this lets Moxley sneak in! Mox kicks Hobbs low! Hobbs lets the Bucks go, Mox & Yuta double whip. Hobbs breaks through that double lariat to DOUBLE LARIAT The Bucks! The fans fire up as Hobbs then DOUBLE LARIATS Yuta & Moxley!
Ospreay & Swerve hurry to DOUBLE PLANCHA The Bucks! Shibata tags in, he whips Yuta to a corner. Shibata sends Hobbs in for a SPLASH! Then Shibata adds his HYDRAULIC DROPKICK! The fans fire up and Shibata HALF HATCH SUPLEXES Yuta! Hobbs scoops Yuta for a POWERSLAM! Shibata covers but Mortos breaks it! Hobbs returns, Mortos dodges him and SPEARS Hobbs down!! Then a HEADBUTT for Shibata! Mortos keeps going, TORNILLO TOPE onto Hobbs!! Mortos gets back in and LARIATS Shibata! The fans fire up but here comes Joe! Joe fires forearms back and forth with Mortos!
The fans rally, Joe fires a flurry, but Mortos kicks low! Mortos whips Joe to the corner, runs in, but Joe URENAGES Mortos down! Nick SHINING WIZARDS! Matt cravats Joe and Nick helps with the SLICED BREAD! BASEMENT SUPERKICK! But Ospreay springboards in! DOUBLE SUPERKICKS for Ospreay! Then they have the wrists, E V P- NO, Ospreay kips up, gets loose, and DOUBLE OSCUTTERS!! Swerve joins in, FOSBURY FLOP onto the Bucks! The fans are thunderous, Nana does his dance, and Ospreay turns around into a BUSAIKU KNEE from Yuta! Shibata gets Yuta in a SLEEPER! Yuta snapmares free and ROCKS Shibata!
“ESTA LUCHA!” as Yuta runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, and BUSAIKU KNEES Shibata! But Shibata’s right up to PENALTY KICK!! Both men are down and the fans continue to rally! Hot tags to Swerve and Moxley! These two fire forearms and the fans fire up again! The most dangerous men in AEW go back and forth, but Swerve gets the edge! Moxley ROLLING ELBOWS! Swerve mule kicks and HAYMAKERS! Ospreay adds a HOOK KICK! Swerve somersaults for the FLATLINER! Ospreay helps Swerve turn Moxley in the gator roll, CHASING THE DRAGON!! The fans are thunderous and Ospreay sets Moxley up!
Swerve goes up, but Matt stops Swerve! Swerve kicks Matt away and Ospreay BOOTS Matt down! But Marina distracts the ref! Nick SHOVES Swerve and Swerve HOTSHOTS off the ropes! Moxley rolls swerve up to cover, DEATH BUCKS WIN!!
Winners: The Death Riders, The Young Bucks & The Beast Mortos, by pinfall
The Problem is always a factor, but this isn’t done as Yuta & The Bucks beat up on Joe! Then the Bucks SUPERKICK Swerve! Moxley has a SLEEPER on Swerve, then feeds him to the SUPERKICKS! Moxley puts the SLEEPER back on, but HERE COMES HANGMAN!! The Cowboy told us about the ringside ban, but also mentioned that once the match was over, it was fair game! Hangman storms out here, unintentionally saving Swerve, and he glares at Moxley. The fans fire up as Hangman throws off his jacket and rushes the ring! Moxley stands his ground, the two get face to face, and now go fist for fist! Yuta gets in but Hangman DECKS him!
Moxley kicks low! Moxley whips but Hangman goes to the apron! Moxley waits, Hangman slingshots, but then Moxley dodges! BUCKSHOT on Matt! Well, it did hit a Buck, and Nick asks wtf! Hangman says he told them, they stay out of his business or else! But now Moxley has the briefcase! Only for Hangman to spot him first. Moxley is frozen in place, and now The Opps & Ospreay get in the ring! The Maniac decides discretion is the better part of valor, and The Death Riders are in retreat. But there’s no running from what’s coming! 24 days remain before All In, will they be the last 24 days Moxley has as champion?
My Thoughts:
Awesome night for AEW’s first show in Mexico, even with things going about how I expected. For one, Mone of course won the title, because why else would they even do this match if not to give her one more belt? Though, what’s wild is that she picked up another belt without much hype or press from AEW. I guess European Wrestling Alliance hopes this gets them some attention. But good stuff with Toni Storm’s noir video and the sneak attack. And I would hope Toni retains the title at All In to keep Mone from going Ultimo Dragon just yet.
Cash Wheeler and Claudio Castagnoli both had travel issues, so I understand subbing people in. But did a 12 Man Tag really need to become a 14 Man Tag for it? And seeing as how I don’t cover CMLL’s own programming, I have NO idea why Atlantis Senior & Junior are getting booed. Is it a “Cena Wins LOL” situation where Junior is winning too much? That’s the only thing I can really think of offhand. But naturally, the Faces of that match won, as The Don Callis Family was rolling last week and needed humbling. I would think we still get Adam Cole VS Kyle Fletcher 2 now, and maybe Kyle wins the title so that the Don Callis Family has something.
Although, Callis seems to be bringing Okada into the fold for whatever reason, so he could end up bringing the “Unified” Continental & International Championship to the family. Okada VS Briscoe was great, and naturally Okada got the win. Mistico VS MJF was great stuff, up until MJF gave up and gave Mistico the win there. I know MJF loves getting heat, but him being the first man to snatch Mistico’s mask away like that is some HUGE heat. Also, I think I said it way back during some feud Penta had in AEW, but are masks really sacred if they’re willing to let them get ripped, stretched, and even yanked away? Or has that been lucha libre kayfabe all along? Either way, great stuff with JetSpeed and the other luchadores showing up, lots of matches set up with that.
Great Fatal 4 Way, and great win for Hologram to stay undefeated, but I will again criticize needing to do money prizes for these things. They should’ve set Hologram up for a title match twice over by now but TK is apparently making Hologram his top undefeated guy. Like if Goldberg was more than just big and strong and could actually do stuff… Also, while they obviously didn’t work together the entire time, I just feel like Ricochet having Lio Rush & Action Andretti become his crew (what with them being CRU and all) is the right move. Or perhaps this story of finding a faction is going to be an ongoing gag that no one likes Ricochet and would never follow him.
Then a great 10 Man Tag main event, though a little redundant considering Anarchy in the Arena was only a few weeks ago. Still good stuff for everybody, especially Mortos since he got to sub in for Claudio. Of course Marina gets involved so that the Heels win, but great stuff with Hangman going after Moxley. Hangman did a great job in his promo speaking Espanol to show respect to the fans. Naturally, Moxley gets away, that’s his whole thing. I really hope Ospreay, Swerve and The Opps keep the Death Riders and Bucks at bay so Hangman doesn’t get screwed over at All In. It’d be garbage if, after all this time and energy, it doesn’t pay off with Hangman as the triumphant hero.
