MMA Rules Cage Fight: Jake Hager w/ Chris Jericho VS Wardlow w/ Shawn Spears!

It’s TIIIIIIIIIME! The Inner Circle’s #RockHard and the Pinnacle’s War Dog are going to compete like it’s Bellator! Hager is undefeated in MMA fights, but will Mr. Mayhem prove he’s AEW’s Mr. Steel Cage?

The AEW crew checks both men and they’re clean and ready. Wardlow isn’t even facing Hager as the explanation of the rules are given. This will be a maximum of three five-minute rounds. There are no judges, no ropebreaks and no pinfalls, so the only ways to win are submission, knockout, or referee stoppage, aka technical knockout. Aubrey Edwards steps up as referee for this match and the introductions are made. Now Wardlow faces Hager, Aubrey tells them to keep this clean and touch gloves if they want. They don’t, and get set as the fans fire up. The bell rings and we have round one!

Hager and Wardlow circle, approach and feel things out. Hager stays out of Wardlow’s reach but then tries his own jabs. Wardlow shows kick but Hager is ready. Hager tries a combo, Wardlow deflects and avoids them all. They keep circling, the tension is building, but neither man has landed something. Fans fire up more and Hager tries to shoot in! Hager goes for a leg, Wardlow blocks and they end up on steel. The ref tells them to let off and Wardlow backs off. Fans cheer the stand off as the two try again. Hager puts up his dukes, and JABS right through Wardlow’s guard! Hager walks off, too, so Wardlow can’t get at him. Wardlow and Hager both grin and they circle again.

Hager gets through to body shot but Wardlow stays up. Hager kicks a leg and Wardlow shakes it off. They keep circling, Hager gets another kick then shoots in to put Wardlow against steel! Wardlow TOSSES Hager away and then flexes on him! Hager shrugs that off and they go again. Hager takes Wardlow down but lets off, just to taunt him! Wardlow gets up and snarls as they circle again. Wardlow throws hands but Hager gets another takedown! He stays on Wardlow this time with hammer fists but Wardlow kicks him away! Wardlow gets up in a huff but he still circles with Hager. Hager uses another kick just to keep Wardlow on his toes.

Hager kicks again but Wardlow blocks it! Wardlow DECKS Hager! And then rushes him at the steel for fast hands! Wardlow gets Hager up for a SPINEBUSTER! Wardlow tries ground ‘n’ pound but Hager gets away and to his feet! We’re under a minute but Hager doesn’t sweat it. Hager and Wardlow reset, Wardlow blocks as Hager throws hands! Wardlow tries to hit back but Hager keeps the offense! Wardlow gets a shot in and has Hager staggering! Wardlow shoves, uses the steel, SUPERMAN PUNCH! Hager staggers up and Wardlow chases him! We’re at 20 seconds as Wardlow keeps Hager off balance! Ten seconds, Hager guards but Wardlow isn’t letting up! Time’s up on round one!

Round 1 over

Hager survives and may have underestimated Wardlow. Cornermen Spears and Jericho get in to help out, but it’s mostly Hager who needs to refresher. Spears keeps Wardlow fired up and we’re on to round two!

Hager tells Aubrey he’s fine, but Wardlow runs in! Hager dodges, Wardlow only hits steel, but Hager is still wary of his right side. Wardlow kicks, Hager dodges and waistlocks. Wardlow wrenches to a wristlock takedown! Wardlow wants a mount but Hager gets to the steel. Wardlow throws hands in the gaps and fans boo but Hager can only guard! Aubrey watches closely as Wardlow wants an arm! Hager blocks the armbar, the grip breaks a moment but Hager uses his wrestling background to get around! Hager throws elbows into Wardlow’s ribs! Wardlow hammers free, tries more ground ‘n’ pound but Hager fights to get an ANKLE LOCK! Wardlow endures as he can’t get a ropebreak to stop this! Hager turns it into a HEAD ‘N’ ARM TRIANGLE!! Wardlow is caught in the katagatami, grabs steel but that won’t do anything!

Wardlow fights his way up to stand on his feet, and he slips through to fireman’s carry! Hager elbows free, gets Wardlow up, URENAGE into the KATAGATAMI!! Wardlow is caught this time, with no steel to use as leverage! We’re under a minute, but Wardlow flips Hager off before he passes out!! Hager wins!!

Winner: Jake Hager, by referee stoppage

STILL undefeated in MMA battles, Hager has tied the overall series up! But if Wardlow won as a wrestler and Hager won as a fighter, what will it take to settle this?

Hager and Wardlow stand off, and it seems as if the two titans have gained each other’s respect. But Spears shows no respect as he CLOBBERS Hager from behind! Jericho goes after Spears, so Wardlow goes after Jericho! The Pinnacle mugs Jericho 2v1 but he fights them off! Jericho throws hands on Wardlow but Spears gets back up, only for Hager to get him with knees! MJF runs in and tips the scales back towards the Pinnacle as he DECKS Jericho! MJF wants to hit Malenko but he’s an AEW official and is untouchable.

But MJF STILL Decks him!? MJF shows no respect for a legend or a man dealing with health issues! But here comes Sammy Guevara!! The Spanish God leaps up the cage to DECK Spears and run off MJF! MJF retreats like the chicken he is, but Wardlow is also his bodyguard! Will Sammy tear down the Pinnacle all by himself if he has to?

AEW hears from Frankie Kazarian, Eddie Kingston & Penta El Zero M!

The Heavy Metal Rebel tells Matt Jackson & the Good Brothers, “It’s more like the Righteous and the Wicked, is it not? Matt, my oh so devout friend, it’s Romans 12:19 that tells us, ‘Do not seek revenge but to leave room for the wrath of God. It is mine to avenge, I will repay, says the Lord.” But Kaz doesn’t always agree with the Lord because tonight, vengeance is all his! And as for Gallows & Anderson, they don’t have to worry about that because they’re not righteous men but miscreants! They lack moral fiber, but that’s fine because Kaz isn’t righteous, either. Kaz is a man hungry for revenge and thirsty for retribution. Kaz is a man done being decent in these indecent times. Kaz is a man who will leave them all laying in a puddle of their own despair.

Kingston steps up to say, “Boys! Pray to your God and hopes he takes your soul. Because your asses are ours!” And Penta adds, “Because you know what? Cero… Miedo…!” Will these #EliteHunters catch their prey and make them pay?

Team Taz speaks.

Taz himself says it is pretty well documented that there are issues amongst the group. He wanted to air it out here and is telling Ricky Starks that he loves him, and knows he is a vital part to what they have going on, but this thing with him and Brian Cage needs to end and needs to end soon. Starks wants to say something but Will Hobbs has him stop right there. Cut the crap, Starks. They left Hobbs hanging but they’re supposed to be a team. Where’s the team unity, Taz? Taz agrees with Hobbs, he was left in a 2v1 situation. That’s why what happened happened.

And speaking of which, Taz tells Hangman Page, for next week’s special Saturday Night Dynamite, Hangman won’t have it so easy with Preston Vance helping him get a 2v1 win. How about a 1v1 win with Hobbs? Hangman’s a top guy in this company, but so is Hobbs! The challenge has been issued, but will Hangman be able to overcome it?

2v1 Handicap Match: Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky VS Darby Allin!

The Men of the Year, as they call themselves, wanted the Relentless One to find someone not named Sting to help him. Instead, even they were surprised that Darby wants to do this alone! Will that mean Darby alone takes the loss on this one? Or will he rub their egos in their faces?

Fans are thunderous for Darby as both he and Ethan slowly rise. Ethan crawls over, Darby goes to his corner, hot tag to Scorpio!

Scorpio takes his time, though, as Darby has no one. Darby “tags” himself, and then goes up and over Scorpio to BLAST Ethan! Darby BOOTS Scorpio, jumps up and over and SHOTGUNS! Then CODE RED! Cover, but Ethan breaks it! Ethan SLAMS Darby right down, argues with the ref, and then Scorpio argues with the ref. But Darby has a zip tie?! And he ties up Ethan’s feet! Darby throws Ethan out, gets around Scorpio to schoolboy, TWO!! La Magistrol, TWO!! Ethan fiddles with the zip tie as Darby hits the THROWBACK STUNNER!! Darby hurries up top, COFFIN DROP!! Cover, Ethan YANKS Darby out of the ring! Darby should’ve remembered Ethan’s arms were still free!

Ethan gets a toolbox, finds wire cutters, and uses those to cut the zip tie off. Ethan storms over to Darby, drags him back up, and then POSTS him! Fans boo as Ethan drags Darby back up and into the ring. Fans rally as hard as they can for Darby but Scorpio tags Ethan back in. Ethan looms over Darby now, drags him back up and puts him in a corner. Ethan hoists Darby up top, climbs up to join him, but Darby resists the superplex! Darby grabs an arm to BITE the hand! Darby HEADBUTTS Ethan down, adjusts position, but Scorpio trips him up! Ethan gets Darby off the corner for the EGO’S EDGE!! Cover, the Men of the Year win!

Winners: Scorpio Sky & Ethan Page, by pinfall

It sadly seemed inevitable, as Darby fought them both alone! Will this only boost the egos of these two narcissists?

Orange Cassidy w/ Best Friends VS Cezar Bononi w/ The Wingmen!

The fashion sense of Freshly Squeezed doesn’t seem to sit well with “Pretty” Peter Avalon, “Hollywood Hunk” Ryan Nemeth, “Blue Collar Badass” JD Drake, and least of all, the “Beautiful Brazilian Beefcake.” But will Cassidy use one match to show all four Wingmen that you look your best when you’re being yourself?

Fans boo more as Bononi mockingly puts his hands in his waistband. And wait! The Wingmen are giving Cassidy a makeover without his consent! Hair gel and spray tan?!

Nemeth gets Cassidy back into the ring for Bononi and says they can get his back later. Cassidy gets away from Bononi to run, but into Bononi’s arms! Bononi tosses them BOOTS Cassidy down! Bononi kicks Cassidy back out and now Avalon starts styling Cassidy’s hair. Nemeth puts his Hollywood Hunk tux onto Cassidy! They put Cassidy back in again and the ref reprimands the Wingmen for doing this stuff! Bononi throws body shots, whips Cassidy corner to corner, but Cassidy goes up and out and slingshots back in to go for Bononi’s leg! Bononi stays up, Cassidy shifts to a waistlock and shoves Bononi. The AEW World Championship showdown between JB and Kenny Omega is just one week away. But here comes a golf cart honking in. “Champion coming through!” Omega, with Michael Nakazawa and Don Callis, interrupt the interview. Is JB confused or star struck? The Champion isn’t wearing a nice suit, a nice ring or even the belt, and JB must be wondering why. Here’s why. Last week, JB butt in to Omega’s business and embarrassed him. Alex Marvez interview the Hardy Family Office.

Marvez asks Big Money Matt about his history with Christian Cage, and how the issues have escalated after Double or Nothing. Christian was retired from injuries for seven years, and made this miraculous comeback, a very happy ending. But if Christian keeps going for-

AEW hears from Lance Archer & Jake the Snake.

The Snake says, “When you’re this far away in wrestling, you might as well be 10 thousand miles away.” They had to fight their way back to where all the forbidden doors had been kicked open, and where all the great prizes lied. Jake has had to reconnect with Archer because to tell the truth, Archer has no patients. Sometimes, you have to lie in wait like a tiger. Then you can pounce. Archer doesn’t like doing that. Jake has no choice now. What is he to do? Bitch slap Archer and tell him to stop? Archer shouts and it even startles Jake, and it’s time to go. Will the Murderhawk Monster tear into everyone in his path when he returns to Dynamite?

Jim Ross has a sit-down interview with Andrade El Idolo.

“Andrade the Idol,” or simply El Idolo, is a true superstar. You can’t go anywhere in the world without finding someone who knows this man. But then the question is, why AEW and why now? For many reasons. Here, there are many talents, many stars, but Andrade is a superstar. The world of pro-wrestling knows that AEW has two of the greatest titles in the world, and they’re still brand new: the AEW World Championship and AEW TNT Championship. These are hot commodities worth lots of money. And JR doesn’t want to sound old or stupid, but those have to be on Andrade’s radar.

Andrade says that this is his next goal: “I want- No, I deserve opportunities for the TNT title and the AEW World title. It’s my next step.” JR says it was an amazing surprise, as Dynamite usually has, that Andrade was presented by Vickie Guerrero, someone who JR has known for a long time. Why did he have Vickie introduce him? “Many things. She understands the business, she is very smart. I’m a third generation wrestler. She came up with Eddie Guerrero. She knows his family, which is full of even more wrestlers. The same holds true for my family. This is why we have a great connection.” But, just wait, because Vickie and Andrade have another surprise. What is this that El Idolo is hinting towards?

Alex Marvez interviews Hangman Page and the Dark Order.

Marvez of course asks Hangman about Taz’s challenge to face Hobbs 1v1. What is his answer? Well, Hobbs almost beat Number 10 and Hangman by himself, so the answer is yes, Hangman accepts! But right now, Hangman has his good friends and ice cold beer, that’s all he cares about right now. Something else to know for Saturday Night Dynamite is that it will be Kenny Omega VS Jungle Boy for THE AEW World Championship. As the current #2 ranked contender, this really affects him, too. Well yes, but while Hangman is still in a good mood, he wants to bring up John Silver is almost healed! He’ll be back in action really soon!

And also, Vance wont he main event on last week’s Dynamite! Alan Angels has a new jacket and it looks alright. Evil Uno… Oh, well, he lost against Miro in a match for the TNT Championship, but gave the performance of a lifetime! And Uno is a champion to them. So on behalf of the Dark Order, here’s to Evil Uno! Vance and Reynolds get Uno up on their shoulders and everyone cheers! “Uno! Uno! Uno!” Will it only be a matter of time before everyone in the group has something to celebrate?

Julia Hart w/ Varsity Blonds VS Penelope Ford!

The two-time national cheerleading champion has been gaining experience and momentum standing alongside the Ivy League MVP and Bulletproof BPJ. But the Superbad Girl is back! She may not have her Superbad Husband with her, but can she win this one for Kip?

Ford kicks Julia around, looms over her, and then rains down right hands! The Varsity Blonds coach Julia but Ford keeps on her as AEW goes to break.

Ford blocks the kick to SLAP Julia! Ford fireman’s carries, and hits a GUT BUSTER DROP!

Ford grins as she drags Julia to a drop zone. Ford climbs up, smiles again as everyone rallies for Julia, and MOONSAULTS but flops! Fans cheer as Julia gets up and builds speed, does the splits but Ford avoids the leg drop! Ford gets the legs and ties them up, for a SUPERBAD MUDA LOCK! Julia endures, reaches, but can’t get any ground! Julia taps, Ford wins!

Winner: Penelope Ford, by submission

Ford makes Julia suffer in the hold, and even has her pass out! The Varsity Blonds get Ford to stop, but Ford just grins as she gets space. But then MIRO comes out!? The Best Man asks Ford about Kip Sabian’s whereabouts. We all know Kip is injured, because of what Miro did to him, but he knows Kip can’t be far. Plus, she’s a little outnumbered so he’s evening the odds. The UNDEFEATED TNT Champion, “God’s Favorite,” is here. Don’t the Varsity Blonds know what Ford’s been through? Her wedding was ruined, her husband got injured. What kind of man would Miro be if he let this slide? And then Miro CLOBBERS Griff Garrison!

Referees rush out as Miro tosses Griff out, but BPJ SPRINGBOARD FOREARMS! BPJ fires off on Miro but Miro goes after BPJ! The refs try to stop this but fans want to “Let Them Fight!” Ford ignores Miro’s crazy talk and takes her leave while Miro and BPJ brawl more! Will this madness turn into a match down the line?

Tony Schiavone interviews Britt Baker and Rebel.

One of Schiavone’s favorite parts of Dynamite is talking with his good friend, the AEW Women’s World Champion, The Dentist. But then Vickie Guerrero comes literally sniffing around, and says all she smells is rotten onions and stale sauce. But whatever. Vickie tells Britt that the only thing she’s proven since winning that title is that Britt’s happy place is eating burgers. That’s fine and all but Vickie is not happy! Vickie wants that title around the waist of her client, Nyla Rose. Oh? If they want this belt, then let’s just give it over cuz Vickie wants it~! No, Vickie is willing to have a match made.

Uh, Vickie, they ain’t playing games, and sure as hell ain’t playing Old Maid. Vickie, go on now, they’re in the middle of an interview. “Excuse me, sweetheart, may I remind you that I am the one that brought in Andrade El Idolo to AEW?” So? And Tony Khan owes her a favor for that. And so by his approval, Vickie has made this match: Britt and Rebel VS Nyla and Vickie! See you later, sweetie! The Dentist and her assistant laugh at the idea of Nyla and Vickie taking them on in a match. Britt cuts the interview short here, that was good enough. But it is happening! Dynamite’s return to Wednesdays will see Britt and Rebel take on the Vicious Vixens on June 30th! Will Britt and Rebel be laughing then when they have to take on the top ranked contender?

MORE matches for Dynamite on June 30th!

Also on the return to Wednesday, it will be Miro VS Brian Pillman Jr. for the TNT Championship! Will Bulletproof BPJ be the first and biggest loss on the Best Man’s AEW record? Plus, after the confrontation after tonight’s MMA Rules Cage Fight, MJF and Sammy Guevara will go 1v1 for the first time ever! Will Maxwell Jacob Friedman pay for what he did to Malenko soon enough?

Plus, Saturday Dynamite WILL have Hangman VS Hobbs! Will the Anxious Millennial Cowboy use the Powerhouse as a major step towards becoming #1 contender?

AEW takes a look at the growing feud of FTR VS Santana & Ortiz!

Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler are “two hardnosed Carolina boys.” Proud ‘n’ Powerful are “two kids from New York City with the balls to chase their dreams.” All four men have had to sweat and bleed for everything they’ve ever gotten in life. Struggled, scratched, clawed, and now they are two of, if not the two best, tag teams in the world. But while there are so many differences, there are so many similarities. FTR may think they’re like PNP, but Carolina ain’t New York. But PNP aren’t the only ones to come “from the wrong side of the tracks.” Did Santana & Ortiz ever have to live without running water? Cash doubts it. Live out of their cars? Doubt it. Live in a house with plastic walls? Doubt it.

Santana says he witnessed his mom be abused in every shape and form. That caused him to turn to the streets. Robbing, stealing, gangs, shootouts. Santana wasn’t even sure he was going to see the age of 25, real talk. And when they made their debuts, that was all the validation they needed this was all worth it. But Dax & Cash say that they spend cash on fancy denim or thousand dollar suits because they earned that. PNP climbed out of where they started, too, but somewhere along the way, they lost their edge. FTR had accomplished more in six months than PNP did in two years. What does that say about their drive?

Ortiz says the titles ain’t going nowhere. Let other people fight for those. PNP has been carrying AEW so that “boys like you could have options.” FTR says that when they look in the eyes of PNP, they see shame, embarrassment. Santana bets they would never step to his face and tell him that. You must be out your mind! FTR says they have had the best rookie year, and when they beat PNP, that’s just another notch on their legacy. Win or lose, PNP says FTR will remember them. FTR says they will beat PNP until they say, “Thank you, sirs.” Then, you’ll be FTR fans for life. Who backs up all their talk when these two finally have it out in the middle of the ring?

AEW hears from Mark Sterling and Jade Cargill.

As “Smart Mark” knew, the Monetization Plan is going great! They are here and thrilled to announce their partnership with a hotel line. A luxury hotel, at that! The Toronto Four Seasons has joined the Jade Cargill brand. It can be where her opponents stay after she knocks them out. And they’re accepting all brands- No, not all. Only the elite. Jade is a walking billboard, so companies should be elated to be working with her. And of course they are! Mark even has a great discount code you can use! Go ahead and tell ’em, Jade! #ThatBitch! YES! Rolls right off the tongue.

But of course, the focus is on pro-wrestling. Jade is still undefeated, and you can catch her on all programming, from Dynamite, Dark: Elevation, and Rampage when it debuts on August 13th! She’ll continue her win streak, because she’s #ThatBitch! Will Jade be swimming in money from now until the end of time?

Six Man Tag: Eddie Kingston, Frankie Kazarian & Penta El Zero M VS Matt Jackson & The Good Brothers!

The Mad King, the Heavy Metal Rebel and the Man with No Fear make quite the eclectic trio, but they have a common enemy in the Elite! Will they get vengeance for Jon Moxley, Rey Fenix, PAC and SoCal Uncensored all in one match? Or will it only take Karl Anderson, Doc Gallows and one Buck to take on this makeshift trio?

Callis joins commentary and tells the others to stop burying his guys. The trios sort out, Kaz rushes Anderson! He fires off hands on Machine Gun and has him against ropes. Anderson gets away to a corner but Kaz is right after him! Kaz whips Anderson to ropes but Anderson blocks the hip toss. Anderson swings on Kaz but Kaz ducks it to waistlock and O’Conner Roll! TWO, Kaz comes back to back kick, front kick and LARIAT Anderson down! Fans fire up as Kaz stares Matt down. Kaz drags Anderson up and bumps him off the boots of Kingston and Penta! Tag to Penta and he swaggers up to KICK Anderson’s leg! But Anderson rakes Penta’s eyes!

Tag to Matt and he stomps Penta down! Matt and Anderson double whip but Penta KICKS Matt then SUPERKICKS Anderson! Penta SLINGBLADES Matt, then SLINGBLADES Anderson right back down! Fans fire up with Joker Penta as he gets Matt up and KICKS him! Tag to Kingston, they double whip Mat and drop toehold for the Camel Clutch and PENALTY KICK! Fans fire up and Callis protests as Kingston headbutts Matt. Kingston bumps Matt off buckles, then bounces him off buckles on the far side! Matt swings punches as he staggers around in a daze, and Kingston CHOPS him! Kingston whips Matt to ropes, but Matt ducks the Uraken to tag out to Gallows!

Big Doc Gallows swings on Kingston, Kingston ducks but Anderson gets a cheap shot in! Kingston DECKS him for it! Kingston dodges Doc again and RAMS shoulders, but Gallows stays up! Kingston keeps moving, rams him again, and then hops up a corner. Kingston leaps for a FLYING shoulder! Matt barks at Kingston but Kingston shoves him down! Matt bounces off the apron but Anderson drags Kingston out for haymakers and uppercuts! Kingston pokes Anderson in the eyes! Turnabout’s fair play! Kingston BITES Anderson’s ear! Meanwhile, Kaz and Penta go after Matt and Gallows by the timekeeper’s area! IT’S A MADHOUSE!

Matt CLAWS Kaz but Kaz CHOPS back! Gallows CLUBS Kaz, Penta goes after Matt. Penta KICKS Matt in the leg, Kingston throws Anderson into railing then backs Penta up. Kingston throws hands on Matt, Matt pokes eyes and Gallows uppercuts! Matt goes up the steps to LEAP and ax handle Kingston down! Matt throws hands while Penta CHOPS Anderson! Brandon Cutler uses cold spray on Matt while AEW goes picture in picture.

Matt gets up while Gallows CLOBBERS Penta, and Matt bounces Kingston off the timekeeper’s table! Matt mugs Kingston against the apron, then feeds him to Gallows’ BOOT! Gallows taunts the fans, Anderson kicks Penta down and then drags him up to POST him! Gallows sits Kingston up but Kingston grabs Matt’s NUTS!! Gallows rakes Kingston’s eye while Cutler sprays down Matt’s groin. Kaz checks on Penta while Anderson goes after Kingston, then Gallows ROCKS Kingston against railing. Matt throws hands, Kingston throws a chair but misses wild right, and Matt ROCKS him with a haymaker.

Matt brings Kingston to the ramp, puts him in the ring, and mocks the fans rallying up. Matt fires himself up and chokes Kingston on the ropes! The ref counts, Matt clubs away on Kingston’s back then tags in Gallows. Gallows headbutts Kingston then brings him around to bump off buckles. Gallows throws body shots and ROCKS Kingston with an uppercut! Gallows digs his boot in while the ref is busy with Penta and Kaz. Anderson tags in, he stomps Kingston down, then lets off as the ref counts. The Machine Gun soaks up the heat while Kingston flounders up. Kingston throws body shots and backs Anderson down! Anderson rakes Kingston’s eyes and puts him in a corner!

The ref counts, Anderson lets off to throw EuroUppers. AEW returns to single picture as Anderson digs his elbow into Kingston’s face but tags in Gallows. The Good Brothers mug Kingston, then Gallows tags Matt in. Matt has the Good Brothers give him a boost, for an assisted SHOTGUN dropkick! Cover, TWO! Matt is annoyed but he stays between Kingston and his corner. Matt taunts Kingston, kicks at him, then throws sharp haymakers! Kingston eggs Matt on as the hands keep flying, then he CHOPS back! And CHOPS! And CHOPS! Matt rakes Kingston’s eyes! The ref reprimands, Kingston swings blindly but Matt avoids getting hit.

Matt whips Kingston but Kingston reverses and reels Matt in for an OVERHEAD Belly2Belly! Both men are down and fans fire up again! Kingston blinks to see where he is, and finds his corner! Hot tags to Kaz and Anderson! Kaz dodges Anderson to DECK Gallows, and then he rallies on Anderson! Kaz whips, Anderson reverses but Kaz hits a flying forearm! Kaz swings on Matt but Matt dodges, only to shoulder into Kaz’s guillotine leg drop! Kaz gets up, Gallows choke grips him from across the rope, but Kaz hotshots the arm! Kaz scoops Anderson to SLAM him, then springboards for the leg drop, brother! Cover, TWO!!

Fans are thunderous for Kaz as he gets Anderson back up. Anderson throws body shots, whips, but Kaz blocks the back drop to a CROSSFACE CHICKEN WING! Anderson reaches out for ropes but Kaz drags him down first! Gallows gets in to stomp Kaz! The ref reprimands, but Kaz ENZIGURIS Gallows off the apron! Anderson gets Kaz for a SPINEBUSTER! Both men are down and fans rally back up. Kaz crawls, as does Anderson, hot tags to Matt and Penta! Penta goes up to CROSSBODY! Things speed up, Penta gets Matt for a tilt-o-whirl BACKBREAKER! Penta runs but Gallows gets a cheap shot in! Penta GAMANGRIS!

Matt hits and whips Penta but Penta dodges to FLY and take out both Good Brothers! Penta gets up, and GAMANGIRIS Matt! Step-in TORNADO DDT! Cover, TWO!! Matt survives but fans fire up! “CERO MIEDO!” as Penta tags to Kingston. They double whip Matt, run in and GAMANGIRI to KNEE! Kaz joins in with a SWINGING DROPKICK! Penta gets Matt up, reels him in and tucks the arms, FEAR FACTOR to Kingston’s BACK DROP DRIVER! Kaz finishes with an ode to Christopher Daniels, ANGEL’S WINGS!! Kingston covers, but Gallows breaks it! Gallows gets Matt up and over to the corner for Anderson to tag in, and he goes after Penta.

Anderson whips Penta, Penta dodges in the corner and clotheslines then GAMANGIRIS! Roll and MULE KICK! Cover, TWO!! Anderson survives but the fans are thunderous! Penta gets Anderson up and reels him in, but Anderson wrenches out and gets around for a NECKBREAKER! Tag to Gallows, the Good Brothers BLAST Kaz and Kingston down! ROCKET KICK and CORNER SPLASH for Penta, then the BACK SUPLEX NECKBREAKER! Matt is up top, MACHO ELBOW! Gallows covers, TWO?!! Penta survives and The Elite are furious! Tag to Anderson, the Good Brothers get Penta up, MAGIC- NO! Kaz saves Penta but Gallows DECKS him!

Gallows runs but Kaz dumps him out! Matt SUPERKICKS Kaz, but Kingston gets him for a HALF ‘N’ HALF! RUNNING BOOT from Anderson! Anderson gets Penta up, whips him to a corner, but Penta goes up and over for a BACKSTABBER! Fans are electric as Penta says he’ll end this! Penta goes up but NICK JACKSON appears!? And he sprays Penta in the face with that cold spray crap!! Penta falls, Anderson climbs up top, and Anderson leaps for a FLYING GUN STUN!! Cover, The Elite win!!

Winners: Matt Jackson & The Good Brothers, by pinfall

JR says this is going too far! Callis says if getting paid the big money is “going too far,” then he’ll gladly do that every day of the week! Will all these sneaky tactics only come back to bite the Elite in the end?

My Thoughts:

Another great episode for Dynamite, but I feel like they sure put a lot into these two hours tonight. We got a great FTR VS PNP vignette, we got another good promo from Mark Sterling and Jade Cargill, as well as one from Archer and Jake the Snake. The interview promo with Britt, Rebel and Vickie, which was mostly Vickie, was good. I had a feeling manager/sidekick characters would start facing off, and so the idea of Britt & Rebel taking on Nyla & Vickie is pretty clever. There’s a good chance Rebel takes the loss to Nyla so that Nyla has momentum going towards her title match with Britt without Britt looking like the weak one.

Andrade had a good interview promo with JR, too, and I like that there’s something else in store. I feel like AEW could’ve advertised that Andrade is facing Kenny Omega for the AAA Mega Championship in August, assuming that’s still on track, but maybe they’ll save that for when Andrade has already won a good handful of matches in AEW. Omega’s gotta start feeling the heat soon, and that could start with Jungle Boy next week. Their segment together was very good, and of course Omega doubles down on being the chicken Heel. Omega will likely have Nakazawa try to cheat for him next week, just so it isn’t the same old, same old with Callis.

Hangman had a good promo with the Dark Order, putting everyone else over and not really acknowledging Omega. Hangman VS Hobbs is going to be a great match to add to the strength of next week’s episode, and it very well could be foreshadowing that if both Hangman and Omega win that night, then that is our All Out 2021 match-up. Christian Cage being put in a cage was clever but also understated, and also a good, quick way to help escalate things between him and Matt Hardy. Penelope Ford’s return win also being a segue to Miro having a title match in a few weeks was also very good story blending. I feel like Kip returns that night to set up his revenge angle with Miro.

Hager VS Wardlow was a very good MMA style match, and it makes sense Hager would win. He can’t have an anomaly on his record where he’s undefeated in real-life but has one loss in kayfabe. Hager wins to stay strong in all realms, and the short moment of respect was good, because it adds a little something to how Spears ruined it by attacking. MJF adding on and Sammy going after him was a good detail. I suppose Sammy and MJF can settle their score before Sammy VS Spears and MJF VS Jericho. If anything, that was the fifth match I wasn’t seeing in the Pinnacle VS Inner Circle Summer of Violence and Pain best of five series. Hager won for Inner Circle, I think MJF wins for Pinnacle, then Sammy redeems himself against Spears and it’s a toss-up between FTR VS PNP and MJF VS Y2J.

Darby put up a valiant effort but of course he loses to The Men of the Year. Two very strong singles competitors who are also a tag team aren’t going to lose to Darby, who is their individual equal. I can’t be sure where this all ends, since we got Sting & Darby VS Ethan & Scorpio already at Double or Nothing, but I feel like Sting is going to return in the next part of the story. Cassidy VS Bononi was a very fun match because of the hijinks from the Wingmen, but naturally Cassidy won. He, Best Friends and Statlander could easily be a golden faction at some point, they’re going to be building up some major momentum in the various divisions.

Cody & Brock VS The Factory was a very good match, and though Brock took a second to get going, he was pretty good out there. Cody going after QT so that Brock could get the win on Solow makes sense, this was all meant to help boost Brock’s status here, and it keeps math neutral between Cody and QT as their strap match draws closer. The Six Man Tag was another awesome one, showing that any combination of The Elite still loves to cheat, but also that any combination of their enemies is strong enough to force them to stoop that low. I cannot wait until more #EliteHunter allies return, such as Rey Fenix or Pac, but especially Jon Moxley.

Moxley will be the guy that one, the fans all pop for, and two, AEW gives the strongest return to because he’ll go right for all The Elite and be the one that tips the scales in favor of the Elite Hunters. Moxley is of course out on paternity leave as Renee Young/Paquette just had their baby girl, so I don’t know if All Out is a viable window with it only being two-and-a-half months away, but the rest of this story should still stay on track to where something big goes down between the Elite and their enemies. Kaz, Kingston and the full Death Triangle VS Omega, Bucks and Good Brothers, at least.

My Score: 9.4/10

Toni Storm is here!

Or rather, she’s still here given just last night, the TIMELESS AEW Women’s World Champion won a Fatal 4 Way Eliminator. And now she’s in the special box seat “balcony” with mic in hand. Detroit cheers and she blows kisses before saying, “So many men have taken a shot at me in here, I’m feeling like Abraham Lincoln. I will never forget my first. It was messy, it was sweaty, and painful. But I only wanted more. Once a month, once a week, twice a week, I was hooked. But then, it only became more risky. One at a time, then two at a time. And three at a time! Incorporating random objects, all the while being watched by perverts.”

The fans cheer being perverts but then Toni says, “One day, it will not end well for me. It will break my body and soil my soul. But in the end, I know it’s what I was born to do. And if you think I was referring to sexual intercourse, then get your minds out of the gutter!” Toni takes a moment before she continues, “Because the best bang could not compare to fighting for this!” She holds up the title and the fans cheer more! “I am not waiting for a Hayter or a CEO. So next week, line up the next batch of slop tarts, because baby wants to binge!” The fans also like the sound of that! Toni says spit on it and sit on it, and let’s get TIMELESS~!

The fans applaud and Toni takes a bow. Beach Break just got that much bigger, but who will take their shot at The Tramp that is The Champ?

Backstage interview with Paragon.

Lexy Nair is with Adam Cole, Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly to ask them about the 2 Out of 3 Falls last Saturday. Roddy says that to say they’re disappointed is an understatement. He and Kyle are one of the best teams on this planet, and they thought it’d be like riding a bike. But it has been a bit more difficult than they thought. Kyle agrees that they’re frustrated and disappointed, but what they aren’t doing is taking anything away from themselves. They’re the Paragon and they’re still one of the best tag teams out there. And any other day, any other time, 99 out of 100, Kyle & Roddy win that match.

Cole agrees, and he knows that was tough last week. But they are one of the best teams in the world. There will be plenty of chances to prove that this year. But in step the Grizzled Young Veterans and Zack Gibson says say that again. He can’t believe Paragon has the nerve to stand here sulking and complaining. Honestly, this three are three of the best ever. The problem is, they’ve gone soft! They’ve forgotten what it is to fight for their sport. So any time they’re ready, GYV will remind them what that’s like. Kyle & Roddy say why not. GYV will be the first time that gets stomped on Paragon’s way back to the top!

GYV laugh that off then take their leave. But when and where will Liverpool’s Number One & Mr. Mayhem take on the Savior of the Backbreaker & the Violent Artist?

Ricochet VS Angelico w/ Serpentico!

The One & Only just got a big win last night alongside the Young Bucks, but now he looks to get a win on his own. Will Ricochet make Detroit #OuttaThisWorld two nights in a row? Or will tonight belong to Spanish Announce Project’s South African Stud?

The bell rings and the fans rally as Angelico and Ricochet circle. They feel things out, circle more, then Angelico leaves Ricochet hanging by smoothing his hair. Ricochet says ha ha, more bald jokes. Ricochet waistlocks, the fans chant, “He Has Hair!” but Ricochet hammerlocks and snapmares to then ghost pin, TWO! Ricochet taunts Angelico that this is professional wrestling, not modeling. Angelico trips Ricochet to cover, ONE! Angelico has a cording hold and he keeps Ricochet from the ropes. Ricochet wrenches, but Angelico gets the cording hold back! Ricochet endures, reaches out, but Angelico arm-drags him to the mat!

The fans cheer more, but Ricochet kips up. Angelico wrangles him back down! Ricochet claws at Angelico but Angelico polishes the bald head! The fans cheer and Angelico keeps on the arm. Ricochet fights up again, but Angelico wrangles him back down! Angelico gives Ricochet more polish, then stands him up to wrench and cording hold. Ricochet throws a body shot, flips up and over, but Angelico switches arms for a modified Cobra Twist! Angelico holds up his hand and the fans cheer, but Ricochet fights free and bails out. The fans boo but then Angelico sneaks up to clamp on shoulder claws!

Ricochet fights back, and he THROWS Angelico to the floor! Ricochet skins the cat, then TORNILLO PLANCHAS! Ricochet takes down Angelico, taunts Serpentico, then goes storming off to grab a chair! Ricochet chases off #SNAKEMAN, and Collision goes picture in picture.

Ricochet gets up on the barrier to soak up more heat, and he even flicks sweat off his bald head! Ricochet puts Angelico in the ring, stalks him to ropes, then CHOKES him! The ref counts, Ricochet backs off, and Serpentico coaches Angelico. Angelico sputters but Ricochet brings him up for a snapmare. Ricochet digs his knee into Angelico’s back as part of the chinlock. Angelico endures, fights up, and fires body shots. Angelico is free, runs the ropes, but Ricochet DROPKICKS him down! Ricochet taunts the fans, covers Angelico, TWO! Angelico is tougher than that but Ricochet covers again, ONE! And again, ONE! And again, ONE!!

Ricochet throws a fit and SLAPS Angelico down before arguing with the ref. The ref defends the count, so Ricochet just stomps away on Angelico’s back! Ricochet taunts the fans, goes back to stomp Angelico and kick him around, then he kicks Angelico to the ropes. Angelico rises to BODY BLOW! And JAB! Ricochet staggers back, Angelico fires more shots! Angelico runs, KICKS the backdrop away, then runs again, only for Ricochet to FLAPJACK him off ropes and JUMPING NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Angelico survives and Collision returns to single picture. Ricochet storms his way to a corner while the fans boo.

Ricochet aims and 450- NO, he has to bail out as Angelico moves! Ricochet comes back but Angelico dodges again, Ricochet hits only buckles! Angelico swings, Ricochet dodges and shoves to TIGER WALL KICK! And SOBAT! KNEE! But Angelico KNEES in return! Ricochet rebounds to V-TRIGGER! ROLLING- NO, Angelico clinches for a LIFTING FLATLINER! The fans fire up while both men are down! A standing count starts, Ricochet and Angelico stir, and they rise at 5 of 10. Angelico counters a punch and then fires haymakers! Angelico whips, Ricochet reverses, but then Ricochet catches the leap!

Angelico fights Ricochet’s clinch with elbows, then whips, but Ricochet reverses, Angelico LEAPING LARIATS! And LEAPING LARIATS again! The fans fire up and Angelico storms up to Ricochet. Angelico whips, Ricochet reverses, but Angelico reverses back! COBRA TWIST, and the HEAD SLAPS! The fans fire up as Angelico just takes Ricochet to task! Ricochet sputters and staggers around, Angelico kicks and Canadian Racks! YOYO SLAM, into a hammerlock and HALF CRAB! Ricochet endures, reaches out, but Angelico gets the other arm! Ricochet kicks with his free leg and has the ROPEBREAK! The fans boo but Angelico lets go.

Ricochet goes to the apron, Angelico storms up, but Ricochet HOTSHOTS him! And then FLICKS the ropes at Angelico to hit down low! Ricochet then springboards and FLYING LARIATS! The fans boo but Ricochet runs for a STANDING SHOOTING STAR! Cover, TWO! Ricochet just keeps going, dragon sleeper for the VERTIGO!! Ricochet rolls back, locks ‘n’ loads, and SPIRIT GUN!! Cover, Ricochet wins!

Winner: Ricochet, by pinfall

Ricochet made sure Angelico was done before he got the 1-2-3, and now he gets the mic. “Go ahead. C’mon, I can’t hear you! I can’t hear you!” The fans boo and taunt him more and Ricochet says he welcomes it all! Their boos mean NOTHING to him, because he sees what they cheer for. And c’mon, if you cheer for the Detroit Lions, that means you’re dumb as hell. If you were smart, if you had any amount of common sense, you’d be cheering for him! The fans keep taunting him with “They’re Not Bald!” But Ricochet says the Eagles won the Super Bowl, what’re they talking about? They should be cheering him, because he’s been here less than a year and he’s beaten most of the favorites!

Brody King, Will Ospreay, Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight, Mark Briscoe, Swerve Strickland, and even Kenny Omega! All of them are AEW legends, and Ricochet beat them all! But wait, speaking of legends… Ricochet points out the living legend, Zach Gowen! Ricochet remembers growing up, watching wrestling, he was a huge fan of Zach Gowen. Huge fan. He remembers when big Brock would beat him up and down the arena, that was awesome. But the thing is, Daddy Gowen used to be on this side of the barriers, but now he’s on the other side of them. What happened, Zach? Doesn’t have a leg in the fight anymore?

Ricochet laughs at his own offensive joke, and then asks where that fire is now. He pushes Zach around, security rushes in and Ricochet says he wasn’t doing anything! They’re just talking! Then he BOPS each and every guard! They like that? Ricochet THROWS one guy into railing! Ricochet does his own commentary as he sends another one into the steel steps! Then he puts the third one in the ring, and says Zach might like this. The fans boo but now Ricochet brings out THE SCISSORS! Ricochet cuts this guy’s hair up! But Zach jumps into the ring!! The fans cheer as Zach snatches the scissors from Ricochet!

The fans cheer as Zach asks what is wrong with Ricochet! Ricochet says sorry, sorry! But then he KICKS Zach’s leg out! And then SPIRIT GUN!! The fans boo even more but Ricochet isn’t done with Zach. He takes Zach’s prosthetic leg away! The fans boo as loud as they can as Ricochet leaves with the leg! Ricochet isn’t just humiliating Zach Gowen, he’s committing a crime! Ricochet holds the leg up as a trophy, then mockingly limps with it. Will anyone ever humble the ego that is #OuttaThisWorld?

8 Man Tag: The Don Callis Family VS The Outrunners, Bandido & AR Fox!

Don Callis himself dared Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd to find a friend so they could settle things with Roppongi Vice and the Family, but the Outrunners did better than that! They found TWO friends! Will the Most Wanted ROH World Champion and the Whole Fox’n Show help the Youngest Men Alive humble Callis’ cronies? Or will Trent Beretta, Rocky Romero, Lance Archer & Kyle Fletcher use them to take out all of their frustrations?

Callis of course joins commentary while the teams sort out. Callis calls tonight “Don Callis Championship Wrestling,” and says Detroit boos him and his Family because it is a city of losers. Kyle Fletcher starts against Bandido and the fans fire up. Kyle and Bandido circle, the fans rally up more, and they tie up. They go around, Kyle puts Bandido on the ropes. The fans rally for Bandido and he dodges the chop to CHOP! Kyle swings, Bandido dodges and headlocks. Kyle powers up and out, Bandido RAMS him, but Kyle rebounds to RUN Bandido over! Kyle flexes, the fans boo, but then Turbo flexes and the fans cheer.

So Kyle BOOTS Turbo off the apron! Kyle runs, Bandido dodges, hurdles, but Kyle leaps over. The fans tell Callis off while things keep moving. Bandido slips around to tilt-o-whirl RANA! And then DROPKICK! Kyle falls against ropes, Trent tags in, and Trent CLOBBERS Bandido! The fans boo, Trent rains down fists, and the ref reprimands. Trent stops to tag in Rocky. Roppongi Vice mugs Bandido, then they DOUBLE BACK SUPLEX! But Bandido lands out, tags AR Fox, and Fox BOOTS Rocky! And BOOTS Trent! Fox goes up, up, and CANNONBALLS! The fans fire up but here comes the Murderhawk Monster!

Archer scoops Fox into the crucifix lift! But Fox slips free, goes Matrix to dodge, and he ENZIGIRIS! Archer tumbles out, Fox whips Rocky to the corner, Rocky runs into Turbo’s BOOT! Truth adds a HAYMAKER, then Fox tags Turbo. Turbo brings Rocky around to wrench and wristlock. Truth tags in as they whip and atomic drop, UPPERCUT HART ATTACK! Trent is back, but he runs into a DOUBLE HIP TOSS! The fans fire up with The Outrunner as they run at the corners! BACK ELBOWS in stereo for RPG Vice! Then Outrunners trade, more ELBOWS in stereo! Then a feed to the BULLDOG LARIAT COMBO! The fans fire up while The Outrunners wind it up!

“Turbo Floyd! You-” Well, Trent gets Rocky out of there, they do NOT give the people what they want. Archer is back and he double choke grips! DOUBLE CHOKE SLAM!! Archer BLASTS Fox & Bandido off the corner, Kyle is there to beat them up, and the fans boo as Archer stomps away on Truth! Archer stands on Truth in the corner and laughs while Collision goes picture in picture.

BREAKING NEWS for Beach Break!

After the assault and humiliation that we saw earlier tonight, Zach Gowen is going to make his return to wrestling! Will Zach get revenge on Ricochet for taking things too far?

Jon Moxley speaks.

“So, we’re through the obligatory preamble, casualties on both sides. Last night, you took out my number one lieutenant. Now I could vow revenge and talk about all the things I’m gonna do to Samoa Joe once I get him inside that steel cage. But that would be rather rote, and probably mostly untrue. What do we know? The consensus is Samoa Joe is gonna kick my ass. And yeah, there’s nobody on the planet better at getting their ass kicked than me. The question isn’t whether Joe will beat me up. The question is, how long can he do it? Five, eight minutes? Ten? 20? 25? I’ve got all night.

“I know you don’t think very much of me, Joe, but you are one of the guys that I have genuine respect for. You are the embodiment of a champion. But you’re not the AEW World Champion, I am. And I know that no matter what happens to me inside that steel cage in Chicago, no matter what Hell is put on me, no matter what I am put through in that steel cage, I know I have been through worse. I have been through the kind of Hell, I have weathered the kind of storms, I have faced down the kinds of demons that would keep these kids up at night. So I don’t need to be feared or respected by you or anybody else. I just need you to show up.

“I don’t get along with the rest of the world because I am not like the rest of the world. And believe it or not, next week, there is nowhere else in the world I would rather be than locked inside a steel cage in Chicago with the AEW World Championship hanging in the balance, with the baddest man in pro-wrestling, Samoa Joe. I didn’t build my foundation on sand. When the storm comes through, the only thing that matters is who is the last man standing.” The Maniac has issued his ultimatum, will he ultimately be the baddest man in AEW?

Dax kicks at Garcia, egging him on. Garcia scowls as Dax pie faces him! The fans rally, Garcia rises, and Dax looks worried. Dax SLAPS Garcia, but Garcia just clamps onto Dax’s neck! Dax breaks fere, Garcia CHOP, CHOPS, and CHOPS! Garcia CHOPS away on Dax at the ropes! The fans fire up and Garcia whips, but Dax reverses. Garcia LARIATS, Dax staggers, so Garcia runs again! Another LARIAT but Dax still stays on his feet! Garcia runs, Dax ROCKS him, and then Dax whips. Garcia reverses, Dax reverses to wrench, but Garcia dodges the lariat to LARIAT! Down goes Dax and the fans fire up!

Stoke is frustrated for Dax as the fans rally up. Garcia storms up on Dax to climb up. Garcia rains down fists, and the fans count all the way to nine. Garcia foams at the mouth before he hits TEN! The fans fire up, Garcia waistlocks, but Dax holds onto a buckle pad! That pad comes loose, Garcia still hits a SAIDO! The fans fire up as Garcia covers, TWO!! Dax survives but Garcia goes for the legs. Dax CLAWS at Garcia’s face and shoves him away! Garcia still gets the legs and trips Dax up! DRAGON- NO, Dax fights and BOOTS Garcia into the bare steel! SLINGSHOT POWERBOMB!! Cover, TWO?!?! Garcia survives and Detroit is thunderous!

Stokely is seething and Dax is pissed, but the fans continue to rally for “DANNY! DANNY!” Dax goes up, and Garcia CHOPS first! Garcia climbs, brings Dax up, and they go to the very top! SUPER DUPER PLEX!! And then a roll through! Garcia hoists Dax up to the top rope again, and goes back up top! Another SUPER DUPER PLEX!! But Garcia isn’t done, he’s taking Three Amigos to a new level! The fans are thunderous as Garcia goes to the next corner, hoists Dax up, and climbs again! The fans want the hattrick, and Garcia brings Dax up! SUPER DUPER THREE AMIGOS!!! Both men are down and the fans are electric!

Stokely is furious as Garcia crawls to a cover! ROPEBREAK!! Garcia miscalculates and that works out for Dax! “This is Awesome!” and that might be an understatement! Dax and Garcia rise, go forehead to forehead, and then they go forearm for forearm! Garcia gets the edge and the fans love it! Garcia BOOTS Dax out of the ring, then pursues! Stoke has to run away before Garcia CLOBBERS Dax from behind! They go into the crowd, the fans fire up as they’re even closer to the action now! This brawl goes through the stands, around behind commentary, and Dax SMACKS Garcia off railing! And then off more railing!

Schiavone & Nigel just mind their own business, and yet Dax still feels the need to push Nigel’s headset off him! The fans boo and Nigel seethes. Nigel stands up, Dax dares him to do something! Detroit tells Dax he done F’d up, but Nigel just puts his headset back on. Nigel says he is a professional, but a professional commentator. Dax is the wrestler, so Nigel will not touch him. Dax SHOVES Nigel down! Nigel is furious but Dax already storms off to find Garcia. Dax puts Garcia in the ring, but Garcia reels Dax in! Dax fights the lift, Stoke barks from the apron! The ref backs stoke off, but Dax LOW BLOWS Garcia!

But now Nigel is storming down to ringside! Garcia fights the lift and Nigel is on the apron! Dax storms up on Nigel, but Nigel RAMS Dax down low! UPPERCUT! But Cash is back! He kicks Nigel low, reels him in, but Nigel WRINGS Cash out! Garcia LARIATS Dax up and out, and clearly by now the ref has just thrown this one out!

No Contest

Menard is back and he LARIATS Cash up and out! The fans fire up as Menard, Garcia and McGuinness stand tall together! FTR kept pushing buttons but they pushed the wrong ones! Will Stoke, Dax & Cash have to fear the repercussions of their actions?

My Thoughts:

A great Collision, but it apparently caught a bit of the Go Home Syndrome. There were quite a few recap packages I skipped but clearly they are working to hype Beach Break for next. Moxley’s newest promo was alright, didn’t really add much, because as I said just last night, Moxley surely finds a way to retain with help from The Death Riders. I will say, it made a lot of sense for the remaining Death Riders to cost Willow. Marina and Willow still have beef, and I’m still hoping on my idea from last night: Shayna Baszler shows up, teams with Marina, we get Shayna & Marina VS Willow & Kris. Let’s up the ante and get another classic Street Fight Tag out of Kris & Willow.

Great promo from Toni Storm to open the night, and good to hear Skye Blue is back. Another Fatal 4 Way Eliminator makes me wonder if one of the mystery entrants ends up taking the loss. There was also that spider during Kris VS Willow, which I believe is a teaser for Thekla. Thekla could easily jump into the Fatal 4 Way and get close to winning, but who knows. And as I said last night, not sure why they’re holding Athena back from doing much of anything right now. With Supercard of Honor now delayed to July to coincide with All In: Texas, Athena should really be getting involved more on AEW TV so people don’t forget she exists.

Very good stuff with Bowens VS Lee, and I appreciate the albeit lazy way they changed Bowen’s logo so that it doesn’t resemble the Shane Taylor Promotions’ STP. Bowens of course wins, but his promo after was pretty much the same as his other ones. At least he did one last scissoring with Billy. Bowens is unfortunately not going to get a title story right now with all the champions preoccupied in something else. Though honestly, I feel like there is a way for Okada VS Bowens to be a great match, and then someone violates the Continental Rules so that Okada loses without really losing. Best way I can think of is Swerve is hunting The Bucks, they go ringside, and since Bucks are associate with Okada, that’s a violation on his part, and it adds more heat to whatever big thing Double or Nothing has planned.

Great stuff from the Don Callis Family in all their matches. I wasn’t expecting a big 8 Man Tag, and I’m a little disappointed Brody King wasn’t one of the participants, but maybe that’s the next phase. Great showing from the Faces, especially AR Fox. Fox is in a similar boat to Bowens where he certainly deserves title opportunities but TK just isn’t seeing how to write it. But between that and the dominance Konosuke & Alexander over Dark Order, it feels like the Don Callis Family get their comeuppance with Hangman & Ospreay winning next week.

Ricochet VS Angelico was rather outta nowhere but it was still a great match. It was also clearly a vehicle so Ricochet could start beef with Zach (Zack?) Gowen and give us a Beach Break match between them for the real deepcut long time wrestling fans. Much like Bowens and Fox, I feel like Ricochet is waiting on a title to be freed up from story so he can go get those titles. Such as Paragon now feuding with Grizzled Young Veterans for a minute, which in a way keeps Adam Cole isolated. TK should’ve just given us Ricochet VS Cole for the fun of it because Ricochet VS Cole would be incredibly fun stuff. They could even revisit their NXT history if they wanted to.

Great stuff with Gates of Agony and Learning Tree, that was much better than last week’s. I really hope this gives us a Tornado Tag match. For that matter, why aren’t we getting that in the story of Anna Jay & Harley Cameron VS Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford? Good promo from those teams to hype up… just Anna VS Megan… It’d make Beach Break Collision feel all the bigger but whatever, maybe they feel Ford still isn’t up to speed after that Fatal 4 Way last night. But doing a chaotic tag match could help iron out some of that so that Ford can just focus on what she is good at with the gymnastics and throwing hands.

And awesome stuff with Garcia VS “Dax the Axe” in the main event. And yeah, I didn’t put it in myself, but they’re really committing to that as Dax’s ring name right now. Great to see Menard helping Garcia, and even Nigel standing up for himself against Dax. A “No Contest” result was a little odd but I suppose that’s like saying it is a draw where no one goes over. But with the Faces standing tall, maybe Nigel steps in and teams with Garcia right now for Double or Nothing so that Garcia teaming with Cope is the All In moment.

My Score: 8.8/10

Hangman Page is here!

Motor City fires up for that #CowboySh*t as the Men’s Owen Hart Cup finalist makes his way out to the ring. Hangman grabs a mic and says, “I don’t know that I’ve ever understood, after everything that I’ve done, why even one of you would cheer for me, but…” The fans cheer and chant for “COWBOY SH*T!” and Hangman continues, “I just want to let you know that it does make a difference, so thank you.” The fans applaud and Hangman says he probably shouldn’t have to say it, but the past two years for him have been “some kind of special Hell.” And after what happened to his family, he wanted revenge, he wanted justice, and he’d found it!

Hangman took from another man his only hopes and dreams, and Hangman nearly killed him! And after their steel cage match, Hangman stood at the top of the ramp and thought he’d finally feel some kind of joy, some kind of closure, to an awful chapter of his life. But he felt nothing. Hangman thought that maybe if he went and finished the job, he’d have his closure, but he couldn’t do it! The fans now chant, “Tell Us Why! Tell Us Why!” Hangman says he doesn’t know why. But since he couldn’t find that closure, he took that anger, bottled it up, and he unleashed it on anyone who got in his way, because he thought that’d give him catharsis! But all it did was tear down everyone around him!

“So I had to make a decision. Swerve Strickland…” The fans chant for “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” Hangman tells Swerve that he will never forgive what Swerve did to him. And he will probably never forget. But for Hangman, he will have to put it behind him. Hangman made his decision to enter this year’s Owen Hart Cup, and he defeated Josh Alexander in the first round, and then in front of his friends and family, Hangman defeated Kyle Fletcher in the second. And finally, at Double or Nothing, for a chance at the AEW World Championship, Hangman wrestles who everyone says is the BEST wrestler in the world, Will Ospreay.

The fans cheer, and then here comes Ospreay! Detroit fires up even more as the Aerial Assassin walks to the ring to be face-to-face with the Cowboy. The fans are losing their minds just from these two staring down! There’s also a “Happy Birthday!” chant for Ospreay. Ospreay apologizes for interrupting Hangman’s “therapy session,” but isn’t it a bit strange the amount of promotions they’ve both been part of, and this is the first time they’ve even spoken to one another? Just for Ospreay, it is a pleasure to meet The Hangman. And in that same breath, Ospreay wants to apologize, he sees Hangman’s been through a lot.

Ospreay’s seen it with his own eyes, and he’s seen it through the fans’ eyes. “We have watched your journey, my man. I understand how much this match means to you. I get it. I’ve seen it. We’ve all seen it. One of my favorite moments in wrestling, mate, one of my favorite moments is when you took these misfits known as The Dark Order, and you showed ’em leadership, and you showed ’em what it takes to be a cowboy, bruv.” The fans cheer that! Ospreay says from there, how Hangman rode that support and became THE AEW World Champion, “mate, it was perfect!” The fans also cheer that.

But Ospreay continues, “It’s just, after you lost it, everything changed, didn’t it? I understand. I get it. You’ve had a rough couple o’ years. I spotted something last week. Last week, after you beat Kyle Fletcher, I and these people saw something we ain’t seen from you in a long time. You smiled again.” The fans cheer that, too! Ospreay says we hadn’t seen that from The Cowboy in a long time. And while everyone here, including Ospreay, really wants Hangman to beat those demons and go reclaim his spot as the “main character” of AEW, Ospreay has a problem with that. At Double or Nothing, Ospreay is not losing.

See, while Hangman has been finding himself, he’s been tearing this place apart! Does Ospreay even need to mention Jeff Jarrett, Christopher Daniels, or even one of Ospreay’s best friends, Swerve Strickland? See, Ospreay has been doing all of Hangman’s jobs! Has Hangman been doing media? NOPE, Ospreay’s been doing it! Has Hangman been doing meet ‘n’ greets? NOPE, Ospreay’s been doing it! Has Hangman been taking photos with kids and their families? NOPE, Ospreay’s been doing it! And the best bit of it is, when they ring the bell, Ospreay is the one showing AEW is where the best wrestle! OSPREAY, NOT HANGMAN!

And what? All because Hangman is smiling again, all because Hangman’s found himself, he thinks he can just take that spot back? That don’t mean Cowboy Sh*t to Ospreay, bruv! The fans are torn, but Ospreay says all of this, he understands it is about Hangman’s redemption, but it is far too little and far too late! This is not about Hangman’s redemption, this is about Ospreay’s ascension! Ospreay and Hangman get up in each other’s face, but then The Don Callis Family shows up! With Josh Alexander, Lance Archer, Konosuke Takeshita, Rocky Romero & Trent Beretta at his back, Don Callis has a mic to say, “Y’know, Ospreay…!”

The fans boo a lot but Callis continues with how every day, Ospreay shows us just how stupid he is! The dumbest day of Ospreay’s life was when he left the Don Callis Family! The fans tell Callis off but Callis says just to prove how stupid Ospreay is, does Ospreay even know what is standing in the ring with him? Does he even know what that is next to him!? Callis will tell ya! “That is a violent, mentally unstable sociopath who put his mentor in the retirement home and he can’t walk!” The fans boo, Hangman is riled up but Ospreay has Hangman stand down. The fans again tell Callis off.

Ospreay says he’s already had enough of Callis’ talking! Why not do us a favor, Callis, and bring any two of your guys down to the ring right now so Ospreay and Hangman can- But then Hangman brushes Ospreay’s hand away. Callis says he sees what’s going on here. But y’know what? Hangman and Ospreay can’t even get through a segment together without wanting to kill one another! This is the first good idea Ospreay’s ever had! Callis will take any two members of his family to put against Ospreay & Hangman, so long as Hangman doesn’t have another mental breakdown before next week!

The fans boo more and they tell Callis to STFU. Ospreay and Hangman stare down as the Callis Family leaves, but what hand will be dealt this close to Double or Nothing?

FTR visit commentary…?

Cash Wheeler, Dax Harwood & Stokely Hathaway just walk over, and #BigStoke has the mic to tell Tony Schiavone, “Lemme ask you a question.” The fans boo but Stoke asks Schiavone if he has an issue with FTR. Does Nigel McGuinness have an issue with FTR? Because if Stoke recalls correctly, FTR issued an apology. But week after week after week after week, Schiavone has something negative to say about them, and more importantly, something negative to say about Stokely! The fans boo but Stokely says last Saturday Night Collision, Schiavone said Stoke was a snake in the grass! A snake in the grass…!

But y’know what Schiavone is? He’s a decrepit, pale, pasty piece of- Schiavone stops Stokely there and says that’s enough. The fans cheer for Tony, and Tony stands to ask Stokely & FTR to politely leave. But Stokely SHOVES Schiavone! Schiavone gets back up but FTR stand in the way. Cash tells Tony to relax! He’s so tense! Loosen up a bit. This isn’t even about Schiavone. Daniel Garcia says he wants answers, but why did FTR do what they did to him? He gave them no choice! Garcia made that decision himself. FTR saw themselves as father figures to Garcia, and Garcia turned his back on them!

So like Cash’s father taught him, sometimes you learn lessons the hard way! Tomorrow night, Thursday Night Collision, here in Detroit, Cash promises Garcia that it’ll hurt them a lot more than it will Garcia… emotionally. The fans boo, but Dax smirks as he says, “Tony… Tell Nigel we’ll see him tomorrow night. Top Guys, out.” FTR leave, but will they survive their Collision with Red Death?

Harley Cameron and Anna Jay talk backstage.

The wild Aussie tells the Queenslayer that tonight, Anna goes into battle and comes out with a title match! Don’t think about anything else! Anna says Harley’s had her fat ass’s back out there, and she’ll have her fat ass again tonight, right? With both hands! Harley has the T, Anna has the A! Tenacity and aggression! Uh, yeah, and the other kind. Those, too! So Toni Storm, Thunder Rosa, Penelope Ford, “Who wants to get choked out!?” YEAH! That was definitely the closing line! Giddy-up! Anna hops onto Harley and they head to gorilla! Will Anna prove she’s the Star of the Show? Or will Dynamite still be Timeless?

AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Fatal 4 Way: Toni Storm VS Penelope Ford VS Thunder Rosa  VS Anna Jay!

The bell rings and Anna goes right at Ford, still wanting to settle scores from the past few weeks! Rosa and Toni stay back a moment, still allied as ThunderStorm/ThunderTits. Ford and Anna go to the outside, and Anna sends Ford into railing! The fans fire up, and now the friendly rivals tie up. Toni headlocks, Rosa powers up and out, but Toni runs her over! Things keep moving, Rosa ducks ‘n’ dodges to tilt-o-whirl RANA! Rosa DROPKICKS Toni, Ford sends Anna into steel steps, and Rosa runs to DROPKICK Toni against ropes! Cover, TWO! Ford gets in there to whip Rosa, but Rosa dodges, arm-drags, and lateral presses! TWO!

Ford is up but Rosa scoops her for a SLAM! Rosa then rallies the fans, runs the ropes, but Ford avoids the splash Rosa belly flops and Ford runs up to wheelbarrow! Victory roll, but Rosa rolls into the ropes! Ford runs to DROPKICK Rosa! Cover, Anna breaks it! Anna pushes Ford into the ropes, stands her up, and ROCKS her! Anna runs up, avoids the shoulder from Ford, and KNEES her in the ropes! And LEG LARIATS, then HOTSHOT NECKBREAKERS! Anna drags Ford to a cover, Toni breaks it! The fans cheer and Toni fires forearms on Anna! Toni ROCKS Anna, reels her in, FISHERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, Ford LOW BLOWS Toni!

The Superbad Girl is naturally the first to use the No Disqualification rules and the fans boo. Toni tumbles out, Ford throws Anna out to join her, and then Ford ASAI MOONSAULTS! Direct hit and the fans fire up, but now Rosa climbs! Ford has Toni & Anna, Rosa SUPER CROSSBODIES onto them all! La Mera Mera wipes out all three weras and the fans are thunderous! Rosa rises again as Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Rosa stomps Anna, drags her up, and SMACKS her off steel steps! Toni stands, she and Rosa call truce, and Rosa drags Ford up while Toni goes for Anna. Ford fires forearms on Rosa, Toni sends Anna into barriers, and Ford CHOPS Rosa. Toni CHOPS Anna! Toni then kicks Ford, CLUBS her down, and Rosa helps out. ThunderStorm mugs Ford, then puts her in the ring. They drag Anna up, scoop for the BACKBREAKER and LEG DROP! Rosa covers but Toni stops her! Toni covers, but Rosa stops her! They argue, Toni kicks low, and then Toni TOSSES Rosa! Toni goes back for Ford, headscissor squeeze!

Ford endures but Rosa returns. Toni apologizes but Rosa grabs her for a headscissor squeeze! Now Toni endures, but Anna is back! Anna grabs Ford’s legs, powers up, and she turns the chain over! Ford endures multiple submissions, but Toni is still stuck between Rosa’s legs! Anna can’t hold on any longer, she lets go and everyone is separated! Anna and Rosa stand to fire forearms while Ford and Toni go to corners. Anna ROCKS Rosa, Rosa ROCKS Anna, and then they both fire up! They both run, and DOUBLE FOREARMS knock them both down! Toni rises, but so does Ford, and now they start trading shots!

Dynamite returns to single picture, the fans cheer Toni and boo Ford. Toni gets the edge and the fans fire up! But Ford takes a swing! Only for Toni to catch her in a GERMAN SUPLEX! Rosa returns to KNEE Toni down! Anna rises but Rosa is on her first! Rosa CHOPS, then whips, but Anna grabs ropes! Anna ELBOWS Rosa back, then BOOTS her! Rosa falls, the fans rally and Anna covers, TWO! Anna snarls, but then Ford yanks Anna down! They brawl on the outside, Anna ROCKS Ford and snap suplexes her to the floor! Anna rises, but she has to duck Rosa’s dropkick! Rosa and Anna brawl outside, and Rosa DDTS Anna to the floor!

The fans fire up and Toni is back. ThunderStorm regroups, but Ford is up top! ARIHARA MOONSAULT!! Ford wipes out the ThunderStorm and the Star, and Detroit cheers because that was legit! Ford puts Anna in, Anna goes away to a corner, and “This is Awesome!” as Ford handsprings in! Anna dodges, then runs up to LEG LARIAT! Toni runs to SPLASH them both! Ford & Anna sit down, Toni keeps moving, and she says kiss this! SWEET HIP MUSIC for two! Then she sets up for Rosa! Rosa runs up, THUNDER IN MOTION DROPKICK! Ford takes the shot, then ThunderStorm reels her in!

Ford fights the suplexes, and here comes Megan Bayne! It was only a matter of time before The Megasus made her presence known. Megan storms into the ring, Rosa runs up, but Megan BOOTS Rosa down! Then she LARIATS Toni! The fans boo as Megan eggs Rosa on. Rosa rises, into the FLYING LARIAT! Megan smirks, but Anna is up! The fans fire up as Anna steps to Megan, but then Megan dodges a shot to fireman’s carry! Anna slips free and fires forearms! The fans fire up, but Ford CLUBS Anna! Anna gest mad and DECKS Ford! But then Megan LARIATS Anna! Megan hauls Anna up, reels her in, and lifts her up, BAYNE BOMB!

BUT HERE COMES HARLEY! And she has a lead pipe! She dodges Megan, LARIATS Megan up and out, abut then Megan drags her out! Harley dodges and JAMS Megan up! And CLUBS her on the back! Harley keeps after Megan with that equalizer and the fans are thunderous! Harley runs Megan off to the back, only for Ford to have Anna in the MUTA LOCK!! But Toni runs up to LOW BLOW Ford in return! The fans fire up as Toni now locks on the T C M!! Ford TAPS, Toni wins!!

Winner: Toni Storm, by submission (denies her opponents a title opportunity)

Toni’s Classic Move gets the job done, and Rosa shows respect with the secret handshake and chest bump. The Timeless AEW Women’s Champion is 12-0, but will she be ready for whoever comes out of Arizona as the Queen of Harts?

CRU appears ringside.

As Dynamite returns from break, Lio Rush & Action Andretti decide they want to watch the show in person.

The Hurt Syndicate is here!

Detroit fires up as Montel Vontavious Porter, Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin make their entrance. The fans sing, “We Hurt~ People!” as MVP & the AEW World Tag Team Champions go to the ring. MVP has the mic and says, “Attention AEW viewing audience. This is an official announcement from the Hurt Syndicate. Standing to my right is the Standard of Excellence, Shelton Benjamin. And to my left is the All Mighty, Bobby Lashley. The Hurt Syndicate are the AEW World Tag Team Champions. But I have a question. This is AEW, right? This is where the best wrestle, right? Well, where are all the best tag teams stepping up to challenge us for the tag team championships?

“Who is gonna take the tag team titles off of these two gentlemen? We like to hurt people, but who’s gonna hurt us? I wanna know! Is there anybody that has what it takes to step up and take the titles from the Hurt-” Wait! Top Flight is here! Darius & Dante Martin have mics, and Darius tells MVP, “Look, look, look, look, look. I’ma be real. Top Flight, we’ve been a little down on our luck lately. Which is exactly why we can’t look at this challenge and not see it as an opportunity. Teams like CRU are afraid to step up because you hurt people.” MVP says, “That’s what we do. Would you like to be next?” CRU talks trash even though they’re several rows back…

Darius says that’s fine, they’ve been hurt before. They get up every single time! MVP respects that. Darius says you’re looking at a team that just won’t die! Hurt Syndicate can try their best. And they know they’re the underdogs. They know no one’s gonna put money on them. But guess what? They have proven before that they can get in the ring with championship caliber teams and hold their own. And Dante knows they can do it again. So Motor City! Y’all wanna see a miracle? The fans are torn, but then MJF CLOBBERS DARIUS! And he DECKS Dante! The fans are torn but the Scumbag is ready to show Lashley how he can hurt people!

MJF rains down fists on Darius, stands him up, and POSTS him! MJF drags Dante up, and Dante’s already a bit busted open. MJF throws hands on Dante to work on that wound, then he storms over and BITES Darius’s face!! The fans chant “We Hurt~ People!” as MJF stands Dante up. MJF tells Lashley to look at the blood! MJF reels Dante in, and hits an APRON POWERBOMB! MJF storms up to the apron, blood staining his tank top, and he steps to Lashley. The fans fire up as MVP hands MJF a mic. “I! HURT! PEOPLE!!” The fans cheer that, but Lashley is stoic. Lashley takes the mic from MJF, then looks to MVP.

The fans again sing, “We Hurt~ People!” Lashley sees what MJF has done, and he smiles. “I’ll have an answer for you next week.” The fans boo, but MJF takes what he can get. Will the All Mighty accept the Devil of AEW into the fold?

The Elite speak.

Nicholas Jackson does not appreciate Excalibur cueing them up, and tells the commentary team to have more enthusiasm when you’re pitching to your Founding Fathers! Matthew says they should all have enthusiasm right now because it is a huge night for The Elite! We have the Rainmaker in singles action! Kazuchika Okada tells Kevin Knight that tonight, Okada makes him a b*tch! And of course, their new trios partner, Ricochet. But Matt has to ask, this match was Ricochet’s idea. Why is Ricochet so eager to team with the #YoungBizzles? Ricochet says he knows The Bucks have a little Swerve problem. And Ricochet has already beaten Swerve twice.

That means Ricochet has Swerve’s number! And Ricochet has already beaten “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Mark Briscoe, and so if they just follow his lead tonight, he promises to take them to victory! The Bucks like the sound of that, and they all fist bump. They tell him they’ll see him out there, and Ricochet says, “See you, Bosses!” Ricochet heads out, The Bucks go to their office, but wait! The Death Riders are there…! Is there something The Bucks can help them with? The Bucks step inside, Marina Shafir closes the door. What business will The Maniac AEW World Heavyweight Champion have with the EVPs?

ROH World Television Championship Mystery Opponent: Nick Wayne w/ The Patriarchy VS ???

Right as The Prodigy is about to take off for Japan and the NJPW Best of the Super Juniors tournament, it would seem the “Sins of the Father” will be visited upon him. Someone from Christian Cage’s past wants after this title, but that’s a long list of enemies. Will Nick be able to pass this new test of his faith? Or will he be flying to Japan with much lighter luggage?

AEW returns and the challenger is revealed: IT’S RHINO!! The fans go wild as the manbeast from Michigan is here! The belt is raised, the bell rings, and Detroit is already fired up as Rhino and Nick circle. The two tie up, Rhino SHOVES Nick down, and the fans fire up! Nick bails out and is already frustrated, but Christian coaches him up. Nick goes back into the ring, circles with Rhino, then dodges. Nick kicks low, throws hands, then runs, but Rhino runs him over! The fans fire up as Rhino whips Nick to a corner. Rhino runs up, Nick BOOTS him, then Nick goes up to MISSILE DROPKICK! Nick flexes but the fans boo.

Nick storms up to stomp Rhino in the corner but the ref counts. Nick digs his boots in while the fans rally behind Rhino. The ref has Nick back off, but then Nick clamps on a chinlock. The fans boo but Rhino endures and fights up. The fans rally as Rhino fires body shots, but Nick throws him down by his hair! The ref reprimands but Nick picks out the strands on his fingers. Nick soaks up the heat, then STANDING MOONSAULTS, only to FLOP as Rhino moves! The fans rally and Rhino rises up. Rhino fires haymakers on Nick, then whips and LARIATS Nick down! Nick gets up but Rhino ELBOWS him down!

Rhino whips Nick to a corner, runs in and RAMS him! Then Rhino clinches for a BELLY2BELLY! The fans fire up but Christian is worried. At least, he acts worried. Kip Sabian distracts the ref and Christian goes after Rhino! The fans boo but Rhino avoids being tripped up. Nick runs in, Rhino still hits him with a SPINEBUSTER! Cover, TWO! Nick survives and Rhino is annoyed but the fans rally up. Rhino goes to a corner, takes aim, and Nick rises up. Rhino runs up but is sent into buckles! Nick then chicken wings, KILLSWITCH! Cover, NICK WINS!

Winner: Nick Wayne, by pinfall (still ROH World Television Champion)

Rhino had to deal with distractions and Nick comes out on top! Christian snatches the belt from the ref to personally hand it to Nick, but not without “explaining” he was doing this for Nick’s own good. The fans call BS, especially as Christian lingers with the belt. Nick asks for it back, Christian just drops it on the floor! Will Nick’s time in NJPW for the BOSJ be much needed time away from his jealous father?

Rush speaks.

El Toro Blanco tells Kevin Knight, “You cost me $100,000, and now you owe me that money! And you will pay with blood! Just remember: When you mess with the bull… you get the horns!” Rush has put Knight on notice, but will Knight focus more on earning a golden ticket to the Continental Championship?

Six Man Tag: Ricochet & The Young Bucks VS Swerve Strickland, Mark Briscoe & “Speedball” Mike Bailey!

Well, if we’re talking about being “robbed” of $100,000, then The One & Only knows what that is like when he lost that big money 8 Man a few weeks ago. Ricochet has since then avenged himself of that loss, much like he has with Swerve’s House. But will Ricochet & The EVPs make tonight #OuttaThisWorld? Or will The Most Dangerous Man help the Sussex County Chicken & Speedball be like Swerve’s new track and go #OuttaControl?

The trios sort out and fans cheer on “Whose House?” as Swerve steps up against Ricochet. Ricochet taunts Swerve and his team that he’s got their numbers, but then Swerve points out how The Bucks seem to be inching away. Ricochet turns around and sees that, and asks what they’re doing! The Bucks say Ricochet’s got this, right? Ricochet argues with them, they push him back, and Swerve DECKS Ricochet! And then DECKS him again! And again, and again! Swerve kicks low, fires more hands in the corner, then stomps away! The fans fire up, Swerve HAMMERS Ricochet, but the ref counts.

Swerve lets off of Ricochet, then fireman’s carries for a SNAKE EYES! Swerve runs and BOOTS Ricochet down! Swerve scares The Bucks off, then goes back for Ricochet. Tag to Briscoe and then Briscoe tags Bailey. The Bucks are warry of them, too, and then Swerve has Bailey hop up onto his shoulders in a Chair Lift. Then Swerve THROWS Bailey at Ricochet to RANA! Briscoe adds a SLIDING LARIAT! Bailey covers, TWO! Ricochet stays in this, but Bailey SLAPS him on his bald head! The fans fire up for that! Bailey drags Ricochet up, whips, but Ricochet reverses. Bailey grabs ropes, Nick runs up, but Bailey DECKS him!

Ricochet runs up but into an ELBOW! Matt grabs Bailey’s foot, Bailey kicks free, but Ricochet CLOBBERS Bailey from behind! The fans boo but Swerve runs in! Ricochet gets Swerve for a JAWBREAKER! Ricochet then whips Swerve into a DOUBLE GAMANGIRI from The Bucks! Briscoe runs up but Ricochet KNEES him! The Bucks coordinate, ALLEY-OOP DROPKICK! The fans boo more but Ricochet & The Bucks set everyone up at the ropes! DOUBLE SLINGSHOT SENTONS from The Bucks to Swerve and Briscoe, Ricochet KNEE-BOARD SENTONS Bailey! Then The One & Only poses with The Bucks while the fans boo.

But uh, Swerve’s team stands up! The Elite turn around, see punches coming and run away! The fans fire up but Ricochet & The Bucks huddle up. They talk strategy, go to the apron, but then The Bucks leave Ricochet alone like before. Bailey BOOTS Ricochet and he falls onto The Bucks! The Bucks scramble up to their feet, as does Ricochet, but Bailey SUPERKICKS Ricochet! Swerve’s team all take aim, DOUBLE PLANCHA for The Bucks while Bailey ASAI MOONSAULTS onto Ricochet! The fans are thunderous for all this high flying, and Swerve’s team keeps after The Elite with punches. Briscoe even BITES Matt’s forehead!

The ref reprimands, Bailey puts Ricochet in the ring and whips him corner to corner hard! Tag to Briscoe and he winds up. “This is Awesome!” as Briscoe REDNECK KUNG-FU UPPERCUTS! Ricochet wobbles, Bailey adds a CANADIAN TAE KWAN DO UPPERCUT! They’re very similar. Then Bailey & Briscoe DOUBLE UPPERCUT Ricochet down! The fans fire up more, and Briscoe brings Ricochet around, only for Ricochet to TOSS Briscoe out! Nick PENALTY KICKS Briscoe! Swerve runs up, but Ricochet sends him into a shoulder RAM from Nick! Nick then hits a slingshot FACEBUSTER! And a cartwheel MOONSAULT onto Briscoe!

Ricochet hits a GERMAN SUPLEX on Swerve! Matt intercepts Bailey, ROCKS him, then drags him out along the ropes! Nick goes up, DRPAING DOUBLE STOMP SLINGSHOT BOMB COMBO!! Nick ESCALARAS onto Swerve! Ricochet springboard 450 SPLASHES onto Bailey!! Detroit can’t help but be fired up for all this, and Dynamite goes picture in picture!

The Bucks & Ricochet soak up cheers and jeers, then they focus on Briscoe. They double whip him corner to corner, and Nick runs up to LARIAT! Matt adds his own LARIAT, and then Ricochet adds another LARIAT! Ricochet snapmares Briscoe so they can TRIPLE BASEMENT DROPKICK! Ricochet winds it up, and then just like last time, The Bucks lend Ricochet their hair for the photo op. It doesn’t really work as well this time, it just gives Ricochet a big runway and two long curtains on the side… The Bucks then go to the corner and Ricochet whips Briscoe in. Briscoe hits buckles hard then slumps down.

Matt tags in and he stands Briscoe up. Briscoe fires body shots and backs Matt down, but Matt scoops to BACKBREAKER! Nick tags in and adds the LEG DROP! Nick taunts Briscoe’s team, Ricochet taunts the fans, and Nick drags Briscoe back up. Nick scrapes his soles off Briscoe’s face, then stalks him to a corner. Nick CHOKES Briscoe with a boot, stops as the ref counts, and then whips Briscoe corner to corner. Nick runs in and SHINING WIZARDS! Briscoe sits down but Nick stands him up to reel him in. Nick suplexes, Briscoe slips free, and RUSSIAN LEG SWEEPS! Both men are down and the fans rally up!

Briscoe and Nick crawl, but then Matt BLASTS Swerve & Bailey! Nick tags Ricochet and Ricochet stomps away on Briscoe! Ricochet soaks up heat, then stalks Briscoe to a corner. Briscoe CHOPS him first! And CHOPS him again! Ricochet CLAWS Briscoe’s eyes! The ref reprimands, Ricochet stops, only for Ricochet to CHOKE Briscoe on the ropes! The ref counts and Ricochet stops again while Dynamite returns to single picture. The fans rally but Ricochet reels Briscoe in. Briscoe fights the lift, so Ricochet CLUBS him and KNEES him for it! Ricochet talks trash, runs the ropes, but Briscoe ducks ‘n’ dodges!

Ricochet BACKDROPS Briscoe on return but Briscoe lands on his feet! Briscoe reaches out but Ricochet waistlocks! Briscoe breaks free and PELES Ricochet! The fans fire up as Ricochet falls! Both men crawl, hot tags to Bailey and Matt! Detroit fires up as Speedball BOOTS Matt and fires LIGHTNING KICKS on Nick! ENZIGIRI sends Nick down, then a SOBAT rocks Matt! AX KICK and BUZZSAW! The fans fire up as Bailey takes aim, STANDING SHOOTING STAR! Cover, TWO! Matt stays in this but Bailey stays fired up! Bailey brings Matt up, hits a FALCON ARROW into the drop zone, then he goes up the corner!

Nick hurries over to anchor Bailey but Bailey BOOTS him away! Matt bails out, so Bailey FLYING RANAS Nick onto Matt! The fans fire up as The Bucks both fall down! Bailey puts Matt back in, hurries back up, and the fans cheer “A E DUB!” for making this match happen! Bailey is up top, and he ULTIMATE- NO, he has to bail out as Matt moves! Bailey turns around as Matt runs in, but into a SPANISH FLY! Cover, Ricochet breaks it! The fans boo but Swerve storms in! Ricochet ROCKS Swerve, but Swerve BOOTS Ricochet! Both men block a boot, then they see Briscoe and Nick running in! Both men let the other go so they can each go Matrix!

Swerve and Ricochet each kip up, Ricochet CHOPS Briscoe while Swerve BOOTS Nick! Then Ricochet dodges Swerve to DOUBLE STOMP! Briscoe clinches for an EXPLODER! Then he gives Nick an EXPLODER! The fans fire up but Matt feints the superkick to DDT! But Bailey is up top again, and he MISSILE DROPKICKS Matt! Ricochet STANDING SHOOTING STARS Bailey! But a HOUSE CALL connects on Ricochet! Nick gives Swerve a DESTROYER!! Only for Swerve to go Super Saiyan! HOUSE CALL!! All six men are down and Detroit is electric! Everyone else bails out except Bailey, and he crawls his way to the corner!

The Bucks hurry and they anchor Bailey! Nick then BLASTS Swerve! The Bucks aim at Bailey, but Bailey HEEL KICKS the Superkicks away!! Nick blocks Bailey’s kick, but then Bailey blocks Matt’s kick! Bailey hands Matt’s foot to Nick, Matt goes Matrix to avoid Bailey’s kick! Bailey BOOTS Nick! Then he dodges Matt, hot tag to Swerve! Swerve LARIATS Matt! And UPPERCUTS Nick! Roll and UP KICK for Matt! Then another UPPERCUT for Nick! Swerve snapmares Nick and goes up, FALLING UPPERCUT! Hit that Griddy! Ricochet runs up but Swerve TOSSES him out! More Griddy! HIP TOSS for Matt, then a gator roll!

Swerve suplexes but Nick makes the save! The Bucks reel Swerve in, but Swerve DOUBLE SUPLEXES! Ricochet FLYING- NO! Swerve stops the rana to pop and POWERSLAM! The fans are electric as the Most Dangerous Man stands tall! And he blocks Matt’s superkick to slip around and BACKBREAKER! Briscoe is back, Swerve feeds Matt to his fireman’s carry! ROLLING DEATH VALLEY! Briscoe then whips Bailey in, PENALTY KICK! And MOONSAULT KNEE DROP! Briscoe goes up while Bailey WRECKS Ricochet with a dropkick! FROGGY-BOW for Matt!! Cover, NICK BREAKS IT! Briscoe CHOPS and TOSSES Nick, then goes to the apron!

Winners: Ricochet & The Young Bucks, by pinfall

Swerve is as shocked as anyone! After all the chaos, it was a technical move that ends this! Ricochet brags that he still has Swerve’s number! Will nothing stop The One & Only from being as elite as The Elite? The, THE Elite?

Backstage interview with Will Ospreay.

Renee Paquette is now with The Aerial Assassin to bring up the tag match of Ospreay & Hangman VS Don Callis Family. We saw how tense it was out there earlier tonight, and they’re so close to the Owen Hart Cup finals at Double or Nothing. How will this shake out next week? Ospreay hopes to God that- MJF interrupts… MJF asks “Billy Boy” how he’s doing, but then says it doesn’t matter, he doesn’t really care. MJF just wants to do a shameless plug real quick: Go to ShopAEW.com to get yourself a beautiful replica Dynamite Diamond Ring today! Make him richer while you get poorer! Ospreay asks what MJF even wants.

MJF says, “What I want? Will, what is up with all this hostility, my man? I’m a fan. I came over here simply to tell you I hope you win this whole entire Owen Hart Cup tournament. Truly. And do you wanna know why? I know you’re a little bit slow, so I’ll explain the whole thought process to ya. I want you to go to All In: Texas, and I want you to win my AEW World Championship. So that way, when I wrestle you, I’m gonna get another easy dub. Taking the belt off you will be like taking candy from a lil’ Bri’ish baby.” Ospreay says, “Aww. That’s adorable, mate. Thank you so much. But if it was gonna be that easy, why weren’t you in the Owen Hart Tournament?”

Ospreay says MJF can work hard, right? And he could’ve easily talked with Tony Khan. MJF is in TK’s pocket, right? Oh, right, it’s maybe because there’s some little bit of fear that stepping into the ring with Ospreay again will go down like it did last time: Ospreay picking MJF up, dumping him on his head, and losing power in his arms. MJF chuckles and says okay. Understand something. Ospreay is clearly the reason there are instructions on shampoo bottles. MJF will explain this: MJF hopes they do wrestle again. Because if they do, Ospreay finds out yet again that ain’t nobody on the level of the Devil!

MJF turns to leave, but Ospreay yanks him back in! Ospreay says that’s where MJF is wrong. Ospreay IS on that level, because he is on another level! The Assassin puts the Scumbag on notice, then apologizes to Renee. Will we see MJF and Ospreay go another round somewhere down the line? Or will Hangman throw a wrench into both of their plans?

Sit-down interview with Jamie Hayter.

Dynamite returns as Renee is now with one half of the Women’s Owen Hart Cup Finals. Renee says we’re just two-and-a-half weeks away from Double or Nothing, Hayter VS Mone in that tournament finals. The winner then goes on to All In: Texas for a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship. Renee wants Hayter talk about what this opportunity means to her. Hayter says what this means to her surely means more than what it does to Mercedes, that’s for true. Mone was talking with Renee last week about “Scooby-Doo characters” and her legacy. Pfft! Utter nonsense. Hayter will be damned if Owen Hart’s legacy is represented by Mercedes Mone.

Mone is virtually the antithesis of what Owen stood for! Hayter doesn’t even care about all that, though, because she wants to get to know the real Mercedes Mone. The woman behind the hype. Not the catchphrases, not the brand, not the cheap, egotistical, obnoxious woman that we know today. Renee says regardless of personal feels for Mone, there is no denying what Mone has accomplished throughout her career. Renee notes her talk last week, Mone said Hayter reminded her a lot of Mone. Hayter stifles a laugh and says that’s an insult. They’re not anything alike! Hayter doesn’t claim to be the best or worst, she’s not claiming to be this or that.

Hayter simply reciprocates actions and energy. Mone runs away like she owes Hayter money! Hayter doesn’t have Mone’s resumé, her accolades, her match catalogue or her “star power.” But what Hayter has is integrity, grit, truth, and more of a reason to hurt Mone! This isn’t even about gold or glory now. This is about showing Mone that she is NOT untouchable. Mone cannot just walk around here, do what she wants, say what she wants, like she’s the second coming. Renee does bring up Hayter’s time away with her back injury. Hayter says there’s no need to talk about that. It is irrelevant. She is fine, good to go.

The point is, Mone is looking past Hayter, and that is fine. But then Mone rushes in and attacks! Hayter is ready, and Hayter chases Mone down the hall! So far, it’s going how Hayter said! But will it be that easy for Hayter to punch her ticket to Texas? Or will The CEO find a way to get ahead?

Wait, wait, wait, they’re coming out to ringside! They’re brawling in the special box seats! Hayter CHOKES Mone, but Mone slips away, and safely to the floor! Mone keeps running, Hayter pursues, and they brawl again! Mone still tries to flee, and she KICKS Hayter away! Mone goes to the stage, Hayter pursues, and then Hayter blocks a haymaker! Mone dodges the Hayterade and runs away into the night! Hayter says there she goes, running away again. Hayter stands by the cup, but Mone returns to CLOBBER her! The fans boo as Mone puts on the STATEMENT MAKER!! Mone shouts Hayter will NEVER have what she has!!

Refs rush out here to stop Mone, but Mone only stops once she’s pulled Hayter way back! The fans boo as The CEO now stands by the cup. Will nothing stop the Money Train from railroading Hayter?

Backstage interview with Willow Nightingale.

Alicia Atout is with the Babe with the Power and says the last few months for her have been really busy. It includes some great success, even in Japan. But here in AEW, it seems Willow still has a lot to settle with the Death Riders. Willow says yeah, she does. And luckily, she isn’t alone. The list of people who wanna end the Death Riders just keeps getting longer and longer, and Willow can appreciate that. But she also wants to be the first one to just shove her fist into Marina’s face! A hand reaches out, Willow gets spooked, but it’s Kris Statlander! Kris tells Willow that if Willow doesn’t wanna talk in the back, then they’ll have to have it out on camera.

Willow says she doesn’t think there’s anything that needs to be said. She heard Kris, she gets where Kris is at, and she gets Kris was sorry. So like, what? Kris is now disappointed she lost in The Owen? Last year, Willow could’ve won The Owen, and it’s all because of Kris. Kris doesn’t want Willow going there, but Willow says this conversation is over anyway. Kris goes to leave but then Willow reconsiders. She says if Kris wants to meet in the middle of the ring… Then how about tomorrow night, Thursday Night Collision, here in Detroit, Willow knows a whole bunch of sickos would love to see it! So what does Kris say?

Willow offers a handshake, Kris accepts the handshake, and Kris says if there’s nothing more to be said, then see her there. Kris does leave, and Willow smiles. Will these former besties get out all the tension between them when they go 1v1 on Collision?

AEW Continental Championship Eliminator: Kazuchika Okada VS Kevin Knight!

The Rainmaker told The Jet that he’s going to humble him, but jets are know to still fly through the rain. Will Okada cross another name off the list of contenders? Or will Kevin be feeling #2Flyy as he also prepares for Best of the Super Juniors?

Wait, Rush attacks Knight during his entrance! The fans boo but El Toro Blanco is making good on his warning! Dralistico is also here so La Faccion Ingobernable mugs Dralistico! Security rushes out, Dralistico fires hands on them, and Rush stands Knight up. Rush tells Knight that he said he’d pay! Knight is sent into the steel steps! And then into railing! And then railing again! Security steps in but Rush still CHOKES Knight! But Bailey rushes out here to SUPERKICK Dralistico! Bailey dares Rush to fight him now but Rush shoves Knight down. Rush tells Bailey he’ll be next. LFI falls back, but what about Knight’s opportunity with Okada?

Okada is nonchalant about all this as Knight says no, he doesn’t want to give this up. Bailey helps Knight with his jacket, and Knight manages to roll into the ring, so the match IS on. But now Bailey has to leave ringside per Continental Rules, so he wishes his friend good luck. The bell rings, and Okada runs up to ELBOW Knight! Okada kicks Knight low and hits a DDT! Cover, TWO! Knight is still in this and the fans fire up! Okada is amused, and he drags Knight up to Alabama Lift. Knight sunset flips through, TWO! Okada and Knight stand up and Knight fires a forearm! But Okada DECKS Knight!

Okada whips Knight to ropes, and then FLAPJACKS! Cover, TWO! Knight stays in this and now Okada’s annoyed. Knight goes to a corner but Okada storms up on him. The fans duel as Okada kicks at Knight. Okada drags Knight up, gut wrenches, but Knight fights free! Knight ROCKS Okada with forearm after forearm! Knight UPPERCUTS, the fans fire up, and both men go to corners. Knight runs in but Okada puts him up top! Okada DROPKICKS Knight down to the apron and then Knight falls to the floor! Knight writhes and Okada just waits inside while Dynamite goes picture in picture.

The ref checks Knight but Knight refuses to let this stop the match. Okada goes out after Knight, brings him up, and RAMS him into the railing! Okada laughs at the fans, especially a little girl in the second row. Okada drags Knight up, RAMS him into the railing again, and then laughs at the little girl again! The little girl gets upset and hides behind her mom while Okada goes back to the ring. Okada waits as the ring count climbs. Knight crawls towards ringside at 5 of 10, drags himself up at 7, and rolls in at 8. Okada is right on Knight with a turn and NECKBREAKER! Okada lets Knight writhe a bit before standing over him.

Okada SLAPS Knight! Knight glares up at Okada, but Okada SLAPS him again! Knight rises, Okada SLAPS him again! Knight comes back to CHOP Okada! Okada brushes that off, so Knight CHOPS again! Knight fires a forearm, Okada fires back, and Knight wobbles! Okada ROCKS Knight and puts him in a corner. Okada digs his boot into Knight’s neck, and practically pushes him out of the ring! The ref reprimands but Okada backs off. Knight sputters on the apron, Okada goes back to bring him in, but Knight fires body shots! Okada UPPERCUTS Knight and Knight falls back down! Okada stands Knight up to whip corner to corner.

Knight goes up, up, and FLYING LARIATS! Both men are down and Dynamite returns to single picture. The fans rally for both men as they rise, and Knight roars! Knight runs and SPLASHES Okada in a corner! Knight stomps and UPPERCUTS on repeat! Then Knight stomps a mudhole into Okada! The ref counts, then backs Knight down. The fans boo, but Okada pokes Knight in the eyes! The fans boo more, but Okada whips Knight. Knight reverses to SKY2HIGH! Cover, TWO!! Okada survives and Knight is frustrated. The fans rally, Knight rises again while Okada goes to a corner. Knight runs in, but Okada BOOTS him!

Okada goes up, but Knight jumps up to the UPPER ROOM! The fans fire up as Knight somersaults and UFO SPLASHES! Cover, TWO! Okada stays in this, proof of his championship caliber toughness. But Knight roars, runs up, only for Okada to fight the Satellite DDT into a REVERSE NECKBREAKER! Okada drags Knight up, scoops and SLAMS, then he goes to the corner! Standard formula says MACHO ELBOW! The fans fire up as Okada stands, and Okada winds up the… MIDDLE FINGER~! The fans are torn, and Okada oddly censors his own middle finger for some of the fans. Okada drags Knight up, ripcords, but Knight reels him in for a cradle! TWO!!

Okada is up, Knight has him for a backslide! TWO! Okada is back up, he spins Knight, but Knight hurdles the lariat! Then Knight PELES! Okada falls and the fans fire up again! Knight hurries to a corner and he climbs up! MOTHERSHIP SPLASH onto knees!! Knight sputters as Okada saves himself! Okada grits his teeth, drags Knight up to whip, but Knight avoids the dropkick! Knight runs, but Okada BOOTS him! Both men roar and the fans fire up! Okada UPPERCUTS, whips, but Knight reverses and DROPKICKS! Both men are down again, but Knight still rises! The fans are thunderous as Knight goes to the corner!

Knight springboards in, but into an ANTIAIR DROPKICK!! Ripcord and RAINMAKER!!! Cover, Okada wins!

Winner: Kazuchika Okada, by pinfall (denies Knight a title match)

Give the assist to Rush, but The Rainmaker still gets the job done. Wait, now he drags Knight up for another RAINMAKER!!! The fans boo as Okada shows no mercy! RAINMAKER again!!! And then another ripcord, but Knight falls! And then here comes Bailey! Speedball runs Okada off, but Okada still has a smug smile. Knight has to catch a flight to Japan, but will Bailey make sure Okada pays for his arrogance?

The Don Callis Family speaks.

Don Callis himself says, “The Outrunners tried to challenge RPG Vice? Who do you two idiots think you are? Y’know, I was wrestling in the ’80s, I knew a lot of dirtbags like you! So why don’t you get yourselves a couple of other stupid idiots to be your partner, and you can take on the Don Callis Family, and I will kick your ass all the way back to Tennessee like it’s 1983!!” Wait, did he say he will? Well, will Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd find someone willing to take on

BREAKING NEWS for Collision!

It has been decided that Dax Harwood will take on Daniel Garcia in response to his challenge last week. Will Dax the Ax make good on FTR’s word to make this one hurt? Plus, after the confrontation we saw between them, Bailey will take on Dralistico as payback for what LFI did to Knight! Will Speedball strike out the Prince of Silver? And speaking of baseball terminology, the 5 Tool Player is about to throw some heaters at “Big Shotty” Lee Johnson for stepping to the plate last week. Will Bowens make sure to #MollyWhopp Lee back to the dugout?

BREAKING NEWS for Beach Break!

The Don Callis Family has decided: Konosuke Takeshita & Josh Alexander will take on Hangman Page & Will Ospreay! Can Cowboy and Assassin coexist? Or will the Owen Hart Cup Finalists fall to The Alpha & The Walking Weapon?

Backstage interview with The Hurt Syndicate.

Alicia catches MVP, Lashley & Shelton on their way out, and brings up Lashley telling everyone that we have to wait until next week to find out if MJF is officially getting the thumbs up. Can’t he just let us know now where things stand now? Lashley says he is very protective of the Syndicate, but apparent legal counsel advises him to say no more. The answer will be made public next week. MVP introduces longtime legal counsel to the Hurt Syndicate, Harrison Landow. And well, when he speaks, they listen. See you next week. The Syndicate heads out, but will MJF’s attack on Top Flight have been in vain?

Samoa Joe VS Claudio Castagnoli!

The Samoan Submission Specialist and The Opps have been putting The Death Riders on the defensive, and Joe himself has accused Jon Moxley of no longer having the guts to fight a real fight. Moxley took offense to that remark last week, but he will still let his Swiss Cyborg handle things first. Will Claudio soften Joe up for Moxley and that Steel Cage title match? Or will Joe prove it is the Death Riders who are soft?

The fans already sing, “Joe is gonna kill~ you!” but Claudio takes his time entering the ring. The bell sounds, the fans rally up, and the two circle. They tie up, go around, and Joe powers Claudio back. Claudio turns things around to put Joe in the corner, then he grinds his forearms in. The ref counts, but he has to get in there to back Claudio off. Claudio eggs Joe on, the two circle, and they feel things out. They tie up, Joe powers Claudio back, and they end up on the ropes. The fans rally as Claudio UPPERCUTS and CHOPS, but Joe CHOPS, CHOPS, and CHOPS!

The fans “WOO~” with every CHOP, then Joe whips corner to corner. Joe runs up and ELBOWS! And PELES! Claudio sits down, the fans fire up, and Joe snarls. Joe has Detroit behind him as he hoists Claudio up top. Joe CHOPS again, then tucks Claudio in! Claudio fights that by CLAWING Joe’s eyes! The ref reprimands, Claudio stops, but then Claudio jumps down to HOTSHOT Joe’s arm! Joe falls back, Claudio hurries in, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Joe survives and Claudio is furious, but the ref defends the count.

Claudio pushes Joe back down, runs and DOUBLE STOMPS! Cover, TWO! Claudio is frustrated but this is why Joe is a former AEW World Champion, and why he dethroned the Death Riders as AEW World Trios Champions. Claudio drags Joe back around to DOUBLE STOMP! And DOUBLE STOMP! And DOUBLE STOMP again! Claudio then clamps on with a COBRA CLUTCH! Joe endures and the fans rally up. Joe stands, but Claudio fires knees down low! Joe drops to his knees and Claudio squeezes tighter! Joe still endures but Claudio grinds him down to the mat! The ref checks but Joe is still in this.

Joe rises up, Claudio wrangles him again, but he also smothers Joe! The ref reprimands, Claudio lets go and “apologizes,” mockingly asking for clarification on what was wrong. Claudio then clamps back on with the Cobra Clutch as Dynamite returns to single picture. The fans chant at Claudio, “You Suck!” Joe fights up but Claudio throws knees! Claudio goes back to the Cobra Clutch and thrashes Joe around! Joe endures, the fans rally, and Joe fires hands! But Claudio fires more knees! Claudio runs, but into a SNAP POWERSLAM! Cover, TWO! Claudio staggers, Joe turns him around and reels him in by his tights! COQUINA CLUTCH!!! CLAUDIO TAPS, JOE WINS!!

Winner: Samoa Joe, by submission

The Swiss Cyborg got caught, but here comes reinforcements! Joe dares the Death Riders to make a move, so Wheeler Yuta jumps the barriers! Marina and Moxley follow, they’re flanking the ring! But WILL HOBBS is here! And the Powerhouse is armed with a chair! The fans fire up as The Opps have the numbers and the “MEAT! MEAT! MEAT!” Moxley backs away, but Hobbs tells him, “Watch this!” Claudio stands up, into a CHAIR SHOT! Claudio falls and the fans want “One More Time!” Joe says okay, and Hobbs SMACKS Claudio again! Moxley seethes but he is still standing at the barriers.

Joe sets the chair down, drags Claudio over, and Joe gives Moxley one more chance to do something. Moxley doesn’t move, so Joe hits a FULL METAL GOURD BUSTER!! Joe avenges Hook and Shibata, but will Joe save all of AEW from Moxley’s reign of terror? Or will The Maniac find a way to survive Beach Break in the Windy City?

My Thoughts:

A great episode of Dynamite here, but not without odd choices. CRU continue to be chihuahuas barking at bigger dogs, and then oddly enough, Top Flight kinda do the same thinking they’ll get at Hurt Syndicate for the titles. MJF going after them to “hurt people” made for a fitting move in that moment, but then Lashley making us wait and them bringing in some lawyer for the Syndicate is disappointing. Are they really dragging this out for Double or Nothing? Why not give us the “moment of truth” tonight, then next week has some sort of official “swearing in,” and then we get shenanigans that give us a Double or Nothing match. I feel like TK’s sense of pacing continues to be a problem…

Good promo from FTR and Stokely to call out Schiavone & Nigel as well as Garcia, and Dax VS Garcia will be great stuff. I still sense Adam Copeland returns to join Garcia and settle things with FTR. Good promo from Willow to call out Marina and the Death Riders, and I like the segue back into the Willow-Kris story. They’ll have a great match tomorrow, but I don’t know what’ll happen with it if Willow is to also still feud with Marina. Unless newly released Shayna Baszler shows up to team with Marina, Kris & Willow getting on the same page doesn’t seem likely. Side note, Shayna and Marina should be part of the ROH Women’s Pure Championship tournament.

Great promo from Hangman and Ospreay to open the show, looking back on continuity and even getting a bit meta with the “main character of AEW” stuff thrown around. But of course The Don Callis Family wants after them and all their other enemies. Konosuke & Alexander VS Ospreay & Hangman will be awesome stuff for next week, but I feel like Alexander takes the loss so Ospreay and Hangman both head for Double or Nothing with momentum. Then with Roppongi Vice and I assume Lance Archer facing The Outrunners, I feel like my idea of Brody King teaming with Truth & Turbo is going to become a reality. It just makes sense given Brody had that brawl with Archer last week.

Great promo from Harley and Anna before the Fatal 4, and then a great Fatal 4 match. Ford was a touch off on those pinfall breaks but that was a minor thing. Naturally, Megan got involved, which cued Harley to do the same, and clearly we’ll get Megan & Ford VS Harley & Anna in a great tag match. Toni winning out is fine, but it just seems odd they did this at all. I still hope Athena steps up so we can have Champion VS Champion at Double or Nothing to go double or nothing on titles. And then with how Hayter VS Mone is going, there’s still a chance we can go all in at All In with Mone putting up at least the TBS title against both the AEW & ROH Women’s titles.

But given the great interview promo from Hayter and the obvious ambush from Mone, there’s also still a chance Hayter VS Storm happens as a rematch from long ago. Then Mone and Athena can still go title for title in Texas as TBS Championship VS ROH Women’s World Championship. Very good stuff with that open challenge for the ROH World TV title, and it was great for Rhino to be in his hometown. But naturally, whoever was showing up would be cheated out of the win. Nick Wayne is going to bring that title with him to Japan, I just wonder if he’s bringing The Patriarchy with him. At the very least, Christian should keep AEW viewers up to date with every little win or loss Nick has in the BOSJ like the overbearing and jealous father he is.

Great promo from The Elite & Ricochet to hype up their matches, and what an intriguing move to have The Death Riders meet The Bucks in their office. Though, they didn’t light the scene very well, I only knew it was The Death Riders from Claudio’s bald head and white shirt. And then of course when it was Marina closing the door. But we got an awesome Six Man Tag of Ricochet & Bucks VS Swerve, Briscoe & Bailey. Rather surprising win for the Heels but I suppose that ups the animosity between The Elite and Swerve. Also, good promo from Rush followed by a pretty good ambush on Knight. Okada VS Knight was a great match but I figured Okada would win. Bailey is clearly going to get an eliminator next, and that’ll be awesome, too.

And of course, a great main event of Joe VS Claudio. Great win for Joe, and naturally the Death Riders would rush out there. Great counter with Hobbs showing up, and it works that The Opps “take out” Claudio. With Pac out from an actual injury and then Hook and Shibata kayfabe sidelined from what Death Riders did to them, things are a bit more even now. But even then, Yuta & Marina can still interfere, Hobbs & Willow can still counter, only for Moxley to still somehow win against Joe because I don’t think Beach Break is where a title change this big is going to happen. It still feels like Double or Nothing gives us Anarchy in the Arena 2025, Death Riders making a deal with The Elite to take on The Opps, Swerve, and Kenny Omega, who was conspicuous by his absence tonight.

My Score: 8.8/10
