Brock Lesnar is here!
The Beast is still WWE World Champion after competing at Madison Square Garden last Saturday, but he isn’t happy. That’s because WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns tried to humble him with an attack at the end of the night. The Tribal Chief tried to send a message before their Winner Takes All title unification, and Lesnar is here to respond! Lesnar gets the mic and says, “Roman Reigns! You done changed the rules, boy. Roman, you’ve done changed the game. You see, for the last six days, I drug my ass out of bed, and looked in the mirror. Get a good look at that, Roman.” The mark Roman left on his forehead.
“You don’t draw first blood on Brock Lesnar and live to tell about it.” Lesnar says he is here for blood! It doesn’t matter about WrestleMania or the titles anymore! Lesnar tosses the belt and it almost hits Pat McAfee! Lesnar wants Roman to get his ass out here!! “You done screwed up, Roman! I want your blood, Roman! Roman! Your blood! That’s what I’m here for! Roman Reigns! Get your ass out here!” But instead, “Ladies and gentlemen, stop it down. No booing.” Paul Heyman says let’s cut to a commercial or something so Lesnar can cool off. If Lesnar never wants to listen to Heyman again, listen to him now: “You got bled by the Bloodline. You got smashed by the Tribal Chief.”
Lesnar wants the Universal Champion? The Tribal Chief, Roman… Reigns…!? Well he’s not here this evening. Fans boo and Lesnar is pacing. Heyman says that- “SHUT UP, PAUL!” Lesnar tells Heyman that if what’s coming out of his jowls is true… Heyman says that’s for Lesnar’s protection! But then who’s here for Heyman’s protection? Heyman realizes the error in this plan! Heyman runs and Lesnar chases him down!! They run through the backstage area, and security gets BODIED by the Beast! And tossed! And stomped! Lesnar hurries to the parking lot but Heyman’s van gets him outta there! Lesnar misses out mangling Heyman, but will his rage only grow in the following weeks?
Backstage interview with Ridge Holland & Sheamus.
These two are in a good mood, holding onto the hammers they used to destroy Big E’s ATV. Do they think destroying the ATV will help them tonight? What? No, they improved the ATV! They made it lighter and faster! They make things better around here! Right, Ridge? Right! And tonight, they will get a proper Fight Night! Is that why they still have the hammers? These things? Nah, this is child’s play compared to what they brought along. Someone they’ve both known a very long time. Someone who is deadlier than two hammers put together. Some know him by a certain name, but these two know him as “Butch.” It’s PETE DUNNE!
Pete Dunne already looks fired up, he heads out with the Celtic Warrior and the Northern Grit! Has this duo turned trio only become that much more menacing? Or will it not matter when Big E & Kofi Kingston get their hands on Sheamus & Ridge?
The New Day VS Sheamus & Ridge Holland w/ Pete Dunne!
SmackDown returns and Sheamus’ team makes their entrance. But Big E goes right at Sheamus, then Kofi dropkicks him! Sheamus bails out and regroups with his boys, but he is furious! Ridge cools Sheamus off, fans rally behind the new Day, and Sheamus gets in. Sheamus fires back on Kofi at the bell, then bumps him off buckles, Kofi fires hands in return, Sheamus puts Kofi in the corner. Ridge tags in, they mug Kofi, and Ridge EuroUppers Kofi down. Ridge scoops, Kofi slips out and headlocks. Ridge powers out to run Kofi over! Things speed up, Kofi hurdles and jumps to back elbow! Fans fire up as Ridge gets up.
Ridge goes to back drop but Kofi sunset flips. Ridge stays up to drop a knee! Ridge whips Kofi, Kofi goes up and missile dropkicks! Cover, ONE! Kofi keeps on Ridge, tags to Big E, but Ridge gets away! Sheamus tags in, but Big E goes after him! Sheamus gets up into forearms and Big E fires off in the corner! The ref counts, Big E switches to stomps! The ref has Big E let off, and Sheamus CLOBBERS Big E back! Mule kick and then Sheamus headlocks. Big E powers out, things speed up and Big E hurdles! Big E CLOBBERS Sheamus, but Sheamus goes to the apron. The ref counts, Big E grabs at Sheamus but Sheamus throws hart shots!
Sheamus HOTSHOTS Big E, then hooks him up for Beats of the Bodhrain! Sheamus gives nine, then winds up for TEN! Sheamus climbs up, leaps, but into an OVERHEAD Belly2Belly! Big E covers, ONE! Big E drags Sheamus to the apron, CLUBS him, but Ridge storms over. So Kofi CANNONBALLS Ridge down! Fans fire up and Big E resets, APRON FLOP as Sheamus moves! Ridge gets a sucker punch in, then Sheamus goes out to KNEE Big E down! Sheamus & Ridge fire up as SmackDown goes to break.
SmackDown returns again and Big E brawls with Ridge. Ridge knees low, but runs into a Belly2Belly! Fans rally up as both men are down! Big E and Ridge crawl, hot tags to Sheamus and Kofi! Kofi springboards to AX HANDLE Sheamus, then fires off shots and a dropkick! Sheamus wings, misses, Kofi leaps but misses! Sheamus kicks, Kofi goes up and up and FLYING AX HANDLES! Fans fire up with Kofi and he runs to PENALTY KICK! Kofi fires up more, he runs and “NEW~ DAY~!” BOOM DROP! Fans fire up with Kofi as he claps it up! Ridge gets up but Kofi DECKS him, and catches Sheamus for SOS! Cover, Ridge breaks it!
Big E gets in to throw Ridge out to the apron! Big E then runs, to SPEAR, but lands HARD as Ridge moves! Ridge then gets Big E up, OVERHEAD Belly2Belly! Kofi is distracted, Sheamus rolls him up, TWO!! Sheamus is up, Kofi STOMPS him down! Kofi hurries to go up top, BOOTS Ridge, but Dunne distracts! Sheamus BROGUES Kofi off the top! Cover, Sheamus and team wins!
Winners: Sheamus & Ridge Holland, by pinfall
Medics check Big E, Dunne gets in and fires off forearms on Kofi! Big E is in no shape to help as Dunne stomps away on Kofi! Sheamus gets Dunne to stop, but not for long! Dunne rains down even more forearms! Sheamus and Ridge get “Butch” to stop, but will these three not be stopped until they take over SmackDown?
Backstage interview with Sami Zayn.
Kayla Braxton introduces him as the former Intercontinental Champion and Sami is already upset. He can’t handle this on top of everything else that’s going on. Speaking of, TMZ did release some footage earlier today. Johnny Knoxville says Sami got his personal number and was texting him. So for Knoxville’s birthday, he is flying Sami’s phone number over Los Angeles! “See you at WrestleMania, shnookums.” Sami can’t believe they’d show that here! That’s his phone number! It’s bad enough it’s on Instagram and TMZ! But then how is Sami preparing for his rematch with Ricochet tonight?
Uh, when would he have time for that? He has to literally clear out 10 THOUSAND texts! It stopped counting at 9999 and then just became an exclamation point! But Sami isn’t worried, not at all. Because if there’s one thing he’s learned about himself, it’s that no matter what is thrown at him, he overcomes. Management conspired against him and he still won the title back. So Ricochet is no problem. He’s not that good. No, he was lucky! Right place, right time, and Knoxville got involved! But Knoxville isn’t here tonight, so Sami will steamroll Ricochet and get the title back! Knoxville wants Sami so badly, he’ll get the Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn! Sami will WIN tonight!
Sami storms off, but will he come through on his promise to himself? Or will the One and Only prove he doesn’t need Knoxville to show up to show up Sami?
Six Man Tag: Drew McIntyre & The Viking Raiders VS Happy Corbin, Mad Cap Moss & Jinder Mahal w/ Shanky!
The Scottish Warrior teams up with Erik & Ivar in a big match-up with some common enemies! Will the Claymore lead the raid against the Happy Folks and Modern Day Maharaja? Or will they end up the punchline of another bad joke?
SmackDown returns as Erik & Ivar make their entrance. Or not, Corbin and Moss are attacking them backstage! They throw Ivar into a road case then fire off on Erik! McIntyre storms out of the ring and up the ramp, but then the Happy Folks rush out! Mahal and Shanky get hit with forearms, McIntyre tosses Shanky aside! Then he OVERHEAD Belly2Belly Suplexes Moss! Corbin stops in his tracks, and McIntyre smiles. But then Mahal grabs McIntyre’s leg! Corbin CLBOBERS McIntyre and now it’s 4v1! Fans boo, Mahal and Corbin double whip McIntyre into barriers! And then into a POST!
Mahal and Shanky keep on McIntyre, they put him in the ring, and then the mugging continues! Fans boo but Corbin has them drag McIntyre back up. Corbin wants McIntyre to look him in the eye! “You want it at Mania? You got it! And I’m gonna take your head off!” Moss is laughing it up as Corbin mocks the countdown! But McIntyre gets free! GLASGOW KISS for Moss! And now Corbin runs away! So McIntyre LARIATS Moss! OVERHEAD Belly2Belly Suplexes Mahal, and MICHINOKU DRIVERS Shanky! McIntyre kips up, Alabama is going nuts! McIntyre gets his sword out! He points to the Mania sign with it, is McIntyre going to take Corbin’s head?
Ronda Rousey heads to the ring!
The Baddest Woman on the Planet is back again, after getting the best of The Queen last week. Ronda isn’t a one trick pony, and she’s got lots to say, after the break.
SmackDown returns and Ronda has the mic to say, “We are less than one month away from one of the biggest matches in my career against Charlotte Flair on WrestleMania Saturday. But just last week, Charlotte revealed her grappling ignorance when she called me a one trick pony that can only win with an armbar, which is like calling Mike Tyson a one trick pony cuz he only wins by punching people.” Fans cheer for “Ronda! Ronda!” and she says where Charlotte sees one armbar, Ronda sees thousands of ways to get there. And Ronda’s always looking for ways to improve.
These last couple of years, Ronda has been doing far more than making babies and raising cows. She mastered the Ankle Lock thanks to her first mentor in this ring, Kurt Angle. Fans cheer for that, and Ronda says she can think of no better way to thank Kurt than to tap Charlotte out with that hold at WrestleMania. But speaking of, here comes Charlotte! The SmackDown Women’s Champion struts to the ring, gets herself a mic, and tells Ronda, “Correction. Our match at WrestleMania will be the biggest fight of your life. And let’s set the record straight. You didn’t tap me out last week, I had five inch heels on and a$2000 suit.”
They weren’t competing, Ronda took advantage. If Charlotte was Ronda, she’d be less worried about honoring her mentor and more about winning where it matters. Like WrestleMania, the Grandest Stage. And Charlotte guarantees, Ronda won’t tap her out. Uh, Ronda already did that, and she knows she will again. Fans chant, “You Tapped Out!” but Charlotte mocks them, “I can’t hear you.” They think this is funny, huh? Ronda needs to wipe that smile off her face. There is nothing funny about facing Charlotte at Mania. Charlotte gets it, Ronda is an impressive fighter. But there is a reason Charlotte is the most decorated woman in WWE History!
And she still only sees a one trick pony. It doesn’t matter she has a new Ankle Lock! Charlotte will embarrass and humiliate Ronda, and by the end of the night, Charlotte will make Ronda tap out! Oh really? Ronda would love to see that. And Charlotte can have time to take off her shoes. Charlotte laughs that off, has someone hold the ropes for her, and takes her exit. “Uh oh… Uh oh…!” Charlotte mocks the fans booing and jeering as she walks down the steps, and Charlotte says she is still SmackDown Women’s Champion. Ronda says Charlotte can walk away now. But at Mania, she can’t walk away. So Ronda is either going home with an arm, or Charlotte taps out.
Will Ronda make Charlotte give up one way or another? Or will the Queen find a way to keep her throne?
The Toyota Tundra road trip continues!
They go to the coast, Shinsuke Nakamura teaches Rick Boogs how to surf. It’s not that easy, though. The automatic tailgate makes things a bit easier, and then they get right in the waves. Don’t expect to get up on the first try, which is true. But it still went smoother than Boogs thought. He got up a few times, though the cameras probably missed it. Nakamura says that is impressive, he didn’t get up on his first try. They’re gonna keep on cruising, where will the road trip take them next?
Sasha Banks & Naomi VS Shayna Baszler & Natalya!
Team BAD is going for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, but we all saw on Monday that Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan won their way into that match! Will the Queen of Spades & Queen of Harts make their case to join the Triple Threat? Or will it be #BOSSTIME when Baszler & Natty #FeelTheGlow?
SmackDown returns and Natty tags Shayna and Sasha tags Naomi. Naomi slides under the kick, she hits Shayna then DECKS Natty, and we see the champions are ringside to watch. Naomi goes for a bulldog but is denied. Shayna blocks a kick to have a standing toehold! Natty tags in, DRAGON SCREW to split the wishbone! Natty then adds a basement dropkick, covers, TWO! Mella is too busy looking at herself in the reflection of her title, but Natty scoops for a MICHINOKU DRIVER! Cover, TWO! Natty drags Naomi by her hair, tags Shayna in, and then throws Naomi down. Shayna has the leg to isolate the foot, and she lets her hair down before she STOMPS the ankle!
Shayna drags Naomi into a HEEL HOOK! Naomi endures, reaches out, drags herself and Shayna over, and then Naomi kicks free! Shayna gets Naomi to whip her into a corner! Shayna runs in but into boots and an ENZIGURI! Naomi hurries but her leg is bothering her. Hot tags to Natty and Sasha! Fans fire up as Sasha KNEES Natty, goes up top, and METEORAS! Sasha fires up and the fans are with her as she wheelbarrows, but Natty and Shayna get her! Only for Sasha to throw them both out of the ring! Sasha then slides, headscissors Natty into Mella and Vega! Sasha taunts the champs before she puts Natty in.
Naomi LEAPS to take out Shayna! Vega storms up to distract Sasha, Sasha turns around into a DISCUS! Cover, TWO! Sasha is still in this but Mella distracts now. Natty get Sasha up, whips her, but Sasha reverse and Natty hits Vega! CODE BREAKER for Natty! Cover, Sasha & Naomi win!
Winners: Sasha Banks & Naomi, by pinfall
The champions tried to screw over their challengers, but only screwed things up for the Queen of Spades & Queen of Harts! Will things all fall apart for the Most Beautiful Woman in the WWE and the Queen of the Ring?
The Usos are here!
While the Tribal Chief is staying away, Jimmy & Jey are here in Alabama on behalf of the Bloodline. They’re going to “unlock the penitentiary” and name their WrestleMania opponents, after the break.
SmackDown returns and Jey says this is Friday Night SmackDown, and the Bloodline is now in your city! 236 days as SmackDown Tag Team Champions! Almost a year! Roman is 557 days as Universal Champion, almost two years! But there are literally no worthy opponents for WrestleMania. Why, Uce? Cuz they the twos, and #WeTheOnes! But here come Nakamura & Boogs! Boogs gets some call and response as he introduces himself and the King of Strong Style. They are the NEXT SmackDown Tag Team ChampiOOOOOONS~! Hold up. Hold up. Hold on. Jimmy says these two want The Ones at Mania? The Usos?
Boogs struggles to get into the ring with his wrapped up leg, which is a result of the ambush by the Usos last week. Jimmy and Jey tell “Peg Leg Pete,” that tonight, if they can beat the Right Hand Man, Jey, 1v1, then they can have the title shot. Let’s get a ref out here and do this!
Rick Boogs w/ Shinsuke Nakamura VS Jey Uso w/ Jimmy Uso!
The ref arrives, the bell rings and it’s on! Jey goes right at the bad leg! Boogs holds ropes, the ref counts and Jey lets off at 4. Jey talks trash on the bad leg, but Boogs unwraps the leg! It was all a fake-out! Boogs is 100% and air guitaring! They circle, Jey dodges but Boogs catches him for a bearhug, to suplex! And stalling! Boogs squats, then SLAMS Jey down! Fans fire up with Boogs and he trophy lifts Jey! Boogs does some lifts, fans count along, and Boogs goes all the way to TEN before the TOSS! Jimmy distracts, Nakamura yanks him down! Jimmy avoids the roundhouse and SUPERKICKS Nakamura down!
Boogs grabs Jimmy and drags him up! Boogs DECKS Jimmy, but Jey rolls him up! TWO!! SUPER0 NO! Boogs blocks, spins Jey and wrenches him, to a pump handle and scoop! BOOGS CRUISE! Cover, Boogs wins!!
Winner: Rick Boogs; Boogs & Nakamura are NEW #1 contenders to the SmackDown Tag Team Championships
Jimmy CLOBBERS Boogs with his own guitar!! Boogs & Nakamura will get their title match, but will that shoulder be okay in time?
WWE Intercontinental Championship: Ricochet VS Sami Zayn!
The One and Only only just got this title last week, but he’s more than willing to defend it against Sami! Will Ricochet prove to the “Master Strategist” that the title is with the rightful owner? Or will the Great Liberator “liberate” the title from the King of Flight?
SmackDown returns as Ricochet makes his entrance. But then Austin Theory shows up? Pat McAfee is in a bad mood, given Theory got in his face and slapped him! And now he’s going to join commentary! The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and it’s time to run it back!
Theory talks more trash on Pat, and SLAPS him again! Pat leaps the table and tackles Theory! Pat fires off, Theory gets up and throws hands but Pat SMACKS him off the desk! And again! And then throws him OVER the desk! Fans are loving this as Pat JUMPS on Theory again! Theory hurries away and Michael Cole tries to cool Pat off. Security rushes out to keep Theory from coming back, and fans are on Pat’s side with this one! Pat goes up to the ramp as Theory is leaving, but it seems security is also escorting Pat out of the building! Theory tries to get at Pat again, but security is right on him! SmackDown takes a break, will things cool off for the title match?
SmackDown returns and now the match begins! Sami swings but Ricochet dodges to KICK, and then dodges to KICK again! Sami goes to the corner, Ricochet eggs him on, and the two circle. They feel out the grapple, knuckle lock, but Sami kicks low. Sami headlocks, grinds Ricochet down, but Ricochet fights up. Ricochet throws body shots, powers out, things speed up and Ricochet hurdles to then roll off Sami’s back. Ricochet rolls under, handsprings and headscissors, then dropkicks Sami down! Fans fire up while Sami gets up, and Ricochet CHOPS him! Ricochet EuroUppers Sami to a corner then CHOPS him again!
Ricochet keeps on Sami with haymakers, whips him to ropes, but Sami bails out before the kick! Ricochet hurries over and gets Sami by his hair! Sami HOTSHOTS Ricochet away! Sami then gets in, things speed up again, and Sami catches the hurdle for a POWERBOMB! Cover, TWO! Sami grows annoyed, he slaps Ricochet and rains down fists! Sami gives Ricochet kicks, tells Ricochet that this is his title, and he ROCKS Ricochet with a haymaker. Sami whips Ricochet and CLOBBERS him! Cover, TWO! Sami clamps on with a chinlock, trapping an arm. Ricochet endures, fans rally up, and Ricochet fights up.
Ricochet throws body shots but Sami swings back. Ricochet counter punches, KICKS, CHOPS, and CHOPS again! Ricochet CHOPS more, then whips. Sami reverses, Ricochet RANAS! Sami goes to a corner, Ricochet runs in but is put on the apron. Ricochet ROCKS Sami again, springboards and FLYING LARIATS! Fans fire up with Ricochet and he aims at Sami. Ricochet runs in corner to corner, but Sami denies Recoil! Sami elbows back from the corner, runs in, but into a fireman’s carry! FALLING PELE! Ricochet goes up fast, fans fire up, but Sami gets up to SHOVE Ricochet down! Ricochet hits barriers and Sami smiles as SmackDown goes to break!
SmackDown returns again and Sami reels Ricochet in! Ricochet fights the Blue Thunder Bomb with elbow after elbow after elbow! Ricochet then spins Sami, trips him, and STANDING MOONSAULT onto knees! Cover, TWO! Sami is getting frustrated but he gets Ricochet back up. Sami CLUBS Ricochet on the back, reels him in, but Ricochet slips out of the back suplex! They switch waistlocks, Sami elbows away on Ricochet in return for just a moment ago! Sami then reels Ricochet in, suplexes, but Ricochet RANAS again! Cover, TWO!!! Sami escapes what got him last week! Ricochet and Sami are both down but fans rally up.
Ricochet and Sami get up, forehead to forehead. Sami fires haymakers, Ricochet throws them back! They then shift to EuroUppers, Ricochet SUPERKICKS! Sami staggers, Ricochet fireman’s carries! Sami elbows free and they’re in corners. Sami runs corner to corner, but into Ricochet’s boots! Ricochet handsprings, but into a BLUE THUNDER BOMB! Cover, TWO!! Ricochet survives and Sami is tiredly frustrated. Sami drags Ricochet up, pushes him to the corner then throws haymakers. Sami hoists Ricochet up top, climbs up top to join him, but Ricochet fights him off! Ricochet fires boxing elbows and he CHOPS Sami down to the mat!
Ricochet gets up, but Sami springs up to trip him again! Sami goes up top, brings Ricochet with him for a SUPER EXPLODER! Both men are down and fans are fired up! Sami waits on Ricochet to get up, and then he runs corner to corner, but into a RECOIL!! Ricochet hurries to put Sami in the drop zone and heads up top! Ricochet aims for the 630 SENTON!! Cover, Ricochet wins!
Winner: Ricochet, by pinfall (still WWE Intercontinental Champion)
The One and Only is STILL the champion! Sami won’t bring the title to WrestleMania, will he take all his frustrations out on Knoxville? As for Ricochet, who will he look to invite to the most stupendous WrestleMania ever to fight for this title?
Wait! There’s a backstage brawl!
It’s Ronda and Charlotte! Charlotte got dressed, and she whips Ronda into her car! Security rushes in to break this up but Charlotte gets shots in on Ronda! Ronda throws security into Charlotte! The brawling keeps going, the security keeps trying! Charlotte runs into a BOOT that sends her into wood boards! But she’s right up to BOOT Ronda! And throw her into the car! The security gets roughed up again, Charlotte CLOBBERS Ronda onto the hood! Then Charlotte scoops to EXPLODER Ronda onto the car hood!
Charlotte still isn’t done! She gets on the car hood and on top of Ronda to pull her back into a deep Camel Clutch! And she even digs her fingers into Ronda’s mouth! Charlotte changes it to a sleeper as she bends Ronda back more, but security gets her to finally let go! Charlotte tells them not to touch her, and then she SLAMS Ronda’s head onto the hood! Ronda flops off to the ground, but she’s furiously pushing herself back up! Will Ronda’s wrath hunt Charlotte down as the Road to WrestleMania enters the homestretch?
My Thoughts:
I would’ve said this was a really good SmackDown, but there were unfortunately some glaring issues tonight. And I’m not even talking the newest in disappointingly short women’s tag matches. Firstly, Big E ends up with a broken neck after that overhead toss from Ridge Holland. Ridge has usually been pretty good about his physicality but perhaps things were too amped up and hectic during that segment. Big E already tweeted a video to show that he is still able to move his extremities, so that is a good sign, but this really sidetracks everything they were planning for The New Day and Sheamus’ growing stable.
Speaking of which, that is the OTHER glaringly bad spot from tonight. Pete Dunne being saddled with the name “Butch” is without a doubt THE DUMBEST THING Vince McMahon has done to an NXT call-up. Just call him Pete Dunne! People can understand the name “Pete Dunne,” they can cheer on the name “Pete Dunne,” they can use GOOGLE to figure out who Pete Dunne is if they really want to, but NO ONE is going to accept “Butch.” There are not enough insults I could hurl at Vince McMahon to match the level of what this is. Vince should just come out and say he hates NXT and the HHH Guys, it’s the only real explanation!
Moving aside from the infuriating developments, Lesnar being all fired up and going after Heyman was great stuff. Heyman of course gets away, Lesnar will have to wait until next week to get at Roman, but I don’t think any of this changes that Roman wins at WrestleMania. The Six Man becoming a No Contest with the brawling was a bit of a wash. They could’ve had the Heels win somehow and then brawling after, but either way, McIntyre was going to stand tall for himself going into his match with Corbin. As for the Viking Raiders, they’re just settling back down into the lower midcard after losing to the Usos.
The Usos had a good segment with Boogs & Nakamura, and I really like that Boogs tricked the Usos with that wrapped leg. Boogs wins a bit easy for me, but then Jimmy evens out the math with that guitar attack. I feel like that match is going to go either way, since WWE loves Boogs, and the build should be a lot of fun. Already touched on the short women’s tag match tonight, but I do appreciate that we’re seeing Natty and Baszler team up. I’ve been wanting those two to team up since Shayna was teaming with Nia Jax and Natty was teaming with Tamina. It’s happening, and I am torn on whether the women’s tag title match should go from Triple Threat to Fatal 4 Way or not.
We got a great promo from Sami, and wow, I wonder if that really is Sami’s number that Knoxville gave to the world. Probably not, it’s probably for kayfabe. But either way, Knoxville is egging Sami on, their match is going to be a lot of fun. Sami VS Ricochet here was great stuff, but it’s natural for Ricochet to win. This title does deserve some big things for WrestleMania, Ricochet deserves big things, too, this will be a great relationship between champion and championship. And let’s not forget Pat going after Theory. That was a great follow-up from last week, and while Michael Cole was saying there might be repercussions, I hope kayfabe Vince chooses to let it slide because it toughens Theory up, too.
And then, we got a very good couple of segments from Charlotte and Ronda. They did good with the promo, though Ronda seemed to be talking fast to me. Then that brawl to close the night was really good, and a good callback of sorts to when it was Charlotte, Ronda and Becky brawled before WrestleMania 35. At this point, the SmackDown Women’s Championship match could go either way, but it’s starting to lean towards Ronda.
My Score: 8.2/10

Results:
The Rascalz vs Fir$t Cla$$ vs Laredo vs The System
Octagon got jumped by The System earlier so Laredo is fighting alone. Another backstage jumping is getting a little dumb.
Laredo and Trey start. Typical Indie start with Simultaneous awful Dropkick spot and bad counters, AJ blind tag runs the smaller guys over, tags out to KC and the Rascalz instantly get the moment. KC is rocked, tags in Laredo and Laredo takes out the System before Lish gets on the apron and grabs Laredo. The referee kicks out Lish and Rehwoldt on commentary points out it’s a No DQ match so that’s dumb.
KC gets tossed at AJ, he catches him, Rascalz Dive and do their taunt as we go to commercial. We come back, Tennessee Whiskey into a KC tag in for the near fall on Laredo. Corner combo, Snapmare into Flip Forward Neck Breaker, KC is on a roll. AJ tags Laredo and starts talking crap to KC, they swerve and go Finger Poke of Doom, but it’s not a legal pin. Suddenly tornado attacks, System and Rascalz go for broke, AJ hits the Senton to break the eventual pin, Laredo counters AJ’s Chokeslam attempt. Trey clears out The System, Wentz sends himself and KC over and out, Laredo with a Corkscrew Moonsault, which looked cool but it’s the pile of morons waiting to get hit spot.
AJ hits the Down Payment on Laredo, but Trey blind tagged AJ. Meteora on AJ, Trey pins Laredo and Rascalz win.
Raj Singh vs Mustafa Ali
Raj looks like shit in the gear he came down in…and he wrestles equivalently. I would rather anyone else comeback…give me Anarquia.
Ali murders Raj, Instant Dropkick, Rolling Neckbreaker, Corkscrew Standing Moonsault, it’s not close. Raj tries to counter things but Ali Bellclap, a little Duck the left, connect the right. Raj even does a terrible looking Punch Combo, he’s in bad shape, a bad looking Ushigoroshi, Raj with a sloppy looking something, 450 ends it.
Fire Raj as quickly as you brought him back. You don’t need a comedically pathetic job guy when the roster is like 4 guys getting pushed and everyone else sucks. Stop being stupid. Ali still hates women too.
This Injury Report is the dumbest segment in the history of wrestling. Stop treating fake shit as “serious business”.
ASH by Elegance vs Lei Ying Lee
ASH mocks karate stuff, Lei throws a few Rising Crane kicks as ASH bails and then things slow down a little. But a Pump Kick, Sliding Kick and Low Dropkick cause ASH to cower and claim her tooth broke. It’s a bait to pull Lei into the turnbuckles and them get in a few stomps. Ash keeps Lei in the corner, Suplexes her ankles into the buckles and then Ash throws a few Booty Shots/Hit Attacks then starts a grounded stretch, Lei Headscissors her down, still sells the hips and ankles, but dodges and fires, combination strikes into the 10 Count Down Strikes. T-bone Suplex, into the pinfall, for only two.
Cheapshot into Running Meteora from ASH for two. Ash goes for the Miz Yes Kicks and Lei No Sells and asks for more. Gorgeous Capture Suplex into Thunder Struck and TKO with flair. My baby has a better finish now! Yay!
Mance Warner w/SDL vs Jobber
Hannifan cursing and being pissed at Trick for not even showing but is more entertaining than a squash match. Not that Mance’s offense is bad, but 2 out of 3 job matches is stupid.
.@milanmiracle and @AriannaGraceWWE make history as the first father/daughter tag team in TNA!

Santino Marella & Arianna Grace vs Robert Stone & Victoria Crawford w/Tessa
Marella tries to tie up with Robbie, but he bails and tags out to Victoria so Arianna comes in and aside from Alicia Fox’s silliness, the tie up was decent with Arianna and Victoria. Tessa interferes and the Referee throws her out. Victoria comes back in and aside from a slight miscommunication with how Arianna does her punches, Alicia Fox is making her look…pretty good. Transition moves, okay brawling and Arianna looks amazing in her outfit.
Rob and Santino distract the referee and Victoria hits a Figure Four into her Northern Lights Suplex, only for 2. Arianna finally Back Body Drop to find the tag, Santino and Rob, Santino does his split dodge into the Standing Headbutt, Arianna Cross Body onto Victoria. Rob pulls out the ref, then shoves the ref into Santino, Santino into the steps and Arianna attack but Alicia and Lish, the fix is in, Arianna eats the pin.
International Championship: Steve Maclin (c) vs Matt Cardona
A few quick brawl moves, Shoulder Tackles, Strikes, Back Breakers, Cardona does get dumped out and eats a SCUD. Maclin bounces Cardona’s face off the apron and hits an Elbow off the apron to keep Cardona reeling, but a dodged tackle sends Maclin into the steps. Cardona tries to Piledriver Maclin on the ramp, but Back Drop counter, into commercial.
Formulaic commercial etiquette of Cardona still in control, throws Maclin into the ropes, Diving Shoulder Tackle lays both dudes out and they get up by 8. Fighting Spirit spot, Cardona hits ropes and gets hit by Maclin twice, Thesz Press, Ground and Pound, Back Elbow and Olympic Slam has Maclin rolling. Splash into Lariat for two. Maclin has been all gas no brakes. Cardona tries to take a few shortcuts that turns into a Straight Jacket Takedown. Cardona to the top, Maclin cuts him off, Superplex spot. 1-2-kick out!
Maclin goes topside for a Jar Headbutt, Cardona hits the ropes so Maclin crashes into the corner, 2 Reboots connect, the third gets caught, counter into Busaiku Knee, Jar Headbutt. In and out, Cardona uses the middle rope for the Low Blow, Killswitch from Cardona but Maclin kicks out. Cardona dodges and shoves Maclin towards the ref, he puts the brakes on, Radio Silence! 1-2-Kick out! Maclin catches a top rope move, Power Bomb, Corner Splash, Tree of Woe, Caught in the Crosshairs, KIA and Maclin retains!
Overall Score: 4.5/10
Boring paint by numbers show, no Trick, System has one move, Robert Stone is a scumbag, too long to introduce new girls, lots of throw away segments and Rosemary sets up YET ANOTHER Monster’s Ball match. These aren’t interesting when there’s one every 3 months. So we can have terrible Monster’s Ball matches quarterly, Barbed Wire Massacre and Clockwork Orange House of Fun…BUT NO LOCKDOWN!?
Go home TNA, you’re drunk.

The Bone Soldier fails, and now Desperado is NOT going to the finals! Desperado will now be on the outside looking in, waiting for his next challenger.
Speaking of which, Kosei Fujita now makes his way out here to be face to face with Yoh. Yoh holds the ropes open for Fujita to step into the ring. Fujita and Yoh get face to face, and Fujita points at the tag title on Yoh’s shoulder, because he also wants that belt. Yoh knows, since he and Wato took it from Fujita & Eagles. But Yoh dismisses Fujita, they’ll meet again on June 1st. Yoh then takes up the mic to tell Fujita, “Ya bastard… I’ll show you true chaos! Now, just one more win. In Ota, the best wind will blow.” Yoh drops the mic to leave it at that. Will that wind be the winds of change? Or will Yoh fail to bring down The Mighty Japanese Young Punk?
Here are the FINAL B Block standings!
YOH: 6-3, 12 points [FINALIST]
El Desperado: 6-3, 12 points [ELIMINATED]
MAO: 6-3, 12 points [ELIMINATED]
Taiji Ishimori: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
Robbie Eagles: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
SHO: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
Nick Wayne: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
Kevin Knight: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
Titan: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
Ryusuke Taguchi: 3-6, 6 points [ELIMINATED]
My Thoughts:
A great night to wrap round nine and therefore the round robin portion. No repeat BOSJ finalists, which is actually great because now we’ve got a fresh match-up. Taguchi VS Knight was still a great match for not affecting outcomes, and Knight gets to return to AEW with a win. The flipside is Titan gets a win over Nick Wayne, I really do think it books itself, Nick VS Titan for the ROH World TV Championship on Grand Slam: Mexico. Christian Cage can even be condescending to Nick over how Nick didn’t make it to the finals, adding to that feud. Nick can beat Titan in the rematch, then get in Christian’s face to make a match for All In: Texas, or at least Supercard of Honor where ROH titles should be showing up anyway.
Great stuff with Mao and his team against Sho and the House of Torture. I was pleasantly surprised that Mao won, and I wonder if the House of Torture goes to a DDT Pro show to battle it out with Strange Love Connection. Mao winning also added great drama to the remaining matches, Despy VS Eagles was awesome stuff, probably the actual best match of the night. Yoh VS Taiji wasn’t quite as hot going by the crowd, but Yoh getting the win to shut the door on Despy was good. Yoh VS Fujita will be great, a bit hard to call, but that makes it fun.
My Score: 9/10
