2. Forming the Main Event Mafia

A big part of TNA was the Main Event Mafia a group of former world Champions consisting of Sting, Kevin Nash, Booker T, Scott Stiner and Kurt Angle as the leader. A good concept on paper: having the old guard band together to protect their spot against the new generation of stars.

The only issue was more often than not the old guard came out on top hold almost every title they had at the time. This was a classic example of TNA valuing people who made their name elsewhere over their homegrown talent.

1. His Hall of Fame Induction

After years of fans wondering if he would ever return to WWE, Kurt Angle was announced to be headlining the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2017. Angle was welcomed back to the company and the induction was very well deserved. He gave an excellent speech where he ran through some of his career highlights and gave some advice to the current roster about not being afraid to take risks.

From there he would become the RAW GM a role he still holds today. His run as GM hasn’t been perfect but you can’t deny this was moment was long time coming. It also means Angle will end his career in WWE the way it should.
