Bandwagon Nerds #192: Saturday In The (Trailer) Park

For one of the rare times in the near 200 Episode history of BWN, the Nerds got together on a Saturday to record an Episode. Fueled by copious amounts of caffeine, Patrick oversaw a full compliment of Nerds as they broke down Secret Invasion, Episode 4. Nick Fury’s list of allies continued to dwindle this week and the worst kept secret about a secret Skrull was revealed. The guys then take an extended tour of the Trailer Park and took a look at the latest from Ahsoka, Wonka, Blue Beetle, Rebel Moon, and more. James Gunn made some huge casting announcements for Superman: Legacy that has everyone (even Patrick…sort of) excited about the direction of the latest attempt to reboot the Man of Steel. But, the biggest news of the week, of course, was the fact that SAG/AFTRA joined the writers in a strike against the Studios. To say things have gotten ugly is an understatement as some controversial comments by high ranking executives at well-known studios….and a shocking suggestion about the use of AI…strongly suggest that the strike could go on for much longer than anyone anticipated.

Episode 8 of Daredevil: Born Again was filled with drama, surprises, and a stunning ending that left all the Nerds wondering what will happen next. This week, the NERDS come to you on a historic day. Recorded just moments after Alex Ovechkin set the new record for most goals in NHL History, we get a very mini, very impromptu, edition of the Four Corners Podcast before turning to the Nerdy goodness of the week. Daredevil: Born Again, Episode 7, continues to follow Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk as they both try to embrace their present and keep their respective pasts at arm’s length. The serial killer Muse has different ideas, though, and his actions force the hands of both hero and villain in another excellent Episode. We got a huge announcement about Spider-Man 4 (aka Spiderman: Brand New Day), an extended sneak-peek at an opening scene from James Gunn’s Superman, and $450 for a Nintendo Switch 2? And $90 for physical copies of games? Really Nintendo? Villian Madness returns with the Round of 32 matchups in the Rich & Powerful and Vengeful brackets. The guys also pay their respects to the one and only Val Kilmer. All that and, of course Whatcha Watchin”?
