The introductions are made, the IWGP belt is raised, and we see if the numbers spell disaster for Mone at Sakura Genesis!
The bell rings and fans rally up already. The three ladies circle, Mone wary of both opponents. Hazuki & AZM both approach Mone but she stands her ground. They triple knuckle lock, but then Mone kicks Hazuki and AZM! She reels them both in for headlocks! But they throw body shots, double whip, and both drop. Mone hops over each of them, is sent through, but then stops herself by holding ropes. Mone BOOTS AZM, arm-drags Hazuki, but AZM keeps moving to springboard arm-drag Mone! AZM keeps it going to a cover but Hazuki pushes them both over, only for Mone to roll Hazuki! TWO and AZM rolls Mone, TWO! Fans fire up as all three ladies stand off!
Mone, Hazuki and AZM catch their breaths and circle again. Hazuki and AZM shake hands, then offer to Mone. Fans applaud, Mone ignores Hazuki to offer to AZM, but AZM says she’s not “A Z M.” She’s A-ZU-MI! Mone gets it right, and shakes hands with Azumi! Then they both kick Hazuki low! Mone & AZM double whip but Hazuki crisscrosses them into each other! Hazuki runs into double hip tosses but bounces off the ropes to DOUBLE ARM-DRAG! Fans fire up, Hazuki DOUBLE SHOTGUNS! AZM goes to the apron, Hazuki stands on Mone at the ropes. Hazuki boots, boots and boots, then BOOT WASHES!
Fans fire up with Hazuki and she brings Mone up. Hazuki full nelson SLAMS Mone, to then SENTON! Cover, TWO! Fans rally for “HA-ZU-KI!’ as she brings Mone up. Hazuki suplexes, AZM runs in, but Mone BOOTS AZM and slips around Hazuki to Gory Especial. AZM returns, Hazuki BOOTS her now, and Hazuki slips free. Mone reels her in, Hazuk blocks the suplex, but then Mone blocks! They fight for control, Mone trips Hazuki to a jackknife bridge, but AZM DOUBLE STOMPS it apart! Fans fire up and AZM brings Hazuki up. Hazuki breaks free, but AZM ducks the kick! Hazuki also ducks a kick, jumps the sweep, and she rolls AZM.
Hazuki whips, AZM reverses but Hazuki uses that to DIVE onto Mone! Fans fire up with Hazuki, she CLUBS Mone down, but AZM is taking aim now! AZM goes up and up and SUPER CROSSBODIES! She wipes out Mone, Hazuki and even the Young Lionesses! Fans are thunderous for “A-ZU-MI!” as she puts Hazuki in. AZM kicks Hazuki to a drop zone, goes up the corner, and fans rally again. AZM DIVING DOUBLE STOMPS!! Cover, TWO!! Hazuki survives but AZM keeps her focus. AZM drags Hazuki up, runs, but Hazuki slips free of the tilt-o-whirl to a SLEEPER! AZM fights around, but she sits down!
Hazuki leans on AZM, but Mone is back to METEORA them both! And she puts on a DOUBLE BANK STATEMENT! Hazuki and AZM endure, AZM slips free, and she puts Mone in a CROSSFACE! But then so does Hazuki! Mone endures DOUBLE CROSSFACES, but who would get credit?! Mone pries at the holds, she BITES fingers!! Both Hazuki and AZM let go, and Mone hits DOUBLE BULLDOGS! AZM and Hazuki go to opposite corners, Mone runs in to DOUBLE KNEE Hazuki! And then she runs corner to corner to DOUBLE KNEE AZM! Then back again, METEORA for Hazuki! METEORA for AZM!
Mone goes side to side to BOOT WASH AZM! Then Mone goes around the world to BOOT WASH Hazuki! Fans fire up for Mone and she goes up the corner. Hazuki gets under Mone’s leap, but AZM runs in! Mone slips around to Gory Especial! But Hazuki runs in, CODE BREAKER on Mone! AZM sunset flips, but Hazuki breaks it!! Fans fire up, AZM shouts at Hazuki! Hazuki stands, AZM runs in, but into a takedown! CROSSFACE!! Hazuki pushes back, AZM fights around, but she’s caught! Fans rally and duel, “A-ZU-MI!” “HA-ZU-KI!” AZM scrambles around, Hazuki rolls her back, but AZM slips out to the FUJIWARA!
AZM shifts, NUMERO UNO!! But Mone barrels into her! They roll, and AZM gets Mone into the RINGS OF SATURN!! But Hazuki tackles AZM! They both stand, AZM runs and tilt-o-whirls on Hazuki to transfer to Mone for LA MISTICA!! Hazuki runs in, AZM drop toeholds her onto Mone! DOUBLE FUJIWARA!! And then, DOUBLE NUMERO UNO!!! But both Hazuki and Mone roll back, TWO!!! Fans fire up and AZM stomps away on Mone and Hazuki! AZM goes up the corner and fans rally again. But Mone and Hazuki both go after her! They climb up, fans fire up, but AZM fights them off!
AZM pushes Mone back, she ends up in the ropes! AZM does the same to Hazuki, she’s also in the ropes! AZM stands up, but Hazuki trips her up! Mone gets out of the Tree of Woe while Hazuki climbs back up. Hazuki HEADBUTTS AZM! But Mone adds on! TOWER OF DOOM!! Fans are thunderous for the Sunset Bomb Superplex! The fans rally while all three women are down. They all approach center, Hazuki CLUBS Mone but AZM CLUBS Hazuki. Both Hauzki and Mone ROCK AZM! Then Hazuki ROCKS Mone! AZM ROCKS Mone! Mone ROCKS Hazuki! Hazuki and Mone brawl as they stand up!
Hazuki gets the edge, but Mone spins her to a BACKSTABBER! AZM runs in, but also into a BACKSTABBER! Mone goes to a corner, goes up, and fans fire up for the METEORA! Cover, TWO!!! AZM survives and shocks Mone! Mone refocuses, takes off her armband, and says she’s gonna finish this! Mone brings AZM up, BACKSTABBER, but AZM rolls through to DOUBLE STOMP! And then AZM SUSHI! Cover, TWO!! Mone stands, ROCKS AZM, but AZM ROCKS Mone! They brawl, forearm for forearm, and fans fire up! But Hazuki springboards in to DOUBLE MISSLE DROPKICK! Fans fire up and Hazuki BOOTS Mone! Cover, TWO!!!
Hazuki snarls and she drags Mone back up! Mone ROCKS Hazuki! Mone fires off shots from all sides but Hazuki just fires off a flurry! She has Mone down and keeps raining in shots!! Mone is all but out and Hazuki roars! Fans are thunderous, and Hazuki brings Mone up. Hazuki runs, Mone follows and slips around to KNEE Hazuki from the apron! Mone hurries back in, hurries back up, but Hazuki kicks the legs out! DRAPING CODE BREAKER!! Fans fire up and Hazuki climbs. Hazuki leaps, to FLYING CODE BREAKER!!! Cover, AZM BREAKS IT! Mone shoves free, but Hazuki boots! Mone blocks, KNEES and Gory Especials! But Hazuki fights free, drags her down, HAZUKI STAR! Cover, AZM breaks it! AZM SUSHI! TWO, AZM SUSHI RETURNS! Mone breaks it!!! Fans are thunderous as all three are down again! Mone drags Hazuki up, “I’m the CEO!” She SLAPS Hazuki! Mone runs, into a scoop and SLAM! Hazuki fires up again, brings Mone in, and she suplexes, but AZM hops on! O’Conner Roll, but Mone uses that to get AZM in the Gory Especial! MONEY MAKER onto Hazuki!! Cover on AZM, Mone wins!!

As fast and furious as that was, Mone is still the one with the checkered flag! And now, Mercedes Mone will take this title to Stardom’s All-Star Grand Queendom! And speaking of, here comes her challenger, Mayu Iwatani! Mayu steps into the ring and gets a mic to speak. “NJPW, and everyone here, good evening!” Mayu congrats Mone on her title defense, but reminds her that on April 23rd, Stardom in Yokohama Arena, Mone’s belt will belong to Mayu! Mone shakes her head and raises the title high. Mone gets the mic to say, “Try it, b*tch!” And then she SLAPS Mayu down! Mone takes her leave, but will she leave Yokohama still in charge?

The Front Man of TMDK is still rolling with this title, but he is up against the Roughneck who beat him in the New Japan Cup! Will #SHOOTER do it again, only faster? Or will the ZSJ Show continue?
The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see if there’s a new star of the show!
The bell rings and we’re on the clock. Shota rushes in, sunset flips, TWO! ZSJ sits on it, TWO! Shota sunsets again, ONE! ZSJ sits again, ONE! Shota sunsets, ONE! ZSJ sits, TWO! Shota sunsets, TWO!! ZSJ stacks, TWO!! Shota has ZSJ in the sunset again, TWO!!! ZSJ escapes by nanoseconds and the ref assures Shota, it was still just two. ZSJ applauds but fans rally and duel. “SHO-TA!” “ZA-KU!” ZSJ dares Shota to try something, and they feel things out. They knuckle lock, Shota rolls and wrenches but ZSJ wrenches back and top wristlocks. Shota headlocks, wrenches to a wristlock, but ZSJ drops to trip him to a standing toehold.
Shota rolls and gets free and fans applaud again. Shota and ZSJ reset, fans continue to duel, and the two feel things out. ZSJ kicks, UPPERCUTS, but Shota just frowns. Hirooki Goto & Yoshi-Hashi went back and forth with Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis in the New Japan Cup, but those wins earned the young tag team this shot! Will the Aussie Arrow & Dunkzilla conquer the Fierce Warrior & Head Hunter? Or will it be Lights Out for the future of tag team wrestling?
The introductions are made, the belts are raised, and we see if the United Empire conquers Chaos!
The teams sort out, and the Empire throw the crowns up before Fletcher starts with Hashi. Fans rally up as these two meet again from the New Japan Cup. They tie up, Fletcher wrenches, wristlocks, but Hashi reverses to wristlock. Fletcher reverses back, tag to Davis, but Hashi gets away. Hashi has Aussie Open back off, and Davis circles with Hashi. Davis swings, Hashi dodges and headlocks, but Davis powers out. They RAM shoulders, Davis swings but misses and Hashi mule kicks. Hashi headlocks, Davis powers out and Davis runs Hashi over! Davis brings Hashi up, wrenches, and tags Fletcher.
Aussie Open double whip but Hashi holds ropes. Davis rushes in but Hashi dumps him out! Fletcher scoops, Hashi slips off but Fletcher kicks low. Fletcher whips but Goto tags in before Hashi reverses. Bishamon then double shoulder Fletcher over! Hashi runs, for the ZENMAI! Davis returns, but into a kick! And the GOTO GOTO HUNTER! Fans fire up and Hashi runs at Fletcher. Fletcher throws Hashi out, Goto blocks Fletcher’s boot but Fletcher SUPERKICKS! Davis storms over to throw Goto out! Fans fire up and Davis DIVES! Direct hit and Hashi hits railing! Fletcher goes up, ARIHARA MOONSAULT!
Fans are fired up but Fletcher landed pretty hard. The Empire checks Fletcher while fans rally up behind Aussie Open. The ref also checks but somehow Fletcher is still in this. Fletcher puts Goto in the ring, but Fletcher feels his own blood on the side of his head. Fletcher tags Davis, Aussie Open double whips and double CHOPS, then PENALTY KICKS to SENTON! Fans fire up, Fletcher gets checked while Davis covers, TWO! Davis KICKS Goto in the back, and again. Davis drags Goto up but Goto throws hands! Goto CHOPS and CHOPS but Davis knees low! Davis whips, Goto reverses and runs in, but into a boot!
Davis runs, Goto follows, Davis dodges but Goto deflects the boot to DISCUS LARIAT! Goto crawls to tag Hashi and fans rally up. Hashi RAMS Davis but Davis roars! Hashi ROCKS, body shots and CHOPS! Hashi whips Davis but Davis reverses. But Hashi comes back to CHOP! Hsahi mule kicks, turns Davis, but Davis elbows free! Hashi keeps moving, and he BLOCKBUSTERS! Fletcher, all taped up, storms in to kick and whip Hashi to ropes. Hashi holds ropes to stop himself, Fletcher runs in but Hashi FLAPJACKS him onto the top rope! Fletcher is stuck, Hashi DROPKICKS him out to the floor!
Fans fire up and Hashi runs at Davis in the corner, to clothesline! Hashi turns Davis, NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Fans rally and duel, Davis snarls and stands. Hashi mule kicks but Davis blocks. Davis lifts, Hashi fights free, but Davis swats the lariat to CHOP! And then BIG back suplex! Fans fire up while both men are down! Hashi goes to an open corner, Davis crawls to his corner, tag to Fletcher! Fans fire up for Fletcher’s guts as he runs in at Hashi to GAMANGIRI! Hashi falls and the Empire fires up! Fletcher fires forearms, but Hashi CHOPS! Hashi full nelsons, Fletcher breaks and switches but so does Hashi. They goa round more, Fletcher suplexes, but Hashi fights fere! Hashi swings, but into Fletcher’s HALF ‘N’ HALF! Fans fire up and rally as Fletcher tags Davis back in. Aussie Open drags Hashi up, feed and fireman’s carry, AUSSIE DENTAL PLAN! Fletcher BLASTS Goto, goes up, Davis scoops Hashi, LAWN DART CUTTER! Cover, TWO!! Hashi is still in this but Aussie Open keeps focus. Fans duel, Davis tags Fletcher back in, and they each aim at Hashi. Hashi slowly rises, Aussie Open runs in, but Hashi dodges! The lariats collide!
Goto calls, Fletcher whips Hashi to Davis, AUSSIE- NO, Hashi blocks the dental work this time! And he sends that kick into Davis! Davis staggers away, Hashi hits a CODE BREAKER on Fletcher! All three men are down and Goto shouts to Hashi! Hashi crawls, fans rally up, hot tag to Goto! Fans fire up as Goto ROCKS Fletcher, clotheslines Davis, then blocks Fletcher’s boot! But Fletcher DECKS Goto! Davis storms up, Aussie Open whips Goto to a corner. Fletcher runs in but Goto dodges to LARIAT Davis! Fletcher returns, he and Goto fire forearms! Fans rally with every shot, things speed up, and Fletcher gets the edge!
Fletcher roars, runs, but Goto follows to LARIAT Fletcher inside-out! Fans rally for “GO-TO! GO-TO!” as Fletcher crawls to a corner. Goto runs in, to MURAMASA! And then SAIDO! Cover, TWO!! Fletcher is still in this, the white bandages turning more and more red. Goto fireman’s carries but Fletcher fights it! Fletcher spins, but Goto DECKS him! Goto roars, drags Fletcher up, and fireman’s carries, but Fletcher fights free! Fletcher waistlocks, Goto backs him into the corner, and Hashi runs in to clothesline Fletcher in the corner! Hashi SUPERKICKS Fletcher! Davis BOOTS Hashi! Goto LARIATS Davis! Fletcher returns to kick, run, but into the fireman’s carry! FIERCE FLASH!! Fans fire up with Bishamon and they drag Fletcher up. Dragon sleeper, leg capture, but Fletcher kicks Hashi away! Davis drags Hashi out, Fletcher victory rolls Goto, cover, TWO!!! Goto escapes by nanoseconds, but Fletcher runs in. Eagles takes aim, and FIELD GOALS the leg! The kick is good but Hiromu is clutching his leg. Eagles mockingly encourages Hiromu, then brings him up. Hiromu CHOPS, but Eagles just shrugs it off. Hiromu CHOPS, and CHOPS, but Eagles CHOPS! Eagles CHOPS Hiromu again, fires up, but Hiromu BOOTS him! Hiromu hops up to headscissor, only for Eagles to Electric Chair and DUMP! And CHOP BLOCK! And BLINDSIDE LARIAT! Cover, TWO!! But into the KNEEBAR!! Eagles pulls on the leg and ZSJ coaches him, but Hiromu still scrambles to the ROPEBREAK! Eagles lets go but ZSJ says he’s got this.

Fans rally up, both men stand, SUPER- NO, Eagles blocks again, another clinch, but Hiromu slips free to suplex! Eagles lands out, but Hiromu fireman’s carries! Dragon sleeper, spin around, VICTORY ROYALE! Fans rally up while Hiromu writhes and clutches the knee. Eagles sits up first and heads over to Hiromu. Hiromu ROCKS Eagles, but Eagles keeps coming. The bell rings and fans are dueling already, “O-KA-DA!” “SA-NA-DA!” The rivals stare down, circle, feel things out, and then back away. They circle again, tie up, and are in a deadlock. The deadlock lasts quite a long time, but then Okada shoots to a waistlock. Sanada switches, but Okada hammerlocks. Sanada reaches around, headlocks, and grinds. Okada powers up and puts Sanada on the ropes. Red Shoes calls the break, Okada lets off slowly, but then throws a forearm! No playing around this time! They tie up again, go around, and Sanada puts Okada on the ropes. Red Shoes wants the break, Sanada lets off, but Okada wants to get hit!
Sanada just pats Okada on the shoulder like Okada would, but then he kicks low! And then CLUBS Okada! Sanada whips, Okada ducks ‘n’ dodges and ELBOWS! Fans fire up, Okada brings Sanada up, and he throws Sanada out. Okada pursues, whips, and Sanada hits railing hard! Okada storms up, brings Sanada back up, and wrenches to whip Sanada hard into more railing! Okada runs in to BOOT Sanada into the crowd! Fans rally up, the “SA-NA-DA!” side getting stronger than the “O-KA-DA!” Okada waits on Sanada again, Alabama Lifts, but Sanada kicks free! Sanada CLUBS Okada, but Okada ROCKS Sanada! Fans rally and we’re only past 10 minutes. Okada goes out to fetch Sanada, telling Just5Guys to back off. Okada pulls up floor mats! Okada wants to return the favor from the Road to Sakura Genesis! Okada brings Sanada over, DDT to the concrete!! Sanada clutches his forehead while Okada leaves him behind. Just5Guys check Sanada but he’s somehow okay to continue. The ring count begins and Okada patiently waits in the ring. Sanada slowly stirs at 12 of 20, sits up at 14, and springs in at 15! But Okada is right on him, wrench and MONEY CLIP! Sanada endures, reaches out, and fights his way to the ROPEBREAK!
Okada holds until Red Shoes counts. Okada brings Sanada around, scoops and SLAMS, then he goes to the corner. Okada climbs, but Sanada springs up! Okada leaps over him, returns, but runs into the fireman’s carry! Okada fights free, whips Sanada to a corner, but Sanada goes up and out and springboard MISSILE DROPKICKS! Sanada drops but Okada rolls back and drags Sanada to gut wrench! Sanada slips free, Okada elbows and runs, but into the fireman’s carry! TKO! And then dragon sleeper, SKULL END!! Okada is caught in the body scissors! Okada pops free of the sleeper, pries the scissors open, but Sanada wants the sleeper again! Okada fights but gets caught! Okada again slips free but Sanada catches Okada again! SKULL END!! Okada is fading, and Sanada puts him in the drop zone! Sanada goes up top, ROUNDING BODY PRESS into knees!! Okada saves himself there but both men are down! Fans rally up, Just5Guys coach Sanada up.

Fans fire up, Okada brings Sanada up, but Sanada elbows away! Okada scowls, Sanada runs, but Okada DROPKICKS! Okada brings Sanada up, gut wrenches, but Sanada fights, and he has the dragon sleeper! But Okada still hits LANDSLIDE!
Ripcord! RAIN- NO, Sanada ducks to ripcord and steal the RAINMAKER!!! Fans are thunderous as both men are down again! Okada and Sanada stir as the fans duel! Just5Guys coaches Sanada, and he slowly sits up. Okada is dazed, but he still pushes himself up. Okada and Sanada crawl towards each other, and Okada’s rage is in his eyes. Just5Guys are ecstatic! They celebrate with their guy, who is now THE guy! Okada falls to his rival, what will become of him now?
As for Sanada, he is presented with the belt, and Just5Guys help put it on him. Sanada has the New Japan Cup trophy, the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, and now the mic. “Finally, finally! I’m the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion!” The fans cheer that! Sanada tells Okada, “You and I are the same age, we’ve been through so much, and I thank you. Now, I’m in the position where I can say to you, ‘Let’s do it again.'” Fans rally for “SA-NA-DA!” and the stars are already coming out. Wait, Hiromu hobbles his way back out here? Sanada’s former friend in LIJ hops into the ring?!
Fans rally, Hiromu gets the mic and tells Sanada, “You won the New Japan Cup. You won the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Congratulations. You left LIJ and changed the world, proving everything you said. So, it might be a bit sudden, but can I challenge you for the world title?” Fans are excited for that idea! They chant for “HI-RO-MU!” now! Sanada tells Hiromu that he can, but there’s someone he has to deal with first. Sanada looks to Just5Guys, and he gives the mic to the Heel Master!
Yoshinobu Kanemaru tells Hiromu, “You’ve brought up my name before. Before you challenge Sanada, let me challenge you for your title! Oi, you don’t have the right to decide. I WILL challenge you next!” Hiromu tells Sanada that before their match, he’ll take on Kanemaru with the belt on the line. “That sounds like a prize to me! What a trial! So I will beat Kanemaru, retain my title, and live my dream of becoming IWGP World and Junior Heavyweight Champion! You will then see the power and strength of LIJ!” Fans fire up for Hiromu, and a series of challenges has been set! Will the Timebomb survive?
Sanada tells Hiromu that now that business is done, Sanada is going to wrap the show, so please, get outta here. Hiromu takes his leave, and congratulates Just5Guys one more time. Sanada then asks the fans if they want to do “that.” The lights go down, the stars are out in full, and Sanada continues. “I want to say that this is my gift to you. But this is in truth your gift to me. Thank you. Did I make myself clear? Now, let me just do one thing. I love the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship more than anything. OI, RYOGOKU! See you next time!” Will Just5Guys have even more gold the next time they are in town?
My Thoughts:
An awesome event for NJPW here, and it’s been a minute since we’ve had a Sakura Genesis. I did skip a bit, but I really should’ve gotten that Six Man of Tama, Hikuleo & Wato VS Bullet Club, because the biggest development wasn’t even Bullet Club winning. It was that El Phantasmo tried to stop David Finlay & Kenta from beating them all down! And that in turn got ELP kicked out of the Club! There was already tension with how Finlay went after Jay White and it blew over here. Though it was a little messed up they swerved us multiple times, with Kenta and Taiji Ishimori, ELP’s tag partner, turning on him. There won’t be a Bullet Club Civil War, but there could be ELP teaming with the Guerrillas of Destiny to go after Finlay’s Bullet Club.
The IWGP Women’s Championship Triple Threat was awesome stuff, especially for the pace of it. Mone winning made sense to help hook American fans for the Stardom show in a couple weeks, and Mayu Iwatani is a fitting choice, she’s been a big name in Stardom for a long time. No idea who wins, though, but that’ll be a really good match. ZSJ VS Shota was awesome stuff, and it came really close to that 15 minute limit. I was actually a little surprised Shota didn’t get it, but ZSJ snatching the win with that quick pin was a good way to keep Shota strong in losing. ZSJ still has tons of possibilities for challengers as he’s still just the inaugural champion.
Bishamon VS Aussie Open was also amazing, especially given how Fletcher kept fighting even after getting a pretty good cut on the side of his head. Aussie Open are the champions now and the Empire adds more gold to the collection. Great-O-Khan has the Rev-Pro British Heavyweight Championship, Francesco Akira & TJP still have the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships, and Aussie Open has the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships. Ospreay is hurt but he’ll be back, probably going for the world title. Henare missed out on the KOPW title, and Cobb lost against Kenny Omega for the US Championship, but they could try for the NJPW World TV or NEVER Openweight Championship.
The IWGP Junior Heavyweight was also an awesome match, with Hiromu’s leg being a great part of story. But given the BOSJ is on the horizon, and Eagles only just returning, it makes sense Hiromu retained. Okada VS Sanada was also just an awesome match, lots of brutality from both guys to show how they’ve changed from before. I said on Monday that one, Sanada has proven himself worthy, and two, we could really explore this “Bully Okada” persona if he lost the title, and then we get Sanada winning! Sanada finally reaches the top and I’m very happy for him. And Hiromu VS Kanemaru before Hiromu VS Sanada, that is quite the set-up, can’t wait to see how that goes.

Well, they always say, “Card subject to change.” Cash Wheeler is not able to make it, but Lance Archer and “The Predator,” Volador Jr, take his place! Then on the other side, the OG Atlantis jumps in! Will things only end up crazier to start off Grand Slam?
As Dax Harwood & Stokely Hathaway make their way out, #BigStoke has a mic and he has them cut the music. Stokely has some good news and some bad news. Bad news: Due to circumstances beyond his control, Cash Wheeler cannot be here tonight. That’s the bad news. The good news is, one half of FTR is here tonight in the great Dax the Ax! And hey, Stokely has been working on his Espanol all day. “Grassy ass, thank you!” Still messed it up… But with that, the rest of Team Rudo make their way out, starting with Volador, followed by the Don Callis y Hechicero.
On the other side, ROH World Champion Bandido leads the way for his team, followed by Templario and the Atlantis father and son. Then Brody King and Daniel Garcia follow, saving TNT Champion, Adam Cole, for last! The fans join in for the “BOOM!” and “ADAM COLE, BAYBAY!” These massive teams sort out, and Bandido steps up against the Alpha, Konosuke Takeshita. The fans fire up behind the Most Wanted while he and Konosuke circle. They approach, Konosuke trips Bandido and things speed up. Bandido stays low, then hurdles, but Konosuke leaps over. Bandido dodges Konosuke, then he aims his finger gun!
The fans cheer as Konosuke says he has his eyes on Bandido, too. Konosuke kicks low, whips, but Bandido reverses. Bandido scoops right to a torture rack! X KNEE blocked, and Konosuke spins Bandido to back suplex. Bandido lands out, Konosuke mule kicks. Konosuke runs, but into a RANA! The fans fire up while Konosuke bails out. Bandido builds speed, but Hechicero steps in per lucha rules! The fans cheer these two, even duel, and then Hechi takes a swing. Bandido dodges, fires hands, but Hechi dodges and even goes Matrix! The fans fire up, Hechi scoops, Bandido slips free, but Hechi victory rolls to then INVERTED MONKEY FLIP!
Hechi catches Bandido into the REAR NAKED CHOKE, but Bandido rolls back! They both stand, Hechi wrenches Bandido and whips. Hechi runs up to STEP-UP KNEE! Bandido flops down and Hechi shows off the drop steps. Bandido bails out so Garcia runs in! Garcia whips, Hechi sunset flips, but Garcia rolls through, and does his dance! The fans are torn, but Hechi trips Garcia to have the legs! Hechi rolls and stacks Garcia, only for Garcia to activate the core! Garcia sits up, sunset flips, but Hechi blocks to spin Garcia! Garcia RANAS through! Hechi bails out, Dax storms in, and the fans boo.
Garcia fires forearms on Dax first, then backs him to a corner. The fans cheer as Garcia goes up, and he rains down fists! The fans count but Dax stops Garcia at cinco! Dax carries Garcia off the corner but Garcia fights free to DECK Dax! Garcia whips but Dax reverses and wrenches to short arm LARIAT! Garcia bails out so Atlantis Junior jumps in. Arena Mexico actually boos Junior, he’s apparently not as cool as Senior. Junior shrugs that off to run up on Dax. Dax puts Junior on the apron and Junior GAMANGIRIS! Junior slingshots, runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, then SLINGBLADES! Cover, TWO!
Atlantis Junior tags Templario and the fans cheer again. Junior & Temp roll Dax into a wheelbarrow and Temp goes up to MISSILE DROPKICK Dax into the WHEELBARROW GERMAN! Temp covers, TWO! Templario hears the fans cheer him on, but Volador climbs up and CROSSBODIES! He takes down Temp & Junior, then ducks ‘n ‘dodges. Dax gives him a boost to DOUBLE DROPKICK! Dax whips Junior, Volador whips Templario, but they both duck to come back and DOUBLE RANA! Junior SUPERKICKS Dax, and fans boo! Volador SUPERKICKS Junior and fans cheer! Templario rises, and he circles with Volador.
Templario RIPS Volador’s Depredadores shirt and stomps on it! Then things speed up. Volador hurdles, Temp ducks then rolls off Voaldor’s back! Temp goes up, up, and RANAS! Volador bails out, and we get a TEMPLAROONI! Templario then handsprings to SASUKE SPECIAL! Direct hit on Volador, and now that lets Brody King step in. The fans bark and Dax realizes he’s alone with this Hound of Hell. Dax offers a handshake, but Brody CHOPS him down! Archer storms in as Dax scrambles out, and the Murderhawk Monster CLUBS Brody! The fans boo as Archer CLUBS away on Brody, then he soaks up the heat.
Archer whips, Josh Alexander gets a cheap shot in, but Brody swings on him for it! Alexander HOTSHOTS him in return! Archer choke grips, but Cole CHOPE BLOCKS! Cole & Brody RAM Archer into the Walking Weapon! SUPERKICK! SUPERKICK! Brody goes out to get Alexander while Cole SHINING WIZARDS Archer down! Brody fireman’s carries Alexander, APRON DEATH VALLEY!! The fans are thunderous as now Kyle Fletcher steps in. Protostar and Panama City Playboy fire hands! Kyle knees low and fires off more knees! Kyle whips, Cole ducks ‘n’ dodges, and DOUBLE LARIATS collide!
Cole keeps going, he LARIATS again! Kyle wobbles, Cole tries a third time, but he runs into a SNAP HALF ‘N’ HALF! Kyle grins and soaks up heat, but here comes Atlantis Senior! The fans fire up as Senior ducks ‘n’ dodges and TACKLES Kyle! The fans fire up as Atlantis rains down fists! Kyle goes to a corner, Atlantis fires off more shots, then puts him in the other corner. Kyle turns things around, and are more fans cheering Kyle than Senior? Kyle runs up, Senior dodges and Junior GAMANGIRIS! Bandido SUPERKICKS Kyle! Templario JUMP KNEES Kyle! Brody CHOPS Kyle! Garcia BOOTS Kyle up and out!
The fans fire up as now Cole and the team gather together, and the fans cheer as all seven raise their hands! Bandido’s team is in control while Grand Slam goes picture in picture.
The ref has the team sort out and Bandido stays in. He goes out to fetch Dax, but Dax and Volador mug him! The rest of Bandido’s team goes to help him and it is a huge brawl! All 14 men are throwing hands, and Brody even DUMPS Kyle into the crowd! Archer puts Garcia in the ring so they’re legal now. Archer climbs up a corner to rain down fists! Garcia slips out before tres, trips Archer up, and he climbs up! Garcia rains down fists, and this time, Garcia makes it to siete before Archer picks him up and DROPS him on the top buckle! Archer mocks Garcia’s dance, then he drags Garcia up to whip him hard into the Rudo corner.
Archer taunts Bandido, goes back to Garcia, and stands on him at the ropes! The ref reprimands, Archer steps off, and Garcia gets up to fire forearms! Archer ROCKS him in return! Hechicero tags in and he fires hands on Garcia! The ref counts, Hechi stops at quatro and powers up his alchemy. Then he drags Garcia up, only for Garcia to fire hands! Garcia runs, but Hechi scoops him for a BEARHUG! And a SPINNING BACKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Hechi is upset but dos es dos. Hechi drags Garcia up, wrenches his arm, and tags in Alexander. They mug Garcia and Grand Slam returns to single picture.
Mexico cheers on Hechicero, but alexander RAMS Garcia and lifts, only for Garcia to fight it! TWIST ‘N’ SHOUT! Both men are down and the fans rally up! Garcia crawls, reaches out, but Alexander grabs at his foot! Garcia still fights to hot tag Bandido! The fans fire up as Bandido fires forearms with Alexander back and forth! Bandido gets the edge and the fans cheer, only for Alexander to knee low! Alexander runs, but Bandido gorilla presses him! And then SLAMS him down! The fans fire up more, and Bandido goes up, up, and Latino Heat, but Alexander is right up after him! SUPER BELLY2BELLY! Cover, TWO!
The fans fire up but Alexander hurries to get Bandido up. Konosuke climbs and Alexander Electric Chair Lifts Bandido! But Bandido slips down, shoves Alexander into Konosuke, and then he sends Alexander to Templario for a SUPERKICK! Templario puts Alexander up top, then he and Bandido climb! They have Konosuke and Alexander on the very top, for STEREO MOONSAULT POWERSLAMS!! Stereo covers, TWO!! Both Alexander and Konosuke survive but Temp & Bandido high-five. But then Kyle SUPERKICKS Templario! Bandido fires hands, runs, but Kyle LARIATS Bandido! Atlantis Junior SUPERKICKS Kyle!
Junior goes up, up, but Alexander SHOVES him down! Alexander then goes out after Junior while Kyle rises. Atlantis Junior fights to BACKDROP Alexander into the ring! Junior goes up the ramp, runs back down, and he CROSSBODIES Kyle & Alexander! The teams rush in, it is a brawl, but then Bandido’s team puts Kyle, Alexander, Konosuke and Volador in corners! The fans cheer as Bandido, Junior, Garcia and Cole rain down fists! The fans count along, and finally, we get all the way to DIEZ! En total, cuarenta! The fans cheer as Bandido’s team tosses the rudos out, and then Junior DIVES to take out Konosuke! Konosuke stays up, so Templario DIVES onto him, too!
Garcia and Alexander brawl their way up the ramp and to the back, and the same for Cole with Kyle! Bandido ASAI MOONSAULTS Volador! Archer storms into the ring to meet Brody! The fans bark for these behemoths and the forearms fly! Archer throat chops, runs, but into a forearm! Brody roars and runs, but into a forearm! Archer roars and runs, but then fakes Brody out! But Brody deflects the boot to run and CLOBBER Archer! Archer tumbles out, but here comes Hechi! FLYING ELBOW! Hechi stomps away on Brody and the fans fire up! The Alchemist whips, Brody blows through the lariat to RANA?!?
Hechi tumbles out while fans bark, and Brody builds speed to DIVE!! The supersized tope takes out Hechi AND Konosuke! But that leaves Dax with Atlantis Senior. And Senior has been owing Dax a beating since last week! The hands fly, the fans fire up, and Senior gets the edge! But Dax kicks low! Dax CLUBS Senior, kicks away, and the fans are cheering!? Dax is all fired up, and he drags Senior up to bring him around. But Senior drags him into a cradle! Team Bandido wins!!

But Dax attacks anyway! What a sore loser! But Arena Mexico doesn’t seem to care?! Junior and the other luchadores run Dax off, and Stokely says keep them back! Will things just have to end here? Or will both father and son get payback on FTR soon enough?
Kazuchika Okada w/ Don Callis VS Mark Briscoe!
The Rainmaker has a Winner Takes All match with long-time rival, Kenny Omega, but he crossed a line! Not only has Okada joined Don Callis just to stick it to The Cleaner, but Okada hospitalized Omega with a brutal attack to the stomach! Will the Sussex County Chicken get a semblance of revenge on Omega’s behalf? Or will Okada make it rain in Arena Mexico?
The fans are fired up for Okada while he and Briscoe get face to face. The ref has them back away to their corners, then the bell rings. Okada and Briscoe step up again, then Briscoe shoves Okada! Okada bails out and the fans boo. Briscoe waits on Okada while commentary tells Callis he and Okada committed the most despicable thing in all of wrestling. Callis of course says it was the most shrewd tactical move in the history of wrestling. Okada takes his time returning into the ring, and then he circles with Briscoe. They tie up and are in a deadlock. They go around, Okada puts Briscoe on the ropes, but he lets off slowly.
Okada fakes the chop, and pats Briscoe on the shoulders. The fans are torn, but Briscoe kicks Okada and TOSSES him! The fans cheer as Briscoe builds speed, but Okada steps aside so Briscoe can’t dive. Briscoe gives chase, though, and they go around the outside. They slide back in, and Okada CLOBBERS Briscoe! The fans are torn as Okada CLUBS away. Okada fires forearms, storms up to stomp Briscoe in the corner, and then ELBOWS him! The fans are torn but Okada brings Briscoe around for a BIG back suplex. But Briscoe lands out, and hits the Crane Stance! Okada takes a swing, Briscoe ducks, and Briscoe CHOPS!
Briscoe whips, Okada reverses, but Briscoe slides under the boot! Crane Stance! Crane feint, then the CRANE KICK! The fans fire up as Briscoe stands up in his Redneck Kung-Fu stance. Briscoe stands Okada up to ROCK with a haymaker, then ROCKS him again. Okada staggers, Briscoe is on him with a CHOP! The fans “WOO~” and Callis acknowledges those heavy hands of Briscoe’s. Briscoe bumps Okada off buckles, stomps a mudhole, then stops as the ref counts 4. Briscoe then grinds his forearm into Okada’s face! The ref counts again, Briscoe stops at 4, and he whips corner to corner. Okada reverses but Briscoe goes up and out.
Okada runs up but Briscoe blocks a shot to ROCK Okada! Briscoe then RAMS into Okada, throws him out of the ring, and then DIVES! Direct hit and the fans fire up! Briscoe high-fives the front row before he puts Okada in the ring. Okada goes to a corner, Briscoe runs up and LARIATS! Briscoe goes corner to corner again, but Okada BOOTS him! Briscoe just fires up! Okada dodges this time, and he hoists Briscoe up to DROPKICK him down to the floor! The fans fire up while Grand Slam goes picture in picture.
Okada waits while Briscoe is down and out. A ring count starts, Briscoe stirs, but then Okada goes out to fetch Briscoe. Briscoe fires body shots but Okada kicks low! DDT to the floor! Okada leaves Briscoe behind and the ring count starts again. Briscoe rises up, leans on commentary, and he tells Callis off before he goes to the ring at 6 of 10. Okada is on Briscoe with another DDT! Cover, TWO! Briscoe toughs it out and Okada is annoyed. Okada stalks Briscoe to a corner, but Briscoe kicks low! Okada ELBOWS Briscoe, whips corner to corner, then runs in and ELBOWS Briscoe down! Okada paces while soaking up cheers and jeers.
Okada goes back to Briscoe and drags him up. Okada reels Briscoe in, turns him, and hits a NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Briscoe is still in this and he rises up. Okada is on him with a chinlock and bends him back! Briscoe endures as Okada leans on the hold, and Briscoe fights around to stand back up. But Okada drags Briscoe back down! Briscoe still fights, Grand Slam returns to single picture, and the fans rally up. Briscoe rises again, fires body shots, then runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, but Okada hits a FLAPJACK! Okada is ice cold while the fans fire up. Okada brings Briscoe up, gut wrenches, but Briscoe fights to a victory roll! TWO!
Okada runs up, Briscoe waistlocks, but Okada switches. Briscoe breaks free to PELE! Both men are down and the fans fire up again! Briscoe pounds the mat and the fans rally. Briscoe rises, Okada stands, and they throw forearms back and forth! Briscoe ROCKS Okada, and Okada comes back to CLAW Briscoe’s eyes! Okada whips, but Briscoe reverses and CHOPS! Briscoe fires forearms, then whips. Okada reverses but Briscoe FLYING FOREARMS! The fans fire up again and both men rise up. Briscoe winds up to LARIAT in the corner! Briscoe brings Okada out to a FISHERMAN BUSTER! Cover, TWO!
The fans fire up as Okada stays in this! Briscoe clutches his neck but he brings Okada back up. Okada fights the clinch, the fans duel, and Okada puts Briscoe on ropes. Okada whips, Briscoe FLIPS through the backdrop! The fans fire up and Okada thinks it is for him. But he turns around into a REDNECK UPPERCUT! Briscoe runs in at the corner, but Okada pops him up to the Alabama Lift! REVERSE NECKBREAKER! The fans fire up again and Okada scoops to SLAM! Standard formula, Okada goes up the corner! MACHO ELBOW! Then Okada winds it up, and gives the Rainmaker MIDDLE FINGER~!
Okada grins, but Briscoe grabs that finger to BITE IT! The fans fire up and the ref reprimands, but Briscoe BITES more! Then EXPLODER! Briscoe drags Okada to a drop zone, climbs up top, and FROGGY-BOW! Cover, TWO!! The fans fire up as Okada survives! Briscoe calls his shot and he underhooks Okada! But Okada BACKDROPS free! Briscoe is right up, swings, but Okada dodges to then backslide! Roll through, but Briscoe dodges the lariat, only for the DROPKICK to hit! Okada roars, ripcords, and RAIN- NO, Briscoe ducks, kicks low, and underhooks! But Okada fights the lift! Wrench, ripcord, but Briscoe wrenches and underhooks! JAY-

MJF w/ The Hurt Syndicate VS Mistico!
The Scumbag only ever does or uses something when it benefits him, and being extremely patriotic for the United States only seems to happen when he wants to stick it to someone not from the United States. MJF waves Ol’ Glory while he, MVP, Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin walk down to the ring, but will he have to wave the white flag of surrender here tonight? Or will MJF somehow screw over the arguably greatest and most beloved man in CMLL?
In fact, to counter MJF being an American idiot, Mistico takes off his Sin Cara mask to reveal the colors of Mexico’s flag and therefore the colors of his people. He also has Me Muero as his theme, and the fans all know that one! The bell rings and the two circle while the fans rally behind Mistico. The two tie up, MJF SHOVES Mistico away, and then MJF soaks up the heat. MJF mockingly claps and then says up theirs! MVP tells MJF to worry about Mistico, not the fans. The fans tell MJF off and MJF tells them to shut up. MJF and Mistico tie up, Mistico SHOVES MJF, and Mistico eggs MJF on! MJF gets up, he and Mistico circle again, and they tie up. MJF kicks low and grins.
MJF brings Mistico around to headlock but Mistico fires body shots. Mistico powers up and out, then CHOPS! Mistico winds up and the fans rally, and he knuckle locks before he CHOPS again! Mortos tags Matt, Matt fires hands and then CATAPULTS Ospreay into Nick’s GAMANGIRI! Then Nick goes up, DOUBLE STOMP BACKBREAKER COMBO! The Bucks taunt Swerve, he runs in to get a GUT BUSTER to the NECKBREAKER BACKBREAKER COMBO!
The fans boo but The Buck soak it up while doing their classic pose. Matt tags Nick in and they drag Ospreay up. They double whip but Ospreay ducks ‘n’ dodges, and he turns the double hip toss into a DOUBLE ARM-DRAG! Atomic drop and CHOP for Matt, atomic drop and CHOP for Nick! Then CHOP after CHOP for the Bucks! Nick CLAWS the bad eye! The ref reprimands but Matt gives Nick the boost into the RANA! The Bucks soak up more heat and then Nick tags Yuta. Yuta gets even more boos, but then Ospreay BACKDROPS him! Tag to Swerve and the fans fire up! Swerve & Ospreay whip Yuta to the corner!
The fans chant for “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOSUE! Ospreay ELBOWS Yuta, Swerve UPPERCUTS, then snapmare for Ospreay’s STANDING SHOOTING STAR! Ospreay sits Yuta up while Swerve climbs, FALLING UPPERCUT! And Swerve hits the Griddy! The fans cheer, Swerve brings Yuta up, but Yuta THROWS Swerve by his hair! The fans boo and Swerve scowls but Yuta stands him up. Swerve digs in his heels to keep Yuta from his corner! Yuta panics and Swerve ROCKS him! Swerve whips then blocks a boot to slip through and BACKBREAKER! Tag to Samoa Joe and the fans fire up again!
Joe runs up to JAB away on Yuta! The ref counts but Joe fires a flurry, then a RIDGE HAND! Joe snapmares Yuta, CHPOS him on the back, then KICK and ELBOW DROP! Tag to Katsuyori Shibata and the fans fire up again! The Wrestler stands Yuta up to fire a forearm! Shibata eggs Yuta on, Yuta fires a forearm, but Shibata ROCKS Yuta! Yuta fires up but Shibata ROCKS him again! Shibata fires a flurry of forearms, then he DECKS Yuta! Shibata stands Yuta up just to DECK him again! Tag to “Powerhouse” Hobbs! Shibata puts Yuta in a corner for Hobbs to SPLASH! Shibata adds a BOOT! Joe tags in and ELBOWS Yuta, to then PELE!
The fans fire up as Yuta falls and Moxley is frustrated. Joe covers, TWO! Yuta stays in this for his team, then he JAWBREAKERS Joe away! Yuta hot tags Moxley! The fans boo the Maniac AEW World Champion, but he and Joe fire forearms! The fans rally as the shots go back and forth! Moxley kicks low, flips Joe off, but runs into a SLEEPER! The fans fire up, but The Bucks & Mortos attack! Ospreay, Swerve & The Opps rush in, it is a brawl, and the fans are loving it! The ref reprimands but things spill out to the outside! Only Ospreay and Matt remain in the ring, and Matt fires hands on Ospreay. Matt runs but into a tiger wall kick and ENZIGIRI!
The fans fire up and Ospreay climbs a corner! Ospreay aims and SUPER SKY TWISTERS onto the cluster!! The fans are thunderous as Ospreay and Swerve stand tall, and Grand Slam goes picture in picture.
Joe gets in the ring and Ospreay puts Moxley in for him. Joe tags Ospreay and they mug Moxley. Ospreay brings Moxley around to ROCK him, then whip. Moxley reverses, Matt trips Ospreay up, and Matt drags Ospreay out. Ospreay sends Matt into Swerve’s BOOT! Nick YANKS Swerve down but Ospreay sends Nick into railing! Ospreay hurries back in, but Moxley hits a CUTTER! Moxley flips off the fans, then stands between Ospreay and his corner. Moxley stomps Ospreay’s hand and puts him in the #DeathBucks corner. Moxley bends Ospreay’s fingers, the ref counts, and Moxley lets go so that Yuta can CHOKE Ospreay!
Yuta gets away with that, and Moxley tags Nick. Nick goes up to AX HANDLE Ospreay! Tag to Matt and the Bucks double whip. They DOUBLE ELBOW, hit their pose, then stomp away on Ospreay. Matt rains down fists, then BITES Ospreay’s forehead! Matt tries to rip that bandage away but it’s on there tight. The ref reprimands but Matt keeps between Ospreay and his team. Matt stands Ospreay up but Ospreay CHOPS Matt! And CHOPS again! Matt RAMS Ospreay to the corner, Yuta tags in, and they mug Ospreay. Yuta rains down fists, then stalks Ospreay. Yuta grabs a leg, hits a spinning toehold, then ties the legs up in a DEATHLOCK!
Yuta bridges back to put on the pressure! Ospreay endures, Yuta flips off the fans, and then Yuta tags Moxley in. Ospreay is stuck and Moxley stomps him right down! The ref reprimands but Yuta lets Ospreay go. Grand Slam returns to single picture and Ospreay fires hands. Moxley fires back, the fans rally for Ospreay, but Moxley scoops to SLAM! Cover, TWO! Moxley stays on Ospreay with another cover, TWO! Moxley has the arm, DOUBLE WRISTLOCK! Ospreay endures as it becomes a KIMURA! Ospreay still fights up and the fans rally! Ospreay’s entire team reaches out, but Moxley pulls Ospreay’s hair! Moxley shoves Ospreay away to then sucker punch Swerve!
Hobbs storms in but the ref keeps him back. Ospreay CHOPS away on Moxley! Moxley shoots around to have a SLEEPER! Ospreay slips out the back to back suplex, but Moxley fights with elbows! Moxley whips, Ospreay handsprings, NEURALIZER KICK! Moxley wobbles but falls, and Ospreay crawls! Hot tags to Yuta and Hobbs! The fans fire up as Hobbs CLOBBERS Yuta, BLASTS The Bucks, and then picks Yuta up to RAM him into a corner! The fans fire up as Hobbs shouts, “MEAT!” The fans fire up and Hobbs fires those point-blank LARIATS! Hobbs goes past DIEZ to hit TRECE! That’s 13!
Hobbs then brings Yuta out to short arm LARIAT! The fans fire up as the straps come down! But The Bucks kick low! The Bucks DOUBLE CHOP, but that just pisses Hobbs off! The Bucks apologize but the fans tell them they messed up. Hobbs blocks a superkick, then the other! The Bucks want mercy, but Hobbs goes to guzels! But Yuta jumps on for a SLEEPER! Joe wants in, the ref has him stop, but this lets Moxley sneak in! Mox kicks Hobbs low! Hobbs lets the Bucks go, Mox & Yuta double whip. Hobbs breaks through that double lariat to DOUBLE LARIAT The Bucks! The fans fire up as Hobbs then DOUBLE LARIATS Yuta & Moxley!
Ospreay & Swerve hurry to DOUBLE PLANCHA The Bucks! Shibata tags in, he whips Yuta to a corner. Shibata sends Hobbs in for a SPLASH! Then Shibata adds his HYDRAULIC DROPKICK! The fans fire up and Shibata HALF HATCH SUPLEXES Yuta! Hobbs scoops Yuta for a POWERSLAM! Shibata covers but Mortos breaks it! Hobbs returns, Mortos dodges him and SPEARS Hobbs down!! Then a HEADBUTT for Shibata! Mortos keeps going, TORNILLO TOPE onto Hobbs!! Mortos gets back in and LARIATS Shibata! The fans fire up but here comes Joe! Joe fires forearms back and forth with Mortos!
The fans rally, Joe fires a flurry, but Mortos kicks low! Mortos whips Joe to the corner, runs in, but Joe URENAGES Mortos down! Nick SHINING WIZARDS! Matt cravats Joe and Nick helps with the SLICED BREAD! BASEMENT SUPERKICK! But Ospreay springboards in! DOUBLE SUPERKICKS for Ospreay! Then they have the wrists, E V P- NO, Ospreay kips up, gets loose, and DOUBLE OSCUTTERS!! Swerve joins in, FOSBURY FLOP onto the Bucks! The fans are thunderous, Nana does his dance, and Ospreay turns around into a BUSAIKU KNEE from Yuta! Shibata gets Yuta in a SLEEPER! Yuta snapmares free and ROCKS Shibata!
“ESTA LUCHA!” as Yuta runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, and BUSAIKU KNEES Shibata! But Shibata’s right up to PENALTY KICK!! Both men are down and the fans continue to rally! Hot tags to Swerve and Moxley! These two fire forearms and the fans fire up again! The most dangerous men in AEW go back and forth, but Swerve gets the edge! Moxley ROLLING ELBOWS! Swerve mule kicks and HAYMAKERS! Ospreay adds a HOOK KICK! Swerve somersaults for the FLATLINER! Ospreay helps Swerve turn Moxley in the gator roll, CHASING THE DRAGON!! The fans are thunderous and Ospreay sets Moxley up!
Swerve goes up, but Matt stops Swerve! Swerve kicks Matt away and Ospreay BOOTS Matt down! But Marina distracts the ref! Nick SHOVES Swerve and Swerve HOTSHOTS off the ropes! Moxley rolls swerve up to cover, DEATH BUCKS WIN!!
Winners: The Death Riders, The Young Bucks & The Beast Mortos, by pinfall
The Problem is always a factor, but this isn’t done as Yuta & The Bucks beat up on Joe! Then the Bucks SUPERKICK Swerve! Moxley has a SLEEPER on Swerve, then feeds him to the SUPERKICKS! Moxley puts the SLEEPER back on, but HERE COMES HANGMAN!! The Cowboy told us about the ringside ban, but also mentioned that once the match was over, it was fair game! Hangman storms out here, unintentionally saving Swerve, and he glares at Moxley. The fans fire up as Hangman throws off his jacket and rushes the ring! Moxley stands his ground, the two get face to face, and now go fist for fist! Yuta gets in but Hangman DECKS him!
Moxley kicks low! Moxley whips but Hangman goes to the apron! Moxley waits, Hangman slingshots, but then Moxley dodges! BUCKSHOT on Matt! Well, it did hit a Buck, and Nick asks wtf! Hangman says he told them, they stay out of his business or else! But now Moxley has the briefcase! Only for Hangman to spot him first. Moxley is frozen in place, and now The Opps & Ospreay get in the ring! The Maniac decides discretion is the better part of valor, and The Death Riders are in retreat. But there’s no running from what’s coming! 24 days remain before All In, will they be the last 24 days Moxley has as champion?
My Thoughts:
Awesome night for AEW’s first show in Mexico, even with things going about how I expected. For one, Mone of course won the title, because why else would they even do this match if not to give her one more belt? Though, what’s wild is that she picked up another belt without much hype or press from AEW. I guess European Wrestling Alliance hopes this gets them some attention. But good stuff with Toni Storm’s noir video and the sneak attack. And I would hope Toni retains the title at All In to keep Mone from going Ultimo Dragon just yet.
Cash Wheeler and Claudio Castagnoli both had travel issues, so I understand subbing people in. But did a 12 Man Tag really need to become a 14 Man Tag for it? And seeing as how I don’t cover CMLL’s own programming, I have NO idea why Atlantis Senior & Junior are getting booed. Is it a “Cena Wins LOL” situation where Junior is winning too much? That’s the only thing I can really think of offhand. But naturally, the Faces of that match won, as The Don Callis Family was rolling last week and needed humbling. I would think we still get Adam Cole VS Kyle Fletcher 2 now, and maybe Kyle wins the title so that the Don Callis Family has something.
Although, Callis seems to be bringing Okada into the fold for whatever reason, so he could end up bringing the “Unified” Continental & International Championship to the family. Okada VS Briscoe was great, and naturally Okada got the win. Mistico VS MJF was great stuff, up until MJF gave up and gave Mistico the win there. I know MJF loves getting heat, but him being the first man to snatch Mistico’s mask away like that is some HUGE heat. Also, I think I said it way back during some feud Penta had in AEW, but are masks really sacred if they’re willing to let them get ripped, stretched, and even yanked away? Or has that been lucha libre kayfabe all along? Either way, great stuff with JetSpeed and the other luchadores showing up, lots of matches set up with that.
Great Fatal 4 Way, and great win for Hologram to stay undefeated, but I will again criticize needing to do money prizes for these things. They should’ve set Hologram up for a title match twice over by now but TK is apparently making Hologram his top undefeated guy. Like if Goldberg was more than just big and strong and could actually do stuff… Also, while they obviously didn’t work together the entire time, I just feel like Ricochet having Lio Rush & Action Andretti become his crew (what with them being CRU and all) is the right move. Or perhaps this story of finding a faction is going to be an ongoing gag that no one likes Ricochet and would never follow him.
Then a great 10 Man Tag main event, though a little redundant considering Anarchy in the Arena was only a few weeks ago. Still good stuff for everybody, especially Mortos since he got to sub in for Claudio. Of course Marina gets involved so that the Heels win, but great stuff with Hangman going after Moxley. Hangman did a great job in his promo speaking Espanol to show respect to the fans. Naturally, Moxley gets away, that’s his whole thing. I really hope Ospreay, Swerve and The Opps keep the Death Riders and Bucks at bay so Hangman doesn’t get screwed over at All In. It’d be garbage if, after all this time and energy, it doesn’t pay off with Hangman as the triumphant hero.
