Time Limit Draw
The fans can’t believe it! This isn’t the first time FTR and a form of the BCC have done this! Dax gets a mic and says hey, BCC are fighters, and FTR sure are fighters, so how about fire more minutes? The fans love the sound of that! Yuta sure wants it, but out comes Brandon Cutler. He says hold on, hold on. He is here on behalf of our EVPs, Matthew & Nicholas Jackson, and has the contract for this match. It says 20 minutes, no more. So sorry to be a stickler for rules, but it says 20, not 21, not 25, just 20. So their request- Claudio trips Cutler! GIANT SWING for the Young Bucks’ rule monkey! DROPKICK!!
Then Claudio CATAPULTS Cutler into the SHATTER MACHINE!! Well, we didn’t get a definitive winner in this match, but Claudio gets the mic. Claudio knows Cutler ruined the fun, and they won’t shake hands because that’s too cliche. But hey, anytime, anywhere they to do this again, FTR is on. The fans fire up for that, when and where will we see Dax & Cash run it back with Claudio & Yuta?
Backstage interview with Kyle O’Reilly.
Lexy Nair is with #CombatKyle and notes that tonight in the main event, and for the very first time 1v1, it will be O’Reilly VS Orange Cassidy. Kyle says yeah, and Dynamite was the first time they even collided. But Kyle can see why Cassidy is the face of this company, why he’s the MVP of AEW. He put the International Championship on the map! But then Roderick Strong shouts at “KYYYLE~!” Roddy steps in, The Kingdom with him, and says here’s what is going on. Ever since Kyle returned, he’s look good. Not great, but good. It just seems like Kyle takes one step forward and two steps back. It’s like… Something is missing. Or perhaps someone?
Roddy says that isn’t the only reason he’s here. He knows Kyle has the big main event match, and Roddy wants Kyle to know The Kingdom is rooting for him. And uh, Roddy’s beat Orange twice, so if Kyle needs advice, Roddy’s your man. Kyle says yeah, he “appreciates” the offer, but they’ve been through this before. Their support means a lot, but he doesn’t need it. Roddy says just remember what Kyle said when he returned. Roddy leaves it at that, will Kyle’s words come back to haunt him?
Kris Statlander w/ Stokely Hathaway VS Robyn Renegade!
As “Big Stoke” puts it, it’s #StaturdayNight, as The Galaxy’s Greatest Traitor is now all about herself and no one else. Will Kris take over AEW stat? Or will she be unable to handle this Renegade?
The bell rings and the fans rally up. The two tie up, go around, and Kris puts Renegade in the corner. Kris UPPERCUTS, then snapmares Robyn with force. Robyn gets up but Kris RAMS her into the other corner! Kris RAMS in again and again, lets off as the ref counts to whip right back into the corner! Robyn falls, the fans boo, but Stokely applauds as Kris flexes. Kris eggs Robyn on, then fakes a punch to KICK and LARIAT! The fans boo more but Kris sees Robyn go to a corner. Kris runs corner to corner but blocks a boot! “Nice try!” Kris gets Robyn up, Robyn fights with fists and gets free. But Kris blocks a shot to ROCK Robyn!
Kris then drags Robyn around, lifts, and SITOUT BOMBS! Robyn flounders, Kris hauls her right back up and gut wrenches. Tuck and FIGHT NIGHT FEVER! Cover, Kris wins!
Winner: Kris Statlander, by pinfall
Kris does push-ups to show off, Stat’s stats are off the charts! Stokely steps into the ring to say, “This woman standing next to me, she’s an inspiration! She’s my muse! She’s the reason I get up in the morning. And you wanna know why? Because I wish I had the swift of Kris Statlander. I wish I had the speed of Kris Statlander! I wish I had the intensity of Kris Statlander! And I wish I could decimate an entire division with the snap of my fingers, just like Kris Statlander! Which brings me to my next point at hand.” Earlier today, Stokely talked with his close, personal friend, Tony Khan. And for the first time ever, they were on the same page!
Because Stoke told TK that Kris is the past, present AND future of AEW! And also, that Kris Statlander is going to make history! She will be the first woman to have ever won the TBS Championship and the AEW Women’s World Championship! And he’s sure people are wondering how she’s gonna do that, and Stoke is gonna tell you. She makes history again by entering the 2024 Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup! Kris will win that, go to Wembley, beat whoever is champion, hold that AEW Women’s World title up high, and there is no one, and Stoke means NO ONE that can stop her! Will Kris’s stats be astronomical after pulling off such an achievement?
Backstage interview with Willow Nightingale.
Lexy finds the Babe with The Power just as she’s entering the building, and asks her her reaction to Stokely announcing Kris’ entering the Women’s Owen Hart Cup. Willow says that’s interesting. As last year’s Owen Cup winner, it is only fitting that she announces her own entry. Willow tells Stat that she hopes to see her in the tournament. Then what is Willow doing here tonight? Oh, just keeping an eye on the action. Willow heads out, will these former friends fight over who heads for Wembley?
Dustin Rhodes VS Johnny TV w/ Taya Valkyrie!
If there’s anyone who knows about being #TVReady, it’s The Natural. Dustin has been part of FIVE DIFFERENT DECADES of pro-wrestling, and he doesn’t look to be done yet! Will Dustin show Jonny a thing or two about a thing or two? Or will Dustin be taking a ride on Starship Pain all the way to Slam Town?
The bell rings and Johnny tells the fans to shut up about Dustin. They tie up, Dustin puts Johnny in a corner, but Johnny blocks the haymaker! Johnny wrenches, kicks low, then fires body shots! Johnny ROCKS Dustin, ROCKS him again, but Dustin UPPERCUTS! And UPPERCUTS again! And then he DECKS Johnny! Dustin headlocks, Johnny powers up and out, but Dustin runs him over! Things keep moving, Johnny hurdles and Dustin tumbles! Dustin rolls through that to roll out and hang out with Taya! The fans cheer, and then Dustin spooks Taya with a bark. But Johnny SLIDES out, gets between Dustin and Taya, only for Dustin to CANNONBALL!
The fans fire up with Dustin as he wipes out Mr. TV! Taya says, “How dare you!” Dustin stands Johnny up to CHOP! Dustin puts Johnny in, glares at Taya and Taya says she didn’t say anything. Dustin walks over to her, Taya says he is just a disgusting man. Johnny DIVES and takes Dustin out! Taya applauds, Johnny gets Dustin up and SMACKS him off steel steps! Taya talks trash and mockingly cheers Dustin. The fans actually cheer Dustin, but Johnny & Taya stand on him while they make out! Who’s disgusting? The fans boo, Taya & Johnny stop sucking face, and Collision goes picture in picture.
Johnny steps down so he can stand Dustin up. Johnny ROCKS Dustin, reels him in, and then APRON COMPLETE SHOTS! Dustin flounders into the ring, Johnny stalks him and clamps on a chinlock. Dustin endures, Taya mocks the fans again, but the fans still rally for Dustin. Johnny shifts his grip but Dustin fights up to fire body shots. Johnny ROCKS Dustin then DECKS him! Johnny stomps Dustin, then runs to SHINING WIZARD! Johnny goes back for another kiss from Taya, then stalks Dustin again. Johnny KICKS Dustin, SUPERKICKS him, then grins as he paces. Taya taunts the fans and Johnny goes back for more. Johnny wants a Spider-Man kiss!
Taya kisses Johnny while he’s upside-down, but Dustin drags Johnny back in! CATAPULT into ropes! Johnny suffers for his love, and Collision goes to break.
Collision returns and both men rise up as the fans rally. Dustin hits first, but Johnny hits back! The haymakers go back and forth, with the fans behind Dustin. Dustin rebounds to UPPERCUT! Johnny ROCKS Dustin, fires fast hands, then hits low! Johnny kicks, runs, but then steals the RHODES- NO! Dustin won’t let Johnny use his move! Dustin UPPERCUTS Johnny, kicks, and RHODES UPPERCUTS! Dustin runs side to side, BOOT then BULLDOG! The fans fire up as Johnny staggers around. Dustin CLOBBERS Johnny, CLOBBERS him again, and the fans fire up! Dustin runs but Johnny BOOTS back!
Johnny runs up, but into a SNAP POWERSLAM! Cover, TWO! Johnny stays in this but Dustin drags him up. Dustin reels Johnny in, but Johnny wrenches out to kick and MOONLIGHT DRIVE! Cover, TWO!! Dustin survives and Taya is upset but Johnny keeps his cool. The fans rally up for Dustin, but Johnny Alabama Lifts! But Dustin grabs ropes to deny the slam! The ref counts, Johnny yanks Dustin free, but Dustin turns this into a DESTROYER! The fans are thunderous and Dustin sets Johnny up in the ropes! The ref reprimands, Taya says don’t! Taya gets up but she distracts the ref! SHATTERED DREAMS!!
Dustin reels Johnny in for the CROSS RHODES!! Cover, but Taya helps with the ROPEBREAK! The fans boo as the ref totally missed that! Dustin tells Taya to stop it! Taya says Dustin can’t do nothing! But he blocks the slap! The ref then EJECTS Taya!! The fans fire up as Mrs. TV freaks out! Dustin hurries in but Johnny LOW BLOWS Dustin! Then ROUNDHOUSES!! Cover, TWO!!! Dustin survives but Johnny hurries to drag him around! Johnny rains down forearms to keep Dustin in the drop zone. The fans boo as Johnny KNEES Dustin down! Johnny KNEES Dustin again, and again! Johnny goes up, STARSHIP FLOP!!
The fans fire up as Dustin dodges, then he gives a SHINING WIZARD back! Dustin hurries to suplex Johnny, FINAL RECKONING!! Cover, Dustin wins!
Winner: Dustin Rhodes, by pinfall
Johnny & Taya tried to take this away from Dustin, but it was only natural that the good guy wins in the end! Dustin gets a mic to say, “Oh God, I’m getting old.” The fans assure him, “You Still Got It!” Dustin thanks them, and says this doesn’t happen a lot for him after a match. He has two things to talk about tonight. One: the fans themselves. For almost 40 YEARS, the fans have not abandoned him. He thanks them for accepting him, turning on their TVs to watch him entertain them. He loves and appreciates them all. Dustin also thanks the talent in the back, the production crew, and Tony Khan for all the support right now. And that includes these cameramen.
These are the best cameramen in the business, they’re all number one. But the second thing, and the most important thing, and it really pisses him off… But Dustin wants to talk about the one they call “Scapegoat” Jack Perry. The fans boo that name. Dustin tells Jack that when he left, AEW did miss him. The fans are a bit torn on that. But when Jack came back, they were happy to see him. And what’d he do? Jack attacked Dustin’s boss! The man who pays them their money! The man who gave Jack his second chance! Jack disgusts Dustin. Jack joins up with The Elite? C’mon, man…
And lately, Jack’s been talking about sacrifice. Jack’s sacrifices for this business. Let Dustin tell you something, boy! Jack was born with a silver spoon in his mouth! He’s never worked a day in his GADDAM LIFE! Sacrifice? Sacrifice is losing your job, being handed a watch, and a computer took your job. Then you pick up two jobs just to make ends meet, and the money’s still less somehow! THAT is sacrifice! But for 37 YEARS, Dustin has sacrificed for family, the most important thing in his life! “Jack, to put it simply, you ain’t sacrificed S*IT!!”
When Dustin first met little Jack, they took a picture, and Dustin thought, “What a cool kid.” But knowing what he knows now, Dustin can’t see anything other than a spoiled brat. So listen up very carefully, Jack. The reason Jack is mediocre right now is because he’s not a leader but a follower! Jack’s always been a follower! And if Jack’s not a leader, which he sure as Hell ain’t, then as his dad would say, the view never changes! The fans cheer for “DUSTY! DUSTY!” and Dustin looks to Heaven. Dustin then tells Jack, “You and I have a match this Wednesday on Dynamite. Jack… I am going to DESTROY your little punk ass!
“You can’t beat me fair and square, and I’ll mark my whole career on that! And this Wednesday night, when it’s all over and you’re laying in a pile of heap, you will never forget my name! The Natural, Dustin Rhodes!” The fans are all fired up for that! Will Dustin teach Jack Perry all about #HardTimes?
AEW hears from Zack Sabre Jr.
“AEW fans rejoice. You’re listening to the dulcet tones of Zack Sabre Jr. Now we are fast approaching that magical time of the bloody year, The Naughty Door. And it would not be complete without the greatest technical wrestler in the world, Zed S J. And this year, I’m returning for unfinished business. Freshly Squeezed Orange Bollocks, you’ve got the juicy bits. You get your ass to New York, June 30th, Forbidden Door. I’ll see you there, darling.” The Submission Master wants to settle the score with Cassidy, will he make Cassidy #JustTapOut?
The Premier Athletes w/ Mark Sterling VS Trip Jordy & Dante Leon!
Tony Nese & Ariya Daivari tried to make a fool out of Hook, but Samoa Joe was the only reason Hook didn’t make ground beef out of them. Will the Premier Athletes prove they’ve got what it takes to back up their talk?
The teams- NEVERMIND, Nese & Daivari just attack! The bell rings, Nese whips Dante to a corner, he and Daivari mug him! The fans boo, Nese & Daivari let off. Trip runs up but is sent into Dante, and they both get mugged! Nese & Daivari TOSS Trip out, then Daivari gets Dante for the LION’S LARIAT! Nese TOSSES Dante out, but Trip returns! Daivari bucks the O’Conner, Nese gets him with a PREMIER DRIVER! Cover, Premier Athletes win!
Winners: The Premier Athletes, by pinfall
Sterling raises his guys’ hands in victory, but needless to say, the guys they faced aren’t anything close to Hook & Joe. Will the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil & The Samoan Submission Specialist be much more than just a workout for Nese & Daivari?
Scorpio Sky speaks.
“I’ve been listening. And I hear you. There’s a gap in this company. You feel it. One by one, all of your heroes have fallen. Who else do you got? They say an open hand is not as strong as a closed fist. Now is the time for us to come together. And standing on the backs of those fallen heroes, we can reach the stars. I will be your hero. I will be your voice. And eventually, I will be your champion. Because I’m here for you.” Scorpio smiles, but not for long. Will he come through on his promise to win it all “for us?”
Toni Storm w/ Mariah May & Luther VS Lady Frost!
The Leading Lady told us last night that she is going to turn up the heat, and things are certainly heating up as Mariah is finding herself stuck between her two mentors. Will the AEW Women’s World Champion stay sharp as she prepares for Mina Shirakawa? Or will Frost be so cold that she earns her own shot at the gold?
The bell rings and the fans rally as the two circle. They tie up, Storm arm-drags then poses. The fans cheer but Frost stays cool. Frost and Storm reset, circle, and tie up. Frost blocks an arm-drag, so Storm wrenches to a wristlock instead. Frost cartwheels then arm-drags back! The fans cheer as Storm goes to a corner. Storm is flustered but she resets with Frost. They circle again, tie up, and Frost wrenches to knuckle locks, then a spin and cording hold. Storm powers her way out to wrench and wristlock. Frost moves around, rolls, but Storm wrenches again. Storm whips, Frost reverses then says FREEZE! So Storm poses!
The fans cheer, Frost is flustered but she trips Storm! Things speed up, Frost ducks ‘n ‘dodges to handspring and RANA! Storm tumbles out of the ring, Frost fakes a plancha! Frost then mule kicks, then ASAI MOONSAULTS! The fans fire up while Mariah checks on Storm. Frost has her step aside, and Collision goes picture in picture.
Luther helps Storm up while Mariah distracts Frost, and Storm is safe in the ring! Frost is annoyed but she hurries back in. Frost brings Storm around to CHOP! Storm staggers away, Frost storms up on her and CHOPS again! They go to a third corner, but Storm avoids the chop to CHOP in return! Storm brings Frost around to CHOP again! Frost drops to her knees, but Storm gets her up to snap suplex! Cover, TWO! Storm brushes her stinging chest to then get Frost up. Frost throws body shots, but Storm ROCKS her! Storm snapmares Frost for a HIP ATTACK! And another HIP ATTACK! And then a wind up and HIP ATTACK!
Storm drags Frost up, whips her to a corner, then CHOPS! Storm reels Frost in for a BACKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Frost stays in this but Storm stays on her. Storm has the arms for a motorcycle stretch! Frost endures, fights up, but Storm shifts to a full nelson! Storm thrashes Frost around, Frost fights up, but Storm TOSSES her! Storm stalks Frost to a corner, bumps her off buckles, then stomps a mudhole in. Storm CHOPS Frost, swaggers to the far corner, and Collision returns to single picture. Storm poses for her close up, then runs up, but Frost avoids the hips! Frost runs corner to corner to handspring CANNONBALL into only buckles!
Storm hurries back in, SWEET HIP MUSIC! Cover, TWO!! Storm is shocked that her second take didn’t do it! Storm gets Frost up but Frost switches. Frost pushes to ropes but Storm bucks the O’Conner! SKY- VICTORY ROLL! TWO!! Frost ROUNDHOUSES Storm, then cartwheels into the Alabama Lift, CHILLA DRILLA!! Cover, TWO?!? Storm survives Frost’s best shot! Storm gets Frost up, Frost trips Storm to a jackknife, TWO! Storm hurries for the SKY HIGH! Cover, TWO!
The fans rally as Frost goes to a corner. Storm runs in, but into an ELBOW! Frost BOOTS back, runs and cartwheels to Alabama Lift again! But Storm turns that into a STORM ZERO!! Cover, Storm wins!
Winner: Toni Storm, by pinfall
The Summer heat was too much for Frost and Storm stands tall! Mariah sits with Storm and Storm has a mic. Storm tells Mariah that she knows Mariah has been having a tough time recently. In a few weeks time, Storm faces Mariah’s former tag partner, Mina Shirakawa. Storm knows this is awkward for Mariah, but Mariah must know, Storm loves her so very much. Storm is just so proud of Mariah, and she should have all the same opportunities as Storm did. But Storm didn’t have someone looking out for her, and that is what Storm is going to be for Mariah. So as AEW Women’s World Champion, Storm is DEMANDING that Mariah be entered into the Women’s Owen Hart Cup!
The fans cheer and Mariah is honored! Storm vows to be there every step of the way, they’ll get through this together. No matter what happens, remember: chin up; tits out; and watch for the SHOE~! Will Mariah make Storm proud by becoming the 2024 Queen of Harts? Will Storm still have Mariah’s support at Forbidden Door?
BREAKING NEWS for next week’s Collision!
As part of the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY, there will be a TNT Championship Qualifying Match! Lee Moriarty will represent Shane Taylor Promotions against Dante Martin of Top Flight! STP called out the Martins, will Angel Dorado shut them up when he shuts #TAIGASTYLE down? Speaking of…
Backstage interview with Shane Taylor Promotions and Top Flight.
Lexy thanks all six men for agreeing to the No Physicality rule for this. Next week, Lee Moriarty VS Dante Martin is a qualifier for the TNT Championship ladder match. There is a longstanding history between these two, they were once friends training under Matt Sydal. Dante says that is true. Another fact is that Dante was Lee’s first opponent in AEW. Lee has grown leaps and bounds since that day. BUT, the results next week will still be the same. But hey, all in friendly competition, right? Lee says that’s crazy, because the last time they were in the ring together, Lee won that! So what makes Dante think that when the stakes are this high, it’ll be any different?
Shane says he appreciates this history lesson and all, but that’s all it was: history, the past. Just like their friendship. Now Lee is rolling with the baddest fight team in all of AEW. You think Dante can outwrestle one of the best technical wrestlers in the game today? What Top Flight does barely counts as wrestling, they’re just glorified stuntmen! The only one out of the three with any heart is Action Andretti! Action isn’t sure why he got singled out, but Shane says next week, we see who can really rumble. Tensions are running high, and it’s headed for a Collision next week. Who makes it through to head for The Forbidden Door?
Samoa Joe & Hook speak.
Joe asks “Speak ‘n’ Spell” what’s good, is this working? Katsuyori Shibata via Google Translate says yes, relax, he’s got the camera. Okay, follow them. This trio goes down the hall and Joe asks about lacrosse. Is that some sport y’all just invented? What? That’s like the oldest sport in North America. Oh, a game that’s half hockey and half soccer is somehow the oldest sport in America? Yeah, bro, older than both. Huh. Joe then walks up to a door, asks if Hook’s ready, and Hook says let’s get it. Joe slides the door open, and asks The Premier Athletes, “What’s up, boys?” Hook & Joe jump Daivari & Nese while Sterling shouts for help!
Joe tells Sterling to shut up, then throws him down! Joe tells Sterling to look at him! Hook, you watch this, too, because it’s important. Sterling opens his eyes while trembling, and Joe tells Sterling to remember who did this to them. Joe shoves Sterling down, he and Hook leave, and Shibata adds, “Next time, it’ll be wrestling.” Joe’s trio of BAMF’s heads out, will they make The Premier Athletes all eat their words?
Daniel Garcia VS Tate Mayfairs!
The Red Death returned home to Buffalo to refocus, as well as remember the day everything almost ended for him. Garcia wants after the International Championship, will he prove himself worthy in time for The Forbidden Door? Or will The UK’s (self-proclaimed) Best Wrestler of All Time prove he is worthy of his own international opportunities?

Backstage interview with Orange Cassidy.
Lexy is now with Freshly Squeezed, and says he has the big main event match up next, but she knows a lot has been on his mind lately. We saw that video from ZSJ calling him out, and Cassidy says yes, we did. As if he didn’t have enough to worry about. Cassidy has his match with Kyle tonight, all his friends have left him, having either given him a piledriver on steps or a punch in the face. Every other week for the past two years, it was like everyone wanted to team with him. He had so many friends. Now where’s everyone? All gone, he’s alone. And ZSJ wants to talk Forbidden Door? Cassidy has to get through tonight.
Lexy’s seen Kyle O’Reilly in action, right? And so, for the first time 1v1, Cassidy has Kyle. Cassidy thinks that’s like, now. He has to go, he can’t be here right now. Cassidy heads out, having said the most he’s said perhaps ever in his entire AEW career. Is Freshly Squeezed finally starting to feel the pressure of his star power? Can he hold it together against the Violent Artist?
Orange Cassidy VS Kyle O’Reilly!
We heard from both men tonight, and going by how he has The Pixies as his theme and the darker denim jacket on, Orange is in a sour mood. Will he end up bitter after losing tonight? Or will tasting sweet, sweet victory lighten Cassidy’s mood?
Oh and of course, The Undisputed Kingdom makes sure Kyle notices they’re in the crowd for him. The bell rings, Kyle and Cassidy circle. The fans rally and duel, the two men tie up, and Kyle waistlocks. Kyle then shifts to wrench an arm, wristlocks it, but Cassidy works his way into a roll, sits there, then rolls back to wrench back! Kyle kicks Cassidy away, goes for a leg, then brings Cassidy down. Kyle floats to a headlock and he grinds Cassidy down. Cassidy kicks around, the fans rally, and Cassidy less kips free and more scoots free. The fans cheer as Cassidy flops to the ropes. Kyle sits down and waits on Cassidy.
Kyle reclines back, leg guard up, and dares Cassidy to go for the groin. Cassidy isn’t so sure about that, but Kyle stays facing him no matter where Cassidy goes. Kyle then rolls back for an upside-down guard. Cassidy being perplexed is something new, but then Cassidy sits down to dare Kyle to go for the groin. Kyle BOOTS Cassidy, knuckle locks, but Cassidy denies the top mount to MONKEY FLIP! Cassidy rolls back, but into the body scissors! KIMURA, but Cassidy has the ROPEBREAK! Kyle lets go cleanly, and the fans rally behind him. The Kingdom really pour it on, too. Kyle and Cassidy tie up, and Kyle headlocks.
Cassidy powers up and out, but Kyle avoids the arm-drag to trip Cassidy. Kyle steps all over Cassidy, runs, but blocks the hip toss to go for a hip toss, only for Cassidy to turn that around! Cassidy drags Kyle to a lateral press, ONE! Kyle has the ghost pin, ONE! Cassidy shifts around to ghost pin, TWO! Kyle shifts to ghost pin, TWO! Cassidy shifts and Oklahoma Rolls, TWO! Cassidy bails out, The Kingdom is there to taunt him, and Collision goes picture in picture.
Cassidy paces, frowns, and goes back inside. Cassidy then slides back out, getting a fresh count. Cassidy lazy fist bumps fans, then he goes back into the ring. Cassidy and Kyle reset, tie up, and Kyle wrenches to a wristlock. Kyle drags Cassidy down and headscissor holds! Cassidy endures, but Kyle pushes up to put on the squeeze! Cassidy kicks but can’t kip free, and Kyle puts on more pressure! Cassidy headstands, then kicks to pop free. Cassidy puts his hands up, but Kyle keeps them from the pockets! Kyle drags Cassidy around into the ARMBAR! Cassidy kicks and flails, ROPEBREAK! The erf counts, and Kyle lets off.
Cassidy shakes out his arms while he stands up, and he resets with Kyle again. They tie up, Cassidy headlocks, but Kyle endures. Cassidy wrenches to wristlock, then hammerlocks. Kyle switches the hammerlock onto Cassidy, and Collision goes to break.
Collision returns and Cassidy fights up, only for Kyle to headlock. Cassidy powers out to then headlock and takeover! Kyle pushes his forearms into Cassidy’s face, rolls him to a cover, ONE! They stand, Kyle powers up and out but Cassidy slips around to hit another headlock and takeover! The fans cheer this technical exchange, then they rally up and duel. Kyle fights up to throw body shots, then he sends Cassidy to a corner. Kyle runs in, Cassidy slides under, but then Kyle rebounds to slide under Cassidy! Kyle goes for a leg, Cassidy steps over and wrenches. Kyle wrenches back, suplexes, STUN DOG- NO! Kyle stops the stunner for a SLEEPER!
Cassidy flails, reaches out, but Kyle rolls him back! But Cassidy rolls through, gets the wrists, and he uses ZSJ’s EURO CLUTCH! TWO!! Kyle escapes, but then Cassidy puts hands up! Kyle stops him from putting them in pockets! Cassidy still tires, but Kyle fights those off! Kyle uses a shoulder to block one, then clinches! Cassidy fights to reach for his pants, but Kyle still holds the arms up! So Cassidy puts his hands together and slips out the bottom! The fans cheer as Cassidy gives a lazy thumbs up! Cassidy then ducks the buzzsaw! Hands up, and in pockets! The fans cheer but Kyle is annoyed. Kyle whips, Cassidy rolls then hurdles, then MONKEY FLIPS!
Cassidy kips up, but Kyle KICKS, SLAPS, KNEES and KICKS! LEG SWEEP! The Kingdom is all fired up for Kyle, and Kyle KICKS Cassidy in the back! Kyle drags Cassidy up, wrenches an arm, and hits an ELBOW BREAKER! Kyle whips Cassidy to a corner, Cassidy goes up and out, ducks a shot and bumps Kyle off buckles! And off more buckles! Then he DECKS Cassidy with a forearm! SLAM the leg, DECK Cassidy!
The Kingdom cheers and that just annoys and confuses Kyle. Roddy whispers something to Kyle, perhaps one of his “secrets” to defeating Cassidy? But then Cassidy storms up to ROCK Kyle! And again! Kyle gets the leg, DRAGON SCREW and Cassidy is sent into the barriers! The Kingdom fires up, the ref checks Cassidy, but Kyle storms up on Cassidy. Kyle gets the leg again, DRAGON SCREW and again Cassidy hits barriers! Could this be the hint Roddy gave Kyle? Kyle puts Cassidy in, then stalks Cassidy to a corner. The Kingdom cannot believe it! Cassidy was combat ready and grits it out against Kyle in their first 1v1 encounter ever. Fletcher stomps away on O’Reilly, it’s Kyle on Kyle violence! BUT WAIT! Kris slides in! Kris taps Trent on the shoulder and he lets off. They shake hands, they’re still friends. The fans boo as Kris then sits Cassidy up, but he’s dead weight! But here comes WILLOW! Willow slides in, Kris runs away! The Babe with the Power warned Kris that they’ll see each other soon enough. But will Willow and Cassidy have to watch each other’s backs if they want a fair shake against Kris and Trent?
My Thoughts:
A great Collision, with some real story development here. Kris of course beats Renegade and I do like her getting in the Women’s Owen Hart Cup. Good stuff with the new tron and Stokely’s promos, too. Willow also had a good promo in response, and we should’ve of course seen how things would go at the end of tonight. Awesome main event from Cassidy VS O’Reilly, with good stuff from The Kingdom ringside the whole time. Great win for Cassidy, and then of course Trent attacks with back-up from Fletcher. Kris also looks to add on, but good counter from Willow. I was expecting a Mixed Tag, maybe we get a Mixed Six if they want Kyle and Kyle included. Chances are, one of the Kyles takes the loss, maybe The Kingdom screws around to keep it protected.
The opening tag match of FTR VS Claudio & Yuta was awesome stuff as far as action, and pulling a time limit draw was fine. Cutler showed up to mouth off on behalf of the EVPs so him getting beat up was fun. Maybe the BCC become allies to FTR against The EVPs? The Acclaimed is already gunning for the tag titles as it is, could something really big be in the works? Good squash win for Nese & Daivari, and I really liked Joe, Hook and supposedly Shibata jumping them in the locker room. Pretty sure we get a Six Man Tag, where Nese, Daivari & Josh Woods take on Joe, Hook & Shibata. Could be a way to build Joe, Hook & Shibata as a trio before taking on Bang Bang Gang.
Very good promo from Shane Taylor Promotions and Top Flight. The way Shane’s putting Action over, could STP be trying to recruit him away from Top Flight? Either way, Lee VS Dante is going to be really good stuff next week, either man is a great choice for the ladder match. Garcia VS Tate was really good but really quick because of course Garcia was gonna win. Garcia being from Buffalo, New York, I am very sure they’ll give him an International Championship match for Forbidden Door, and he could possibly even win the title. Garcia needs something, this would be the right spot if Ospreay is staring down double duty between the International title defense and challenging for the AEW World title.
Very good match from Storm and Frost, and good win for Storm. Her little promo with Mariah to put her in the Women’s Owen Hart Cup was good, but this is definitely setting things up for Storm VS Mariah in Wembley. Mariah could help Storm retain the title at Forbidden Door, then shockingly betray her on the build to All In. That would be some wild stuff after all these months of Mariah being a loyal protege. And then great stuff with Dustin VS Johnny TV. Great win for Dustin, and a great promo from him calling out Jack Perry. Dustin VS Jack is going to be great stuff, and could even be how Jack earns his way into the TNT Championship match, just as I was sensing on Wednesday.
My Score: 8.8/10

Tony Schiavone is in the ring!
Schiavone welcomes out the Blue League’s current points leader, Kyle Fletcher, and of course… Don Callis. But they’re not alone as the rest of the Don Callis Family makes their way out to the ring. Wait, shouldn’t Brian Cage be in New York for Final Battle…? Well anyway, Schiavone says there’s a lot of gold and- Callis takes the mic, and he says, “I have something important to say.” The fans boo and Schiavone excuses himself as Callis says the Don Callis Family are the TRUE One Percenters of professional wrestling! They prove it each and every day!

And now, he’s gonna beat Daniel Garcia and win the Continental Classic! Callis hands the mic over to Kyle and Kyle says it might be true that last Saturday wasn’t the best day for Kyle, but anyone watching that match saw the clear bias from the officials in this company! The fans boo as Kyle claims there is an agenda in AEW to see the Don Callis Family NOT succeed. But it doesn’t matter, it changes nothing!
Kyle WILL be the winner of the 2024 Continental Classic. That brings Kyle to Daniel Garcia. “You wanna talk about restoring the feeling, Daniel? I couldn’t care less about your feelings! All I speak are facts! And the fact is, I am the hottest young prospect in this industry, and I will be the future of this whole place!” The fans boo more but Callis says one last thing he wants to say, is when you’re the One Percent, you’re not like the other 99! They are not like all of these fans! They are not like “the boys in the back,” like Mark Davis & Will Hobbs, “a couple of scab workers!” They’re not even in the same business, Hobbs!
And Callis has waited to get Hobbs on a PPV so that the world could watch why they call Konosuke Takeshita “The Alpha.” And Hobbs, YOU are not in the same business as Konosuke, and you find that out at Worlds End! But speaking of, here comes the Powerhouse! Will he and Dunkzilla finish things with the Don Callis Family? Or will the AEW International and ROH World TV Champions get even for last week?

Renee Paquette is with the Babe with the Power who is in action later tonight. But first, Renee wants to congratulate Willow to making it to the finals of the inaugural International Women’s Cup. Lio Rush & Action Andretti VS Myles Hawkins & Goldy!
The dysfunction in Top Flight Airlines led to The Bad Child & The Sight to See winning over Darius & Dante Martin, meaning they’re next up to face Private Party. Will this be little more than a tune-up for Lio & Action?

In steps Penelope Ford, and Mrs. Superbad says yes, she was simply observing. But Ford couldn’t help but notice that she and Harley share a lot of similar… facets. Harley asks how much Ford’s cost. Uh, no, not those…
Ford meant that she hasn’t had such a good 2024, either. So from The Bad Girl to the… Harley doesn’t have a good nickname yet. Well, don’t worry about it. AEW Continental Classic, Gold League: Brody King VS Komander!
While the rest of Gold League stands at 6 points, these two men are struggling to keep up. Will the King of Death join that traffic jam at the front of the block? Or will the Commander of the Skies be a spoiler for Christmas?
The bell rings and we’re on the clock. Brody and Komander circle while the fans bark it up. There are fans who sing “OLE~ OLE OLE OLE~” for Komander as the two tie up. Brody flips Komander around, GONZO BOMB!! Cover, Brody wins!!
Winner: Brody King, by pinfall (gains 3 points; Komander earns 0)
If it wasn’t clear before, this was a painful punctuation mark, Komander is mathematically ELIMINATED from the semifinals. However, Komander’s final C2 match is Dynamite’s Miracle on 34th Street against Claudio Castagnoli! Can Komander be the biggest spoiler of this entire tournament? Can Brody prove to everyone in the Gold League that the House Always Wins?
My Thoughts:
A great Rampage here for Holiday Bash, though some clear redundancies from last week’s Winter is Coming edition. We got another group Don Callis Promo, and we barely got anything different from Callis and Kyle. The tag match’s only changes were Cage switching in for Archer, even though Cage is in reality defending his ROH World TV Championship in the Hammerstein Ballroom for Final Battle, and then the Callis Family wins this time so Hobbs and Konosuke can be even going towards Worlds End. Now, Konosuke could very well retain the International Championship at Worlds End because NJPW is totally open to Konosuke Takeshita VS Shingo Takagi being Winner Takes All, AEW International and NEVER Openweight titles on the line together.
Lio & Action of course won their match, but the real purpose was to get a confrontation out of them, Private Party and OG Top Flight, Darius & Dante. Good stuff, and it teases anywhere between a Triple Threat to Lio & Action VS Darius & Dante Round 2. Very good promo from Triple J to set up for something, anything really, for 2025. Fight for the Fallen can even be the start of whatever that plan is as part of the “mother of all streams.” And good stuff with the women’s division tonight. Ford & Harley makes a natural duo now given their names, and Willow and Kris could possibly reunite now that Kris is a Face again. That wouldn’t really make up for the weird fumble in the middle where Tony Khan just wanted Kris to get away from Stokely, but hey, this story itself could be really well done.
And great stuff out of Brody VS Komander, really got the drama going before the end. I mean, we all knew Komander was out of the running before tonight, and was most certainly taking the loss here, but Komander got to really show some grit. And now, five people at 6 points going into the final round, they’re really adding great drama to Gold League. Collision tomorrow and then Dynamite Miracle on 34th Street will be some great stuff, but I still think Ospreay should be one of the semifinalists, the second spot can be whoever they want.
My Score: 8.8/10

Backstage interview with Orange Cassidy and Jay White.
Renee Paquette is with Freshly Squeezed and The Switchblade, and says that ahead of their main event Trios match where they team up with Hangman Page, they also must be thinking about their Fatal 4 Way match for the AEW World Championship at Worlds End. Are they more focused on the Death Riders tonight? Or more on each other? Cassidy’s about to speak when White asks Renee to bring the mic over to him. White says Cassidy already gave them a hell of a pep talk in the locker room so he’s all talked out. Where is our focus? Is it on the Death Riders tonight? Is it on each other? Is it on Worlds End?
Make no mistake, Renee, and Mr. Cassidy, White’s focus is on the AEW World Championship. But White knows that they have to make it to Worlds End, so that means relying on people he usually doesn’t rely on. He has no Bang Bang Gang, so that makes he has to rely on the likes of… Orange. And on the likes of Hangman Adam Page. But no, no, no, he is not so stupid to rely on that guy, because he’s only good at one thing: Letting himself and everyone around him down time and time again! So if there is one man they do not need on this team, it is H- HEY! There he is! Hangman Page walks into the room and White does a 180 on his attitude.
Hangman tells White to shut his mouth and listen up. Tonight, Moxley is not White’s nor is he Cassidy’s. Tonight, the champion belongs to Hangman! The Cowboy heads out and White says, “Aye, aye, captain! At least you brought your black jacket so we’re matching tonight! C’mon, partner!” White heads after Hangman, and Cassidy sighs as he puts on his sunglasses. Can the Good, the Bad & the Freshly Squeezed make it past Moxley and his Death Riders? Or will The Maniac, The Decoder & The Bastard use this dysfunction to tear them down?
Darby Allin speaks.
“Darby Allin, Will Ospreay. It’s showtime.”
Will Ospreay speaks.
“Oi, oi, Washington, DC! You’re in for a treat tonight, for the C2 rolls on, and you get to witness an elite dream match as the Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay, goes one-on-one with Darby Allin. And while I am grateful for saving my neck last week, sir, don’t let that stand in the way because it’s time for warfare, bruv. And no one fairs better in warfare than the Assassin. So allow me to show you why my name is Will Ospreay, and why I am on another level.” Both men need this win if they want to head for Worlds End, who will be one step closer to those semifinals?
AEW TBS Championship: Mercedes Mone VS Anna Jay!
The CEO is still #TwoBeltsMone after holding onto the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship through NJPW Strong Style Evolved. FTR speaks.
Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler were at home in Asheville, North Carolina, and Cash says it has been a few days since what happened to them on Collision. And it was over nothing. FTR said they had no problems with the Death Riders. They may not agree with the Death Riders’ methods, and they don’t disagree with the message. AEW does need to change for the better, some people need to be forced into that change. But FTR stopped them from poisoning a man! They weren’t going to sit back and watch them pour cleaning solution down a human being’s throat. That is all they did. And yet that gets them blindfolded, dragged outside, and the crap kicked out of them, left for dead in the cold…
As they were lying on the concrete, Dax was thinking, “What is a life after wrestling? Is there a life after wrestling for FTR?” They built their whole lives around this one thing, so what else is there for them to do? They got off the phone with Doc Sampson just before filming this. Doc says he won’t medically cleared them for the rest of the year. So from now until January 1st, Death Riders better not sleep, because FTR will show up at their doorstep. That won’t be good for them or their families. But on January 1st, Asheville, NC, FTR will be there. They will be in that ring, they will be cleared, and they will fight the Death Riders.
By the way, they won’t be coming alone. #TopGuysOut. Who could Dax & Cash be hinting at as allies against Moxley and his minions?
MJF is here!
Washington, DC is not all that happy to see Maxwell Jacob Friedman going to the ring with a mic in hand, even if he’s dressed in his Hannukah suit. MJF has them cut his music, and he takes a moment to hear all the booing. “Oh, you don’t like me, huh, guys? Good thing I don’t care about the opinions of a bunch of disgustings from DC. I mean, if I did care about your opinion, I wouldn’t have signed on to be an AEW wrestler, I would’ve signed on to become a part of your whack-ass Washington Wizards. Oh, it’s my fault they suck? That’s my fault? I’m sorry.” Some fans actually chant, “Wizards Suck! Wizards Suck!”
MJF says let’s face it, guys. He’s no Scrooge. For crying out loud, it’s the most wonderful time~ of the year~! MJF says pretty soon, the most important holiday, which is part of the most important religion, is coming up. And yes, you guessed it, it’s Hannukah. And if you don’t celebrate that, well sorry, Santa is not real and MJF is not sorry for saying it. The fans chant for “SANTA! SANTA!” which confuses MJF. Santa didn’t give them a lump of coal, it was because their parents were too poor to get real gifts. So everyone just pipe down a bit, okay? The fans boo but MJF continues.
MJF says Hannukah is all about giving, so he is feeling rather philanthropic. Not that anyone in this crowd knows what that means. MJF is about to get a bit emotional, but he wants to talk about a fundraiser he has started. Sorry, he might cry, give him a second. MJF gets fake tears going as he asks for the sad music. The sad piano music plays, and MJF looks into the camera. “Picture this. There’s a small child sitting across from you. It is starving, it needs nourishment, it needs food. Now picture that that small child is this baybay.” A clearly doctored photo of Adam Cole appears on screen, making him look very scrawny.
MJF knows it is hard to look at but don’t avert your eyes. Cut the music, please. The music stops and MJF says right now, if you wanna help the “freakishly small, yellow baybay, all you have to do is scan the QR code you see on your screen so you can buy the Worlds End PPV this Saturday, December 28th. Guys, I’m talking, would you please shut the hell up? Unreal! To think I’m opening up to you hear. And if you buy that PPV, a part of your money will go towards my foundation to help put this small yellow child out of his misery. And for that, and for the fact that I’m better than you, you can thank me later!”
MJF drops the mic but Cole is on the tron! Adam Cole says look! Now he’s the one on the big screen while MJF is the one in the ring, looking like an idiot. As we all know, it is Cole VS MJF for the Dynamite Diamond Ring at Worlds End. And Cole wants to give MJF a heads up. He just had a meeting with Tony Khan. And because Cole knows how badly MJF wants to get his hands on his diamond ring. And if MJF wants to grab that ring before the bell rings, he’ll have to earn it. There are two men who will be ringside to make sure that doesn’t happen. The Kingdom step in, and Adam Cole says MJF will have nowhere to run, and nowhere to hide.
MJF is a dead man and Cole will finally finish this at Worlds End! BOOM. Oh, wait, hold on. Cole must be forgetting something. There was one more thing he wanted to say. Oh, right! Max, is Cole kicking your ass yet? MJF is confused, but surprise! Adam Cole is already in the ring! That video is prerecorded! MJF turns around, and Cole DECKS him! The fans fire up as Cole rains down fists on MJF! MJF pushes Cole away but Cole keeps him from getting away! SUPERKICK! MJF is down, but Cole drags him up and goes to a corner! The fans fire up for the PANAMA- NO, MJF scrambles out of the ring!
MJF gets away by the skin of his teeth, but will Cole kick those teeth down his throat and finally end the Dynamite Diamond Win Streak?
Jamie Hayter speaks.
“You can’t fight what you don’t see. But I see you exactly for what you are, Julia: a coward. Last Saturday on Collision, you decided to finally show up. But was it face to face? No, ma’am. It was when I was beat, when I was tired, and you used your tricks to attack me from behind. That’s a sneaky, classless move, Julia. Message sent. I know you’re listening, Julia, so here’s my message to you. Fight for the Fallen. I’m gonna serve you a dish best served cold. I’m gonna drop you on your head, and I’m gonna serve you up a heavy dose of Hayterade. See you then, mate.” Will Hayter kick off the New Year by crushing Julia Hart?
Hook & Katsuyori Shibata VS Christian Cage & Nick Wayne w/ The Patriarchy!
The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil wants revenge for what The Patriarchy did to his father, Taz, and this could be a start. Will The Wrestler’s return to AEW be just the thing? Or will Captain Charisma and The Prodigy look to #SendHook home emptyhanded?

Shibata tags Hook but Christian gets away to tag Nick! Nick storms up but Hook drop steps to waistlock! Nick flails, throws elbows, and then TOSSES Hook out! Hook lands on the apron, and he DUMPS Nick out! Christian runs up but Hook ROCKS Christian first!
Shibata storms in and UPPERCUTS Christian! Hook RAMS Christian, then SHOVELS him up and out onto Nick! The fans fire up as the Patriarchy is down! Hook tags Shibata and Shibata storms over. Christian whispers to Nick and they go to the ring slowly. Shibata waits on someone to get in, and even sits down cross legged! Christian storms up but Shibata stands. Nick has the ROPEBREAK but Hook drags him back!
Nick fights, flails, turns things around, and Christian HOTSHOTS the bad arm! The fans boo as the ref misses that, and then Nick BLASTS Shibata! Nick grabs Hook’s bad arm and drags him around while Dynamite goes picture in picture,
Nick drags Hook up to wrench and ELBOW BREAKER! Cover, TWO! Nick watches Hook writhe and crawl to a corner, then storms up on him. Nick drags Hook up to bump him off buckles. Tag to Christian and they mug Hook, going after that bad arm! Christian SLAMS the bad arm against buckles! Christian then throws Hook down, and he STOMPS the arm! BREAKING NEWS for Christmas Collision!
As a reminder, it will be LIVE coast to coast on TNT this Saturday, 8 PM Eastern or whenever NCAA College Football Playoff coverage ends. That said, Adam Cole may have gotten one over on MJF tonight, but he and MJF are going to be face to face live and in person for final words before Worlds End. Plus, the Continental Classic will keep things cheery and bright as Darby Allin will face Claudio Castagnoli, and Will Ospreay will face Ricochet! Rivals all face off, who will look to take over Gold League? And in Blue League, Mark Briscoe battles The Beast Mortos while Daniel Garcia faces Shelton Benjamin! Will the Sussex County Chicken survive the menacing minotaur? Will Red Death live up to the Standard of Excellence?
Chris Jericho speaks.
“I was once known as The King of the World. And everybody wants to rule the world. But every king needs a throne from which to rule. A castle, a capital, a city. And there is no better perch, no greater vantage point from which to rule the world than New York City. From the urine soaked sidewalks of Broadway to the tear-filled potholes of Jamaica Queens. From the brownstones of Tribeca to the poshest penthouses of Spanish Harlem. From the lowliest of subjects, the ubiquitous rats, to the prominent powerbrokers and popstars, paparazzi in their wake, all have anointed me, Chris Jericho, the King of New York! And I’ll be damned if I let anyone take my crown.”
The Learning Tree thinks highly of himself as always, but he better take Final Battle seriously! Friday, December 20th, Jericho defends the ROH World Heavyweight Championship against Matt Cardona, who is #AlwayZReady! Will “The Complete” Cardona take away the Nueve’s title?
Mariah May speaks.
“Thunder Rosa. When you were working as a social worker, why did you wanna become a wrestler? Was it to make your family proud? Cute. A hero is just a dreamer who doesn’t realize they’re dreaming. I’m no hero. I spent my entire career just looking out for me, and I’d say it’s served me pretty well. How dare you say this Women’s Division is alive and well when I’ve eclipsed everyone here, just by being me. And if I was here four years ago, you wouldn’t have even been hired. So let’s do your little Tijuana Street Fight so you can go on about your heritage and your culture, and please bring your father. I would love to end two generations in one night.
“And Papa Rosa? Does being a failure run in the family? I won’t be bringing my father to Worlds End. I don’t want him to se what I’m going to do.” The Glamour has sent her ultimatum, but will she regret running her mouth?
Tony Schiavone is in the ring.
Schiavone says that later tonight, we will see Will Ospreay VS Darby Allin in the Continental Classic. But Ospreay has his work cut out for him as live this Saturday on Christmas Collision, in the Hammerstein Ballroom, he will face this man! Let’s welcome in Ricochet! The fans fire up as The One & Only makes his way to the ring. Schiavone congratulates Ricochet on his six points so far, and says he could advance to Orlando, Florida. But there has been perhaps a change in attitude and demeanor lately. Ricochet says, “But didn’t it look real good on me, though?” Schiavone says sure, but wait! Here comes the Hurt Business!
Ricochet is a little surprised, and maybe a little worried. Montel Vontavious Porter, Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin all go to the ring and fans sing along, “We Hurt People! We Hurt People!” Ricochet nervously asks what’s up, and MVP brings him in close. Ricochet says everyone looks great. They collectively look great! But honestly, he’s happy they’re here. He wants to ask them if they saw how he beat the brakes off of Komander. MVP says yeah, they saw that. Then did they see him handle Brody King? Yeah, they saw that. And Ricochet has six points! Ricochet figures after tonight, Shelton might have six points, and they could face each other in the near future.
Ricochet says they could keep this business on lock. Wow, you don’t say? Absolutely! Facts! Because the last two guys Ricochet has to face, they’re facing each other tonight, Ospreay and Darby. So Ricochet is going to watch that. And then Saturday, he has Ospreay. Ospreay will see that different side of Ricochet, you feeling him? MVP says yeah, he’s feeling it. Does Ricochet still have the business card? MVP wants to see it. Ricochet brings the card out, and Lashley grabs him by the neck! MVP takes the card, and he RIPS IT UP! MVP has revoked his invitation, and he says nobody likes a kiss ass. Lashley lets Ricochet go, straightens the suit out, and pats Ricochet on the back.
Ricochet leaves the ring, and he says they can talk about this later. MVP tells Shelton that he’s got business to handle, so go hurt somebody. MVP & Lashley fist bump with Shelton before Lashley heads out per Continental Classic rules. MVP joins commentary to watch this closely, will the Standard of Excellence be able to bring down The Beast Mortos?

Backstage interview with Ricochet.
Renee is now with The One & Only and asks about that interaction in the ring. It seems business with The Hurt Syndicate is off the table. Ricochet says honestly, he doesn’t know. They gave him the card, he thought he was doing what they wanted, but… Ricochet is a bit frazzled but he says that we’re not going to worry about that. The Syndicate can do what they do. But for Ricochet, he’ll worry about the Continental Classic. Like he said out there, “ya boy’s already got 6 points.” But on Saturday, he steps into the ring with one of the main reasons he even came to AEW, and that is Will Ospreay.
Ricochet says it is funny. He didn’t come to AEW just to step into the ring with Ospreay. He came here to shut the world up and prove he can beat Will Ospreay. And so, as he said, he is going to have his eyes glued to this next match, HAHA~~! But then he turns around and Swerve Strickland is there, as is Prince Nana sipping his coffee. Nana nods and Swerve says, “What up, turd?” Oh, cute, call him a turd. The fans are loudly chanting, “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” as Swerve says when Ricochet first showed up, it was only a matter of time before the real Rico- No, the real Trevor showed himself.
Oh, going there, huh? Yeah. But Swerve says in the 14 years of knowing Ricochet, Swerve thought Ricochet had changed. But turns out, no, that’s still the same ol’ Trevor: a follower. Hate to tell you, Ricochet, but that won’t work here. Because AEW is whose house? Swerve’s House! Ricochet laughs that off and says he was wondering how long it’d take for him to hear that stuff. He’s glad Swerve brought that. But he also knows the real Swerve. And Swerve didn’t win the C2, now did he? So Ricochet knows it will eat Swerve up when Ricochet does. HAHA~! Ricochet leaves and Swerve says that’s why Ricochet’s still bald.
But win, lose or draw for Ricochet, will Swerve be waiting on the other side of Worlds End with the Killshot?
RJ City presents Toni Storm: Portrait of a Rockstar.
Toni Storm introduces herself to RJ, even though they’ve met… She’s so excited, look at all the lights and cameras. So cool. RJ asks Toni to explain where she’s been. But wait, the Death Riders are flanking the ring, and Moxley has a chair! Cassidy, White & Hangman realize this, and now they stand back-to-back-to-back. They finally fight as a united front as they throw hands on the Death Riders! Cassidy DECKS Pac, White DECKS Claudio and Hangman DECKS Moxley! The Death Riders and their enemies brawl on the outside, but Marina makes sure Moxley gets outta there!
ORANGE PUNCH for Pac! Hangman and Yuta fire hands now and Hangman sends Yuta into railing! Hangman still wants to take out Moxley, but so do White and Cassidy. Will Worlds End be where Moxley’s reign of terror ends? Or will The Maniac AEW World Champion use all of his enemies against each other like he did tonight?
My Thoughts:
A great Dynamite here, a lot of action but also a lot of set-up for the following weeks. Great promo from FTR to give us a kayfabe reason for them to take time off for two weeks. Granted, everyone is getting time off next week because the Christmas episode is being recorded this weekend for that big Hammerstein Ballroom booking. But anyway, FTR and friends against Death Riders, that’ll be a lot of fun for Fight for the Fallen, can’t wait to see it. Great promo stuff from MJF and Adam Cole ahead of their Dynamite Diamond Ring match. I don’t usually cheer Heels but I could not help but laugh at the Photoshop’d extra skinny Adam Cole. Great use of prerecorded message from Cole, too. Their faceoff for Christmas Collision is probably the go-home segment and that could go either way.
Good promo from Hayter to call out Julia Hart, but I’m surprised their match won’t be on Worlds End. At the same time, I get it, Julia needs time to get that ring rust off before wrestling such a big match so a few more days to prepare is fine. Plus, if Hayter VS Hart is given proper time on Fight for the Fallen, that’ll really help that card and this feud. Very good vignette promo from Jericho to put himself over while also simultaneously putting down and putting over New York. As much as fans might want Cardona to win, I still feel Jericho is going to win so that he can take credit for ROH getting a cable TV deal.
Very good promo from Mariah May to call out Rosa and talk down on the Tijuana Street Fight. Depending on how AEW wants to play this, I could see Rosa winning since this is her match idea so that she and Toni Storm revisit their feud as if it were the first time. Because yes, they continue the genius idea that Toni Storm doesn’t remember anything of her AEW career. In essence, Toni seems to think she’s still that young indie wrestler who hadn’t even made it to WWE. This could be played as Toni just playing us all, or as Toni actually having another psychological break where she really thinks she’s old school Toni Storm, and it’s genius either way.
Great TBS Championship match from Mone, and of course she retained at Strong Style Evolved. Apparently Mone VS Hazuki was another great match from Mone, I wish I had the time to watch Strong Style Evolved. But Mone VS Kris for Worlds End followed by Mone VS Mina for WrestleDynasty, like, one of those has to give. Mone is still a great Heel, but she needs a comeuppance at some point, and the last big PPV of AEW 2024 and the first-ever WrestleDynasty are each proper stages for a big loss to happen. Then Mone can then focus on one company, and it’ll certainly be AEW over NJPW.
Very good tag match from Hook & Shibata VS The Patriarchy, but it works that The Patriarchy cheat this win. Hook VS Nick is going to happen in the Hammerstein Ballroom, though I think it’ll be for the Dynamite Miracle on 34th Street episode that’s being taped this weekend. Otherwise, they would’ve just told us it was for Christmas Collision and there we go. But either way, Hook losing here means he is of course winning against Nick Wayne, and then maybe, just maybe, Hook goes after Christian for Worlds End or even Fight for the Fallen.
Great stuff with Ricochet tonight, as he doubles down on being this cocky side of himself, only to get rejected by The Hurt Syndicate and called out by Swerve. That sets up a lot of stuff for Ricochet to do after Worlds End, even if he isn’t Continental Champion. Ricochet’s promo was also a great segue into the great C2 match of Shelton VS Mortos. Great win for Shelton, and then the beatdown on Mortos bringing out Garcia and Briscoe was good stuff. Garcia VS Shelton is going to be great, and I do like the tease of Shelton wanting the TNT Championship. 2025 is definitely going to be Hurt Syndicate climbing up the ranks and grabbing up belts, so I could see Shelton being the first guy to do that.
Good promos from Darby and Ospreay to help open the show, and then just an absolute instant classic for their match. Darby scared us all again with that horrifying crash landing on the apron, but somehow he’s still in one piece. Darby winning wasn’t so much a shocker, but it is surprising they’ve given us quite the log jam at 6 points. Christmas Collision is going to be great stuff just on the drama of who comes away with 9 points. Ospreay VS Ricochet and Darby VS Claudio, that is great timing given those are some hot rivalry matches. And Darby winning was a great segue for Death Riders to come out and go to their main event match.
Great promo from Cassidy, White & Hangman to help hype this match, and it went about how I expected. Hangman abandoning the team was good stuff, because he of course came back when we least expected it. But at the same time, with Death Riders having extra people, they of course snatched that win away. The Fatal 4 Way is going to be great, but we’ve still got time to figure out this go-home math. And even then, it’s a Fatal 4 AND Christian Cage could choose to cash in at some point, the formula for this go-home math is too complex. But that said, I actually feel like Christian Cage should cash in. Imagine Christian as world champion being the last moment of AEW 2024 and then Fight for the Fallen, New Year’s Day, Christian opens the show just to gloat.
My Score: 8.9/10
