That double underhook DDT… NO WAY! CORA JADE HELPED ROXIE?!? An old friend might be an ally again, but will Cora expected a reward for this?

Fraxiom prepares… with video games?

Axiom knew WWE 2K would be a great way to prepare for next week’s title match. Nathan Frazer says A-Town Down Under is just as annoying in game as they are in real-life. But it won’t go like last week! Axiom agrees, but ATDU wants them angry. They gotta keep their emotions in check. In game or IRL? Both. What? Well, they just won the titles back, Axiom doesn’t wanna lose them already. Frazer agrees. Then don’t be a hothead! He’s not! But then Frazer takes the loss in the game… Oops. Frazer says that’s on Axiom for distracting him. Axiom says it still proves his point. Frazer takes a moment and sees Axiom is right. Wanna go again? Sure!

But while you can rematch instantly in a game, there will be no second chance against Theory & Waller in St. Louis. Can Fraxiom stay on the same page and keep this reign rolling?

Ava Raine talks with CM Punk.

She knows Punk’s mind is on Bad Blood, but she needs him to keep Ethan VS Trick clean. Punk promises, he is right down the middle with this match, and the winner will be deserving. But in steps Lexis King with a Chicago star in his fade. The King welcomes the Best in the World and asks Ava for a minute to talk with Punk. Ava obliges, and Punk asks about that star. Well, Lexis is a star, and they are in Chicago. Out of respect for Lexis’ father, Punk will allow it. How can Punk help him? Lexis says he is just trying to not be like his dad, he’s trying to be a better man. He tried doing that last week, but he could’ve also won.

Lexis could’ve bent the rules, he didn’t, and he lost. Punk saw that, Oro Mensah did get one over on him. So it sounds like there are the two wolves and Lexis has to figure out which one he listens to. Either Lexis wins at all costs, or he fights against the genes he was born with. Lexis appreciates that advice. They fist bump and Lexis heads out. Will Lexis be able to rise above the drama and be the better man?

Lola Vice & Jaida Parker prepare backstage.

Miss Parker tells Vice City to stay in her lane and they will get this W. Lola says no one tells her what to do. Lola takes lead. No, that ain’t happening. They argue over who needs who in this fight, but Kelani Jordan walks in to say they need each other! Save it for Fatal Influence. Jaida says she’ll handle them and Lola can just… Lola says no, SHE will handle them! They head out, and Kelani says goodness gracious. Good thing she’s got a backup plan. Will the NXT Women’s North American Champion need to get involved in order to humble Fallon, Jacy & Jazmyn?

Chicago Street Fight: Wes Lee VS Zachary Wentz!

MSK’s falling out continues to escalate, as No Mercy didn’t prove anything. At least, in the eyes of The Cardiac Kid. Trey Miguel made sure Wes couldn’t cheat his way to a win, but Wes made him pay for it. This is now a battle of revenge, will Zach avenge Trey? Or will Wes prove he was always the best of the Rascalz?

NXT returns as Zach makes his entrance. Wes is already waiting with a kendo stick in hand, but he FLIES out first! Zach dodges, then DIVES as the bell rings! The fans fire up as Zach takes Wes down, rains down fists, but Wes pushes free. Zach RAMS Wes into the apron! And then throws him into barriers! Zach huffs ‘n’ puffs while the fans fire up for “T N A! T N A!” Zach THROWS Wes into his own shopping cart! Zach then pushes Wes over, stands the cart up, and he goes Jackass on Wes as he RAMS that cart into him! Wes is sandwiched between cart and steel steps while Zach paces in anger.

Zach pushes the cart aside, drags Wes into the ring, and the fans say, “We Want Tables!” Zach paces as he hears the fans, so he goes looking under the ring. And instead of a table, he brings out a BIG piece of plywood. But Wes DIVES into the wood, taking Zach down hard! The fans fire up as Wes stomps Zach, then puts Zach in the ring. Wes throws a chair into the ring, and then another, and another, and another! And then another! And another! That’s what, half a dozen? Wes storms into the ring, grabs that kendo stick, and he winds up to SMACK Zach on the back! Zach flounders, but Wes SMACKS him again!

Zach writhes, Wes stands him up, but Zach dodges the strike to SUPERKICK! The stick goes flying so Zach grabs a chair! Zach SMACKS Wes on the back! Wes staggers, clutching an arm, but Zach SMACKS him with another chair! Wes leans against ropes, the fans want that “One More Time!” but Zach runs up. Wes puts Zach on the apron, but Zach has a SLEEPER! The ropebreak won’t matter, but Zach drags Wes over to the apron! When did that plywood and chairs get set up!? But Wes fights free, only for Zach to SLEEPER again! They FALL down through the wood!! The fans lose their minds, and NXT goes to break!

NXT returns and Zach climbs a corner, with Wes stuck in the other behind a trash can! Zach brings out his inner RVD, FULL METAL COAST2COAST!! The fans are thunderous all over again, and Zach drags Wes from the corner. Cover, TWO!! Wes survives, but Zach is too beat up to be upset. Zach wedges a chair in a corner, then sets another chair up by the ropes. Zach goes to Wes, but Wes fires body shots! Wes KNEES low. ROCKS Zach, then whips him. Zach stops himself but Wes SHOTGUNS him into the corner chair! Wes keeps moving, and he tilt-o-whirls, but Zack SLAMS him on the other chair!!

The fans again lose their minds as Wes writhes in agony! Zach pushes Wes to a cover, TWO!! Wes stays in this, too angry to give in. Zach goes outside, finds a kendo stick, tosses as trash can in, and then stalks Wes. Zach SMACKS Wes with the stick! And again! Zach puts the can around Wes and the fans fire up! Zach SAMCKS away on the trash can pinata! Wes falls over, Zach DOUBLE STOMPS the can!! Zach pushes Wes into a drop zone, and he goes up the corner again! SWANTON BOMB!! The can is crashed, Zach covers Wes, TWO!! Wes survives and no one can believe it! Zach drags Wes out of the can while fans cheer “NXT! NXT!”

Zach takes aim as Wes rises, and he runs in to go up the ropes, only for Wes to SHOVE him! The UFO crash lands past the table!! The target zone was missed by a mile, and Wes loves it! The ref checks Zach, but Zach is still moving so he’s somehow still in this. Wes pushes Zach into the ring, and Zach rests on the chair. Wes springboards to DOUBLE STOMP Zach against the chair!! Cover, TWO!!! Zach survives and Wes is beside himself! Wes brings out a steel chain!? “This is Awesome!” as Wes wraps that chain around his fist! But wait, Zach has the other end! Zach has done the same, and they DOUBLE KNUCKLE DUSTER DECK each other!!

The fans fire up as Wes and Zach crawl. Zach goes to a corner, grabs a chair, and then glares at Wes as he rises. Zach storms over, but Wes wants mercy!? Zach says he doesn’t wanna do this either, but he has to! So Wes LOW BLOWS!! And he ROCKS Zach with the steel fist! And again, and again, and again! Wes makes Zach take a seat, then goes up the corner. Wes wraps a leg with steel chain, to FULL METAL METEORA!!! Cover, Wes wins!!

Winner: Wes Lee, by pinfall

Chicago gives this Street Fight a standing ovation! Wes finally proves to Zach, and perhaps himself, that he’s been the better fighter all along. But how will Wes live with himself after going to such lengths against a former brother?

The Miz is in the ring!

Fans boo but the Hollywood A-Lister smiles. Miz wants them to tell him how they really feel. But on that note, he welcomes us to the Most Must-See WWE Talk Show, Miz TV! And we are live in Chicago! Oh, now they cheer. But this is the NXT debut on CW, and we’re all looking forward to later on tonight, THE NXT Championship match. But right now, Miz wants to talk the NXT North American Championship match for next week in St. Louis. His guests are both the champion and the challenger. First, the man closing in on becoming the longest-reigning NXT North American Champion in history, THE RULER, OBA FEMI!

The fans cheer as Oba makes his entrance and goes to the ring. Oba shakes Miz’s hand, and then Miz welcomes The Don, Tony D’Angelo! The fans also cheer as Tony makes his entrance, followed by The Family. Tony is all fired up to be here, and he shakes hands with Rizzo, Stacks & Luca before heading to the ring on his own. Tony joins Miz and Oba, everyone takes a seat. Miz welcomes them both and says he will start with Tony. We’ve seen the preparation, and Tony has admitted to being afraid of facing Oba again. What makes the match different than No Mercy?

Tony says that his entire life, he has been the guy to strike fear in the hearts of others. He’s roughed up some wise guys, fixed a few problems, but Oba dominates in every facet. There is a reason Oba is the most dominant North American Champion. Tony felt that power, that aggression, that explosiveness. But Tony has used this fear as motivation to do the unthinkable. And next week, Tony will stand toe to toe with Oba, dethrone The Ruler, and become the NEW NXT North American Champion! Fans are torn on that but plenty cheer. Miz asks Oba his response.

Oba says Miz has been in this business a very long time. Long enough to know when a man really believes what he’s saying and when he doesn’t. And Oba can say this: Tony doesn’t believe a single word he’s saying. Miz asks if Oba’s sure about that. Oba says he is. Oba will give Tony this: Tony’s had a very successful NXT career up to this point. But a man like Tony has a ceiling. You can stuff as many people as you like into trunks, throw them off bridges, and have whatever side hustle you desire. But the one thing you can never be is North American Champion, because it is OBA’s title! The fans cheer that one, too!

Tony says Oba sits there, talking like he knows Tony. He talks like he knows where Tony’s from. Tony grew up 20 minutes from this building. He grew up on the streets of Chicago! The fans definitely cheer that now. Tony has family in the back, in the crowd, extended, immediate, and even friends who believe and motivate Tony to be the man he is today! Oba tells Tony that they can’t fight for him! Luca, Rizzo, Stacks, NONE of them can fight for Tony. None of these people here can! Next week, it will be just Oba and Tony in the ring, and we all know what happened the last time: Oba BROKE Tony, BEAT Tony, and planted doubt in his mind.

And Oba knows Tony is questioning himself, and we know the answer to the questions. Tony, you cannot beat Oba! Tony gets mad and stands up, but Oba also stands. Miz scoots out of the way and waits to see what happens. The fans wanna see it go down, but Tony says Oba is still just a man. Oba shakes his head and says, “I am inevitable.” Tony frowns, but Oba says Tony is still broken. Miz says the North American Championship is on the line in St. Louis, Oba VS Tony! And from the looks of it, it will be… AWESOME~! Everyone has said their piece, but who backs their words up with actions when we get the rematch?

NXT Media catches up with Cora Jade.

The reporter says Cora sure made an impact in her return, and Cora says yeah, yeah, the whole world is so hypnotized by the debut of Giulia and the hype surrounding Stephanie Vaquer that they forgot about “The Savior of the Women’s Division,” Cora Jade. But she knows everyone thought Giulia- Wait, here comes Roxie. Roxie asks what the heck, but Cora explains. While these two have history, Cora kinda likes who Roxie’s become. Plus, Roxie is still champion. You’re welcome. Well, who knows, maybe common enemies can bring them back together. Roxie heads out, will these two bad girls become the baddest duo yet?

Lola Vice & Jaida Parker VS The Fatal Influence!

Speaking of baddest duos, the combination of Vice City and Miss Parker is perhaps the baddest combo, on paper. But in practice, these two are still rivals and are so obsessed in beating up The Influencers that they can’t even see it’s better to work together than against each other. But at the same time, only Fallon, Jacy & Jazmyn know who’s stepping up to the plate. Which toxic two take the fight to Parker & Vice?

NXT returns and Fatal Influence makes their entrance. Just by who is dressed, it is obvious that the Toxic Cowgirl and the Toxic Rockstar are stepping up, their toxic protege on standby. But Kelani Jordan is on commentary, this must be her backup plan. The teams sort out, and Jaida starts against Jacy. The two tie up, go around, and then break. They tie up again, go around some more, and Jacy puts Jaida on ropes. Jaida pushes Jacy but Jacy pushes back. Jaida headlocks, hits the takeover, but Jacy kips free to SLAP Jaida! Jaida SLAPS back! The fans fire up as Jaida headlocks, but Jacy powers out.

Jaida runs Jacy over, drags her up, and has her in the ropes. Lola tags in, which Jaida doesn’t like, but Lola AX KICKS Jacy down. Cover, ONE! Lola facelocks and gator rolls Jacy around. The fans fire up as Jaida COHPS Jacy, runs and DOUBLE TEARDROP!! The fans fire up as Jaida high steps it! Tag to Lola, and Lola reminds us, “I’M A LATINA~!” Lola runs to DOUBLE HIP ATTACK! The fans cheer, and Jaida actually low-fives Lola. Lola clamps onto Fallon’s arm but Fallon fights back. Lola wrangles Fallon to STOMP a hand! Lola fires hands in the corner, Jaida tags in, and Jaida RAMS into Fallon again and again. Lola tags back in, fires more hands, but then Jaida tags back in. The chemistry isn’t quite lasting but Jaida still runs Fallon over! And runs her over again! Jaida wrenches to ARM CODE BFRAEKER!

Fallon hits back, hits Lola, then ROCKS Jaida! Fallon reaches for Jacy but Jaida holds her back! It is a tug-o-war, but Jaida KICKS Fallon’s legs! Fallon JAWBREAKERS back! Both women are down, the fans rally up, and both women crawl! Jacy runs up, so Lola THRUST KICKS her first! Jaida isn’t sure what that was but Lola explains. Fallon CLOBBERS Jaida from behind! Lola is frustrated but Fallon drags Jaida away, and NXT goes to break.

NXT returns again and Jacy has Lola down in a body scissor squeeze. Lola endures, pushes back to a cover, TWO! Jacy holds onto the squeeze, but the fans rally as Lola fights around. Lola tries another cover, TWO! Jacy lets Lola go, runs up, but into a mule kick! Lola TACKLES Jacy, but Jacy turns it around to rain down fists. Jacy KICKS Lola and she goes to a corner. Jacy mocks Jaida’s high steps, then shrieks as she runs in to CANNONBALL! Jacy drags Lola to a cover, TWO! Jacy is frustrated but she drags Lola up. Jacy whips Lola to the corner, then back body blocks! Tag to Fallon, snapmare and KICK to SLIDING FOREARM! Cover, TWO!

Fallon talks smack on Jaida, drags Lola up, and whips her to a corner. Fallon ROCKS Lola, runs, but Lola ROCKS her back! The forearms fly, the fans rally, and Lola jumps on for a GUILLOTINE FACELOCK! Fallon stays up, but then drops. Fallon rolls through, pushes free, but DOUBLE LARIATS take both women down! The fans fire up again as both women crawl. Jazmyn storms over to Jaida! Jaida is distracted, and Fallon sends Lola into her! Lola mule kicks Fallon, and then Lola argues with Jaida! Jaida says forget it, she’s done. Fallon CLOBBERS Lola! Tag to Jacy and Kelani says she tried to keep this from happening.

Fallon drags Lola up, full nelsons, and Jacy has the legs. But Lola uses that to THROW them both away! ROUNDHOUSE for Fallon! ROUNDHOUSE for Jacy! And repeat! Jazmyn avoids a heel kick! Jacy ROLLING ELBOWS!! Jacy drags Lola up, gives her a kiss on the forehead, and tag to Fallon. DOUBLE KICK COMBO!! Cover, Fatal Influence wins!

Winners: The Fatal Influence, by pinfall

Toxic as they are, they are united, and they used the dysfunction to their advantage. Jacy has a mic to say, “And that is a statement made!” Fallon says their next target is the NXT Women’s North American Championship! So Kelani, come on up and show us she’s a fighting champion! Kelani knew they’d call her out, and yeah, they could go right now. But she didn’t exactly come to Chicago alone. Oh? JADE CARGILL & BIANCA BELAIR ARE HERE?! The StrongEST Duo has shocked everyone, and they help Kelani take the fight to The Fatal Influence! A scoop and SLAM for Jacy, a BOOT for Fallon, and Kelani smiles as those two are double stacked!

Jade runs to SPLASH the Influencers in the corner! Feed to Bianca for a SPINEBUSTER! Jade FALL AWAY SLAMS! And then Kelani DOUBLE SHOTGUNS! The real backup plan pays off, and the Women’s North American Champion stands tall alongside the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions! Will The Standout make sure the Influencers shut up once and for all?

Je’Von Evans speaks.

He still can’t believe it! He gets a match from Randy Orton for St. Louis. And we’re talking the Legend Killer, the Apex Predator, the Viper. That’s like the original Young OG. Randy Orton himself says he was given opportunity after opportunity, that is how he got to where he is today. Randy wants to be the first to give Je’Von such an opportunity. Je’Von says Orton is one of his guys, one of his favorites, but he knows when he goes to Orton’s hometown, he needs to be more than a fan. He gets to face one of his idols. Orton is sure one day, Je’Von could be the next Apex Predator, so this is him testing what Je’Von is made of.

Orton knows the odds are kinda stacked against him, but this could be the match that makes Je’Von THE top prospect in NXT. Je’Von say she will be bringing the best version of himself. Orton admits he has an ulterior motive. He wants to see if he can hit Je’Von with an RKO that knocks everyone’s socks off. Je’Von says all love and respect here, but sometimes a legend has to lose. He’s as ready as he’ll ever be, but will the Young OG eat an RKO?

Chicago erupts with “WHOOP DAT TRICK!” The long fight back up the mountain was well worth it, as now we are BACK in the Whoop Dat Era! Punk drags Ethan up, and makes him GO TO SLEEP!! The confetti flies as the new era is truly here! Will Trick make this the greatest chapter both in his career and in NXT history?

My Thoughts:

An awesome NXT for the CW debut, but sadly, like with SmackDown on Fox, WWE did not anticipate regional ownership affecting when NXT airs. It doesn’t change the quality of this show, it just annoys me that I’ll have to wait an extra hour for this show to be on. But as I just said, nothing of quality was hurt. I love that we have this new overall color scheme, we can call this the “Silver & Black” era, though there is plenty of yellow and gold still showing up in graphics and the brand new belts. And those brand new belts are looking GOODT! Naturally, HBK & HHH were here tonight, great introduction from them.

Great NXT Women’s Championship match to start us off, with only mild timing issues as this is only Giulia’s second match in NXT and it’s more an issue of slowing down. But Cora Jade’s return being to help Roxie retain is definitely unexpected. I had been wondering if Cora and Roxie would ever reunite, and this could be leading to that, but we’ll have to wait and see. Stephanie Vaquer did say last week that she gets next, and then we got a very good vignette for Delta. That plus if Giulia doesn’t bring up the “controversy” of tonight’s match, Ava Raine herself might, and we get some great matches to see who really has next.

Likewise, the story of Fatal Influence is continuing to build a Women’s North American Championship match. I figured Jazmyn was the odd Influencer odd, and that said third woman would just be a distraction factor in the match. Jaida falls for the usual Face cliche of misunderstanding her rival and ditching her, which is why she and Lola lose. But great move bringing Bianca & Jade in to back Kelani up. While Bianca has already done so much in WWE, and while Jade has AEW experience before coming into WWE, they can be thought of the highest achieving NIL recruits as Bianca was a track & field star at Tennessee and Jade was a basketball standout all before either of them got into pro-wrestling.

So great brawl where Kelani stands tall alongside the StrongEST Duo. The resulting Six Woman Tag either sees Jazmyn eating the pin, or Fatal Influence cheating their way to a win. Whoever pins Kelani is definitely the one getting the title shot at Halloween Havoc, Sunday, October 27th. Which could be a lot of fun if they Spin the Wheel & Make the Deal on it. Though, Wes and Zach basically raised the bar on what NXT and even WWE does for a No Disqualification match. I wish there was picture in picture tonight, especially for that Street Fight, there were spots shown in replay that I would’ve rather seen live. But as I figured, Wes wins tonight so that he and Zach are 1-1, and we can even use Halloween Havoc to settle things once and for all.

Fun promo from Fraxiom, though a little surprised we haven’t gotten more promos of them just hanging out together before. But with how A-Town Down Under stood tall last week, I’m very certain Fraxiom retains. Very good promo from Je’Von and Orton, and Orton hinting at wanting an amazing RKO, you can bet Orton counters either Je’Von’s flying cutter or his twister splash into an RKO. And very good Miz TV with Tony and Oba having their final say going into the match. But with this Rocky 3 inspired story, you can bet Tony finds a way to win. And as I said last week, that mostly just means Oba can then move up to the top title.

Very good promo from Punk with Ava and Lexis, and I like that Punk is helping facilitate Lexis’ Face turn. And great stuff in the main event, especially with Ethan constantly arguing with Punk. Also there’s a hilarious video on WWE’s social media that has Punk trying the classic HBK special guest ref look of the little bike shorts that are a little too tight. Anyway, great work as a ref from Punk, and great win for Trick. It’s as I said where NXT being on a new channel, it just works to have a new champion, and a Face champion at that, lead things. Trick is now a TWO-TIME champion, on the same level as Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, Karrion Kross, Tommaso Ciampa and Bron Breakker. Ethan probably doesn’t go away, though, as I don’t see anyone else ready to challenge just yet.

My Score: 9/10

Andrew’s TNA iMPACT! Results & Match Ratings: 5.29.25

Stuff happens, maybe it doesn’t, Dreamer and Delirious can’t book.

Published

on

Well Trick Willie is the new TNA champ and this is the first iMPACT since his win…so let’s just hear him talk about it.

Ratings:

  • The Rascalz vs Fir$t Cla$$ vs Laredo vs The System: Rascalz win via Meteora – ***
  • Raj Singh vs Mustafa Ali: Ali wins via…No Shit – Squash Garbage
  • ASH by Elegance vs Lei Ying Lee: Lei wins via Spinning TKO – ** 3/4
  • Mance Warner w/SDL vs Jobber: Mance wins via Hit the Pay Winda – Squash
  • Santino Marella & Arianna Grace vs Robert Stone & Victoria Crawford w/Tessa: Team Robbie wins via shenanigans – **
  • International Championship: Steve Maclin (c) vs Matt Cardona: Maclin retains via KIA – ***

Results:

The Rascalz vs Fir$t Cla$$ vs Laredo vs The System

Octagon got jumped by The System earlier so Laredo is fighting alone. Another backstage jumping is getting a little dumb.

Laredo and Trey start. Typical Indie start with Simultaneous awful Dropkick spot and bad counters, AJ blind tag runs the smaller guys over, tags out to KC and the Rascalz instantly get the moment. KC is rocked, tags in Laredo and Laredo takes out the System before Lish gets on the apron and grabs Laredo. The referee kicks out Lish and Rehwoldt on commentary points out it’s a No DQ match so that’s dumb.

KC gets tossed at AJ, he catches him, Rascalz Dive and do their taunt as we go to commercial. We come back, Tennessee Whiskey into a KC tag in for the near fall on Laredo. Corner combo, Snapmare into Flip Forward Neck Breaker, KC is on a roll. AJ tags Laredo and starts talking crap to KC, they swerve and go Finger Poke of Doom, but it’s not a legal pin. Suddenly tornado attacks, System and Rascalz go for broke, AJ hits the Senton to break the eventual pin, Laredo counters AJ’s Chokeslam attempt. Trey clears out The System, Wentz sends himself and KC over and out, Laredo with a Corkscrew Moonsault, which looked cool but it’s the pile of morons waiting to get hit spot.

AJ hits the Down Payment on Laredo, but Trey blind tagged AJ. Meteora on AJ, Trey pins Laredo and Rascalz win.

Raj Singh vs Mustafa Ali

Raj looks like shit in the gear he came down in…and he wrestles equivalently. I would rather anyone else comeback…give me Anarquia.

Ali murders Raj, Instant Dropkick, Rolling Neckbreaker, Corkscrew Standing Moonsault, it’s not close. Raj tries to counter things but Ali Bellclap, a little Duck the left, connect the right. Raj even does a terrible looking Punch Combo, he’s in bad shape, a bad looking Ushigoroshi, Raj with a sloppy looking something, 450 ends it.

Fire Raj as quickly as you brought him back. You don’t need a comedically pathetic job guy when the roster is like 4 guys getting pushed and everyone else sucks. Stop being stupid. Ali still hates women too.

This Injury Report is the dumbest segment in the history of wrestling. Stop treating fake shit as “serious business”.

ASH by Elegance vs Lei Ying Lee

ASH mocks karate stuff, Lei throws a few Rising Crane kicks as ASH bails and then things slow down a little. But a Pump Kick, Sliding Kick and Low Dropkick cause ASH to cower and claim her tooth broke. It’s a bait to pull Lei into the turnbuckles and them get in a few stomps. Ash keeps Lei in the corner, Suplexes her ankles into the buckles and then Ash throws a few Booty Shots/Hit Attacks then starts a grounded stretch, Lei Headscissors her down, still sells the hips and ankles, but dodges and fires, combination strikes into the 10 Count Down Strikes. T-bone Suplex, into the pinfall, for only two.

Cheapshot into Running Meteora from ASH for two. Ash goes for the Miz Yes Kicks and Lei No Sells and asks for more. Gorgeous Capture Suplex into Thunder Struck and TKO with flair. My baby has a better finish now! Yay!

Mance Warner w/SDL vs Jobber

Hannifan cursing and being pissed at Trick for not even showing but is more entertaining than a squash match. Not that Mance’s offense is bad, but 2 out of 3 job matches is stupid.

Santino Marella & Arianna Grace vs Robert Stone & Victoria Crawford w/Tessa

Marella tries to tie up with Robbie, but he bails and tags out to Victoria so Arianna comes in and aside from Alicia Fox’s silliness, the tie up was decent with Arianna and Victoria. Tessa interferes and the Referee throws her out. Victoria comes back in and aside from a slight miscommunication with how Arianna does her punches, Alicia Fox is making her look…pretty good. Transition moves, okay brawling and Arianna looks amazing in her outfit.

Rob and Santino distract the referee and Victoria hits a Figure Four into her Northern Lights Suplex, only for 2. Arianna finally Back Body Drop to find the tag, Santino and Rob, Santino does his split dodge into the Standing Headbutt, Arianna Cross Body onto Victoria. Rob pulls out the ref, then shoves the ref into Santino, Santino into the steps and Arianna attack but Alicia and Lish, the fix is in, Arianna eats the pin.

International Championship: Steve Maclin (c) vs Matt Cardona

A few quick brawl moves, Shoulder Tackles, Strikes, Back Breakers, Cardona does get dumped out and eats a SCUD. Maclin bounces Cardona’s face off the apron and hits an Elbow off the apron to keep Cardona reeling, but a dodged tackle sends Maclin into the steps. Cardona tries to Piledriver Maclin on the ramp, but Back Drop counter, into commercial.

Formulaic commercial etiquette of Cardona still in control, throws Maclin into the ropes, Diving Shoulder Tackle lays both dudes out and they get up by 8. Fighting Spirit spot, Cardona hits ropes and gets hit by Maclin twice, Thesz Press, Ground and Pound, Back Elbow and Olympic Slam has Maclin rolling. Splash into Lariat for two. Maclin has been all gas no brakes. Cardona tries to take a few shortcuts that turns into a Straight Jacket Takedown. Cardona to the top, Maclin cuts him off, Superplex spot. 1-2-kick out!

Maclin goes topside for a Jar Headbutt, Cardona hits the ropes so Maclin crashes into the corner, 2 Reboots connect, the third gets caught, counter into Busaiku Knee, Jar Headbutt. In and out, Cardona uses the middle rope for the Low Blow, Killswitch from Cardona but Maclin kicks out. Cardona dodges and shoves Maclin towards the ref, he puts the brakes on, Radio Silence! 1-2-Kick out! Maclin catches a top rope move, Power Bomb, Corner Splash, Tree of Woe, Caught in the Crosshairs, KIA and Maclin retains!

Overall Score: 4.5/10

Boring paint by numbers show, no Trick, System has one move, Robert Stone is a scumbag, too long to introduce new girls, lots of throw away segments and Rosemary sets up YET ANOTHER Monster’s Ball match. These aren’t interesting when there’s one every 3 months. So we can have terrible Monster’s Ball matches quarterly, Barbed Wire Massacre and Clockwork Orange House of Fun…BUT NO LOCKDOWN!?

Go home TNA, you’re drunk.

The bell rings and the fans rally up. Taguchi and Knight circle with a bit of a strut, and then they tie up. Knight puts Taguchi on the ropes, the ref calls the break, and Knight lets off to swivel his hips. Taguchi pumps up, but Knight says he can’t see anything. Knight flexes and says he tsuyoi. Best of the Super Juniors 32 B Block: Titan VS Nick Wayne!

El Inmortal may not have life in the block, but he can still be a spoiler! Will he pop the Prodigy’s bubble? Or will this still be Wayne’s World in the end?

The bell rings and Titan runs up! Nick dodges, whips, but Titan reverses to TORNADO- NO, Nick powers out! Nick wrenches and whips, Titan goes up and over, and then Titan handsprings away! Nick Wayne falls to 4-5, he is out of the running! But bigger yet, Titan has a win over the ROH World Television Champion! AEW/ROH and CMLL are going to meet in Arena Mexico for Grand Slam: Mexico, could these two run it back with gold on the line?

Best of the Super Juniors 32 B Block: MAO VS SHO!

The Strange Love Connection is the first of the top three to compete tonight, and while he has to hope for the others to fall, he still has to do his part and win. Will the Murder Machine make that all moot with another underhanded trick up his sleeve? Or can the star of DDT Pro make it to the finals?

Wait, Mao already turns the tables by pedaling in on his bike! He RAMS Sho down from behind! The fans fire up as Mao hurries to CLUB Sho down! The House mugs Mao, drags him up, and double whip him into a corner. Yujiro BOOTS Mao, Ren ELBOWS Mao, then Ren snapmares Mao to hold him open! Yujiro hits the FALLING HEADBUTT LOW BLOW! The fans boo while Mao writhes!

Ren stands Mao up and Yujiro has his pimp cane! But wait, SPRINGBOARD MISSILE DROPKICK from Shunma! Down goes Tokyo Pimp! Ren BOOTS Shunma, he BOOTS Kanon, but Kanon roars! Ren CLAWS Kanon’s eyes, runs, but Kanon LARIATS! The fans fire up as the full Strange Love Connection aims at Sho, HIGH LOW LARIATS!! Shunma builds speed and he DIVES! Down go Ren & Yujiro! Kanon & Mao set Sho up, but YOSHINOBU KANEMARU shows up! WHISKEY MIST for Kanon, and the BOTTLE SHOT for Mao! The fans boo as the Heel Master helps screw over the enemies of the House!

Kanemaru shoves the ref in and Sho laughs at Mao! STRAITJACKET DRIVER!! Cover, TWO?!?! Mao survives and the fans fire up! But Sho has the ARMBAR!! Mao flails, fights around, and he stacks Sho! TWO and Sho still has the arm! SNAKE BITE!! Mao fights against the modified triangle, fights his way over, and has the ROPEBREAK!! The fans cheer and Sho lets go in frustration. Sho crawls his way over and looks for his things. Sho grabs his Torture Tool and NEVER Openweight Six Man belt. The ref sees the belt and takes that, but then Mao surprises Sho with is iron gauntlet! Mao PUNCHES the Torture Tool down!

Sho dodges the fist, pushes Mao to ropes, and Kanemaru is there! But Mao ducks, WHISKEY MIST hits Sho! Mao BOOTS Kanemaru, then powers up the gauntlet! ROCKET PUNCH!! And then SAMURAI SUPERKICK!! Cover, TWO?!?! Sho survives, but Mao says he’ll finish this now! Mao drags Sho to a drop zone, climbs up the corner, and 450 SPLASHES!!! Cover, MAO WINS!!

Winner: Mao, by pinfall (gains 2 points; Sho earns 0)

Sho tried to stack the deck, but justice was still served! Mao is alive in the block, if only for now. Can he count on Robbie Eagles AND Taiji Ishimori to bring down El Desperado and Yoh?

Best of the Super Juniors 32 B Block: El Desperado VS Robbie Eagles!

The Rogue Luchador still has that target on his back, not only because he could go to the finals with his win and Yoh’s loss, but because he is THE IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion. Could the Sniper of the Skies kill two birds with one victory? Or is Despy about to go back-to-back at the BOSJ finals?

Eagles shows off his Soul of PWA Championship, and makes a point that it is bigger and shinier. Despy says yeah, that’s nice. The fans rally and duel already, and the bell rings. Despy and Eagles circle, the fans rally more, and they feel things out. The fans already start up “ROBBIE ROBBIE ROBBIE!” “OI OI OI!” so Eagles joins in! “ROBBIE ROBBIE ROBBIE!” “OI OI OI!” “ROBBIE!” “OI!” “ROBBIE!” “OI!” “ROBBIE ROBBIE ROBBIE!” “OI OI OI!” The fans applaud, Eagles mocks Despy’s bow and waving arms, then the two tie up. Despy waistlocks, Eagles switches but Despy wrenches. Eagles rolls, wrenches, hammerlocks, but Despy headlocks for the takeover.

Speaking of which, Kosei Fujita now makes his way out here to be face to face with Yoh. Yoh holds the ropes open for Fujita to step into the ring. Here are the FINAL B Block standings!

YOH: 6-3, 12 points [FINALIST]
El Desperado: 6-3, 12 points [ELIMINATED]
MAO: 6-3, 12 points [ELIMINATED]
Taiji Ishimori: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
Robbie Eagles: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
SHO: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
Nick Wayne: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
Kevin Knight: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
Titan: 4-5, 8 points [ELIMINATED]
Ryusuke Taguchi: 3-6, 6 points [ELIMINATED]

My Thoughts:

A great night to wrap round nine and therefore the round robin portion. No repeat BOSJ finalists, which is actually great because now we’ve got a fresh match-up. Taguchi VS Knight was still a great match for not affecting outcomes, and Knight gets to return to AEW with a win. The flipside is Titan gets a win over Nick Wayne, I really do think it books itself, Nick VS Titan for the ROH World TV Championship on Grand Slam: Mexico. Christian Cage can even be condescending to Nick over how Nick didn’t make it to the finals, adding to that feud. Nick can beat Titan in the rematch, then get in Christian’s face to make a match for All In: Texas, or at least Supercard of Honor where ROH titles should be showing up anyway.

Great stuff with Mao and his team against Sho and the House of Torture. I was pleasantly surprised that Mao won, and I wonder if the House of Torture goes to a DDT Pro show to battle it out with Strange Love Connection. Mao winning also added great drama to the remaining matches, Despy VS Eagles was awesome stuff, probably the actual best match of the night. Yoh VS Taiji wasn’t quite as hot going by the crowd, but Yoh getting the win to shut the door on Despy was good. Yoh VS Fujita will be great, a bit hard to call, but that makes it fun.

My Score: 9/10
