NEW NXT UK

Double down on the Blackpool aftermath!

Not only is NXT UK still sorting through the Blackpool TakeOver, but now we add Worlds Collide on top! What happens in the wake of a wild week?

OFFICIAL RESULTS

  • The Hunt VS Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch; Lorcan & Burch win.
  • Nina Samuels VS Isla Dawn; Dawn wins.
  • Tyson T-Bone VS Ridge Holland; Holland wins.
  • Six Man Tag: Imperium VS Dave Mastiff & South Wales Sub Culture; Imperium wins.

PLAY BY PLAY

Worlds Collide brought the fury!

When it came to NXT VS NXT UK, it was “win some, lose some.” Finn Balor was too rrrreeeal for Dragunov, DIY was as good as they ever were, and Rhea Ripley retained her NXT Women’s Championship. But on the flip side, NXT UK Women’s Champion, Kay Lee Ray, put Mia Yim away. And in perhaps the biggest wins of all, Imperium conquered the Undisputed Era, and the NEW NXT Cruiserweight Champion is the Irish Ace! What does this shift in power mean for the global NXT umbrella?

The Hunt VS Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch!

Primate and Wild Boar return, but it’s not just them! The Govenah returns to the UK and has brought his Yankee friend with him! Which return will be the happier one with a win tonight?

The teams sort out and Boar starts with Burch. They circle and fans cheer with “One Two!” Boar ties up with Burch and gets him on the ropes. The ref calls for the break but Burch wrenches to a wristlock. Boar works on a reversal but Burch holds on tight. Boar gets the wrench and a chinbar, but Burch works around to get the wristlock back. Fans rally as this exchange continues. Burch headlocks to a takeover, traps an arm and throws quick palm strikes. Boar grabs at Burch’s face but Burch gets up. Boar powers out of the headlock to RAM a shoulder in! Boar then drops a senton on Burch’s back! Tag to Primate, who springboards in for big ax handles! Cover, ONE, but Primate whips. Burch ducks, jumps, and catches Primate out of the air!

Burch brings Primate over to tag in Lorcan. Lorcan CHOPS Primate then throws European Uppercuts. Tag back to Burch and the One Two double wrench and CHOP! Burch drags Primate up to throw a EuroUpper of his own, then pull him up by his ear. Tag to Lorcan and Primate fights but gets mugged. They whip Primate but he throws big forearms! Tag to Boar and Boar runs in at Lorcan, only to get a BIG elbow! Lorcan hits a kitchen sink knee then throws CHOPS in the corner! Tag to Burch and the BritAm connection double suplexes Boar down. Cover, TWO! Burch clamps onto Boar’s arm and then tags Lorcan again. The One Two mug Boar more but fans bark with Primate. Lorcan waistlocks and drags Boar into a cobra twist. Boar endures as Lorcan pulls on the stretch, but fans rally again. Boar powers his way out and bites Lorcan’s hand! Lorcan clubs Boar but Boar gets away to tag Primate!

Primate rallies on both Lrocan and Burch! Body drop for Lorcan, EXPLODER for Burch! Primate roars and runs corner to corner to clothesline Burch, then Lorcan, then back again! Burch follows but gets Lorcan instead! Primate sandwiches the BritAm Brawlers before giving Lorcan a LARIAT! Cover, TWO! Lorcan lives but fans are rallying up. Primate runs in again but Lorcan dodges, and Primate gets posted! Tag to Burch and Burch dropkicks Boar down! Burch hits Primate with a corner clothesline, enziguri and GERMAN SUPLEX! Lorcan gets Primate up for Burch’s BOMB! High stack cover, TWO! Fans cheer as Primate survives. Burch drags Primate up and over to tag Lorcan back in. Burch hoists Primate up in the Electric Chair but he slips out to send Burch out. Lorcan leaps into an overhead suplex! Primate flounders to tag in Boar! Tag to Burch but Boar RAMS in! And then CANNONBALLS!

Boar grunts as he drags Burch up, but Burch HEADBUTTS! Burch fires up and York does with him as he tags in Lorcan. But Boar sends Burch into Lorcan and tags Primate back in! Boar dumps Burch out onto the apron and they scrap, then Boar leaps, to BELLY FLOP! Primate springboards into a EuroUpper! Lorcan shouts for Burch and Burch tags in! Lorcan drags Primate up, feeds to Burch, draping DDT! Cover, Lorcan & Burch win!

Winners: Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch, Burch pinning

The One Two get the one-two-three, and that’s a great start to their return! Will the BritAm Brawlers punch their way to an NXT UK Tag Team title opportunity?

NXT UK shares a Worlds Collide backstage interview with Toni Storm.

The Lightning From Down Under didn’t strike in Houston. She gave an incredible performance, but what went wrong? “Kay Lee Ray is still in here. This has to end.” Toni wants revenge on KLR, but when and where will she get it?

Eddie Dennis is here!

The Welsh Dragon devastated Trent Seven in Blackpool, and is now in York to speak as to why. Dennis gets in the ring, a handful of fans cheering for Wales but most booing the man himself. Dennis grabs the mic and stares out at the crowd as he says, “I did this.” Footage replays of when Dennis used the Crucifix Bomb to throw Seven OUT of the ring! Dennis smiles as he finally watches it for himself. “I took a pillar of NXT UK, a founding father, Trent Seven. I picked him up above my head. When the referee wouldn’t let me throw him into the turnbuckle, it forced my hand.” Dennis had to send Seven sailing out. But speaking of, here’s Trent Seven now!

“Eddie, Eddie, Eddie.” You’re boring us, mate. And more importantly, Eddie’s a liar and a cheat. Because as much as the history books will say Dennis beat Seven in Blackpool, Seven feels as if the books miss a key detail that Seven remembers. Baring the buckle! That is the reason Dennis won! Now what Seven proposes is that they go again! But since Dennis loves rearranging things, we take ALL the pads off! An exposed four corners, whether it’s here, there or somewhere in the road! And better yet, they do it as a STREET FIGHT! What does Dennis say? Exposed steel street fight! Dennis swings but Seven is the one who hits! And Seven runs Dennis off! The Artful Dodger isn’t going to miss this one! Will he expose Dennis’ weakness when all twelve buckles are exposed?

A-Kid surprises Tyler Bate at the UK Performance Center.

The Spanish Ace was so amazed by Bate against Devlin. A-Kid wants to get to that level. Bate says why wait? He’s free next week. Wait, what? Bate VS A-Kid in a match. But A-Kid’s really good. Bate knows that. But will A-Kid pass the test against the Big Strong Boy?

A new force of nature is coming to NXT UK.

One powered by the wind, the water and the woods. Aoife Valkyrie arrives in two weeks!

Nina Samuels VS Isla Dawn!

The Nina Samuels Show is back in the spotlight, but she wants to be on an even bigger stage. Will the White Witch keep Nina from the golden glamour that is the NXT UK Women’s Championship?

The bell rings and Dawn circles with Samuels. They tie up, Samuels wrenches and wrings Dawn out but Dawn sweeps the legs. Samuels is up, they tie up but Dawn arm-drags her down. Samuels headscissors but Dawn pops out to arm-drag again. Dawn whips but Samuels cartwheels through, but Dawn waistlocks. Samuels bucks Dawn off but Dawn does the splits. Samuels kicks but gets caught to a roll up, ONE and Samuels throws Dawn by her hair! Samuels pulls on hair to get a headlock and thrashes Dawn around. Dawn powers out but Samuels runs her over. Things speed up and Dawn follwos to roll Samuels to a cover, TWO! Dawn dropkicks Samuels right down and fans fire up! Samuels flounders to a corner, Dawn runs corner to corner, but Samuels dodges. Dawn’s knee hits buckles and she tumbles out, for Samuels to handspring kick down!

Samuels swaggers as she goes out to fetch her co-star, but Dawn throws hands. Samuels whips Dawn into the apron! Samuels takes a bow but fans boo, so she puts Dawn in the ring. Cover, TWO, and Samuels grows frustrated. Samuels pulls on hair to bring Dawn up and throw! Fans boo and the ref reprimands Samuels but she continues after Dawn with a corner to corner whip! Dawn hits buckles hard but Samuels brings her out. Fans rally as Samuels runs to Scissor Kick! And then back somersault leg drop! Cover, TWO! Samuels is frustrated and she thrashes Dawn in a chinlock. Fans rally and Dawn fights out, only for Samuels to scoop. Dawn slips out to club and whip. Samuels goes up and headscissors, Deadly Nightshade puts Dawn into buckles! Samuels swings to knee Dawn down! She tries again but Dawn dodges! Samuels hits buckles, Dawn SAIDO SUPLEX!

Samuels flounders into Dawn’s rally of forearms and clotheslines! Knee trigger and kick, but Samuels counters to scoop. Dawn slips out and wants a half nelson. Samuels fights out, goes up top but Dawn 619’s to trip her up! Dawn climbs as Samuels is in the drop zone. Samuels is up and Dawn leaps, METEORA! But both women go in opposite directions so no cover. Samuels gets up but Dawn grabs her for a SNAP Half ‘n’ Half! Bridging cover, Dawn wins!

Winner: Isla Dawn, by pinfall

Samuels doesn’t get the happy ending she wanted, and Dawn starts to climb the rankings! Will the White Witch begin a magical journey to the title scene?

NXT UK shares the Worlds Collide interview with Ilja Dragunov.

Unbesiegbar lost to Finn Balor, but what can he say? Dragunov wants those big battles, and Balor gave it to him. Balor was a tough opponent and Dragunov will learn from this. What Dragunov is most proud of, is that he gave Balor’s nose a nice hit. But to refocus on NXT UK, Joe Coffey is waiting to settle things with him. Dragunov vows not to miss again. Will the Moscow Madman have as tough of a battle with the Iron King as he did with the rrrreeeal Prince?

Backstage interview from right now with Lorcan & Burch.

Radzi is glad to see them both, but what brings them here? NXT has a great Tag Team Division, but the reason they’re here is 1) beat people up, and 2) throw ’em up. The Hunt went down, but now Lorcan & Burch want to test themselves against Gallus. Oney’s up for a fight and so is Danny. “See you lads soon.” Will Mark Coffey and Wolfgang be ready to slug it out?

Tyson T-Bone VS Ridge Holland!

Speaking of slugging it out, that is exactly what The King of the Travelers loves to do! But will he be the one taking his lumps against the Peaky Blinder that has yet to even break a sweat in NXT UK?

The bell rings and York cheers for Yorkshire as Holland ties up with T-Bone. They go around and Holland puts T-Bone on the ropes. T-Bone hits back but Holland just smirks. Holland throws hands but so does T-Bone and we have a brawl! Holland gets the edge but T-Bone throws body shots. The ref just tries to keep them from staying in the corner too long as they just keep throwing hands! T-Bone shoves to body shot but Holland knees and uppercuts. Another uppercut then another but T-Bone kicks low. T-Bone whips but Holland reverses to then belly2belly suplex! Holland drags T-Bone to a cover, TWO! Holland clamps onto T-Bone to throw crossface forearms and finally stagger the man. Holland cravats and knees T-Bone, then reels him in for a LARIAT!

Fans cheer as Holland brings T-Bone back up. Holland throws more EuroUppers to stagger T-Bone, but T-Bone comes back with clubbing shots! T-Bone suplexes Holland up and over! Float to cover, ONE! Holland is on his knees and T-Bone throws more hands. Holland hits back but T-Bone kicks him down. T-Bone reels Holland in but Holland powers out of the bomb to headbutt! T-Bone fires up but gets another headbutt! Holland uses an Alabama lift, and Alabama SLAM! Holland drags T-Bone back up, scoop for NORTHERN GRIT! Cover, Holland wins!

Winner: Ridge Holland, by pinfall

The embodiment of Northern Grit gets his grittiest win yet, and he tips his cap to T-Bone. But will there ever come a man that can bring this human brick wall down?

Six Man Tag: Imperium VS Dave Mastiff & South Wales Sub Culture!

Alexander Wolfe, Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner didn’t like that Flash Morgan Webster & Mark Andrews pointed out the truth: neither team won the NXT UK Tag Team Championships in Blackpool. But in order to silence the upstarts, Imperium is willing to settle this in the ring. However, Sid Scala and Johnny Saint were well aware of Wolfe’s bending of the rules, so he’s lumped into this, too! Will Imperium regret trying to suppress speech when it means having to face SWSC and their massive new friend?

The trios sort out and Andrwes starts against Barthel. They circle and Andrews keeps his eyes on the other Imperium men. Andrews ties up with Barthel and wrenches to a wristlock. Barthel pulls on Andrews’ ear then clamps a hand onto the shoulder. Barthel gets a chinbar and then brings the arm around for a hammerlock. Barthel holds it with one arm and brings Andrews down to the mat. Barthel leans on Andrews but Andrews reaches back for a headlock. Barthel counters with a bridge on the hammerlock and a return to the mount! Fans cheer that technical ability, but Andrews powers up. Aichner tags in as Andrews powers out of the headlock. Barthel whips and Aichner arm-drags Andrews down! Aichner mounts on the armlock but Andrews works after the legs. They stand, Aichner wristlocks but Andrews spins through to roll and handspring. Mule kick and a tag to the Modfather!

SWSC double dropkick Aichner down! Aichner blocks the whip to reverses it but then blocks FMW’s huricanrana to an Ankle Lock! Tag to Wolfe and Wolfe keeps on the ankle. FMW powers out and things speed up. FMW hurdles, arm-drags and dropkicks Wolfe down! Penalty Kick and imploding senton! Cover, TWO but Mastiff tags in. Fans fire up for The Bomber as he throws EuroUppers on Wolfe! Mastiff whips Wolfe but Wolfe kicks back. Tag to Aichner but Mastiff runs Wolfe over to hip toss Aichner! Cover, TWO, but Mastiff brings Aichner over. Tag to Andrews and they mug Aichner. Aichner grabs Andrews’ beard to whip, but Andrews wheelbarrows. The arm-drag is blocked and Aichner whips again, but Andrews tilt-o-whirls around the world to headscissor! Tag to Barthel but Andrews slides to PELE! And then wheelbarrow victory roll, STOMP 182!

Tag to FMW, back suplex moonsault and then a standing moonsault! FMW covers, TWO! FMW tags Mastiff back in and Barthel is fed to Mastiff’s EuroUpper! Mastiff hauls Barthel up to a stalling suplex! Mastiff holds Barthel up for a count of 10, then goes one handed before dropping Barthel down! Cover, TWO! Imperium grows frustrated but Andrews tags in. Mastiff helps Andrews with the Toast at 3AM Moonsault! Cover, TWO, but Andrews tags FMW. SWSC has Barthel caught for corner forearms and a basement dropkick! Cover, TWO! FMW drags Barthel up but Barthel CHOPS! Tag to Wolfe and Wolfe runs at FMW in a corner. FMW boots Wolfe, then he boots Barthel. FMW hops up onto Barthel to springboard and huricanrana Wolfe! FMW dodges Barthel to QUEBRADA!

Fans fire up with the Modfather, and he triangle dropkicks Aichner! Wolfe GERMAN SUPLEXES FMW high and hard! Cover, TWO!! FMW survives somehow but Wolfe taunts Andrews. Wolfe looms over FMW and drags him up. Fans rally and FMW gives headbutts of all things! FMW throws a EuroUpper and tags in Aichner. Imperium mugs FMW then Aichner puts him in the open corner. Aichner CHOPS FMW and it sits him right down! Aichner brings FMW up and talks trash to whip corner to corner. FMW hits buckles hard and flops to the mat, but Aichner keeps him from his team. Aichner stomps and stomps then puts him in the Imperium corner. FMW is upside-down in the ropes, tag to Barthel. Imperium meets in the corner with dropkicks! Fans boo as Imperium poses. Barthel fetches FMW and puts him in the ring.

FMW crawls but Barthel keeps him from Andrews and Mastiff with a throat chop! Tag to Aichner and Imperium toys with FMW now. Then they sucker punch Andrews! Mastiff stays up and FMW fires off! CHOP for CHOP but then Barthel shoves. Aichner SPINE BUSTERS, Barthel Penalty Kick! Cover, TWO!! Fans fire up for the Modfather again and he hits a jawbreaker! Enziguri misses but FMW escapes the back suplex. FMW hits the Imperium corner then goes up and over to send Aichner into buckles! Hot tag to Mastiff! The Bomber rallies to whip and clobber Aichner! Wolfe gets in but gets tossed! Mastiff hits Barthel down then drags Aichner up, ROLLING SENTON! BACK SENTON! Cover, TWO!! Aichner survives but Mastiff drags him back up. Another fireman’s carry and tag to Andrews. Andrews LEAPS to crossbody Wolfe, but Aichner slips out to BOOT Mastiff.

Andrews elbows Aichner but Barthel intercepts! Toss into Aichner’s arms, for BRAIN- STUN DOG MILLIONAIRE! FMW gives Barthel a KNEE TRIGGER! Mastiff dropkicks Wolfe out, then helps SWSC FLY! Direct hit on Imperium, but fans want to see Big Dave do something crazy. Mastiff considers it, but has to throw Wolfe onto Imperium first! With all three targets lined up, Mastiff is on the apron, and CANNONBALLS!! The Bomber blows up all three, and York is thunderous! Mastiff puts Barthel and Aichner back in as SWSC climbs. Mastiff mocks the pose, but here comes WALTER! Mastiff DECKS the NXT UK Champion, but Wolfe shoves FMW down! Aichner goes after Andrews but gets an enziguri for it. Andrews springboards, but into the toss and BRAIN BUSTER! Cover, Imperium wins!

Winners: Imperium, Fabian Aichner pinning

The size advantage was Mastiff’s, but the numbers were in Imperium’s favor! The Ring General joins his soldiers in celebrating this victory, but is this just the first battle in a new war for NXT UK? Or is Big Dave an obstacle not even the Austrian Anomaly can get past?

My Thoughts:

A really good episode for NXT UK here. There is still a lot of Blackpool to still address with Worlds Collide adding on, but NXT UK did very well with both of that in just this one hour. The post Worlds Collide interviews were good, and it helps show that Toni wants a third chance at the UK Women’s Title, or at least at KLR. That’ll be an interesting part of the build to whatever next major date UK is building towards, but it sounds pretty good already. Same with Dragunov preparing for Joe Coffey. I said before that I kinda wish Gallus wouldn’t go back to Heel so soon, so I hope this just stays a respectful Face VS Face handling business type deal. Dawn getting the win over Samuels was a good match, the UK Women’s Division needs to build up that midcard so it isn’t just KLR, Toni and Piper at the top. Holland VS T-Bone was a great and heavy-hitting match, I’m hoping there’s big plans for Holland despite no true midcard title in UK.

We got great tag team matches tonight, too. The Hunt VS Lorcan & Burch was great, and it makes sense for Lorcan & Burch to win. I have a feeling the Gallus Boys are going more Heel again if they’re having a feud with the pretty much Face BritAm Brawlers. But much like when they challenged Undisputed Era, I feel Lorcan & Burch will put up a great fight to still lose in the end. Trent Seven calling out Eddie Dennis was great, and I’m very excited to see this Steel Corners Street Fight next week. It almost feels like their Blackpool match was the go-home to this match, but hey, getting the match is what matters.

Bate VS A-Kid is going to be a good match, and probably also an opening for Devlin to show up and brag that he has the Cruiserweight Championship now. I could easily see a Devlin VS Bate rematch being for that title so that Devlin can get even for Blackpool, or Bate becomes the first man to have had the UK and Cruiserweight titles in his career. The Six Man main event was really great, and it apparently sets up Mastiff VS Walter, which will be awesome. But much like Lorcan & Burch, Mastiff probably puts up a great fight only to lose. Either way, it’ll be great stuff while we wait for whatever NXT UK’s fourth TakeOver event will be.

My Score: 8.4/10

Andrew’s TNA iMPACT! Results & Match Ratings: 5.29.25

Stuff happens, maybe it doesn’t, Dreamer and Delirious can’t book.

Published

on

Well Trick Willie is the new TNA champ and this is the first iMPACT since his win…so let’s just hear him talk about it.

Ratings:

  • The Rascalz vs Fir$t Cla$$ vs Laredo vs The System: Rascalz win via Meteora – ***
  • Raj Singh vs Mustafa Ali: Ali wins via…No Shit – Squash Garbage
  • ASH by Elegance vs Lei Ying Lee: Lei wins via Spinning TKO – ** 3/4
  • Mance Warner w/SDL vs Jobber: Mance wins via Hit the Pay Winda – Squash
  • Santino Marella & Arianna Grace vs Robert Stone & Victoria Crawford w/Tessa: Team Robbie wins via shenanigans – **
  • International Championship: Steve Maclin (c) vs Matt Cardona: Maclin retains via KIA – ***

Results:

The Rascalz vs Fir$t Cla$$ vs Laredo vs The System

Octagon got jumped by The System earlier so Laredo is fighting alone. Another backstage jumping is getting a little dumb.

Laredo and Trey start. Typical Indie start with Simultaneous awful Dropkick spot and bad counters, AJ blind tag runs the smaller guys over, tags out to KC and the Rascalz instantly get the moment. KC is rocked, tags in Laredo and Laredo takes out the System before Lish gets on the apron and grabs Laredo. The referee kicks out Lish and Rehwoldt on commentary points out it’s a No DQ match so that’s dumb.

KC gets tossed at AJ, he catches him, Rascalz Dive and do their taunt as we go to commercial. We come back, Tennessee Whiskey into a KC tag in for the near fall on Laredo. Corner combo, Snapmare into Flip Forward Neck Breaker, KC is on a roll. AJ tags Laredo and starts talking crap to KC, they swerve and go Finger Poke of Doom, but it’s not a legal pin. Suddenly tornado attacks, System and Rascalz go for broke, AJ hits the Senton to break the eventual pin, Laredo counters AJ’s Chokeslam attempt. Trey clears out The System, Wentz sends himself and KC over and out, Laredo with a Corkscrew Moonsault, which looked cool but it’s the pile of morons waiting to get hit spot.

AJ hits the Down Payment on Laredo, but Trey blind tagged AJ. Meteora on AJ, Trey pins Laredo and Rascalz win.

Raj Singh vs Mustafa Ali

Raj looks like shit in the gear he came down in…and he wrestles equivalently. I would rather anyone else comeback…give me Anarquia.

Ali murders Raj, Instant Dropkick, Rolling Neckbreaker, Corkscrew Standing Moonsault, it’s not close. Raj tries to counter things but Ali Bellclap, a little Duck the left, connect the right. Raj even does a terrible looking Punch Combo, he’s in bad shape, a bad looking Ushigoroshi, Raj with a sloppy looking something, 450 ends it.

Fire Raj as quickly as you brought him back. You don’t need a comedically pathetic job guy when the roster is like 4 guys getting pushed and everyone else sucks. Stop being stupid. Ali still hates women too.

This Injury Report is the dumbest segment in the history of wrestling. Stop treating fake shit as “serious business”.

ASH by Elegance vs Lei Ying Lee

ASH mocks karate stuff, Lei throws a few Rising Crane kicks as ASH bails and then things slow down a little. But a Pump Kick, Sliding Kick and Low Dropkick cause ASH to cower and claim her tooth broke. It’s a bait to pull Lei into the turnbuckles and them get in a few stomps. Ash keeps Lei in the corner, Suplexes her ankles into the buckles and then Ash throws a few Booty Shots/Hit Attacks then starts a grounded stretch, Lei Headscissors her down, still sells the hips and ankles, but dodges and fires, combination strikes into the 10 Count Down Strikes. T-bone Suplex, into the pinfall, for only two.

Cheapshot into Running Meteora from ASH for two. Ash goes for the Miz Yes Kicks and Lei No Sells and asks for more. Gorgeous Capture Suplex into Thunder Struck and TKO with flair. My baby has a better finish now! Yay!

Mance Warner w/SDL vs Jobber

Hannifan cursing and being pissed at Trick for not even showing but is more entertaining than a squash match. Not that Mance’s offense is bad, but 2 out of 3 job matches is stupid.

Santino Marella & Arianna Grace vs Robert Stone & Victoria Crawford w/Tessa

Marella tries to tie up with Robbie, but he bails and tags out to Victoria so Arianna comes in and aside from Alicia Fox’s silliness, the tie up was decent with Arianna and Victoria. Tessa interferes and the Referee throws her out. Victoria comes back in and aside from a slight miscommunication with how Arianna does her punches, Alicia Fox is making her look…pretty good. Transition moves, okay brawling and Arianna looks amazing in her outfit.

Rob and Santino distract the referee and Victoria hits a Figure Four into her Northern Lights Suplex, only for 2. Arianna finally Back Body Drop to find the tag, Santino and Rob, Santino does his split dodge into the Standing Headbutt, Arianna Cross Body onto Victoria. Rob pulls out the ref, then shoves the ref into Santino, Santino into the steps and Arianna attack but Alicia and Lish, the fix is in, Arianna eats the pin.

International Championship: Steve Maclin (c) vs Matt Cardona

A few quick brawl moves, Shoulder Tackles, Strikes, Back Breakers, Cardona does get dumped out and eats a SCUD. Maclin bounces Cardona’s face off the apron and hits an Elbow off the apron to keep Cardona reeling, but a dodged tackle sends Maclin into the steps. Cardona tries to Piledriver Maclin on the ramp, but Back Drop counter, into commercial.

Formulaic commercial etiquette of Cardona still in control, throws Maclin into the ropes, Diving Shoulder Tackle lays both dudes out and they get up by 8. Fighting Spirit spot, Cardona hits ropes and gets hit by Maclin twice, Thesz Press, Ground and Pound, Back Elbow and Olympic Slam has Maclin rolling. Splash into Lariat for two. Maclin has been all gas no brakes. Cardona tries to take a few shortcuts that turns into a Straight Jacket Takedown. Cardona to the top, Maclin cuts him off, Superplex spot. 1-2-kick out!

Maclin goes topside for a Jar Headbutt, Cardona hits the ropes so Maclin crashes into the corner, 2 Reboots connect, the third gets caught, counter into Busaiku Knee, Jar Headbutt. In and out, Cardona uses the middle rope for the Low Blow, Killswitch from Cardona but Maclin kicks out. Cardona dodges and shoves Maclin towards the ref, he puts the brakes on, Radio Silence! 1-2-Kick out! Maclin catches a top rope move, Power Bomb, Corner Splash, Tree of Woe, Caught in the Crosshairs, KIA and Maclin retains!

Overall Score: 4.5/10

Boring paint by numbers show, no Trick, System has one move, Robert Stone is a scumbag, too long to introduce new girls, lots of throw away segments and Rosemary sets up YET ANOTHER Monster’s Ball match. These aren’t interesting when there’s one every 3 months. So we can have terrible Monster’s Ball matches quarterly, Barbed Wire Massacre and Clockwork Orange House of Fun…BUT NO LOCKDOWN!?

Go home TNA, you’re drunk.

A great night to wrap round nine and therefore the round robin portion. No repeat BOSJ finalists, which is actually great because now we’ve got a fresh match-up. Taguchi VS Knight was still a great match for not affecting outcomes, and Knight gets to return to AEW with a win. The flipside is Titan gets a win over Nick Wayne, I really do think it books itself, Nick VS Titan for the ROH World TV Championship on Grand Slam: Mexico. Christian Cage can even be condescending to Nick over how Nick didn’t make it to the finals, adding to that feud. Nick can beat Titan in the rematch, then get in Christian’s face to make a match for All In: Texas, or at least Supercard of Honor where ROH titles should be showing up anyway.

Great stuff with Mao and his team against Sho and the House of Torture. I was pleasantly surprised that Mao won, and I wonder if the House of Torture goes to a DDT Pro show to battle it out with Strange Love Connection. Mao winning also added great drama to the remaining matches, Despy VS Eagles was awesome stuff, probably the actual best match of the night. Yoh VS Taiji wasn’t quite as hot going by the crowd, but Yoh getting the win to shut the door on Despy was good. Yoh VS Fujita will be great, a bit hard to call, but that makes it fun.

My Score: 9/10
