5. Wrestle Kingdom 10

One of AJ’s last Indy matches before heading to WWE and already seen as one of the best of his career.  This was the semi main event of Wrestle Kingdom 10 where Styles would challenge Shinsuke Nakamura for his IWGP Intercontinental championship. Rarely do you get matches of such high quality for what is essentially the secondary title.

A lot of people compare this to their WWE encounters usually with the WWE matches being looked at negatively by comparison. It’s not fair to compare given that both promotions have different styles and you can’t catch lightning in a bottle twice.

4. His WWE Debut

Even when the news broke that AJ was coming to WWE it was still hard to believe until we saw him. Smartly debuting in the Royal Rumble as it’s the perfect match for a surprise debut. Only thing that would have made it better was if they didn’t focus on a confused Roman.

Of course he wasn’t going to win but AJ Stlyes had arrived in WWE and there was so much possibility about where he would go from here.

3. Beating John Cena

In the months after his debut AJ gave Roman two of his best matches coming short in his attempts to take the WWE championship. However this was where AJ truly showcased what he could do in WWE. The match that stole the show at SummerSlam 2016.

The hardcore Brooklyn crowd bit for every near fall so worried that Styles would be the latest victim of Super Cena. Just listen to the reaction when Styles kicks out of the AA from the middle rope. In the end Styles hits the Phenomenal forearm to pin Cena clean in the middle of the ring.
