It’s the Full Gear Buy-In!

Backstage interview with MJF and Wardlow.

Alexander brings up Chris Jericho calling MJF “soft,” but MJF won’t let that word be said in his presence. No one gets to say that, because MJF is NOT soft. MJF is razor sharp, tough as nails, and no one is tougher than him! Everyone seems to get it twisted seeing the suits, the scarf and the jewelry. But don’t get it wrong, folks, because no one is better than him bell to bell. Jericho VS MJF is very important. Demo God VS Ratings Ruler, two of the biggest names in all of pro-wrestling going toe to toe! This is the most important match in MJF’s life. That seems a lot to say because MJF faced “Jonathan Moxley” for the AEW World Championship. But MJF says you’re stupid thinking that was big, because “Jonathan Moxley” cheated.

When MJF beats Jericho, and he will beat Jericho, MJF gets to have the Inner Circle at his helm. He will be part of the greatest faction in all of wrestling, and get all the gold he wants. How does Wardlow feel about joining The Inner Circle? MJF says that’s a great question and answers it for Wardlow. Wardlow will be a great fit in the Inner Circle, so long as Jake Hager stops making faces at him. Then let’s talk about the Inner Circle members resisting him turning. Oh of course you’d bring that up, stooge. MJF knows people don’t like MJF. But do you know what that doesn’t matter? Because he’s better than you, and he knows it. But will he do what he promises and win his way in to the Inner Circle?

The crossover continues between NWA and AEW! The freshly minted champion is back again to defend this title against the newest free agent to hit the wrestling market! The fighting champion is 2-0 in title defenses here in Daily’s Place! But wait! Thunder Rosa is here! The previous champion is back in AEW’s venue and heads right to the ring! Deeb holds up the title as she and Rosa go face to face. Will AEW be where these two have their rematch for that title?

Backstage interview with Eddie Kingston and “The Fam.”

This is the most important night in Kingston’s career, but Alexander would like to ask “The Fam” how they feel about this. Sure, why not. Specifically to Butcher, Blade and Bunny, do they think he has what it takes to make Moxley say “I Quit?” Does HE not think Kingston has what it takes? Allie of course knows Kingston will do it and won’t say quit. So stupid. Okay, sorry. Moving on to the Lucha Brothers, do THEY think Kingston has what it takes? Of course! Kingston is: number one, Penta’s best friend; number two, the best in the world; and Fenix has the third, Kingston is capable of anything.

So then to Kingston himself. We saw a very intense confrontation on Dynamite. Is it about the AEW World Championship? Or about making Moxley say those two words? Nothing is more important than the world title. Nothing. Not revenge, not making someone say they quit or beating them half to death. The only title that means anything in the only company that matters, is what matters tonight. Then if he becomes champion tonight, Archer is ready to go after him. is that a concern? Kingston doesn’t care about that. Tonight is just about the championship. Moxley has it, so Archer doesn’t matter. PAC doesn’t matter. Kingston does not care about anything else. Will this dangerous determination and focus be exactly what helps Kingston defeat Moxley?

2020 has been a year of hardships.

But it has also been a year that has made us all stronger. Full Gear will be the culmination and celebration of AEW’s fighting spirt. Tonight, there are no limits for these men and women! It just comes down to who wants it more! Do not underestimate the fortitude of a quiet man, as Darby Allin goes for gold. The games are over as MJF takes on Chris Jericho. The Young Bucks put it all on the line when it comes to the AEW World Tag Team Championships. The Native Beast hungers for gold. Former friends and tag partners fight for the same destiny. And speaking of former friends, THE title stands between them. Welcome to the show!

AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament Finals: Kenny Omega VS Hangman Page!

History waits for no one so why wait for this historic showdown? Speaking of which, there is so much history here between The Cleaner and The Cowboy! First they were allies in The Elite, then they were thrown together as tag team partners that then took the gold, but now they’re on choppy waters. Will that friendship still be in one piece after going head to head for a shot at the championship?

Omega’s elaborate entrance changes again. “He prepared for Joey Janela but he beat Sonny Kiss. He trained for Rey Fenix but overcame Penta El Zero M.” Now he is here in the finals of this tournament! If not for the interference of The Dark Order’s Number 4, this card might have been very different. Backstage interview with The Natural Nightmares.

They were attacked the last time they were talking backstage, but QT Marshall doesn’t want to talk Butcher and Blade, he wants to call out Allie. She used QT to infiltrate the Nightmare Family not because she was bored, but because she knows the Nightmare Family is THE most prolific family in wrestling today! And Blade is playing victim that his wife was with QT? Oh please. If it wasn’t QT, it’d be someone else, because Blade doesn’t have his house in order.

Dustin wants to set this straight. There have been many successful women who have come through this sport. Allie is NOT one of them! This coming Dynamite, Dustin asked Tony Khan and he approved, their match with The Butcher & Blade is now a BUNK HOUSE MATCH! And if you don’t know what that is, you are about to learn! This Wednesday, Butcher will be gasping for air trying to keep up as Dustin kicks his ass, because he won’t even last 10 minutes! Understand that, punks! This is war! Who is going down in AEW’s first ever Bunk House Match?

AEW Women’s World Championship: Hikaru Shida VS Nyla Rose w/ Vickie Guerrero!

Double Or Nothing 2020 was an epic showdown, and the Full Metal Warrior was the one to finally dethrone the Native Beast! MJF grins as he goes back to Jericho and hammerlocks the arm to then hit a modified backbreaker! MJF stomps Jericho, digs his boots in, but goes until the ref’s count of 4! Fans boo and jeer but MJF just soaks it all up.

MJF knuckle locks and wrenches but Jericho throws forearms. MJF whips and OVERHEAD suplexes! Cover, TWO! MJF is too sore to be frustrated, and the fans rally up as both men slowly rise. MJF goes to a corner, climbs up top, but Jericho uses the ropes to trip him up! MJF is stuck up top, Jericho CHOPS him! Jericho climbs up, fans fire up, but MJF resissts. MJF GOURD BUSTERS Jericho down, adjusts, and leaps to DUMDUM STOMP the bad arm! Fans boo but MJF is after the arm again! Jericho fights back, MJF wrings him out into buckles! Cover, TWO! Jericho survives and fans rally up. Fans troll MJF as a “Stupid Idiot!” MJF seethes as he gets up and kicks at Jericho. MJF pie faces, too, then eggs him on! “What you got, b*tch?!”

Jericho counter punches MJF, trades elbows and fires off jabs, but MJF pokes the eye! MJF runs, into a CHOP! Jericho used the bad arm but he still took MJF down! Fans rally, Jericho figures he’ll CHOP with the left hand! It’s doing just as good, but MJF makes Jericho use the right hand! MJF grabs the arm and drags Jericho down! SALT OF THE EARTH FUJIWARA! Jericho endures as MJF cranks over and over! Fans rally, Jericho rolls and gets a leg, but MJF resists the turn! Jericho still gets the WALLS OF JERICHO! MJF endures, Jericho sits down deep, but MJF powers up and he crawls for ropes! ROPEBREAK! Jericho lets go fast, thinking he won. The ref points out he didn’t, and he argues with Aubrey Edwards, as always.

Jericho stomps MJF, stalks up behind him, and then stomps him more. The ref backs Jericho off but MJF grabs at Aubrey. She gets mad at him but Jericho stalks over. MJF throws Jericho out, then hotshots him! Jericho denies the Heatseeker but MJF steals the CODE BREAKER! And then hits the HEATSEEKER! Cover, TWO!! Jericho survives and fans rlaly up again. MJF stands, stomps Jericho, then steals the LIONSAULT! MJF has to land on his feet as Jericho moves and Jericho hits a CODE BREAKER! Cover, TWO! Fans rally up more as Jericho drags MJF back up. MJF cradles, TWO!! That was close! MJF swings, Jericho moves, but Judas Effect is CAUGHT! MJF wrangles Jericho down, has the arm and SALT OF THE EARTH!

Jericho endures, fans rally, and Jericho drags himself to ropes. MJF BITES the hand, but Jericho still gets the ropebreak! MJF lets go in frustration, but he calls Wardlow for help! MJF gets the Dynamite Diamond Ring! Wardlow distracts the ref, but MJF misses! Someone tosses Floyd the Baseball Bat to Jericho! Jake Hager is here! How did he get Floyd from North Carolina to Florida so fast? But MJF pulls an Eddie and falls down! The ref thinks Jericho clobbered MJF with the bat!! Jericho defends his innocence, MJF rolls him up! MJF WINS!

Winner: MJF, by pinfall (joins the Inner Circle)

Hager protests, this is not what they wanted! But MJF got away with one, having outsmarted the 30 year veteran! But a deal is a deal, and Jericho stands with MJF, both their heavies on standby. Fans chant “Inner Circle!” and MJF offers that handshake again. Jericho takes it, and then they hug! Jericho welcomes MJF and Wardlow to the team! MJF holds the ropes open for Jericho and the two head out together. Will this new dream team take over all of AEW?

Welcome back to the alternative reality.

AEW Revolution returns in 2021! February 27th, AEW will bring about another dimension of wrestling! But with next year feeling like an eternity away, what will the landscape of AEW even look like by then?

Backstage interview with Orange Cassidy,

Congratulations are in order, what are his thoughts on his win over John Silver? Best Friends are excited, but Cassidy has no thoughts. Miro, Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford walk up and say this has nothing to do with Best Friends. This has to do with “Clementine” and all the stuff with The Dark Order. Penelope almost got hurt during that! Apologize! Cassidy says sorry but Kip SLAPS him! That wasn’t good enough! Cassidy takes off the sunglasses to say it’s fine. Cassidy and Best Friends head out. Kip doesn’t understand, but will Freshly Squeezed have a more impassioned response next time?

AEW World Championship I Quit match: Jon Moxley VS Eddie Kingston!

Last year, in Baltimore, for Full Gear 2019, The Maniac went 1v1 against Kenny Omega in an unsanctioned match. That match raised the bar for a new level of brutality. This year, Moxley is back on the card but in a much more personal battle. The Mad King was once one of Moxley’s closest friends, but the many twists and turns of life twisted and turned Kingston into a bitter enemy. Now, the only way to settle this is for one man to say the two words that can break even the strongest man’s spirit. Who will go beyond brutality in order to be THE AEW World Champion?

The introductions are made, Moxley says his prayer of forgiveness for what he has to do, and the belt is raised. Fans are fired up already as this match with nothing holding them back begins!

They start right away with a flurry of fists! Moxley gets the edge and knocks Kingston down! Kingston gets up fast to CHOP back, so Moxley CHOPS him! They CHOP back and forth more and more, egging the other on! Kingston fires off a strike fest but Moxley gets around for an ankle pick takedown. Kingston blocks with a clinch but Moxley bites whatever he can! Moxley gets an arm, Kingston fights up and they clinch at ropes. Moxley CHOPS but Kingston just walks it off! Kingston CHOPS, Moxley CHOPS, and then they shift to forearms and SLAPS! It’s a slap fight, both men egging each other on! Kingston kicks and CLUBS Moxley but Moxley throws a forearm! Moxley runs, into an OVERHEAD SUPLEX! Moxley goes to the apron and gets out, but Kingston goes out after him.

Fans rally and duel as Kingston rakes eyes! Kingston puts Moxley in, gets a chair, but Moxley DIVES to knock Kingston into railing! Moxley grabs that chair and CHUCKS it at Kingston’s head! Then Moxley whips Kingston into railing! Moxley clears a path and goes after Kingston’s fingers! “I’ll break your fingers!” Kingston doesn’t quit so Moxley TWISTS the fingers! Moxley drags Kingston up, throws haymakers, and then bumps him off railing! Kingston uppercuts back! Moxley throws a forearm, Kingston hits back with body shots. They brawl, Kingston rakes eyes and Moxley staggers away. Kingston follows and goes to suplex. Moxley blocks to snap suplex Kingston to the cement! The ref asks but Kingston refuses to say anything.

Moxley gets Kingston with a chinlock and grinds him down! Kingston endures, and BITES the arm! Moxley lets go, fans rally up as Kingston and Moxley get up. Kingston kicks Moxley back to ringside and then whips him into the railing! Moxley is sent for a loop but Kingston brings him up. Kingston CHOPS Moxley, throws punches while he has Moxley in a headlock. Kingston POSTS Moxley and then goes around the way to bring out a chair. And another chair! Kingston goes around the way again and hobbles into the ring. Fans rally as Moxley finds BARBIE! The barbed wire baseball bat is here! Kingston has his chairs together but Moxley SMACKS, and SMACKS, and SMACKS Kingston with the bat! Moxley kicks the chairs over, and he glares at Kingston through his own blood.

Moxley GRINDS barbed wire into Kingston’s forehead!! Kingston is already bleeding from a bloody lip, but Kingston again vows to Moxley, “You’re gonna have to kill me!” Moxley has drawn blood from Kingston’s face as well as other places, but Kingston refuses to give in. Moxley wants to hit him with the bat, but Kingston gets around to SAIDO! Kingston fires up to SAIDO again! Kingston grabs a chair, and CHUCKS it at Moxley! A simple but effective receipt there. Kingston punches Moxley but Moxley gouges eyes and throws haymakers! Kingston DECKS Moxley, then chokes him! Kingston lets up to grab Barbie for his own! Kingston sets it in position and SLAMS Moxley onto it! Moxley checks his chest and stomach while Kingston smiles a bloody smile.

Kingston SMACKS Moxley on the back with the chair! And then CHUCKS it into his head again! Kingston picks up Barbie and pulls off a loose strand off? Kingston wraps it around his own wrist, which is double-edged, but worth it in his mind as he punches away with the BARBED WIRE FIST!! And DIGS it into Moxley’s face! Moxley SLAPS Kingston but Kingston BARBED WIRE URAKENS!! Kingston gets the KIMURA!! Moxley endures, fights, but Kingston headbutts! Moxley BITES Kingston’s knee! Kingston clubs Moxley then SLAPS him all over! Moxley gets to a corner but Kingston digs his boot in! Fans rally as Kingston lets up to go fetch a chair. Kingston recreates his little chair pair and points it out to Moxley.

Kingston drags Moxley up and over, and fans that aren’t squeamish are still cheering them on. Moxley blocks a suplex to turn things around and snap suplex Kingston ONTO THE CHAIRS! Both men are down but somehow still stirring! Kingston CLOBBERS Moxley! Fans boo but Kingston heads to the outside. Kingston goes back under the ring to bring out a sack! Those are never good… Kingston brings the sack to the ring and pours it out. THUMBTACKS! Kingston brings Moxley over, but Moxley gets around to GERMAN SUPLEX! They avoid the tacks, and Kingston SAIDOS! Moxley LARIATS! Fans rally up as both men rise again. Moxley stands, staggers, but fires himself up!

Moxley drags Kingston up, brings him around, but Kingston avoids the Paradigm Shift to URENAGE Moxley onto TACKS!! Moxley refuses to give up, though! Kingston is furious and he rolls right out of the ring to fetch that barbed wire strand. Kingston double checks if Moxley quits, and he doesn’t. The wire is put aside and Kingston dumps over the timekeeper’s table! Kingston grabs himself a bottle of… Alcohol?! Kingston asks if Moxley quits and Moxley says no, so Kingston STOMPS Moxley’s nuts! Kingston tells Moxley to quit but Moxley still refuses, so Kingston STOMPS the nuts again!! Kingston CHOPS Moxley down, and GRINDS the nuts! Moxley refuses to quit so Kingston lets off.

Kingston grabs that bottle of rubbing alcohol, opens it up, and POURS it on Moxley’s back! All the wounds on Moxley’s back sting and burn! But that doesn’t break Moxley, so Kingston scoops a handful of tacks. Kingston sits Moxley up to SMASH the tacks on his face! But again, it is double-edged! Kingston just keeps going, not caring about his own pain. Kingston decides not to use the wire after all, but he uses the BULLY CHOKE! Moxley endures, and he dares Kingston to do his damndest! Kingston keeps cranking on the hold, then he throws crossface forearms! Kingston goes back to the Bully Choke but fans rally up. Kingston unleashes knees but Moxley gets a SLEEPER! Moxley squeezes tight and spins Kingston around, PILEDRIVER! Suzuki-san would be proud!

Moxley puts Kingston in the BULLY CHOKE! Kingston fights up, Moxley kicks low, PARADIGM SHIFT!! The fans that can still bare to watch cheer but Kingston flips Moxley off. Kingston stirs, Moxley grabs that big of wire and bends it around. “There’s no other way out, Eddie! Don’t make me do this.” Moxley wraps the wire around his forearm but again Kingston flips him off. BARBED WIRE BULLY CHOKE!!! The wire is right under Kingston’s neck!! Kingston sputters and the ref begs Kingston to give up! Kingston says “I QUIT!” Moxley wins!!

Winner: Jon Moxley (still AEW World Champion)

“Winner” in name only, as Moxley had to do so much horrifying damage to a former friend. But in the end, Moxley is undefeated in 2020 and of course undefeated as champion. “That’s what a champion is made of! Heart, soul, blood and guts!!” Is there ever going to be an end to Moxley’s reign? Moxley wants to help Kingston up, but Kingston refuses. Kingston staggers away alone, but will he be able to pick up the pieces? And then Kenny Omega walks out! Omega is reminded of his match with Moxley at Full Gear. That’s why Omega will gladly stay out of the ring for right now. When and where will Maniac and Cleaner collide for the title they’re both willing to fight so hard for?

My Thoughts:

What a great PPV for AEW here! I feel like Full Gear is going to become the “extreme” PPV for AEW every year, and I actually think that’s great. The I Quit match was just as hardcore as last year’s “unsanctioned” match but perhaps not as wild or fast-paced as that one. Kingston is a methodical type, and Moxley can play that way, too, so it worked that these guys weren’t going all over the place to the same level as Moxley and Omega did last year. They did explore a lot of the ringside space but perhaps if there wasn’t COVID concerns anymore, they would’ve gotten into the stands where fans were or something. Still a really powerful match, and it was a brilliant little detail for the referee in for that match was Bryce, a legit friend of Kingston’s, as was made canon roughly a month ago. Bryce didn’t want Kingston to lose his career along with the match, so it worked that he was there pleading with Kingston as much as Moxley.

Opening with Omega VS Hangman was a great surprise and those two really went above and beyond. It makes a lot of sense for Omega to win. Moxley VS Omega, revisiting the first year of AEW, will make for great story as we go further into the second year. I suppose there is a way those two could drag it out until February when Revolution 2021 happens, but that’s a rather long build. Perhaps that’s part of why Archer wants to get involved against Kingston and “The Fam” on top of the title hunt. Also I just want to say that’s a bit of a lame and lazy name for Kingston’s faction but oh well. Hangman’s story is also the one that’s properly paced for the story Cody already did of “If I don’t win this title now, I’ll never challenge for it again.”

Let’s be honest, Cody still could’ve ended up TNT Champion this whole time even without playing that card. Hangman is surely going to pull that move during the Summer of 2021 when he finally makes his way back to the title for perhaps Double or Nothing or even All Out. Then Hangman will have his back against the wall against Moxley or Omega, which makes for a great match-up either way, and that will be Hangman’s moment so that he has the best actual long term storytelling of AEW. Speaking of Cody, glad to see WWE gave up on the name blocking thing. Cody VS Darby was great stuff, lots of strong character work and story references, and of course it had to be Darby winning. Team Taz getting involved at the end there was a good move given what has been built, including Will Hobbs again helping Darby. A little disappointed Cage and Starks both grabbed at the belt when Cage is FTW Champion, but I suppose wrestlers are allowed to be greedy about that stuff.

Both women’s championship matches were really good tonight, and it’s exciting to see Thunder Rosa back again. She’s signed with NWA until late into next year so obviously she’ll have another shot at that title. I wonder how much of that story will be divided between NWA and AEW. It’s obviously a clever way to get fans watching NWA, of course. As for the AEW Women’s World Championship, it’s great for Shida that she retains in a match on par, maybe even better than Double Or Nothing’s earlier this year. I just felt like story should’ve dictated Nyla winning with cheating thanks to Vickie, because that’s literally why they’re a duo now. But Vickie actually humbling Nyla there is an interesting twist, so maybe they have plans for how to add to this.

Cassidy VS Silver was pretty good but it still feels like something they could’ve done on Dynamite. Same goes for Miro and Kip confronting Cassidy and Best Friends backstage. Not quite sure where that story is going but Cassidy VS Miro could actually be really good stuff. Also not sure why we needed to fill time with Natural Nightmares announcing the first-ever Bunkhouse Match with Butcher and Blade, but hey, that sounds like it’ll be great stuff. The Elite Deletion was a really good cinematic style match, but it wasn’t quite what I expected at first, then turned into everything I totally wanted and more! Hurricane and Gangrel show up to reference the unfinished project Hardy was working on while still with WWE, so that was great, and there was great use of editing to up the brutality and physical damage on Sammy. Who knows what happens next, but maybe Sammy returns with some kind of BROKEN persona of his own to take this to an even crazier level.

Jericho VS MJF was a really good match, but of course MJF finds a way to win. I did like how he had a target and was going after it in the right arm, aka the Judas Effect arm. But then he also had his many back-up plans, and referencing the late, great Eddie Guerrero is always a plus. There has to come a point when tensions reach boiling levels, maybe Hager and Wardlow fight because of obvious overlaps in their role as the big, mean muscle. And honestly, Bucks VS FTR was everything expected and more. I loved that FTR and Bucks each used a few finishers of iconic tag teams from all around wrestling, even DIY Ciampa and Gargano of NXT. That alone is FTR saying Ciampa and Gargano are among the greats, which they are. But of course with the all or nothing stipulation, Bucks were going to win to be the flipside to Cody. Omega showing up but Hangman hanging back was great, too, as it gives us another glimpse into the still rocky dynamic within The Elite.

My Score: 9.4/10

Toni Storm is here!

Or rather, she’s still here given just last night, the TIMELESS AEW Women’s World Champion won a Fatal 4 Way Eliminator. And now she’s in the special box seat “balcony” with mic in hand. Detroit cheers and she blows kisses before saying, “So many men have taken a shot at me in here, I’m feeling like Abraham Lincoln. I will never forget my first. It was messy, it was sweaty, and painful. But I only wanted more. Once a month, once a week, twice a week, I was hooked. But then, it only became more risky. One at a time, then two at a time. And three at a time! Incorporating random objects, all the while being watched by perverts.”

The fans cheer being perverts but then Toni says, “One day, it will not end well for me. It will break my body and soil my soul. But in the end, I know it’s what I was born to do. And if you think I was referring to sexual intercourse, then get your minds out of the gutter!” Toni takes a moment before she continues, “Because the best bang could not compare to fighting for this!” She holds up the title and the fans cheer more! “I am not waiting for a Hayter or a CEO. So next week, line up the next batch of slop tarts, because baby wants to binge!” The fans also like the sound of that! Toni says spit on it and sit on it, and let’s get TIMELESS~!

The fans applaud and Toni takes a bow. Beach Break just got that much bigger, but who will take their shot at The Tramp that is The Champ?

Backstage interview with Paragon.

Lexy Nair is with Adam Cole, Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly to ask them about the 2 Out of 3 Falls last Saturday. Roddy says that to say they’re disappointed is an understatement. He and Kyle are one of the best teams on this planet, and they thought it’d be like riding a bike. But it has been a bit more difficult than they thought. Kyle agrees that they’re frustrated and disappointed, but what they aren’t doing is taking anything away from themselves. They’re the Paragon and they’re still one of the best tag teams out there. And any other day, any other time, 99 out of 100, Kyle & Roddy win that match.

Cole agrees, and he knows that was tough last week. But they are one of the best teams in the world. There will be plenty of chances to prove that this year. But in step the Grizzled Young Veterans and Zack Gibson says say that again. He can’t believe Paragon has the nerve to stand here sulking and complaining. Honestly, this three are three of the best ever. The problem is, they’ve gone soft! They’ve forgotten what it is to fight for their sport. So any time they’re ready, GYV will remind them what that’s like. Kyle & Roddy say why not. GYV will be the first time that gets stomped on Paragon’s way back to the top!

GYV laugh that off then take their leave. But when and where will Liverpool’s Number One & Mr. Mayhem take on the Savior of the Backbreaker & the Violent Artist?

Ricochet VS Angelico w/ Serpentico!

The One & Only just got a big win last night alongside the Young Bucks, but now he looks to get a win on his own. Will Ricochet make Detroit #OuttaThisWorld two nights in a row? Or will tonight belong to Spanish Announce Project’s South African Stud?

The bell rings and the fans rally as Angelico and Ricochet circle. They feel things out, circle more, then Angelico leaves Ricochet hanging by smoothing his hair. Ricochet says ha ha, more bald jokes. Ricochet waistlocks, the fans chant, “He Has Hair!” but Ricochet hammerlocks and snapmares to then ghost pin, TWO! Ricochet taunts Angelico that this is professional wrestling, not modeling. Angelico trips Ricochet to cover, ONE! Angelico has a cording hold and he keeps Ricochet from the ropes. Ricochet wrenches, but Angelico gets the cording hold back! Ricochet endures, reaches out, but Angelico arm-drags him to the mat!

The fans cheer more, but Ricochet kips up. Angelico wrangles him back down! Ricochet claws at Angelico but Angelico polishes the bald head! The fans cheer and Angelico keeps on the arm. Ricochet fights up again, but Angelico wrangles him back down! Angelico gives Ricochet more polish, then stands him up to wrench and cording hold. Ricochet throws a body shot, flips up and over, but Angelico switches arms for a modified Cobra Twist! Angelico holds up his hand and the fans cheer, but Ricochet fights free and bails out. The fans boo but then Angelico sneaks up to clamp on shoulder claws!

Ricochet fights back, and he THROWS Angelico to the floor! Ricochet skins the cat, then TORNILLO PLANCHAS! Ricochet takes down Angelico, taunts Serpentico, then goes storming off to grab a chair! Ricochet chases off #SNAKEMAN, and Collision goes picture in picture.

Ricochet gets up on the barrier to soak up more heat, and he even flicks sweat off his bald head! Ricochet puts Angelico in the ring, stalks him to ropes, then CHOKES him! The ref counts, Ricochet backs off, and Serpentico coaches Angelico. Angelico sputters but Ricochet brings him up for a snapmare. Ricochet digs his knee into Angelico’s back as part of the chinlock. Angelico endures, fights up, and fires body shots. Angelico is free, runs the ropes, but Ricochet DROPKICKS him down! Ricochet taunts the fans, covers Angelico, TWO! Angelico is tougher than that but Ricochet covers again, ONE! And again, ONE! And again, ONE!!

Ricochet throws a fit and SLAPS Angelico down before arguing with the ref. The ref defends the count, so Ricochet just stomps away on Angelico’s back! Ricochet taunts the fans, goes back to stomp Angelico and kick him around, then he kicks Angelico to the ropes. Angelico rises to BODY BLOW! And JAB! Ricochet staggers back, Angelico fires more shots! Angelico runs, KICKS the backdrop away, then runs again, only for Ricochet to FLAPJACK him off ropes and JUMPING NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Angelico survives and Collision returns to single picture. Ricochet storms his way to a corner while the fans boo.

Ricochet aims and 450- NO, he has to bail out as Angelico moves! Ricochet comes back but Angelico dodges again, Ricochet hits only buckles! Angelico swings, Ricochet dodges and shoves to TIGER WALL KICK! And SOBAT! KNEE! But Angelico KNEES in return! Ricochet rebounds to V-TRIGGER! ROLLING- NO, Angelico clinches for a LIFTING FLATLINER! The fans fire up while both men are down! A standing count starts, Ricochet and Angelico stir, and they rise at 5 of 10. Angelico counters a punch and then fires haymakers! Angelico whips, Ricochet reverses, but then Ricochet catches the leap!

Angelico fights Ricochet’s clinch with elbows, then whips, but Ricochet reverses, Angelico LEAPING LARIATS! And LEAPING LARIATS again! The fans fire up and Angelico storms up to Ricochet. Angelico whips, Ricochet reverses, but Angelico reverses back! COBRA TWIST, and the HEAD SLAPS! The fans fire up as Angelico just takes Ricochet to task! Ricochet sputters and staggers around, Angelico kicks and Canadian Racks! YOYO SLAM, into a hammerlock and HALF CRAB! Ricochet endures, reaches out, but Angelico gets the other arm! Ricochet kicks with his free leg and has the ROPEBREAK! The fans boo but Angelico lets go.

Ricochet goes to the apron, Angelico storms up, but Ricochet HOTSHOTS him! And then FLICKS the ropes at Angelico to hit down low! Ricochet then springboards and FLYING LARIATS! The fans boo but Ricochet runs for a STANDING SHOOTING STAR! Cover, TWO! Ricochet just keeps going, dragon sleeper for the VERTIGO!! Ricochet rolls back, locks ‘n’ loads, and SPIRIT GUN!! Cover, Ricochet wins!

Winner: Ricochet, by pinfall

Ricochet made sure Angelico was done before he got the 1-2-3, and now he gets the mic. “Go ahead. C’mon, I can’t hear you! I can’t hear you!” The fans boo and taunt him more and Ricochet says he welcomes it all! Their boos mean NOTHING to him, because he sees what they cheer for. And c’mon, if you cheer for the Detroit Lions, that means you’re dumb as hell. If you were smart, if you had any amount of common sense, you’d be cheering for him! The fans keep taunting him with “They’re Not Bald!” But Ricochet says the Eagles won the Super Bowl, what’re they talking about? They should be cheering him, because he’s been here less than a year and he’s beaten most of the favorites!

Brody King, Will Ospreay, Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight, Mark Briscoe, Swerve Strickland, and even Kenny Omega! All of them are AEW legends, and Ricochet beat them all! But wait, speaking of legends… Ricochet points out the living legend, Zach Gowen! Ricochet remembers growing up, watching wrestling, he was a huge fan of Zach Gowen. Huge fan. He remembers when big Brock would beat him up and down the arena, that was awesome. But the thing is, Daddy Gowen used to be on this side of the barriers, but now he’s on the other side of them. What happened, Zach? Doesn’t have a leg in the fight anymore?

Ricochet laughs at his own offensive joke, and then asks where that fire is now. He pushes Zach around, security rushes in and Ricochet says he wasn’t doing anything! They’re just talking! Then he BOPS each and every guard! They like that? Ricochet THROWS one guy into railing! Ricochet does his own commentary as he sends another one into the steel steps! Then he puts the third one in the ring, and says Zach might like this. The fans boo but now Ricochet brings out THE SCISSORS! Ricochet cuts this guy’s hair up! But Zach jumps into the ring!! The fans cheer as Zach snatches the scissors from Ricochet!

The fans cheer as Zach asks what is wrong with Ricochet! Ricochet says sorry, sorry! But then he KICKS Zach’s leg out! And then SPIRIT GUN!! The fans boo even more but Ricochet isn’t done with Zach. He takes Zach’s prosthetic leg away! The fans boo as loud as they can as Ricochet leaves with the leg! Ricochet isn’t just humiliating Zach Gowen, he’s committing a crime! Ricochet holds the leg up as a trophy, then mockingly limps with it. Will anyone ever humble the ego that is #OuttaThisWorld?

8 Man Tag: The Don Callis Family VS The Outrunners, Bandido & AR Fox!

Don Callis himself dared Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd to find a friend so they could settle things with Roppongi Vice and the Family, but the Outrunners did better than that! They found TWO friends! Will the Most Wanted ROH World Champion and the Whole Fox’n Show help the Youngest Men Alive humble Callis’ cronies? Or will Trent Beretta, Rocky Romero, Lance Archer & Kyle Fletcher use them to take out all of their frustrations?

Callis of course joins commentary while the teams sort out. Callis calls tonight “Don Callis Championship Wrestling,” and says Detroit boos him and his Family because it is a city of losers. Kyle Fletcher starts against Bandido and the fans fire up. Kyle and Bandido circle, the fans rally up more, and they tie up. They go around, Kyle puts Bandido on the ropes. The fans rally for Bandido and he dodges the chop to CHOP! Kyle swings, Bandido dodges and headlocks. Kyle powers up and out, Bandido RAMS him, but Kyle rebounds to RUN Bandido over! Kyle flexes, the fans boo, but then Turbo flexes and the fans cheer.

BREAKING NEWS for Beach Break!

After the assault and humiliation that we saw earlier tonight, Zach Gowen is going to make his return to wrestling! Will Zach get revenge on Ricochet for taking things too far?

Jon Moxley speaks.

“So, we’re through the obligatory preamble, casualties on both sides. Last night, you took out my number one lieutenant. Now I could vow revenge and talk about all the things I’m gonna do to Samoa Joe once I get him inside that steel cage. But that would be rather rote, and probably mostly untrue. What do we know? The consensus is Samoa Joe is gonna kick my ass. And yeah, there’s nobody on the planet better at getting their ass kicked than me. The question isn’t whether Joe will beat me up. The question is, how long can he do it? Five, eight minutes? Ten? 20? 25? I’ve got all night.

“I know you don’t think very much of me, Joe, but you are one of the guys that I have genuine respect for. You are the embodiment of a champion. But you’re not the AEW World Champion, I am. And I know that no matter what happens to me inside that steel cage in Chicago, no matter what Hell is put on me, no matter what I am put through in that steel cage, I know I have been through worse. I have been through the kind of Hell, I have weathered the kind of storms, I have faced down the kinds of demons that would keep these kids up at night. So I don’t need to be feared or respected by you or anybody else. I just need you to show up.

“I don’t get along with the rest of the world because I am not like the rest of the world. And believe it or not, next week, there is nowhere else in the world I would rather be than locked inside a steel cage in Chicago with the AEW World Championship hanging in the balance, with the baddest man in pro-wrestling, Samoa Joe. I didn’t build my foundation on sand. When the storm comes through, the only thing that matters is who is the last man standing.” The Maniac has issued his ultimatum, will he ultimately be the baddest man in AEW?

Garcia steps through, and he turns Dax over for the DRAGON TAMER!! But Stoke distracts the ref, letting Cash drag Garcia out! DRAPING NECKBREAKER to the floor! Cash points to commentary to give a thumbs up, but wait! DADDY MAGIC is here! The fans cheer as Matt Menard CLOBBERS Cash!

The fans fire up, Stoke freaks out, and Menard fires off on Cash in a corner! Detroit is all fired up as Collision goes picture in picture!

Cash runs away to the back but Menard pursues! Now things are a bit more even, with Stoke coaching a bloodied and dazed Dax. Dax staggers to his feet, goes over to Garcia, and drags him up to put him in the ring. Dax talks more trash on the fans, then he storms in after Garcia. Dax suplexes and hits a BRAINBUSTER! Cover, TWO! Garcia is still in this and Dax grows frustrated. The ref checks Dax while the fans rally behind Garcia. Dax is okay to continue, and he brings Garcia up, only for Garcia to cradle! TWO!! Dax stands and LARIATS Garcia down! Dax huffs ‘n’ puffs and TOSSES Garcia to the apron! Dax brings Garcia through the ropes, to then CHOP!

Dax KICKS and ROCKS Garcia on repeat! Then he reels Garcia in for a DRAPING DDT! Cover, TWO! Dax rains down fists without hesitation! Dax hears the fans taunting him so he dares them to do something. Dax holds the ropes open but obviously no one takes the offer. Dax drags Garcia up, CHOPS him, and he storms up on Garcia at the ropes. Garcia ROCKS and CHOPS in return, but Dax CHOPS again! Garcia sputters and falls back while Dax soaks up the heat. Dax paces around Garcia, taunts Detroit more, and Collision returns to single picture. The fans boo as hard as they can but Dax talks trash on Garcia now.

Dax kicks at Garcia, egging him on. Garcia scowls as Dax pie faces him! The fans rally, Garcia rises, and Dax looks worried. Dax SLAPS Garcia, but Garcia just clamps onto Dax’s neck! Dax breaks fere, Garcia CHOP, CHOPS, and CHOPS! Garcia CHOPS away on Dax at the ropes! The fans fire up and Garcia whips, but Dax reverses. Garcia LARIATS, Dax staggers, so Garcia runs again! Another LARIAT but Dax still stays on his feet! Garcia runs, Dax ROCKS him, and then Dax whips. Garcia reverses, Dax reverses to wrench, but Garcia dodges the lariat to LARIAT! Down goes Dax and the fans fire up!

Stoke is frustrated for Dax as the fans rally up. Garcia storms up on Dax to climb up. Garcia rains down fists, and the fans count all the way to nine. Garcia foams at the mouth before he hits TEN! The fans fire up, Garcia waistlocks, but Dax holds onto a buckle pad! That pad comes loose, Garcia still hits a SAIDO! The fans fire up as Garcia covers, TWO!! Dax survives but Garcia goes for the legs. Dax CLAWS at Garcia’s face and shoves him away! Garcia still gets the legs and trips Dax up! DRAGON- NO, Dax fights and BOOTS Garcia into the bare steel! SLINGSHOT POWERBOMB!! Cover, TWO?!?! Garcia survives and Detroit is thunderous!

Stokely is seething and Dax is pissed, but the fans continue to rally for “DANNY! DANNY!” Dax goes up, and Garcia CHOPS first! Garcia climbs, brings Dax up, and they go to the very top! SUPER DUPER PLEX!! And then a roll through! Garcia hoists Dax up to the top rope again, and goes back up top! Another SUPER DUPER PLEX!! But Garcia isn’t done, he’s taking Three Amigos to a new level! The fans are thunderous as Garcia goes to the next corner, hoists Dax up, and climbs again! The fans want the hattrick, and Garcia brings Dax up! SUPER DUPER THREE AMIGOS!!! Both men are down and the fans are electric!

Stokely is furious as Garcia crawls to a cover! ROPEBREAK!! Garcia miscalculates and that works out for Dax! “This is Awesome!” and that might be an understatement! Dax and Garcia rise, go forehead to forehead, and then they go forearm for forearm! Garcia gets the edge and the fans love it! Garcia BOOTS Dax out of the ring, then pursues! Stoke has to run away before Garcia CLOBBERS Dax from behind! They go into the crowd, the fans fire up as they’re even closer to the action now! This brawl goes through the stands, around behind commentary, and Dax SMACKS Garcia off railing! And then off more railing!

Schiavone & Nigel just mind their own business, and yet Dax still feels the need to push Nigel’s headset off him! The fans boo and Nigel seethes. Nigel stands up, Dax dares him to do something! Detroit tells Dax he done F’d up, but Nigel just puts his headset back on. Nigel says he is a professional, but a professional commentator. Dax is the wrestler, so Nigel will not touch him. Dax SHOVES Nigel down! Nigel is furious but Dax already storms off to find Garcia. Dax puts Garcia in the ring, but Garcia reels Dax in! Dax fights the lift, Stoke barks from the apron! The ref backs stoke off, but Dax LOW BLOWS Garcia!

But now Nigel is storming down to ringside! Garcia fights the lift and Nigel is on the apron! Dax storms up on Nigel, but Nigel RAMS Dax down low! UPPERCUT! But Cash is back! He kicks Nigel low, reels him in, but Nigel WRINGS Cash out! Garcia LARIATS Dax up and out, and clearly by now the ref has just thrown this one out!

No Contest

Menard is back and he LARIATS Cash up and out! The fans fire up as Menard, Garcia and McGuinness stand tall together! FTR kept pushing buttons but they pushed the wrong ones! Will Stoke, Dax & Cash have to fear the repercussions of their actions?

My Thoughts:

A great Collision, but it apparently caught a bit of the Go Home Syndrome. There were quite a few recap packages I skipped but clearly they are working to hype Beach Break for next. Moxley’s newest promo was alright, didn’t really add much, because as I said just last night, Moxley surely finds a way to retain with help from The Death Riders. I will say, it made a lot of sense for the remaining Death Riders to cost Willow. Marina and Willow still have beef, and I’m still hoping on my idea from last night: Shayna Baszler shows up, teams with Marina, we get Shayna & Marina VS Willow & Kris. Let’s up the ante and get another classic Street Fight Tag out of Kris & Willow.

Great promo from Toni Storm to open the night, and good to hear Skye Blue is back. Another Fatal 4 Way Eliminator makes me wonder if one of the mystery entrants ends up taking the loss. There was also that spider during Kris VS Willow, which I believe is a teaser for Thekla. Thekla could easily jump into the Fatal 4 Way and get close to winning, but who knows. And as I said last night, not sure why they’re holding Athena back from doing much of anything right now. With Supercard of Honor now delayed to July to coincide with All In: Texas, Athena should really be getting involved more on AEW TV so people don’t forget she exists.

Very good stuff with Bowens VS Lee, and I appreciate the albeit lazy way they changed Bowen’s logo so that it doesn’t resemble the Shane Taylor Promotions’ STP. Bowens of course wins, but his promo after was pretty much the same as his other ones. At least he did one last scissoring with Billy. Bowens is unfortunately not going to get a title story right now with all the champions preoccupied in something else. Though honestly, I feel like there is a way for Okada VS Bowens to be a great match, and then someone violates the Continental Rules so that Okada loses without really losing. Best way I can think of is Swerve is hunting The Bucks, they go ringside, and since Bucks are associate with Okada, that’s a violation on his part, and it adds more heat to whatever big thing Double or Nothing has planned.

Great stuff from the Don Callis Family in all their matches. I wasn’t expecting a big 8 Man Tag, and I’m a little disappointed Brody King wasn’t one of the participants, but maybe that’s the next phase. Great showing from the Faces, especially AR Fox. Fox is in a similar boat to Bowens where he certainly deserves title opportunities but TK just isn’t seeing how to write it. But between that and the dominance Konosuke & Alexander over Dark Order, it feels like the Don Callis Family get their comeuppance with Hangman & Ospreay winning next week.

Ricochet VS Angelico was rather outta nowhere but it was still a great match. It was also clearly a vehicle so Ricochet could start beef with Zach (Zack?) Gowen and give us a Beach Break match between them for the real deepcut long time wrestling fans. Much like Bowens and Fox, I feel like Ricochet is waiting on a title to be freed up from story so he can go get those titles. Such as Paragon now feuding with Grizzled Young Veterans for a minute, which in a way keeps Adam Cole isolated. TK should’ve just given us Ricochet VS Cole for the fun of it because Ricochet VS Cole would be incredibly fun stuff. They could even revisit their NXT history if they wanted to.

Great stuff with Gates of Agony and Learning Tree, that was much better than last week’s. I really hope this gives us a Tornado Tag match. For that matter, why aren’t we getting that in the story of Anna Jay & Harley Cameron VS Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford? Good promo from those teams to hype up… just Anna VS Megan… It’d make Beach Break Collision feel all the bigger but whatever, maybe they feel Ford still isn’t up to speed after that Fatal 4 Way last night. But doing a chaotic tag match could help iron out some of that so that Ford can just focus on what she is good at with the gymnastics and throwing hands.

And awesome stuff with Garcia VS “Dax the Axe” in the main event. And yeah, I didn’t put it in myself, but they’re really committing to that as Dax’s ring name right now. Great to see Menard helping Garcia, and even Nigel standing up for himself against Dax. A “No Contest” result was a little odd but I suppose that’s like saying it is a draw where no one goes over. But with the Faces standing tall, maybe Nigel steps in and teams with Garcia right now for Double or Nothing so that Garcia teaming with Cope is the All In moment.

My Score: 8.8/10

Hangman Page is here!

Motor City fires up for that #CowboySh*t as the Men’s Owen Hart Cup finalist makes his way out to the ring. Hangman grabs a mic and says, “I don’t know that I’ve ever understood, after everything that I’ve done, why even one of you would cheer for me, but…” The fans cheer and chant for “COWBOY SH*T!” and Hangman continues, “I just want to let you know that it does make a difference, so thank you.” The fans applaud and Hangman says he probably shouldn’t have to say it, but the past two years for him have been “some kind of special Hell.” And after what happened to his family, he wanted revenge, he wanted justice, and he’d found it!

Hangman took from another man his only hopes and dreams, and Hangman nearly killed him! And after their steel cage match, Hangman stood at the top of the ramp and thought he’d finally feel some kind of joy, some kind of closure, to an awful chapter of his life. But he felt nothing. Hangman thought that maybe if he went and finished the job, he’d have his closure, but he couldn’t do it! The fans now chant, “Tell Us Why! Tell Us Why!” Hangman says he doesn’t know why. But since he couldn’t find that closure, he took that anger, bottled it up, and he unleashed it on anyone who got in his way, because he thought that’d give him catharsis! But all it did was tear down everyone around him!

“So I had to make a decision. Swerve Strickland…” The fans chant for “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” Hangman tells Swerve that he will never forgive what Swerve did to him. And he will probably never forget. But for Hangman, he will have to put it behind him. Hangman made his decision to enter this year’s Owen Hart Cup, and he defeated Josh Alexander in the first round, and then in front of his friends and family, Hangman defeated Kyle Fletcher in the second. And finally, at Double or Nothing, for a chance at the AEW World Championship, Hangman wrestles who everyone says is the BEST wrestler in the world, Will Ospreay.

The fans cheer, and then here comes Ospreay! Detroit fires up even more as the Aerial Assassin walks to the ring to be face-to-face with the Cowboy. The fans are losing their minds just from these two staring down! There’s also a “Happy Birthday!” chant for Ospreay. Ospreay apologizes for interrupting Hangman’s “therapy session,” but isn’t it a bit strange the amount of promotions they’ve both been part of, and this is the first time they’ve even spoken to one another? Just for Ospreay, it is a pleasure to meet The Hangman. And in that same breath, Ospreay wants to apologize, he sees Hangman’s been through a lot.

Ospreay’s seen it with his own eyes, and he’s seen it through the fans’ eyes. “We have watched your journey, my man. I understand how much this match means to you. I get it. I’ve seen it. We’ve all seen it. One of my favorite moments in wrestling, mate, one of my favorite moments is when you took these misfits known as The Dark Order, and you showed ’em leadership, and you showed ’em what it takes to be a cowboy, bruv.” The fans cheer that! Ospreay says from there, how Hangman rode that support and became THE AEW World Champion, “mate, it was perfect!” The fans also cheer that.

But Ospreay continues, “It’s just, after you lost it, everything changed, didn’t it? I understand. I get it. You’ve had a rough couple o’ years. I spotted something last week. Last week, after you beat Kyle Fletcher, I and these people saw something we ain’t seen from you in a long time. You smiled again.” The fans cheer that, too! Ospreay says we hadn’t seen that from The Cowboy in a long time. And while everyone here, including Ospreay, really wants Hangman to beat those demons and go reclaim his spot as the “main character” of AEW, Ospreay has a problem with that. At Double or Nothing, Ospreay is not losing.

See, while Hangman has been finding himself, he’s been tearing this place apart! Does Ospreay even need to mention Jeff Jarrett, Christopher Daniels, or even one of Ospreay’s best friends, Swerve Strickland? See, Ospreay has been doing all of Hangman’s jobs! Has Hangman been doing media? NOPE, Ospreay’s been doing it! Has Hangman been doing meet ‘n’ greets? NOPE, Ospreay’s been doing it! Has Hangman been taking photos with kids and their families? NOPE, Ospreay’s been doing it! And the best bit of it is, when they ring the bell, Ospreay is the one showing AEW is where the best wrestle! OSPREAY, NOT HANGMAN!

And what? All because Hangman is smiling again, all because Hangman’s found himself, he thinks he can just take that spot back? That don’t mean Cowboy Sh*t to Ospreay, bruv! The fans are torn, but Ospreay says all of this, he understands it is about Hangman’s redemption, but it is far too little and far too late! This is not about Hangman’s redemption, this is about Ospreay’s ascension! Ospreay and Hangman get up in each other’s face, but then The Don Callis Family shows up! With Josh Alexander, Lance Archer, Konosuke Takeshita, Rocky Romero & Trent Beretta at his back, Don Callis has a mic to say, “Y’know, Ospreay…!”

The fans boo a lot but Callis continues with how every day, Ospreay shows us just how stupid he is! The dumbest day of Ospreay’s life was when he left the Don Callis Family! The fans tell Callis off but Callis says just to prove how stupid Ospreay is, does Ospreay even know what is standing in the ring with him? Does he even know what that is next to him!? Callis will tell ya! “That is a violent, mentally unstable sociopath who put his mentor in the retirement home and he can’t walk!” The fans boo, Hangman is riled up but Ospreay has Hangman stand down. The fans again tell Callis off.

Ospreay says he’s already had enough of Callis’ talking! Why not do us a favor, Callis, and bring any two of your guys down to the ring right now so Ospreay and Hangman can- But then Hangman brushes Ospreay’s hand away. Callis says he sees what’s going on here. But y’know what? Hangman and Ospreay can’t even get through a segment together without wanting to kill one another! This is the first good idea Ospreay’s ever had! Callis will take any two members of his family to put against Ospreay & Hangman, so long as Hangman doesn’t have another mental breakdown before next week!

The fans boo more and they tell Callis to STFU. Ospreay and Hangman stare down as the Callis Family leaves, but what hand will be dealt this close to Double or Nothing?

FTR visit commentary…?

Cash Wheeler, Dax Harwood & Stokely Hathaway just walk over, and #BigStoke has the mic to tell Tony Schiavone, “Lemme ask you a question.” The fans boo but Stoke asks Schiavone if he has an issue with FTR. Does Nigel McGuinness have an issue with FTR? Because if Stoke recalls correctly, FTR issued an apology. But week after week after week after week, Schiavone has something negative to say about them, and more importantly, something negative to say about Stokely! The fans boo but Stokely says last Saturday Night Collision, Schiavone said Stoke was a snake in the grass! A snake in the grass…!

But y’know what Schiavone is? He’s a decrepit, pale, pasty piece of- Schiavone stops Stokely there and says that’s enough. The fans cheer for Tony, and Tony stands to ask Stokely & FTR to politely leave. But Stokely SHOVES Schiavone! Schiavone gets back up but FTR stand in the way. Cash tells Tony to relax! He’s so tense! Loosen up a bit. This isn’t even about Schiavone. Daniel Garcia says he wants answers, but why did FTR do what they did to him? He gave them no choice! Garcia made that decision himself. FTR saw themselves as father figures to Garcia, and Garcia turned his back on them!

So like Cash’s father taught him, sometimes you learn lessons the hard way! Tomorrow night, Thursday Night Collision, here in Detroit, Cash promises Garcia that it’ll hurt them a lot more than it will Garcia… emotionally. The fans boo, but Dax smirks as he says, “Tony… Tell Nigel we’ll see him tomorrow night. Top Guys, out.” FTR leave, but will they survive their Collision with Red Death?

Harley Cameron and Anna Jay talk backstage.

The wild Aussie tells the Queenslayer that tonight, Anna goes into battle and comes out with a title match! Don’t think about anything else! Anna says Harley’s had her fat ass’s back out there, and she’ll have her fat ass again tonight, right? With both hands! Harley has the T, Anna has the A! Tenacity and aggression! Uh, yeah, and the other kind. Those, too! So Toni Storm, Thunder Rosa, Penelope Ford, “Who wants to get choked out!?” YEAH! That was definitely the closing line! Giddy-up! Anna hops onto Harley and they head to gorilla! Will Anna prove she’s the Star of the Show? Or will Dynamite still be Timeless?

AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Fatal 4 Way: Toni Storm VS Penelope Ford VS Thunder Rosa  VS Anna Jay!

The bell rings and Anna goes right at Ford, still wanting to settle scores from the past few weeks! Rosa and Toni stay back a moment, still allied as ThunderStorm/ThunderTits. Ford and Anna go to the outside, and Anna sends Ford into railing! The fans fire up, and now the friendly rivals tie up. Toni headlocks, Rosa powers up and out, but Toni runs her over! Things keep moving, Rosa ducks ‘n’ dodges to tilt-o-whirl RANA! Rosa DROPKICKS Toni, Ford sends Anna into steel steps, and Rosa runs to DROPKICK Toni against ropes! Cover, TWO! Ford gets in there to whip Rosa, but Rosa dodges, arm-drags, and lateral presses! TWO!

Ford is up but Rosa scoops her for a SLAM! Rosa then rallies the fans, runs the ropes, but Ford avoids the splash Rosa belly flops and Ford runs up to wheelbarrow! Victory roll, but Rosa rolls into the ropes! Ford runs to DROPKICK Rosa! Cover, Anna breaks it! Anna pushes Ford into the ropes, stands her up, and ROCKS her! Anna runs up, avoids the shoulder from Ford, and KNEES her in the ropes! And LEG LARIATS, then HOTSHOT NECKBREAKERS! Anna drags Ford to a cover, Toni breaks it! The fans cheer and Toni fires forearms on Anna! Toni ROCKS Anna, reels her in, FISHERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, Ford LOW BLOWS Toni!

The Superbad Girl is naturally the first to use the No Disqualification rules and the fans boo. Toni tumbles out, Ford throws Anna out to join her, and then Ford ASAI MOONSAULTS! Direct hit and the fans fire up, but now Rosa climbs! Ford has Toni & Anna, Rosa SUPER CROSSBODIES onto them all! La Mera Mera wipes out all three weras and the fans are thunderous! Rosa rises again as Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Rosa stomps Anna, drags her up, and SMACKS her off steel steps! Toni stands, she and Rosa call truce, and Rosa drags Ford up while Toni goes for Anna. Ford fires forearms on Rosa, Toni sends Anna into barriers, and Ford CHOPS Rosa. Toni CHOPS Anna! Toni then kicks Ford, CLUBS her down, and Rosa helps out. ThunderStorm mugs Ford, then puts her in the ring. They drag Anna up, scoop for the BACKBREAKER and LEG DROP! Rosa covers but Toni stops her! Toni covers, but Rosa stops her! They argue, Toni kicks low, and then Toni TOSSES Rosa! Toni goes back for Ford, headscissor squeeze!

Ford endures but Rosa returns. Toni apologizes but Rosa grabs her for a headscissor squeeze! Now Toni endures, but Anna is back! Anna grabs Ford’s legs, powers up, and she turns the chain over! Ford endures multiple submissions, but Toni is still stuck between Rosa’s legs! Anna can’t hold on any longer, she lets go and everyone is separated! Anna and Rosa stand to fire forearms while Ford and Toni go to corners. Anna ROCKS Rosa, Rosa ROCKS Anna, and then they both fire up! They both run, and DOUBLE FOREARMS knock them both down! Toni rises, but so does Ford, and now they start trading shots!

Dynamite returns to single picture, the fans cheer Toni and boo Ford. Toni gets the edge and the fans fire up! But Ford takes a swing! Only for Toni to catch her in a GERMAN SUPLEX! Rosa returns to KNEE Toni down! Anna rises but Rosa is on her first! Rosa CHOPS, then whips, but Anna grabs ropes! Anna ELBOWS Rosa back, then BOOTS her! Rosa falls, the fans rally and Anna covers, TWO! Anna snarls, but then Ford yanks Anna down! They brawl on the outside, Anna ROCKS Ford and snap suplexes her to the floor! Anna rises, but she has to duck Rosa’s dropkick! Rosa and Anna brawl outside, and Rosa DDTS Anna to the floor!

The fans fire up and Toni is back. ThunderStorm regroups, but Ford is up top! ARIHARA MOONSAULT!! Ford wipes out the ThunderStorm and the Star, and Detroit cheers because that was legit! Ford puts Anna in, Anna goes away to a corner, and “This is Awesome!” as Ford handsprings in! Anna dodges, then runs up to LEG LARIAT! Toni runs to SPLASH them both! Ford & Anna sit down, Toni keeps moving, and she says kiss this! SWEET HIP MUSIC for two! Then she sets up for Rosa! Rosa runs up, THUNDER IN MOTION DROPKICK! Ford takes the shot, then ThunderStorm reels her in!

Ford fights the suplexes, and here comes Megan Bayne! It was only a matter of time before The Megasus made her presence known. Megan storms into the ring, Rosa runs up, but Megan BOOTS Rosa down! Then she LARIATS Toni! The fans boo as Megan eggs Rosa on. Rosa rises, into the FLYING LARIAT! Megan smirks, but Anna is up! The fans fire up as Anna steps to Megan, but then Megan dodges a shot to fireman’s carry! Anna slips free and fires forearms! The fans fire up, but Ford CLUBS Anna! Anna gest mad and DECKS Ford! But then Megan LARIATS Anna! Megan hauls Anna up, reels her in, and lifts her up, BAYNE BOMB!

BUT HERE COMES HARLEY! And she has a lead pipe! She dodges Megan, LARIATS Megan up and out, abut then Megan drags her out! Harley dodges and JAMS Megan up! And CLUBS her on the back! Harley keeps after Megan with that equalizer and the fans are thunderous! Harley runs Megan off to the back, only for Ford to have Anna in the MUTA LOCK!! But Toni runs up to LOW BLOW Ford in return! The fans fire up as Toni now locks on the T C M!! Ford TAPS, Toni wins!!

Winner: Toni Storm, by submission (denies her opponents a title opportunity)

Toni’s Classic Move gets the job done, and Rosa shows respect with the secret handshake and chest bump. The Timeless AEW Women’s Champion is 12-0, but will she be ready for whoever comes out of Arizona as the Queen of Harts?

CRU appears ringside.

As Dynamite returns from break, Lio Rush & Action Andretti decide they want to watch the show in person.

The Hurt Syndicate is here!

Detroit fires up as Montel Vontavious Porter, Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin make their entrance. The fans sing, “We Hurt~ People!” as MVP & the AEW World Tag Team Champions go to the ring. MVP has the mic and says, “Attention AEW viewing audience. This is an official announcement from the Hurt Syndicate. Standing to my right is the Standard of Excellence, Shelton Benjamin. And to my left is the All Mighty, Bobby Lashley. The Hurt Syndicate are the AEW World Tag Team Champions. But I have a question. This is AEW, right? This is where the best wrestle, right? Well, where are all the best tag teams stepping up to challenge us for the tag team championships?

“Who is gonna take the tag team titles off of these two gentlemen? We like to hurt people, but who’s gonna hurt us? I wanna know! Is there anybody that has what it takes to step up and take the titles from the Hurt-” Wait! Top Flight is here! Darius & Dante Martin have mics, and Darius tells MVP, “Look, look, look, look, look. I’ma be real. Top Flight, we’ve been a little down on our luck lately. Which is exactly why we can’t look at this challenge and not see it as an opportunity. Teams like CRU are afraid to step up because you hurt people.” MVP says, “That’s what we do. Would you like to be next?” CRU talks trash even though they’re several rows back…

Darius says that’s fine, they’ve been hurt before. They get up every single time! MVP respects that. Darius says you’re looking at a team that just won’t die! Hurt Syndicate can try their best. And they know they’re the underdogs. They know no one’s gonna put money on them. But guess what? They have proven before that they can get in the ring with championship caliber teams and hold their own. And Dante knows they can do it again. So Motor City! Y’all wanna see a miracle? The fans are torn, but then MJF CLOBBERS DARIUS! And he DECKS Dante! The fans are torn but the Scumbag is ready to show Lashley how he can hurt people!

MJF rains down fists on Darius, stands him up, and POSTS him! MJF drags Dante up, and Dante’s already a bit busted open. MJF throws hands on Dante to work on that wound, then he storms over and BITES Darius’s face!! The fans chant “We Hurt~ People!” as MJF stands Dante up. MJF tells Lashley to look at the blood! MJF reels Dante in, and hits an APRON POWERBOMB! MJF storms up to the apron, blood staining his tank top, and he steps to Lashley. The fans fire up as MVP hands MJF a mic. “I! HURT! PEOPLE!!” The fans cheer that, but Lashley is stoic. Lashley takes the mic from MJF, then looks to MVP.

The fans again sing, “We Hurt~ People!” Lashley sees what MJF has done, and he smiles. “I’ll have an answer for you next week.” The fans boo, but MJF takes what he can get. Will the All Mighty accept the Devil of AEW into the fold?

The Elite speak.

Nicholas Jackson does not appreciate Excalibur cueing them up, and tells the commentary team to have more enthusiasm when you’re pitching to your Founding Fathers! Matthew says they should all have enthusiasm right now because it is a huge night for The Elite! We have the Rainmaker in singles action! Kazuchika Okada tells Kevin Knight that tonight, Okada makes him a b*tch! And of course, their new trios partner, Ricochet. But Matt has to ask, this match was Ricochet’s idea. Why is Ricochet so eager to team with the #YoungBizzles? Ricochet says he knows The Bucks have a little Swerve problem. And Ricochet has already beaten Swerve twice.

That means Ricochet has Swerve’s number! And Ricochet has already beaten “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Mark Briscoe, and so if they just follow his lead tonight, he promises to take them to victory! The Bucks like the sound of that, and they all fist bump. They tell him they’ll see him out there, and Ricochet says, “See you, Bosses!” Ricochet heads out, The Bucks go to their office, but wait! The Death Riders are there…! Is there something The Bucks can help them with? The Bucks step inside, Marina Shafir closes the door. What business will The Maniac AEW World Heavyweight Champion have with the EVPs?

ROH World Television Championship Mystery Opponent: Nick Wayne w/ The Patriarchy VS ???

Right as The Prodigy is about to take off for Japan and the NJPW Best of the Super Juniors tournament, it would seem the “Sins of the Father” will be visited upon him. Someone from Christian Cage’s past wants after this title, but that’s a long list of enemies. Will Nick be able to pass this new test of his faith? Or will he be flying to Japan with much lighter luggage?

AEW returns and the challenger is revealed: IT’S RHINO!! The fans go wild as the manbeast from Michigan is here! The belt is raised, the bell rings, and Detroit is already fired up as Rhino and Nick circle. The two tie up, Rhino SHOVES Nick down, and the fans fire up! Nick bails out and is already frustrated, but Christian coaches him up. Nick goes back into the ring, circles with Rhino, then dodges. Nick survives and Rhino is annoyed but the fans rally up. Rhino goes to a corner, takes aim, and Nick rises up. Rhino runs up but is sent into buckles! Nick then chicken wings, KILLSWITCH! Cover, NICK WINS!

Winner: Nick Wayne, by pinfall (still ROH World Television Champion)

Rhino had to deal with distractions and Nick comes out on top! Christian snatches the belt from the ref to personally hand it to Nick, but not without “explaining” he was doing this for Nick’s own good. The fans call BS, especially as Christian lingers with the belt. Nick asks for it back, Christian just drops it on the floor! Will Nick’s time in NJPW for the BOSJ be much needed time away from his jealous father?

Rush speaks.

El Toro Blanco tells Kevin Knight, “You cost me $100,000, and now you owe me that money! And you will pay with blood! Just remember: When you mess with the bull… you get the horns!” Rush has put Knight on notice, but will Knight focus more on earning a golden ticket to the Continental Championship?

Six Man Tag: Ricochet & The Young Bucks VS Swerve Strickland, Mark Briscoe & “Speedball” Mike Bailey!

Well, if we’re talking about being “robbed” of $100,000, then The One & Only knows what that is like when he lost that big money 8 Man a few weeks ago. Ricochet has since then avenged himself of that loss, much like he has with Swerve’s House. But will Ricochet & The EVPs make tonight #OuttaThisWorld? Or will The Most Dangerous Man help the Sussex County Chicken & Speedball be like Swerve’s new track and go #OuttaControl?

The trios sort out and fans cheer on “Whose House?” as Swerve steps up against Ricochet. Ricochet taunts Swerve and his team that he’s got their numbers, but then Swerve points out how The Bucks seem to be inching away. Ricochet turns around and sees that, and asks what they’re doing! The Bucks say Ricochet’s got this, right? Ricochet argues with them, they push him back, and Swerve DECKS Ricochet! And then DECKS him again! And again, and again! Swerve kicks low, fires more hands in the corner, then stomps away! The fans fire up, Swerve HAMMERS Ricochet, but the ref counts.

Swerve lets off of Ricochet, then fireman’s carries for a SNAKE EYES! Swerve runs and BOOTS Ricochet down! Swerve scares The Bucks off, then goes back for Ricochet. Tag to Briscoe and then Briscoe tags Bailey. The Bucks are warry of them, too, and then Swerve has Bailey hop up onto his shoulders in a Chair Lift. Then Swerve THROWS Bailey at Ricochet to RANA! Briscoe adds a SLIDING LARIAT! Bailey covers, TWO! Ricochet stays in this, but Bailey SLAPS him on his bald head! The fans fire up for that! Bailey drags Ricochet up, whips, but Ricochet reverses. Bailey grabs ropes, Nick runs up, but Bailey DECKS him!

Ricochet runs up but into an ELBOW! Matt grabs Bailey’s foot, Bailey kicks free, but Ricochet CLOBBERS Bailey from behind! The fans boo but Swerve runs in! Ricochet gets Swerve for a JAWBREAKER! Ricochet then whips Swerve into a DOUBLE GAMANGIRI from The Bucks! Briscoe runs up but Ricochet KNEES him! The Bucks coordinate, ALLEY-OOP DROPKICK! The fans boo more but Ricochet & The Bucks set everyone up at the ropes! DOUBLE SLINGSHOT SENTONS from The Bucks to Swerve and Briscoe, Ricochet KNEE-BOARD SENTONS Bailey! Then The One & Only poses with The Bucks while the fans boo.

But uh, Swerve’s team stands up! The Elite turn around, see punches coming and run away! The fans fire up but Ricochet & The Bucks huddle up. They talk strategy, go to the apron, but then The Bucks leave Ricochet alone like before. Bailey BOOTS Ricochet and he falls onto The Bucks! The Bucks scramble up to their feet, as does Ricochet, but Bailey SUPERKICKS Ricochet! Swerve’s team all take aim, DOUBLE PLANCHA for The Bucks while Bailey ASAI MOONSAULTS onto Ricochet! The fans are thunderous for all this high flying, and Swerve’s team keeps after The Elite with punches. Briscoe even BITES Matt’s forehead!

The ref reprimands, Bailey puts Ricochet in the ring and whips him corner to corner hard! Tag to Briscoe and he winds up. “This is Awesome!” as Briscoe REDNECK KUNG-FU UPPERCUTS! Ricochet wobbles, Bailey adds a CANADIAN TAE KWAN DO UPPERCUT! They’re very similar. Then Bailey & Briscoe DOUBLE UPPERCUT Ricochet down! The fans fire up more, and Briscoe brings Ricochet around, only for Ricochet to TOSS Briscoe out! Nick PENALTY KICKS Briscoe! Swerve runs up, but Ricochet sends him into a shoulder RAM from Nick! Nick then hits a slingshot FACEBUSTER! And a cartwheel MOONSAULT onto Briscoe!

Ricochet hits a GERMAN SUPLEX on Swerve! Matt intercepts Bailey, ROCKS him, then drags him out along the ropes! Nick goes up, DRPAING DOUBLE STOMP SLINGSHOT BOMB COMBO!! Nick ESCALARAS onto Swerve! Ricochet springboard 450 SPLASHES onto Bailey!! Detroit can’t help but be fired up for all this, and Dynamite goes picture in picture!

The Bucks & Ricochet soak up cheers and jeers, then they focus on Briscoe. They double whip him corner to corner, and Nick runs up to LARIAT! Matt adds his own LARIAT, and then Ricochet adds another LARIAT! Ricochet snapmares Briscoe so they can TRIPLE BASEMENT DROPKICK! Ricochet winds it up, and then just like last time, The Bucks lend Ricochet their hair for the photo op. It doesn’t really work as well this time, it just gives Ricochet a big runway and two long curtains on the side… The Bucks then go to the corner and Ricochet whips Briscoe in. Briscoe hits buckles hard then slumps down.

Matt tags in and he stands Briscoe up. Briscoe fires body shots and backs Matt down, but Matt scoops to BACKBREAKER! Nick tags in and adds the LEG DROP! Nick taunts Briscoe’s team, Ricochet taunts the fans, and Nick drags Briscoe back up. Nick scrapes his soles off Briscoe’s face, then stalks him to a corner. Nick CHOKES Briscoe with a boot, stops as the ref counts, and then whips Briscoe corner to corner. Nick runs in and SHINING WIZARDS! Briscoe sits down but Nick stands him up to reel him in. Nick suplexes, Briscoe slips free, and RUSSIAN LEG SWEEPS! Both men are down and the fans rally up!

Briscoe and Nick crawl, but then Matt BLASTS Swerve & Bailey! Nick tags Ricochet and Ricochet stomps away on Briscoe! Ricochet soaks up heat, then stalks Briscoe to a corner. Briscoe CHOPS him first! And CHOPS him again! Ricochet CLAWS Briscoe’s eyes! The ref reprimands, Ricochet stops, only for Ricochet to CHOKE Briscoe on the ropes! The ref counts and Ricochet stops again while Dynamite returns to single picture. The fans rally but Ricochet reels Briscoe in. Briscoe fights the lift, so Ricochet CLUBS him and KNEES him for it! Ricochet talks trash, runs the ropes, but Briscoe ducks ‘n’ dodges!

Ricochet BACKDROPS Briscoe on return but Briscoe lands on his feet! Briscoe reaches out but Ricochet waistlocks! Briscoe breaks free and PELES Ricochet! The fans fire up as Ricochet falls! Both men crawl, hot tags to Bailey and Matt! Detroit fires up as Speedball BOOTS Matt and fires LIGHTNING KICKS on Nick! ENZIGIRI sends Nick down, then a SOBAT rocks Matt! AX KICK and BUZZSAW! The fans fire up as Bailey takes aim, STANDING SHOOTING STAR! Cover, TWO! Matt stays in this but Bailey stays fired up! Bailey brings Matt up, hits a FALCON ARROW into the drop zone, then he goes up the corner!

Nick hurries over to anchor Bailey but Bailey BOOTS him away! Matt bails out, so Bailey FLYING RANAS Nick onto Matt! The fans fire up as The Bucks both fall down! Bailey puts Matt back in, hurries back up, and the fans cheer “A E DUB!” for making this match happen! Bailey is up top, and he ULTIMATE- NO, he has to bail out as Matt moves! Bailey turns around as Matt runs in, but into a SPANISH FLY! Cover, Ricochet breaks it! The fans boo but Swerve storms in! Ricochet ROCKS Swerve, but Swerve BOOTS Ricochet! Both men block a boot, then they see Briscoe and Nick running in! Both men let the other go so they can each go Matrix!

Nick gives Swerve a DESTROYER!! Only for Swerve to go Super Saiyan! HOUSE CALL!! All six men are down and Detroit is electric! Everyone else bails out except Bailey, and he crawls his way to the corner!

The Bucks hurry and they anchor Bailey! Nick then BLASTS Swerve! The Bucks aim at Bailey, but Bailey HEEL KICKS the Superkicks away!! Nick blocks Bailey’s kick, but then Bailey blocks Matt’s kick! Bailey hands Matt’s foot to Nick, Matt goes Matrix to avoid Bailey’s kick! Bailey BOOTS Nick! Then he dodges Matt, hot tag to Swerve! Swerve LARIATS Matt! And UPPERCUTS Nick! Roll and UP KICK for Matt! Then another UPPERCUT for Nick! Swerve snapmares Nick and goes up, FALLING UPPERCUT! Hit that Griddy! Ricochet runs up but Swerve TOSSES him out! More Griddy! HIP TOSS for Matt, then a gator roll!

Swerve suplexes but Nick makes the save! The Bucks reel Swerve in, but Swerve DOUBLE SUPLEXES! Ricochet FLYING- NO! Swerve stops the rana to pop and POWERSLAM! Backstage interview with Will Ospreay.

Renee Paquette is now with The Aerial Assassin to bring up the tag match of Ospreay & Hangman VS Don Callis Family. We saw how tense it was out there earlier tonight, and they’re so close to the Owen Hart Cup finals at Double or Nothing. How will this shake out next week? Ospreay hopes to God that- MJF interrupts… MJF asks “Billy Boy” how he’s doing, but then says it doesn’t matter, he doesn’t really care. MJF just wants to do a shameless plug real quick: Go to ShopAEW.com to get yourself a beautiful replica Dynamite Diamond Ring today! Make him richer while you get poorer! Ospreay asks what MJF even wants.

MJF says, “What I want? Will, what is up with all this hostility, my man? I’m a fan. I came over here simply to tell you I hope you win this whole entire Owen Hart Cup tournament. Truly. And do you wanna know why? I know you’re a little bit slow, so I’ll explain the whole thought process to ya. I want you to go to All In: Texas, and I want you to win my AEW World Championship. So that way, when I wrestle you, I’m gonna get another easy dub. Taking the belt off you will be like taking candy from a lil’ Bri’ish baby.” Ospreay says, “Aww. That’s adorable, mate. Thank you so much. But if it was gonna be that easy, why weren’t you in the Owen Hart Tournament?”

Ospreay says MJF can work hard, right? And he could’ve easily talked with Tony Khan. MJF is in TK’s pocket, right? Oh, right, it’s maybe because there’s some little bit of fear that stepping into the ring with Ospreay again will go down like it did last time: Ospreay picking MJF up, dumping him on his head, and losing power in his arms. MJF chuckles and says okay. Understand something. Ospreay is clearly the reason there are instructions on shampoo bottles. MJF will explain this: MJF hopes they do wrestle again. Because if they do, Ospreay finds out yet again that ain’t nobody on the level of the Devil!

MJF turns to leave, but Ospreay yanks him back in! Ospreay says that’s where MJF is wrong. Ospreay IS on that level, because he is on another level! The Assassin puts the Scumbag on notice, then apologizes to Renee. Will we see MJF and Ospreay go another round somewhere down the line? Or will Hangman throw a wrench into both of their plans?

Sit-down interview with Jamie Hayter.

Dynamite returns as Renee is now with one half of the Women’s Owen Hart Cup Finals. Renee says we’re just two-and-a-half weeks away from Double or Nothing, Hayter VS Mone in that tournament finals. The winner then goes on to All In: Texas for a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship. Renee wants Hayter talk about what this opportunity means to her. Hayter says what this means to her surely means more than what it does to Mercedes, that’s for true. Mone was talking with Renee last week about “Scooby-Doo characters” and her legacy. Pfft! Utter nonsense. Hayter will be damned if Owen Hart’s legacy is represented by Mercedes Mone.

Mone is virtually the antithesis of what Owen stood for! Hayter doesn’t even care about all that, though, because she wants to get to know the real Mercedes Mone. The woman behind the hype. Not the catchphrases, not the brand, not the cheap, egotistical, obnoxious woman that we know today. Renee says regardless of personal feels for Mone, there is no denying what Mone has accomplished throughout her career. Renee notes her talk last week, Mone said Hayter reminded her a lot of Mone. Hayter stifles a laugh and says that’s an insult. They’re not anything alike! Hayter doesn’t claim to be the best or worst, she’s not claiming to be this or that.

Hayter simply reciprocates actions and energy. Mone runs away like she owes Hayter money! Hayter doesn’t have Mone’s resumé, her accolades, her match catalogue or her “star power.” But what Hayter has is integrity, grit, truth, and more of a reason to hurt Mone! This isn’t even about gold or glory now. This is about showing Mone that she is NOT untouchable. Mone cannot just walk around here, do what she wants, say what she wants, like she’s the second coming. Renee does bring up Hayter’s time away with her back injury. Hayter says there’s no need to talk about that. It is irrelevant. She is fine, good to go.

The point is, Mone is looking past Hayter, and that is fine. But then Mone rushes in and attacks! Hayter is ready, and Hayter chases Mone down the hall! So far, it’s going how Hayter said! But will it be that easy for Hayter to punch her ticket to Texas? Or will The CEO find a way to get ahead?

Wait, wait, wait, they’re coming out to ringside! They’re brawling in the special box seats! Hayter CHOKES Mone, but Mone slips away, and safely to the floor! Mone keeps running, Hayter pursues, and they brawl again! Mone still tries to flee, and she KICKS Hayter away! Mone goes to the stage, Hayter pursues, and then Hayter blocks a haymaker! Mone dodges the Hayterade and runs away into the night! Hayter says there she goes, running away again. Hayter stands by the cup, but Mone returns to CLOBBER her! The fans boo as Mone puts on the STATEMENT MAKER!! Mone shouts Hayter will NEVER have what she has!!

Refs rush out here to stop Mone, but Mone only stops once she’s pulled Hayter way back! The fans boo as The CEO now stands by the cup. Will nothing stop the Money Train from railroading Hayter?

Backstage interview with Willow Nightingale.

Alicia Atout is with the Babe with the Power and says the last few months for her have been really busy. It includes some great success, even in Japan. But here in AEW, it seems Willow still has a lot to settle with the Death Riders. Willow says yeah, she does. And luckily, she isn’t alone. The list of people who wanna end the Death Riders just keeps getting longer and longer, and Willow can appreciate that. But she also wants to be the first one to just shove her fist into Marina’s face! A hand reaches out, Willow gets spooked, but it’s Kris Statlander! Kris tells Willow that if Willow doesn’t wanna talk in the back, then they’ll have to have it out on camera.

Willow says she doesn’t think there’s anything that needs to be said. She heard Kris, she gets where Kris is at, and she gets Kris was sorry. So like, what? Kris is now disappointed she lost in The Owen? Last year, Willow could’ve won The Owen, and it’s all because of Kris. Kris doesn’t want Willow going there, but Willow says this conversation is over anyway. Kris goes to leave but then Willow reconsiders. She says if Kris wants to meet in the middle of the ring… Then how about tomorrow night, Thursday Night Collision, here in Detroit, Willow knows a whole bunch of sickos would love to see it! So what does Kris say?

Willow offers a handshake, Kris accepts the handshake, and Kris says if there’s nothing more to be said, then see her there. Kris does leave, and Willow smiles. Will these former besties get out all the tension between them when they go 1v1 on Collision?

Knight runs in but Okada puts him up top! Okada DROPKICKS Knight down to the apron and then Knight falls to the floor! The ref checks Knight but Knight refuses to let this stop the match. Okada goes out after Knight, brings him up, and RAMS him into the railing! Okada laughs at the fans, especially a little girl in the second row. Okada drags Knight up, RAMS him into the railing again, and then laughs at the little girl again! The little girl gets upset and hides behind her mom while Okada goes back to the ring. Okada waits as the ring count climbs. Knight crawls towards ringside at 5 of 10, drags himself up at 7, and rolls in at 8. Okada is right on Knight with a turn and NECKBREAKER! Okada lets Knight writhe a bit before standing over him.

The Don Callis Family speaks.

Don Callis himself says, “The Outrunners tried to challenge RPG Vice? Who do you two idiots think you are? Y’know, I was wrestling in the ’80s, I knew a lot of dirtbags like you! So why don’t you get yourselves a couple of other stupid idiots to be your partner, and you can take on the Don Callis Family, and I will kick your ass all the way back to Tennessee like it’s 1983!!” Wait, did he say he will? Well, will Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd find someone willing to take on

BREAKING NEWS for Collision!

It has been decided that Dax Harwood will take on Daniel Garcia in response to his challenge last week. Will Dax the Ax make good on FTR’s word to make this one hurt? Plus, after the confrontation we saw between them, Bailey will take on Dralistico as payback for what LFI did to Knight! Will Speedball strike out the Prince of Silver? And speaking of baseball terminology, the 5 Tool Player is about to throw some heaters at “Big Shotty” Lee Johnson for stepping to the plate last week. Will Bowens make sure to #MollyWhopp Lee back to the dugout?

Can’t he just let us know now where things stand now? Lashley says he is very protective of the Syndicate, but apparent legal counsel advises him to say no more. The answer will be made public next week. MVP introduces longtime legal counsel to the Hurt Syndicate, Harrison Landow. And well, when he speaks, they listen. See you next week. The Syndicate heads out, but will MJF’s attack on Top Flight have been in vain?

Samoa Joe VS Claudio Castagnoli!

The Samoan Submission Specialist and The Opps have been putting The Death Riders on the defensive, and Joe himself has accused Jon Moxley of no longer having the guts to fight a real fight. Moxley took offense to that remark last week, but he will still let his Swiss Cyborg handle things first. Will Claudio soften Joe up for Moxley and that Steel Cage title match? Or will Joe prove it is the Death Riders who are soft?

Winner: Samoa Joe, by submission

The Swiss Cyborg got caught, but here comes reinforcements! Joe dares the Death Riders to make a move, so Wheeler Yuta jumps the barriers! Marina and Moxley follow, they’re flanking the ring! But WILL HOBBS is here! And the Powerhouse is armed with a chair! The fans fire up as The Opps have the numbers and the “MEAT! MEAT! MEAT!” Moxley backs away, but Hobbs tells him, “Watch this!” Claudio stands up, into a CHAIR SHOT! Claudio falls and the fans want “One More Time!” Joe says okay, and Hobbs SMACKS Claudio again! Moxley seethes but he is still standing at the barriers.

Joe sets the chair down, drags Claudio over, and Joe gives Moxley one more chance to do something. Moxley doesn’t move, so Joe hits a FULL METAL GOURD BUSTER!! Joe avenges Hook and Shibata, but will Joe save all of AEW from Moxley’s reign of terror? Or will The Maniac find a way to survive Beach Break in the Windy City?

My Thoughts:

A great episode of Dynamite here, but not without odd choices. CRU continue to be chihuahuas barking at bigger dogs, and then oddly enough, Top Flight kinda do the same thinking they’ll get at Hurt Syndicate for the titles. MJF going after them to “hurt people” made for a fitting move in that moment, but then Lashley making us wait and them bringing in some lawyer for the Syndicate is disappointing. Are they really dragging this out for Double or Nothing? Why not give us the “moment of truth” tonight, then next week has some sort of official “swearing in,” and then we get shenanigans that give us a Double or Nothing match. I feel like TK’s sense of pacing continues to be a problem…

Good promo from FTR and Stokely to call out Schiavone & Nigel as well as Garcia, and Dax VS Garcia will be great stuff. I still sense Adam Copeland returns to join Garcia and settle things with FTR. Good promo from Willow to call out Marina and the Death Riders, and I like the segue back into the Willow-Kris story. They’ll have a great match tomorrow, but I don’t know what’ll happen with it if Willow is to also still feud with Marina. Unless newly released Shayna Baszler shows up to team with Marina, Kris & Willow getting on the same page doesn’t seem likely. Side note, Shayna and Marina should be part of the ROH Women’s Pure Championship tournament.

Great promo from Hangman and Ospreay to open the show, looking back on continuity and even getting a bit meta with the “main character of AEW” stuff thrown around. But of course The Don Callis Family wants after them and all their other enemies. Konosuke & Alexander VS Ospreay & Hangman will be awesome stuff for next week, but I feel like Alexander takes the loss so Ospreay and Hangman both head for Double or Nothing with momentum. Then with Roppongi Vice and I assume Lance Archer facing The Outrunners, I feel like my idea of Brody King teaming with Truth & Turbo is going to become a reality. It just makes sense given Brody had that brawl with Archer last week.

Great promo from Harley and Anna before the Fatal 4, and then a great Fatal 4 match. Ford was a touch off on those pinfall breaks but that was a minor thing. Naturally, Megan got involved, which cued Harley to do the same, and clearly we’ll get Megan & Ford VS Harley & Anna in a great tag match. Toni winning out is fine, but it just seems odd they did this at all. I still hope Athena steps up so we can have Champion VS Champion at Double or Nothing to go double or nothing on titles. And then with how Hayter VS Mone is going, there’s still a chance we can go all in at All In with Mone putting up at least the TBS title against both the AEW & ROH Women’s titles.

But given the great interview promo from Hayter and the obvious ambush from Mone, there’s also still a chance Hayter VS Storm happens as a rematch from long ago. Then Mone and Athena can still go title for title in Texas as TBS Championship VS ROH Women’s World Championship. Very good stuff with that open challenge for the ROH World TV title, and it was great for Rhino to be in his hometown. But naturally, whoever was showing up would be cheated out of the win. Nick Wayne is going to bring that title with him to Japan, I just wonder if he’s bringing The Patriarchy with him. At the very least, Christian should keep AEW viewers up to date with every little win or loss Nick has in the BOSJ like the overbearing and jealous father he is.

Great promo from The Elite & Ricochet to hype up their matches, and what an intriguing move to have The Death Riders meet The Bucks in their office. Though, they didn’t light the scene very well, I only knew it was The Death Riders from Claudio’s bald head and white shirt. And then of course when it was Marina closing the door. But we got an awesome Six Man Tag of Ricochet & Bucks VS Swerve, Briscoe & Bailey. Rather surprising win for the Heels but I suppose that ups the animosity between The Elite and Swerve. Also, good promo from Rush followed by a pretty good ambush on Knight. Okada VS Knight was a great match but I figured Okada would win. Bailey is clearly going to get an eliminator next, and that’ll be awesome, too.

And of course, a great main event of Joe VS Claudio. Great win for Joe, and naturally the Death Riders would rush out there. Great counter with Hobbs showing up, and it works that The Opps “take out” Claudio. With Pac out from an actual injury and then Hook and Shibata kayfabe sidelined from what Death Riders did to them, things are a bit more even now. But even then, Yuta & Marina can still interfere, Hobbs & Willow can still counter, only for Moxley to still somehow win against Joe because I don’t think Beach Break is where a title change this big is going to happen. It still feels like Double or Nothing gives us Anarchy in the Arena 2025, Death Riders making a deal with The Elite to take on The Opps, Swerve, and Kenny Omega, who was conspicuous by his absence tonight.

My Score: 8.8/10
